Imagine naming your cat XJ6 or your goldfish Corvette. Most of the best car names in history were after animals.  You can probably rattle off a couple dozen that are occupying a large section of your amygdala.  The Asian manufacturers seemed to struggle with matching animals to their cars.  They didn't have many and what they did, weren't great: Nissan Bluebird, Datsun Honey Bee, Mitsubishi Colt (was really a Dodge), Nissan S-Cargo (bit of a stretch), Mitsubishi Starion (Japanese mispronunciation of Stallion...seriously), Isuzu Bighorn, Hyundai Tiburon (Spanish for shark), Nissan Leopard, Mazda Bongo, and Mitsubishi Dingo.  I'm sure I left a few off that list.  Often, these Asian car companies would just slap a bunch of numbers and letters on the rear end and call it a day.  However, this FJ55 was internally named the "Moose" by Toyota employees and the U.S. market affectionately called it the "Iron Pig" due to the look of the front end and how robust it was off-road. Interestingly, there aren't many cars named after dogs.  I think this is the answer to Asian manufacturers.  Suggestions would be the Honda Shitszu, Nissan Chow, Hyundai Pug, Subaru Akita, Toyota Chin Chin, and Suzuki Shar Pei.
