lrt me thinking a lot about kadin because I have actually dabbled in shipping them more, and experimenting with their orientation a lot and such things

because i've had them as aroace for a while, but like. You know in that way characters just kinda... go off on their own sometimes? Yeah, I just follow and see where that goes HGFDFGH

they're still aroace APECTRUM, or-- specifically, Very Asexual, Aromantic-spectrum on some level. But it's also like. Combined with their attachment isues and not being able to tell what they're feeling too. (Quoiromantic might fit? But. Putting a specific label for where in the aromantic spectrum they fall is a bit hard because of all that.)

...that being said, they aren't my only character Ace and Aro-somewhere. I've got other AroAce characters, and characters all across that spectrum. I just do also ponder stuff, y'know?

Like I ponder Kai's / Kadin's gender a lot too--like regardless of everything, they are trans and nonbinary. Model intended and referred to masculine-wise early early on. And they like to present in whatever ways makes them comfortable.

Sometimes they lean more feminine! Sometimes more androgynous. Rarely purposefully-intended masculine, but could lean there too.

I feel like in the Future for them, they probably mess around with presentation even more with their abilities.

About my personal comic project. I wanna talk about it and just try to get my brain working again. Previous posts and art.

Don't worry if this don't make sense. This project is partly a therapy work... I just wanna talk about it. Traumatized OCs below

I have four sample pages written and thumbnailed... I don't know if they'll be the start of the story. Like, use them more as a prelude since they're an intro to Kadin in particular. He needs at least four pages to explain the shitshow. It leaves out his fucked up creation since he doesn't even know about it and it's written from Nathan's POV. Nathan only knows what Kadin has told him. Kadin's creation being a literal accident, he has no special purpose, he wasn't meant to exist. The anti-chosen one trope.

So, the story mostly revolves around Kadin and Nathan. The main antagonist being Hoyt/Shane Tolliver, the only other living being made similarly to Kadin. I talk about them more here. The main part of this being.... Kadin has nearly unimaginable power but lacks any understanding to use it. Everyone who has the slightest idea of his potential tries to control him. Hoyt being the worst offender. So much so, he's spent the last 100 years trying to hunt Kadin down after their "breakup."

Yes, the whole story is about overcoming trauma.

Now back to Nathan, he doesn't have anything special about him supernaturally speaking. He happens to be a trans dude. But what is special about him is he's the only one Kadin has really connected with in decades. Their story isn't a love story. It's more about two very lost people finding someone who understands them. Like, they can be shippable BUT I intend for more of a deep bond than anything sexual. For Kadin, relationships without sex involved mean more. Sex is an activity he's more or less compelled to do. More like an addiction than meaningful.

ANYWAY. Nathan is a character I've revamped a million times over the years. At one point he was an assassin. He's not an assassin this time.... he's an electrician. He's still has seen some Shit. He's very calm and collected. He's the guy who comes up with the plans that work. Kadin is the guy who comes up with plans that somehow end in an explosion.

Nathan is Kadin's emotional support human and Kadin is his emotional support demon.

So, a lot of the story will be about them in that regard.

Conrad (tentacle monster/theologian) will be a new introduction after the story starts. The only "expert" willing to human some crazy "what-if"s and actually look at some weird sigils. Now, Conrad will be an interesting addition when it comes to Hoyt trying to fuck with things. Hoyt's fun set of powers won't work on him. Because at some point he will try to use Conrad to get to Kadin and it fails. When that takes place is probably way down the timeline.

My outline is still very much in flux. I've been shuffling around events. Adding and removing some. I still have an overarching goal...it's just filling in the inbetweens.

My original plan was to come up with a 25 page script and then see how things shake out. If I would want to keep producing it in comic form or just keep it as written.... I'm not much of a novel writer, I say, writing 6k words for fun. But seriously, writing isn't what I consider my strong point. I do better showing with art. BUT writing only is less work than producing a webcomic as a one person show.

There’s something about trying to decide on a name I want to be called, when even if I really like a name I’m looking at, I still don’t feel a connection to any of them. Kadin was the first I picked and helped me through a time of realizing I wasn’t cis, Avi was a fun nickname and stolen from a side character in a podcast, it holds a lot of good memories, Sammy was something I liked for a long time and is just nice. 

But there’s also just a feeling of disconnect from things like this, I don’t feel connected to them in a way other trans people feel? At least that’s the best way I can put this in my limited capacity to talk about this sort of thing. Granted, I feel a disconnect from a lot of things, but something about names in general. That’s just a big one, and I never knew why.
