New Day, New Story || OPEN
Kasumiâs long travels had just recently come to an end. He had arrived at his destination: Tabula Rasa, the city of Supernaturals. He still had yet to find a place to live, and had been roaming the streets for the past few nights. It wasnât a huge problem, since he could go a few days without sleeping, but he was exhausted mostly from the stress of travel and being in a new place. The city was crowded, something Kasumi had expected but wasnât prepared for. Heâd been wearing his sweatshirt and headphones all day, as if they were a shield between him and the busy city. Heâd hidden his wings and halo away as wellâ they just got in the way most of the time. Â
The young angel at last found himself at a relatively quiet placeâ a park. With a small sigh of relief, he set down his bag on a bench and pulled out a book and his trusty pen. He began to flip through the book, enjoying the quiet atmosphere of the park and the wind flowing softly through his hair. He would occasionally look up to observe his surroundings; he was still a little on edge in this new place, so his music was off, too.
Sensing someone near him, he paused a moment, but didnât look up. His blue eyes stayed locked on the page and a small smile on his lips as he said quietly to whoever was listening,
âA book is an adventure that you can hold in your hands. Fascinating, isnât it?âÂ

kiki-wiccanâ:
âOh wow! Welcome to Tabula! Iâm still sorta new myself. I moved here not long ago, itâs a wonderful city Iâm positive youâll love it here! and oh no you have nowhere to stay?â She furrowed her brows and frowned. Of course she didnât know who this person was yet, but by the few words they had already exchanged she could tell he wasnât a threat. âWell I have an extra room at my apartment you could always stay for a few days while you try and find a place to live!â Of course leave it to Kiki to offer such a thing to someone she just met. âWeird? Not at all I think it looks magical! I wonder how Iâd look with white hairâŚ.Iâm guessing you arenât human though if thatâs your natural hair color?â She didnât seem bothered by the fact, if anything she seemed to be curious as to what supernatural this new person was. âIâm Kiki by the way itâs nice to meet you!â
Kasumi stared in disbelief at the bundle of energy sitting next to him. Was she serious? Heâd never hears so many words from a human at once. Not spoken to him, at least.  âYou...â he said slowly. âYou mean me?â he asked, cautiously pointing to himself. Suddenly his blue eyes sparkled and he grabbed her hands. âCould I really stay with you? Just until I find my own place? Positively exquisite!â he cheered, beaming at her.  âThank you so much! How may I make this up to you? Are you looking for something in return? Wait--â he paused.Â
âHow did you guess my identity by just my hair?â he said quietly, his smile fading just a touch. But this girl didnât seem to be a threat, and had already offered him what he needed most at the moment.  He looked around, making sure there werenât any others nearby that could possibly be listening. When he found none, he leaned in a little closer to her and whispered,  âItâs because Iâm an angel.â Â
He leaned away again, and leg go of her hands, scratching the back of his head.  âI am named Kasumi. It is a pleasure to meet you, Kiki.â
Kasumi looked up from his book to see a young woman sitting next to him. Â Her smile brought a shy smile to his own face. Â But what she said was curious to him. He didnât sleep much, but when he did his dreams were mostly the same. Heâd heard of human dreams before, though, and guessed that this girl had them or at least something similar. Â He set his book down and turned slightly to face her.
âSpoken like a true dreamer!â he said cheerfully. Â âAnd youâve guessed correctly-- I arrived here just a few days ago. I still have yet to find a place to stay...â He drifted off, scratching the back of his head. Â âAnyways. Hair? Yes. Itâs natural. Is that... weird?â he asked, grabbing at the hood of his jacket as if he were going to hide it.Â

Kasumiâs Past, Part 1 || Mother {Self-write}
       Velossfaeniel was a beautiful angel with hair and skin as pale as snow. Her husband, Lancaeron, was a strong man with a voice as deep as the sea and arms as strong as tidal waves. While Velossfaeniel was pregnant, they were sent to Japan on a mission. They were to investigate and help out the Tenninâ Japanese angels, who were their comrades. Something had gone wrong, and the Tennin had asked for help from their western relatives. Something about⌠âAkuma.â Malevolent fire spirits, on an equivalent level of demons in western culture. Though the Japanese culture had many Yokai that the Tennin had to worry about, the Akuma had suddenly grown fierce, thanks to the constant warring of 19th century Japan. Â
       The angel couple had been sent alone, just to check up on the area to see exactly what was going on. If needed, they world report back to heaven for reinforcements. They settled in the midst of a foggy forest in the Fukushima District to meet up with the Tennin that called them. Yet what was supposed to be a meeting turned out to be a long campaign of spying and discussions, trying to figure out where the threat was coming from. In the midst of this chaos, Beriotherion was born. Â
       Spies as they were, the angels needed to blend in. They used magic to conceal their wings and halos, and Velossfaeniel used illusion magic to turn her skin a little darker and her hair a dark brown. Otherwise, the local Japanese, who did not yet welcome foreigners to their lands, would be suspicious of the shining western angels. Additionally, the angels were given codenamesâ Velossfaeniel, whose name meant âwhite as snow,â was given the name âYuki,â meaning simple âsnow.â Lancaeron, âedge of the seaâ, was given âUmiâ for âseaâ.  Beriotherion, the âprotective warrior,â was just a baby child, whom they left guarded by the foggy forest. When they mentioned his name, they called him âKasumi,â for âMist.â The names were simple, yet the angels only had learned a base level of Japanese, being young and busy as they were. When asked for a surname, the confused angels who had no such thing simply replied âTenshi.âÂ
       This was the manner in which Beriotherion grew up. He was rarely called his true name, being that his parents were almost always out on missions. He was instead cared for by the animals that roamed the forest. Yet on the days when his mother returned to him, he was the happiest child in the world. She would take him out to see the castles, the warriors, and the nature that surrounded them in Fukushima. He saw war, strife, anguish, anger, hatredâ and also felt the love of the humans that cared for their injured, the power with which they commanded their soldiers, the undying loyalty of the samurai and daimyĹ, and he soaked in all of these emotions. His mother taught him the language of angels when she had a chance, and he learned to read and write it quickly, as well as the Japanese he was surrounded by. In his free time, he would read the books she brought him, and drink the tea she made.Â
       Beriotherion loved his mother dearly, and though she was not around much, she would often send him letters of her and his fatherâs activities. He kept these precious letters in a box that heâd bought at the market one day. It was a reminder of his two parents, and the love that they had for him and for each other. Yet one day, his mother came home alone, weeping.Â
âBeriotherion, my love⌠your father has been taken.â Â
       His mother sat beside him, in her true, pure white form, with tears streaming down her cheeks. Beriotherion was at a loss for what to say, but wrapped his tiny arms around her. He knew in the back of his mind that things would only get harder for her, and he wished nothing more than to help her. Yet she insisted he stay hidden, unwilling to let him face the dangers that had brought her to her knees.Â
       Her letters over the next few days became less frequent, but more urgent. Then suddenly;
âIâm on the run. My darling, do not leave the forest. Wait for me, please.âÂ
       After that, the letters stopped altogether. Beriotherionâs love for his mother kept him in place, and he did not leave the forest. Yet he had never before felt so alone.Â
