SPOILERS IF U HAVEN'T WATCHED THE LATEST TUBBO STREAM AS OF TODAY (Feb 21, 24) JUST SO U KNOW !!!!!! I will summarize these massive paragraphs in the points at the very end in a sort of timeline order that I can think of for this so gonna start off this rant talking about how the timeline makes absolutely no sense at all
So there was some sort of ancient thing from "long long ago" or something and they went to get the remains of it because for whatever reason that was gonna help to bring q!Tubbo back
also Creation was built by Tubbo to protect the eggs(? or atleast thats what its doing rn) (mainly Sunny I assume but could've originally started building it for Chayanne and Tallulah) after it was built it was given instructions I guess on what to do in case of certain situations such as him being gone in any way etc etc
but if Tubbo erased his memory (we'll come back to how that doesn't make sense as of now, later) of building Creation, then he must have already been given Sunny by the federation in order for him to have been able to put her as rank 1 on the list (because of course, he erased his memory of Creation, so he couldn't have gone back and changed it later)
Creation had been originally built "long long ago" (during the time of said ancient thing from earlier, some sort of order or something? we don't really know (double parentheses, crazy I know, but keep in mind that order could also potentially mean like "given an order" as in something it was told to do previously)) so was Creation originally built for something else? and then his purpose was changed to protect the eggs after that? Well then that implies Tubbo knew Creation existed during his time on Quesadilla island up until sometime after he got Sunny (I've seen some people talk about time travel theories about what I just said but im not gonna get into that cuz its a whole lot, im just saying what we know and adding a tiny bit of theories into it)
He joined an Operation at some point also? Im assuming during the long ago ancient era or whatever but like bro these are too many words to remember
So "the old order" and "the operation" are most likely 2 separate things as Creation doesn't typically use multiple names for one thing
So he made Creation before he joined the operation as a "last effort to hold on" and he did all that "very very long ago before the island looked like what it [does] today"
last effort to hold on makes me think like, as in someones dying? like Creation is his last chance if he comes close to death (which based on what we've seen makes complete sense)
----------------------------------------------------------
anyways enough of confusing timeline stuff for now, time to get into whats going on with Tubbo specifically
Personally I though he might've been a robot, and I still believe that to be true despite information we've been given I feel its sort of a really badly kept secret on Creations part, it keeps sort of slipping up in its wording, forgetting saying things like "he will be shut off for good" is not the typical word use for humans(?) (things that are alive ig)
Because bro like you cant just drop "he was never alive to begin with" (he said talking to Phil) and like...... do anything else with that???? If something was never alive, it was never alive, like I dunno what else Tubbo could be without never have been alive?? It could've been an exaggeration or meant to be more like "he was never alive since the day you met him" instead of never alive at all
besides that, getting back to the "he erased his memory about specifically Creation existing" point not making sense, that is also why I think hes a robot still, cause how else would bro be able to just grab a specific memory from his brain and delete it??????
PLUS THE NEEDED DATA TO BRING HIM BACK HOW, WHO, WHERE, WHAT, WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU NEED DATA TO REVIVE SOMEONE WHO WASN'T A ROBOT??
even if hes not a robot bros got some like computer chip in his brain or something like........
also just gonna add in that on the original Creation stream (Niki's stream) he says something along the lines of protecting all the eggs except the one that isn't actually an egg or something Just wanna say that I think this is referring to Tubbo because yeah, he was always jokingly treated as an egg with cookies and everything and then towards the end he only had 2 lives just like them and Creation never protected him cause (A) he wasn't actually an egg and (B) Tubbo can't know he exists, so even if he wanted to protect him he couldn't either that or it was code flippa but whateverrrr :P
anyways thats the end of that for now until my brain goes crazy again
-----------------------------------------------
Tubbo made Creation before he joined "The Operation" (don't know what Creation was originally built for)
he did all that "very very long ago before the island looked like what it [does] today"
At some point he was frozen in the ice prison after this (we don't know for sure if he still has his memories of before this at this point, but most likely does for this to make sense (unless time travel maybe but we don't talk about that))
After meeting everyone and getting close with the eggs (specifically Chayanne and Tallulah) he starts changing the purpose of Creation to protect the eggs
Not long after this hes given Sunny by the Fed
He then completes Creations new purpose by putting in the ranking system (he would've had to have met Sunny before this or it doesn't make sense)
Then he deletes his memories (somehow lmao) of Creation
Creation is most likely shut down and hidden away somewhere, set to only activate if needed (dunno what these reasons he would've given Creation would be but one of them was definitely if he went missing/died or something)
#qsmp#qsmp creation#qsmp tubbo#qsmp theory#im actually insane#I spent like an hour writing this#tubbo#i dont know what other tags to put help#pls reblog with more tags if u know any LMAOO#q tubbo#anyways tubbo lore goes absolutely crazy#I can never tell if things he does is on purpose for lore or not#cause its so subtle#I love it for realsies like#this guyyy how goofy silly of him ahahahahhahaha#totally not making me cry in a matter of minutes with that recorded message at the start of the stream jeeeez

Mark: Hello everybody, my name is Markiplier and welcome to Five Nights at Freddy's, an indie horror game that you guys suggested, in mass, and I saw that Yamimash played it and said it was really really good... So I'm very eager to see what is up. And that is a terrifying animatronic bear! "Family pizzeria looking for security guard to work the nightshift." Oh...12 a.m. The first night. If I didn't wanna stay the first night, why would I stay any more than... five... Why I stay any more than two- hello? Okay...
Phone starts to call
Mark: Hello?... Hello? Oh, I can't move. That is a creepy skull, there's creepy things on the wall. Oh, hello.
Phone Guy: Hello?
Mark: Hi!
Phone Guy: Hello?
Mark: HI!!!
Phone Guy: Uh, I wanted to record a message for you to help you get settled in on your first night.
Mark: Ugh...
Phone Guy: Um, I actually worked in that office before you.
Mark: Ah...
Phone Guy: I'm finishing up my last week now, as a matter of fact.
Mark: Hm?
Phone Guy: So, I know it can be a bit overwhelming...
Mark: Uugh! U-hu-hu...
Phone Guy: ...but I'm here to tell you there's nothing to worry about.
Mark: Eh...
Phone Guy: Uh, you'll do fine. So, let's just focus on getting you through your first week.
Mark: Okay, sound goo- O...
Phone Guy: Okay? Uh, let's see, first there's an introductory greeting from the company that I'm supposed to read.
Mark: Uh-huh.
Phone Guy: Uh, it's kind of a legal thing, you know. Um, "Welcome to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza.
Mark: Okay.
Phone Guy: A magical place for kids and grown-ups alike...
Mark: (Scared laughing)
Phone Guy: where fantasy and fun come to life.
Mark: Uughuh!
Phone Guy: Fazbear Entertainment is not responsible for damage to property or person. Upon discovering that damage or death has occurred, a missing person report will be filed within 90 days, or as soon property and premises have been thoroughly cleaned and bleached, and the carpets have been replaced.
Mark: (Totaly in panic mode)
Phone Guy: Blah blah blah, now that might sound bad, I know...
Mark: Yeah!
Phone Guy: but there's really nothing to worry about. Uh, the animatronic characters here do get a bit quirky at night, but do I blame them? No.
Mark: (Scared laughing)
Phone Guy: If I were forced to sing those same stupid songs for twenty years and I never got a bath? I'd probably be a bit irritable at night too. So, remember, these characters hold a special place in the hearts of children and we need to show them a little respect, right?
Mark: Okay!
Phone Guy: Okay.
Mark: Okay...
Phone Guy: So, just be aware, the characters do tend to wander a bit.
Mark: No way...
Phone Guy: Uh, they're left in some kind of free roaming mode at night.
Mark: (Scared laughing)
Phone Guy: Uh...Something about their servos locking up if they get turned off for too long.
Mark: Ugh...
Phone Guy: Uh, they used to be allowed to walk around during the day too. But then there was The Bite of '87.
Mark: THE BITE?!
Phone Guy: Yeah.
Mark: What bite!?
Phone Guy: I-It's amazing that the human body can live without the frontal lobe, you know?
Mark: WHY?!
Phone Guy: Uh, now concerning your safety, the only real risk to you as a night watchman here, if any, is the fact that these characters, uh, if they happen to see you after hours probably won't recognize you as a person.
Mark: Oh, OH!
Phone Guy: They'll p-most likely see you as a metal endoskeleton without its costume on. Now since that's against the rules here at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, they'll probably try to... forcefully stuff you inside a Freddy Fazbear suit.
Mark: Oh, I get it.
Phone Guy: Um, now, that wouldn't be so bad if the suits themselves weren't filled with crossbeams, wires, and animatronic devices...
Mark: Uh-huh.
Phone Guy: ...especially around the facial area.
Mark: Uh-huh.
Phone Guy: So, you could imagine how having your head forcefully pressed inside one of those could cause a bit of discomfort...
Mark: Yeah!
Phone Guy: ...and death. Uh, the only parts of you that would likely see the light of day again would be your eyeballs and teeth when they pop out the front of the mask, heh.
Mark: Ugh! Oh, why... What happend?
Phone Guy: Y-Yeah, they don't tell you these things when you sign up. But hey, first day should be a breeze. I'll chat with you tomorrow. Uh, check those cameras, and remember to close the doors only if absolutely necessary.
Mark: THAT'S NOT GOOD...
Phone Guy: Gotta conserve power. Alright, good night.
Call ends
Mark: GOOD NIGHT?!
Mark: OH NO... OH THAT'S BAD! I understand what I need to do. I need to watch the cams so that they don't come after- ONE'S MISSING!!
Bonnie is in the Backstage
Mark: OH, HI! There you are, pretty bunny thing... Okay... Okay, okay, I get it, I get it, I get it, where'd you go? You're still there? Alright, you stay there. I don't know if it's good that you're staring at me! Oh my god. I thought it was weird that it couldn't move, but this is totally different... than any horror game I've ever played. So what you gotta do in case you not getting it is you gotta watch the cameras to make sure they don't come by- You got a little much power- Is he still there? Hi, you're still there. Wait a minute, what, DID YOU MOVE?! Okay, you didn't move. You don't move neither... You don't moving nothing... If I see you moving... I don't wanna see anything...Oh-oh-oh MY GOD! THIS'S TERRIFYING! Why do I leave doors so open, why isn't there enough power-
Bonnie is in the Dining Area
Mark: Hi, okay, you moved again. Hi. What are you doing there? Might be getting a little close to me...
Camera goes static
Mark: O-oh, oh, no, OH NO, NO, NOOO! No-no-no... Nooo, no, no, close the clo-ose, closing, closing! Eh. YOU'LL NEVER GET ME! Okay, you're over there, alright...It's okay. Why didn't I have enough power for lights? Stay right there you douchebag! You stay right the F there... God, dammit! That was like- this is like the most terrifying game I ever played! They're gonna pop out at me! Oh, god, he's gone. Hi. Okay. You just gonna alternate between the two places, it's totally fine. And your friends, they ain't moving. They're not moving, are they? I see where I am. You're not near me. So, that's good. Just gonna periodically check... How much long do I need- I need last to 6 a.m. Oh god, am I gonna have enough power? If I run out of power thy'll able to get me! Oh god... You stay right there! Why am I still using some power? O-oh god... Seriously, I what... this like... this like... bad! You're still there, okay. This is a first night, they said it should be easy to first night so I only assuming one of them... just gonna wandering around and it is a creepy bunny guy. âȘ{Happy fun time at Freddy's, in fun land... having such a wonderful time...}âȘ Okay, so, you still there? Okay, you still there... I'm gonna name you... Bunny Blallagy-
Camera goes static
Mark: OH GOD WHERE'D YOU GO?! Oh god, he's here? Hello? Where'd he go? Hi again, okay. You stay right the F there! I don't want to have to deal with you...
Mark closes both doors
Mark: Probably shouldn't do that, I need to conserve power. God dammit I was like have the damn thing in- I think the doors were down. You're still there? Oh-kay... Oh-kay. Oh-kay! (Scared laughing)
Music starts
Mark: I hear that... I HEAR THAT! OH GOD! WHERE'S THE OTHER ONE?! WHERE'S HE?! U-UGH! U-UGH! WHERE ISÂ HE?! Where'd you go? Where'd you go, where'd you go, where are both of them, both of th-
Bonnie is in the West Hall
Mark: H'i, you are really close to me! Oh god, it's not 6 a.m. yet?
Chica is in Restrooms
Mark: Hi. Okay. So I think I just need to keep the left door closed? (Crying) NOT OKAY NOT OKAY! Is he behind that door? No, where'd he go? Where-
Chica is in the East Hall
AH! OH HI HI HI HI HI HI OKAY OKAY, I DON'T HAVE MUCH POWER LEFT. What you gonna do? Is the other one still there? U-uh! HI... Oh, you moved again! Where where where? (Scared laughing) What do I do, what do I do-
Chica is in E. Hall Corner
Mark: OOOH YOU'RE RIGHT SO BEHIND THAT DOOR! OH, WHAT HAPPENS IF I OPEN THE DOOR?! I'm running out of power. Oh, I'm gonna run out of power! Is he there? I don't want- I don't- I do- I don't wanna die... AH, ONE PERCENT POWER?! (nervous grudging sound)
Power out, doors open
Mark: AH! ... Oh NO! OH NO, NO NO! NO NO NO NO NO NO NO! Oh no no no no no...no no...
Freddy flashes in left door
Mark: HIIII! OH, GAWD DAMMIT! HOW'RE YOU DOING?!
6 a.m. chimes
Mark: Oh, did I make it? I make it? Yeah-ha! Oh god not again! Why would I do this stupid job?! Oh-kay... Okay. So I ran out of power, but...
Phone starts to call
Mark: OH HI, HI AGAIN! You got to be some "sage advice" for me? Yep, okay, yep, I know, yep, yep yep yep, what I can do for you? I know! Oh god...
Phone Guy: Uhh, Hello? Hello? Uh, well, if you're hearing this and you made it to day two, uh, congrats!
Mark: (laughs in panic)
Phone Guy: I-I won't talk quite as long this time since Freddy and his friends tend to become more active as the week progresses.
Mark: What?
Phone Guy: Uhh, it might be a good idea to peek at those cameras while I talk just to make sure everyone's in their proper place.
Bonnie is in Dining Area
Mark: No.
Phone Guy: You know... Uh... Interestingly enough, Freddy himself doesn't come off stage very often. I heard he becomes a lot more active in the dark though, so, hey, I guess that's one more reason not to run out of power, right?
Mark: (laughs in panic)
Phone Guy: I-I also want to emphasize the importance of using your door lights. There are blind spots in your camera views, and those blind spots happen to be right outside of your doors. So if-if you canât find something, or someone, on your cameras...
Bonnie is in the West Hall
Mark: Ugh-h!
Phone Guy: ...be sure to check the door lights. Uh, you might only have a few seconds to react... Uh, not that you would be in any danger, of course. I'm not implying that.
Mark: Of course!
Phone Guy: Also, check on the curtain in Pirate Cove from time to time. The character in there seems unique in that he becomes more active if the cameras remain off for long periods of time. I guess he doesn't like being watched.
Bonnie is in W. Hall Corner
Mark: UGH-GH! UHH!
Phone Guy: I don't know. Anyway, I'm sure you have everything under control! Uh, talk to you soon.
Call ends
Mark: Where's Pirate Cove? Why are you going to leave me with this? Don't leave me like this!Where's, where's Big Yellow?
Chica is in Dining Area
Mark: There's Big Yellow. Is he still there? He's still there? YES YOU SILL THERE! VERY GOOD! VERY GOOD! Oooooh dooon't like th... Is he still there? I'm so going run out- Okay he left, okay. Okay! We're okay! We're going be fine, we're gonna be totally fine. We will be fine, hello. Hello, bubsy, where's the other guy? Where's the other guy? Where's he?! Where's he, where's he, where's he, where's he, where-
Bonnie is in the West Hall
Mark: Oh, there... Okay. He's not-
Freddy looks straight in the camera
Mark: Oh, HIII! HEY, FREDDY, HOW U DOING?! Okay. He will be nearby? You stay there! Where's the other one, where's the other one, where's the other one? There he is. Okay. I am pan- I'M LOSING MY SHIT RIGHT NOW! I'M NOT OKAY WITH THIS!
Camera goes static
Mark: OH GOD NOT AGAIN! NO DO DO DO THAT! No no no. Don't you be- Oh god!
Bonnie is in W. Hall Corner
Mark: AH! HE'S RIGHT OUTSIDE THE DOOR! UH! HI!
Chica is in East Hall
Mark: HI! Okay I'm- I'll keep my eye on you! Oh god, where'd you go? Where'd you go? Kay... GOD, THIS NIGHT IS LASTING FOREVER!
Bonnie pops in West Door
Mark: AH! ISTHATAFAGA! ISEWAMEMEGE! IT'S NOT OKAY! Oh oh oh... Okay, so what be-
Chica is in Dining Area
Mark: Hi... "Let's Eat!" Let's eat what? You still there? Okay, he's gone. Good. Stay gone, forever, and ever and ever and ever, oh, you're coming back! Either that or you're leaving. Oh, I'm not gonna have enough- I'm not h- My butt is going be munched! I'll be shoved into a teddy bear outfit. And they're gonna laugh! Where's he? Where'd you g-
Bonnie pops in West Door
Mark: AH! U-fe-fe-fe... That Bunny wants to get my gibblets, but he can't have em! Not today! Not ever... âȘ{Good thing Freddy staying in his house.}âȘ Hi mister- Wait, Bunny, you were just outside my door! Kay... Where's the Ducky? Where's mister- is that him- No, no Ducky there...
Chica is in Restrooms with hostile look in camera.
Mark: Hi, (Scared laughing), Hi mister Ducky. (Crying) God, this night is lasting so long... I just wanna go home. I'll never play this game again. I'll be a good boy! God dammit. It's would be terrifying if you controlled the cameras with like an Oculus Rift or something? Oh, my god. Cause you just move your head back and forth... Oh, my god. Hi again. Where's the other one? Where'd you go, where'd you go? Oh, there he is. Okay, so long as you two stay right there, you'll be good! You look very pretty! Uh, where's the Pirate Cove Guy- Oh, here's Pirate Cove, okay. So I just gotta... I just gotta keep an eye on you guys. Gonna be fine! OH, oh I bet using the camera takes power too, I'm down to 34%, I've got 3 hours to go!
Music starts
Mark: No. You're still there. You're still there. You're still there. You're looking at me now.
Foxy is in Pirate Cove
Mark: HI PIRATE COVE MAN!!! RARRR! HU-OHG... Oh, where'd they go, still there, still there? Pirate Cove Man! How u doin'? Oh, man, I love workin' at Didney Worl, it's ma faavorite...
Foxy enters his pre-sprint phase
Mark: HI WHAT ARE YOU DOING OUT OF YOUR CAGE?!! PLEASE, GET BACK IN! I DON'T WANT YOU OUT OF THERE! HE'S COMING FOR ME? Oh, he's coming for me! Oh, why do I have to watch three of them? I'm like ligit freaking out right now. I'm not okay with this. Oh god, they moved. Where'd you move to, oh, you're coming down the hallway, ha? Which one are ya? Not left Pirate Cove yet... You still there... Coming down that hallway... Pirate Cove Man, how're you doing Pirate Cove Man?
Camera goes static
Mark: No! I got 2 hours left! No no no! Nooo! What's that sound?
Bonnie is in W. Hall Corner
Mark: Oh, he's right there. Well, he's not here JUST yet. I don't wanna run out of power. Oh, the sounds, I don't like them.
Foxy sprints to office
Mark: AH, FUCK! NO! OH GOD!
Foxy attacks!
AH-HAH, FUCKING FUCK! I TRIED TO PUSH IT! OH-OH MY GOD! Ah... Oh...
Game Over
Mark: Oh, game over indeed! Oh, are those my eyeballs? Auh... (coughs) Oh hi... Okay. So that's Five Nights at Freddy's, I couldn't even survive two, GOD DAMMIT! HAH! OH, GOD! Stranger ||Â Bakugou x Reader ||Â { Anon Request }Â ||Â Stalking
TW: Cursing || Stalking || Threats of violence || Implied desire for Non-Con (not from Bakugou tho) Word Count: 5.5K
It started after the Sport Festival. Â
A DM that had been sent to your private social media account - a friend from your old school named Honoka. You hadnât spoken to her since starting UA - and the moment you saw the notification, you felt guilty that this was how she had to reach out to you. She had been so proud of you when you got accepted, she almost started crying, hugging you tightly and telling you as much. She asked you to keep in contact in High School. You had promised her you would.
You had been so busy, it was hard keeping promises.
Honoka: Hey! I saw you on the TV - you were amazing! I canât believe they wouldnât let you pass onto the finals. Good thing though - you would have gone against that asshole.
Honoka:Â Not that you couldnât have handled it!
It should have tipped you off that one of the quieter kids of school would have used such language, but it didnât. It had been a few months since starting high school and people have changed faster. You didnât think much about it aside from replying before your train pulled into the station. You might miss your stop and be late to school. Â
You were always punctual and refused to have something as stupid as that go against your record. Â
You waited until you were off the train, standing on the steps before sending a quick message.Â
Thanks! It was really terrifying. But I lost fair and square. Besides, I wasnât the only one who didnât make it to the finals. So I guess itâs okay. :)Â
You decided not to humor her comment about Bakugou. While it drew a hot, angry tie around your neck, part of you understood. Honoka wasnât alone in thinking he was...less than pleasant. It had been a point of contention, something that bothered you both that day and since. People were just wrong about him. She didnât know him like Class 1-A did. A few short clips from some televised sports festival didnât do him nearly the justice he was deserved.
You didnât have enough time to put your phone back in your jacket pocket when it buzzed again.Â
Honoka: Still.
Honoka: You were so strong. We all think they should have made an exception for you.
Honoka: We should meet up sometime. Gtg! Text me after school to set up a time!
You wanted to question it but you didnât. Â
You really should have questioned it. Â
King Explosion Murder was a perfectly good name.
Miss Midnight just doesnât understand art.
The conversation had been going on for a hour. It was the longest that you and Bakugou had texted. You had moved from a group text to your own private thread. He didnât text you like normal boys did - no pictures, no emojis, no stupid memes he had found. It was...conversation, one that hadnât been as hard to keep going as you thought. you tried to distract yourself with school work while he replied, but found it hard not to keep your attention on your screen as the text bubble flashed. Â
Bakugou: It was better than âDekuâ.
Well Deku was less violent
Bakugou:Â AND IT WAS STILL BETTER
Bakugou:Â THAN FUCKING DEKUâS
Honoka: You still up?
You stopped. Honoka? Why on earth was she texting you...oh shit. You groaned, rubbing your eyes and kicking yourself for forgetting to text her back like she had asked. You had been so wrapped up texting Bakugou since getting home that it just completely slipped your mind. Though, to be fair, most things slipped your mind around him.
You opened your chat with her, trying to figure out how to apologize without seeming like too much of an asshole.
Hey, yeah, sorry.
I started talking to one of my classmates and totally forgot. Â
My bad, dood.Â
Once again, she replied quickly.Â
Honoka: Who were you talking to?
There was a small part of you that wanted to ask her why it was her business, but you bit your tongue. She probably didnât mean anything by it and some residual bitterness from her comment this morning was probably lingering. You took a deep breath.Â
Bakugou. Â
We workshopped hero names today. His got shot down by our teacher. Â
It was so sad. đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
Honoka:Â Why are you talking to him?
It wasnât a question, not really. It was a statement. Like you talking to Bakugou was taboo, you could practically hear her grasping her pearls. You shouldnât have had to explain to her why you were talking anyone, let alone him, and it bothered you that she felt she was owed that right. That she even dare ask the question. Your brow furrowed as you sat up in bed. Â
What do you mean?
Honoka: Why are you talking to him? He seems like an dick
Honoka:Â And isnât good for you.Â
Honoka:Â You need to focus on being the best hero you can be.
Honoka:Â He seems like he would only drag you down.Â
Rage filled your stomach. Your hands were shaking as you tried to figure out what the fuck was going on. She had never acted this way before...right? She had always been so nice and meek and unassuming and...Â
You were confused, finding yourself chewing on your lip as you tried to make sense of what the hell you were seeing.
Heâs my friend. I really like him.
Look, heâs not as mean as he appears on TV. Heâs actually a really good guy. And heâs really smart and heâs going to be a better hero than even me some day.
So I would appreciate it if you didnât talk about him like that.
The chat bubble popped up. Then disappeared. Then popped up. And disappeared again.
Itâs funny - you had never felt so threatened by someone not answering. But as the bubble flashed for a final time, something told you that you had fucked up.Â
Honoka was always quiet, yes, but she was also amazingly sweet. She cried when you were little kids at the ending scene in All Dogâs Go to Heaven, always scrounged up change to donate to someone on the street looking for food, and volunteered every weekend to help with the younger students struggling in studies. She hadnât been born with a mean bone in her body. Â
But by the end of the week, you were certain the person messaging you wasnât the same Honoka you knew. She had changed - and not for the better. Not in the slightest. She was growing more insistent that you talk to her - every night. And if you didnât? Â
The calls were incessant. One after the other until you finally had to shut your ringer off. And the voicemails - she never spoke. Just let it sit for a moment before hanging up. And you were grateful for it - you didnât want to talk to her. Every chance she got, she showered you with praise and adoration while slinging hate at all your friends in 1-A. But no one got it like Bakugou did.
Honoka:Â Stop talking to him.
Itâs not any of your damn business who Iâm talking to.
Honoka:Â If you donât stop talking to him, Iâll tell him what a whore you were in Middle School.
The water of your bath was scalding, but that didnât stop you from shaking. Why was she doing this to you? Why was she so adamant about making your life miserable? This wasnât Honoka - not even in the slightest. Â
Iâm blocking you. Leave me alone.
Donât talk to me anymore.
No matter what, he was pure evil to Honoka. He was disgusting, arrogant, rude, a monster, a villain hiding in sheep's clothing and would do nothing but drag you down. He would hurt you, she said. Â
Honoka: Go ahead. Iâll just make other accounts.
She was as good as her word. At least that hadnât changed.
Your classmates were starting to take notice. After the first few accounts were blocked, she started using a calling app to randomly call you - only to hang up the moment you answered. Sometimes it was once a night, supplemented with texts about what a no good, lying whore you were. About how you were just some slut whoâs opening you legs for the first guy who gave you any attention.Â
Honoka:Â Fucking skank.
Honoka: Youâre so fucking worthless. Â
Honoka: You fucking him? Is that it? Is that why you want to defend him so bad?
Honoka:Â Heâs probably fucking every other girl in your class.
Other times, the calls were every hour on the hour. It had gotten so bad, that you started sleeping in later and later.
You raced through the empty halls, trying to will time to back up. You had slept in, missing your first train. When you got on the second one, you fell back asleep until the stop after yours. The only thing you could do was get off and just run to school as fast as you could. Class had started 20 minutes ago. This had never happened before - in your whole life. You were always meticulous about getting to class early.
You were a good student. A good person. You were. Â
âWell, look who decided to join us.â Mr. Aizawa didnât even bother to hide the annoyance in his voice. It made it all the more terrible
You wanted to cry. You felt the eyes of everyone in your class fall on you. It made your skin squirm, your stomach flip. You wanted to turn around and just...run home. To crawl into your bed and...Â
You bowed low, your head almost hitting the floor.  âIâm so sorry Iâm late, sir! It wonât happen again!â
âBe sure that it doesnât.â His glare hardened. âWeâll talk after class about your punishment.â
Punishment. Shit. You couldnât speak, resigning to solemnly nodding as you making the walk of shame to your seat, collapsing down. You had to take a minute, to steady your breath. To try and collect yourself. At least at school, you had an excuse not to answer her texts. To ignore her and pretend like she wasnât out there being fucking crazy. School was safe. School was free from it all.
Almost by habit, you turned and looked over at Bakugou. A small part of you was praying that he was looking at you. That his glare would ground you in a way only it knew how. But when your eyes met...the only thing you felt was misery. Â
You fucking him? Is that it? Â
Your heart raced, panic flooded your nerves, and all you wanted to do was run. Get away from everyone and just...just go to sleep. You just wanted to sleep. But Honoka wasnât allowing that. You couldnât stop thinking about half of the things she said while the other half had been resting heavily in your stomach, making you sick. She was stealing everything from you.
Youâre a fucking slut opening her legs for the first guy who gives you attention. And of course it had to be that fucking dog.
No...no you couldnât look at him for too long, afraid that he would know. Terrorized as you were, you couldnât run the risk of him finding out. Because...what if she messaged him first? What if she told him all of her lies and...what if he believed her?
No. No, that couldnât happen.
You pulled away from his stare, folding in on yourself. Just get out your books. Focus on class and get out your books. Your phone dinged and your blood ran cold. You dreaded even looking at it, but as you tugged out your notebook, the piece of plastic fell, resting against the back of your bag. It was as if some higher power was damning you to be always aware of the vitriol Honoka was spewing in your direction. The lock screen shone bright: 21 missed texts, 44 missed calls. But the most recent message sent horror down your spine.
Honoka: Naughty girl, sleeping in late for school. Â
You slipped out of the lunch room and made your way down the hall. You were going to put an end to this - once and for all. You didnât know what game Honoka was playing at, but whatever it was, you were fucking done. She was starting to seep into every facet of your life and it was ending now. Right then, in that hallway. Â
When you got a safe distance away from the double doors, to ensure no one could hear you when you started screaming, you searched through your contacts for her number. When you finally found it however...
God, just looking at her name made you sick. The fact her contact picture was of you and her, eating ice cream at a beach, grinning and giving the camera a peace sign, posing as only 12 year old girls knew how, it drove a knife into your chest, twisting it even deeper the longer you stared at it. She was making your life a living hell. It wasnât right, it didnât make any fucking sense. Why was she doing this to you? Did you do something to her? Were you cruel in your last interaction? Did you make a joke that went so poorly that she decided the only way to get back at you was to ruin your entire life? To push you so close to the edge that...
She going out of her way to make your life a living hell and for what? Â
Well, no better time like the present to find out.
Your thumb slammed down on the dial button. Each ring was like nails on chalk board.
Her voice was even worse.
She said your name so surprised, before crying it out in joy.  âOh my god, itâs been so long!â
Well...that...wasnât...true?
âWhat the fuck is wrong with you?â
Honoka went silent on the other end of the phone.  âUh...are you okay?â
âYouâve been harassing me since the festival and youâre just going to act like-â
âWait...what?â
âThe thousands of texts!? The millions of calls!?â
She didnât answer. You couldnât help the grin that spread over your face. You fucking got her. You caught her in her bullshit lie and she didnât have anything to say for it. You hated to admit it, but part of you was excited to hear how she was going to explain it way. How she was going to break down and finally you could tell her off and it was going to stop and you could get a good nightâs sleep and maybe your mom could make your favorite curry and you would be able to eat it and not throw it up later and -
âI havenât been texting you.â
Well...you couldnât have said you were expecting that. You stopped, staring at your feet.  âI...what?â
âI...havenât been calling you. Or texting you.â She said, her voice - that ever familiar voice - filled with worry.
...of course she would be worried. She was always so fucking nice.Â
âYes you have!!â You shouted, gritting your teeth.
She said your name, so softly and so calmly, âNo. I havenât. I promise you, I havenât. Are you okay? Is everything alright?â
The phone vibrated in your fingers and the screen lit up once more. Another unknown number was calling you. You didnât hesitate and for the first time since this all began you answered the her-him-they-it.Â
âWhat!?â You screamed, pressing the phone to your ear. You strained to hear, to try and find out who was doing this to you. âWhat do you want!? Why are you doing this to me!? Leave me alone!!!â
...click!
The dial tone felt like a death sentence.
The hallway shrunk and expanded, growing larger and darker - like the mouth of the beast, it was going to swallow you whole. You pressed your phone to your forehead, slumped to the floor and realized...you were crying. No, not just crying. You were sobbing, each one wracking your body and shaking your bones. Shit...shit, shit, shit. You just wanted to go back to the way things were. You wanted it to stop, wanted whoever was doing this to leave you alone and -Â
Your phone buzzed again. Another message. Â
Another sob rocked your body, but you found the strength to turn it back into view.
UNKNOWN NUMBER ::Â [ MULTIMEDIA MESSAGE ]
Your fingers trembled so hard you almost dropped the phone. You didnât want to look at whatever it was. Whoever was doing to you was fucking sick, was deranged and psychotic and out of their mind and...you had to do something about it. Maybe you could tell a teacher? But what could they do about it? Up security? Just for you? No, it was entirely out of the question. You couldnât go to the police - since who ever this was hadnât physically done anything to harm you. Â
You were on your own.
You opened the message.
It was your house. The sun was setting. Then another. This one was early in the morning. Then another. And another. Another another another another another another another another another different angles, different times of day...but all focused on one spot.Â
Your bedroom. Sometimes it was empty, but other times you were in shot. Sometimes working on homework, sometimes sitting with your cat on the window sill, other times pulling your shirt above your head, reaching behind your back for your bra and...
UNKOWN NUMBER :Â Stop ignoring me.
Your phone clattered to the floor as you gripped your hair, trying to steady your breathing. In two three fours, Out two three fours. In two three fours, Out two three-
âHey.â
The scream was involuntary, as was backing against the lockers so hard that you slammed your head against them. Bakugou recoiled, staring at you, his eyes wide with surprise. It didnât last long, quickly overtaken by gritted teeth and snarls.  âThe hell is your-â
He must have noticed the tears, the absolute panic on your face. The silence fell over the two of you, the echo of your scream now long gone. You wished you were. You couldnât look at him, couldnât face the shame of what was happening. How could you explain it.Â
âYou alright?â Â
You pulled your legs up to you chest, hugging them tightly.  âNo,â You replied.
Bakugou was never one for consolations. So you were almost surprised when all he made his way over to where you were sitting and sat down beside you. You flinched, only a little, but it didnât seem to bother him none. He shoved his hands in his pockets, but didnât say a word, his bright red eyes focused out the window across from you. You...were grateful. For the first time in almost two weeks, you didnât feel entirely vulnerable. Like everything was crumbling down around you. And in this small moment of peace, you felt horribly exhausted. Your mind ached, your body was sore, your eyes were so red and...and...
You rested against his shoulder and he didnât make a move to stop you.  It was like Bakugou was putting himself between you and...whoever was stalking you. Â
Stalking you. You had a stalker. Â
You sniffled, wiping the tears from your eyes. âIâm sorry.â You offered.
âFor what?â He barked.
âFor crying.â
He didnât answer for a moment, âTch. Yeah, well...maybe suck it the hell up. Whatever it is, itâs not a big deal.â
Not a big...you turned to look at him, eyes narrowing. âNot a big deal...?â Â
He looked at you, a bored and disgruntled expression on his face. âYeah.â
âItâs kind of a big fucking deal.â
âOh yeah? Well then what the hell is it?â
âWhoa, itâs that kid who just won the Sports Festival!â
âOh, wow! Heâs so much scarier in person!â
âDo you think he would be mad if I asked for an autograph?â
âYeah! Look at his mug - heâs obviously pissed off about something!â
Bakugou had stayed late, even through your detention, to walk you home. It was nearly dark now as you walked side by side down your street. The sun was struggling to peak over the row of houses and a purple ink had settled over the top of the sky. Â
It was taking everything in you not to apologize...again. He didnât need to be dragged into your mess. But...shit, it wasnât like you werenât ecstatic that he offered to walk you home back in the hallway. He was a terrifying presence, unstoppable. As he stalked down the road towards your house, a scowl on his face as his eyes peered around every corner, it hit you that you felt safer now than you had the past few weeks. Â
âHey.â You picked up the pace, making sure to stay close. âThank you again. I just-â
âUgh, stop thanking me!â He glared at you.
âIâm just-â You sighed and gripped your bag straps.  âI...I donât see the point of you walking me home. Not...that I donât appreciate it, I just...wonât that make him mad?â
Bakugou scoffed. âThatâs the point, you idiot.â
Sometimes, you thought you almost understood him. But then he blew up Rome and screamed at you to start over tomorrow morning. You stared at him in confusion though ultimately decided you didnât have the energy to argue. You were just...thankful that he was here.
âThis is me.â Your house was a small thing, nestled on the corner and surrounded by a garden that was meticulously maintained by your mom while you were at school and your father was at work. Sometimes the pictures had her in the shot, busy at work.  Your lips thinned as you stared up at the second story window, Your white curtains lay still and your cat stared down at you, like she knew something was wrong. Like she knew...that things were amiss.Â
Well...Bakugou came all this way and the guy didnât have the guts to show himself. As you had figured, you had completely wasted his time. It wasnât like he was going to move in just to be your watchful protector. You didnât want to think that maybe he was just patiently waiting until you were alone but...
âDo you want to come in for something to drink. Itâs the least I could...â Â
Bakugou wasnât looking at you. His attention was focused entirely over your shoulder. You blinked, taken aback by the cold, dead glare on his face. The way his eyes seemed to burn with...rage? Unbridled anger? Nothing seemed to do whatever it was justice.  âYouâve been following us since the train station!â He yelled out.  âWhy donât you stop being a fucking coward and come out of hiding!!â
âŠsomeone...had been following you?
You could see the reflection of someone in his eyes. With a shaking breath, you turned to look at who he was talking to.
You werenât sure what you expected. But throughout the day, you had come up with an image in your mind of what your stalker had looked like. He would be the perfect embodiment of the horror you had suffered though, that was for certain. A Cheshire grin, wild unkempt hair, vacant, glossy eyes, maybe a knife or something - anything to solidify himself as the monster who had been making your life miserable. But...he wasnât. As you got a good look at him, you realized that he looked relatively...normal. And for some reason, that thought alone made you sick. Â
He was about your age - maybe a bit older - in a school uniform you didnât recognize. His hair was dark, pulled back and pushed behind his ears. His chin was dusted with facial hair and his eyes were darting between you and Bakugou. He had been standing by the cross walk and tried to pretend to be shocked that Bakugou was even addressing him.Â
âExcuse me?â
âDonât pull that bull with me.â Bakugou stepped around you, making his way towards him. âI saw you get off the train with us. You made every turn we did. Always stayed one step behind where you thought we couldnât see you.â
The kid only got a word out before Bakugou gripped him by his shirt and slammed him up against the wall of the neighboring house.  âPlease!â The kid yelled.  âI donât know what youâre talking about!â
âBakugou!â Your legs finally remembered they could move. You bolted over to where he was standing, looking between the two of them.  âBakugou maybe it isnât him! Maybe he-â
âShow us your phone then if you donât have anything to hide!â He lifted him up and slammed him back against the bricks.
âI donât have to show you anything, you fucking lunatic!â
You donât think you had ever seen him on this street. You donât think you had seen him ever but-
âHEY!â The boy tried to stop Bakugou from reaching into his pocket. But it was no use.
You caught it was ease, âTry the day of the sports festival for the password.â Was all he said.
This was fucking insane. What if this kid wasnât the stalker? What if he was just some random guy who was meeting a friend. You looked back and forth between the two of them - Bakugou, hair wild and death in his eyes, and this guy who looked down at him with fear and...
...oh...
You swiped up, entering the date as instructed.
It unlocked.
And you were met with a pretty lain layout. Some photo editing apps, Youtube, a few games, and...
Texting and Calling apps. Your blood ran cold as you opened the first one up. Texts apon texts, all to the same unlisted number. Your unlisted number. You went to the photo gallery and there they were. The pictures of your house. Some of them were zoomed in and cropped to only show you. You wanted to be sick. You wanted to-
âI can explain!â Â
âWhat the fuck,â You breathed, scrolling through the pictures. Not just of your house, but of you - walking home from school, of hanging out with your friends, of you shopping. And thatâs when you saw the edited versions.
Fuck. Oh Shit Fuck.Â
âI was only trying to help you!!â He cried, scratching at Bakugouâs wrist, making his skin bleed.  âI only want whatâs best for us!â
âI think Iâm going to be sick.â You covered your mouth, trying to think of what to do next. Should you call the police? Your parents!? What do you do now?
His eyes fell on Bakugou, practically snarling.  âI knew he would do something like this!! I knew he would try to make me look like some psycho, but Iâm not.  I know how he would treat you! Heâs a rabid fucking dog, a mongrel! I couldnât let him treat you the same way! I couldnât! Iâm just trying to protect you! But you wouldnât fucking listen!! So I thought if maybe you and I could talk you would understand! You would see what Iâm-â
âARGH!â
Your body tensed as the smell of burnt stone and ash filled the air. You looked up and half expected his head to be blown clean off. But it was still attached, only now he looked terrified as he stared down at Bakugou. You followed his gaze, saw the look of pure, unadulterated rage. His hand had connected to the wall beside the manâs head, smoke dancing up and around them. And he was shaking. Oh, god, how hard Bakugou was shaking.
He spoke low, deep in his chest.  âListen close, you freak. Youâre going to leave her alone from this point forward - you got that? If I find out youâre even thinking about her, Iâll kill you myself!!â
The world fell silent. No one said a word until. Your stalker was crying now, shaking as he nodded, quickly, mumbling apology after apology. You couldnât find the words to say, but your heart. God, your heart was beating so hard in your chest as you stared at Bakugou. He...he was...
Oh.
The window in the house behind you slid open. An older man leaned out the window, his wife nervously peering over his shoulder. The looked to the source of the commotion before standing up straight, fumbling as the smoke continued to rise from the spot Bakugou...well...destroyed. âHey!! If you donât get off my property, Iâm calling the cops!â
...the police. Â
...
The police.
Oh god, you had his phone. You could prove he had been stalking you!!! You perked up, smiling for the first time in weeks, âYes! Yes, please, call the police!â
The man stared at you, confusion on his face. â....what?â
The weight of the situation only grew heavier when the police searched the contents of the guyâs backpack.Â
Rope. A knife. Some cloth. A box of condoms. And a jar of a clear, sickly sweet smelling liquid. You heard one of the officers say what it was, though you were sure you werenât supposed to hear. But you did, and so did your parents. Your mom nearly broke down for the third time that evening as your father swore under his breath. Â
Homemade chloroform.
His name was Eito Moto - a second year at another High School near your home. You would find out later that the stalking had started long before the Sports Festival - ever since he started working at the coffee shop you and your mom would go to every Sunday for breakfast. Your neighbors, the ones who actually called the police, had seen him hanging around sometimes but didnât think much off it. Â
They thought he had just been a fan. Â
They decided not to press charges against Bakugou for putting a hole in their fence.  âGiven the circumstances,â The man said, âI think I would have done the same thing.â
You had to go to the police station to file a report and request a restraining order. It took well into the morning hours, where you mainly spent your time talking to different police officers, retelling the same story, going over evidence, assuring them you didnât know this guy so you had no clue why he thought you two had been dating for months. Â
They sent Bakugou home, your parents offering him their thanks and promises they would find a better, proper way to think him for essentially saving your life. Â
By the time you fell into a crumpled heap on your bed, it was 2 in the morning. It had been so long since you felt...okay. Your stalker was in police custody for now, you could at least rest easy tonight. You gripped your pillows, tugging them up and over your head to block out what meager light filtered in through the hallway. No more late night calls. No more insistent texts telling you what a no good whore you were. You were okay. Â
Everything was going to be okay.Â
Bzzzz.
...oh no. Oh no. Oh no.
You peeked out from under your pillow, trying to calm your racing heart. It couldnât be him, you thought. He was in jail, so they wouldnât let him call you - right? They wouldnât let him do that, even if they did give him one call. With shaking fingers, you reached out and plucked your phone from your end table.
Bakugou is calling!
Oh....oh thank god.
You couldnât press accept fast enough. You sighed, resting back against your pillows.  âHey.â
âIs that bastard in jail?â
A laugh, a good honest laugh.  âYeah. Yeah, heâs in jail. Dad and mom are gonna to talk to a lawyer tomorrow about our options.â
âDid you get a restraining order?â
You nodded.  âYeah. Thatâs what took so long and why we have to go to court. They gave me an emergency one so...â You blew out a puff of air, watching as a lock of your hair jumped up and fell back into place. âAt least thereâs that.â
âYou should have talked to me about this sooner.â It was softer than you anticipated, less of a bite than he normally had.
You knew you should have. You should have told someone but...it felt so...pointless? Like it wouldnât have mattered. But, you had to give credit where credit was due.  âI wish I would have.â
He didnât respond. You had expected he would have started yelling at you, about hiding it from everyone. Chastised you for being so stupid and letting it go on for as long as it had. But no, he stayed quiet. You could imagine him laying in bed, staring up at his ceiling, and wondered what he was thinking about. What he wanted to say. Â
You rolled over onto your side. âHey, Bakugou?â
âWhat.â
âThank you.â
There was a long pause before he let out a soft noise.
âDonât be stupid. I was only doing what I had to do.â
Stalkers are fucking scary, yah know. I had to listen to some voicemails left by stalkers to get the vibe down right - and I still donât think Eito sounded perfect but hey. At least one blessing in that: Iâve never been stalked. Â

dad!Luke & going on tour
warnings: none really except my thoughts being literally all over the place
a/n: I have absolutely zero idea where this came from I just really love this idea and had to get it out there :â) Also, like I said this is really everywhere so if it doesnât make any sense itâs cause I wrote down whatever I was thinking and fair warning it isnât terribly cohesive
-dad!Luke will just break down when Sunset Curve goes on tour cause he has to leave you guys for a while -yeah heâs excited and looking forward to it but if it was up to him heâd take you both along with him -realistically he knows youâll be just fine since youâll have your parents and his to help you with whatever you need but still, heâd prefer it if you both just came along with them for more reasons than one -your parents were all a little shocked when they found out you were pregnant and sure, all of them are supportive of you guys, but thereâs a reason you didnât choose to stay with any of them -you, Luke, your little girl, and the boys all share an apartment and itâs a little crowded but none of you seem to mind since itâs filled with so much love -so when they leave on tour you all realize that for the very first time youâre gonna be alone with your ten month old child -and yeah, Luke definitely takes it harder than everyone else for obvious reasons -heâs crying and wonât let you guys go at all and every time you think heâs okay he breaks down again -you just smile and laugh a bit at the fact that youâre the one comforting him and you promise youâll both go see him as soon as they get the hang of their touring schedule -his goodbye literally lasts the entire time everyone else is finishing packing up the bus -and even then the boys have to force him away, though they arenât in much better shape than him, and when they pull away heâs still waving from the window
-Luke totally picks up gifts for you and his little one in every single place they stop -he will also most definitely invest in a video camera to be able to record messages before and after every show and while theyâre sitting on the bus while on the road -the rest of the boys always pop in when heâs recording and more often than not will stay there with him, even if sometimes its just to keep him company cause they know that some days its harder being away from you guys than others -he also uses this time to write a song, one dedicated to the two of you -sure heâs written a couple about you and his favorite pastime while you were pregnant was strumming absentmindedly on his guitar until he came up with a cute little lullaby just for your baby -but this one is special -itâs for his family who he absolutely adores and misses more than anything -and you know Alex, Reggie, and Bobby help him with it cause theyâve gotten so used to you guys always being there and they miss you too -youâre all family after all
-Luke will also absolutely plan his entire schedule around when he knows youâll be free so he can call you -like this boy will walk out of interviews, asking them to give him a second cause he knows itâs lunch time and odds are his precious little angel is going to be awake alongside you -âLuke arenât you supposed to be busy?â You know the answer already of course but you ask anyway âYeah but I needed to hear your voice.â -and how are you supposed to say no? Even if it's just a few minutes youâll promise to talk later and literally as soon as heâs free heâs calling you again -your calls always last at least an hour cause not even a few minutes in thereâs shouts from behind him âHang on is that Y/N?â âStop hogging the phone, we want to talk to her too!â âHey give me back -â âY/N hi! Itâs me, your favorite!â -you happily talk to all of them for as long as they need to cause you know it helps them relax a bit -thereâs also long moments of silence on your end when they insist on talking to their princess because âyeah sheâs technically your daughter but weâve all been there from the beginning so I think we can excuse the ourâ and you donât have the heart to tell them sheâs asleep âOh sheâs here donât worry just a little shy.â -But when sheâs awake she recognizes their voices right away and when she babbles theyâre all in complete awe and shouting over each other again -âAre - are you guys crying?â âMaybe.â âNo.â âYes! We miss you guys!â
-When you finally join them Luke rarely leaves your side, if heâs not rehearsing or performing heâs with the two of you -sometimes the three of you go sightseeing, sometimes he lets you sleep while he watches your daughter and heâs constantly singing to her and muttering âI missed you so much my angelâ and he swears her little laugh is the best sound in the world -and sometimes youâre just more than happy to sit in whatever hotel you happen to be staying at with each other -Honestly you arenât expecting Reggie, Bobby, and Alex to be too into hanging out with the three of you cause theyâre touring the country after all and thereâs a lot to see and do but to your surprise they really do like just hanging out with you guys -theyâll even offer to babysit so you and Luke can go do something alone -needless to say you always have this constant bubble of complete love and support surrounding you -you know that no matter what, no matter how far they might happen to be, youâll always have your family -all five of them

the fuck is a touron?
warnings: language, smut (wrap it youâre smart), 18+
count: 7k+
hehehehehe ;)
part two!
gif cred
â â â
âi was one hundred percent trying to teach him a lesson, but heâs too stupid to realize that youâre not supposed to lend one of my t-shirts to a random girl. god, heâs so dumb.â liza shook her head in frustration, her thumb absentmindedly scrolling along her phone screen.
âdidnât you guys used to be friends?â you asked, picturing the girl in mind. you couldâve sworn youâd seen liza with her at some point.
liza made a noise and bit her lip. âmaybe heâs just trying to get back at me for something. i canât think of anything i did though.â
âmaybe theyâre just messing with you. you know, because you did sleep with both of them.â liza made another dismissing noise. you took a sip from a glass she had given you from her kitchen. it was just beyond the doors behind you from where you sat on her massive deck.
you had taken it upon yourself to visit your friend before the last few weeks of summer ended. youâd see her back at school anyways, but she had asked you several times to make the trip out to see her. youâd been enjoying the ocean breeze and the hospitality of liza and her dad. it had only been a few days since you arrived; you hardly thought about leaving.
so far you had been biking around with liza through small sections of her neighborhood. she pointed out a few of her favorite spots, mostly trying to pass the days with you here, but also to make you feel welcome. she had taken you shopping off the island today, which resulted in a thousand more steps recorded on your phone and a new bathing suit to wear. you had also found a little lighthouse souvenir figure that you planned to put somewhere in your room once you got back home. you had dinner at a restaurant that liza said was one of her favorites, then you took the ferry back at sunset and now here you were, sharing a whole box of wine.
you snuggled further into your sweatshirt and pulled a pillow onto your lap. you stared out at the ocean in lizaâs backyard and imagined how insane it was that she lived right on the beach. a small fire sat in front of you, warming your legs. liza put her phone down and took a large sip of her wine.
âanyone cute here? think iâd be into some east coast beach boy.â you mentioned, squinting your eyes playfully as you looked over at her.
she shrugged with her head on the back of the couch. âi mean thereâs a few i went to school with, but you donât want to mess with them.â
âhow come?â
âtheyâre practically heartless. theyâd totally leave you in the dirt.â she said. âwell, sand.â
you snorted. âare you speaking from experience? because if so, iâm more than willing to get into a fight in your honor.â
âshut up.â she laughed. âyou donât want anyone from here, trust me.â
âno, trust me when i tell you that i do. i havenât gotten laid in months and iâm crawling out of my skin.â you admitted as much as you didnât want to. it had been a simple thought before getting on the plane to visit and you didnât think youâd bring it up, but you couldnât stop thinking about it. even while shopping you were mostly on the prowl. they shouldâve had a store to buy a one-night stand. you were on vacation, you deserved to indulge.
âi have so much pent-up frustration. i need someone to sex me right now.â you continued, drinking the rest of the wine just to add to your tipsy rambling.
âjesus.â liza stared at you.
âi donât want to tell you this but i was literally fantasizing about your dad earlier.â
âew!â
âiâm sorry!â you laughed. âi mean, heâs single so itâs fair game.â
âabsolutely not!â she looked at you like you were crazy, and you couldnât stop laughing as she got up to get more wine, taking your glass too.
back home, there wasnât anybody you wanted to sleep with. you didnât really make any friends in high school that you kept into college and it was hard when most of your friends lived in different states. sure, there were apps for hookups and for you to meet new people around you, but you had a thing about technology tracking that made your skin crawl.
liza came back less disgusted with you, handing you your glass. you sipped on it and stared at the fire, not feeling tired in the slightest from how much you walked. beside you, liza picked up her phone again and scrolled, tapped.
âi donât know why iâm doing this, but there is someone i might be able to set you up with.â she said minutes later.
you perked up with optimism and shifted on the couch. âmhm, give me more.â
âhis nameâs topper.â she said, her phone illuminating her face with a white light.
âyouâre kidding.â you deadpanned, your eyebrows furrowing. you figured she was joking, slipping in a harmless pun.
âiâm not.â she bit her lips together, glancing at you to gauge your reaction.
âwhat kind of name is that?â
âcould not tell you, but heâs super chill and iâm pretty sure heâs newly single.â she said, tapping a few times on her phoneâs screen. âhe was dating someone from his college for months, but i think they broke up since he doesnât post pictures with her anymore.â
âi just want to fuck him. what does he look like?â
liza tapped a few more times before shining her phone at you. you squinted from the brightness before your eyes adjusted, took in the photo she was showing you. he was in front of a sunset and you could faintly pick out the dirty blonde locks. liza picked a different one that gave you a better view of him.
you let out a delighted hum, smiling slightly. âhe looks like an asshole, but fun.â
âi have his number,â she said, turning the phone back to herself. you leaned your side into the couch, readjusting to keep the warmth. the fire cracked as one of the logs shifted.
âtext him.â you prompted liza and scooted closer to her to watch her type on her phone. she found his contact and moved her thumbs along the screen.
hey so weird question but would u be interested in hooking up w/ my friend?
the friend in question is not me i swear
âsmooth,â you said as she sent the texts.
âi canât believe iâm helping you with this.â she locked her phone and dropped it into her lap. you shrugged and sipped from the glass, staring into the fire.
you slipped into a regular conversation with liza while she waited for a text. you werenât giddy for a reply or asking her to check every ten seconds. it didnât really matter that much to you if you didnât hookup with anyone or not, you just thought youâd put it out there.
liza had you cracking up, bent over the couch and nearly falling to the floor when her father came outside onto the porch. you settled as you looked up at him, listening to him ask you both if you were doing okay and needed anything. liza was quick to shut his offer down when you gave her a look, jokingly wiggling your eyebrows at her. her dad noticed, looking between you two as you belted out laughing again, this time landing on the wooden deck. liza tried to keep her laughter in, telling her dad that you were fine and that you both were just a little drunk. he nodded and left you two alone.
âgod, you suck.â she said once he was out of earshot.
you were now crying from laughter as you sat up. you wiped your eyes and climbed up onto the sofa, taking your glass from the floor. âiâm glad you invited me,â you giggled as you pulled the pillow back onto your lap. you both continued to shake with the aftershock of amusement.
âhe texted me.â liza said suddenly as her phone was back in her hands.
âand?â you asked, leaning your side against the cushions. you propped your elbow on top of them and held your head against your hand.
âall he said was âpicâ.â
âsend him one.â
âokay.â she said and turned toward you, opening her camera on her phone.
âshould i pose? how does my hair look?â you asked, brushing the back of it just in case it had gotten messy from falling to the floor.
âdo something before i send a blurry one.â liza commanded.
you put your hand back against the side of your face and smiled lightly. liza took the photo without the flash, the fire bright enough. she set her phone down again and hit send as you watched her thumb. you watched her screen for a second then looked away, tilting the glass against your lips.
âhe said âgive her my numberâ.â
âfuck yes.â you said. you reached behind you for your phone, feeling around for a couple seconds before finding it. âokay, what is it?â
liza read his number aloud as you typed it in. you opened your camera and took a selfie, holding the wine glass to your lips and crossing your eyes. you typed, hiii, and hit send.
after having not touched your phone in the past few hours, you moved out of the conversation with him and replied back to a few of your friends. it wasnât long before he texted back. you opened the message to find a photo sent back to you, tapping on it with an intrigued smile. he took his own selfie, balancing a beer bottle on his head with his own fire lighting up his face in an orange glow. you saw someoneâs back behind him, your eyes trailing down to the drawstrings against his chest at the bottom of the photo.
impressive, you sent.
whatâs your name?
y/n! what kind of name is topper?
rich people
thought so, you joked. are you sporting salmon shorts and sperryâs with that sweatshirt?
liza was in her own world as you texted topper. you glanced at her, finding her glass propped on her chest so she could slowly sip it. she was texting like a speed racer.
you looked back down at topperâs new message and laughed.
gray sweats and sandals
socks?
no
thank god
you watched the bubbles pop up almost immediately. they disappeared with no message then came back.
liza said u wanted to hook up?
you werenât sure what to say back. your thumbs floated above your screen for several seconds before you decided just to be honest with him. whatâs the worst that could happen?
long story short iâm needy & havenât been laid in a while
you down?
sure whenâs good for you?
âiâm going to get some ice cream.â liza said as she moved off the couch, throwing her phone down on the cushions. âyou want any?â
âsure.â you said before typing.
think weâre going to the beach tomorrow so how about sometime in the afternoon? iâll text you
sounds good, looking forward to it
âoh my god.â you said loudly, dropping your phone.
âwhat?â liza called from the open door. you could hear her clinking around the kitchen.
âhe just sent an eggplant emoji.â
suddenly the clinking of dishes was drowned out as she laughed louder than before. you covered your face and laughed too.
â
the next morning you woke up already feeling too warm. you winced as you felt the heat radiating through your body and you peeled your eyes open. you were still on the couch outside and the sun was happily beating down on the deck. you moaned and pulled a pillow over your head. you remembered that you had finished the boxed wine with liza last night along with ice cream and decided to just sleep outside. with the alcohol and walking, your legs were not prepared to function that late at night.
you lay there for a few minutes until lizaâs foot appeared and knocked right into your nose. you flinched and held it as it throbbed, sitting up to throw the pillow at her.
she jerked awake and grimaced at you and the sun. âwhat?â
âyou just kicked me.â you said nasally. you sniffed and checked your nose as it continued to pulse. liza yawned, stretching and sitting up to look around like she forgot where she was.
âtodayâs going to be a good beach day if itâs this fucking hot.â she grumbled. her hair was wild atop her head, sticking out in every direction. she looked over at you as she yawned again. âbreakfast and then beach?â
you nodded, your hand back in your lap as the throbbing subsided. you picked up your dirty dishes and phone and followed liza inside to eat. her dad was already cooking when you two came inside and your mouth watered at the sight of food on the counter. he provided a whole display of drinks, fruit, bread, and eggs that had you contemplating about never leaving.
liza told her dad of your plans for the day while you ate. you kept quiet as you cleared your plate, normally taking at least an hour to fully wake up in the morning. liza seemed almost too chipper in the mornings from what you witnessed. once you finished up and put your plate in the sink at lizaâs dadâs request, you went to her room to fish out your new bathing suit. you changed in the bathroom and brushed your teeth along with the rest of your morning routine. you pulled on a t-shirt and shorts over your suit and tied your hair up just as liza knocked to see if you were done.
thirty minutes later, you were on your way to the beach. you held lizaâs tote bag in your lap, full of snacks, waters, a speaker to connect to her phone, and towels. you were anticipating the beach, wanting to just run into the water and swim all day.
which is what you did for the next few hours. you munched on some pretzels, drank a ton of water that you had to pee several times, listened to music, and laid out in the sun. you soaked up more sunscreen than you could imagine, reapplying at least ten times. the water felt good whenever you swam to the sandbar with liza and back to the shore.
liza was on her stomach now, her hair still damp. she closed her eyes against the sun while you sat beside her and people-watched.
âwhen are you going to text topper?â she mumbled against her arm.
you watched an elderly couple read their respective books while sitting beside each other in folding chairs. they sat under a green umbrella, the one reading a james patterson novel with their toes poking out of the sand and the other reading a paperback of some sort with the cover twisted back and wearing a large sun hat.
âi guess i could text him now.â you said, hearing her question.
âiâll probably head out whenever he gets here. let you two be alone.â she drawled.
you shoved at her shoulder and reached for your phone. you found topperâs conversation and typed quickly to tell him which beach you were at.
you want me to head over there?
you werenât expecting him to text right away, but you replied back just as quickly.
yes
you put your phone back down under your shirt and lay on your stomach so you could keep an eye out for him. you looked at where the parking lot was, a large area of gravel and tall grass. people were pouring in and out of the beach, little kids in thick foam flip flops kicking up sand while older adults with mass amounts of luggage followed after them.
liza sat up, looking in the same direction and drinking from her water bottle. you flipped over onto your back and closed your eyes, listening to the crunch of sand, the distant chatter, the hush of waves.
âthatâs him.â liza said beside you. you couldnât tell how long it had been. you leaned up onto your elbows and looked behind you, seeing topper walking down the small crest in a white t-shirt and bathing suit bottoms.
âdo i look okay?â you asked her as she watched him under her sunglasses. her head turned to you and you didnât need her glasses off her face to know the look she was giving you.
âi donât think you should be worrying about that if youâre just going to end up taking your clothes off in front of him.â
âjust say yes and move on.â you said, exasperated.
liza laughed to herself and lifted her hand to wave topper over. you watched as he put his phone back into his pocket, lowering his gaze to his sandals as he walked along the sand. you pushed yourself to stand with liza, trying your best to not fix your appearance.
âhey,â liza said easily as topper came closer.
âhey, howâs it going?â
âgood. this is y/n, as you already know.â liza gestured to you.
âhi,â you said and gave an awkward wave. it was only awkward with liza there, but you knew sheâd be leaving shortly.
âhey.â he said and slipped his hands into his pockets.
it made you smile when you saw his eyes traveling over you for a split second. liza saw it too. you let your own eyes wander as liza said something; you werenât paying attention to listen.Â
âwell, iâm going to head out.â liza said as she bent to roll up her towel. you crossed your arms loosely as you watched her. she picked up her bag and turned to you. âlet me know if you need me to pick you up.â
you gave her a nod and watched her take a few steps. she turned slightly to point at topper. âbe nice to her.â she warned, making you laugh like she was a parent trying to threaten a boy.
once she was out of sight, you sat down on half of the towel so topper could have the other side. he followed you, propping his legs in front of him as you stretched yours out.
âso, are you just here for the weekend?â topper asked after a few moments. you were trying not to let it become awkward, but he had beaten you to it.
âuntil next saturday.â you said, glancing at him as you leaned back on your hands. you could feel a shell under your palm, so you moved it to a different spot. âliza wanted me to visit before we go back to school.â
topper nodded, his elbows atop his knees. he glanced at a beach ball rolling by, a little kid chasing after it. âare you guys close?â
âyou could say that. you went to high school together?â
âyeah, we kind of had the same friends so we hung out at the same places.â
you hummed as you looked toward the shore. you saw a couple kites over the water, their tails whipping in the wind. âitâs nice here.â
âyeah, kitty hawk is nice. i like to paddle board over at kill devil hills.â you turned your eyes to him, finding him already looking at you.
you smiled lightly and squinted at him. âiâve never been paddle boarding.â
âreally? itâs fun. what about surfing?â
âi tried, but i split my lip. iâm sure if i tried again iâd get the hang of it.â
topper nodded with an identical smile, looking at you a little longer. ten seconds later, your heart lurched as topper reached back and took his shirt off. you glanced away with a slight blush, an inkling of a thought about public sex creeping into your mind. topper then stood and reached a hand to you.
âcome on, come in the water with me.â he promoted. you felt your heart settle as you took his hand and he pulled you up.
you spent the next fifteen minutes in the water. you glided your hands along the surface as the waves rolled and topper talked animatedly with you. you were enjoying this part as much as you didnât want to admit, seeing as that all you were looking for was a hookup. but he was so talkative and curious and hardly ever broke the eye contact. you played with the sand under your feet while he dunked himself under the surface then wiped a hand over his face.
when you got out and dried yourself off with lizaâs towel, you wiped your face and looked over the soft fibers at topper. you held the towel out to him, dripping onto the sand. you were partially dry for now and itching under your skin. you looked away as he dried himself off but found yourself looking back as he bent over to wipe down his legs. when he stood tall again, you couldnât help the way your eyes lingered over his glistening stomach, admiring.
âcan we get out of here?â you asked.
topper nodded and handed you the towel. he took it back from you after pulling his shirt on so you could do the same. your bottoms were still wet so you left your shorts off for the time being and grabbed the rest of your things. topper fiddled with his keys, brushing the sand off them as he led you to the car lot. the gravel poked at your bare feet, some pebbles sharp enough to make you wince, but you endured it the whole way to a jeep that topper brought you to. it unlocked with a beep and before you climbed in, you put the towel over the seat and brushed your feet off, not wanting to track sand, dirt, or rocks into his shiny vehicle. it felt too high up for you, like you were sitting on the roof rather than inside it, but you closed the door gently.
â
âoh...wow.â
it kind of looked like a forty-year-old woman threw up. and it was all over the house. every room seemed overly decorated, a bunch of different script fonts with those cheesy sayings plastered everywhere. the house had high ceilings and the paint was pristine. it was very bright due to all of the windows and you wondered if there were any dark spots at all inside the house.
even topperâs room had a hint of a forty-year-old woman in it when you walked in.
âi think your mom went overboard at pottery barn.â you joked. âyour dad couldnât monitor her credit card uses?â
topper closed the door behind you as you wandered in, hands clasped gently in front of you. he tossed his keys onto a dark dresser beside the entryway and paused there at your remark.
âi donât know my dad.â he said.
you turned then from staring at the light blue walls adorned with framed potted plant prints. âoh.â you said, your stomach aching like youâd been kicked. you knew it wasnât exactly the nicest thing to say, no matter how you said it. normally you could get away with saying things like that, but you had to remind yourself that you didnât know topper.
âmy dad has a habit of canceling a lot of my momâs outstanding online purchases so i just thoughtâ iâm sorry.â you shifted on your feet, moving your hands to your sides.
topper only shrugged as you went back to scoping out the room. you tapped your thighs awkwardly as a discarded pair of socks seemed pretty interesting to you. when you looked back at topper, you relaxed since he didnât come off as uncomfortable. you decided to just forget it and push it out of your head as you crossed your arms and reached for the hem of your shirt.
you left it somewhere on the floor before taking a few timid steps to topper. he stayed where he was against the dresser, watching you closely as you came to him. you leaned in close, bringing your hand to the back of his neck while his hands fell easily to your hips. glancing over his features quickly and landing on his mouth, you smiled softly and asked, âis this okay?â
the tension left your body as topper nodded, staring at your own mouth, before you finally gave him a kiss. another had him opening his mouth wider, and another was a little deeper. you smiled against him.
âwhat?â he asked, his fingertips poking at your sides, his face close.
âi can taste your toothpaste.â
topperâs cheeks tinged a light pink and he pulled you closer against his body, licking into the next kiss and surprising you. you moaned delightedly and brushed your fingers into his damp hair.
you let your hands wander down his neck, shoulders, and chest. he felt firm in all of those places and his shirt soft. you enjoyed the touch of his hands on your face, exploring a new territory, and holding you close. every cell in your body was cheering with delight, like youâd just chugged a liter of water after a sweltering day. a slight buzz started under your fingertips as a familiar tingling grew in your bathing suit bottoms. every touch had you anticipating the end result.
topperâs skin was warm and taut as you slipped a hand under his shirt and played with the waistband of his bottoms. his tongue was fighting with yours while you were fighting with yourself about whether or not to take his shirt or bottoms off first. you couldnât decide if you wanted to get it over with or to build up to finally having him inside of you. a moan slipped out at the thought. your finger hooked between his lower stomach and his bottoms when he pulled away abruptly at your noise and reached behind him to tug the shirt off.
as it fell to the floor, his hands returned to your hips to tug you flush against him. you could slightly feel him through his bottoms, the want to stick your hand inside now greater than ever. but he had a tight grip on your hips that showed no signs of letting up.
your breath was heavy with his as he turned the both of you so you were the one pressed against the dresser now. his hips brushed into yours slowly as the edge of the dresser dug into your lower back and you let your head fall as another moan came out.
âshit.â you whispered to yourself, your eyes closing at how good it felt. something so subtle that had your knees growing weak.
topper dragged a hand up to your jaw and pulled your lips back to his as he rolled his hips, this time a little firmer. to only add to the pleasure you were feeling, his hand slipped down to your chest where he groped you gently. he massaged a few strokes as you licked at his lip, begging for entrance. he granted it while he fingers flexed over your breast. you gladly let them wander to your back where he pulled at the strings, the damp silky fabric peeling off like those fake tattoo papers you put on when you were younger.
you pushed your now bare chest against topperâs, wrapping your arms around his shoulders and rubbing the heel of your foot into his calf. he turned you around, his hands rubbing down to your ass as he moved to the bed. you crawled backwards at the same pace he crawled over you, faces still close that you could feel his breath growing heavy.
âstop teasing.â you said through clenched teeth as topper nipped at your neck and rolled his hips into yours.
âwhereâs the fun in that?â he smiled to himself as he skimmed his nose along your neck.
you wanted to kick him, but instead you settled for pulling him back against your lips while letting your hand rest on his shorts again. his hips seemed to sink lower to you at the feeling and you hadnât even touched him yet.
your ears perked up at a small noise from somewhere while topper went unfazed and slipped his tongue back into your mouth. you ignored the small disruption and focused on him and your hand, now creeping your fingers along his abdomen. just as you barely got a knuckle deep into his bottoms a sliding door opened and banged. topper mustâve been so lost in where your hand was going that he still didnât move away from you.
âdid you hear that?â you pulled away.
âwhat?â he breathed.
a chorus of shouts and hollers came through the closed bedroom door. topper stilled and closed his eyes. âfuck,â he said before he pushed himself up and crawled away from you.
your eyebrows furrowed as you watched him get a footing and leave the room. you stared at the open door, partially annoyed at the interruption and the fact that you were left; naked.
groaning, you got up and pulled on your shirt again so you could follow topper. you went down the hall and found him in what you assumed to be the living room, a large tv on one wall and a white couch placed in front of it. the sliding door you heard led out onto a large deck, where you saw a group of guys all standing. topperâs bare back was facing you as he was in the middle of talking to someone, his shoulders tense.
the moment you stepped on the threshold, your bare feet against the cool metal, all eyes were on you. the guy topper had been talking to looked over his shoulder, instant curiosity on already stimulated features. he had topperâs hand in his, his opposite on his shoulder like he was giving him a pep talk.
âwhoâs this?â he asked, a sick smile appearing like youâd drop down onto your knees in front of him.
you grimaced very noticeably and spoke for yourself. âsomeone whoâs trying to get laid. who the hell are you?â
a few low whistles rang out and you sent glares to the guys behind the one you were originally looking at. topper looked at you over his shoulder and gave you an apologetic look. you were glad he didnât ask you to leave or wait for him, because you wouldâve gladly left. you were starting to feel the irritation bubble and soon you would be leaving.
âgot yourself a nice touron, huh, top?â the friend said, his arm looping around topperâs shoulders as he jostled him. his eyes were blown wide and not just from surprise. you grimaced deeper. they all looked like entitled, pretentious asshats and you were starting not to want anything to do with them. liza was totally right.
ârafe, come on, just leave. iâll text you later.â topper was saying while you seethed at the door.
âdonât be pussy-whipped, topper. just drop the bitch and come try my new stash.â
âexcuse me?â you pushed yourself off the doorway and stepped onto the warm deck. topper stopped you, turning out of rafeâs arm to plant his hands on your shoulders.
âwoah, woah,â topper said as you sent daggers at his friend. he just laughed cockily at you and rubbed his chin. âcan i text you later?â
your eyes snapped to topperâs pensive face in front of you. âare you kidding?â his hands dropped like you singed him. âdonât even bother.â
topper opened his mouth to call after you as you turned and walked away into the house. you shook your head to yourself and muttered as if anyone was listening. you shouldâve known better or you shouldâve expected less than for someone to put your needs before their own, much less a total stranger.
you wanted to slam a door behind you in annoyance as you went back to topperâs room to get your shoes. you also wanted to yell in frustration when you remembered your phone was still in his truck; you had wanted zero distractions. his keys were atop his dresser and you debated for a second whether or not to take themâ youâd just be getting your things and lizaâs towel.
just as you snatched your shoes and bathing suit top from the floor, topper slid into the room behind you and blocked the door. âplease donât leave,â he said quickly.
âunlock your car so i can get my stuff.â
âcome on, please stay. i want you to stay.â he took a step closer to you, his pleading expression prominent.
âi donât want to be here with your shitty friends pretending that we might get along when one of them just called me a bitch for no reason.â you countered and took a step to get by him, only to be caught around the waist. he turned you gently, his expression still the same.
âtheyâre leaving right now, i swear.â
âi donât believe you.â
âi swear!â he pleaded. âyou can go look yourself or you can take my word for it and we can pick up where we left off.â
you held your steely glare, trying not to show that you were reconsidering. you just really wanted to get laid and the situation only added to that frustration.
instead of smacking him with a sandal, you dropped everything in a heap and attached yourself to him again. his fingers worked quickly to pull your shirt back off, running along your sides and planting themselves on your hips. you nipped at his lip, silently begging him to move faster. he seemed to have the right idea as he turned you and pushed you back to the bed. you landed softly, your legs dangling off the edge, as you watched topper stand tall in front of you. his chest grew bigger as he took a breath and bent down to push his bottoms off. you pulled your lip between your teeth, not hiding the way your eyes flickered down to catch a glimpse. your ears grew hot and your skin pricked at topperâs semi-erection, the tip of him glistening. you wondered what he tasted like.
your gaze broke as topper moved to the side of the bed, rifling through his nightstand. you took that opportunity to take your bottoms off, flicking them somewhere in the room with your foot. you flipped over onto your stomach, grinning to yourself at the full view of topperâs butt. taking a nail between your teeth, you bit it anxiously and watched as he found a condom. you couldnât help but giggle as he looked over the packaging, reading the date. your feet kicked in the air playfully.
when topper went back to the foot of the bed, you looked over your shoulder as he rubbed himself before rolling the condom on. he combed a hand through his hair, pushing it off his forehead.
âgood to go?â you smiled.
he breathed in and nodded. âyou want it like this?â he gestured to the way you were on your stomach.
you hummed, nodding your head, and moved a little further down the bed so your hips were at the very edge. topperâs hands fell to your thighs and he spread your knees apart, his skin ghosting against yours as he stepped closer. you took a shaky breath in as the anticipation rose higherâ god, you couldnât wait. deep down, you hoped that it didnât suck. he had worked you up so much that you were sure youâd feel silly if it wasnât satisfying.
you tried not to show just how desperate you were as the tip of him teased your folds. you licked your lips, biting down on the bottom one and lay flat on the mattress. his hand gripped your hip now while the other guided himself to your entrance. a high-pitched moan bubbled from your chest and slipped past your lips as topper slowly moved himself inside of you. you let out a lower, satisfied moan when he was fully inside, flush against you. your feet knocked into his back as you adjusted to the size of him. topper tried to control his panting behind you, staring down at your ass and himself fully sheathed by you.
âjesus christ,â he said more so to himself, marveling at the way you fit around him. he imagined it wouldâve been so much better without a condom, but this was just as good.
just as you were about to ask him to move, he pulled out of you inch by inch. it felt uncomfortable at the empty feeling, but he came back a little quicker with a low noise of his own.
topper kept a steady rhythm, his hold tight on the skin over your hips and his breath blowing across your back each time he thrusted into you. you reveled in his noises, enjoying the low grunts and the occasional moans to mix with yours and the sounds your bodies were making. his skin started to smack against yours, building as your hands tightened over the comforter. there wasnât much conversation or dirty talk, which you didnât mind at the moment since you werenât looking to lengthen this experience out. you just wanted him to give you what you needed. so far, he was doing a pretty good job.
the bed dipped beside your shoulder as topperâs hips still moved. his body moved closer to yours, the heat from his chest seeping into the skin on your back and giving you a pleasant wave of goosebumps. you opened your eyes to find his fist planted beside you, just as his other hand gripped your shoulder. you pushed yourself up to your elbows, stretching your head backwards. topper followed your movements and bent over you, planting a wet kiss to your lips. he continued to move in you, the hand on your shoulder moving to your neck, his fingertips settling on the sides. you breathed heavily into his mouth at the new sensation as a slew of curses rang out in your mind.
topper licked into your mouth, teasing you and playing with your tongue as his fingertips pressed a little more into your skin. you moaned lowly and broke apart from him. he stayed close, reaching down to your ear and nipping at your earlobe. your mouth opened, eyes screwing shut again as you became aware that you were close to your end. maybe if he just squeezed a little more around your neck, youâd go over the edge.
âtopper, iâm going to come.â you breathed, feeling your head knock into his shoulder as he still moved. just then his hips snapped forward, hitting you a little deeper, a little harder. his lips moved off your ear, his breath hitting it now. you tightened yourself around him, not knowing that it brought him even closer while you came over him. you held on to the blanket, knuckles turning white while the same thing happened behind your eyelids. your face screwed up in ecstasy as topper pumped into you deliciously, his movements eventually faltering and stopping as he found his own climax. he groaned loudly into your ear, his breath hot, his grip not too tight, and his come feeling warm even through the condom. if only youâd actually felt it.
topper let go of your neck and you lay flat again, finding your breath with a heaving chest. topper watched the side of your face through hooded eyelids as he stayed hovering over you for a moment. the heels of your feet rested against his back; your thighs no longer tight against his thighs as you relaxed now.
your eye lazily opened as the air in the room met your back, topper moving away from you. you could see him out of the corner of your eye as he carefully touched your side and pulled himself out of you. you made a small noise, almost one of disappointment that he didnât stay there longer. he disappeared from your sight and your legs promptly closed, your feet still in the air even though you ached from staying like that for a while.
when topper came back, condom gone and thrown away and holding a washcloth, he tapped your lower back. you pushed yourself up slowly, wincing at tired joints and muscles, and thanked him before finding your way to the bathroom. you cleaned yourself up inside, peeing quickly and washing your hands. topper was stepping into his shorts when you came back.
âthe fuck is a touron?â you asked as you reached for your bathing suit bottoms almost under his dresser.
topper laughed behind you. âitâs a tourist.â
you made a face and pulled your bathing suit top over your head, tying it in the back. âeast coast people are weird.â
topper smiled to himself, glancing at you as you pulled your t-shirt on. he was dressed and ready to go when you were, grabbing his keys and letting you lead the way.
once he pulled into lizaâs ridiculously long driveway, you thanked him and jumped out, not wanting to make it awkward. liza was in her kitchen when you walked in, hair a little messy but dry.
she looked up at you from cutting some fruit. a curious smile came onto her lips. her eyebrows rose. âhow was it?â
you lifted yourself into one of the chairs at the island counter and reached over for a small piece. âi donât like his friends so i can see why you warned me but iâm letting it go.â you said, popping the fruit into your mouth.
liza blinked at you, not totally understanding but becoming uncomfortable with how chilled you were compared to the other days youâd been her guest. âwow,â she said. âyou really had a whole ass iceberg of frustration, huh?â
âi told you.â you shrugged and laughed once you stared at each other for a moment.
you ate dinner that night with liza and her dad, hearing a few stories and sharing your own over wine and lobster. just after you helped clean up the dishes and the kitchen, you felt your phone vibrate in your sweatshirt pocket. pulling it out, you read texts from a number you hadnât saved.
i enjoyed today
let me know if youâre ever visiting againđ

( lee hyeri, cis female, muse i ) oh snap! is that SHIN EUNBYUL they work over at high volume where some of the other employees have labeled them as THE AVERAGE JOE. thatâs probably because they can be a bit ( optimistic. ) but also pretty ( dishonest. ) theyâre TWENTY TWO and theyâve been living in woodstock for TWENTY TWO YEARS. it must be their shift because i totally hear THE CRANBERRIES blasting from the record store. ( a little tikes piggy bank tucked under the bed, clothing label sticking out from the back, snap clips with varnish peeling off, jelly shoes with the strap taped together, leaving lisa frank stickers along record crates )Â @volumeupdates
BIO
the luke hemsworth of the family but middle child
goes by byul
tried to go by âe.b.â but her mum went berserk because sheâd reduced her name to two letters for the ease of her yt friends and her brother bullied her for being e.tâs ugly sister so now she tries to go by silver star (her name translated into english) but it doesnât quite stick
claims that her older sister and younger brother stole all her beauty, brain cells and height
family invested everything into older sister so she could go to college in new york: savings, loans, moved to smaller house which is even further from the town centre
brother requires all attention as he has high hopes of getting into college on a baseball scholarship and she lowkey canât wait until heâs far away from woodstock
her grades have always been average so no one expects her to leave â her parents talk about how nice it is that sheâll be with them forever but she knows thatâs because they want her to take care of them when theyâre old ⊠which she would! if they didnât live in woodstock
she tells them sheâs going to move to california, but they think sheâs as serious about that as she is about wanting to go to college, or becoming supermodel of the world, or an olympic swimmer, when she has average grades, of average height, and canât even swim
if her life was a movie, sheâd have fallen asleep in the first ten minutes â it has always been so boring and uneventful, so she lives up in her head with her fake scenarios to keep things interesting â most of the time, theyâre taken straight from a book or magazine
sometimes these thoughts spill over into reality because she canât fathom the idea of people realising sheâs as plain as she is, and her little white lies give her a bit of sparkle to stand out (in her opinion)
but she will get to california!
she even has a plan:
sheâs been working at freddyâs diner since she was fifteen, escaping to high volume whenever she can, a place where she can pop her headphones on during her breaks and pretend sheâs getting ogled at on venice beach, but sheâs terrible at saving so seven years later sheâs still grinding
once she graduates high school, she has enough time for a second job and sheâd dropped enough hints in front of jerry for him to kindly offer her a job. after all, she spends as much time in high volume as she does at freddyâs so thereâs not much of a difference once she becomes an employee -- still floating around the place, sipping on her coke can, either people watching or people chasing -- except now she has access to the register
after a big argument with her parents, she ended up moving out into a place in the middle of town. that was never part of the plan because saving was easier when she lived at home. sheâll say things got really bad but really, she was just getting closer to her target and she wanted a valid reason to put it off for a bit longer
she was only supposed to do it once â stealing from the cash register. it was just right there, no one was around, and she thought it was going to be her last shift because jerry was angry at her for being late again (granted, he hadnât actually been mad, but it was one of those days when everything felt personal)
besides, sheâd overheard a group of girls sheâd idolised in school talk about how they stole some underwear and they made it sound so cool
she felt like everyone could hear her heart thumping against her chest as she walked out of the store but the day after, no one said anything about it, no one even noticed, and she wasnât fired. so she did it again, and again, and again, and eventually she didnât even bat an eyelid
the extra money was supposed to help her reach her goal faster but, again, sheâs terrible at saving and her parents are so hardworking, she canât help but feel guilty and buy nice things for them every once in a while and when they ask where she got the money from, she lies and says jerry gave her a bonus for being a good employee
on the other hand, if theyâve had an argument, or theyâve forgotten about her again, sheâll have a full on les-mis-i-dreamed-a-dream episode then splurge out on a cute jacket because itâs hers and itâs new! rather than worn out hand-me-downs from her sister or brother!
started her own side hustle called the separation agency â inspired after a customer at high volume asked her to help him break up with his boyfriend. so sheâs the messenger for people who have things to say but donât have the balls to say it to someoneâs face themselves. usually theyâre horrible messages, like break ups. sheâs had like three customers and tries to promote her side hustle whilst on her shift at high volume
she thinks her âbusinessâ could actually thrive in a bigger city which is just another reason why she needs to get out of woodstock â itâs holding her back!
anyway, jerryâs missing, which is perfect for her because she gets to come in late and not get told off, and maybe steal a little more than she usually does
PERSONALITY:
when sheâs around people, she seems like an extrovert: bubbly, talkative, dramatic ... which uses up a lot of her energy and her social battery is weak, so needs her own space often, and likes doing nothing by herself so sometimes sheâll lie to get out of plans or bail last minuteÂ
she has big dreams, and talks about all her big plans, but has leaving anxiety which is why sheâs shit at saving and makes up excuses as to why she canât leave just yetÂ
has main character syndrome -- likes to live her life as a romcom, most of her lies revolve around her love life because she wants to be seen as desirable, but also will overanalyse everythingÂ
sensitive, passionate, immature, sympathetic, fickle, clumsy, dramatic, caring, head in clouds
will pretend to knows things to fit in like ~hipster~ bands or anything really, depends on the crowd
could gladly spend all day talking to customers at work then the next day sheâll prefer to day dream in the storage room
rides a bike to and from work and almost everywhere else too -- the only one out of her siblings who had to bike to school because small car and siblings took up all the space -- sheâs had the same bike since high schoolÂ
loves spice girls but feels like sheâll be judged so keeps quiet and plays it when sheâs closing
honestly could hate you one day and have a crush on you the next but you wouldnât even know it -- a vicious cycleÂ
collects stickers and leaves them everywhere and on everyone - often passive aggressive through them, basically uses them like emojis
will try to order food and get others to pay for it - especially kfc, never gets to eat the drumsticks at home so will honestly cry if people steal the drumsticks from her
buys lottery tickets and scratch cards because she has a 50/50 chance of winning
WANTED CONNECTIONS: (current connections)
start up: stolen str8 from a kdrama that ruined my life hehe her parents set her up with a pen pal to keep her busy out of guilt because theyâre so busy with her siblings and work and obviously she romanticises it !!! her parents wouldâve asked to lie a little bit, just so sheâd be writing to someone sheâd easily obsess over -- love island vc: someone who ticks all the boxesÂ
xoxo gossip girl: someone who loves a good gossip sesh -- they probably send đ at each other across the store when things feel a bit tense, which is code for âmeet me in the storage roomâ so they can chat away for the rest of their shift
lunch stealer: she makes her own lunch every day and is extremely protective over it but one day it went missing and she knows it was them (maybe it was, maybe it wasnât) so now they are her sworn enemy
sisterâs/brotherâs friend: therefore an automatic enemy
shut up: someone who just tells her to shut up because she chats so much shit and sheâs insane - just sandra x dina vibes from superstore (x)
carpool karaoke: she hates cycling in when itâs raining, so either sheâs trying to get them to be her designated driver or has already succeeded and is annoying about it
crush #1: someone she has a crush on (more of an infatuation) and theyâre not interested in her in the slightest but in her head theyâre giving her mixed signals and she has made up a fake boyfriend to try to make them jealous
crush #2: someone she thinks has a crush on her. either because theyâre nice or tease her or just mean, it doesnât matter, sheâs insane so sheâll interpret it however she wants
ex: they never broke up, or even dated, but she thinks something almost happened between them and she thinks she cut things off by giving them space
separation agency: someone who once used the agency either out of the kindness of their heart or for a different reason entirely and now she wonât stop pestering them to try and get them to use it again
no thots just vibes: i just like this gifset tbh (x) and we can brainstorm !Â

Meeting
Summary:Â Malachai/Reader using the prompts; âIâm pregnant.â and âMarry me?â
Youâd made sure Malachai was out on at least a two day job before youâd sworn Jacob; the Ghoulie whoâd be charged with looking out for you to secrecy. Youâd seen the fear in his eyes when you threatened him; and the confusion when youâd made him pull around the side of the conveince store. âYou swore me to secrecy over a snack run?â âYes.â He scowls nudging the bag grinning as he peers inside.
âHeâs gonna kill you if he finds out you tried it without him.â âThatâs why he wonât find out.â You half shove him; keeping the actual reason youâd gone to the store hidden in your jacket. You shove the bag of snack cakes into the fridge and watch as Jacob follows you, flopping onto the chair eyeing you as you fill a glass with water. âWant a drink?â You offer a beer and he shakes his head. âDonât you?â âNo fun without Malâs.â You laugh and quiet when he watches you. âWhat?â âYou didnât drink during the send off party, or the one before that.â
âAnd? Sometimes you just donât feel like drinking. Not that surprising..â You finish your glass trying to refill it casually. âYouâve stopped doing Jangle, and smoking; youâre shaking all the time from withdrawls.â âGuess it just slipped my mind.â âOr something else has taken itâs place.â âYou think Iâm on hard drugs?â âNo; I think you need to drink more water.â âOh really?â âYeah; pregnancy tests tend to need piss to work right?â He waves the box in front of you and you glare to where youâd put your jacket and bag down. âIf you-â âIf I what? You donât even know nothing yet. I wonât tell him.â âOr anyone else?â
âOh no; they already know.â He grins looking up from his phone where you see a photo of the test in the group chat he and the other Ghoulies have. âJacob; I swear to-â You sigh when thereâs a knock on the door. âYes? Oh my god do you guys just keep this shit around for fun?â You glare at the group of Ghoulies whoâre holding out cupcakes and balloons. âOkay itâs not a baby shower; I havenât even peed on the damn stick yet so-â âPEE ON IT!â âShut up!â Jacob laughs nodding to everyone and you side step to let the group of Ghoulies enter the house.
âOkay so ideaâs for how to tell Malachai? It has to be special and-â You shake your head grabbing the test from Jacob and retreating to the master bathroom for privacy. You finish peeing setting the test on the sink and debate returning to the living room where you can hear chatter about the best way to tell Malachai. You wait trying to eavesdrop for entertainment knowing youâll be getting a retelling of everything that happened while you were in limbo. You turn back partially surprised the test is positive  so quickly but you know you can always get another if you doubt it. âNo we can just throw a party for him when he gets back and then surprise youâre a dad now!!!â âIf heâs gonna be a dad.â Jacob turns and you can feel all the Ghoulies anticipation as you sit on the couch. âSo?â
âSo? Whatâre your ideas we have to make it good.â You cringe back when they cheer. âJesus fucking christ why are yâall so excited??â âThis is gonna be the best!â âOh my god think of all the tiny leather jackets! The studs!â Jacob shakes his head grinning at you and you laugh. âGuys; hey, hey everyone; calm down. Okay first things first we need to have those cupcakes; and then we can discuss ideas right.â Everyone grins and Jacob half passes out the cupcakes while heâs on his phone. Heâs grinning laughing and texting.
âOkay so what I was thinking is when he gets back from the job we call a meeting and then when heâs doing announcements and the briefing about the job I can tell him?â You watch everyone look to Jacob who nods. âThat sounds perfect.â You smile relieved everyone seems so quick to agree.
âSo the group chat you have; Malâs isnât in it?â âOh no; we have one where heâs in it and youâre not; and then the one youâre in and heâs not and- What? Oh like you actually care we have a group chat without you; youâre the one that suggested it after we tried to plan a surprise party for Evan and he saw it.â âWell yes; but why do you need to exclude me; Malachaiâs girlfriend and Ghoulie member from the Ghoulie group chat?â âJust cause; we talk about guy stuff.â âGuy stuff? Can I see then? I promise I wonât let Malachai know.â âNo!â You narrow your eyes as he locks his phone and shoves it in his pocket. âDid you message him about the snack cakes?â âYes.â You scowl confused why he looks so relieved as you retire to bed.
You wake up and can faintly hear the ghoulâs talking. âDo you really think it matters; we can just suggest it as a surprised thing, heâll think itâs his idea and she still believeâs its hers. Itâs foolproof.â âWhat about the phone thing; you know he hates them during meetings. Sheâll catch on.â You can hear Evan half whisper. âWe say weâre recording it; you know for the moment. Theyâll both agree to it. Fool proof I tell you! Fool proof.â You canât help but laugh at Jacobâs assuredness.
âSo the plan is we have the usual meeting and you say you have an announcement; and then bam; you tell him, he cries, we record it; life goes on.â Jacob grins and you nod laughing. âHeâs not gonna cry.â âOh heâs gonna cry; you both are.â âI bet you fifty we both wonât cry.â Jacob laughs shaking your hand.
âMalachai; babe, pleaseeeeee; pleaseeee let me tell the ghoulâs. It really is important.â You drape yourself over him and he grins up at you as he slides down the couch relaxing. âI just got home baby; let me think for- are those the limited edition snack cakes?â âYeah I was saving them for.â Malachai cuts you off with a kiss pulling the bag from your hands. âI love you.â âI love you too. Iâm the best; didnât even try them before you got home.â
âThe best; cause youâre my girl.â He grins and you nod tapping the snack cake he hands you to his in a mock cheer. You try not to breathe through your nose when you bite it but you canât help it the taste causing you to recoil and scramble towards one of the trash cans. âFuck.â You hiss terrified youâve blow the surprise for later. You turn watching Malachai laughing. âI get theyâre bad Y/N but you donât need to be over dramatic.â âWho thought watermelon and pumpkin was a good idea?!!?â âSomeone who loves summer and halloween.â You scowl tossing the rest of the cake into the trash. âIts horrible.â He nods pulling you back into his arms. âItâs okay love; the snack cake canât hurt you anymore.â He chuckles as you whine and flop onto his chest.
âSo during the meeting I have an idea; I wanted to let everyone know about and-â âAn idea?â Malachai looks skeptical. âWell an announcement; of sorts; to the Ghoulies.â âAn announcement; to the Ghouls. What is it?â âWhat?â âIf youâre going to announce something to them I need to know what it is. As leader.â âNot just because youâre nosey?â âWell both.â He grins and you shake your head.
âWhat do you mean your announcement is more important than mine? Iâm the leader of the Ghoulies I should get priority.â âPlease Malachai; I think mineâs more important, especially to the Ghouls.â âDonât use their love for you against me.â âHow about we just say it at the same time?â âNo.â âPlease. I swear mine is more important if we say it at the same time then you can judge it.â You grin hopefully and he sighs looking to the rest of the Ghoulies whoâre grinning like children. âYouâre all assholes for not stopping this. Okay, fine; can one of you- Jesus ONE of you can count it down for us.â Malachai chuckles at the Ghoulies that shuffle back and sit down; you watch most of them on their phones; you know you asked at least a few of them to record whatâs about to happen so you assume they all told each other. Youâre relieved that Malachai doesnât bother about the phones; normally he would want them off for meetings. âOkay you ready?â You grin nodding  fighting to keep a smile off your face. âOkay just one rule; weâll face each other back to back and then spin around and say whatever it is; okay?â âWhat is it with you and acting like the Ghoulies are your own personal dueling academy?â
âItâs a good aesthetic.â âAlright you two, ready?â You nod sighing as youâre about to turn. âWait.â âY/N, weâve been waiting for this announcement for the entire day, if you hold us up for any longer Malachai wins the importance award.â You watch Malachai smirk. âI was going to ask for a good luck kiss but if you want it over faster-â âNo we can take another minute. totally fine.â Malachai glares at the Ghoulie who nods. You lean forward nodding before you turn facing his back smiling. âOkay, three, two, one.â You close your eyes when you turn nervous about seeing his face. âIâm pregnant.â âMarry Me?â You open your eyes to find him kneeling before heâs reaching for the ring he dropped in shock. âReally?â âYes.â He asks as you respond and he grins. âWe donât have to- Will you all shut up!â Malachai shouts as the Ghoulies cheer. âShe said yes though!â âYeah to her- OH!â You take the ring from him about to say something before he pulls you in for a kiss.
âDonât cry I bet Jacob fifty and-â âYou bet on me not crying? You just said yes; and weâre going to have a family⊠Plus youâre crying so now Iâm going to-â âNo I bet him that both of us wouldnât cry; one of us can it doesnât count.â âWhy do you get to cry then?â âYou just proposed to me; itâs perfectly normal for a girl to cry at that.â âI just found out Iâm going to-â âI withdraw the bet, Christ you two already fighting over dumb shit; kiss or something; please.â You narrow your eyes at Jacob and Malachai laughs. âOh weâre going to do a lot more that kiss I can assure you that.â âOh really?â You arch and eyebrow and Malachai nods. âYeah; I mean whatâs the worst that happens? Not like I can get you pregnant.â âWait does this mean we all need suits for the wedding? Can we just wear our-â âOh my god you havenât even met my parents yet.â You interrupt the worry from the Ghoulies. âItâll be fine; Iâm sure theyâll love me.â âI may have lied to them and told them you have a different job.â âWhat did you say?â âThat you managed a company of-â âSo thatâs a yes on the suits then!â Jacob shouts and Malachai drags his hands down his face. âYes on the suits; now would you all please get out of my house!! Iâm trying to have a conversation with my girlfriend.â âFiancee.â Jacob grins leaning from the doorway into the living room. âLeave!!â

haven't been on this account in months plus i don't even post writing on here but Hey have some unnecessarily angsty self-indulgent bullshit sanders sides fic!! mostly just a vent thing but ehh I like Roman too much to care
~
To Fall On Your Sword
TW for suicide, mild descriptions of gore, severe emotional distress (if there's anything else PLEASE let me know)
~
Roman sank down into his room, wracked with violent sobs. It was too much. Too much. He stared into a mirror - his room was full of them, just in case he got too separated from reality. Just in case he started seeing things. Because his reflection grounded him. But now, all his reflection was doing was making him painfully aware of how unbelievably pathetic he looked. Pathetic and alone. Because he was, and he knew that now. Thomas had given up on him, and at this point, staring into his reflection and desperately trying to make out something good, he didn't blame him.  He wasn't even a real side, no wonder he was so useless, maybe he should fuse with Remus again, maybe then he'd be a real hero, maybe then he'd be useful, maybe then Thomas would love him again- oh god, never mind the adoration, never mind the fame or the romance, he just wanted Thomas to love him. That's all he wanted. And now he'd never get that, and it hurt, oh god it hurt. Â
He was bleeding. He wasn't sure how, or when, but the mirror in front of him was broken, shattered on the floor, and his fist was covered in shards of glass and stained in his blood. More than anything he wanted to punch the real thing, to let out his anger on something that deserved it, and maybe then he could finally bring himself to swallow his insatiable pride and become what he needed to be, what Thomas needed him to be.Â
He settled for letting out a sob that was really more of a scream and falling to his knees, his face stained with blood and tears. Â
He didn't care if anybody heard him. What would they care anyway? They had more important things, bigger things to worry about than the half-side with the hero complex having a temper tantrum like a teenager who'd just discovered My Chemical Romance and had decided that the whole world was unfair to them in particular. And maybe it was. Maybe the universe decided to fuck him over the second Patton decided that half of him - and, he really had to admit that Remus was part of him now - was too disturbing to exist. Maybe the second he was deemed 'the good twin' the universe decided that was enough good luck for his whole existence. He could feel the edges of dozens of glass shards beneath his knees, digging into his legs, he could feel them ripping open his skin from below; he took comfort in the sensation of hot blood running down his legs like paint, like some morbid art of his brother's design (although, come to think of it, what was the difference between his art and Remus's, anyway?). His breaths came out short and unsteady, half of him desperate for someone to find him, comfort him, tell him everything's going to be okay, and half of him praying that this moment of irrefutable weakness could be something secret, something that maybe, if he could just find even the slightest bit of good fortune, he could keep to himself.
He only half heard Patton knock on his door, only half heard him call out empty comforts with that soft but oh-so painful voice of his, and, logically, only half completely pretended he couldn't hear him. It took almost a minute for him to leave. Roman couldn't tell if he had gotten the message, or if he had just gotten bored. Either worked for him. He didn't want to speak to Patton. He didn't know who exactly he wanted to speak to, but it wasn't Patton. He didn't want to be comforted. He didn't want to have to act like he was feeling better only to go back to pressing down his desires and pretending he was okay with total self-sacrifice. Because he wasn't, of course he wasn't, but he conceded that Patton had to be right. Because if he was going against Patton, he was going against Thomas's morals. And if he was going against Thomas's morals, that would make him evil, and he wasn't evil, he couldn't be evil, he couldn't let himself be evil; Remus was evil, his brother, not him, he wasn't like his brother, he wasn't, because he couldn't be, because he wouldn't let himself, because-
Deceit's words were still ringing through his head (he didn't have the willpower to call him Janus). Maybe that was why, for a brief moment, he was so unshakably convinced that he was the villain. Maybe just the memory of the betrayal, the vulnerability on his face made him want to throw up, made him believe, for that brief moment, that maybe he was in the wrong. Like he had been with Virgil. Â
Just like he had been with Virgil.
So maybe he was the villain. Maybe he had always been the villain. He was an adult, he could accept that. He could accept that no problem, that he was... evil. That he was in the wrong. That maybe the mindscape would be better off without him. Maybe Remus could do a better job after all.
After all, there was only ever meant to be one creativity. He wasn't even supposed to exist. Maybe... maybe if there was only one creativity, everything would be normal again. Thomas would be happy. That's what he wanted, right? He wanted Thomas to be happy? That was what was important. That was the only thing that was important. Not him, not his feelings, not his fragile self-worth, what mattered was Thomas. So he made up his mind.
But if he had to go, he'd go out with a bang.
He considered ducking out. Maybe it would be fitting, considering how he treated Virgil, to leave quietly in the same way he had planned to. But they had gotten Virgil back, and Roman... didn't plan on coming back. And then he looked at himself in the mirror, one of the mirrors that hadn't been shattered, and considered for a moment that the sword in his belt really hadn't gotten enough use. Fine. That was fine. He could fix that.
He unsheathed the weapon with trembling hands, holding it out in front of him with the blade pointed towards his chest. He didn't want to say he was scared, but then, he supposed lying to himself wouldn't do him any good anymore. He didn't bother wiping the tears from his face. It felt freeing just to be able to cry like this, nothing held back, nothing hidden or repressed. He knew Patton would be upset. He'd have to be. It was in his nature. But he'd get over it. He'd move on. He liked to think that Virgil would miss him, miss their back-and-forth, their playful teasing; that mopey emo was dear to him, although he'd never admit it to his face. Logan wouldn't care. Logan's job would be easier, without someone like him getting in the way of Thomas's health - and he supposed the same would apply to Janus. And Remus... well, Remus would be free. Free to do what he wants. Roman supposed he deserved it, after so much time repressed. And Thomas would figure out what to do with him. This was for Thomas's sake, after all. Â
He stared at the edge of the blade for a brief moment. He could see his reflection, pitiful and tear-stained, as he forced himself to smile. For the good of Thomas. He took a deep breath. His words came out firm, clear, but with an uncertain tremor to them, shaking in what could have been fear, despair, or anger.
"I'm not a hero."
He didn't scream as the blade pushed through his skin. He didn't sob, or yell - nothing that dramatic. He just gasped slightly as the pain choked every noise he may have had out of him. He laughed slightly. Blood seeped out from under his red sash, staining the white fabric as he collapsed limply to the side and closed his eyes. Â
~
He woke up to a voice. Well, actually, several voices - all in whispers and hushed tones. He wasn't expecting to wake up at all, so it came as a surprise. But the second he opened his eyes, blinking a little to reduce the misted blur that obscured his vision, the voice of who he could only assume was Logan rang out through the room, right from his side. The only thing that dissuaded him from the assumption that it was Logan speaking was the audible worry in his voice.
"Patton." He heard soft, trembling sobs coming from the other side of the room. He also noticed for the first time that he felt almost calm, and nostalgic, and the pillows underneath him were just soft enough that he felt like he could lie there forever. "He's awake."
There was a moment of silence, swiftly proceeded by the familiar warmth of Patton's arms, wrapped around his whole body tighter than he had ever felt it before, like a mother's final hug to her son before watching him leave his childhood home. He didn't say a word. He didn't have to. Logan cleared his throat.
"I appreciate that you're relieved, however, please refrain from doing even more damage to his-"
"Roman, what were you thinking!?" He blinked a few times, just to make sure he was seeing clearly. Why was Deceit so worried? "Oh, yes, what an incredible idea, impaling yourself on your own-"
He winced. Deceit's expression softened.
"Look. I'm... sorry for yelling. But if you think you could have gotten away with that without stressing us all out, well, I don't even know what to say to you."
He opened his mouth to say something, to retort, maybe, or just to apologise, but was stopped in his tracks by Logan.
"Don't speak yet, I'm not sure how much damage you did, and I don't want to aggravate any damaged areas. I'm sure you understand." He nodded, still dumbfounded by the fact that he was alive. Logan cleared his throat and adjusted his glasses. "I feel obligated to let you know that I agree with Janus. What you did was an awful, irrational act, and I'm not going to lecture you on it, because I feel like you already know, but... Roman, when we found you like that-"
"He cried for three minutes straight. Virgil timed it." Patton smiled, over his own hiccups and relieved sobs. Logan coughed.
"Yes, well, it was a shock. For the record, Virgil cried-"
He was cut off by the sound of Roman being slapped straight to the face. He blinked.
"Where did you even-"
"That's for making me worry about you, bastard." Virgil said, looking Roman directly in the eyes so fiercely that Roman could almost believe he was genuinely mad. Patton opened his mouth as if to object, but decided to just let Virgil say his piece. "You don't just do that! Jesus, Roman, you could have died!"
"Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm fairly sure that was the-"
"Shut it, Deceit." He hissed. Deceit shrugged. "I couldn't care less what the point was. You fucked up, princey!"
"Language!"
"Sorry Patt." He smiled sheepishly, before turning back to Roman. "You're lucky the snake got to you when he did."
Roman stared at the odd congregation. He hadn't expected this. He was bad for Thomas, he was a villain, he was so awful to Deceit, they had every reason to let him go, but... Deceit - no - Janus had saved him. God, what was he thinking? He felt his eyes misting up with tears as he watched the rest of the group argue. But argue lovingly, as they always had. He would have missed this.
And as he watched the others leave, on Logan's suggestion, so that Roman could get some well-needed rest, it was Janus who hung back.
"Just so you know? What you did was not selfish. It was self-destructive. Which, arguably, is much, much worse. So don't go blaming me."
He shook his head, smiling weakly. Janus returned the gesture.
"Oh, and just for the record, your brother was here just before you woke up. I told him I wouldn't tell you, but... I daresay he was crying much more than Logan."
He winked, before turning on his heel and walking through the door. Roman smiled to himself once again, leaning his head back on his pillow and closing his eyes.
He would have missed this.

Last chance - Chapter 4
Chapter 1 | Chapter 2 | Chapter 3 | AO3 This chapter is Luka's POV of what happened before day 6 and during chapter 3 (present time).Â
___________________________________________
Lukaâs POV
6 Â days earlier - somewhere in United States of America
As soon as I reach the airport with Chloe, our private jet is already ready, with her loyal assistant (butler?) ready to take the controls of the plane. Who would have thought Mister Jean⊠what was his name again? Jean-Paul? Jean-Pierre? Jean-Pascal? Whatever. We have a pilot and we can reach Paris in a few hours.
The plan is to get there and use Adrien's private plane instead of Chloe's to go to Tibet: a safer plane for difficult flying conditions, thatâs mostly it.
Adrien⊠it's been a while since we talked. I wonder if he hates me like Chloe used to. Was he even aware of Chloe's revenge plans? I can't deny I'm curious, but these aren't the thoughts that occupy my mind at the moment.
There's still a few hours left and I can't stop thinking about Marinette's messages.
'I love you'
Is it for real? This isn't some kind of hidden camera, isn't it? Can I trust these words? I certainly want to⊠but should I? I need to hear it directly from her to believe it. I don't want to keep my hopes up just to sink deeper.
No matter what, I need to arrive earlier than the time Alix created for us. I need to stop her from doing something stupid and unnecessary.
Please⊠let me save her. Let me make it in time. Let me help her find her happiness. That's all I've ever wanted⊠What can I do to help her? Am I really the one she wants? Can I really help her? What if I'm not enough?
A big sigh leaves from my mouth.
"Baby, you should rest. You haven't slept much tonight, haven't you? There are still some hours left. Try to get some sleep"
This⊠is unexpectedly considerate from Chloe. I'm relieved her attitude has improved after these years. Hell, I wouldn't have proposed to her if I weren't sure she had changed. But her plans against Marinette⊠Oh, thatâs right. I still have some talking to do with her. But maybe I should listen to her advice and get some rest first.
"Thanks, ho-Â Chloe"
Stupid habits. I need to stop calling her âhoneybeeâ already. Ugh⊠it's not as easy as I expected⊠I'm the type of man who likes stability⊠habits are hard to break for me.
I don't need to see Chloeâs face to notice her heart song is now sad and remorseful. My eyes are closed, but I can't sleep. Worries about Marinette keep my mind occupied. But it seems at some point I had entered my dreamlands. I really was exhausted, no wonder. A music video recording plus wedding preparations with Chloe is some energy-draining combo.
"Where are we now? How much time until Paris?"
"Still a long way. You've only slept for 30 minutes. Get some more rest, baby, youâll need it"
"No. I'm fine. I got enough sleep. Instead⊠We should talk"
Iâm trying to sound serious and not scary, but Iâm not sure if Iâm accomplishing it⊠probably not.
"Oh⊠already? You didn't need to think much, huh? Geez. All this is ridiculous. Am I that easily disposable to you?"
"You know that's not it, Chloe. You know I care for you. But you also know my feelings for Marinette are⊠never going to fade. I don't know if she's still the same girl she was when we used to spend time together, but if she is⊠Then I know my heart won't hesitate"
"Yeah⊠I've always known that. Always Dupain-Cheng. I've never been good enough for you"
"Hey! Thatâs not true. Don't take it as if you're not extraordinary, Chloe, because you are. And Iâm sure there's someone out there ready to notice and appreciate you. You deserve better than me"
"Well, I don't care about that 'someone out there'. All I want is you, Luka! Is staying with me even an option for you? Has it ever been? Why did you propose to me if you planned to throw me away as soon as you had the chance to?"
She's hurt. Horribly hurt. Still working her pride to cover how devastated she actually is. But the tears on her eyes are not doing a very good job to hide it.
I feel horrible.
And I have no excuse.
I never expected Marinette to return my feelings. But if she really does⊠I have to be honest with Chloe. She deserves the truth. Â
"No, hon- Chloe. I'm sorry. I never planned to use you as a rebound. I wanted to marry you, for real. I really tried to move on. Iâve wished for Marinette's happiness over everything, and... If I had known she wasn't happy⊠things would have gone differently, no doubt. Iâm sorry for hurting you. You donât deserve it"
"You would have run to her the instant she broke Adrien's heart if you had known about her feelings. Youâve never loved me like you love Marinette, not even close if youâre able to decide this fast to dump me even when our wedding is coming soon. You have no shame"
Wow, her words surely sting. Who is supposed to be the snake one here? Oh, well. I guess she wasn't a wasp for nothingâŠ
"I wouldn't have met you if I had known she wasnât happy. I don't regret the time we have spent together. I love you too, just in a different way"
"Do I have a chance to win you back?"
Straight to the point, huh? Typical of her. I donât want to hurt her, but I need to be honest with her.
"I don't know. Probably not, I'm not going to lie. But I really wish for your happiness and I wish we could still be friends when everything is over"
Ah... I can feel that deadly glare pierces through my heart. Wow, sheâs really angry. And hurt. Not that I can complain. Itâs totally understandable and I deserve the hate. Anger over embarrassment, huh?
"Give me a percentage. What are my chances?"
What an unbelievable question. But itâs so Chloe. I blink a few times as I think of a proper answer. I like her, I canât deny that. But if Marinette is ready to accept me this time⊠Iâm not going to reject or ignore her and regret it forever. No more.
"Love and feelings don't work with percentages, hone- Ugh. Chloe. They're uncontrollable, beyond our understanding and wishes. But... if you insist on a number⊠a 2% maybe? I don't know. Almost 0% if Marinette's feelings are true and her heart song remains unchanged"
"Thatâs so low itâs ridiculous... Hmph! But itâs still not a 0, so I donât have to give up yet. I'm not losing to Dupain-Cheng again. Not without putting on a fight, at least!"
I can't help it but giggle. She's adorable in her own way.
"Good luck, then."
To be honest, a part of me doesn't want to break up with Chloe. Even if her original reasons to approach me had evil intentions, I know she has changed now. But if Marinette's feelings are for real⊠if she really turned her heart towards me⊠that's all I've ever wished for. And I'm not going to run away from her.
Not again. Not anymore.
But first...
"Hon- I mean- Chloe. I want you to return me the ring I gave youâ
"WHAT!? NO!! No way I'm giving it up! You're still my fiancĂ©e! At least until everything is over or until we get married. I really hope itâs this second option, let me tell you! I have no intention of canceling our Wedding!"
Stubborn as always, huh? I sigh again.
"OK. You can keep it for now. But you're returning it to me when everything is overâ
Chloe seemed to be about to say something, but she stopped.
âHmphâ
Her face then buries on my shoulder and I hug her a little, patting her head. Sheâs mad and sad, of course. And her bawling starts, like a baby. I feel bad for breaking her heart like this and Iâm sorry for her. Iâm the worst... I wish she finds her happiness and someone who can fully love her as she deserves.
___________________________________________
My eyes open again at the sound of the PA message.
âLanding in 10 minutesâ
Chloe has fallen asleep with me at some point. We exchange looks and a nod, preparing for the arrival to Paris. I look at Chloe. I know sheâs afraid of landings, so I hold her hand, like always, and I notice her relax a bit, closer to me. Damn, she's cute when sheâs scared.
And here we are: Paris.
Itâs been a long time since Iâve been home. But I wonât be staying long. The Eiffel Tower looks as pretty as I remember it. Home... I wonder if I can go back when everything is over...
Adrienâs bodyguard (doesn't he have a name?) is waiting for us at the airport. He grabs Chloe's massive amount of luggage (when did she have the time to prepare it?) and guides us to Adrien's private plane.
The plane is definitely bigger. Just how rich is the Agreste family? Did Marinette really renounce owning part of this empire? I know sheâs not interested in money or fame, but if she really gave it up for me, then Iâm more than flattered. It still doesnât sound real, though.
The Gorilla leads us inside and everyone is waiting for us there: Alya, Nino and Adrien. I can immediately notice the tension in the air when they see me. Wary of Adrienâs and my reaction. Nothing to be surprised about, I guess⊠Â
And there's Adrien, handsome as ever, standing in the middle of the plane and looking at me with his intense emerald green eyes. Before I can move or speak he takes the first step and hugs me.
"Luka!"
"Hey. Nice to see you, Adrien" I hug him back as I hear his friend's relieved sighs. What did they expect?
Adrien looks like he really wants to have a word with me. Something serious. And I'm quite sure I know exactly what it is. But before he opens his mouth...
"Hey, Adrikins! I'm here too, you know? Where's my hug?"
Chloe. She really doesn't know how to read the mood. Geez... Well, go on, I signal to Adrien, who follows Chloe's petition.
"Thatâs better. Now bring me my favorite drink and let me sleep for a while. Make it double in alcohol. Iâll be at the back of the plane. Donât disturb me!"
And there she goes, disappearing through the aisle. I can't help it but smile. That's so Chloe: looking for an excuse to cry alone at her heart content. Iâll check on her later, but she'll have to get used to it.
I exchange some greetings with Alya and Nino before Adrien calls me again.
"Luka, come here. We need to talk"
"Yeah, I figured. Can I do something first?"
The plane is getting ready for take-off, but I make sure to grab the speaker first.
"Hello everyone. Luka here. First of all, I want to thank you all for coming. Sorry it's been so rushed, but the cause demands immediate action. As you may know, Marinette is trying to use some of the Miraculous for her own benefit and we can't allow that. Adrien may know better than me, but the universeâs balance could break because of that and we canât let it happen. Since there's a long way until Tibet, we'll hold a strategy reunion when we get closer. Miraculous team: let's save Marinette, let's save Ladybug! Now get some rest and we'll discuss the strategy details later. Thank you for your attention"
After some claps, I return to my seat next to Adrien. Take off takes place without incidents and we can reassume our conversation.
"Luka⊠I-... I want to apologize to you. I'm sorry... Back then... I hurt you, didn't I? I didn't know you had feelings for Marinette and yet⊠all the advice I asked you for⊠whenever you joined our dates⊠you never looked sad and⊠Why didn't you tell me? I would have been more careful and-"
Yeah⊠Giving Adrien advice definitely hurt me. Seeing how happy Marinette was after he followed my indications to surprise or make her happy made it even worse. But Marinette was happy and Adrien was happy too and I convinced myself that it was enough for me to be happy too (for a while, at leastâŠ).
"I just wished for your happiness, Adrien. My friend's happiness makes me happy tooâ
"But Marinette's not a friend to you. Why did you leave? Sheâs never been the same since you left⊠I couldnât fill in for you in her heartâŠâ
âOne-sided love hurts, Adrien. Itâs like a double-edged blade. You can be happy for the one you love but lonely for not having them by your side as you wishâ
âThatâs- I see⊠It makes senseâŠâ he pauses and looks straight to my eyes. âLuka, do you still love Marinette? Will I be able to understand your feelings better if you two get together? I still love Marinette but Iâve only seen her unhappy since you left and I hate it. Can you make her happy again?â
His green eyes are honest as usual. I keep holding my gaze, never breaking eye contact as I answer his questions.
âAdrien⊠Iâll be honest with you: I love Marinette, Iâve always had. Since the first moment she appeared in front of me, even now. All Iâve ever wished was for her happiness. I confessed to her and she never gave me an answer. She was in love with you. And I was happy for her happiness with you. Thatâs why I left: I didnât want my feelings to interfere with your relationship. I had no chances anyway⊠You know: destiny is supposed to be unavoidable. I could have never imagined you two not getting a fairy-tale-like happily ever afterâ
âBut it happened. Destiny didnât work this time... Why didnât you say goodbye? It broke Marientteâs heart the way you left, I was hurt too. I thought we were friendsâ
âAnd we are friends, Adrien. Wouldnât you have asked me to stay if I had told you? Thatâs why I never did. And then thereâsâŠâ
âThereâs what?â
âI donât know if Marinette has ever told you, but I kissed her. The day before leaving. I know I should have been more considerate about you but I was selfish. I needed to move on and⊠Oh, but she rejected me immediately. âI hate youâ, she told me. How could I stay after that?â
"That's- I see. She never told me that⊠That explains⊠many things, actually⊠But that doesnât change the fact you werenât there for her when she needed you the mostâ
âI left my contact open for her, Adrien, but she never contacted me. Hell. I thought you were married until yesterday!â
âWha- Why? Didnât you see the news? It was everywhere! The press wouldnât stop following us around for a while⊠The gorilla even went to trial for punching one âjournalistâ while protecting meâ
âWow, thatâs rough. Iâm sorry this happened to youâ
âMarinetteâs case was even worse⊠They even managed to sneak into her office. No chill. I think that was the start of her depression⊠Wait! Yours and ChloĂ©âs news was what made them stop, now that I think about it⊠Maybe that was the true reason they left us alone⊠and the true reason after Marinetteâs depression...â
âI didnât know⊠ChloĂ© made sure to hide all those news from meâ
âWhy would she do that?â
âShe did it for you. And for herself. But you should ask her directly. Phew, I was scared to ask but Iâm glad you werenât aware of her plansâ
âWhat plans?â
âYou should ask her about it. I donât know much about them, to be honest, but she wanted to get Marinette back with you and keep me out of your wayâ
I shrug my shoulders and Adrien makes a surprised face that makes me smile.
âChloe⊠never learns, doesnât she?â he says, and I chuckle at his words.
âIsnât that one of her charms?â
âMaybe?â
Itâs nice we can laugh together after all what happened. Iâm happy to have Adrien back as a friend.
âHey, Luka. I want you to be honest with me. Do you love Chloe? What do you plan to do when this is over?â
Iâm not surprised at Adrienâs question. But Iâm not sure what answer he is expecting.
âWhat would you like me to say?â
âTell me your true feelings. Both Marinette and Chloe deserve to be happy. But they both love you and you can only be with one of them. Iâm going to encourage you whatever your decision isâ
Adrien has really matured, hasnât he? Iâm glad weâre on good terms, sincerely speaking, no hard feelings. Just like old times. I guess I missed him too.
âThe truth is⊠I donât know. You all keep saying Marinette has feelings for me but itâs still hard for me to believe it. I don't think I can believe it until I hear it coming out her mouth. But⊠If she really does love me the same way I love her⊠Then Iâm never leaving her side againâ
âSo Marinette will finally get her happiness⊠thatâs good, Iâm relieved. What will you do about Chloe?â
âWeâve already discussed it. Our engagement is practically broken and, as much as it pains me, our relationship canât go on. Iâm sorry. I know sheâs your childhood friendâ
âShe must be very sad and angry now... Iâve never seen her so in love before. You really mean a lot to herâ
âAnd I care for her, too. But MarinetteâŠâ
âYes, I know. Marinette is amazing, isnât she? How can she be so cute and strong at the same time? How can one not fall for her? I donât think I need to tell you this, thoughâ
âCertainly notâ
Funny how we can laugh together about loving the same girl. Iâm glad I got to talk to Adrien from man to man, from friend to friend. I hope we can keep in touch from now on. But I wonât stop him if he ever wants to stop contacting me. Because I did the same at some point and I would understand his reasons.
âWhat are you going to do, Adrien?â
âMe...? Do I have a choice? Marinette has stopped contacting me after we broke up. I doubt she wants to see me anymore. But I canât ignore her when sheâs asking for help. And I want to help you too. Iâll wish her happiness from the shadows, like Iâve been trying to do for a whileâ
âAdrien⊠Donât take it in a bad way, but I donât think thatâs a good idea. Look at me. I had to leave exactly for that same reason. Iâm not saying this out of fear or jealousy, but as a friend: why donât you try to move on? Iâm sure you can find happiness. Youâre young and handsome, and you have one of the purest hearts songs Iâve ever heardâ
âHow do you expect me to forget about Marinette, Luka? You should know that itâs impossible⊠Itâs fine, Iâll live with itâ
Well. I can't disagree with his words. He's totally right. But I still want to support him.
âHey, you can count on me anytime, ok? Iâm sure youâll find the right person when you expect it the least, youâll seeâ
âI donât think so⊠but thanks for your words. Iâm happy to have you as my friendâ
âIâm glad too. Donât worry, it will be fine. You deserve happiness, Adrienâ
Itâs only at this point when I notice the time.
âOh, look at the time. Should we start our strategy meeting?â
âSure, Iâll let Alya and Nino know. Can you get Chloe? I doubt she wants any of us to see her⊠you knowâŠâ
âGot it. Meeting in 10 minutesâ
__________________________________________
As expected, Chloe is crying with her eye mask on at the back of the plane, lying down on her first-class like seat. The bottle of her wine is empty. Great...
âHey honeybee- Chloe!â Damn habits! âItâs time for the strategy meeting. Câmon, show me your faceâ
Wow, her eyes are red and puffy as I remove her eye mask. Can she even stand up? She looks like sheâs about to throw up. Great⊠I bring her a cold towel and a disposable bag and pat her back a little while I check her temperature. No fever at least. Good.
âCâmon Chloe, answer meâ
âIâm not going⊠Let me sleep, snacky. Or kiss me and Iâll go. Yeah, kiss meâŠâ
And there she goes, bawling again. Thatâs why I never let her drink⊠I guess sheâll have to miss the meeting.
âHave some sleep. Iâll explain you the plan when the discussion is overâ
âNo⊠Donât go⊠Stay with me⊠Donât leave meâŠâ
Ah⊠honest Chloe is finally talking. I wish she didnât need the alcohol for that. Crap, since when was her grip that strong? Sheâs not letting go of my jacket. I canât help it but roll my eyes. I kiss her forehead to distract her and remove my jacket. Good thing Iâm fast enough to avoid her catching my shirt next.
âSleep well. See you laterâ
Ah⊠There she goes again- the crying. I wish the pain in my heart could finally end⊠I hate seeing her like that.
But what else can I do? If I have one last chance with Marinette, Iâm definitely not going to waste it.
Wait for us, Marinette. Weâre coming back to you.
_________________
The meeting goes on smoothly. We discuss the essential: how to reach the cave (Adrien has the Miraculous Compass that should lead us there), which Miraculous could be used and how to act in any case (keeping special attention to the absolute power of creation and destruction Miraculous used together and the rabbit Miraculous, which was most likely the one planned to be used), and finally, how to proceed if anything goes unplanned.
One more thing is decided: the team will be led by me. Iâm not really comfortable giving commands, but I guess the cause requires some leadership, and with my experience with the snake Miraculous, Adrien, Nino, and Alya all agree Iâm the best fit for that role. I have no choice but to accept. Failure is not an option.
Thereâs something more to take into consideration: Alyaâs state. She has just had a baby and her body is not ready for harsh action, so I need to make sure she has a back-up role, nothing dangerous.
We come to an agreement that what we must try first is to stop Marinette from using the rabbit Miraculous. And, if we canât stop her at step 1, stop her at step 2, before she can enter the time portal. Itâs game over if she gets in.
No resets available- a one chance mission.
We canât afford to lose.
And in case absolute power is called⊠We don't have much knowledge about it, but weâll have to try to remove her Miraculous or make her pass out before she can ask for her wish. Nino, Adrien, and I should have enough strength to stop her and carry out the mission- if there are no surprises. And if it fails, Alya is carrying some chloroform to make her sleep in a few seconds - or at least thatâs how it works in movies, according to Nino.
After setting the plan, I return to Chloeâs side and try to get some more sleep. I tell her about the plan, and she just nods âWhy didnât you give me a role?â she asks, but I have no answer to that. I guess I canât trust her around Marinette⊠But I better not tell her that. I already feel bad. I really don't want to hurt her unnecessarily any further.
At this point, Iâm not sure why I keep looking after Chloe this much. Is it because of love? Pity? Remorse? Worry? Habits? Ugh⊠Habits can really be bad, canât they? Here am I, holding her hand at her sleep again. I really should stop this⊠but my eyelids are so heavyâŠ
âLanding in 10 minutesâ
I shake at the call and get Chloe on her seat, fasten our seatbelts, and get ready for imminent landing. Poor Chloe is not even awake, sheâll surely get surprised when we touch the floor.
âUaAh!!â
See? What a jump! I canât stop laughing at her reaction. And now sheâs angry and embarrassed. Cute.
âStop laughing!â
Oh. She should know at this point this only makes me laugh louder. ChloĂ© is funny. Not the same funny as Marinette, but still funny. Damn⊠I miss Marinette's laugh and funny actions⊠But maybe I shouldnât think of her now that I have a deadly glare on me. I can feel a chill going down my spine. Chloe can be really scary when sheâs angry...
______________________
And we finally arrive at the Temple of the Miraculous.
It's good Adrien's Compass is working well. And it's also a good thing Adrien can speak Chinese because we would be screwed otherwise. But Adrien's translation gives us some bad news.
âWe canât go to the caveâŠâ
âWhat!? Why not, bro?â
âOnly the Guardian can enter the cave⊠Unless the guardian is with us, we canât go in. And they said Marinette is already inside⊠so the gate is closed againâ
Silence surrounds us for a moment, until Alya breaks it to speak- shout.
âNo! This canât be!! What are we going to do now!? Iâve never heard of anything like this in my research! There has to be a way! We can't just stay here and do nothing!â
âI know Alya⊠But I have an idea⊠I donât know if it will work but⊠It may take us at least one or two days too... but maybeâŠâ
Adrien doesnât look confident, but we donât have any other ideas, so itâs worth giving it a try. I want to do anything to save Marinette. Hell. We must save her at any cost!
âItâs ok, Adrien! Tell us! We need to rescue Marinette!â
God, did I sound as desperate as I am? Itâs difficult to keep my cool when itâs Marinette related stuff, even if Iâm trying hard. Yep, Chloeâs glare confirms it⊠Desperate. Of course I am! What do you expect? Shit. Focus, Luka! I need to pay attention to what Adrien has to say.
âListen. I know the previous guardian of the Miraculous, Master Fu. Heâs the one that entrusted me and Marinette our Miraculous at firstâ
âGood, we have a guardian then. Where is this Fruit person?â
âChloe, show some respectâ I warn her. âTell us, Adrienâ
âThatâs the bad thing⊠Heâs in London but⊠he lost his memories after passing the Miraculous box to Marinette. He doesnât have his knowledge anymoreâŠâ
Everyone becomes quiet, pensative, and Alya is once again the one to break the silence.
âWhat are we going to do, then!?â
All looks focus back on Adrien and he starts talking again. Everyone is listening to him carefully.
âI have a plan. Weâll go get him anyway first. Weâll take him in front of the monks of the Temple, and explain the situation. Maybe⊠if anyone here recognizes him, an exception can be made for us. I would destroy that stupid door if I had my Cataclysm, but it seems Master Fu is our only chance. What do you say?â
âWell⊠itâs uncertain and risky, but we have no choice. We should leave as soon as we can. No time to wasteâ
âBut weâve just arrived! Donât be ridiculous, babyâ
âNino, Alya and Chloe can stay here. Adrien and I will go get himâ I tell them and they nod. Except Chloe⊠as expected.
âOh no! No way! If youâre going Iâm going too!â
âChloe, donât be childish. Stay and wait here. Try to find out as much as you can about the Temple, the cave and the miraculous meanwhile. Will be back soonâ
âHEY!â
Chloe tries to follow us but is stopped by Nino, who wishes us a safe flight.
âTake care and good luckâ
And there we go, Adrien and I rushing to the plane once again.
Next stop: London
______________________
It wasnât easy to convince Master Fu to come with us when he canât remember Adrien, but somehow we managed to after insisting for a whole two days. Well, Adrien did, as expected.
After using one of the Zodiac Miraculous, one of the monks recognized Master Fu, and lent him one of the Miraculous with memory-related powers.
And old Master Fu was back. Along with his knowledge.
The old man cried and apologized to the monks for his mistake when he was young, and then to Adrien, for leaving them alone against Hawk Moth. Adrien then explained the situation with Marinette to Master Fu but the shock of what was happening was too big for him and he passed out for some hours.
As soon as he recovered he rushed to the gate to open the door, but nothing: memories and knowledge weren't enough to open the gate. He needed to become the guardian again, so they started a ritual to give him the guardian status permanently. The ritual took a few days⊠and we finally made it. Just in time: day 6.
Finally! Waiting while unable to do anything was frustrating and stressful.
Will we make it on time?
We need to hurry.
And it looks like a joke how easily the Master could open the gate to enter the cave after having his previous status back. We had tried everything and nothing. And yet, with one sole finger, Master Fu could completely open it. The power of the Guardian is surely impressive.
I nod to the team and we hurry inside, each one of us carrying a torch. Nino is taking care of Alya, who at the same time is looking up for Master Fu. Adrien is slightly in front of me and Chloe is grabbing my jacket from behind, scared of the dark. We move deeper into the cold darkness that surrounds us, guided only by Adrienâs compass.
Here we go, Marinette. Please, wait a little longer.
Donât leave us. Donât leave me!
___________________________
Torches guide us through darkness and we finally arrive at the room the Miraculous rest in. My throat hurts like hell from the shouting, but I donât care if Iâm not able to sing ever again: Marinette is much more important than that to me.
And there she is, in her rabbit miraculous suit and in front of the time portal: Marinette Dupain-Cheng.
I can only see her from afar but she looks beautiful in that suit⊠ long ears on her head and a cute ponytail. Wow. But now is not the time to admire her beauty. We must stop her before she disappears forever!
I'm so relieved we made it on time before she acts. It was a good thing Adrienâs plan about Master Fu worked. We made it barely on time, but on time, nevertheless. But we need to hurry. And I run, closer to her, still shouting.
Meeting Marinetteâs eyes sparks something in me that seemed forgotten for a long time.
I love her. I love her so much.
How can I be without her now that I've met her again?
I can't.
My feelings are as strong than ever. My heart-beat is beating fast and is at this point when I want to believe she feels the same way the most.
I need to know. Iâm ready to give everything else up for her. Canât you see it, Marinette? Iâve never stopped loving you!
I can see how she's trying to run away from us, moving inside the time portal.
Shit! I wonât make it on time. I need to try to stop her with my words.
âMarinette⊠Marinette, please, stop! Donât go in there, I beg you! Don't you have something to tell me? Let me listen to it from yourself, with your voice! Let me see your face so I can dare to believe it! Don't make me go after you across that portal or wherever youâre going toâ
She seemed to be about to listen to me but her face suddenly lost her light. What happened? How could I let her become so sad? Is it my fault? I don't want her to go.
So I ran towards her, the fastest I can.
"GoodbyeâŠ" she says in an almost inaudible voice.
âNO!! Marinette!!!!"
And she slips through my fingers- just like the time we've been apart: lost forever.
No! No! No! DAMN IT! Was I late again? This canât be! Please⊠I was so close!!
And just like that, all hope disappears from my heart. Broken again. Even worse than she told me âI hate youâ.
I still wanted to apologize to her⊠To tell her so many things⊠To ask if itâs true I can have a future with her⊠but the portal in front of me is blank and my tears wonât stop falling like waterfalls. Any question is pointless now⊠I wish I could have apologized in front of herâŠ
"Marinette⊠Sorry for being absent for so long. Iâm sorry I left... Iâm sorry for being selfishâŠIâm back now. Please⊠Come back⊠Is it too late...? Please⊠Please!â
I can feel the rest of the team sobbing with me, as I beg to Marinette to come back. I appreciate Adrienâs hand on my shoulder, in support, but the pain Iâm feeling now is unbearable.
I failed⊠it's over...
I take a final hopeless look at the portal, waiting for something magical to come and erase us. But I find something unexpected instead: HOPE.
Marinetteâs long rabbit ears from her magical suit are slightly coming out of the portal, which means- sheâs still here.
Itâs not over yet! Iâm not giving up. Hell no!
NEVER AGAIN.
But I need to be careful with my wordsâŠ
âMarinette⊠I know you can still hear me from the inside⊠Please, come out. We're here for you. Please⊠Come backâŠ"
Iâm not sure what the best words to convince her would be (I've never been good with words), but I have to try with what Iâve got. Sheâs not answering, as expected. Is she considering getting out or sheâs already moving towards a new timeline? Her ears are not visible anymore, so I can't know. But Iâm not willing to wait to find out. Yes, I can be impatient too- why does everyone seem surprised?
âYou donât want to come out? Very well, I'm coming in, then! Iâll get you out of here even if you donât want me to. Excuse my rudeness, but you leave me no choiceâ
And her hands appear in front of me to stop my actions, just as my hand is about to touch the portal.
I hold a gasp when master Fu explains what happens to those who enter the portal without a magical suit.Â
I didnât know that.Â
Not that I care about disintegrating- Marinetteâs more important than myself at this point, and I donât mind disappearing if her existence banishes from this world as well.
How I'm supposed to be happy in a world without Marinette, anyway? It's impossible.
And my heart gets filled with something warm the moment I can finally touch her hands. My long fingers find their way to lock with hers and Iâve never been more relieved than the moment she falls into my arms, after I pull her out of the magical time hole.
I missed her so much⊠Can I keep holding her forever? Can I be selfish this time? I'm so glad she's safeâŠ
I thought I could feel her corresponding my feelings: love, need, comfort, relief⊠but I must have misunderstood again, because the sweetest dream becomes a nightmare the moment she speaks againâŠ
âPlagg, Tikki, unifyâ
The darkest nightmare.

Jensen Ackles: A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words
*Not My GIF* Holy Fuck That Smile At The EndÂ
Pairing: Jensen x Reader *I have nothing against Jensen and Danneel Ackles. This is only for the sake of a Fanfiction*Â
Pov: ReaderâsÂ
Warnings: Sadness, Being a little lonely, Cute Jensen, Texting, and Calling each other Angst a little.Â
Rating: Adult MatureÂ
Summary: After Covid19 Jensen still has to go back to set and record the rest of the âSupernaturalâ episodes. While heâs away Y/n and him message everyday, and call every night. Jensen will sometimes send pictures of just him, or of Jared, Misha, and him.Â
Word Count: 1,243
God, I really missed him. We'd had spent almost 6 months together. Just me and my hubby. Me and MY cuddle muffin, Me and my little spoon. A cold, big bed sucked horribly to be sleeping alone in it.
Jensen had left over a week ago. The first week I spent cleaning up the house making sure everything was put back into its place. I also spent a lot of time just gettin' the sun and swimming in our pool outback. Every morning I went for a run, making me be able to get through the day with a nice crash at the end of the night, on-again my cold, empty, big bed.
Jensen had gone back to the supernatural set to record the last 2 episodes of the shows final season. Durin' the time we spent together alone at home, we had many conversations about finally starting a family, but only we knew the show was coming to end to that Jensen would be there for the kids and be able to create memories with them and for them. Instead of being stuck in a different place and time zone and not being able to spend that time with his family.
Hubby<3- Good Morninâ Baby girl. Howâd you sleep?      Â
Y/n- I slept pretty good, I wish you were next to me instead of being alone in this darn bed. Oh and good morning to you too!           Â
Y/n- Howâs your day going? Probably lotâs of filming right?
Hubby<3- Baby I wish I was there too, My day itâs going well I have had a few shoots. Misha, jared, and I are going out to have dinner later on tonight.Â
Y/n-Â Aww, really tell them that I miss them, and you better be safe honey. I miss you too like really badly.
Hubby<3-Â
Hubby<3- I miss you most. Whatâs my baby girls plan for the rest of the day?Â
Y/n- Iâm gonna take a bath, then maybe go shopping.Â
Hubby<3- Wish I could join you in that bath baby!Â
Y/n-Â
Y/n- This tub seems so much bigger now!
Hubby<3- Oh come on you know that this isnât fair.Â
I was and still am the very best tease I think Jensen has ever encountered. So with Jensen being gone for such long times. I thought I would kinda just do whatever I needed to do to you know keep my sanity. I havenât told Jensen but I.... We are getting a dog.Â
Later on that night
Hubby<3- Iâm so happy! One day less until I can come home to my sweet sweet wife.Â
Y/n- Just One day less Honey. I really canât wait to be in your arms again
Hubby<3- Call me!
Having to stop what I was doing I pressed the call button. The phone didn't even ring for more than a few seconds before Jensen was on the other side of the phone greeting me with hellos and what did you do today questions.Â
I will say the minute I heard his voice, my own voice became very timid, and sounded as if I was going to cry. I guess Jensen heard it.Â
âBaby are you okay?âÂ
âYeah, I'm fine.I just havenât talked to you in a few days and I really miss you.â A stray tear rolling down my face thinking about not having him around me on a daily basis.
âHow about I tell you a few stupid things that happened here on set today? Would that maybe cheer my baby girl up?âÂ
âSure Iâd love to hear about your day!â I said wiping the tear that had made its way down to my chin away. The wetness of the tear now annoying my skin.Â
âSo of course Jared had to be a complete and utter dumbass. fucking around with Misha. Misha and I were trying to do a emotional scene and Misha couldnât keep in character because of Jared stupid attentics. Jared was than asked very nicely to leave set and go to his trailer. You would think at this point of working with Jared for so many years that Misha would just learn to ignore it.â
âOh christ, How old is Jared again?â I said my voice a little bit more happier than pryer. Jensen talking always makes me happy no matter where we are. He could talk and it would make me fall asleep. But tonight I have something to tell him too.Â
âJared, oh heâs totally like 5.â Jensen said with a chuckle at the end.
âI.. um have something to tell you.âÂ
âOkay shoot.â Jensen said probably pacing around the small apartment he had in Vancouver. He gets worried a lot, so maybe the idea of telling him now isnât the best.Â
âAre you pregnant?â Jensen said while I was in my train of thought. Just has quickly has are you pregnant came out of his mouth No came out of mine.Â
âNo, Itâs something else but itâs just as good! and you canât get mad when I tell you what it is.âÂ
âWell, Okay I promise not to get mad, but what did you do Y/n?â Jensen saidÂ
âI may have gotten a pet.â I said with sarcasm lacing my tongue.
âBe. More. Specific. Y/n.â Jensen said his tone turning not into anger but getting agitated with the fact that I hadnât yet told him what I had done. Â
âFine Jensen I will be more specific. I got a dog, well actually itâs a puppy.âÂ
It was quiet for a minute. And then everything that I wasnât expecting happened. He just fucking ended the call! I went back to text and sent a few messages.Â
Y/n- Did you just end out call???
Y/n- Jensen, itâs a dog thats all. I need company when you arenât here. I need something to keep from being upset when my Husband leave to go to work.Â
Y/n- You know what just be mad than Jensen. Good night Jensen.Â
Setting my phone down on the coffee table face down. Trying to grasp the reason for why he had ended the call, why he had gotten so mad. You know what itâs not important why he got mad. Iâm going to sit here with Ross watch some shows on Netflix, and be happy.
My phone buzzed on the table. I really tried to ignore it, but I knew it was Jensen so I couldnât just ignore him, heâs my husband for god sake.Â
Hubby<3- Why didnât we talk about this before you just went ahead and did something?
Y/n- Why? Why because I thought youâd understand my reasoning and that youâd end up loving the dog in the long run. How mad are you at me?Â
Y/n- This is Ross btw.
Hubby>3- Wait. Whatâs his name?Â
Y/n- Ross, I gave him your middle name so even if you werenât here with me. I still had apart of you with me.Â
Hubby<3- I wasnât mad. I just guess I wasnât ready for you to say you got a dog. I guess I just really wanted to do it with you, and thank you baby I do really think heâs cute.Â
Y/n- He is, and from now on we always check with each other on things. Make sure neither one of us wanted to do, or already has planned something. I love you Jensen.
Hubby<3- I love you too y/n. Now call me back, actually Facetime me. I wanna see my son. â„â„â„

I fell by the wayside like everyone else
You should have known, it wouldn't have worked out. You knew, about his track record with relationships, nothing bad, on his part at least, but many of them hardly lasted a year. Yours with him last just over a year, before it became too much. You and Henry spent more time arguing about things, than actually being boyfriend and girlfriend. So, you broke it off with him.
I hate you, I hate you, I hate you, but I was just kidding myself
You had tried to convince yourself that you hated him, it felt like he had ripped your heart out, but you were the one that broke up with him, you were the one that ripped his heart out, he begged you not to break up with him, that he'd do whatever it took to keep you, but you didn't.
Our every moment, I start to replace
'Cause now that they're gone, all I hear are the words that I needed to say
Once you moved out of his place, you started over, you didn't take anything that made you think of him, which was ninety percent of everything you owned. You spent so much time mourning those things though, at least they would have been a distraction from all the imaginary conversations you had with Henry in your head, or out loud, in the middle of the night, in the dark bedroom in your flat, laying in your ice-cold bed, without the heat of his body against yours. All the words you wish you had said to him, the ones you needed to say and get off your chest, but it was too late now.
When you hurt under the surface
Both of you were putting up a fake front in front of everyone, family, friends, fans and co-workers. Brushing off their repeated tries to ask if you were all right.
âNo, I'm over him. I've moved on, I went out on a date with someone last night!â You told one of your co-workers, two months after the break-up, which was a total lie; the only date you had the night before, was with a bottle of wine, on your couch, watching sappy Romance movies, where the couple always got back together, in the end.
âI'm fine, I'm respecting her decision and I'll work through it.â Henry told his brother as they talked on the phone, for the millionth time
Like troubled water running cold
Neither of you could function properly, without the other.
Well, time can heal, but this won't
It had been six months, You and Henry still hadn't gotten over each other. So many nights spent typing out mile long text messages, apologizing for breaking up or begging to be taken back, before deleting them. Close calls, dialing the other's phone number, while going on a serious pub crawl with friends. Time was not making it easier to get over the relationship, it was only making the pain worse.
Was there something I could've said to make your heart beat better?
The first text sent between the two of you in the dark and lonely months apart. Sent at three in the morning, after laying in bed, staring up at the ceiling with his thumb poised over the send button, before finally managing it, and almost crying, when he saw the notification that you had read it two minutes later; laying awake, doing the same thing he was, but, you left him on read, as you cried yourself to sleep.
If only I'd have known you had a storm to weather
Almost a year after the break-up, you learned Henry had been struggling with an issue, that you had no idea about, and it crushed you. You had broken up with him at the height of his struggle with it. You had been so selfish and didn't know his struggle, and left him cold and unsupported, in the middle of it.
Was there something I could've said to make it all stop hurting?
You asked him, as soon as he opened the door of the mews, tears already in your eyes, realizing how, absolutely stupid, you had been with the man that you loved more than anyone in life, who you had crushed in his weakest moment, instead of helping hold him up. Henry crushed you against his body and sobbed with you, pulling you backwards into the house and shoving the door closed, sniffling into your neck.
It kills me how your mind can make you feel so worthless
You told him, knowing how he had felt worthless from all the criticism he had gotten for his movie project, only wounding that insecurity he already had as a child. âWhy didn't you told me?â
Was never the right time, whenever you called
He answered, only pulling back from you a little bit.
Went little by little by little until there was nothing at all
âAnd you were gone.â he explained to you, brushing his fingers through your hair.
Our every moment, I start to replay
It didn't matter, choices were made and he respected your choice to cut him out of your life. So, he made the choice to keep loving you, from afar. You looked up at him, with tenderhearted love.
But all I can think about is seeing that look on your face
He said, smiling down at you, his fingers brushing against your cheek and through your hair, his heart fluttering and skipping beats.
Would we be better off by now, If I'd have let my walls come down?
You asked him, unable to help yourself as you hugged your arms around his waist and pressed your cheek to his chest, never wanting to let go of him again. You had been afraid to really let Henry in the first time, maybe if you had, you would have seen his struggle and worked through it with him.
Maybe, I guess we'll never know
He replied, hugging you against him, content to never let you go again, either. Both of you decided to work it out between you and got back together, striving to get it right and let each other in, never hiding that storm that you might be weathering; weathering it together.

a little drabble inspired by this message from @fourdrinkamyâ ant how big and alert macâs eyes are!! i'm gonna go cry again
itâs crazy that waking up at 6.30am is considered a lie in for him now. with a newborn, who is half-santiago, long gone are the days heâd sleep in til noon. most days heâs up before itâs even light outside. his coffee intake has more than quadrupled, but itâs totally worth it to hang out with the baby they wanted for so long.
his bed is empty, which is a little unusual. amy likes to stay in bed with mac in the mornings and snuggle under the covers and finish last nightâs crossword together (she gives him the clues and pretends he knows the answer, booping him on his lil nose before filling in the appropriate boxes) (itâs the cutest thing in the entire world).
he fumbles for the baby monitor on his nightstand, blindly turning it on. it crackles, then he hears amyâs laughter.
heâs always loved her laugh. the way her eyes crinkle in the corners, the way she tilts her head, the way she keeps a not-so-secret note in her phone of the funniest things heâs said (she started it when he was in florida) (it was rosaâs idea to help ease the pain of missing him) (whenever he catches her adding to it he falls in love even more and gets brainstorming on the next joke).
he still thinks about their undercover date as johnny and dora when she said him making her laugh was how she knew he was the one. heâs always been the class clown (or now, precinct clown) (terry literally hired him to be a clown at cagney and laceyâs 3rd birthday party) but ever since he met her outside that elevator, heâs really only cared about making one person laugh.
her.
thrilled that their son has inherited his comedic talents, and already missing his 2 favourite people, he hops out of bed and heads for the nursery, leaning against the door frame to take in the tableau.
amy is in the rocking chair her mom and dad gave them (it was the one they used for all their babies and as amy was their only daughter, they thought it was the perfect baby gift), mac swaddled in her arms. she has her phone out, showing him something, and macâs big, alert eyes are staring right at it, a tiny baby smile tracing his lips.
âthought we had a no screen time before 9am rule?â
she glances up at him, her own smile widening. âi guess motherhood has turned me into a rebelâ
âoh yeah, youâre a total rebelâ he teases, thinking back to yesterday when they went to ikea for some finishing touches to the nursery and she made him walk all the way round to go back and get something they forgot, just so they werenât walking against the direction of the arrows. âwhatâs so important that itâs got you breaking rules, santiago?â
âoh, nothingâ she shrugs, acting cool. âjust showing him some picturesâ
he narrows his eyes suspiciously. call it detective intuition. âwhat pictures?â
âjust some ones of you, doesnât matterâ
he pieces together the final piece of the puzzle (metaphorically, of course, because he always loses at least one piece and it drives amy crazy that they can never finish a 2,000 piece puzzle that theyâve spent days working on). âYOUâRE SHOWING HIM THE NOSE RING PHOTO!â
âwhat? noâ she says way too quick and he can see through her lies like the perp he arrested last week that denied stabbing a guy, despite holding a knife and being covered in blood
âyou swore you would never tell anyone!â
âand iâve kept that promise all these years! i just got my phone out to take a picture of him making a cute face and then my phone said my storage was full, you know, because iâve been taking so many pictures of him, and then i was going back and deleting stuff from my camera roll when i found itâ
âi have never felt more betrayed. and by my own wifeâ he makes a noise of disgust
âiâm sorry, babe, but itâs just so funny. he loves it, lookâ
he walks over to them and watches as amy swipes right to a random picture of some binders and then left, back to the nose ring photo, macâs face lighting up at the offending image
âyou think laughing at daddy is cool, pal?â he points an accusing finger at mac who makes a gurgling happy sound (thatâs not quite a laugh yet, but is the closest baby version to it and is his new favourite sound in the world) (even better than taylorâs bridge in last kiss and the way amy says his name whenever heâs done something sweet)
âonly when he has long hair and a nose ringâ amy responds on macâs behalf
âhilariousâ he deadpans, rolling his eyes. he cut his hair years ago and yet his wife will not let him live it down
âyou tell him embarrassing stories about me!â she cries
âamy, all your embarrassing stories are that you got an a- on a test once or you solved a case in two weeks instead of one or your ponytail wasnât quite as shiny as it usually is. itâs not nose ring level embarrassingâ
âfine,â she concedes âi apologise, i wonât bring it up again. unless he wants a nose ring, in which case it is my duty as his mom to show him how dumb heâd lookâ
âfine,â he agrees, ignoring the hurtful comment. he actually looked super cool and he scored one whole date because of the nose ring until it got infected and he had to take it out and the girl was no longer interested. whatever. her loss. he ended up with his dream girl anyway
âwant to hold him and make friends again while i go change into something not covered in baby spit-up?â
âalways.â he carefully accepts the precious cargo, bouncing him gently in his arms. he kisses amy before she leaves the room, squashing mac in between them, and spends the next 20 minutes showing mac all his amy photos, the 9am rule be damned
(yeah, heâs a rebel too. he once had a freakinâ nose ring)
when amy returns in clean clothes and her natural curls that she hasnât bothered taming since mac was born, she raises her eyebrows. âshowing him embarrassing photos of me? low blow, peraltaâ
âiâm actually not, santiago,â he says snarkily, then murmurs âi couldnât find anyâ under his breath
âthen why have you still got a screen in front of him?â she rests one hand on her hip
âiâm showing him normal pictures of you. he needs to see how pretty his mom is, babe! itâs a rite of passage! like a bar mitzvahâ
she gets this soft look on his face despite herself and he would pat himself on the back if he werenât holding his son
âfor the record,â he adds, âhe thinks his mom is suuuuper pretty. the prettiest mom in the entire worldâ
âhe told you that did he?â she laughs
âmm-hmm. weâre bros so he confided in me, he probably wouldnât say it again while youâre around but heâs definitely thinking itâ
âwell thank you my little macaroni,â she coos and honest to god, the nickname (of his nickname) was only supposed to be a joke at first, but now itâs kind of stuck and their entire family are calling him macaroni
(charles loves it)
(the first time hitchcock and scully heard it, on the other hand, they thought someone had brought in a delicious bowl of macaroni and cheese and were highly disappointed that they were just talking about the baby again, storming back to their desks in a huff)
âi think youâre very handsome too, mr macâ
âi told you, ames. heâs liquid fire. liquid. fire.â
she laughs again and mac gurgles and he thinks that if he can spend his entire life doing that, making his 2 favourite people laugh, then theyâre going to be ok

If ânot forgettingâ was the prerequisite for âhaving memoriesâ, what was a âmemoryâ once forgotten called?
I roamed my thoughts, not telling anyone about the ârecollectionsâ that I seemed dangerously close to losing.
The âgoodbyesâ that seemed to burn our chests, the miraculous âreunionsâ, the âfutureâ that weâd reached our hands out to while readying ourselves for certain death â no matter how much we cherished them, itâd be a disappointment if we ended up forgetting everything.
âForgettingâ didnât leave even loneliness behind. As if nothing had ever existed from the very beginning, the forgotten recollection would lose even the name âmemoryâ and be gone without a trace. It was an utterly absurd story. No matter how dear our memories were to us, we couldnât build a fence around them. We would fail to recall even the reasons to try remembering âmemoriesâ that were truly forgotten.
Right, we were there because weâd been âcontinuously forgettingâ. By stepping over the dead bodies of memories that we couldnât remember, we were moving forward one way or another.
That was the only thing I didnât want to forget.
âHe~y, you awake?â an insensitive voice echoed through the madder-red-dyed classroom.
Sitting in the last row next to the window and having been watching the slowly darkening diorama-like cityscape, I turned toward the owner of the voice. Illuminated by sunset glow, Ayanoâs face was openly peeking at me from the seat in front of mine.
For starters, it was all too questionable that the concept of âsleepâ would exist in this ambiguous world, where we were both alive and dead, so I wondered if she was joking.
No, that was suspicious. She didnât seem to be thinking anything.
âThere anyone who sleeps with their eyes closed?â as I asked rudely, I turned back to the cityscape out the window.
At the corner of my line of sight, Ayano shrank back a little. Seeing her that way, it looked to me like Ayano had started to get a slight inkling of things. I wasnât trying to be mean to her or anything, but to be frank, I was irritated.
âC-Could it be... youâre angry at me for not going to you for advice?â Ayano asked with upturned eyes, stirring lightly in dread.
âAbout what?â
âErm, like... I came over here by myself without asking for your opinion.â Hanging her head after saying so, Ayano flickeringly peeked at my complexion.
Well, she was mostly right.
At the very least, I didnât hate her. Sheâd seemed friendly with me for some reason, and it hadnât been just one or two times that Iâd watched over her studies. Of course, given that we were a guy and a girl, I thought it was appropriate for each of us to keep a secret or two from one another. But even if that much was okay, as friends, I totally thought we had a relationship where one could rely on the other and be relied on whenever we were faced with great distress.
Still, this.
Hn, well~, there sure are things about her that Iâve never heard of from the Mekakushi-dan guys! Why, she went around on her own to investigate Clearing, and dear me, all her younger siblings had superhuman abilities, so she tried to enter Kagerou Daze alone after making up her mind â the more I dig, the more bargain sales I get of stuff I was never told before.
No, it wasnât like I was vexed that she had kept it all a secret from me, or that I wanted to know Ayano through and through, or anything of the sort. Absolutely not. Itâs just that, as her friend, I felt resentment at how she had done things in a reckless way without taking herself into consideration.
When I glanced at her, Ayano reacted to my gaze and her body shrank back uneasily.
Dammit... Acting like a little puppy...!
Trying to take advantage of my conscience would get her nowhere. Who knew how badly my heart had ached because of her during these two years?
Other men might end up easily forgiving you, but Shintarou-san isnât the kind of skirt chaser whoâd yield to that. Shintarou-sanâs been severe lately.
âWell, things are the way they are. Even if I judge you at this point of the game, thereâs no helping them.â
How regretful. Shintarou-san does wind up easily forgiving a girl when she fidgets at him.
Perhaps thinking that I was going to scold her or something, Ayano stared blankly at me for a bit, and then gave a faint smile, looking apologetic. âYouâre as nice as ever. Thatâs why you ended up here, Shintarou.â
âShaddap. Youâre the same as me, arenât you?â leaving my inward gags aside, I used rude language to dodge the embarrassing mood.
My bodily sense of time told me that it had been approximately one or two days ever since I was swallowed by Kagerou Daze. Still, in an environment where I could get neither sleepy nor hungry, there was probably not much meaning in relying on body sensations.
According to Haruka-senpai, there was a huge gap between here and outside regarding the flow of time. I had a rough idea of it from listening to Hibiya talk about how âthe same day had repeated over and overâ, and sure enough, there was no logic or reason to it. It indeed didnât seem like I had been wrong about this being a world removed from common sense.
âBut I was really surprised. To think Shintarou would be fighting together with everyone.â
âI was the last person who couldâve imagined something like that. Working my ass off to read deep into things for someone elseâs sake just isnât like me...â
âNope, youâre wrong. I donât know why, but Iâve always felt that itâd turn out like this. That Shintarou would do his best to protect everyone.â Ayano added, âThatâs why I couldnât tell you anythingâ at the end, shying out.
So she had expected that Iâd fight.
Well, it wouldnât not be inevitable that Iâd get myself involved in this as long as Momo was an Ability User, but she shouldnât know that Momo was an Ability User in the first place. If so, I couldnât believe right off the bat that she had anticipated things would turn out like this, since I was âsomeone unrelatedâ to her in the end.
Hm. Wait a minute. Hahaan, donât tell me...
âCould this be consolation for a ânon-Ability-Userâ like me?â
By some sort of karma, everyone Iâd been involved with in high school had become an Ability User. Yet I was the only one who was still a newborn Bambi until now. I didnât think hatefully of that, but I wondered if she didnât think of me as inconvenient, since I was the sole person who hadnât gotten his hands on an Ability out of our group of four friends.
Regardless, Ayano responded to my sarcasm-mixed words by shaking her head furiously. âI-Iâm serious! I saw Shintarou fighting even in my dreams!â
âHoh, what kinda dream was that?â
âErm. One where Shintarou was standing coolly in front of everyone and flashily defeating the boss. You were wearing a bright red full-body unitard with the sunset on your back, saying, âSorry for the wait! Hereâs the unmatched super hero!â and swinging an iron ball with a chain...â
âWait, wait, wait, wait!! What sorta perverted bastard is that?!! That ainât related to Abilities by a single millimeter, and actually, it didnât become true at all, did it?!â
Halfway tending to trip, Ayano, who had been imagining me swinging around an iron ball, abruptly returned to reality. âThatâs true. Gee, I wonder if it was in a different dream...â
âMore like, just how often have you dreamed of me...?â
It was repulsive to think that I played an active role inside her brain clad in a transformation suit of sorts. Nevertheless, Ayano herself said something spine-chilling, like, âM-Mightâve been pretty often...â with her face turning red for some reason.
âB-But yâknow, there are many Eye Abilities, so itâs not weird that thereâs a power like sharing a future, is it?â
âWell, I wouldnât be surprised no matter what comes up at this point, but are you the Ability User who can see this future?â
âNo way! Iâm totally not that!â resolutely denying it, Ayano made an X using her arms with a smack.
âThen isnât this theory a bust?! Donât try to justify the version of me thatâs haunting your brain. First things first, take off the unitard!â
âEeh?! If the unitard is off, the cool part is gone...â
âEh, then wasnât I unnecessary from the start?â
How tiring.
Aah, I was remembering it. Youâd need a huge amount of effort to talk to her; about as much as when talking to Ene. It was a meaningless conversation, almost as if we were speaking just for the sake of âspeakingâ... Not knowing to settle her tone down even after dying made her a terrifying fellow.
But these arenât pointless conversations like the ones of back then, I guess.
Precisely because she had died, she had played a major role in the fight of the outside world. As proof of this, she earlier had talked about what had been concerning her for a bit.
Praying that it wouldnât be a fruitless conversation, I opened my mouth, âJust now, you said your Ability isnât the power to see the future, right?â
âAh, yup. I did.â
âThen, what Ability did you get?â
Silence.
âAah, thatâs right! I had to talk about it!!â Pushing the chair with a clatter, Ayano stood up all of a sudden with vehement vigor.
âHyan!!â and I, exceptionally surprised by it, fell backward while letting out an uncanny cry. Splendidly hit the back of my head. If this werenât the inside of Kagerou Daze, it wouldâve been an accidental homicide.
âUwaah! Sorry, sorry! Well, about the Abilities...â
âW-Wait a minute, your tempo is too fast; at least lemme fix up the chair.â I frantically got up from the floor, putting the chair back in place with a rattle.
Just trying to have a proper conversation with her was that exhausting. Most likely, by the time she finished introducing the topic, my soul would have eroded and disappeared.
âWell, then.â
âYeah.â
We pulled ourselves together and re-started the conversation.
âI think itâs better for me to begin explaining from the time I came to this world... to Kagerou Daze.â
âSure. Got any confidence that you can explain it decently?â
âN-Not much, but... Iâll do my best.â
Thatâs the spirit. Letâs hear it.
âSee, itâs about the day... when I did that thing on the rooftop.â
âW-Wait a minute. Canât you stop talking this way? Itâs too lighthearted, kinda likeââ
âGeez~, and here Iâd finally come up with a good explanation! Be quiet and listen!â Ayano flat and moderately hit the desk.
She was mad at me. I listened in silence.
âRight after I entered Kagerou Daze... I met a girl named Azami.â
âAzamiâ. The originator who had birthed the Abilities and the first victim of Clearingâs plot.
I used to have no idea about what had happened to Azami herself after she transferred Abilities to people on the outside, but this meant that she had been staying in Kagerou Daze while retaining her consciousness. I couldnât think that Ayano would lie on purpose. If they had met, then that was probably the case.
âShe was really weak. Until that point, sheâd been existing as a spiritual body with the power of Stirring, which she gave to Takane-san, but then it was gone too, so it seemed she was at her limit.â
âI... see. So Enomoto became Ene after that.â
âYep, yep. My, how can I put it...? Takane-san got a-all bright after that, huh?â Ayano seemed to be choosing her words most carefully out of respect for our senior, but as expected, the strain at the edge of her lips didnât fool anyone.
Rejoice, Enomoto; your dear junior saw it all.
Perhaps having noticed my grin, Ayano said, âL-Letâs leave that asideâ and resumed the talk, tending to tumble. âAfter losing her physical and spiritual body, Azami had only one power left. That was the Ability I received,â saying so, Ayano pointed at the corner of her eye.
âThe last one... I also didnât know about this.â
The âTen Abilitiesâ cited in Azamiâs diary were mostly referenced by name. However, no matter how many times I counted, there were only nine names in it. Those nine Abilities applied to the powers residing in the people outside. In other words, the one residing inside Ayano was the Tenth Ability, which hadnât been listed in the diary.
Tapping with the finger that was aimed at herself, Ayano spoke with slightly wavering words, âThis is a bit of a weird Ability. Itâs got a nature thatâs a little different from the other Abilities, so to say; itâs an Ability that sprouted from Azamiâs âheartâ, like... Would you understand if I say itâs a power created from the feeling of âwanting to conveyâ?â
âNope, donât get it at all.â
âThought so.â Ayano exhaled a prolonged sigh with a âhaah~â.
My, you sure are doing your best for someone so bad at explaining stuff.
âAh, thatâs right. Then wouldnât it be better if I did it like this?â
One instant.
Almost as if shaded with sunset glow, Ayanoâs dark brown hair was pregnant with a dense orange color. That was the activation of an Ability, which I had witnessed countless times. Still, the âsense of pressureâ that seemed to be released from Ayanoâs two eyes was nearly non-existent.
âYâsee, I think itâll probably the easiest way for you to understand if I do it like this... Can you accept it?â
Ayanoâs words and the movements of her lips incited a natural nod from me.
âThank you. Then, Iâll âconveyâ it to you, âkay?â
The color that appeared to be swaying inside her irises flared up all the more intensely. Unable even to blink, I simply surrendered my body to the persuasiveness of those orbs.
âFavoring Eyes.â
I was in a dark place. There was no right, left, up or down. It wasnât cold or hot.
It was that kind of place.
âYouâll disappear, wonât you, Azami?â a voice rang throughout the complete darkness. Even if I chased for the voiceâs owner, I couldnât find her.
And there was one more voice. It came closer as if to nestle with me, word overlapping upon word, âYeah. I am glad I could talk to someone like you in my last moments. More than anything, I am sorry for not having been able to do a single thing for you all until the very end. Truly, I am sorry...â
âI donât want you to cry, âcause Iâm also holding back from doing it.â
âI-I am not crying. It was just snot that came out. Besides... my âmemoryâ has already been delivered to your heart, right?â
âYep, it has. Azami, Iâve definitely received your âmemoryâ. Thatâs why Iâm not lonely anymore.â
âIs that so? Then I am relieved. In the future, this âmemoryâ might be useful for something. The âmemoryâ is not me but the precious âfeelingsâ I had when I was alive.â
âReally, youâre right. I can understand your âmemoryâ... as if it were my own. Youâve been doing your best to live on for such a very long time, huh, Azami?â
âUgh... hic...â
âAah, sorry. I didnât say it out of thinking about making you cry.â
âThatâs not it; thatâs not it at all. Itâs just... Iâve never even dreamed that someone would say something like this to me.â
âYouâre a real crybaby, Azami. Itâs okay; âcause I-I... surely wonât forget...
âWhat, but arenât you also crying?â
âE-Ehehe. Weâre together on this, huh?â
Silence.
âIt is already time. Lastly... I will leave this with you.â
âEgh...â
âIt is my âheartâ... the power named âFavoringâ. It is the power to convey âfeelingsâ and âmemoriesâ... Surely, if itâs you...â
âHic... u-ueeh...â
âWelcome back. Did it get properly conveyed?â
âYeah, it did.â
The color of the classroom dyed in scarlet was unfading, softly enveloping my consciousness as I was pulled back. It wasnât like Iâd been âshownâ or âtoldâ anything, yet a memory of Azami and Ayanoâs encounter found itself inside my head as if it were logical.
âShintarou, could it be youâre crying?â
âI ainât crying. Itâs just snot that came out.â
Ayano stared at my face for a bit, and perhaps realizing the meaning of those words, she gave me a shy smile.
I started thinking about Ayano.
The environment encircling her when she was still alive was wretched to the point of making me sick. To think that she had lost her precious mother, that her father â who used to be her only foundation â went through a transformation, and that her siblings and school seniors were taken as hostages. It wasnât the kind of story that would only go as far as making your insides boil.
And so, Ayano had jumped from the rooftop, entering Kagerou Daze through cutting her own life short. Kano had made guesses about it; that as a result of linking her motherâs notes to Clearingâs plans, she had probably thought she could hinder Clearingâs plot of âgathering Abilities to make a Medusaâ if she got her hands on one of the Ten Abilities.
Through my meeting with the Mekakushi-dan guys and connecting the pasts that each of them had talked about, I had arrived to the true motives behind Ayanoâs actions. I had been accompanied by inevitable rage. That was why Iâd sustained myself on that rage and fought. Iâd been beating the hell of out this shitty world, which had been making people like them â who were living in desperation â into fools, pushing ridiculous absurdity onto them, and trying to rob them of even their future.
And the outcome of that fight was as one could see.
There wasnât a single means of salvation, and neither was any miracle going to happen. The plan Iâd come up with through milking my brains out also hadnât served to save everybody. There was really nothing more worthless than the fact that, if there was just one thing I could do, it was to talk to my dead friends.
Nevertheless, even if I died, even if I rotted, there was one truth that I couldnât escape from. Outside of Kagerou Daze, the Mekakushi-dan guys were even now fighting against the enemy. Just because Iâd died, there was no way I alone could put an end to it on my own accord. And it seemed I wasnât the only one thinking so.
Ayano and I looked into each otherâs eyes, and as if confirming one anotherâs wills, we exchanged words.
âMust keep it up until the end, huh?â
âYeah, it ainât over yet.â
At Ayanoâs unfaltering words, I was convinced of one thing. Most likely, she and I were imagining the exact same conclusion for this battle.
In the first place, this fight had pre-existing conditions thrust into it from the beginning. The enemy was an immortal Ability itself, and the only one who could control it â the Medusa â didnât exist in this world. So long as the enemy was immortal, if Mary didnât turn into a Medusa and make it powerless, the Ability Users would all be brutally killed, no matter how much they ran or tried to buy time. Still, for Mary to become a Medusa, she had to draw the Abilities out of the Ability Users.
In other words, from the very start, the development where all of us would survive didnât exist in this battle.
It was a cruel story that nothing could be done about, but it was the ârealityâ of this struggle. As long as we couldnât all survive together, we couldnât puff out our chests and claim that âwe wonâ. And, albeit being aware of these prerequisites, everyone from the Mekakushi-dan had thrown themselves into the fight.
If only weâd managed to figure everything out sooner, faster.
It was too late for being frustrated over that or anything else at this point. Because, right now, everything had come to the moment just before the end.
Still, there was only one thing. It was a mere possibility, but there was something left in our hands. It was liable to turn out as meaningless, but if we hadnât fought, we would never have been able to get our hands on it. Just as there was no âvictoryâ for us in this battle, as long as we had that thing, there was also no âdefeatâ.
After all, the goal we carried was not to âwinâ.
âI left just one thing behind on the other side,â saying so, I took a cellphone out of my jerseyâs pocket, put it on the desk and tilted my neck at Ayano.
âA phone? I think it wonât connect with the other side, though...â
âIf you think on ordinary terms, thatâs how itâd be. Except, thereâre guys who âainât normalâ on the other side.â
It didnât even serve as an all-or-nothing, and it seemed suspicious that itâd be as much as a one-in-a-million chance; that was the kind of bet it was. And even if it became true, that didnât mean it could knock down the enemy. Simply for the sake of grasping an âextensionâ, Iâd entrusted one last wish to that girl.
âEven if you thought it out, you normally wouldnât do something like that.â Perhaps having understood my anticipations, Ayano gave me a strained smile.
âI mightâve stopped being ânormalâ too.â
Seen from the sidelines, me betting my own life not for the sake of surviving or fighting, but merely for âchoosingâ, probably came off as an abnormality. And so, I ruminated inside my mind for our clichĂ©d purpose, which we had decided upon in that hideout.
Our child-like objective of ânot giving up on the future no matter whatâ.

masterlist
Your hands trembled as you set David's camera down on the bathroom counter and hit record. Your heart was racing and you were beyond nervous. "Okay, here's the thing. I was supposed to get my period two weeks ago and I haven't gotten it. I know there are various different reasons for a missed period, but I've been feeling sick for the last few days and I don't know guys. I just have this gut feeling that I think I might be pregnant, so I'm going to take a pregnancy test just in case," you explained, your voice in a low whisper even though you were alone at David's house. You tore open the packaging to the pregnancy test you had picked up earlier today and read over the instructions to make sure you did it right. You thought about how you should have David here with you, but you didn't want to pull him away from work if it was nothing but a scare.
You set a timer and flipped the test over to hide the results. You started pacing around the bathroom, the nerves in full force as you wondered how David would react. You two were still so young and had your entire lives ahead of you.
To make matters worse, you and David hadn't ever really talked about the future of your relationship. You'd joke about being together forever, but you had never sat down and had a serious conversation about talking about getting married or starting a family. You didn't know if David wanted to have kids, let alone have them with you.
You were pulled out of your thoughts by the alarm on your phone blaring.
"Okay, guys. Moment of truth," you sighed, your hands shaking as you grabbed the test. Two pink lines. "Holy shit," you muttered, tears forming in your eyes. "I'm going to be a mom," you exclaimed, wiping away your tears as you slowly turned the pregnancy test to show the camera.
You wished David was here for this.
You turned the camera off and the reality of the situation sunk in. You were going to be a mom and David was going to be a dad and you two weren't anywhere close to being ready to be parents.
You leaned against the wall, your legs giving out as you slid slowly down until you were sitting on the floor. Your breathing was heavy and tears streamed down your face. You didnât know how to react. You were freaking out. You needed to tell David.
You wished he was here with you for this. You should've called him and had him come home or you should've waited until he was home. You needed him here with him.
You reached for your phone, with every intention of calling David, but your fingers hovered over his name. Instead of hitting call, you scrolled further down your contacts and called Jason. He would know how to handle this situation, he has two kids already. Not to mention the fact that he was sort of a father figure to you since you moved out to LA. He knew how to handle stressful situations and he would be understanding and supportive.
When he answered, you asked him to meet you at a coffee shop a few blocks from David's as soon as possible, telling him that you needed to talk to him about something important. He agreed, not asking any questions about what you had to tell him.
It took you awhile to pull yourself together. But no matter how hard you tried, your eyes stayed red and puffy. Your stomach was in knots on the drive to the coffee shop, hoping and praying that Jason wouldnât freak out and say you and David were irresponsible for letting this happen. You needed him to understand because you were worried that no one else would if he didnât.
Jason was waiting outside when you arrived and you had him follow you into a table in the corner.
"What's going on?" he asked, a concerned look on his face. Of course he knew something was wrong right away, he could always tell when something wasn't right, it must be a sixth sense you get when you become a parent. But it definitely didn't help that your eyes were red and puffy from crying.
"I need to tell you something," you hesitated. "And I need you to not be mad about it."
"You can tell me anything. You know that," Jason reassured you, shooting you a sympathetic smile. He was worried about what you were about to say, and you wondered if you should be telling him this before talking to David.
"I'm pregnant," you whispered in a hoarse voice, giving him a look that meant you were being completely serious.
Jason's eyes widened and he stared at you in shook. You squeezed your eyes shut and nodded, trying not to cry. Your heart was pounding and your hands were shaking. You felt like you couldnât breathe as you waited for Jason to say something.
"Congratulations, holy shit." He stood up and walked to the other side of the table to give you a hug. "Why would be mad?"
You felt a weight lift off of your chest and you could finally breathe again. "Because we're both so young and we arenât married yet," you sighed, answering him honestly. You felt embarrassed saying it out loud, like you were admitting that getting pregnant was a reckless mistake.
"Did you tell David yet?" he asked. You shook your head.
"No, I just found out. I donât know how he's going to react and I'm terrified. Like, he's so young and so successful and what if this is a wrench in his plans? What if this ruins everything we have? I'm seriously freaking out," you rambled. Â
"Everything is going to be fine, I promise."
"How do you know that?" You were trying to keep yourself together since you were in public, but you were on the verge of tears. You were scared and nervous and anxious and you had no clue how to process this. "I mean this is a completely different situation from when you had kids."
"I know," Jason said.
"But you're still a dad and I trust you. And I donât know, Jase. I just need some advice."
"What do you want to know?"
"I donât know, everything?" you sighed. You were still freaking out. You've always wanted to be a mom but you were having doubts about everything now, including your relationship with David. "How do I raise a child? What if I'm a terrible mom and my baby hates me? What if David doesn't want to have a kid yet? I mean Dave and I arenât married and we're both so young, what if things between us don't work out? What if he thinks I got pregnant to make sure we stay together?" You had questions about everything and you just listed them off, Jason listening carefully. He didnât seem nearly as stressed or as worried as you did.
"Hey, no, enough with the 'what ifs'," Jason cut you off. He took a sip of his coffee before continuing. "You're going to be just fine. It's totally normal to be scared. I mean, this is life changing news. But I know you and I know David and I have total faith that you two are going to be great parents. David isn't going to go anywhere. I can promise you that. Everything is going to be alright. Trust me."
"Thanks, Jase. I needed someone besides myself to tell me that everything was going to be fine," you said with a small smile. The conversation had calmed your nerves about being pregnant and made you feel better about telling David.
"Look, you arenât ever going to have all the answers, but there's nothing wrong with asking for help if you need it. I'll always be here to talk and I know all of our other friends will be too. You and David are going to be great parents and I promise that it's going to okay."
You thanked him for being a great friend and for being so supportive before heading back to David.
You fell asleep on the couch while watching Netflix and waiting for David to get home. You heard footsteps down the hall and Natalie's voice carried into the living room. Her and David rounded the corner and you opened your eyes, still feeling tired.
David came over and gave you a quick peck. "How are you feeling, babe?" he asked.
"I'm still a little nauseous," you admitted.
"I'll have Natalie run out to pick some things up," he said, curling up beside you and sending a text to Natalie.
You rested your head on his chest, your eyelids heavy as you drifted back to sleep.
"Babe, have you seen my camera?" David shouted from in the guest bedroom, waking you up.
He walked out of the room and stood in the hallway when you didnât answer. "Babe?" he repeated, watching you rub your eyes to wake yourself up. "Sorry, I didn't realize you were still sleeping."
"It's okay, bub. What's up?" you asked, sitting up on the couch.
"Have you seen my camera? I need to film tonight and I canât find it anywhere. I thought I left it on the desk in my room or in the guest room but it's not there."
Your heart stopped. Shit. You had left it on the counter in the bathroom with the positive pregnancy test still in the sink. This wasn't how you planned to tell him at all.
You took a deep breath and walked over to him, wrapping your arms around his waist.
"Do you have to film tonight?" you pouted, not wanting him to leave you. "I just haven't seen you all day and I don't want you gone all night too."
David couldn't argue with that, and a few minutes later, you were in his bed cuddling. After a few minute of being next to him, you rolled over to face him and looked up at him.
"Dave, can we talk?" Your heart was pounding and your mind was racing. You ran your fingers through his hair as he opened one eye.
"Of course, babe. What do you want to talk about?"
"I need to tell you something," you said in a serious tone and David's eyes shot open.
"Okay," David said slowly, his voice unsteady.
You opened your mouth to say something but nothing came out.
"Babe, you're scaring me. What's going on?"
"I'm pregnant." It came out barely audible and you thought David didn't hear you because he just stared at you for a few moments. But when you saw that his eyes were watering, you knew he heard you.
"Really?" he whispered, and you nodded.
"We're having a baby, David." You let a small laugh and ran your thumb across his cheek to wipe away his tears.

tw for mentions of death and injury for this one lads!! but on the flip side of that, i finally wrote actual cassunzel interactions, yaay
CASSANDRA APPRECIATION WEEK DAY 6 - FIGHT/BATTLE
Cassandra tries not to worry Rapunzel too much.
If she had it her way, Rapunzel would never have to know about a single dangerous situation she ends up in, whether its by accident or diving in with both feet. Unfortunately scars are telling, and if Cass doesn't give her an honest play-by-play Rapunzel will be up til the early hours in agonies over the dangerous life she is living out on the road. So, like a good girlfriend should, Cass measures the kind of exploits she should tell Rapunzel about in her letters with whether or not she has sustained injury. Anything more serious than a scratch and she'll tactfully leave it a secret until the next time she's within the palace walls.
So when she runs into Vex on the road a few miles north of Vardaros, she figures this will just be another one of those events that she'll paraphrase in a strait-laced letter to Raps. Perhaps she will share some good-natured sparring with the townsfolk, pal around with Vex, taste-test some fresh honey from Quaid; all the fun, low-stakes stuff. She only intends on stopping over in Vardaros to stock up on supplies and take it from there â but upon her and Vex arriving back at the sheriff's office, she's met with the sight of three men hanging from the bridge overhead, being fished down by stricken townspeople simply wanting to remove the sight lest it scare away travelling patrons.
âRaiders,â Quaid says solemnly from behind her, as Cass watches on in muted horror. Vex strides ahead, avoiding looking at the sight altogether. âWe chased a group of them out of town two weeks ago. Yesterday they struck again, so I sent a trio of our new town guard to scope out their base. And, well... it looks like they wanted to send a message home this time.â
Cass feels sick to her stomach. She's no stranger to how fucked up the world can be, especially since striking out on her own, but this is something she can't simply stand by and watch.
âWhat's your next move, Captain?â she asks quietly, following him towards the sheriff's office. From somewhere beyond her line of sight, she hears a man crying as his husband's body is lifted down.
âWe fight, of course,â he says gravely. He takes a seat at his desk and mops his brow tiredly. âBut with three of our men down, I'm not sure how well we'll fare in the fight. Our town guard is small as it is, and those raiders are ruthless. But the people of Vardaros don't back down. Not anymore.â
âI... I could write back to Corona,â Cass says quickly, grasping at straws for a way to aid the situation. âThe guard there is huge, I'm sure Eugene wouldn't mind deploying a dozen or so soldiers to assist...â
âWow. And here I was, thinking you were the only one of your friends that understood how things work here,â Vex snorts, as the front door slams shut behind her. She stalks past Cassandra, leaning back against the wall with a deep scowl.
Quaid shakes his head and smiles wanly at her suggestion. âI don't need to tell you of all people that Corona to Vardaros is at least a four day journey on horseback. We have no time to waste. The next time they come knocking, we have to be prepared to fight, no matter the cost.â
âThen I'll fight.â Owl hoots nervously on her shoulder, and Fidella, though resting just outside, looks equally perturbed by the notion of sticking around. âCaptain, I have been training for my whole life. Whatever these raiders have planned, I can at least help even the score.â
He watches her with narrowed, haunted eyes. âYour life will be at risk. This is no game, Cassandra.â
âOf course it isn't! People are being killed, Captain, you can't seriously expect that I would sit back and watch this happen?â
âI only insist that you understand what you're getting yourself into, Cassandra.â He folds his arms, regarding her in silence for several dragging seconds, all while Vex mutters some choice expletives under her breath. âIf you understand that and still wish to fight alongside us... I would be more grateful than you'll ever know.â
âI'll do it,â Cass promises. âYou can count on me.â
âŠ
Things move quickly after that. Vex gathers the townsfolk in the square to rally the locals into fighting for what's right. The people of Vardaros, beyond infuriated by the hangings that morning, are already fired up and ready to fight. For her part, Cass runs through basic drills â calling for everyone to bring forth their weaponry, teaching basic attack stances, offensive and defensive manoeuvres, everything she thinks she can squeeze into an afternoon. The idea that she is potentially sending these people to their deaths depending on how well she's taught them is nothing short of terrifying; but Quaid seems relieved at her assistance, and takes the valuable time to discuss strategy with his remaining guard.
They will defend Vardaros at any cost. They surrender to nobody. And Cass can't help thinking, despite her willingness to fight alongside them, that this mindset coupled with the minimal planning and inexperienced fighters is how entire civilisations get wiped off the map.
That night, while the townspeople grab a few precious hours of sleep, uncertain of when exactly the raiders are planning on striking next, Cass finds herself restless. Despite Vex and Quaid's dual pessimism, she finds herself reaching into her satchel for a pen and paper anyway.
Hey Raps,
It's funny that I should write to you now, when I never like to worry you on my journey. But Vardaros is in trouble, and I think that if you wake Eugene as soon as you get this, send out a dozen or so men as soon as you can, you might just be able to help. The town is being threatened by raiders, and it's bad. I'm going to fight with them, but I don't know that we'll prevail. Not to be an alarmist, but please, send some assistance. I really think we'll need it.
Captain Quaid believes that Vardaros is beyond outside help, but all I've been able to think about today is something my father once said to me: 'The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.' Well, here I am, trying to do SOMETHING. I only hope that it's enough.
I love you, and I don't want these people to die. I'll write again soon.
Sincerely yours, Cassandra.
âOwl,â Â she murmurs, so not to wake Vex, lightly snoring against her shoulder. Owl looks up, eyes blinking rapidly. âI need you to get this to Corona as fast as you can. You know how important this is.â
She binds the letter and hands it over, and Owl bows his head a little, meeting her gaze. There's an unspoken feeling there â be safe, don't you dare get yourself killed â and then with a quiet hoot he launches himself from her arm, making his exit through a window pane missing its glass. She watches him until he leaves her sight and then exhales.
Well, if she does end up dying tomorrow, at least she can do so knowing she tried her hardest to help this town. And, a thought equally as comforting, she can accept dying as long as Raps knows she loves her.
All that's left to do now is shut her eyes and wait for sleep to take hold.
âŠ
A lot of things happen that day, in the battle that historical records will one day refer to as The Great Strike Back of Vardaros. Nearly three hundred people lose their lives. Most of them, in a twist of events, happen to be the raiders.
The landslide victory comes without the help of any outside soldiers, save for one brave drifter who, despite the dismissal of the the captain, sent out a pleading message to the nearby kingdom of Corona the night before, begging for reinforcements. It doesn't bring any soldiers in time to assist in the fight; however, they turn up in spades to help the clean-up operation and bury the dead, all in awe at how well a small, untrained town of people could hold its own just out of sheer spite towards the enemy.
In Cassandra's case, the majority of this information is learned days later â when she awakens, weak and confused, in a dimly lit room that she soon comes to realise is one of the town's makeshift hospitals for casualties of the battle.
It takes a few minutes for her eyes to adjust to her surroundings, but when she finally tilts her head to the left hand side of her Cassandra spots a petite figure slumped back in a chair beside her, chest rising and falling as she dreams.
Rapunzel.
Cass lies there in stunned silence, unable to peel her eyes away from the sight of her girlfriend dozing beside her. It's almost enough to distract from the pain she's in, but as she grows more and more alert it's glaringly clear to her that something bad happened.
âCass, you're awake!â Vex bounds over to her bed and Rapunzel snorts a little at the noise, eyes blinking sleepily, opening and closing a few times before ultimately closing again, losing their battle with the tiredness plaguing her head. The relief on Vex's face only makes it more obvious to Cass that the injury must have been pretty damn awful. âGod, I â shit, it's good to see you're awake. How's your wound?â
âI... hmm. It hurts,â she grits out. âI, uh, don't really remember anything.â
âYeah, I bet. You, uh, got hit over the head pretty hard in the fight. And, er... got yourself impaled on the way down.â
âWell, fuck.â Cass doesn't really know what else she's supposed to say to that. Now that Vex mentions it, she does remember the searing pain from the blow to the head. She's just grateful she was too out of it from the blunt force trauma alone to feel the impalement. âGod. How'd I make it out of that one alive?â
âQuaid said you're just someone who isn't ready to die yet,â Vex says with a shrug. âSounds like a total cop-out to me, but you're alive, so who cares how?â
âSeriously, Vex, I should probably be dead right now.â
âThen shut up and just be thankful that you're not.â Vex's eyes narrow, her patience for Cassandra's bewilderment waning already. âWe patched your abdomen wound up fine, and we gave you some stitches on the back of your head too. That was like two days ago, though.â
Cass blanches. âShit. Two days?â She glances over to Rapunzel, who is only just starting to wake up properly. âAnd when did Raps get here?â
âFew hours after the battle was over. She came in this huge balloon thing, you wouldn't believe it. She said the captain had to stay back to watch over Corona but she still brought like, eight guards with her in the balloon to help us treat the injured. Rapunzel barely left your side once she found your bed, though.â A sly smile creeps up on her. âMust be nice, having your girlfriend come to watch over you.â
âCan it, you.â Cass can barely keep her eyes off of Rapunzel, though, as she yawns and stretches. âRaps?â
âMhmm... Vex?â
âThat wasn't me,â Vex says flatly. With that, Rapunzel's eyes snap open and she whirls around to see Cass.
âCASS!! Oh my gosh, Cassandra!â
Before Cass even has a chance to try to sit up Rapunzel leaps from her seat, tackling her with such a force that it sends a spike of pain through her stomach, in what she guesses is the sensation of her wound being jostled. Raps squeezes her tight, rocking a little. Next come the kisses, peppered all over her face as she laughs weakly in protest. Vex makes an exaggerated puking sound effect, and Cass waves her off with a roll of her eyes. But as Rapunzel goes back to hugging her, resting her head against the crook of Cassandra's neck, she feels her body begin to tremble.
âHey,â murmurs Cass, reaching up to rub Rapunzel's back in a soothing motion. âHey, come on, it's all right.â
Rapunzel shakes her head, and her voice is wet when she speaks. âIt's not all right! Cass, you could have died! You've barely been conscious for two days, my god!â
âRaps...â Cass gently steers her back by the shoulders and Rapunzel watches her, large eyes brimming over with tears. Reaching up, Cass thumbs them away and tries to smile in a way that will convince Rapunzel that she really is okay. âI'm all right now, really. Sure, my head is a little sore and I'll need to take it easy until my wound heals up, but look. I'm here with you now.â
Rapunzel sniffles and moves back, nodding. She pulls her chair right up close to the bed before sitting down again, reaching over to take Cassandra's hand in her own and turning to Vex.
âVex. Would you mind, um... giving us a moment?â
âOh, no problem, I was feeling queasy anyway,â she drawls. Despite her tone, Vex flashes them a small smile and nod before leaving to check on a man four beds to Cassandra's right. Cass exhales and squeezes Rapunzel's hand, pushing herself upright into a semi-sitting position. It's painful on her torso, but she just feels dizzier trying to hold this conversation lying down.
âI'm sorry for worrying you. I... I didn't think you would come, though. I only meant that we needed back-up out here.â
âI didn't come on official business, Cass,â Rapunzel begins, reaching up to wipe at her eyes again. âI mean, I came to help, of course, but â but god, Cass, how could you send that to me and not expect me to freak out?!â
âUh.â Cass chews her lip. âI don't know. I hoped you'd overlook the part about me being there and just, uh, focus on the part about rallying the troops.â
Rapunzel sighs loudly, eyes still shining with tears, and Cass feels her stomach drop. Geez, Raps is still mad.
âCassandra,â Rapunzel says slowly, as if to spell it out for her, âyou wrote that you desperately needed reinforcements. You wrote that you were going to fight, but you weren't confident that you would win. And you actually wrote the words 'I love you'. In ink. In a letter that you knew I would be showing other people.â
Cass nods just as slowly.
â...Cass, it sounded like a goodbye! Don't you think? How did you expect me to â to just stay put, in Corona, knowing you were here and you might be dying?!â
âI said I'd write again soon,â Cass protests, but it's a weak defence and she knows it. âThat part was supposed to be reassuring. I didn't want you to worry, but-â
âBut you don't get to decide for me if I should be worried, Cass! We are in love, and if you think for one moment that I wouldn't come to you if I had even an inkling that you could be hurt...!â
âI know,â croaks Cass. âI know, Raps, shit. I know. I'm â I'm sorry.â
Now it's her turn to well up. She looks away, reaching up to wipe at her eyes, trying to make it look like she's fiddling with her hair. Rapunzel lets her keep her pride.
âI didn't come all this way to yell,â Rapunzel promises. â...Well, all right, I did a tiny bit. Cass, I know I can't tell you to stop doing this, I just want you to be careful.â
âI am careful, Raps, but these people were in trouble. Do you think I should have stayed out of it?â
âNo,â sighs Rapunzel, shoulders slumped in defeat. âOf course not. Even if I did it's not your way of doing things, I know that. I would have done the same. It doesn't stop me from wishing you would value your life a little more, though.â
âI swear to you, I don't plan on getting myself killed when I get into fights like this,â Cass emphasises, reaching up to cup Rapunzel's cheek. âI'm sorry for scaring you.â
She leans forward and, with Rapunzel's eyes flickering to her lips receptively, kisses her softly. Rapunzel returns the enthusiasm and Cass realises, in a real moment of panic, that she might never have kissed Rapunzel again.
âI'm so glad you're okay,â Rapunzel whispers, before kissing Cass again. âI love you so much.â
âI'm really sorry,â Cassandra utters, trembling as Rapunzel pulls her in close. âAnd I love you too, Raps.â

hey itâs not very mature of an adult to put a bunch of kids on blast. be the Bigger Person. like we all said, the mute and block button is there for a reason. adults can be in fandom spaces and thatâs ok but they need to know how to act around people of other ages in said fandom.
Hi Anon,
Thanks for stopping by, I am seeing your comments and the comments of others on my posts and will, as you suggested, be blocking everyone shortly. I do want to give you time to read my response before I do and I will delete any further asks on the subject. This is a happy time in the fandom where we are minutes to hours to days away from cast pics and 13 days out from hiatus ending.
But a quick welcome to the fandom since those all look like new faces to me. My followers are welcome to do the same, if you check out the comments on my original ask response towards the bottom you will see who has been harassing other fans âin good funâ on twitter since last night. And now have decided to come to me about it.
For the record I blocked out all names of those involved and never put anyone else on blast in my responses. Neither did the person you were âhaving funâ with. She never tagged you. Someone else reblogged it later with the names on it as the comments continued to come in. After I posted my response to the situation. I never reblogged that because I didnât want to put all those names out there and hoped that this would all just chill out over night.
I totally own that I originally made a venting post that it wasnât okay to harass someone on Social Media. Again naming no names or even really indication the situation. If you are willing to scroll through the abyss of my blog you will see those pop up from time to time when fandom drama or shipping wars start. From there it was others who come to and sought me out to justify the situation and how they acted.
Itâs here that I will ask why other âolderâ fans reactions to this behavior needs to be a whole let it go they are kids mentality? Just because you are younger doesnât excuse hurting someone even if it was âin good funâ (which to be very clear the people you were directing it at were not having fun). What would you have said to me if I wasnât an Adult and instead one of your peers saying that wasnât âjust having funâ? Would you question me then? Tell me to just chill out and let you have your fun? Call me names? Tell me to go home and cry? Or leave the fandom?
Yes, I am an adult and yes I am a mother in real life and somehow the Unofficial Fandom Mom around here. I can proudly say my child who is close to that age range mentioned in the ask would never treat anyone like that on Social Media. Just to be safe I showed her the screenshots of the blacked out names and comments and she said there was nothing fun about that and that is not how friends talk to each other or have fun. She had more to say as well when she found out it was someone she adores but weâll keep those comments between us. Â
But no matter your age you and you alone are responsible for your own actions towards others.  You knew the person receiving those comments wasnât âhaving funâ yet you continued She and others did block and mute but more and more just kept coming in as new people joined in the âfunâ and kept piling on.
I canât speak for my followers but I do hope that both my older and younger followers feel I treat them all respectfully not matter their ages. That is just basic human decency.  Heck I usually have no idea how old anyone is on here unless they mention finals or having a kid. None of that matters to me. What does matter is that everyone is treated with dignity and respect and we have a good time.
Fandom is a safe place and an escape for so many people, myself included. I donât know what I would have done without it over the last few years. And it was fandom who was always a message away in the hospital last week. The actions of those last night ruined a safe place for someone who didnât deserve it.  Iâve had it happen to me before and it sucks. At the end of Season 4 one of my theories didnât hit and I was sent the most hate Iâve ever gotten. Suddenly my happy place was gone and it was devastating. I had to step back and compose myself and accept I can only control my own actions, my experience in the fandom, and my response to others. I for the most part try to do so with dignity and respect at all times, but even I will have my buttons pushed one to many times and snap with comments like Immature.
I was the one who called the repeated harassing comments as an immature action. I totally own that and I stand by it because it was. Donât blame who you were going after on that one. If I were still 16 I would have called it Immature then too.
You were âplayingâ with someone who wasnât into the game.  People were asking you to stop. And âWhat we were just having a little fun?â isnât an okay answer no matter how old you are. Seriously had that happened in a school environment would a teacher have dismissed it as all in good fun when someone was so upset and hurt? Had a the tables been turned and it was Adults fans âthat should know betterâ making those comments then I feel there would be an entirely different conversation going on.
I was being bigger person by blacking out those involved and still seriously addressing a question that came into my ask box as I always do. Again something I do often when addressing fandom drama. Now via comments you have chosen to reveal yourselves on here. Not me. You continued to post on her posts on twitter where anyone could take and post those screen shots. That someone wasnât me. I could post screen shots of your comments on my posts right now, but wonât do that. Iâll let those who want to check them out do so on their own.Â
You arenât gong to win âIt was all in good funâ with me no matter how many of these kinds of asks come in. Â
Long post short:
âWhat you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.â Jane Goodall
