gonkillu 9 for the ways to say i love you prompt?
prompt! “Fine, you can use me as a pillow.”
Thank uuuuu 🥺! I haven’t had a request since I remade! I guess it’s not really a request? It’s an ask, but! I really ended up loving writing this 🥺🥺🥺🥺🤲
“Fine, you can use me as a pillow.”
Gon says it so bluntly. It's not crass or mean, holding an inflection of gentleness. Gon can’t stand it another second. Seeing Killua curled up on the other side of the couch, clutching the edges of his nightgown, oh, so tightly. His bowl of popcorn is untouched, and he’s biting on his lip, digging his fingernails into the pink silk fabric.
Killua freezes, looking up slowly, dumbfounded at Gon, cocking his head to the side just slightly, and Gon catches a glimpse of tears that sends his heart right to his throat, tight.
“W-what?”
Gon opens his mouth to repeat himself, interrupted by a loud crackling zap.
Killua flinches, and it’s obvious, even if he tries to tense his muscles.
“Ki-”
“Go ahead and laugh, stupid! It’s so funny and ironic how I’m scared of lighting! I get it!”
Killua snaps and bores his gaze into the funny rom-com movie they’re watching, or not watching, really.
Gon’s eyebrows furrow, and he frowns.
“I’m not laughing.”
Another loud bang of thunder interrupts him.
Killua yelps, drawing his hands up to his ears, covering them, and screwing his eyes closed tightly.
Gon gets up and moves the bowl, sitting beside Killua, gently taking his wrist.
“Killua?”
Killua peers up, opening his eyes, tears overflowing in them.
“Come here. I promise my chest is a better pillow than that old one you use.”
He smiles gently, and Killua sniffs, wiping under his nose and snorting lightly.
Only because it’s true. Gon’s chest is broad and warm and inviting, unlike his pillow with minimal amounts of stuffing, that’s lumpy…
His nose collides with Gon’s chest painfully, and yet he doesn’t even mind the sting, pressing his cheekbone to Gon’s pec, and holding onto his flimsy tank top.
Gon hums, wrapping an arm around his shoulder, brushing away strands of Killua’s hair with his free hand.
Crack!
Killua whimpers, holding tighter to Gon, and Gon gently shushes him, pulling his small frame closer, hooking an arm under his knees, and lifting him onto his lap.
“It’s okay… it’s okay... I’m here.”
Gon’s here… here…
Warm…
His skin feels tingly, and he curls up at the sound of another crack.
“Make it go away…”
Gon looks down at Killua and the puppy dog eyes he gives and the pouts; Gon’s heart aches, and he smiles sadly.
“I will, okay? I’ll go outside and punch the ground so hard; it’ll make the sky shake and scare all the thunder and lightning off.”
Killua knows that’s not possible, but it makes him feel better.
“C-can we stay like this…? Just a little… please…”
His heart races nervously, and he curls his fingers into that dirty white fabric.
“You don’t even need to ask. I already told you. You can always use me as a pillow.”
As to ease Killua’s doubt more, he puts on a goofy voice.
“For the cheap price of one smile! Get your Gon pillow today! It comes with great head support, and warmth, and love!”
Killua smacks his arm lightly, his cheeks burning bright and the display.
“Stupid! I’m going to have to ask the old man to haggle with that kind of price.”
Gon pouts dramatically, and Killua sighs.
“F-fine…”
He grins, in the fakest way possible, before tilting his head down and giving a genuine smile.
“Thank you, Gon… I-I love you…”
Gon’s heart stops for a moment. Forget valentines gifts, or birthday gifts; this was the only gift he needed for the rest of his lifetime, Killua’s soft voice and precious smile.
He jumps up, holding Killua in his arms.
“Alright!”
Killua screams, clutching his arms around Gon’s neck.
“G-Gon!”
“Sorry, sorry! But we can’t sleep on the couch.”
Killua feels just right in his arms, so small and warm, and a desire aches in his heart to always protect Killua.
It doesn’t matter where they sleep.
“I love you too, starlight.”

I’ve reentered my anime era. I rewatched ouran high school host club and princess jellyfish then I watched yuri on ice for the first time. I’m thinking toradora next? I’m really looking for the cutesy relatively short anime that will break my heart when it’s over :)))

HIIII gio!!!! i finally got the time to watch anime and i hv been curretnyl rewatching my fav anime, which are mostly shounen. id love to get so recs on shoujo anime bc i want to get in to it!!! xoxo
Honestly, shoujo is as vast as it can be... so i'm going to recommend a few very different things because idk which genre you're looking for
Natsume Yuujinchou (my all-time favorite) - slice of life, supernatural, iyashikei - It is about an orphan boy who can see yokai and gets adopted by a family in the town his grandmother used to live in. He inherits his grandmother's "Book of Friends," a book full of the names of the yokai his grandmother defeated. This anime deals with loneliness, belonging, learning to trust others again, love, and hope.
Tumblr media
Akatsuki no Yona - fanatsy, action, romance - Yona is a naive and sheltered little princess living a perfect life alongside her childhood friends until one day her father gets murdered by the friend she was in love with. She is forced to flee the palace and face the world, collecting allies in her quest to come home and get her throne back. Also she is fucking badass.
Tumblr media
Kamisama Hajimemashita - fantasy, romance - Nanami has just recently become homeless after her father's gambling leaves them bankrupt. Wandering through the streets, she finds and rescues a man who promises to give her a home. When she gets to her new home, she realizes it is a shrine, and the man was actually a god who tricked her into becoming a new god and taking over his duties as god. Trying to leave, she gets trapped by his familiar, Tomoe, and is now bound to her divine duties while simultaneously having to learn how to deal with Tomoe.
Tumblr media
Akagami no Shirayukihime - fantasy, romance - Shirayuki is an apothecary on the run from becoming a concubine. She gets rescued by a prince and his two aids in the woods, and to repay her debt to them, she becomes an apothecary in the castle.
Tumblr media
Yubisaki to Renren - adult cast, romance - we follow Yuki, a hearing impaired university student, as she broadens her horizons meeting new friends and falling in love
Tumblr media
Ikoku Nikki - drama, josei (josei is like the adult version of shoujo, dealing with more heavy topics and targeted to an older audience) - this one hasnt aired yet, but it is from a manga I really love. Asa is a teenager who just lost her parents and now has to live with her aunt, Makio. Her aunt has always hated her mother so the two of them had never properly met before the funeral. Now they have to learn to live together while navigating through grief and loss.
Going by this short list you can already tell my favorite genre is fantasy, specially historical fantasy or yokai/gods stuff
And here are some of the classic romance shoujo that I feel like everyone from the 90s or 2000s have watched/heard about: Toradora, Ouran High School Host Club, Kimi ni Todoke, Kaichou wa Maid-sama, Fruits Basket, Ao Haru Ride

this has been my past year of media
I watch The Hunger Games. There are no fat people. Characters are either rich and altering their bodies, or poor and starving so I guess? (as if starving doesn't often make people put on weight when they do have food)
I watch Succession. There are no fat people. Some people act like Shiv Roy's slim thick body type is body diversity. They're all rich people so I guess?
I watch Heartstopper. There are a couple fat people. This show prides itself on diversity so I would expect there be at least a couple.
I watch Sex Education. There are no fat people. This show also prides itself on diversity so.... you know...
I watch Beef. There are no fat people.
I watch a dozen random movies on Netflix with my mom. There are no fat people except maybe one comically horny woman who feels like a complete joke.
I watch Our Flag Means Death. There are a few fat people. This is unbelievably refreshing.
I watch The Bear. There is one fat person. He's basically comic relief all the time but he's sweet and people love him, so that's nice.
I watch Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss. There are no fat people. The only fat characters are in the background or are villians/annoying one off characters.
I watch Daisy Jones and The Six. There are no fat people.
I rewatch one of my favourite animes, Toradora! There are no fat people
I watch Romantic Killer. There are no fat people.
I watch Dungeon Meshi. There are two stocky dwarves, and they're highly competent and respected. This is nice.

I found volume 1 of the Toradora light novel at Barnes and Noble and ended up buying it. I look forward to reading it but in the meantime, I figured I might as well rewatch the anime. The last time I watched this anime was back when I was in college in roughly 2014 so it's been awhile
I always found it adorkable the way Minori is always so extra about the way she's running/walking in the first opening and ending. It really shows off her dorky, playful personality for sure.

Ik I’m already known for defending Toradora on here but I’ve been rewatching it (in sub for the first time actually) and wtf this show is genuinely so good lmao people are insane for hating on it to the degree that they do
it’s a tightly written show with really good complex characters, obviously it has some outdated or uninteresting scenes or minor plot points here and there, but overall it’s genuinely just good. like it’s an objectively well written show. And hottest take of all, Taiga literally isn’t even that bad. I made a whole post about how necessary the negative aspects of her personality are for her character development, but as I’m watching it again I’m like there’s actually no way people hold a grudge against this character for saying, like, 3 maximum actually mean things
When it comes to shows I first watched as a teenager I try to take my judgement of their quality with a grain of salt bc I know some of that could be nostalgia talking, but every time I watch Toradora again I’m like no this is actually excellent and everyone else is wrong

I've been reading the Toradora! light novel after rewatching the show and I cannot believe how much more abusive and mean they made Taiga in the anime. Like I know showrunners love to play up character's negative traits, but they removed a lot of the softness that made Ryuuji stick around and eventually fall in love with her. OOF.

Are there any shows you wanna watch?
There hasn't been anything that really stood out to me recently outside of a handful of things I knew I'd be watching like X-Men 97, Fallout, and......???? I haven't watched anything else recently.
My brain has this thing where I'm hesitant to commit the time to a thing, because I'm already at capacity.
I have a list (in my head) of anime I need to catch up on, but I haven't watched a new anime in nearly two years at this point. Most recently I rewatched Toradora.
I will hesitantly watch the upcoming Daredevil series, though I'm skeptical about Marvel's direction and the last minute reworking of the entire series, even if the changes were in the right direction, makes me worry that they're not even sure why they had to make those changes in the first place.
House of the Dragon was a banger, excited for that to return.
So yeah, basically my brain is a potato and I'm at capacity for media intake at the moment. lol
