I’m probably a bad person for laughing at Akechi’s rank 6 because I get that it’s a very serious subject, but the fact that Akechi tells you this in the BATHHOUSE of all places while joker just kinda sits there awkwardly will never not be funny to me— Akechi, I love you, but please wait until we have clothes on to trauma dump.

Honestly I got introduced to Persona by a friend's Shuake content but I feel like the bathhouse has gotta be mentioned because shoutout to traumadumping. I wish I could say "honey I'm home" bc it's iconic but no it was already established by then

The bathhouse scene needs to be studied... like I know going to the bathhouse with the homies isn't gay by itself but the way they were facing each other the whole time like cmon

I mean honestlyyyy the bathhouse scene fr. As you mentioned in a previous post there needs to be an ✨analysis✨ of that scene and I completely agree. It’s my personal opinion that rank 6 being in a bathhouse is no coincidence! Both Akiren and Akechi are in a metaphorical “fog”. Akechi specifically (I think) is briefly forgetting that he’s the Black Mask AND the Detective Prince for that moment. In that moment as a fellow Shuake enjoyer I like to believe Akechi wants Akiren to be more than a friend. He’s warming up to Akiren and it all comes to a head in the bathhouse.

Then of course there’s the traumadumping. That implies to me that Akechi briefly feels comfortable to open up just once. And let’s be honest—that’s probably one of the only times Akechi ever opens up to ANYONE. It’s very obvious in the way he quickly backpedals after the dump. To explain why he does that is a post in itself, but I think the fact that Akechi finds it within himself to trust in Akiren during that rank, even if it’s just for a short while, is why shuake is canon for me 💚💚🙏🏻🙏🏻

OH and the “love at first sight” scene in the anime where Akechi sees Akiren on the train because akskddjrndnm

YES I agree with all of that!! it's just all so masterfully written sdvnsbdhsbnd I can't wait to get my hands on the new manga volumes so I can read all the social link scenes again from a different perspective >:3
