Hi everyone! 🙋🏼‍♀️ . I hope you're all doing great and the new year sees you all well. It's been a minute since my last post, so thought I'd better get back into it! . This week Phoenix came back in to start some groundwork and light exercise - he's enjoyed a long holiday while I've been off unwell! We don't have any big goals at the moment as I'm not allowed to ride - I'm just enjoying my boy from the ground, and doing a bit of conditioning work with him. Like I often say - horse hair and dirt is great medicine 💕 . We're still trying to work out what's happening with me, I've had 7 scans since Nov, lots of bloods, and next week I have another specialist appointment. Basically the main issue is that I haven't been able to eat, and I've had horrendous tummy pain and a bit of nausea. . My drs are pretty sure it's an issue combining my liver, bile ducts, and gallbladder, so hopefully they can get me sorted asap 🤞✨️ . In the meantime im just doing what i can, but also listening to my body (for once) and trying not to push it too much. It feels wonderful to be back out there with my favourite pony though! . I'll keep the updates coming- it may be slow going, but we all know I love a challenge! 😅 Bring on our comeback 💕 . Hey everyone! 🙋🏼‍♀️ . Hope you're all doing well and enjoying the sunshine - much needed and appreciated after all the rain we've had! . It's been a minute since my last update, but life has been a bit mental (I'm saying that like it's a new occurrence, lol! 😅🙈) . We've been on a bit of a roller coaster with my health in the last couple of weeks; more scans and doctors visits etc, and unfortunately I haven't had much energy to get outside. On the bright side, I couldn't have done much with all the rain and mud about, anyway! . After a few sunny days I've felt a bit more recharged, so today I rotated their paddocks, fixed a fence, and contacted a local instructor to come help us get our journey properly started. . It will be a bit slower going than what I imagined, but now that we know a bit more about what's going on with me health-wise, and I've found some extra support, I'm definitely looking forward to taking that leap and getting cracking again 💪😁 . With summer right around the corner, I'm excited to get my fitness up, spending more time outside, and getting back in the saddle 🥰☀️ . Geoffrey update! 🏇 . I think we're at day 3 post - injury, and so far he's doing great 🤞💕 . We took his bandages off today to have a look at his cut, and I'm super happy with how it's healing. So far there's no infection, and it looks like it'll heal nice and flat with minimal scarring if any at all 😍👌 . We smothered it with manuka honey, re-gaused and re-wrapped it, and it will be due to come off in 2-3 days. . He's been the perfect patient for everything, really impressed with him for a big baby horse in a new place with new people. 🌟 We've got two more days of antibiotics, and then hopefully we're home free pending careful management of the wound. . The ups and downs of owning horses! 🏇 . Well, I promised to be transparent with you guys so here it is - Geoffie's first vet visit 🤦‍♀️ . Poor Geoff had a bit of an 'oops' moment yesterday afternoon with a fence. He wasn't hooning, had been in and walked the perimeter, was in one of our new private paddocks, and had already said hi to his neighbours. . Just a freak accident that was just as weird as it was scary to watch! He was prancing around showing off, not looking where he was going, and he trotted straight into a wire fence, panicked, and cut himself. 🙈 . Our wonderful vet was out within the hour to clean him up, check him over and dress his cut. Thankfully it was fairly superficial, but I'm glad I had him checked over properly 💕 . This is exactly why it's important to have 'just in case' funds sitting there, and also why they say there's no such thing as a cheap horse! 😂👌 . This morning he's walking really well, surprisingly isn't swollen anywhere, and is bright and alert. He tucked into his breakky happily, stood while I checked him over, and was even up for a cuddle. .
