Happy new year everyone! Welcome to the scifi lookin-ass year of 2025. Unfortunately, despite the many predictions that Star Trek has made about the future, the 2024 Irish Unification did not come to pass.

Here's some notes about the state of the union blog:

I have some posts in queue! Waow. About a month worth, once a day at 1pm EST, except for Thursdays where there might be more than one, since they'll be Throwback Thursday where I'll be reblogging older posts. Starting tomorrow!

I don't think anyone cares about this but me, but I've changed all my category tags so that there isn't a space between the category title and the thing itself. By which I mean what used to be #char: spock is now #char:spock. This makes it much easier for me to search up posts on mobile browser. And a lady loves searching up her own blog's posts.

I've redone my tumblr theme! Check it out at trekheritageposts.tumblr.com at a computer near you! Something weird was going on with my old theme where sometimes pages would just load a white screen for a little bit. No more! Very few people also probably care about this other than me.

FINALLY and perhaps MOST IMPORTANTLY. I have another blog I have created I would like to gauge the interest for:

This would be a blog for daily Star Trek related polls. Since I don't want have to devote too much time to running it, ideally you good citizens would be sending polls ideas via ask or creating the entire polls and putting them in the submission box, and I would create them up and queue them for a poll daily, and only have to do maintenance every once in a while. You can go ahead and send poll ideas or feedback over there now.

whoops, I queued that before tumblr's change went fully into affect.

That being said, there is a way to get around this on desktop with my best friend xkit. Mobile bloggers are shit out of luck but we as a collective should be doing less mobile blogging anyway. Desktop blogging is FOREVER the superior option.

*lets take ibuprofen voice* let's all be twee about our laptops like its 2013 again.

Also I've been meaning to revamp this blog's custom theme to be more like my main where it has "via" and "source" links right on the posts. Maybe this will finally motivate me to do that (<-lying). But I encourage you all to enable custom themes and get one that does that. Be the change you want to see in the world. Forge your own prev links.

Trek Heritage Posts FYI: Repeat Submissions Going Forward

Hi all! This blog is at the age now (+6months) where a number of the submissions I'm getting have actually already been posted on this blog. Moving forward, if a submission is a repeat and my heritage post is on the older side, at my discretion I may 1) reblog with my original caption and tag "resubmission: url" and 2) not include any other continuity/character sorting tags. That way people get the post visibility on their dash if they missed it months ago, but won't run into it repeated if they're going through a specific tag on the blog.

Also for now I'm thinking repeat submissions will be reblogged outside of my queue (which currently posts once a day at 1pm EST), though I may put them in queue as time goes on.

Finally, if you think a post may have been here before and are unsure, I highly recommend going into the notes (on DESKTOP or a MOBILE BROWSER, because on mobile app this is borked sometimes) and sorting by Comments Only to see if a trek heritage post caption is there. With comments on posts being the exception rather than the norm and this blog being relatively young, alot of times the caption is right at the top. (This is how I check myself, because I forget if I've already reblogged posts all the time. 😂)

Hi all! Just a little FYI that the mod of this blog will be offline from October 22nd to November 1st. Therefore I have temporarily closed the ask box and turned messaging off. Please save any submissions for my return, and thanks to all that submit posts, and all that follow for heritage posts!
