Sensex, Nifty Open in the Red; Rupee Open Higher
The benchmark indices, Sensex & Nifty, opened on a negative note on Tuesday morning with mixed Asian cues. The NSE Sensex was trading at 40,206-levels, up 61 points, while the Nifty50 was at 12,064 up 23 points during mid-morning session. On the sectoral indices, Nifty Auto, Metal, PSU Bank and Realty index were trading in the green, whereas Nifty bank, Financial service, FMCG, IT, Media, Pharma and Pvt bank were trading in the red with major loss in IT index which declined over 1% led by fall in HCL Tech, TCS and Infosys. Yes Bank, EicherMotors, NTPC, L&T and PowerGrid were among major Nifty gainers, while HCL Tech, Zeel, HeroMotoCorp and Asian Paints led the losses. Shares of L&T Technologies fell 0.67% on the NSE, after Larsen&Toubro plans to sell 3.88pc stake in the company, as per exchange filing. Stock Markets Trading Updates, Most Active Stocks Today
Equity benchmark indices were trading higher on Tuesday, driven by gains in metal stocks. The Indian rupee on today opened 3ps higher at 69.37 against greenback. Oil futures edged lower today early trade US crude declined 0.2pc to USD62.12 and Brent crude was 0.3pc lower at USD71.00 per barrel. In the very morning session, the Sensex gained upto 173pts and Nifty rose over 37 points. Later, going through the mid-morning session, the indices trimmed the early gains to some extent with BSE benchmark trading 34 points up at 38,634-level and the Nifty trade flat at 11599-level, up 1% at 11.15 am. Hindalco and Hindustan Unilever were among the most active stocks today. Among stock buzz, FMCG major Marico surged over 8ps in early morning deals, and currently trades at Rs.364.10 per share, up Rs.24.50 or 7.21-percnet. On Tuesday the Company posted over double-fold increase in net profit at Rs405crore in Q4FY19. Shares of HDFC Bank traded higher by 0.54pc at Rs2341 per share after the company to consider stock split on May 22. Among sectors, Nifty Metal stocks recovered, up 1.16pc on value buying after falling over 2pc on Monday. NMDC, Hindalco, Coal India and Vedanta gained between 1.29 to 2.33 percent. Lower Market trend on PoK Attacks Reports
Market indices - Sensex Nifty - extended morning losses under the geopolitical tension on Indo-Pak border. As per reports, Pakistan has claimed that the Indian Air Force has violated the Line of Control, following which Pakistan scrambled immediately. The Rupee opened lower by 26 paise against Greenback on Tuesday. The BSE benchmark Sensex is down 379points at 35834, while Nifty is down 114points at 10765-lelvel, at around 10.40am. Top gainers at this time on the Nifty are TCS, Tata Motors, Hindustan Unileverm Bajaj Finserve and Ultratech Cement, while losers include Vedanta, Hindalco, JSW Steel and Yes Bank. Among buzzing stocks, shares in DHFL fell sharply, falling over 6 percent after the company's debt was down-graded. Shares in Britannia Industries surged Rs16.20 or 0.53% after that the company will be included in the Nifty. The Market moves higher, Top buzzing Stock today
Indian share markets started opened higher on Wednesday morning. At 10.25 am, the Sensex is up 240 points at 35593-mark, while Nifty50 is up 74.70 points at 10,669-level. On the Nifity50, major gainers were Vedanta, Indiabulls, Tata Steel, JSW Steel and BPCL, whereas Bajaj Auto, Mero MotoCorp and HCL Tech were losers. All sectoral stocks are seeing buying interest with metal stocks and bank stocks leading the gainers. Nifty Metal index trade higher 2.70percent led by Jindal Steel, SAIL-India, WelspunCorp and Tata Steel Among buzzing stocks, Indian Oil Corporation stock gains 1.47percent on report of signing contract to buy US oil.
