Ah I totally forgot to share the Valentine's diplocaulus here! After answering an ask about diplocaulus, too... Guess I'll have to announce the next drop here first to make up for it.

The Valentine's themed wee babies with their heart-shaped heads are all gone, but I'll definitely do more (likely less pink) varieties in the future and you can wait for those here. The large blue-eyed one is actually still available here!

Marjoram (she/her)

'Benjamin' thylacine by Minkplush, bought online in March and sent via my friend in August 2024. Marjoram is the closest sounding herb to Benjamin I could find...

While she's mostly a really nicely made plush, the patterning on the front legs was a bit odd and she leaned forward and faceplanted quite a lot! I re-stitched them so she stands better.

Here's how they looked before! So leaning. Her shoulders and chest also looked very wide from the front, kinda like a bulldog!

First I unpicked the two curved seams connecting each foreleg to the underbelly.

Just grabbing and rotating the leg a little bit made it stand much more straight! So I just had to sew it back on, but a little out of alignment compared to before. Starting from the back I ladder stitched around it, keeping the leg in this twisted forward position so it'd stay that way.

As I got close to the front there was now a loop of extra leg fabric to deal with from where it was twisted.

From here I started to stitch it directly forward in a straight line for a while rather than continuing round, which also helped to narrow the broad chest...

...And then off to the side to finish tucking all the folds in. Took a couple tries to find the neatest way to stitch it so all the parts would blend together nice and smooth, and so the new visible seams looked symmetrical and deliberate (is this what doing top surgery is like?)

Look how much difference that made! Steppy... She has slightly visible scars on the shoulders from it, but not too bad.

(Oh, I also took the white felt backing out from behind the eyes! It made em look kinda weird and human-ish... I just picked away at it with needles/craft knife until it was all gone, being careful not to scratch the eyes or cut the plastic eyelids in the process. Bit awkward really, haha.)
