That's what's got her upset, really. Isabella wants him to stay, wants the summer to stay, more than anything. She just has a hard time talking about it. After all, Phineas is so bright and resilient and nothing ever seems to get him down. It doesn't seem fair to drag him down with her problems, especially when they're problems that are out of her hands.

"I guess I'm just sad that we're so close to school starting again. I have so much fun with you all summer, and... what if we end up in different classes? What if we barely ever see each other?"

It's been eating at her, making her worry even though she knows it's out of her control. Summer feels sacred, in a way, and she doesn't want it to end. She doesn't want her time with Phineas to end. And in her moment of vulnerability, she doesn't even remember to cover it under claims that she's talking about the whole group.

"I know it's silly. But I'm starting to miss you already, even though you're not gone."

"Hey, it's not like I want to go home. Don't mention it," Pacifica says, swinging her legs gently. It's nice up here. High enough to feel like she's closer to the stars, but not so high that she's afraid of falling and dying. Leave it to the moth girl to have a good perch.

Arya might not know, actually. Pacifica has opened up a little. Enough that Arya definitely knows things aren't good at home, but a lot of details have been left unsaid. It's hard for Pacifica to talk about. Feels like betraying someone she loves, although she's not sure whether that someone is her parents or herself. If it's her parents, she probably shouldn't mind too much. If it's herself... well, she knows she isn't bad or lame or weak for letting herself be misled and mistreated. But knowing something doesn't always make it easy to fully feel and believe and understand.

Now's not the time for that sort of introspection, though. Now she's breathing in the late summer air, crisp and cool enough to just slightly chill her arms, and a very pretty, interesting, cool girl is sitting next to her.

"So... do you live out here? Or is this just a nice place to bring... friends?" She's not sure friends is what they are. But it's a nice, soft, inoffensive word. So she uses it even as she scoots closer to Arya, even as she notices the way the stars reflect in her eyes.
