Dear dA staff...fix your shit

People are losing faith in the admins and the website as a whole. More and more user are feeling ignored by the staff and feel the site does not care for their userbase BUT for the money that the users may offer up. Trolls and art thieves are countless.  Impersonation accounts and scammers run rampant. Toxic users are increasing Seriously…this site has become trash over the years. A JOKE SITE more than an art site Countless artists have had their work stolen and thebreport system is beyond flawed 1.Many are too afraid to report. Thanks to all the private information needed AND THE FACT IT IS GIVEN TO THE PERPETRATOR. The perpetrator maybe a troll or something worse and use such details for vile means or dox the victim. Other users are minors and should not have to do that. It’s a danger to give that information out. 2. Many victims of copyright infringement are clueless to how DA or DMCAs operate. Many unable to go through the report due to language barriers and can not get outside help due to “only the artist can report” This makes it hard for many as they do not know how to got through with the reports. Other’s may have learning disabilities or anxiety and the idea of sending such a form is frightening and added stress on top of having one’s work stolen is unnecessary 3. What if the real artist has sadly passed away or no longer contactable? Do we allow these scammer, these fakes, these attention seekers get away with it? It’s disrespectful for the dead for one. 4. One shouldn’t need an account to file a report. That is ridiculous. The help desk is also utterly useless and there is no easy email to contact to deal with these infringements 5. Rules exist but are not followed? 3 strike and out with some exceptions? It shouldn’t be like that.  If someone does it continuously they should be banned. Other sites take them down no exception. 6. Multiple reports by 1 artist will count as one. This is wrong. They should be counted separately. If an artist is being targeted then it how is it right for the real artist to suffer while someone takes their work. All other websites would treat a multiple report from a single user as multiple incidents not one. 7.Staff who steal and break the rules themselves. Why should we trust admins to deal with copyright infringement when admins themselves commit it? 8. Screenshots, official art or licensed works. These should not need proof or the need to contact a studio or company. It’s common sense. When did you stop dealing with these case like before? Did you all just get lazy? Come on it’s ridiculous the amount of fake accounts that post nothing but official material. Please look into a system like pixiv where others can report situations on behalf of others or if they have valid proof. Users who have been harrassed, bullied or threatened feel ignored by staff. 1.It should not take several months to get an answer. They should not get ignored , blocked or banned from the help desk. This is why users have no faith in the staff. They get harrassed then ignored by the staff. Telling someone who is being harrassed and threatened to block and ignore doesn’t help. Staff needs to put in the effort to deal with it. 2. Outside report should be accepted. Again much like the case of theft. Outside reports should be taken into consideration. The victim maybe to afraid to step forwards, unable to find the place to report, may not be capable of reporting themselves. Other problems 1. stop having one rule for one lot and another for others. For years this has happened How many times have i seen yuri, hetero or girls with sextoy get a pass despite it having oral sex , underage characters or some other inappropriate and rule breaking. Censored or not they are kept. Yet censored,  flacid, legal age males get falsely flagged and bam gone or two adult canon age males, arms around shoulders half naked. Reported and bam gone. Censored male mildly pornographic also gone. Seeing some unfairness there or bias. Is it the boobs or something that distract you lot? Deal with case equality. Pay attention to the imagery. I wonder do the staff even know what they are doing at this point.

2. Staff read the fucking descriptions. Pornographic content can also be in the description of works. There can be pornographic links. When people report that pay attention. Those are against the rules but you just ignore these rule violations. It’s ridiculous that you let pornographic links pass. 3. Report system is flawed and help desk is difficult to navigate. It should not take hours to find the help desk. It shouldn’t require desktop to file a ticket for help. It should be clear and easy Again. I suggest taking a look at the report system for pixiv or even art station. Easy to find. Easy to use. 4. One should not need to go and flag rule breaking images one by one. One should be able to mass report images or profiles. If someone has uploaded nothing but porn or god forbid child porn. One should not need to go through the trauma of reporting one by one. Please fix these flaws of the site. These would be more productive then throwing a flawed new design that majority detests or making a podcast. There are too many issues that need to be addressed. DA is already going down hill please don’t let it keep heading that way. It is upsetting to see a once wonderful and fun site becoming a pit of toxicity, trolls and copyright abusers

Okay, but for real, I’m super glad that that part of the fandom has more or less migrated to the "tag-that-shall-not-be-named.”.

Y’know the ones that...

a.) Will attack you if you have an opposing ship

b.) Hate any male character that isn’t Ren for often no reason other than “They have a dick/they get in the way of my yuri.”

c.) Accuse male characters of doing things they never actually did to justify their dislike, or dramatize what they did do in an attempt to villainize them.

d.) Have the double standard of ignoring all the shit their waifus do, even if it’s similar to something that they use to shit on the male characters. Especially bad if the female character in question does something worse than one of their hated male characters ever did. 

e.) Claim they support the LGBT+ community but when discussions of certain characters possibly being non-hetero come up they’ll get pissed if you say any character outside of their yuri OTP.  (One of the most jarring examples I’ve seen is someone claiming they only ship girl/girl ships and that they think boy/boy ships were “gross.” This person proceeded in another post to claim they were an ally despite, again, saying they thought the idea of two men being in a relationship was “gross.” No, just no.)

e-2.) Also they’re the type of people who’ll foam at the mouth if you say you headcanon Ruby as asexual because it “gets in the way” of their ship, seemingly ignoring that asexual people are fully capable of romance.

e-3.) When actual LGBT+ members of the fandom tell them they’re being irrational/sending a bad message/bullies/fetishizing different sexualities/[insert about a million other things] and that they should stop the bastards will then turn on the people they’re supposedly “allies” to and tell them they don’t have any right to say how LGBT+ characters should be presented even though they’re literally speaking to people who are LGBT+

e-4.) Just the misandry, biphobia, acephobia, heterophobia (and several others I can’t think of at the moment) that these fucking hypocrites spread around while claiming they’re allies??? Like WTF???  

f.) Will send death threats if you have a different opinion than them.

g.) Over react to things before we get the full story/completion of an arc. (Calling Illia a “psycho lesbian” before that arc was even over/Shouting about Jaune and toxic masculinity even though his first major character arc was about him getting over that and becoming a better person as a result.)

h.) Not understanding that while Team RWBY are the protagonists, Team JNPR are the deuteragonists, and are also main characters and YES THEIR SCREEN TIME IS NEEDED WHY DO YOU ASK!?

i.) Saying that Kerry and Miles are “ruining” the show and subsequently claiming that they have a better idea of Monty’s vision than two of his close friends who had been helping him write the narrative since the beginning and who have said that Monty had left behind a ton of notes, including possibilities for JN_R and RWBY as adults. (Like most of them have probably never even met Monty face to face except for a few seconds at a con at most but then go around and shout that his friends, his brother, and his ex-fiance are disgracing him. Like, what the actual fuck.)

i-2.) Just using Monty’s death in general as an excuse to be a dick to his two friends who are trying their best to keep their deceased friend’s dream going. (Like seriously, the fuck is wrong with you?) (You’re lower than scum if you’re one of the people who are shitting on his brother and fiance.)

i-3.) Shitting on the animation staff for not being able to replicate Monty’s unique style of fight scenes, even though that’s entirely subjective, and ignoring the hard work they’ve put in to make the non-fight scene animations look amazing (which is something the first three volumes struggled with considerably due to tech limitations and budget restraints). (Like the scene in V4 where Ruby finds Jaune training at night is visually stunning, how do you willfully ignore that kind of progress???)

i-4.) Acting like the only thing important about the show is fight scenes even though it’s been character driven since V1 and then turning around and raving about the “lack” of character interactions (aka the lack of “moments” between their ship.)

j.) Try to claim that the character designs fetishizes teenage girls (the only characters that can be argued for this imo is Emerald and MAYBE Pyrrha. The rest dress like how you’d expect nearly college aged teens to dress in a fantasy setting), but then go ahead to draw and then post nsfw images of Ruby Rose and Oscar Pine, who are only fifteen and fourteen years old respectively.

k.) Go around telling other people that their ships are toxic and abusive when no such thing happens in their on screen interactions and then hypocritically ship pedo ships like Qrow/Oscar. (Yes, this is a ship that’s getting passed around that part of the fandom and it’s disgusting.) (Like Qrow is in his thirties [???] and Oscar is fucking fourteen!!! What is wrong with you sickos!?) 

l.) Weep tears of joy whenever a female character shows emotional conflict/turmoil over something (which is often) but when a male character shows even a smidgen of emotion they get pissed and call it “man-pain.”

m.) Try to claim that you’re lgbt+phobic if you have a hetero ship that isn’t Renora or Arkos. Still do this even after members of the LGBT+ part of the fandom have asked them to stop.

m-2.) Claim that CWBY are lgbt+phobic despite the fact that several members of said crew, including VAs, are part of the LGBT+ community. This is especially bad when they shout at the writers for taking “so long” to confirm that a character (Illia) is LGBT when they’ve repeatedly stated that the characters are a.) going to discover their sexualities as time goes on like RL people do and b.) that they wanted to introduce these characters organically in hopes of avoiding the much hated “Token Gay” trope. (Only gets worse when that confirmation wasn’t for a member of Team RWBY and it became clear these fuckers only wanted a gay character for their ship and nothing else. Like I saw so many posts being mad that an important supporting character was gay but their OTP was still unconfirmed. All from the same people shitting on CWBY for taking so long. Like???)

m-3.) Also them trying to say that the appearance of lgbt+ people in the background (like the SSSN fanboy and the two cutie-pies with the weird bamboo-heart-plant thing) is queer-baiting when really it’s inclusive because it’s showing that yes, there are lgbt+ people in Remnant outside the main and major-supporting characters.

There’s so much more bullshit I could call them out on but I’ll stop here because this will be like twenty pages long if I don’t. Feel free to add what bs you’ve seen from them.
