This is the untold story of Dread Zeppelin, a pioneering band and pop-culture phenomenon that performed reggae versions of Led Zeppelin songs, sung by a 300 pound Elvis Presley impersonator. Conceived as a joke in late 80’s Pasadena, CA, their send-up of rock mythology and tabloid culture unexpectedly took the world by storm when this “ultimate tribute band” was signed to IRS Records. Immediately endorsed by Robert Plant, audiences and critics alike were forced to question whether they were “one of the most innovative pop culture satires around or just another milestone on the road to societal collapse.”

Bello lo spettacolo, la regia di Martone, le scene, si vede che ha la mano per gli affreschi storici, solo che a me non piglia molto il soggetto storico, la rivoluzione francesa, i nobili puzzoni contro il popolo bestia e granguignolesco, e poi la musica non è che mi dicesse un granché (dico quella di Giordano, Su Chailly ti pare che io abbia qualcosa da dire? A me va tutto bene).

Eyvazov bravo, dai, solo che più che da Andrea Cheniér l’avevano conciato da Tortelvis dei Dread Zeppelin (chi è quella vecia? Ah, è la Netrebko).

Insomma, a me piacciono più Verdi, Puccini e Monteverdi, ieri sera mi sono commosso ascoltandomi Oblivion Soave, da ascoltarselo la sera prima di andare a nanna, altro che Giordano con la sua pesantezza verista, il sogno, vogliamo il sogno, perdio.
