ooh, can I hear about your mlp ship? just want to make sure I write them correctly!

I want to apologize for how long it took for me to get to both of these asks, the truth of the matter is I- Didn't really have any set ideas for Shortcake and Trenderhoof's relationship aside for it being "Simple Ways 2 but make it a Romcom-" for the longest time-

But I do have a much more cohesive story for them! And it's!! .. Simple Ways 2, but now a Romcom. Well. Shit. Okay Read more time-

Okay okay that sounds bad on paper but it's really not I promise- To make a long story short: Trenderhoof comes back to Ponyville for another event, aiming more to focus on writing than making a fool of himself. He books a room at Shortcake's B&B, having heard nothing but good things about other ponies' stays there. Promises himself he won't fall into a silly infatuation again. He shows up to the B&B, and.. Falls head over heels for Shortcake.

No worries though! He has learned from his last stay in Ponyville! And chooses to not rush into theatrics and huge romantic gestures with his new crush, so no Poems, no changing his whole look, no "I'm moving to Ponyville" after 2 days in town- Even if he may still be a smiiidge clingy.. But he does try his best on taking time to listen and give space when he knows it's needed! And it works! With time, Shortcake does open up and ends up getting a lot closer with him. Mostly thanks to Morb ( @sunburstkisser :3) but they refuse to admit it-

So they go on a few dates, start a long distance relationship, write back and forth while Trenderhoof travels around for work, anddddd eventually move in together after a while! Sure, he may not be around a good portion of the time when he has work lined up, but Ponyville does become his home and he couldn't be happier-

TL;DR: Trenderhoof falls in love easily, Shortcake is a brick wall, he doesn't give up and works to gain their trust while showing how much he likes them, now a year and a half later they live together and got married and are just as mushy as when they first started dating :3
