How To Maintain Solar Panels For Long-Lasting Efficiency?
Solar panels are an excellent investment for those looking to harness the sun's power and reduce their carbon footprint.
However, regular maintenance is key to ensure that your solar panels in Christchurch continue to operate at peak efficiency.
In this guide, we'll explore some simple yet effective ways to keep your solar panels in top condition so you can enjoy long-lasting energy savings.
1. Regular Cleaning
Dirt, dust, and debris can accumulate on the surface of your solar panels in Christchurch, reducing their ability to absorb sunlight. Regular cleaning is essential to maintain their efficiency. Here’s how to do it:
Use soft water. Hard water can leave mineral deposits on the panels, while soft water is less likely to leave spots and streaks.
Gentle cleaning tools: A soft brush or sponge with soapy water is ideal. Avoid abrasive materials that could scratch the surface.
Safety first: If your solar panels are on the roof, ensure you use a sturdy ladder and have someone assist you. Alternatively, hire a professional cleaning service.
Tumblr media
2. Inspect for Damage
Over time, weather conditions and other environmental factors can cause wear and tear on your solar panels in Christchurch. Regular inspections can help you spot potential issues before they become major problems.
Check for cracks: Even small cracks can reduce the efficiency of your panels. If you notice any damage, contact a professional for repairs.
Inspect wiring: Ensure all connections are intact and not exposed to the elements.
Look for shading: New trees or nearby structures may cast shadows on your panels, reducing efficiency. If shading is an issue, consider trimming trees or relocating the panels.
3. Monitor Energy Output
Monitoring the energy output of your solar panels in Christchurch is an easy way to ensure they’re working efficiently. Many solar systems have monitoring tools that allow you to track performance in real time.
Daily checks: Keep an eye on your system’s energy production daily. Sudden drops in output could indicate an issue.
Compare with expectations: Compare the actual output with the expected output for your location and time of year. If there’s a significant discrepancy, it may be time to call in a professional.
Use monitoring apps: Many solar panel systems have apps that provide detailed insights into your energy production, helping you spot trends or potential problems.
4. Professional Maintenance
While regular DIY maintenance is important, scheduling professional maintenance checks is equally crucial.
Professionals can perform a more thorough inspection and address any issues that may not be visible to the untrained eye.
Annual check-ups: It’s a good idea to have a professional inspect your solar panels in Christchurch at least once a year.
Inverter maintenance: The inverter is a critical component of your solar system. Ensure it’s checked regularly to avoid any disruptions in energy conversion.
Warranty check: Always ensure that maintenance and repairs are carried out following your warranty conditions to avoid voiding it.
5. Seasonal Adjustments
The efficiency of solar panels in Christchurch can vary with the seasons. Making small adjustments can help you maximise energy production year-round.
Tilt angle: If your panels are adjustable, consider changing the tilt angle to capture more sunlight during different seasons.
Snow removal: Snow can cover your panels in winter, reducing their efficiency. Gently remove snow using a soft brush or a roof rake designed for solar panels.
Summer care: During the summer, ensure your panels are not overheating. Providing ventilation can help maintain efficiency during hot days.
Conclusion
Maintaining your solar panels in Christchurch is essential for ensuring long-lasting efficiency and maximising your energy savings.
Regular cleaning, inspections, monitoring, professional maintenance, and seasonal adjustments can help you keep your panels in top condition for years.
By investing a little time and effort into maintenance, you can continue enjoying solar energy's benefits while reducing your environmental impact.

Day 3. February 1, 2020. Christchurch to Mt. Cook Village. 355km.
After a solid night's rest at our nicely appointed 3 level apartment in the Merivale neighborhood, the task of figuring out the best way to load all the gear/clothes on the bike was the first challenge of the day. With the large rolling duffel left at the bike shop I was pretty confident that everything would fit, but since I would be in a tough spot if it didn't, there was some trepidation as I bought my first pannier liner (borrowed from the Multistrada) down to the bike. The Duc has different sized panniers as one side's volume is cut nearly in half to accommodate and the Italian emphasis on aesthetics. The BMW has frame mounted and equally sized rectangular Givi plastic panniers. Our rental company informed us yesterday that although these bags have a triple clip closures and were supposed to be waterproof, they weren't "New Zealand rain-proof" as the southern and western portions of this island have rainfall measured in feet not inches! 🌧 I brought down the wider bag hoping that it would fit. Murphy once again intervened and it seemed a couple inches too wide. I decided to zip up the expansion section with some side of my body mass the same clothes were smashed a couple inches. Alas, still no go on the bag. So, a retreat to the third floor to rejigger everything. Let's just say I was glad I brought a 70l dry bag for the bike's tail. I needed it once I had to remove some items from my side/pannier. Anyway as I secured my heavier than expected tail bag with my trusty Rok Straps and slipped onto Papanui Road headed for the Southern Alps, I didn't pop a wheelie and felt that logistics weren't now just in need of some tweaking. A system to organize and pack is key to making the daily cycles of unpacking, loading, unloading, repacking an easy and stress-free task. The 70l bag gave me a large margin of error so I did overpack knowing I had this extra room if needed.
Saturday AM brought us little traffic as we rode along the other side of Hagley Park into the Westfield Riccarton area of CHC. A few other bikes were on the road and within 15-20' we started increasing our speed (in accordance with the posted limits, mostly 😉) as we left CHC and development behind. We rode past some of those horse racing tracks and saw a few jockeys wheeling around on their sulkies. For an hour or more we headed west and a bit south enmeshed in a patchwork of farmland. Flat, broken up by Irish style hedges and trees that were manicured and coerced into natural fence lines blocking wind effectively while creating visual barriers. Some small towns and without breakfast (not like me) I was tempted to call for a stop but we were aiming for Fairlie, where a few folks had impressed upon us the need to sample the pie 🥧 in Fairlie. Now when I hear pie, I'm thinking fruit. Usually cherry or apple. But the pies of note on our radar were of the meat variety! I didn't want to ruin my appetite. After a couple hours something changed. We made a turn in the road that wasn't a left or right, but an undulation. Wait, was that a hillside up ahead? All of a sudden we were in the foothills. Gone the flat farms of sheep, cows and agriculture. Now we were winding on increasingly common twisties. As we gained elevation the ambient temp dropped from around 22°C all the way down to 13.5°C (about 56°, still not really cold). We did end up stopping for a light bite in Geraldine at the Running Duck. I had a Coconut Ice (smoothie) and a heated raisin danish. A Ducati monster was parked there and he was stretching out in a chaise type lounger soaking up the sun. Bubba the elephant allowed the local server to locate us outside as most tables were full with travelers. We had taken the inland road which was recommended as more scenic and less traffic. At Geraldine we joined the main commercial road conducting summer crowds up to the Alps and Mt. Cook. A fuel stop there after the danish and off to Fairlie. We chose the Fairlie Bakery and despite the hype, were not disappointed with the buttered chicken and mushroom pie. 😋 We had passed some more interesting farms that included emu, caribou, deer, alpaca along with the more common farm animals. We were now traversing and crossing glacial runoff/moraine. The distinctive turquoise color of the glacial water is visually magnetic. 👀 It is caused by the silt or "rock flour" the water carries and is very distinctive.
Next on the Day 3 hit parade were two stunning glacial lakes. Lake Tekapo and the oft photographed stone Church of the Good Shepherd prompted a photo stop along with a hundred Chinese tourists. It sits near the road overlooking the colorful lake with a view of Mt. Cook aka "Aoraki" in Maori towering to 12,218'. Loads of small RV's everywhere too! #rvlife Riding past Tekapo on to Lake Pukaki which was equally turquoise. Afternoon had brought us a high, thin overcast which kept us from capturing the water's full visual splendor. It is still over 50kms from Pukaki to the end of the road here in Mt. Cook village as you wind up the valley and the glacial run-off becomes a river feeding the lake. There are a number of sizable glaciers here. We are going to tour glaciers by boat later on the ride at Milford Sound so we'll just enjoy the blue glacier ice from the valley floor today. There are a number of well marked trails through the unique alpine environment here as the whole area is a national park. Some trails through woods, others pass over hills to provide panoramic views of the Hooker and Tasman glaciers (the matter is the longest in NZ). Lodging here is limited and we opted to stay at the very nice Hermitage resort. Upon check-in we were informed the room wasn't ready. A bit of persuasion involving the manager whom we requested promptly solved the 1 1/2 hour previously proclaimed delay for a room not yet ready and a corner room with a spectacular view was provided. 😊 We're gonna explore the area for a bit now and hardly think the pics will do today justice but I'll attach 10 to follow. The weather has held off and so far no rain. Tomorrow is supposed to be different but we'll see if the meteorologists are again proven to be inaccurate. We walked through a heavily wooded seemingly tropical path on the way to a dinner which was accompanied by some dense bushes, trees and stairs. A bit of interesting history regarding Aoraki. Sir Edmund Hillary, a Kiwi born in Auckland who is best known for being the first man to climb Everest, cut his teeth on this mountain. 6 years prior to his successful assault on Everest with Tenzing Norgay he was learning the skills needed for the Himalayas right here. https://teara.govt.nz/en/photograph/28327/hillary-and-ayres-on-aorakimt-cook-1947 Mt. Cook has claimed over 80 lives this past century.

I am a victim, a witness and a survivor of the worst massacre in the history of the American Jewish community, and I am the Rabbi of Tree of Life in Pittsburgh.
In the time since the tragedy there, I sometimes find it challenging to separate personal, subjective feelings from being objective due to my presence there that day. As a leader in my community, what words of wisdom can be offered that are not tinged with my own grief, borne of both my experiences and the deep loss that I feel for 11 beautiful souls martyred in our synagogue?
The massacre in two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, tore the scab off the wound, revealing pain and suffering that I thought I had processed. That day, and subsequent days, taught me that I will forever carry with me October 27, 2018 — when my own place of worship was attacked — and be regularly reminded of it. But they also taught me that what I do with these deep-seated feelings is my choice to make. I know there are times when the narrative is in charge, and yet other times when I can try to effectively direct that narrative.
How does a Rabbi respond? How does one inspire and guide others? There is no playbook to refer to, no Rabbinic colleague to share their personal experience, no prior reflections upon which to ruminate. Yet my deep abiding faith grew even greater. I turn to God daily for support, guidance and inspiration. It was apparent from the beginning that my being spared had to lead to action, that the 11 must not have died in vain.
As I take a step back to take it all in, permit me to share my view from 30,000 feet. After the horror in Tree of Life, I took an oath a scant two weeks later at a rally at Point State Park, in downtown Pittsburgh, that stated that the word “hate” is an obscenity, just like other four-letter words. I, and many others, now refer to it as the “H word.”
H speech frequently leads to violence, as it did in Pittsburgh and, alas, other places. When we tone down our rhetoric, though, we lessen the emotional impact of our words, and perhaps steer ourselves and others away from the wrong path. If you don’t like something, I urge you not to say “I ‘H’ it.” Rather, say: “I don’t like it.” This simple act is necessary to restore civil discourse to our society, buffeted as it has increasingly been by too much uncivil discourse.
More than anything, H speech reveals the unhappiness of its author, who foists anger, disappointment and insecurity upon another group and who is unable to personally deal with life’s challenges. When you blame others for what happens to you, you transfer your perceived victimhood to them — in this case, the Jewish community — and they then become the victims and the victimizers at the same time. This demonstrates the absurdity of anti-Semitism: those who speak and act from bigotry try to come across as victims, with the Jewish people as the source of their problems. The Jewish people, victims of this eternal plight, respond and make the bigot feel even more victimized.
The Jewish community is resilient, having faced, and continuing to face, numerous forms of anti-Semitism, one of the oldest forms of H speech in existence. But while H speech is not going to disappear any time soon, I have seen that it does not remotely reflect the attitude of all the people on this planet. Within minutes of the massacre at Tree of Life, words of love flooded my email and social media accounts. Strangers of different faiths shared in their grief and dismay, and offered comfort, strength and hugs. The sheer volume of communication from people across the planet, which continues unabated, offers a loving reminder that the vast majority of human beings on this planet are good, decent people. They felt my pain, and could not understand how a fellow human being could inflict such carnage upon other human beings. They wanted to reassure me that this is not a reflection of humanity, but an aberration. And they are right.
All people across the globe desire the same things for themselves and their families: a safe place to live, work and worship; sufficient food and clothing; access to good medical care; the opportunity to be the best they can be without restrictions; a government that has their best interests at heart, that acts upon those interests; and joyous moments of celebration. This is just the short list. We are all far more alike than different, and the outpouring of global love has reassured me that we are good, and that the scales of life cannot be severely tilted towards the bad because of the heinous acts of one person.
Unfortunately, the pain cannot be eliminated, as we sadly have learned from Parkland and Newtown and now Christchurch. There are times when I just cannot drive by the Tree of Life. (We are currently worshipping in a different synagogue.) I find myself detouring to avoid seeing the building. The process of healing is not a constant upward line on a graph, but more like the peaks and valleys of an oscilloscope.
Yet musicians send me beautiful compositions that they say they were inspired to compose so that they could both speak to their grief and offer their solace. Artists have created, and continue to create, moving tributes and beautiful works that defy words. The good and decent people continue to appear on a daily basis, reminding me that they, too, want to help in the healing process, that the tarnish can be removed with gentle buffing, that the community of mourners extends far beyond Pittsburgh.
Although the timetable is uncertain, the Tree of Life will reopen. We must reopen, for if we do not, then H wins. To paraphrase former Senator Alan Simpson’s eulogy for President George H. W. Bush, H corrodes from the inside. It can overcome you until you don’t even recognize it. We cannot allow that to happen. The Tree of Life has been in Pittsburgh for 155 years, and we will be here for 155 years more — shining, as people have done for us, a beacon of love to all.

There is no excuse for supporting this president
On Sunday morning, former congressman Beto O’Rourke spoke for millions of Americans.
O’Rourke is a native of El Paso, one of two sites of mass murder in the past 24 hours. The alleged killer had regurgitated white nationalist bile and hatred of immigrants. If a Muslim preacher’s words were repeated nearly verbatim by Islamic mass murderers, we’d consider him a threat to national security. And yet, when venom drawn from President Trump’s vicious attacks on immigrants, his channeling of “replacement” conspiracy theories, his dehumanization of immigrants and his demonization of the media show up in the ramblings of serial mail bomber Cesar Sayoc, the Tree of Life synagogue and Christchurch mosque mass murderers and now the slaughterer of innocents in El Paso, we don’t collectively hold him morally accountable, insist his recant his views and demand an end to his presidency.
South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg observed that white nationalist terrorists “feel validated” by Trump.
For decades now, Republicans have insisted mass murders with semiautomatic weapons are not reflective of a gun problem. I can no longer comprehend how such a ludicrous assertion is remotely acceptable. But in one sense they are right: It’s not merely Republicans’ indulgence of the National Rifle Association that puts Americans’ lives in jeopardy; it is the support and enabling of a president that inspires white nationalist terrorists — and even denies white nationalism is a problem.
The Dayton, Ohio, mass killing is the 32nd “mass killing by firearms” this year. And while Trump continues to demonize Muslims and foreigners, the facts indicate white nationalists are responsible for more deaths than Islamic fundamentalist-inspired killings under this president. The Anti-Defamation League reported:
“In 2018, domestic extremists killed at least 50 people in the U.S., a sharp increase from the 37 extremist-related murders documented in 2017, though still lower than the totals for 2015 (70) and 2016 (72). The 50 deaths make 2018 the fourth-deadliest year on record for domestic extremist-related killings since 1970. The extremist-related murders in 2018 were overwhelmingly linked to right-wing extremists. Every one of the perpetrators had ties to at least one right-wing extremist movement, although one had recently switched to supporting Islamist extremism. White supremacists were responsible for the great majority of the killings, which is typically the case.”
The rise in hate crimes under this president also has been dramatic. The Anti-Defamation League documented, “Right-wing extremists were linked to at least 50 extremist-related murders in the United States in 2018, making them responsible for more deaths than in any year since 1995. . . . Right-wing extremists killed more people in 2018 than in any year since 1995, the year of Timothy McVeigh’s bomb attack on the Oklahoma City federal building.”
Likewise, just a few days ago, a new report explained the magnitude of the problem in cities (which Trump demonizes as “infested” and unlivable):
“Hate crimes in thirty of America’s largest cities rose nine percent in 2018 to a decade high of 2,009, according to police data analyzed by the Center for the Study of Hate & Extremism at California State University, San Bernardino (CSHE). Last year marked the fifth consecutive increase in hate crimes, and the steepest rise since 2015. Seventy percent, or 21 police departments, reported increases, with just under half (47 percent), or 14 agencies, hitting or tying decade highs. 2018 was the only year this decade the cities exceeded 2,000. Partial year 2019 data from 18 cities also shows an overall rise. If forthcoming Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) 2018 hate crime totals replicate this nine percent rise, it will be the fourth consecutive increase and the highest total since the FBI’s 2001’s record.”
This rise comes even as the overall rate of crime decreases. (“In contrast to a 3.5 percent decline in crime overall in major U.S. Cities in 2018 (source), these latest hate crime data mirror a multiyear rise across myriad other representative crime, social science, and digital datasets on prejudice and fragmented intergroup cohesion.”)
In sum, we are awash in hate crimes and white nationalist-inspired mass murders. We have a president whose words inspire and bolster perpetrators of these heinous acts. That makes Trump not only a moral abomination, which no policy outcome can offset, but a threat to national security. Those encouraged by his words in recent years kill more Americans than Islamist terrorists. If that is not justification for bipartisan repudiation of this president and removal from office at the earliest possible moment I don’t know what is. Those who countenance and support this president for his white-grievance mongering are not merely “deplorable” but dangerous.

A gunman armed with a semiautomatic rifle walked into a suburban San Diego County synagogue and opened fire on the congregation Saturday, killing one person and injuring three in an attack that authorities believe was motivated by hate.
A 19-year-old was arrested in connection with the shooting, authorities said. The gunman entered Chabad of Poway on Chabad Way about 11:20 a.m. and started firing.
He was identified as John T. Earnest, a Rancho Penasquitos resident. He is being questioned by homicide detectives.
Earnest appears to have written a letter posted on the Internet filled with anti-Semitic screeds. In the letter, he also talked about planning the attack.
“How long did it take you to plan the attack? Four weeks. Four weeks ago, I decided I was doing this. Four weeks later, I did it.”
Earnest, who is white, wrote that he was willing to sacrifice his future “for the sake of my people.”
In the manifesto, he took credit for an arson fire that blackened the walls of the Islamic Center in Escondido on March 24. There were seven people inside the building at the time the fire erupted about 3:15 a.m. but no one was injured.
The arsonist left a note referring to a shooting rampage at two New Zealand mosques on March 15 that left 50 people dead.
“I scorched a mosque in Escondido with gasoline a week after” the New Zealand shootings, Earnest wrote in his letter. But the people inside “woke up and put out the fire pretty much immediately after I drove away which was unfortunate.”
The suspect also championed Robert Bowers — who killed 11 people and wounded six others in the Tree of Life synagogue shootings in Pittsburgh six months ago — and Adolf Hitler.
Poway Mayor Steve Vaus called the shooting there a “hate crime,” based on statements the shooter was heard making as he entered the synagogue.
A large group of congregants had gathered behind the temple after the shooting, sheriff’s Sgt. Aaron Meleen said. About 100 people were inside the synagogue at the time celebrating Passover.
“As you can imagine, it was an extremely chaotic scene with people running everywhere when we got here,” he said.
An adult woman was killed in the attack and three others — a young female and two adult males — were wounded, authorities said. The injured were taken to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, the Sheriff’s Department said.
As the attacker was fleeing the scene, an off-duty Border Patrol agent who was at the synagogue shot at the suspect’s vehicle, but he got away, authorities said. He was captured a short time later.
Adam Pringle, 32, said he was sitting at a 76 gas station parking lot when a swarm of San Diego police, county sheriff and California Highway Patrol cars descended on the scene less than 50 feet away.
Pringle watched as police officers pulled over the man he believed to be the shooting suspect.
“Hands up or I’ll shoot you!” Pringle heard the officer yell.
The driver quickly put his hands up, and the officer walked over with his gun drawn, Pringle said. The officer quickly arrested the man, Pringle said.
Witnesses said Rabbi Yisroel Godstein was among the injured, reportedly shot in the hand. He apparently kept trying to calm the congregation after being wounded, telling people to stay strong.
“The rabbi and two other people were injured,” said synagogue member Minoo Anvari, whose husband was inside when the shooting broke out. “One guy was shooting at everybody and cursing.”
“One message from all of us in our congregation is that we are standing together. We are getting stronger,” Anvari said. “Never again. You can’t break us. We are strong.
“Why? The question is, why? People are praying.”
President Trump offered condolences from the White House lawn Saturday.
“At this moment it looks like a hate crime,” he said. “My deepest sympathies to all of those affected. And we’ll get to the bottom of it.”
Authorities have cordoned off the area near Rancho Bernardo Road and West Bernardo Drive, about two miles from Chabad of Poway, he said.
Several neighbors reported hearing the gunshots, and some were evacuated from nearby homes to the school temporarily as a precaution.
Cantor Caitlin Bromberg of Ner Tamid Synagogue, which is down the street from Chabad of Poway, said her congregation learned of the shooting at the end of their Passover services. Saturday marked the final day of Passover, a holiday that marks the Jewish people’s exodus from Egypt and freedom from slavery.
Bromberg said her congregants were en route to Chabad of Poway to show support and help in any way they can.
“We are horrified and upset, and we want them to know we are thinking of them,” she told The Times. “The message of the final day of Passover is to be looking forward to … the time when all the world will be at peace.”
Bromberg said someone from the congregation had received a text that there was a shooting at a synagogue in Poway. The person who sent the text did not know which temple was targeted and wanted to make sure the congregant was OK.
The cantor said she has not heard from Chabad of Poway leadership because they would not normally use the phone during the Sabbath.
“They would only do that on emergency basis, if they do it at all,” she said.
Across the street from the synagogue Saturday evening, people left bouquets of flowers on the sidewalk to honor the victims.
Tanya Werby, a member of the Chabad of Poway congregation, said she was planning to take her four-year-old son to the Saturday morning service but ended up staying home.
She has told her son, who attends preschool at the synagogue, that Rabbi Goldstein was was among those wounded in the shooting. But the boy is too young to understand much more.
“It’s heartbreaking,” said Werby, 42, who works at a nonprofit on the synagogue’s campus. “I never expected it to happen at our house of worship.”
Werby said Goldstein was well-known in the area because he often works with leaders of other congregations.
She said she was not surprised by reports that he did his best to defend his congregation after the shooter entered.
“I’m sure he kept his cool. He’s very strong,” Werby said. “He built this community since the 1980s. Everybody knows him. He’s a big part of this community.”
Werby described the woman who was killed as a “very generous person” who was a constant presence at the synagogue.
As the owner of a print shop, the woman donated shirts for a friendship walk and gave money as well, Werby said.
Werby’s friend, Jackie Zucker, drove from Carlsbad to join her after hearing the news.
“People came here in the morning just wanting a lovely Saturday to finish the holiday,” said Zucker, 78. “Instead, this happened. We need to stop this.”
Nami Rajaei, a high school senior who lives nearby, brought a large peach-colored flower for the impromptu memorial.
Two of Rajaei’s classmates at Rancho Bernardo High School placed candles amid the flowers at the memorial.
The three teenagers said their quiet suburban neighborhood, where children are taught to value diversity at school and at their houses of worship, was the last place they expected this to happen.
“It’s shocking to think that this type of thing would happen here,” said Rajaei, 18. “I would like to think that our community is very tolerant.”
In a statement, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum said it was “shocked and alarmed” at the second armed attack on a synagogue in the United States in six months, this time on the on the last day of Passover.
“Now our thoughts are with the victims and their loved ones,” Museum Director Sara J. Bloomfield said. “But moving forward this must serve as yet another wake-up call that antisemitism is a growing and deadly menace.
“The Holocaust is a reminder of the dangers of unchecked antisemitism and the way hate can infect a society. All Americans must unequivocally condemn it and confront it in wherever it appears.”
San Diego police were keeping watch on other local synagogues as a precaution. “No known threats,” Chief David Nisleit said on Twitter, “however in an abundance of caution, we will be providing extra patrol at places of worship.”
In Los Angeles, police said they were closely monitoring the synagogue shooting in Poway and “communicating with our local, state and federal partners.”
“At this time, there’s no nexus to Los Angeles, but in an abundance of caution, we will conduct high visibility patrols around synagogues and other houses of worship,” the department tweeted.
Passover is one of the most sacred holidays in the Jewish faith. The eight-day festival is typically observed with a number of rituals, including Seder meals, the removal of leavened products from the home and the sharing of the exodus story.
The attack comes six months after a man with a history of posting anti-Semitic and anti-immigrant social media messages opened fire at a temple in Pittsburgh, killing 11 people and wounding six more.
The Anti-Defamation League called that incident “the deadliest attack on the Jewish community in the history of the United States” and it underscored growing hate against Jews.
The leaders of many national Jewish groups heard about the attack hours after it happened because they were observing the Sabbath and last day of Passover.
“This shooting is a reminder of the enduring virulence of anti-Semitism,” Jonathan Greenblatt, president and CEO of the Anti-Defamation League, said in a statement. “It must serve as a call to action for us as a society to deal once and for all with this hate. People of all faiths should not have to live in fear of going to their house of worship. From Charleston to Pittsburgh to Oak Creek and from Christchurch to Sri Lanka, and now Poway, we need to say ‘enough is enough.’ Our leaders need to stand united against hate and address it both on social media and in our communities.”
Michael Masters, CEO of the Secure Community Network, an group that offers training and resources to synagogues on security, said his group was working with local and federal officials to help the Poway community.
“We remind synagogues and Jewish facilities everywhere that we must take steps to prevent and protect against attacks,” he said in a statement. “Today’s shooting is a sad reminder that the need has not gone away.”

I have no idea if you can do this or not, but would it be possible for you guys to cast a healing spell for the victims of the Christchurch attacks? Just so that their minds can feel a bit better. Or if you have anything else in mind, feel free to do it. Thanks.
Oh wow, that’s quite an ask. A wonderful, but overwhelming, request.
I’ve never done something on this scale before, but I certainly can try. If it can reach anyone affected by the attacks and help to provide even the smallest amount of comfort, I’m more than happy to try.
My heart goes out to the victims and their families. It truly does. ❤
The object of this spell is twofold. For those affected by the attacks, it is intended to provide comfort and healing to its user. To those wanting to send support, it is intended to send out protective and loving energies.
When charging this spell for yourself, it is important to focus internally. Turn your energies inward, and tell yourself what you want this spell to produce within you. Say it as though it is already true; as though you have no doubts that this spell will work. Say things like “I will heal from these events,” or “You are safe and loved,” depending on your intent. Be sure to be in a genuinely positive mindset while imbuing the spell with this energy. These positive energies will be amplified threefold and brought back to you when the spell takes effect.
In order to get into the correct mindset, I like to listen to emotionally appropriate music. For this spell, I listened to songs of connection like “All You Need Is Love” by The Beatles. I’d recommend trying this if you feel you are struggling with focusing your energies. It is also easier to strengthen your thoughts while viewing one focal point. I use my glass ball for this, which I would recommend you focus on as well while using this altar spell.
The meanings of each piece of the altar are detailed below the cut.

Tumblr, I need your help y'all:
Hey everybody. My name is Temisan Adoki, I'm 34 years old, a veteran electronic dance music producer of 22 years this year, DJ of 20 years this month, and the man that's been behind The Bones Of Houdini blog for 8 years now. I'm just going to use this time to talk about something serious.
If you were following me on Twitter, you would know I have been suspended from the platform two weeks and some change ago. The reason I was suspended was for "hateful conduct" and I was not given a reason why. Which is funny, cause:
1) I'm Black (if yall wanna get technical I'm a first generation African/West Indian American) and use Twitter to talk about Black people things and stuff. That includes discussions of race and racism. And I got love for all people (just not racists...at all).
2) I've used my Twitter account for the opposite reason. I've used my Twitter account to openly condemn racism & white supremacy on a consistent basis and shit on bigots, sexists, misogynists, fascists, homophobes, transphobia, classist and other evils plaguing our society.
3) Twitter has just become filled to the brim with excessive amounts of racism, anti-semitism, Islamophobia, and open bigotry and not only is racism and hate speech protected, but Nazis and other white supremacists get verified and have nice little blue checks next to their names and manage to amass followings of tens even hundreds of thousands. If the "hateful conduct" policy/standard on Twitter were evenely and rightfully applied, then many alt-right far-right pundits who actually engage in "hateful conduct" would of had their accounts 86'd already. But the fact they still are active on the service shows how much Twitter goes out of their way to satisfy racist white conservatives and hateful far right entities by throwing POC to the wolves.
Either way, the handwaving of white supremacy and Nazis and protection of hate & bigotry on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, and on social media in general is DISGUSTING!!!! It does nothing but empower others to be more outwardly hateful outside of social media and gives validation to the next generation of domestic terrorists. Especially when the pundits espousing those hateful views are given immunities, protections, and a verified platform. We don't need to have another Tree Of Life Synagogue shooting, or a Christchurch, New Zealand mosque shooting, or another Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, VA to get the point across that giving hate platforms on social media only creates an unsafe atmosphere for its users.
In the past two years since Trump was inaugurated, I've had to block over 50 racist trolls from my Twitter account and dealt with consistent amounts of harassment. one even took my picture to use in their profile. I reported them and they were not suspended. I reported these racist troll accounts and they were never suspended and I was told they didn't violate Twitter's TOS. One of them even got my email and phone number and was sending me messages saying "the alt-right is watching"...trying to use fear and intimidation tactics like using pictures of the KKK in their profile like they was doing something impressive. And some of them even tried to extort me and my family for $3,000 (they didn't get a goddamn dime) simply because I openly talked about diversity & inclusion issues and racism in the electronic dance music world. And because I am 1000% ANTI-TRUMP! Another troll pretended to pose as a police officer and threatened to put fake charges on my Father if I didn't delete my Twitter account. I've also had my account temporarily suspended because racists went on targeted harassment campaigns reporting my tweets as something they were in an effort to get me removed from the site.
So yes...please share reblog and like this to spread awareness.
I talked about what went on on my Medium account when I was suspended because, I'll be Frank this put me in a state of depression. That's why it took me so long to even discuss this on my tumblr blog yall. I worked on my Twitter account for 10 years and all that work got wiped out because there is or I guess has been a concentrated efforts of some sort to try to derail my musical career by some salty racists or racist that just doesn't want Black people in EDM. I never thought I would ever have to go through anything like that...but no matter what life throws at you you can't give up. And I won't be silenced.
Either way, I refuse to give up. I support those who support me. Thanks for everything. Thanks to the fans and followers. And thanks to all the communities that have went out of their way to show love.
