Blood Pool Errors

We found some errors with the new blood pool system that I setup this week. The actor spawns in and trace lines to find something to connect to and spawn there. Problem was the traceline isn’t shooting in the correct direction. Instead of shooting down towards the terrain it’s always shooting up towards the sky never colliding with anything and never spawning, causing a lot of errors because of the missing reference. 

No matter what I try, I can’t get the traceline to shoot towards the ground even though it’s working perfectly fine in the Dev Map we have for testing. 

If this becomes a difficult issue we plan on cutting the blood pool entirely.

Finishing work on the new enemy character, I moved on to some lower priority stuff that our team wanted to experiment with before we got to close to the end of the semester.

A lot of our play testers mentioned wanting some type of ranged attack. While our team had decided that a range attack wouldn't suit our characters gameplay, we wanted to see what we could implement that was range and might fit in.

I decided to try and implement a grapple attack which would pull enemy players towards Tizoc. What I came up with came in two forms. The first was one which was very rough where the player held down a button to pull themselves to an object or an enemy to them over a period of time. This was cool at first but didn’t feel right.

I then fiddled with the way it was setup and created a system where the player presses their button once, and if that hits the enemy player (Traceline at the moment, not projectile like would be preferred), it pulls that enemy to Tizoc over 1 second and at a more gradual pace.
