Toyota Highlander Remote Starter Kit – FAQs
Upon its introduction in the early 2000’s, the Toyota Highlander became one of the first mid-size crossover SUVs to take the market by storm. This vehicle offers excellent performance, a comfortable driving experience, unmatched reliability, and a stylish look. Anybody who gets behind the wheel will appreciate its premium features, luxurious interior & exterior design, comfortable seats, and superior driving quality.
When it comes to using a remote starter kit, plenty of questions are asked by owners and fans of the Toyota Highlander. Fortunately, we answered some of the most frequently asked questions about these remote starters below.
Tumblr media
Does the Toyota Highlander offer remote start?
Toyota does offer the remote start feature in their Highlander models. It’s sold as an add-on by the dealer, typically for $400-500.   The dealer remote start is activated by pressing you’re the ‘lock’ button on your factory remote fob three times in succession.
Here are some of the remote starter kits that we offer for the Toyota Highlander with Push-To-Start ignition:
OEM Remote Activated Remote Start for 2014-2019 Toyota Highlander Push-To-Start
Remote Activated Remote Start Kit for 2020-2020 Toyota Highlander - T-Harness
OEM Remote Activated Remote Start for 2014-2019 Toyota Highlander - Hybrid
Here are kits for the Highlander with the tradition key-start ignition:
OEM Remote Activated Remote Start For 2014-2016 Toyota Highlander – Gas
Plug-n-Play Remote Start For 2014-2019 Toyota Highlander HYBRID - 3x Lock Start
Plug-n-Play 4-Button 2-Way Remote Start For 2014-2019 Toyota Highlander Hybrid
How do you activate the MPC remote start on a Toyota Highlander?
The activation process for the remote starter kit is very simple and easy! Depending on the specific kit you purchase, it will either active by pressing ‘lock’ on your factory remote fob three times (just like the dealer installed remote start) Tor it will activate by pressing ‘lock>unlock>lock’.
How much does a remote starter kit cost for the Toyota Highlander?
Depending on your vehicle model and the remote starter kit that you want to install, the cost will vary. There are pre-wired systems available for purchase that will help reduce the effort and costs involved with wiring, and here at MyPushcart, we offer a quick-tip guide that will help you install the remote starter kit all by yourself – even with minimal installation knowledge.
What is the operating range for a Highlander remote start?
If you purchase a kit that works from the factory remote fob, the operating range will be the same as your operating range for locking/unlocking your doors is right now without the remote start.   If you need to start your Toyota Highlander from further away than your existing remotes will work, we long-range remote kits that plug in to our remote starts that can work from up to 3000 feet away.
Can I start my Toyota Highlander with my phone?
Yes.  We offer smartphone-control kits for all Highlanders.   A separate plug-in module and subscription are required.
 For more information, click here:
MPC Smartphone App - Remote Start App Use Your Smartphone -Continental U.S. Only
How long does the Toyota Highlander stay on when using remote start?
The default setting is 15 minutes, but run time can be changed to as short as 3 minutes or as long as 60 minutes.
How long does it take to install a remote car starter?
The time it takes to install a highlander remote start kit depends on the specific model of the vehicle and the kit used. It also depends on your skill level and experience.   Plug & Play kits available for models with Push-To-Start ignition can be done by an experienced installer in about 20 minutes.   Kits for key-start vehicles take longer – about 1-2 hours.
Can I install a remote starter by myself?
With some basic installation knowledge, it is definitely possible for you to install the remote starter kit all by yourself. We provide a comprehensive ‘tip sheet’ with all our kits that serves as a DIY guide to help you through the process.

Three’s a Crowd || Erwin x Reader x Levi || Modern AU
Chapter 1 - Moving So Fast
“(Y/n), nice to meet you!” A blonde, blue eye boy greeted you with the purest smile on his face. You bowed slightly and shook hands with him, respecting your trainer was the first step in making a good impression to your new coworkers and the higher ups. “My name is Armin, I’m the M.O.D. for the morning shifts. During your training you’ll meet Mikasa who is in charge during the afternoons and Ymir who covers the nights. Whenever you have a question, you can ask the three of us or our boss and the owner, Mr. Reiss.” You were five minutes into this new job and you already got the feeling your life was going to change from sluggish and boring to hectic and hilarious.
Mr. Reiss created everybody’s schedule for his coffee shop, ‘Reiss Coffee!’ and the three M.O.D.’s ran the coworkers and customers from that point. You were told he came to check up on everybody each day but not for too long since his managers were responsible and he learned quickly he can rely on them. You first shift was 9am-5pm which gave you a taste of training with each manager. Some of your coworkers you met already included Eren, Jean, Historia and Sasha. Learning all the drinks was challenging, you’ve just gotten use to the latte, cappuccino and macchiato by the time 5pm started rolling around. Your feet hurt like a bitch from these safety shoes you had to wear, a couple strands of hair were messy and your brain felt like puddy. Overall a successful first day.
“So, ya coming with us or not, new girl?” Ymir grinned at you after she finished an order for a customer. You gave her a questioning look while pulling off the light brown apron. “The party at Smith’s? Armin invited you this morning, remember?”
“Oh…I complete forgot about that,” you laughed nervously. In truth you were going to try to avoid it. You were living out of your 1996 Toyota Highlander and you didn’t have much to your name. You owned the car, but only had so many nice clothes for parties, some food sources stashed away and a couple various important items. How you got there was a story for another time.
“No ya didn’t,” Ymir glared lightly at you, causing you to sweat. You adverted your eyes to your apron and felt her golden orbs still watching you. “What’s the problem with a little fun?”
You rubbed your arm, a small nervous habit. “I don’t have anything to wear for a party. You know I just moved into town, I didn’t bring too much baggage with me…literally,” You laughed a bit. This got a hefty laugh from Ymir.
“Don’t worry about attire girl,” she waved off your weak comment and handed you a small card with an address. “Wear something comfortable, even jeans and a decent shirt are fine, everybody’s going to be some level of drunk anyways! Some clothes might go missing, who knows!” She patted your shoulder, it was oddly comforting. “Come to this address at 7pm, if you want to come when the balls already rolling, arrive at 8pm. If I don’t see you by 9pm, I’ll drag you by the ear!” You both laughed. Her threat was meaningful, she would actually find you and drag you to the party, but not in a painful way.
“I guess…thanks Ymir!” You grinned, headed out to your car in search of a decent outfit.
----------
You had arrived at the Smith residence at 7:30pm, the feeling of arriving at 7pm was too sharp and 8pm felt too late. It was a small house in a nice neighborhood, each property having at least 1 acre or more of yard, you estimated the Smiths’ had 1.5 or 2. You knocked on the door, brushing off you button up a bit. You wore high-waist, dark wash blue jeans and a vertical stripe black and white button up that was tucked in, with some simple sandals on your feet. The door opened a moment later and you were face to face with a gorgeous blonde. He had sky blue eyes, blonde hair with a dirty blonde undercut, chiseled chin and cheekbones and bushy eyebrows. The moment he smiled at you, you could swear your heart stopped beating like pulling the plug from an electrical socket.
“Welcome, come in!” He stepped to the side and motioned you inside, you quickly stepping forward. Immediately you noticed how loud it was- music, talking, yelling, dancing, the smell of alcohol and chips, cooked chicken too. Your eyes caught a glance at Armin with Mikasa and Eren amongst the group. But you didn’t have too much time in your own head when you felt a large hand on your back and your breath hitched as a reaction. “My name is Erwin Smith. You must be the girl Armin was speaking so highly of.”
Your cheeks flushed a little bit, “I guess,” you chuckled nervously. “My name’s (y/n) (l/n). It’s a pleasure to meet you.” You both outstretched your hands to shake, you could feel how tough his skin was yet his palm so soft. When he spoke, you could trace a bit of scotch scent, but nothing too strong.
“The pleasures mine,” he hummed. “Please make yourself comfortable. The kitchen is to the right and the bathroom is right here next at the entrance. The linen closet is down the hall first door on the left if you’d like a place for your bag.” He was so kind and his voice was so deep, it was almost hypnotic. You replied with a small thank you as Armin came up to join your conversation, he looked thrilled that you came.
Through the course of the night, you noticed a raven haired male making strides around the groups of people with a drink in his hands constantly. He had an undercut which accented his strong jawline, his side profile was definitely a nice view, his grey-silver eyes shined bright. The way he spoke with everybody and walked through the party felt like he owned the place. A redhead kept popping up by his side too, wrapping her hand around his or around his waist, a couple times squeezing his butt which you adverted your eyes too. Him and the blonde host weren’t the only attractive ones here, but so much chatter and dancing blurred your memories of most of their names.
----------
Levi banged on Erwin’s room door, disturbing him from his peaceful slumber. When the blonde sat up, he noticed Levi had ever so kindly let himself into his bedroom. It was around 10am on Sunday, neither had work. “What’s the problem Levi?”
“Erwin, there’s a brat sleeping in my bathroom,” the raven hissed, obviously not pleased over the situation, and Erwin bet he was suffering a bit of a hangover too.
“A brat?” he chuckled, rubbing his puffy eyes and pushed his hair back. “Everybody left once the party was over, who could be left?” he groaned while pulling himself out of the warmth of the comforter. They made their way down the hall and into Levi’s bathroom. Curled up in a ball on the shower floor, they found you. Erwin couldn’t help but chuckle again. “I wouldn’t have believed you if I didn’t see it for myself.”
“Do you know who she is?”
“If I recall,” he muttered while rubbing his forehead, his own hangover hurting pretty badly, “that’s (y/n), a coworker of Armin’s at the Reiss Coffee shop.”
“What is she doing in my bathroom?” Levi grimaced.
“Your guess is as good as mine. Let’s see…” Erwin squatted down and set a hand on your shoulder, gently shaking you while calling your name.
You groaned while trying to shove his hand away, failing at the attempt before clutching your head. It felt like you were spinning but the hand holding your shoulder was the only solidarity that you really weren’t. You cracked open your eyes, the light already probing more pain. It took a full minute until you realized there was a man in front of you. Why was there a man in your car?--…oh. You’re not in your car. You flew into a sitting position while holding your head with one hand and your other hand extended towards him as a separation barrier. Your heart beat was a little fast but you tried to catch up with your situation and your surroundings.
“Wh-what are you doing?!” you yelped.
“You’re in my roommate’s bathroom (y/n),” Erwin chuckled. Your cheeks flushed and your arms and legs moved fast to cover yourself as a reflex, but you checked yourself and was thankful you still had all your clothes on, albeit a bit messy. Levi scoffed at your reaction and glanced away for a moment. “We should be asking you what you’re doing here.” Erwin continued.
“Um…” your body relaxed a bit, rubbing your head trying to remember. “I’m…not entirely sure. I thought I had at least made it back to my car.”
“If you were so drunk you can barely remember anything from yesterday, somebody sensible probably stopped her from driving away,” Levi remarked, a small glare settled on his face. It made you cower a bit from its intimidation.
“Then I believe there’s not much point to figuring out exactly how she’s in your bathroom,” Erwin concurred before standing straight up, offering you a helping hand. “Come, you can join us for breakfast if you wish. But at least take some medicine and water before you depart.” You nodded ever so slightly and took his hand, he pulled you up like a feather off the floor, and motioned you to follow him to the kitchen. Levi kept his eyes on you as you left, but his glare didn’t feel too harsh.
Erwin was kind enough to prepare some coffee along with aiding you both in cups of water, medicine and started to cook breakfast. You were quite distracted in how nice their apartment was, noting a few things again from last night. The glass windows to the patio were huge, the sleek black and white kitchen, the random ferns growing around the house. It felt inviting and modern overall, besides from the clutter left from the party.
“Where do you live (y/n)? Armin told us you’re new in town,” he questioned while the watching the bacon and eggs simmer on the frying pan, his back towards you. You walked over to the sleek black countertop, realizing there was a stood hidden under it, so you pulled one out to sit on it while watching him cook.
“I just arrived in the area about two weeks ago so I haven’t gotten an actual home yet,” you stated.
“There’s plenty of nice apartments around town, you should rent one while you’re saving for a house.”
“Uh..yeah..” You looked to your lap, but didn’t notice Erwin look over his shoulder to see your sullen disposition. He grabbed the coffee pot and three cups, placing once in front of you and the other on two on the counter before filling them all.
“Can you afford it?” You felt chills shoot up your spin as the question came from behind you. There stood Levi in some comfortable sweat pants and a loose v-neck t-shirt, his jet black hair damp from what you guessed was his shower you blocked earlier. He took a seat beside you and picked up one of the cups of coffee. That statement was much bolder than you expected from strangers, not to mention the surprise of his presence. You hadn’t heard him come up at all.
“Um..no.” You laughed nervously, scratching your cheek. “I own my Highlander, so until I could save up, I’ve been living out of my car.”
“That sucks,” Levi hummed softly before taking a sip of his coffee. He sounded a bit sympathetic to be honest. While you were glancing at him, noting his strong jawbone and his round cheekbones, Erwin put down two plates of bacon, eggs and waffles. You had no idea where or when those waffles had been cooking.
“You could live here with us,” Erwin smiled bright, causing Levi to practically choke on his black coffee, starling you overall.
“Huh?!” You and Levi yelped in sync, triggering a hearty laugh from Erwin.
“Levi and I had a roommate move out and haven’t found a good fit to fill it for a couple months now. We do okay on our own financially but not being so strapped would be nice. You seem like you’d be a good fit, you already slept here without any trouble,” he snickered, your cheeks dusting a light pink. His blue orbs glanced over to Levi for his opinion. The raven sighed.
“So long as you keep our common spaces clean. Don’t expect us to pick up after you, brat.” In the end, Levi knew Erwin got his way, but most times his hunches were right. Not to mention, having a bit of extra cash in his wallet without working overtime would be pleasant.
Your eyebrow twitched, “I’m not a ‘brat’, I’m 25,” you bit your tongue to keep from saying anything worse.
“I’m 28, Erwin’s 30. Since we’re older be sure to treat us with the proper respect if you want to live here.” You stuck your tongue out at Levi, another laugh leaving Erwins lungs while Levi shrugged you off. This might not be so bad after all.

2021 Toyota Venza review: Rebooting into luxury

2021 Toyota Venza review: Rebooting into luxury
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes, that’s a Venza.
Tim Stevens/Roadshow
It’s quite common, expected even, that a given model of car will grow and grow as it ages through subsequent redesigns and refreshes. Like many of us, cars get bigger as they get older. But, it’s not every day that a given model genuinely moves up-market, offering the same level of feature and function but in a nicer package. In this way, the new Venza is a bit of a rare bird, its 2021 model year reboot turning this machine from a frumpy family hauler to a clean, sharp and genuinely premium SUV.
Like
Sharp new looks
Good efficiency and drivability
That crazy roof
Don’t Like
Entune needs a similar retooling
And that’s important because there are oh so many crossovers and SUVs to choose from these days. Hell, just keeping in the family you have the C-HR, RAV4, Highlander, 4Runner, Sequoia and Land Cruiser to choose from. How, then, does a product like the Venza break from the den of anonymity?
Well, it starts off with a fresh new look that’s sharp and distinctive while still honoring its Toyota DNA, particularly the gaping lower grille and aggressively pronounced rear fenders. Compared to its van-like, family friendly predecessor, it’s a revelation.
The interior reboot is just as drastic, especially when equipped with the 12.3-inch touchscreen that’s standard on the Limited-trim model you see here, optional on the lower specs. Beneath that, the Limited features a smooth panel of capacitive-touch buttons that looks great, though the lack of a volume knob is, as ever, a bummer.
Keep moving down to find a Qi inductive charging pad for keeping your phone topped up wirelessly, situated in a generous cubby into which Toyota engineers curiously saw fit to hide the engine start button. That storage compartment, plus the rest of the interior, is rimmed with subtle, colored lighting — helpful, because it’s awfully dark otherwise.
This is guaranteed to get a “whoa” from your most jaded of passengers, and when’s the last time a practical SUV did that?
Also helpful is the panoramic glass ceiling, which not only lets in lots of light but hides the Venza’s best party trick. That glass is (optionally) electrochromic, meaning at the touch of a button it clicks to a foggy opaque. This is guaranteed to get a “whoa” from your most jaded of passengers, and when’s the last time a practical SUV did that?
Sadly, the software running in here isn’t likely to garner such a response. Up on that big, pronounced touchscreen you’ll find Toyota’s tried-and-true Entune system. That’s a polite way of saying it looks low-res and dated, especially the navigation interface. Thankfully, with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay onboard, you can at least hide all that pretty quickly.
What’s going on under the hood is far more modern, with every version of the Venza spinning the same 2.5-liter, Atkinson-cycle inline-four-cylinder engine paired up with not one, not two, but three electric motors. The two up front help the gasoline engine, while the one at the back provides this SUV’s all-wheel-drive capability.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There’s a lot going on here.
Tim Stevens/Roadshow
Together with the 0.9 kWh worth of lithium-ion batteries, Toyota says this system provides 219 horsepower, with 176 hp and 163 pound-feet of torque coming from the gasoline engine alone. That means a decidedly front-biased power delivery. Interestingly, despite the tiny battery and not being a plug-in, the Venza can be driven in a full-electric mode… sort of. Top speed here is somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 mph and, should you nuzzle the throttle with anything more than a kitten’s touch, the engine spins up and you’re rudely kicked from the the land that is free of emissions. Still, it’s nice for calm cruises through parking lots or silent, early morning escapes from ninjas.
When pressed harder the Venza accelerates cleanly and smoothly, the CVT eliminating shifts but resulting in typical engine drone. Still, it’s not much of a bother and, whether you’re in Eco or Sport mode, the Venza has more than enough pep to get you ahead in traffic. Given that, I spent most of my week in Eco mode and got a more than respectable 40.5 miles-per-gallon. That’s just a half a tick ahead of the Venza’s EPA-rated 40 mpg highway, 37 city and 39 combined.
On the ride handling side, the Venza is definitely tuned for comfort, gliding through rather than carving corners and absorbing the worst of asphalt imperfections without transmitting them into the cabin. Whether seated up front or out back there’s plenty of comfort to be had, plenty of headroom too, my only (minor) complaint being ventilated seats of the “Wait, are these actually on?” variety.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Clear skies above… if you push the right button.
Tim Stevens/Roadshow
The 2021 Toyota Venza starts at $32,470 plus $860 delivery, while the Limited version I tested raises the starting price to $39,800. Limited adds treats like an overhead, 360-degree camera, trim niceties like the interior illumination, heated and ventilated front seats and access to that Star Gaze roof — though that’s an additional $1,400.
The great news is that Toyota’s Safety Sense 2.0 ADAS system comes standard on the lowest trim, including lane-departure warnings, adaptive cruise and blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts. Given the powertrain also remains unchanged, it’s really just luxuries you’re paying a premium for, but given how pampered you feel in the Limited, it still seems like good value. That’s especially true if you compare it to something like the corporate-cousin Lexus NX Hybrid, which starts at $40,060 plus $1,025 delivery.
So, then, consider this rebirth a success. The 2021 Toyota Venza impresses on multiple levels. It looks good, drives well and does a remarkably good job of playing the luxury game. It’s a standout in an ever-expanding sea of me-too SUVs.

About Toyota Highlander key and lock structure
Toyota is a Japanese multi-country vehicle producer based in Toyota Aichi, Japan Constructed in 1937 by constructing common vehicles.
Toyota originate adopting  transponder keys in 1998. A few decrepit vehicles keys might be comfortably replicated utilizing on board process, however with majority of later designs the radio-frequency signal is enciphered and an exclusive diagnostic hardware is needed.
Contemporary designs (since 2007) uses push-start electric ignition platform and the Smart Key System as key-less entry.
Ignition repair
By cause of locking and unlocking the car ignition thousands of times, it is certainly typical to experience some sort of ignition problem and the syndrome could be ignition key can't turn in the ignition, ignition key turn freely in the ignition, ignition key is hard to turn in the ignition and dash board lights flashing and you can't turn over your car.
The source of those burdens might be a dilapidated key or an ignition lock problem and for the two circumstances, ignition repair or replacement is a task for an adept agent, so our recommendation to drivers not to try to repair the ignition tumbler by non experience individual which may will induce a larger hardship.
</p> <h5>Dilapidated Toyota Highlander ignition key</h5> <p> If your car is too old and you’re taking several trips every day, your ignition key can worn from the thousands of times it has been inserted and turned in the ignition switch. After so many years, the ignition key might omit the firmly defined peaks and valleys that match it to the ignition cylinder. hampering the key and restrain it from turning.
Call your Toyota Highlander dealer after finding your VIN and ask if he are able to issue a backup key. If the dealership cannot do it, the bad ignition key have to be produced by an auto lock man utilizing relevant diagnostic, cutters and key programmer tools based on the VIN number.
</p> <h5>Broken Toyota Highlander ignition cylinder</h5> <p> Suffering from problem caused by the ignition tumbler, it could be due to the fact that foreign object or dust captured in the ignition key-pocket or possibly a detach or loose spring or axis inside the ignition cylinder barring the ignition from turning. Utilizing relevant ignition troubleshooting, programming and repairing tools a lock-smith will remove any foreign object or dust from within the key-tunnel rekey or strengthen ignition lock or maybe even outplace the ignition overall.
Transponder chip key originate
Due to the high rates of car theft back in the 90’s, majority of motor vehicles since approximately 1995 adopt electrical keys and locks based on transponder chip key, passive anti theft or vehicle anti theft keys.
The main idea of using transponder keys is to obtain anti theft structure in which the car consists of car's computer and the key consists of a small scale chip commonly hidden in it's plastic apex.
The moment the user inject the key into the ignition key-pit, signal is conveyed to the vehicle computer. If the engine control unit will not recognize the message, the car would not flare up. Transponder keys means that the key ought to be correctly coded to the immobiliser and some cars lends accoutrement for on-board key copy.
Toyota Highlander smart-key
Pushtostart ignition infrastructure arrive with a fobik device that a user can stash in his briefcase, pocket or purse, or wherever within a distance of 5 feet to the immobilizer inside the car.
The proximity key chip deliver a distinct low audio and infrared frequency indication message to the car computer, which then confirms that the right indication message has been transmitted and allows the driver to remotely open and close the car doors and trunk locks in addition to click a push-buttons on the dash-board to goes off or start up the car bypassing utilizing a key or pressing a toggles on the fob.
Even though smartkeys and push 2 start ignition turned to be greatly applicable, even on mid-level vehicles, these structures are not yet automobile necessity as electrical door locks and windows, nevertheless, the comfort aspect is a a key consideration for numerous smart-keys shoppers.
Copy vs lost car keys
Modern Toyota Highlander key and lock instrument enclose car immobilizer and transponder chip key and although transponder keys arrive in a line of high security, smart key, fob-key and switch blade key keys, the fundamental concept behind this mechanism is that the transponder deliver a message to the receiver in the car. If the receiver does not identify a compatible message, the combustible system will disband and the car will not burst.
Several earliest designs keys could be simply copied using dash board procedure, however generally to copy a surplus key, the chip inside the key must be coded by a compatible key programmer carried by the dealership or a locksmith.
If all your keys is stolen or lost, the car computer module must be decoded to accept the new key and renounce the old one. This practice serves as a safety feature insuring the immobilization of the misplaced or stolen key. This key recovery, solution applicable only to the Toyota Highlander dealer or a licensed locksmith, which actually means that you’ll have hire a motor vehicle keysmith or haul your car to the dealer.

2020 Hyundai Palisade Pricing: Cheaper than the Kia Telluride?
As we wait patiently for Hyundai to release the Palisade this summer, the automaker has finally revealed pricing information for the new SUV. The base front-wheel-drive Palisade SE will start at $32,595 including delivery fees. That price point is $140 lower than the 2020 Kia Telluride LX, this vehicle’s platform sibling. It’s also competitive in the three-row SUV segment, slotting in just barely above the Honda Pilot which starts at $32,495, but below the Toyota Highlander ($32,775) and the Mazda CX-9 ($33,325). The Palisade is also less pricey than the new Subaru Ascent ($32,970), though it’s important to consider that the Subaru comes with all-wheel-drive as standard. It’s a $1,700 option on all Palisade models.
Front-wheel-drive versions of the Palisade SEL and Palisade Limited start at $34,545 and $45,745 respectively, but don’t fret if your wallet is a little thin to make the jump—the entry-level Palisade is a well-equipped vehicle. Even the humble Palisade SE boasts active safety features including forward collision avoidance, full-speed adaptive cruise control, and lane-keep assist. Also standard are the power folding second-row seats and an 8.0-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
Graduating to the Palisade SEL nets buyers interior niceties such as heated front seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Convenience features on the SEL include door handle welcome lights and keyless entry with push-button start, plus blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alerts. Roof rails and chrome door handles distinguish the exterior. The SEL also offers some of the premium options only available on the Palisade Limited.
The $11,200 gap between the mid-level Palisade SEL and top-tier Palisade Limited is a massive price difference for a vehicle that’s mechanically identical to the rest of the lineup (all Palisade models rock a 3.8-liter V-6 paired with an eight-speed automatic). But Hyundai throws all the equipment at this one. Beyond the options standard on the SEL, the Limited gets 20-inch alloy wheels, self-leveling rear suspension, a hands-free powered liftgate, LED headlights and taillights, and a dual sunroof. Inside, the Palisade Limited boasts Nappa leather-lined heated and ventilated seats front and rear, an upgraded 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, a full digital instrument cluster, and a power-folding third row. It also benefits from an in-car intercom system to amplify your threats to “turn this car around.”
We’ll have to wait until our First Test to see how Hyundai’s new three-row performs compared to its competition. Based on our First Drive and the model’s competitive pricing, it seems the Palisade may be about to make quite the stir.

Toyota lost key made in Bloomfield NJ
One of the fundamental element of any Toyota is it's key and lock instrument, which have to be alternated if damaged or lost. When this sort of a trouble ensues we, at Bloomfield Key Replacement, in Bloomfield NJ, are utterly experienced to administer all patterns of vehicle key, lock or ignition malfunctions on premises.
Toyota transponder key is especially decoded to activate an explicit vehicle and our qualified employees can cut and program Toyota flip-key, transponder, sidewinder or Tibbe keys, and moreover repair, install or replace any type of ignition, keys and locks on-the-spot 24 seven.
About Toyota key lock infrastructure
Toyota car brand was designed by the Japanese manufacturer of cars Toyota in Toyota Aichi. The brand was 1st distributed in the U.S.A in 1937 as common cars. Since 1998  Toyota models employ  transponder keys that may be copied in a budget and convenient procedure, although contemporary models utilize encrypted transponders that must be programmed to the vehicle utilizing an appropriate diagnostic devices and if all keys are lost, the vehicle computer unit must be re boot.
Contemporary models beginning from  2007 consistently arrayed with the modern hi-tech Smart Key System keyless entry with traits as push-button start, blind spot info and keyless entry instruments.
Ignition switch repair
The Toyota ignition lock utilize 3 positions that activate different instrument when the driver turn the key. The ignition cylinder will activate the electronic accessories on the first stage, activate the fuel injection on the second stage and fire up the car engine on the third stage.
A noticeably common question people ask us over the phone to assist with, is diagnosing ignition  problems. Even though our agent are generally ecstatic to tackle and help in diagnosis your situation, it can be pretty hard to render over the phone. On top of carrying dedicated Toyota diagnostic and lock pick tools, an elemental proficiency of how car ignition  function is required, but before you call an ignnition locksmith please check the options below:
No dash board lights
If you turn the key in ignition on but have no lights turn on on the instrument panel which in fact means that there is no electrical power running from the car battery. It might be A deflated battery or maybe even a bad alternator or electronic wiring connection could cause this. Turn on the front lights, if they wont light up, means the battery has no power which is a job for a  electrician.
Key will not turn in ignition
Exceedingly all car accommodate a steering column locking mechanism that is being locked when ever you pull the ignition key out of the switch  when you finish each drive. Some times, the steering wheel can lock in a position that creates strain to the ignition , and averts the key from turning (when you park on a hill) or when one of the front wheels is depressed against an obstacle (like sidewalk edge).
Note - Before you start troubleshooting this issue, please verify that your vehicle shifting gear is on park.
Hold the  wheel and try to shift the  steering wheel to the sides right and left and back and forth during lightly shake right and left the ignition  key - this might help to release the steering lock.
The ignition cylinder is remarkably important element of any vehicle and consisting of manifold tiny components that can be wearisome to diagnose by an unqualified personal, so the only thing you advised to do suffering from ignition  problems is to verify you are actually trying to start up your very own vehicle and call a car lock-smith to come out to your juncture to repair, reprogram  replace the key or ignition which will priced as about $160–$360.
Transponder chipped key make
Stylish car equipped with engine control unit and car keys are paired with discrete chip found stashed inside the crest of the key or on the blade (in vehicle anti theft system) keys. When the chipped key is put in the ignition key-pit, the transponder chip send an exclusive code for the immobiliser to be recognized. Without this appropriate authorization code, the motor vehicle will not burst.
When a driver lose or want to duplicate his key, the transponder should be decoded with the same code so it would be designated by the immobiliser.
Several automobile manufacturers models and years present dash-board foundation for addition of keys, though if all keys are lost, the car main computer should be reprogrammed by appropriate programming machine owned by a locksmith or the dealership.
Toyota keyless entry
Keyless entry device remotes, also called (RKE or RKS) allow owners to unlock and lock their car or truck remotely besides alternative features like opening the trunk or kindling the front-facing fog lights to raise visibility in cold weather or at night. Also, a lot of the modernized keys integrate remote starting feature that is turnning to be mandatory on contemporary models.
Mightily all smartkeys integrate a proximity-detector-based infrastructure that is light up when the keyless entry found within a explicit range of the car. This Keyless entry are handsfree which means that the vehicle can be locked and unlocked or deactivate and turn over the car ignition without owners input.
Copy vs lost car keys
The good old days of making a vehicle key by having a low cost mechanical blankey and cut at a walmart or a home depot store by the vehicle ID number are way behind us. Exceedingly all contemporary cars equipped either with transponder keys and immobiliser as well as smartkeys and push button start ignition.
The keys accommodate an assembled chip which interacts with the vehicle ECM in the motor vehicle. If the car computer system doesn't recognize the key, the vehicle does not start.
This contemporary electrical locks and key structure integrate additional convenience and security and is pretty helpful anti theft structure, but outplacing them if they get broken or stolen should be done by the dealer or a mobile locksmith with a unique Toyota diagnostic machinery and key programmer and generally can be pricey.
24 hour car lock out
If you locked yourself out of your vehicle, you enter the right article. Our  car lock out ervice can assist you in popping each and every kind of truck, SUV, car or van easily with no hardship to electrical wiring, the power locks, door frame or windows. Sometimes, in situations that you need a key extraction or a lost key made service utilizing cutters, diagnostic equipment and programmers. Instead of using the service of a towing-truck to tow your vehicle to the dealer, we hire an emergency lock-smith workshop on wheels who is adequate to drive to your location to help you out of your pain onsite.
Car locks rekeying
Did you contracted for a brand new Toyota ignition and obligate to restore an old-fashioned one?, lost the last key to your car? or got one of your Toyota keys appropriated?, wish to make sure that no one else gain the skill to turn on your car? Good News! You enter the right place, due to alterating of car locks is one of Bloomfield Key Replacement particular facet. The 2020 Kia Telluride Is Classy and Comfortable
Remember the Kia Borrego from a decade ago? I didn’t think so, but that’s alright. Kia would likely prefer you forget its first (and last) foray into the full-size, body-on-frame SUV segment that lasted just one model year in the States. Even contemporary reviews were skeptical of Kia’s plan, questioning the decision to roll out the lumbering, thirsty Borrego as the market grappled with high fuel prices and shifted toward smaller unibody crossovers.
Today, Kia’s aim is far truer across its entire lineup, and the company took its time developing a new large three-row SUV. The result is the new 2020 Telluride, and it proves the Koreans remain thoroughly in touch with the times.
It Looks Fantastic
Though it is the largest Kia SUV ever, it’s still considered mid-size, albeit at the larger end of the segment. Underneath the square-shouldered exterior lie bones shared with the Hyundai Palisade, but where that model is styled with a sort of anodyne handsomeness, the Telluride has honest-to-goodness presence, even while prowling the Range Rover and Land Cruiser–filled streets of its namesake city in Colorado.
It’s a wide, muscular design, with one of the best implementations of Kia’s “tiger nose” grille to date. It’s decidedly upmarket in execution, reminding us more of the Cadillac XT6 or Volvo XC90 than segment mates like the Honda Pilot and Ford Explorer, especially around back with its inverted “L” taillights. It’s a cohesive, style-forward look that would be as welcome at the valet stand of a country club as in the muddy parking lot of a country-music concert.
The powertrain isn’t as high-society as the styling. Buyers have just one choice of engine and transmission, the 3.8-liter naturally-aspirated Lambda II V-6 and Kia’s in-house-developed eight-speed automatic transmission. Output of 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque is dead on for the competition, hustling the two-ton-plus Telluride to 60 mph in something like eight seconds. The transmission was a little busier than we’d have preferred while in traffic and along winding roads, but it settled down at highway speeds. We didn’t get a fully accurate read on overall performance thanks to the region’s power-sapping lofty elevation—which turbocharging can mitigate—but we’d imagine there shouldn’t be any problem shuttling a load full of ski bums between slopes.
Ride and noise isolation are excellent, especially for the Telluride’s size. Body control and rebound is well managed, even when slamming over moderate-size potholes ripped open during recent weather in the region. The first stretch cut through the curvaceous mountain passes between Gateway and Telluride, and despite the Kia’s overall softness, is handling is more competent than you might expect. It gets settled quickly after turning into a corner and stays that way while corner carving far beyond any reasonable expectations of a comfort-oriented three-row crossover.
Excellent Insides
It’s comfy inside as well. Kia always manages to make interiors assembled with cost in mind feel like money was close to no object, and things are even better in the Telluride. None of the wood or “metal” surfaces are real, but if we didn’t mention that, you’d be hard-pressed to notice. It’s good to be a passenger, too, especially with the option of cooled/heated second-row captain’s chairs in place of a standard three-person row. (That drops the eight-seater to a seven-person cockpit.) Kiddos and fidgety adults will be placated with two USB ports per row for their dying devices. Hopping in the back row is a button-press away, as the second-row seats move easily, and there’s acceptable room in the way back for any adult of medium build or under.
We spent all of our time in a loaded-out SX with the luxe Prestige package, replete with Nappa leather upholstery and a microfiber headliner, so we can’t speak on entry-level Tellurides.
But at least in those we drove, there’s plenty of tech to keep you satisfied and connected. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is standard on all trim levels, projected through either the standard 8.0-inch infotainment screen or higher trim’s 10.3-inch unit. Don’t worry about waking the sleepy passengers in the back thanks to the new Quiet Mode that can restrict infotainment audio output to just the front row. Conversely, if it’s getting a little rowdy, Driver Talk allows the front passengers to project their voices to the rear through an integrated microphone system.
Rough and Kinda Ready
Kia pushes the Telluride as a rough-and-ready ridge crusher, though we’re not so sure it’s as capable as it’s made out to be, at least out of the box. Before its full reveal in Detroit this past January, the Telluride stopped by 2018 New York Fashion Week wearing a full kit of 4×4 hardware, including knobby tires and an intake snorkel. Fast forward to SEMA in November, and four heavily modified trail-ready Tellurides gave demonstration rides around a closed off-road course. And in ads, the SUV is shown off the beaten pavement.
In front-wheel-drive models, driving modes are limited to Smart, Eco, Sport, and Comfort that modify steering, throttle, and shift points. All-wheel-drive Tellurides come with a Snow mode and AWD Lock setting that distributes power to all-four-wheels equally under 40 mph. Beyond that, you’re on your own out on the trails without a dedicated off-road driving mode or tools like hill-descent control. Regardless, 8.0 inches of ground clearance and locking AWD made short work of the brief off-road portion of our drive route. Although the path was scraped clean of any major obstacles, the Telluride slid through dusty sweepers and crashed through small rivulets slashing across the road without any shudders or other issues.
On-road assists are a different matter—there are tons of them. Blind-spot monitoring, driver-attention warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, cross-traffic avoidance, and automatic cruise control are all standard. Jump up to the EX and SX trims, and the Level 2 semi-autonomous (according to Kia) Highway Drive Assist appears, handling steering and adjusting to changes in the speed limit while on a highway.
Stick with the base LX trim, and expect to pay $32,735, which aligns with the base prices of the $32,495 Toyota Highlander, $32,970 Subaru Ascent, and $32,495 Honda Pilot, but is a smidge more than the $31,125 Chevrolet Traverse. Mid-level S and EX trims start at $35,035 and $38,135, while our fully loaded SX with Prestige package clocks in at $46,860, a hefty amount but the going rate for a heavily equipped non-luxury three-row these days. It’s a competitive market, but the 2020 Telluride is one of the best-looking models among its peers, and it offers up tons of interior comfort, amenities, and space. This particular three-row Kia is assuredly going to stick around for a lot longer than one model year.
2020 Kia Telluride Specifications
ON SALE May PRICE $32,735 ENGINE 3.8L DOHC 24-valve V-6; 291 hp @ 6,000 rpm, 262 lb-ft @ 5,200 rpm TRANSMISSION 8-speed automatic LAYOUT 4-door, 7- or 8-passenger, front-engine, FWD or AWD SUV EPA MILEAGE 19–20/24–26 mpg (city/hwy) L x W x H 196.9 x 78.3 x 68.9 in WHEELBASE 114.2 in WEIGHT 4,112–4,482 lb (mfr) 0–60 MPH 8.1 sec (est.) It’s a cohesive, style-forward look that would be as welcome at the valet stand of a country club as in the muddy parking lot of a country-music concert.

2020 Kia Telluride First Drive: New City Name and High Hopes
During my early days at MotorTrend, there was a running joke in the office that our long-term Kia Borrego was abandoned. Long-term test vehicles typically stay for a year, but our burnt orange Borrego was a fixture in #MTGarage for almost twice as long before it finally went back to Kia. Coincidentally, just as we were saying bye to the Borrego, so was the rest of the U.S.—Kia discontinued the SUV after just one model year on the market after it fell short of sales targets.
It wasn’t because it was a bad SUV. In fact, the notes in our logbook were generally positive. But ultimately we thought its worst feature was timing. With high gas prices a not-too-distant memory and a recession on buyers’ minds, there had been better times to launch a full-size, body-on-frame SUV.
It was an admirable risk for Kia but apparently not one worth taking again. Almost a decade after the Borrego’s demise, the new 2020 Kia Telluride debuts on a more practical front-drive-based unibody platform aimed directly at big sellers like the Honda Pilot, Nissan Pathfinder, and Toyota Highlander.
The Telluride makes a strong first impression based on styling alone, especially compared to the aforementioned competitors. Sure, it has a simple and boxy silhouette, but Americans can’t seem to get enough of boxes on wheels (see Mercedes G-Class). Exterior brightwork is also restrained, with a few interesting touches like the upward kink at the bottom of the B-pillar. The taillights—which Kia describes as an “inverted L”—are the most polarizing design element, but they fit well on the Telluride and look sharp lit up at night.
The 2020 Telluride’s size also contributes to its eye-catching looks. It stretches 196.9 inches long and stands 78.3 inches wide, making the Telluride almost 8 inches longer and 4 inches wider than the Sorento while sharing similar dimensions as the Volkswagen Atlas, Pathfinder, and Pilot. It’s big inside, too—Kia claims total interior volume is a cavernous 178.1 cubic feet, and that the 21 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row of seats is the best in its segment.
Kia’s largest crossover is estimated to weigh between 4,100 and 4,500 pounds, and the sole powertrain available to lug around that weight is a 3.8-liter V-6 rated at 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. That’s mated to an eight-speed auto that sends power to the front wheels. All-wheel drive is optional. Four drive modes adjust powertrain and steering behavior (Smart, Eco, Comfort, and Sport); AWD models get additional Snow and AWD Lock modes, the latter of which evenly distributes power to all four wheels. Smart and Eco drive the front wheels; Comfort and Snow mode send up to 20 percent of power to the rear wheels. That number jumps to 35 percent in Sport mode. A rear air suspension setup is available to keep the Telluride’s ride height at optimal levels.
For our first stint at the wheel, Kia handed us keys to a Telluride AWD with its navigation set to take us through the winding roads and majestic canyons starting in Gateway, Colorado, and ending at the crossover’s namesake town of Telluride. Would we have liked more power, especially at highway passing speeds? Absolutely. But the powertrain is adequate for small ski towns with low speed limits and feels on par for the segment. We’ll be eager to see how the Telluride performs with a cabin full of passengers and gear, and against its competitors like the upcoming Ford Explorer with its tempting array of turbo engines, including a base turbo-four pumping out 300 hp and 310 lb-ft.
Suspension tuning hasn’t always been one of Kia’s strengths, which is why we were a tad surprised by how well the Telluride handles. The crossover is satisfyingly planted through fast sweepers at speeds that most owners likely won’t explore, and the ride feels taut yet smooth while cruising. It’s quiet, too. Colorado’s roads are relatively well maintained, so we’ll see how the Telluride handles the more challenging road surfaces back home in Los Angeles. But overall the Telluride feels solid and well put together—we noted little to no squeaks or rattles during a light off-road excursion.
That feeling of solidity carries on inside. Material quality and ergonomics are good, and so is overall visibility. Sitting high on the dashboard is a responsive and intuitive touchscreen infotainment system. Value has always been a strong point for Kia, and it’s no different with the Telluride. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on all trim levels, as are push-button start, five USB ports, and satellite radio. Higher trim levels get a large 10.3-inch infotainment screen (8.0-inch is standard), wireless phone charging, Bluetooth connectivity for two phones, and a total of six USB ports (two for each row). We drove a fully loaded SX model with the Prestige package that adds more goodies including a head-up display, Nappa leather, and a suede-like headliner.
The as-tested price for our top-of-the line Telluride AWD (including the $2,000 Prestige Package) was $46,860, which is about $2,200 less than a loaded Pilot Elite AWD. The base model Telluride LX starts at $32,735 and is competitive with Highlander ($32,425) and Pilot ($32,495), while the midlevel S and EX models start at $35,035 and $38,135, respectively. Kia predicts Telluride S and EX will make up 66 percent of total sales.
Other notable features include Driver Talk and Quiet Mode, which are standard on EX and SX. The former features a microphone that allows the driver to communicate with second- and third-row passengers. Quiet Mode cuts audio for both rear rows, allowing kids to sleep or play Nintendo Switch without enduring their parents’ boring podcasts or talk radio shows. An eight-passenger setup with a middle-row bench is standard, while a pair of second-row captain chairs (heated and ventilated on the SX with the Prestige package) is optional. Access to the third row is easy: Simply press a button on the upper edge of the second-row seat. Back-row seating should be comfortable for two average-sized adults or three kids, but taller folks will likely have to get creative to avoid hitting the headliner.
Kia is confident the Telluride will earn top safety marks from the NHTSA and IIHS, and buyers should feel good about the long list of drive assist systems including Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Collision Avoidance, and Lane Follow Assist (which essentially combines LKA and adaptive cruise). Telluride EX and SX get Highway Drive Assist, which Kia considers Level 2 semi-autonomous capability due to its ability to handle most highway steering and adjust to speed limits.
When it comes to efficiency, the EPA rates the FWD Telluride at 20/26 mpg city/highway, 19/24 for AWD. Those numbers are on par with Pilot and Highlander and slightly better than Atlas and the Chevrolet Traverse.
And with that, Toyota, Honda, and Ford have another serious contender in the crowded field of large three-row crossovers. With handsome looks and a well-rounded package, the new Telluride should have no worries about being abandoned.
