people oft like to make reference to having ‘tennis merch’. i dont think that exists. you mean that one nike court shirt? a slam hat? copping the same nike kit as rafa or something?those r basically our only three options as afar as merch goes and lets be real they all suck

#like i am spoiled by being a hockey fan which is second only to baseball in merch game #all big four leagues really #and its the tragedy of the individual sport rather than enduring team legacy #but that said idk why people ever talk about tennis merch when it doesnt really exist #like getting a tennis kit is only worthwhile if you play tennis and even then it’s not common #source i have seen every genre of amateur tennis player and mostly they dont buy kits #cause u change kits like every month it doesnt work as merch the way a jersey does #tournament merch CAN work in theory because that is our legacy instead of teams #but. most tourney merch is boring at best and ugly at worst #and then the nike court shirts of the world just are the vague ‘shirt with the concept of tennis’ idea #which doesnt really count as merch. to me #tennis
