this page still makes me lose my mind specifically from the gender perspective. no i can't articulate why, it just does.
#yashiro's fantasies with doumeki normally don't include himself (unless he's remembering something that happened)#and the fact that it's just a kiss too#this woman didn't need to be here. she didn't need to be so prominent specifically in the panel with the kiss. and yet#i don't even think it's her when yashiro imagines doumeki with a woman later this chapter either. the hairstyle looks a bit different#i assume the intended reading is something along the lines of doumeki “choosing” yashiro and we can circle back to internalized homophobia#but once again it's so so vague. the manga should be called “interpret it as you will” honestly#saezuru tag#trans yashiro folder

you see, talking about transgender reading of yashiro inevitably leads to talking about his bisexulity, which is another thing that you could kind of hand wave and people generally prefer not to aknowledge
#as a bisexual with a heavy preference whose sexuality fully clicked only after getting the gender question out of the way#i'm willing to die on this hill because it all makes a lot of sense to me and i can speak from experience#but again. you can hand wave it with “it's yashiro's internalized homophobia” i guess. which i'm personally not a huge fan of but eh#it's the same conversation about gender where you could pick and choose the explanation you prefer and neither goes against canon really#i'm just going for the less fandom friendly ones lmao#saezuru tag#trans yashiro folder
