to her, climbing in and out of windows wasn’t a big deal. she’s climbed out of her own a million times when atticus was asleep to go somewhere she shouldn’t be. besides, edmund’s was easier to get into than hers. it was practically begging her to climb through. stepping into his room, through the window and into his room with quiet laughing to not wake up anyone else, she looked around at what it all looked like. a person’s room said a lot about them. “i came by ‘cause i had an idea and i knew atticus wouldn’t let me come over this late.” maybe he could hear the keys jingling in her pocket. “and i wanted to see your room.” that part was just a bonus for her.

well, some of them are actually mothers in canon! andromeda and meg both have children in their own timelines. so probably andromeda, meg, cosette, and roslin are probably at the top of that list.

28. can you sort your muses from weakest to strongest?

i mean i COULD but it would be such a complicated list? because i’d be compelled to sort them physically, mentally, emotionally, and then by like six other subgroups. i mean, some of my girls (rosamund, roslin, meg, etc) certainly aren’t the fighting kind and certainly don’t want to be. but they each have mental/emotional capacities that probably surpass a lot of my “stronger” girls. meanwhile mare, laura, sonya, cora, and marlene would and could physically fight/kill if they needed to. most of them canonically have.

susan was kept from the real narnia because she was too feminine / a woman / an adult.

send me a misconception you think people have about my character and I’ll explain if it’s true or not : (accepting) 

haha wow you knew just the question to ask to distract me from returning to my reading! :)   this is the misconception of all misconceptions and it drives me BANANAS. susan was kept from the real narnia because her story isn’t over - - because she wasn’t on the train when it crashed - - because she’s still alive, and still has time to get there! nothing is KEEPING her from returning to narnia (at the right time) but HERSELF by the time we see her again. and the “too feminine” thing drives me to distraction, we don’t see OTHER women kept out of narnia simply for being “foo feminine” or “for being a woman,” (and i mean, heck, PETER is more an adult than susan by the time he reaches the real narnia, the professor even more so!) and susan’s attention to nylon and lipsticks and invitations isn’t in itself the issue. the issue is that she’s putting the world, putting the material, over narnia. she’s rejecting narnia of her own free will, pretending it doesn’t exist and trying to bully her siblings into the same way of thinking. (and driving others to sin is a pretty great sin in itself, which is…pretty much what she’s trying to do, to be honest, with full knowledge of what she’s doing). susan is angry and hurt and mourning, but those things in themselves don’t give excuse or reason. 

if susan had returned to london and kept faith in narnia and kept faith with her siblings AND liked lipsticks and nylons and invitations (but not more than such things should be liked in any healthy way, not in a way that makes them a PRIORITY in the way they’re a priority for susan) she would have been involved in the events of TLB and on that train and entering aslan’s country with the rest of them. but all of those elements - - the nylons, the lipsticks, the invitations - - are also more symbols than they are objects. they’re symbols of susan willingly trading one world for another, throwing herself into being what she believes an adult should be. essentially worshipping the things of the world as false idols - - a parallel to putting something before god, which is in defiance of the first commandment if we want to get biblical with these arguments. 

no, susan wasn’t kept from narnia for being feminine or interested in pretty things, or going to dances, or smoking cigarettes, or wearing lipstick. she was kept from narnia because she still needs to find aslan in her own world  because she’s being given time to see the end of her redemption story.

i . it takes them forEVER to actually finally get together. everyone in diagon alley knows their feelings for each other by the time the two actually “officially” get together. regulars at the leaky cauldron had bets running. their friends had bets running .it was a whole Thing. 

ii . they’re both giant herbology/plant nerds. like so, so much. they leave each other cute little messages in flowers. 

iii . their wedding is pretty much just?? the most adorable thing ever?? it was small and cozy with lots of food and drink and merriment, and hannah wore a crown of flowers in place of a veil

It was a normal Saturday for Scarlett. She and her older brothers didn't really do much, they just played video games and watched TV. Scarlett eventually got bored and went to go out exploring in the woods nearby.

She basically knew her way around the woods, since she and her brothers had been exploring since they were kids. Scarlett took her phone and three bottles of water along with a few snacks.

She told her older brothers, closed the door and then set off into the woods. She looked around as she walked, thinking of the memories spent in the woods with her brothers and her cousins. She looked around, noticing the woods looked different.

"Odd.. I could've sworn there was a fallen tree nearby.." Scarlett muttered. She looked around again, thinking how odd this was. "Have I discovered a new part of the woods?" That was impossible though, she was pretty sure that she and her brothers had explored all of it, since it wasn't a massive forest. It seemed bigger than it was though.

"Hmm.." Scarlett muttered. She heard a horse's neigh in the distance and a gallop of hooves.

a meta on father's day, please ! ( since it already looked like you were dying to write one anyway )

after a few attempts at giving vernon a present for his birthday only for it to be tossed in the rubbish bin, harry never mistakes the roof that is provided to him as affection from his uncle. he watches petunia shove crayons in dudley’s hand and prod the boy in the direction of his father with happy tears in his eyes as drawings are dropped to the delighted man’s feet. 

he makes something, once, for a man long dead. a small drawing of a life he was deprived of – a brown blob that matches a smaller brown blob. when it winks at his onlooking aunt she snatches the paper away and burns it. 

he doesn’t revisit the topic of that particular day for years. typically spending his time locked in a closet or a room, scraps of a meal shoved under the door while the family happily celebrates just how blessed they are without the nuisance hanging around. 

later on, he smiles at arthur’s archive of moving drawings from his children. every present saved from wilted dandelions to collections of lightbulbs. harry ignores the tug in his chest because it is easy, because it has always been there really. 

knowing his godson will feel that similar tug for the rest of his life, he stops by to visit teddy every year. they play and laugh and andromeda makes them lunch – an ordinary day for them. 

a lonely day expands over time. harry is older and much too large to fit in a cupboard when father’s day is full of visits and he has his own pictures to add to a collection of knick-knacks collected. there is only one moment stolen away – after his own are asleep after baths and bedtime stories – harry stops by a graveyard and thanks a man who had laid down his life in the hopes harry could keep his own.

i love speaking to you about susan. i think you get her, and she's honestly such a hard character to pin down, not the least due to her absence in later books. are you really certain that you haven't got jack and susan whispering in your ears ?

“i don’t believe that.” it came out before she could stop it. but it was the truth to her. he was one of the nicest people she knew, especially if she was comparing him to other boys she’s seen. scout was the one, in her mind, subjecting him to maycomb residents and their judgements. not to mention, her family could be a little much. “what do you think you’re doin’ to me, ed?” they had the time, they may as well use it.

it felt as if the youngest brother was somewhat avoiding her and she’d already tried to recall whether she had done anything in particular to explain such behaviour, but nothing came to mind and last thing needed was a rift between her and one of the pevensies. aslan placed her at their side to help them with everything that came with royal life and more so distance between them and her would make helping very difficult.

hc + peanut butter

ohh okay, this is a good one! because hannah LOVES peanut butter, and a good number of her friends can’t quite figure it out. 

hannah’s mother is an american muggle-born, grew up in america, and ate a lot of peanut butter sandwiches in her childhood. she brought her fondness for the spread with her when she married hannah’s dad and moved to england. and it means that hannah was exposed to it from the time she was very young, including weeks’ worth of eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch every day with her cousins when she visited over the summer. 

her mother would send her jars of peanut butter in care packages, and hannah would delightedly carry it in her bag to spread on toast at breakfast.
