What is Palubolígo?

Palubolígo (‘Palu’ - meaning ‘New’ and ‘Bolígo’ - meaning ‘Dirt’ or ‘Earth’) is a gigantic planet, with a diameter of around 1 500 000 kilometers, and due to the Gravitational Greater God dubbed Palu Mater (‘New Mother’) has the net acceleration of 10 m/s, which actually lead the sophont beings of the planet to use the metric system independently of Earth humans, as a meter is defined as a 10th of a distance traveled by a falling object, and the length of a second is the average time for 1 heartbeat between the first sophonts - the Folk (convergently evolved humans) and the Vraa (eusocial species of crow-like bird with still developed hands).

Palubolígo is strange in its magnetism, which seems to have a north pole at the center of the planet and a south pole on the surface. This phenomenon leads to many flying animals utilising magnetic metals to build their wings, and as they spread or fold their wings, the north pole of these metals shifts up and down respectively.

The planet has exactly 25 hour days and one year takes 350 days, this means that Earth has a year 10 hours longer, a small enough amount that Earth Human colonists simply adopted the local time and didn’t bother with recounting their years.

The Planet is very cold, with global average temperatures being around 2-4 degrees Celsius (a similar figure has been reached by the native sophonts who use the one 100th of a difference between the boiling and freezing points of water - the number isn’t identical due to sligtly different pressure). This makes Palubolígo very cold, the poles are obviously the coldest with around -100-120 degree chills, while the Trejan Desert, the hottest place on the planet, rarely goes lower than 40 and higher than 55 degrees.

Our Sooners need to play a full schedule so we can get our star players playing as much as possible

We need the full schedule BAD, because that will give us Ronnie Perkins, Ramondre Stevenson, and Trejan Bridges back for much of the season and the big games along with the chance of Jadon Haselwood and Theo Howard coming back from injury..  Right now from a practicality stand point we have one running back that is a proven difference maker (Kennedy Brooks) - that is not enough from an endurance standpoint and injury risk.  We went from an embarrassment of riches at wide out Jadon Haselwood, "Ball Out Charlie" Rambo, Theo Wease, and Trejan Bridges, Theo Howard (UCLA transfer) to 2 potential star players - Rambo and Theo Wease.   (Haselwood injured during covid quarantine, Bridges NCAA disapproved of cannabis to relieve pain, Theo Howard torn Achilles.)   Of course, we also need our sack leader, Ronnie Perkins, back from NCAA punishment

McCoy to Texas means Red River rivals have absurd WR classes

Just in case you were worried about the Red River Shootout ever becoming less shootout-y.

Here are the 247Sports Composite’s 2019 five-star recruits expected to play wide receiver in college:

Jadon Haselwood, Oklahoma signee

Bru McCoy, new Texas commit (who signed with USC, but left to sign UT financial aid docs after OC Kliff Kingsbury up and got an NFL job)

Garrett Wilson, Ohio State signee

Theo Wease, Oklahoma signee

George Pickens, Auburn commit

Jordan Whittington, Texas signee

Also, Texas signed four-star WRs Jake Smith (Gatorade’s national high school player of the year) and Marcus Washington, plus No. 5 tight end Brayden Liebrock.

And Oklahoma signed four-star WRs Trejan Bridges, plus No. 3 tight end Austin Stogner.

Texas A&M, Clemson, Auburn, Tennessee, and others put together great lists of skill signees, but it’s pretty easy to argue the Red River rivals are coming away from Signing Day with by far the two best groups of pass catchers. Texas and OU both added four-star running backs as well.

Both the Sooner and Longhorn freshmen join teams that lose their top receivers to NFL Draft early entry (Marquise Brown from OU and Lil’Jordan Humphrey from UT) but otherwise return a bunch, meaning some pretty damn loaded receiving corps in the near future.

For 2019 at least, both teams also might be just as suited to having the quarterback run the ball as anything else. Both Texas’ Sam Ehlinger and new Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts recently ran for what would prove to be game-winning scores against Georgia, in fact. There are better stats to use in order to show both QBs are comfortable leading with their feet, but whew. Sorry, Georgia.

Expect OU’s Hurts offense to be based around option runs and quick throws, with Ehlinger continuing to evolve as a passer while also doing the Tebow thing at times. Whenever these teams decide to air it out within the next few years, though ... have fun stopping all this.
