2019 Toyota Tacoma Diesel Changes, Specs
2019 Toyota Tacoma Diesel Release Date
2019 Toyota Tacoma Diesel
2019 Toyota Tacoma Diesel
2019 Toyota Tacoma Diesel Review – The Japanese manufacturer is preparing many new features for next year, including a new model powered by diesel, which will come as a Toyota Tacoma Diesel 2019. This truck was offered exclusively for the North American market and is one of the best models in the segment.
So far we have seen three generations of the truck. The current model is present since 2015, so we can say that it is a good time for some updates. In addition to a new engine, this truck is also about to acquire a new visual appearance. This model has been based on the legendary Hilux for years and the latest reports suggest that it will eventually present the same design language, or something similar at least. Inside, the 2019 Tacoma Diesel should have the same cabin design as the gasoline models, with only a few minor changes to the board.
2019 Toyota Tacoma Diesel Changes
This truck has been one of the segment’s leaders for years, and that’s for good reason. Like the previous models, this generation is also based on the legendary Hilux, which is offered all over the world and already comes with few diesel units on offer. therefore, this choice to introduce an oil burner version inside the US market seems natural.
Compared to gasoline models, the Toyota Tacoma Diesel 2019 will have the same design. However, it is important to mention that an update is in progress. According to the latest reports, this update will focus on the visual appearance. The American truck will finally have the same face as Hilux, which means the adoption of the brand’s new design language. In terms of mechanics, we do not expect more significant changes.
2019 Toyota Tacoma Diesel interior
Inside, the 2019 Toyota Tacoma Diesel will not have greater differences than gasoline models. We are about to see a family cabin design, which actually comes in two designs. The basic models have an extended cabin design, which allows us to consider them as high-performance models. On the other hand, the cabin cab models offer much more space and comfort. The dashboard will be the same, although we can see some changes on the board, which makes sense given a different type of powertrain. In terms of equipment, we expect the new diesel engine to be available throughout the Tacoma range. Even so, do not expect to see it under the new all-terrain model TRD Pro.
2019 Toyota Tacoma Diesel Trims
As we just mentioned, the new engine should be available in all equipment levels, except TRD Pro. This means that the cheaper version with the oil burner will be a very basic SR model, which includes only useless equipment. Some of the most notable standard features are the 16-inch steel wheels, a 4.2-inch screen, a backup camera, a Bluetooth and USB connection, and more. It is important to mention that all versions, including SR, are equipped with Toyota’s Safety Sense system. braking, lane departure warning, automatic dipped beam and adaptive cruise control.
The next one on the line is SR5. This model comes with bumpers and other plastic surfaces to paint the same color as the sheet. In addition, there are standard features such as an enhanced audio system with satellite radio, smartphone integration, navigation and optional alloy wheels.
The TRD Off-Road setting adds a 7-inch touchscreen and 16-inch alloy wheels. There are many mechanical modifications, such as a new suspension, a lockable rear differential, all-terrain tires, a skate and more.
Finally, there is a limited adjustment. This is a comfort-oriented version of the truck, which comes with a lot of standard equipment, including 17-inch alloy wheels with low-profile tires. It comes only in the cabin version of the crew, with a short bed.
2019 Toyota Tacoma Diesel Engine
Finally, some words about the engine. It is no secret that diesel engines are becoming increasingly popular among truck drivers. Additional torque means a lot when it comes to towing and other difficult jobs. We still do not know the exact unit, but it will undoubtedly be taken from Hilux.
2019 Toyota Tacoma Diesel Engine
The international model comes with two different diesel units, depending on the market. The first is a 3.0-liter V6, which is good for around 163 horsepower. However, it comes in a pair with the 5-speed automatic, which seems a little outdated. On the other hand, a 2.8-liter unit comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission and is more efficient. A total production of this engine revolves around 177 horses. Given these numbers, it is clear that the latter seems much more likely to be installed under the hood of the 2019 Toyota Tacoma Diesel.
2019 Toyota Tacoma Diesel date and the starting price
The 2019 Toyota Tacoma Diesel is expected to get somewhere in the second half of the year. A more accurate release date is coming. When it comes to prices, it will probably cost a few thousand more compared to models with a four-cylinder gasoline engine. In figures, that means around 26-27,000 dollars for the basic model.

Toyota Showcases Tweaked Trucks And Custom Corollas At SEMA
Rear-wheel drive Corolla drifters to Baja winning trucks are part of the display.
Toyota isn’t pulling any punches at this year’s SEMA Show. For years the automaker stagnated in the realm of reliable cars that weren’t terribly exciting. That’s been changing recently, and the wide variation of custom rides on display in Las Vegas is a testament to that.
In addition to a massive Supra invasion, Toyota has a plethora of custom Corollas and pickup trucks in its stable ranging from mild to wild. Here’s a look at each with a short description of what the buzz is all about, starting with the Corollas.
Toyota Corolla Super Street SEMA Custom
Wearing a body kit and a red dress, the Super Street Corolla has JDM upgrades aimed primarily for style but it’s also tweaked for occasional track use. Inside is still about comfort, however, with heated seats and a rocking stereo.
Toyota Corolla SoCal Kustomz SEMA Custom
Toyota commissioned a “build-off” between a couple shops, and the SoCal Kustoms Corolla embodies a hot-rod style attitude with an ode to the crazy graphics from the Fast & Furious movie franchise. It also gets a nitrous oxide system for an extra power boost.
Toyota Corolla Papadakis Racing Drift Car SEMA Custom
On the wild side of the equation comes this rear-wheel-drive purpose-built drift car. You won’t be seeing this on the street anytime soon obviously, but if you did, its boosted four-cylinder would be sending the rear tires up in smoke so much you’d struggle to see the gutted interior and cool widebody kit.
Toyota Corolla Muscle Tuner SEMA Custom
The foil to the SoCal Kustomz Corolla is this AE86 tribute car from Muscle Tuner automotive. Sadly it’s not rear-wheel drive, but the custom exterior pays homage to the classic compact drifter and the engine is enhanced with nitrous for extra power. It also rides on custom suspension for a low, lean look.
Toyota Corolla Hoonigan Camera Car
This is a name you might associate with Ken Block and his Ford team, but whereas those cars are in front of the camera, this special Corolla is the camera. It’s modified with camera gear and mounts and designed to function as a mobile high-end video production machine.
Toyota Tundra PIE Pro
Moving on to trucks, this curious creation is designed to cook and deliver piping-hot Pizza Hut orders with a touch of green. That’s because this Tundra and its onboard kitchen are powered by a hydrogen fuel cell.
Kevin Costner Toyota Tundra
There’s something we never thought we’d say in the same sentence. The noted Hollywood actor teamed up with the Toyota to build this off-road adventure machine. It’s based on a Tundra Platinum and gets a plethora of add-ons including a 4.5-inch lift, steel bumpers winches, lights, and yes, Costner has apparently used it for camping and reaching remote film shoots.
Toyota Tacoma, Tundra TRD Pro
Mixed into the crazy custom rigs and race machines are mildly tweaked TRD Pro editions of the Tundra and Tacoma, wearing upgraded suspension and the all-important snorkel to keep water and sand clear of the engine.
Ivan Stewart’s Toyota Baja Race Truck
Perhaps better known by his “Ironman” nickname, off-road legend Ivan Stewart drove Toyota trucks to numerous Baja victories. Joining the factory-tuned vehicles on display is one of his full-on race-prepped trophy trucks that conquered the Baja terrain.

TOYOTA TAKES YOU PLACES AT SEMA 2018
From Supras, a Pizza-making Tundra, Corollas, and Trucks, Toyota Brings Those Places to Life PLANO, Texas, Oct. 30, 2018 — Toyota’s suite of vehicles on display at the 2018 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show pays tribute to the heritage of the Toyota Supra, the launch of the 2019 Corolla Hatchback, the latest TRD Pro trucks, and a very special hydrogen fuel cell-powered Tundra that robotically makes pizza.
“The theme for SEMA 2018 is our call to action — ‘Let’s Go Places,’” said Ed Laukes, Group Vice President – Toyota Division Marketing. “This year we’re definitely going places with the introduction of the all-new 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback and the latest TRD Pro trucks. We’re also taking a look back at the history of the Toyota Supra up through our state-of-the-art Supra race cars on display in the booth. And no one will soon forget the pizza-making Tundra PIE Pro!” Highlights of this year’s SEMA display include:
TUNDRA PIE PRO HYDROGEN FUEL-CELL Everyone’s heard of pizza delivery, but the hydrogen fuel cell electric-powered Tundra PIE Pro takes the concept to another level. It is one Toyota truck that takes the party wherever it goes with virtually no carbon footprint—leaving only water vapor emissions and delicious Pizza Hut pizza in its wake. Powered by a Toyota Mirai powertrain and converted to FWD, this Tundra can power itself and the entire bed-mounted kitchen via its hydrogen fuel cell electric powertrain. Two robotic arms bake, cut, box and deliver the pizza.
KEVIN COSTNER’S CUSTOM TUNDRA Kevin Costner’s custom Tundra Platinum is a truck that was built to conquer the great outdoors. The Tundra has been outfitted with an array of custom equipment to tailor its use to Mr. Costner’s passion for nature and active outdoor lifestyle.
CUSTOM COROLLA BUILDS To introduce the 2019 Corolla Hatchback to the performance aftermarket, Toyota launched a Battle of the Shops to see who could build the best, most unique custom version of the new car. Two builders answered the call: well-known Latino builders Julio Ixta of SoCal Kustomz, and Alex Molina of Muscle Tuner Auto. Two additional builds will also be present, a time attack-inspired entry by automotive media network Super Street, and a “Russian Arm” camera car by the rally racers at Hoonigan.
FORMULA DRIFT COROLLA The TRD/Papadakis Racing Corolla Hatchback was inspired by, and built for, Formula Drift competition. This 2019 Corolla Hatchback features a full rear-wheel-drive conversion, a custom suspension built from scratch, and a fire-breathing turbo engine pushing more than 1,000 horsepower. It won in its first-ever outing in Long Beach, Calif., and took second place in the 2018 Formula Drift Pro rankings.
TOYOTA SUPRA IN MOTORSPORTS Toyota’s SEMA 2018 display celebrates the return of Toyota’s most iconic performance car with raceprepared renditions of the upcoming fifth generation Supra. Toyota will campaign a Supra-bodied car in next year’s NASCAR Xfinity Series, and it will be parked next to what may be the most extreme new Supra to date—the Supra GTE racing concept introduced earlier this year at the Geneva International Motor Show. The car is making its North American debut at this year’s SEMA show.
TOYOTA SUPRA, MARKS 1-4 In support of Supra’s return to the racetrack and the street, a display of classic Supras—featuring generations one through four, all in white—will be parked at the 2018 SEMA booth. The pristine assembly will be accompanied by eight modified examples displayed on the outdoor patio, celebrating a die-hard enthusiast following that endures to this day.
NEXT GENERATION TRD PRO TACOMA, TUNDRA, 4RUNNER Six Toyota trucks will be present in the 2018 booth in support of automotive enthusiasts of a different stripe. The new 2019 TRD Pro Series trucks—Tacoma, Tundra, and 4Runner— will be parked alongside three SR5 models equipped with TRD parts. They will be displayed adjacent to a comprehensive TRD parts wall designed to allow owners to customize their own Toyota trucks. They will be joined by the multi-championship-winning Baja race truck driven by off-road legend Ivan “Ironman” Stewart.
Rutledge Wood—The NBC Sports NASCAR Analyst and self-professed Supra geek returns for the seventh year running to co-host the Toyota SEMA Press Conference with Group Vice President – Toyota Division Marketing, Ed Laukes.
The entire collection of vehicles can be seen in the Toyota display booth (#24800) in Central Hall and the adjoining Patio Annex at the Las Vegas Convention Center, October 30-November 2, 2018.

2019 Toyota Tacoma
New Post has been published on https://motortrendi.com/2019-toyota-tacoma/
2019 Toyota Tacoma
With the Tacoma name dating back to 1995, and underlying platform lineage dating back to the late ’60s, it’s no secret that the 2019 Toyota Tacoma descends from a long line of effective trucks.
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push();
The Toyota Tacoma never actually goes through many changes between generations, and this has actually proven real considering that the third-gen model debuted in 2016. Now, as we near 2019, the Tacoma’s lineup is entering into focus, and while we expect the whole of the pickup to stay unchanged, it will get a revamped TRD Pro model.
2019 Toyota Tacoma Design
Visually, we anticipate most of the 2019 Toyota Tacoma to remain the same inside and out. The TRD Pro, however, will get a few updates. These consist of an extra inch of lift, LED fog lights, a new-look “TOYOTA” grille, a hood scoop, “TRD Pro” stamping on the bed, black-chrome exhaust ideas, and 18-inch BBS aluminum wheels.
When it comes to the 2019 Tacoma TRD Pro, expect an even beefier truck than before. New devices consists of Fox off-road shocks with TRD springs, as well as special accents contributed to both the interior and exterior. Without a doubt the coolest feature of the new TRD Pro Tacoma is the offered TRD Desert Air Intake, because nothing means service when it comes to off-roading rather like a snorkel. Toyota declares this alternative assists the 2019 Tacoma breathe cleaner air in off-road environments, though there is no main word on if the snorkel assists the new Tacoma to ford little bodies of water, or if that action will void the 3-year/36,000- mile warranty.
2019 Toyota Tacoma Engine
Under the hood, we expect everything to remain unchanged, so try to find its base engine to remain the reliable 2.7-liter four-cylinder with 159 horsepower. Optionally, purchasers can opt for a 278-hp 3.5-liter V6. Transmission alternatives include a six-speed handbook or a six-speed automatic. The TRD Pro’s powertrain gains a new Desert Air Intake, which repositions the intake listed below the windshield where there’s less dust and particles.
While the majority of the Tacoma’s mechanical components stay the exact same, the TRD Pro gets a couple of under-the-skin updates, fresh 2.5-inch Fox front shocks with 46 mm pistons and 8 bypass zones. The front suspension likewise gets a new set of springs that offer it an extra inch of lift and a bigger front sway bar.
The current Tacoma carries out well in IIHS crash tests, as it has “Good” ratings in all the major crash tests. However it disappoints being a Top Safety Pick due to its lack of automatic emergency braking and its “Marginal” headlight test outcomes. We anticipate this to stay the very same in 2019.
2019 Toyota Tacoma Pricing & Release Date
Though there is no concrete release date, we do anticipate to see the 2019 Tacoma at some point in the fall of 2018. Official pricing must be similar to the 2018 model, which varies from $26,195 to $44,515 (location charges included). Competition will include the Chevy Colorado, GMC Canyon, and Nissan Frontier.
