The People's Credit Repair Coconut Creek

Phone No: (786) 591-1771
There are many companies which sell credit repair tips and solutions. There are software programs, books, newsletters and a range of services directed at those who are in need of bad credit history repair. But, the best credit repair tips and solutions are the free ones, at least in the opinion of this writer.
Did you know that the three major credit bureaus, Experian, Equifax and TransUnion, are required to provide consumers with one free copy of their credit report every year? If not, you are not alone. Some people know that the reports are available, but do not know where or how to obtain copies. Companies which sell credit repair tips and solutions often sell information about where to obtain copies of your credit reports. They often advertise in such a way as to lure in consumers who are looking for bad credit history repair or just the free annual report that they are entitled to by law.
Older books containing credit repair tips and solutions will not have this address. It was created by the three major credit bureaus in response to a recently enacted law, so anything that was written before 2005 will not have this information. If you are attempting bad credit history repair on your own, then you will want to visit this site first. There is no charge for these reports, but the credit bureaus are allowed to promote credit repair tips and solutions that they sell on this site. Just click no thanks on the offers until you get to a secure site where you can enter your personal information. Most credit repair tips and solutions offered by the credit bureaus will not help you achieve bad credit history repair.
Bad credit history repair can be a frustrating and time consuming process. In order to avoid a little frustration, have your personal information available when you visit the credit report site. In order to verify your identity, you will be asked certain questions about past or present accounts or previous addresses. And, make sure that you spell the website address correctly or you may end up at an impostor site. One impostor site sells credit repair tips and solutions and information about bad credit history repair, but does not provide you with your credit reports. Another impostor site calls their monthly newsletter "My Free Credit Report". All of this is an attempt by businesses to confuse consumers, causing more frustration and lost time.
After you pass up all the offers, enter your personal information and finally get to view your credit reports, you may be surprised. There may be a lot of information on your credit report or just a little, depending on the types of credit that you have and the length of time that you have been using credit. You may be expecting to see a "credit score". If so, you will be disappointed. The free credit reports provided by the credit bureaus do not include your FICO or any other relevant scores. They contain information that is used to calculate your credit scores. When you are trying to achieve bad credit history repair, you may run into a number of little disappointments and frustrations. Be prepared.
If you actually want to view your credit score, the number most commonly used by creditors is the FICO score. FICO also sells credit repair tips and solutions and they charge consumers to view their own credit score. They charge lenders and financial institutions as well, but it does seem that consumers should be able to see this information without being charged. Since that is not the case, be ready with a credit card. You can use a prepaid or a secured credit card if you do not have another type. If you do not qualify for a regular credit card, get a secured card. The FICO credit tips and solutions suggest that a secured credit card which is handled properly will help you repair bad credit history over time. This is not an immediate fix, but if you credit score is very low, then it is a good idea to build "good" credit history as you attempt to repair "bad" credit history.

How to get a Credit Score (and keep it good) from an “Adult”
Okay I can’t sleep so I’m just going to write this out now.
If you’re in a situation where you need a credit score but don’t have one and aren’t sure how to do it, let me fill you in on how I got my score, and this is in the span of like 2 years.Â
This is my credit score! Wow! Neato right?
So Transunion and Equifax are two large credit reporting agencies, Experian being another. Here’s more info on what they do and where these numbers come from because honestly I’m kind of an idiot in the department of knowing what all those difficult terms mean.
First off, let’s check if you have a score at all! I use Credit Karma because unlike a lot of places, they don’t charge you for checking your credit report more than once a year (yeah idk WHY they do that for most places but they do and it’s... ugh).Â
If you’re a student and you have student loans to pay back, that shows up in your credit report because it’s under your SSN (social security number). This was the first account I had in terms of any credit reporting. If you pay back any loans you have (I’ve paid off 2 out of 6), that reflects well on your credit score. Luckily, me being poor, my monthly payment for financial aid is $0. If yours is not, I hope you’re paying the minimum monthly payment on time because that’s going to reflect on your credit score.
The key to maintaining good credit is to not fuck it up. And by fucking it up I mean by missing payments. Now I, not the brightest bulb in the tanning bed, am lucky to not have had a dip in credit due to forgetting a payment. Some of you may not be so lucky. If you are one of those unlucky people, I honestly don’t know what to do in that situation other than to try and rectify the late payment by never paying late again.
THIS POST IS FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE NO CREDIT AND WANT TO LEARN HOW TO GET GOOD CREDIT.
Now that I’ve got that out of the way... let’s continue.
So if you’re a frequent user of Amazon, you might have the Amazon Store Card suggested to you. I decided to get one for fun, but here’s the thing you need to remember about all credit cards:
APR - Annual Percentage Rate, aka “APR is the combination of the nominal interest rate and any other costs or fees involved in procuring the loan”. If you’re getting a credit card for the first time I HIGHLY recommend getting a card that has 0% APR for at least a year. These aren’t hard to find. It allows you to have no interest for a certain amount of time and you should be a-ok if you pay off the amount on the card by then.
Annual fee - DON’T GET A CARD WITH AN ANNUAL FEE IF YOU’RE GETTING A CREDIT CARD FOR THE FIRST TIME
Minimum repayment - when you use your credit card, the money adds up. And when the money adds up, you must pay it back. And each credit card has a time at which you must pay a MINIMUM amount every month in order to keep your credit score good.Â
Loyalty points - depending on your card, these points can be put towards things like travel and even paying off some of your credit. Neato!
Cash back - If you use your cards at certain places they can give you a small percentage of cash back!
EXAMPLE SCENARIO: Say you’ve spent $200 this month and your minimum monthly payment is $25 due on the 16th. You better pay that $25 or your score will go down! Now if you pay say, $55 around the 16th or say you pay $200-- then your score will go up! But if you forget to pay by the 16th, then you may incur a late fee of an extra $38! Oh no!
EXAMPLE 2: You have a credit card that has 0% APR for 12 months. In that time you accrue $500 in credit card debt. Before the 12 months is up, you pay it off. Yaay! No interest! You’re good! But after that time the APR becomes 26.0%! Uh oh! Interest can pile up fast! So what do you do if you’ve paid off your card and now the APR is too high to keep using it? Well you can always abandon the card. That’s what I was told to do. Just stop using it. Get a new one. But don’t close the account because that can apparently reflect badly. I’ve all but abandoned my Amazon Store Card by this point but they don’t charge you for NOT using the card. So just abandon it. Don’t use it. Forget it ever existed.
Ever get things in the mail by Discover or CapitalOne? Encouraging you to make a credit card? Well look through them! I got my first actual physical can-use-everywhere-other-than-just-Amazon credit card through CapitalOne because they sent me stuff by snail mail! Just having one card can help boost your score, just be sure to choose a card with 0% APR for a certain time and no annual fee!
But what do you use the credit card on? How do you use it wisely? Well here’s the deal:
Only use it to pay for essentials!!!!
So your phone bill, rent, groceries, etc. Don’t over-spend, buy the essentials with your credit card instead of your debit card and then pay it off each month! Unless you’re good at balancing your checkbook*, don’t over-spend! Just because the credit card gives you an $8000 spending limit doesn’t mean you should spend $8000 at once!!!!!! Stay within your budget!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do this for a while and watch your score go up! You’re using Credit Karma right? Well the higher your score, the more cards they suggest to you! Then you can open a 2nd one like I did (I got an American Express card with no annual fee, got myself 10,000 bonus points!)Â
If you’re not wise with your money then please... wisen up. People check your credit score when moving into a new place and if yours is bad, it can really hinder your ability to find a place to live, even if you have great income.Â
Another thing about credit scores-- numbers fluctuate. Just because it goes down 2 points doesn’t mean it can’t go back up. Don’t fret, just make sure you pay off those debts!!!!
This is literally all I know about credit cards and credit scores. I’m not an expert. I’m your friendly neighborhood crying-most-nights adult. This is how I do it, and I’m sure many other people have their own tips for you! Please contribute in the comments! Ask me to clarify if necessary! Let’s be friendly and kick capitalism’s butt together!Â
* If you don’t know what balancing your checkbook is, it is just you monitoring what you earn and what you spend in your bank account. Sure your bank account does that for you, but I recommend making a spreadsheet and doing it yourself. That makes it easier for you to add up how much you spend in a month vs. how much you make, etc. so you don’t go over your budget. I can also create a post about that if need be.

How to get a credit card with bad credit
CNN –
CNN Underscored checks financial products like credit cards and bank accounts based on their total value. We may receive a commission through the LendingTree partner network when you apply for a card and are approved, but our reporting is always independent and objective.
If you have “bad” credit scores, you may be surprised that a new credit card can actually help. If you can be approved for a new card in spite of a bad credit rating, you have the chance, with responsible handling, to build up better credit behavior and a better credit rating. Additionally, adding a new card can improve your credit utilization and credit score if you are already in debt.
Unfortunately, credit card options are a bit scarce for people with poor credit ratings, and the cards in this niche tend to have few benefits. Bad credit cards can also come with fees and high interest rates that can make balancing a costly endeavor.
But with all that has been said, it is important to understand that some credit cards are significantly better than others for bad credit. So let’s take a look at the types of credit cards you may be eligible for if you have bad credit and how you can use them to your advantage.
Click here for the latest list of the best credit cards for people with bad credit scores.
If you have bad credit, you probably already know it. After all, poor credit usually means that you have been denied a credit card or other credit in the past. You probably also know the reason why your creditworthiness was poor to begin with, whether it’s a default on a loan, credit card, bankruptcy collection, or bankruptcy on file.
But even if they do, it never hurts to do a credit check so you know exactly where you stand. Fortunately, there are a few ways you can do a credit check for free.
Connected: How can you check your credit score?
iStock
You probably already know the reasons for your bad credit score, but knowing the exact number is the first step in improving it.
You can start by signing up with a credit monitoring service that offers a free credit score or a program that offers free credit tracking tools. For example, Capital One’s CreditWise gives consumers a free look at their TransUnion VantageScore 3.0, and you don’t have to be a customer to use it.
While working on your credit score, probably the most important thing to watch out for is your FICO credit score as it is the most widely used rating model. The FICO credit scores range from 300 to 850 and are broken down into the following levels:
Exceptional: 800 and higher
Very good: 740 to 799
Good: 670 to 739
Mass: 580 to 669
Bad: 579 and lower
While a really “bad” credit score is a FICO score of 580 or less, a “fair” credit score between 580 and 669 is still below average when compared to other US consumers. If your credit score falls into any of these categories, there are steps you should take to improve it as soon as possible.
Check to see if you qualify for one of these credit cards for those with reasonable creditworthiness.
If you have poor credit, you can qualify for two different types of credit cards – secured credit cards and unsecured credit cards.
Secured credit cards are usually easiest to come by when you have poor credit. However, secure credit cards require a cash deposit to get started. This means you may have to put $ 200, $ 500, or more on deposit as collateral, and you’ll usually be given a low credit limit that is equal to or close to your deposit.
The biggest advantage of secured credit cards is that they are usually reported to the major credit bureaus. This means that all of your on-time payments will be added to your credit report, which can help increase your credit score over time. And even if you need to make a cash deposit to open a secured card, your deposit will be refunded if you later close the account or upgrade it in good condition with $ 0 in balance.
In addition to secured credit cards, you may also be able to qualify for an unsecured credit card with poor credit ratings. These cards usually come with fees, low credit limits, and few perks, but they can still help you build credit.

If you have bad credit, make sure you get a new credit card for all the right reasons.
Before getting a new credit card, make sure you understand what you want to achieve. While a credit card gives you an opportunity to improve your credit score, if you are unwilling to take responsibility, you could go down the drain on your credit score. Therefore, ask yourself these questions before applying:
Do I plan to carry a credit? If you want a credit card so that you can maintain a balance, you should know that bad credit cards come with high interest rates. Additionally, secured credit cards require you to put cash on deposit as collateral so they are not a good option when you need a loan.
Am I interested in rewards? Some credit cards for people with poor credit ratings offer an opportunity to earn rewards for your expenses. While rewards can be lucrative, keep in mind that they often trick people into spending more than they planned to.
Do I want to pay an annual fee? Not all credit cards for people with bad credit have annual fees, but some do. If you decide to pay an annual fee, make sure that you get all the benefits you get in exchange for yourself.
Am i ready to take my creditworthiness seriously? A new credit card gives you the opportunity to improve your balance, but this does not happen automatically. Getting a new credit card usually only helps if you keep your credit low and always pay your bill on time.
The best bad credit credit cards may not seem very attractive, but the goal is to use them to improve your credit score so that you can qualify for better deals later. But there are a few “episodes” to watch out for and to watch out for, including:
feesWhile you should try to avoid annual fees, you should also be aware that some credit cards, especially those for those with poor credit ratings, attempt to charge an account opening fee or a program fee. Avoid these offers as much as possible.
High annual percentage rate: Watch out for high interest rates that can make carrying debt incredibly costly. In fact, if you’re looking to use a credit card to improve your credit score, try avoiding any balance on the new card entirely.
Credit failure: Finally, watch out for mistakes that affect your creditworthiness in the first place. The worst thing you can do is pay your credit card bill late as it will have a huge negative impact on your credit score, so avoid it at all costs.
Compare available credit card offers for those with fair credit.
iStock
Using a new credit card wisely can improve your bad credit score.
If your goal is to get a new credit card to rebuild your credit, the first thing you need to know and understand is how your credit score is determined. Let’s take a closer look at the five factors that make up your FICO credit score:
Payment history: 35%
Amounts owed: 30%
Loan History Duration: 15%
New credit: 10%
Credit mix: 10%
By looking at these factors, you can easily see what your next steps should be. Most importantly, you should strive to pay your credit card bill – and all of your other bills – on time each month. Also, keep your debt to a minimum, as the amount you owe in relation to your credit limits is 30% of your FICO score, also known as your “credit utilization rate.”
Since any credit card that you get with poor credit is likely to have a low credit limit to begin with, you need to take extra care not to hit your credit limit and to pay off as much of your balance as you can each month to keep your credit usage low .
Keeping older credit accounts open and in good condition can also increase the length of your credit history, and keep your new credit score high by avoiding opening too many new accounts.
Your credit mix is one final category to keep in mind, but you may not have too many different types of credit – like installment loans like a mortgage or a car loan – if your credit rating is reasonable or poor. Once you have improved your credit score, you can be more concerned with diversifying your credit with installment loans, revolving accounts, and other types of credit.
In the end, if you want to buy a new credit card to improve your bad credit score, you need to make sure you aren’t making the same mistakes that led you to a problem. So if you do decide to apply for a new credit card, be smart about how you are using it. Don’t over-spend, late-pay your bills, and avoid high-fee cards so you can get back on track with good credit.
