ahh so i just got to the ep in xxxholic where they show doumeki dressed as a girl when he was young and ofc skjdjsj watanukis mind instantly goes to 😏😏😏blackmail......and zoomed straight past any afab possiblity bc i imagine he wouldnt.......probly even know about that lmao idk. i do love a trans yuuko, and also a trans watanuki himself!!!! but its so interesting to think of how watanuki uses himawari as his ideal girlie to fawn over and then going thru the process of seeing doumeki as a girl (and all the transphobia that would incur but like, for the plot), then a used-to-be-girl (and all the misunderstandings and learning etc), and then maybe he tries to go overboard and say ohhh doumeki ur so much moreeee of a man than meee (with all of watanukis feelingns of inadequecy and his own ~feminine~ behavior and his feelings about all that...AND THEN finally just accepting doumeki as a regular guy.........EXCEPT HES NOT bc hes not regular doumeki ur /not/ just another guy to me youre......different (cue doumeki being his canon smart n aware self and getting /exactly/ what watanuki means but deciding to fuck with him anyways.....cue watanuki flailing about trying extraextra hard to explain what he means and eventually doumeki rolling his eyes, calling him an idiot, then kissing him
