I bought a tiny Totoro n chibi-Totoro, then decided to make a little ‘set’ for them, stuck them down with museum wax, and the next thing I knew I’d also made chu-Totoro (blue) and some soot sprites or Susuwatari, and I like how it turned out 💕

Weirdcore Critter - Possum Bus

This critter was inspired by a conversation I had with @fidenciothecryptidgent (⁠ ⁠╹⁠▽⁠╹⁠ ⁠)

The concept was a Weirdcore Possum that carries its babies like the catbus from My Neighbour Totoro! I made it rainbow because I could lol - they can scream really loud when startled in order to scare predators long enough to run away! They are good at killing pests, but may hunt larger creatures if there's more of them.

The older they are the longer they grow - and the more vibrant their coat will become too! If you look close, you can see how the babies have duller fur than the mother. They're similar to flamingos as they gain their pigment from their food. These creature in particular like to eat mushrooms which dye their cells and keratin a rainbow hue!
