#trench pilgims

I played a game of trench crusade with a friend earlier tonight. He was on trench pilgrims and I was on iron sultanate. Turn two, he's trying to make an 8" charge with his anchorite into my brazen bull (they only get d3 on the charge because of machine armour, so it was a 50/50). It was a pretty big roll which would be a huge swing either way, either letting the bull run rampant for an additional turn, or the anchorite does anchorite stuff in melee. And, as he's about to make the roll, I shit you not, Holding Out for a Hero comes on in the store's speakers, and the madman makes the charge and proceeds to wreck my bull.

It wasn't hugely unlikely, but it was just so hype.

God I love this game.

Just finished painting the first of my trench pilgrims, here's a few shots of them;

They're an anchorite shrine, a castigator and a pilgrim with a punt gun. They're a bit of an eclectic bunch, though the rest of the procession to which they belong are sitting mostly finished just out of shot.

And the remainder of the procession is done! The war prophet and communicant, backed up with some pilgrims and a few stigmatic nuns!

I'm really happy to finally have these guys done. They've been sitting in a tupperware container unpainted for the better part of 6 months (much to my great shame showing up to games with them) and it's good to have that weight off my chest.
