Shot my #personalbest today at #prolinearcheryrange for the 2019 #nysindoorchampionships Using a Brand New Bow #handcrafted by @sauktrailarchery I scored the highest so far in my #traditionalarchery career BTW, this isn't just any new bow. This is a one of a kind, first of it's kind, new model from @sauktrailarchery I have only just received this bow 1 week ago. Today was only the third time I have shot this bow, FIRST time I'm shooting it indoors, and I shoot a personal best. In a 600 round, I sadly usually never shoot over 200. Today, I shot a 282. I couldn't be happier! I just picked this thing up and said, let's get this done! And we did. First #outdoor3darchery practice session of 2019! It was a brisk 36 degrees Farenheit in NY, low 30's in #coscobconnecticut where this beautiful property is located. Over 4.5 hours, we shot 29 of the 40 stations. Beautiful crisp weather. Feels of -12 in NYC. No winter storm, but I've had "cabin fever" nonetheless with 2 days off from work which are rare these days. I spent the day yesterday sanding and staining wooden shafts for my very first arrow build, and of course, putting together more Arrow Tassels to fill some recent orders. My #woodenarrows are #handcrafted #handmade #custommade by @podunkhollow15 They highly recommended #featherdri #waterrepellentpowder by @bohningarchery The instructions were super easy. Fling some powder in supplied bag, insert #arrow with #featherfletching into bag, proceed to "shake and bake" so that powder adequately coats the #feathers, remove arrow from bag and manually work powder into #fletching Super Easy except I was not so great at the shake and bake method, the bag is kinda small, so the vet tech in me Immediately thought to channel my inner chinchilla and roll the feathers instead. That worked very well. Shot these bad boys in the snow today and they held up very well! Working in my little #arrowhospital again today, ha ha. I'm prepping for my first season of shooting #outdoors #outdoorshoot #3dshoot #3darchery #3darcheryshooting #foamtargets I have learned that using some steam will help open up the #featherfletching and make them all pretty again. It is really cool because you can hear the #feathers opening up in the steam.
