Move over Nespresso — TopBrewer is the coffee maker your office has been dreaming about. What is it, exactly? TopBrewer is almost like a Coke Freestyle machine for your workplace beverages — it’s “great coffee on tap.”

The guts of the machine are hidden out of sight, so TopBrewer looks more like a fancy water faucet than anything. (Except that this faucet dispenses coffee, making it the most precious faucet in the world.)

With TopBrewer you can make everything from espressos to hot chocolate, or just a plain old cup of joe. It’ll also dispense cool water — sparkling or still. And the machine’s completely controlled over WiFi. You can set up an iPad as a touchscreen kiosk on the counter right next to TobBrewer, but employees can also control the unit via their smartphone or even an Apple Watch. I love it.

I couldn’t find any pricing on the TopBrewer website (never a good sign), but I did find a contact form to request that information. And I can’t imagine the supply costs are super cheap, either. But one thing’s for certain: TopBrewer has to make for a premium office coffee experience.

Coffee Tech: Groundbreaking Gadgets That Make Coffee More Interesting

Two things get me through the average day: my trusty smartphone and my coffee. For me, these are the staples of daily life; in fact, they’re the staples of modern life for millions of people around the world. Imagine bringing them together in one glorious handheld package. That’s right, your mobile phone can now be turned into a coffee dispenser.   Now, I’m not talking metaphorically here. You probably think I’m talking about a flashy new app that allows you to have coffee delivered directly to your desk. Well, in a way that’s true, but this new gadget does a lot more than that.   The Mokase is a heat-proof cover that doubles up as an espresso maker. When you’re in need of a quick shot of caffeine, simply open up the app and “order” your coffee.   This particular protective cover uses thin coffee capsules that contain exactly the right combination of ground coffee beans and water for a quick shot of espresso. The cartridges are called wafers; simply slide one into the case, and press the espresso button on the Mokase app. An integrated heating mechanism ensures the shot is piping hot. The shot is then poured through an almost invisible hole on the corner of the device.   This wonderful invention is the brainchild of Naples-based firm Smart K, which calls the Mokase the “first ever multi-utility cover that supplies espresso coffee whenever and where you want.” At the time of launch, a version of the Mokase was available for iPhones and Samsung phones, but more are planned for the future.   If this invention isn’t mind-blowing enough for coffee addicts like me, there’s even more! The Mokase is sold alongside a folding cup that sits happily on your keyring.   This ingenious piece of kit started out as a concept on the Kickstarter website, but the popularity of the initial idea meant that its inventors raised the necessary funds elsewhere. At a price of around £65, the Mokase will definitely appeal to the professional coffee addict.   As I was taking a close look at the website, I began to think: what other ingenious coffee gadgets are already out there? And it wasn’t long before I found a plethora of caffeine-related tech for sale. The Zoku Iced Coffee Maker This travel mug looks just like any other at first glance. However, its insulated, stainless steel structure turns hot coffee into iced coffee in a matter of seconds. The mug is spill-resistant, which makes this bad boy perfect for the car, the office or walking around town. The Piamo Espresso Maker The Piamo Espresso Maker coffee doubles up as an espresso maker you place in the microwave. All you need to do is fill the water chamber, insert a ground coffee pad and stack it. Just 30 seconds on full power gives you a powerful shot of espresso. Whether or not it tastes any good is another matter. The Dual Auto/USB Heated Mug This is a travel mug with a difference. It comes with a USB port, which you can connect to your car’s power supply, your laptop or just about any device with a USB connection. The power keeps your coffee warm inside the stainless steel vessel. There’s also a spill-proof lid and a rubber base to stop it from sliding around. The Coffee Faucet (that’s a tap in Queen’s English) Have you ever had a dream about having coffee on tap? Well, now your dreams can come true. The TopBrewer can be fitted into any kitchen worktop; giving you a never-ending supply of joe. This incredible piece of kit comes with a built-in milk foamer and washing system.   All of the workings are hidden away from view underneath the countertop, leaving a stunning, stainless steel coffee tap on show for all to see.
