Unique Dubai Points of Interest That You Must Visit
Dubai has no shortage of amazing tourist attractions to check out, from the tallest building in the world to the historical markets, this city is a true travel hub. However, there are some incredible experiences that visitors won’t find in their travel guides, but that definitely should be done. Take the road less travelled and check out all this Emirate has to offer.
7. Dubai Opera This jaw-dropping construction can be seen when driving down Downtown, but few tourists actually take the time to buy tickets and attend the shows. The Dubai Operaopened in August 2016 and has already brought some of the biggest musicals and operas in the globe to town, such as Les Miserables, La Boheme and CATS. Other than high-quality shows, the building itself is a work of art. A night at the opera is a great opportunity to get dressed up and feel culturally enriched while visiting Dubai.
6. Meydan Hotel Meydan is a massive hotel that offers much more than meets the eye. This beautiful hotel is where the Dubai World Cup is held one of Dubai’s biggest social events as well as several other horse races. Race enthusiasts can come to watch the races during the winter and spring months, take a tour of the stables and even take riding lessons. Meydan also has a golf course and running track.
5. Alserkal Avenue Alserkal Avenue is a hipster spot in Dubai. This small block in Al Quoz, formerly an industrial area, gathers art galleries, trendy cafes and even a theatre. One could spend a whole day visiting the art galleries in Alserkal Avenue. Check out their website for upcoming events, as markets, concerts and plays take place throughout the year.
4. Dubai Brunches Dubai is famous for its brunch scene, and although residents will spend their entire Fridays having brunch, tourists don’t seem to be very aware of all the experiences on offer. On Fridays, and sometimes Saturdays, restaurants offer popular set-menu, all-you-can-eat/drink brunches. Some of the best in the city are at Ewaan at the Palace Downtown, Coya at the Four Seasons in Jumeirah and Nobu at Atlantis in The Palm Jumeirah.
3. BOXPARK This place truly is Dubai residents’ little secret. BOX PARK is an outdoor mall with several cool restaurants and trendy shops, located on Al Wasl Road. Perhaps the coolest aspect is that all outlets look like massive shipping containers. The containers are super colorful and are a great place to spend some time, window shop and take some unique pictures.
2. Skydive Dubai This is the perfect experience for all adrenaline junkies visiting Dubai. Skydive Dubai has made waves internationally, so why not take a break to free-fall from 13,000 feet with a unique view of The Palm Jumeirah at a speed of 120 miles an hour? Spots must be booked in advance, so if you’re planning on trying this once-in-a-lifetime experience, get on their website and book your space.
1. Beach Clubs As Dubai is sunny year-round it’s not surprising that the beach clubs are always crowded. However, this seems to be an experience that only residents indulge in. Hitting up some of the city’s beach clubs like Zero Gravity, Nikki Beach, Cove Beach and Blue Marlin can be a great way to enjoy the sun, check out the local party scene and meet residents. Most of these allow walk-ins, but those looking for the real Dubai experience can get a table (for a price).

Dubai Points of Interest That Will Make You Wish You Lived
14. The Dubai Mall 13. Wild Wadi Water Park 12. Burj Al Arab 11. Dubai Marina 10. Palm Jumeirah 9. Bollywood Parks 8. Al Mamzar Park
7. Dubai Museum Dubai’s oldest building in existence is the Dubai Museum which has preserved since 1787. Located in the Al Fahidi Fort, the historical district, the museum is home to an arrangement of artefacts, paintings, and exhibits. Most of the museums collection dates back as far as 2,500 BC including, “a number of small wooden boats, with air-conditioning systems that provided cooling before pre-electricity times” according to RaynaTours’ review. In 2013 the museum beat its record for amount of visitors hosting 1 million that year.
6. Ski Dubai One doesn’t usually associate a desert climate with winter activities, but when you live in the heat all year round you may wish to experience the other side. To accompany this way of thought, Ski Dubai was introduced into the Dubai Mall. The “resort”, if you will, is an 240,000 sq/ft man-made mountain which provides snow tubing, skiing, and snow boarding hills. Ski Dubai is located inside the Dubai Mall so don’t expect a Canadian mountain, but it does offer 5 hills (all at different difficulties) and three chair-lift systems.
5. Ravi For those looking to experience authentic Pakistani-Indian cuisine, Ravi is the place to go. It is one of Dubai’s longest standing restaurants and offers an array of homemade curries. The recent popularity of Dubai has allowed Ravi to expand its restaurant, adding an additional family area, allowing more seating to already busy lunch hour peak. Popular dishes include: chicken boti, mutton tika, daal and mutton kebab. The restaurant is famous for their breakfast dishes as it’s only open between 5:00am-2:30pm.
4. The World Dubai successfully capitalised on man-made havens when they created Palm Jumeirah but that wasn’t their only successful go at it. The World, rightfully named after its design, began construction in 2003 and slowly made its way up from there. The archipelago is meant to represent our World and looks similar to Earth from air-plane view. The World isn’t fully finished its construction but the majority is open for tours. The World is technically a grouping of private islands which can be bought at a hefty prices by private buyers, but boat and helicopter tours are available.
3. Jumeirah Golf Estates Jumeirah Golf Estates is a luxury sports club offering golf and tennis among other leisure activities. Located thirty minutes from central Dubai, the 131,00 sq/ft estate offers a once in a life time golf experience and is a well known host of popular golf stars such as European tour professional, Henrik Stenson, who is an avid attendee.
2. Bastakiya (Old Dubai) Now referred to as Old Dubai, Bastakiya offers a historic walk through of the early 19th century. The Bastakiya quarter was developed to allure wealthy Persian merchants to Dubai’s tax free land. It worked. Since 1890, Bastakiya claimed home to many who invested in the district’s Arabian architecture – a beauty to visit today. Many of these buildings include wind towers which created a pre-electric air conditioning system.
1. Dubai Miracle Garden Last but not least is the beautiful maze of colorful flowers, named Dubai Miracle Garden. Opening its doors Valentine’s Day of 2013, the Miracle Garden has gained a great reputation among locals and tourists averaging 55,000 visits per week. Dubai Miracle Garden is also home to the Guinness World Record’s largest flower structure. The structure was built in the shape of an Emirates A380 aircraft and completely made out of flowers and other plant material.
