Every year on 14th September, Hindi Diwas is celebrated widely across the country. Hindi is often referred to as the ‘language of unity’ in India and carries a lot of significance in our culture. Coconut day

NāraLi pournima is a ceremonial day observed by Hindu fishing communities in Maharashtra particularly around Mumbai and the Konkan coast. It is held on the full-moon day of the Hindu month of Shravan which falls around July or August. The ocean was worshipped with rice, flowers and coconuts as offerings. Another ceremony involves women tying a rakhi or amulet on the wrists of their brothers.

The CBSE Class X, 2020 results were declared on 15th July 2020 amidst great exultation and jubilation. The Management, Principal and staff showered their blessings on each of the successful students and also congratulated the students for their excellent results in the Class X CBSE Board Examination. This year the rigorous and consistent efforts of the students produced a marvelous result. 36 students have scored a commendable score of above 93%.

After a hiatus of one month, all of us are coming back together.

The summer vacation has refreshed the students and on 6th July, 2020, we are going to resume online classes.

We, at The Asian School, believe that learning should not be hindered by the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. Although classroom teaching is not feasible at this point of time, dissemination of education must be uninterrupted.

The COVID-19 threat has brought human civilization to a standstill. However, we must not yield to this invisible enemy. In order to combat COVID-19, we must equip ourselves with requisite knowledge and we must be aware of the impact of the virus on earth.

As a part of SST activity, students of Classes VI-VIII of The Asian School have created lively and creative charts which explain the effects of the virus on the environment and resources. The charts show that though lockdown has brought human activity to a hiatus, nature is healing herself and there is a significant decrease in pollution. Our students have beautifully portrayed how the doctors of the nation are working relentlessly to rescue us from this crisis. Education without co-curricular activities is like educating the mind without educating the soul. To encourage critical and creative thinking and to improve communication skills of the students, story writing and essay writing activities were organized by the English Department of The Asian School.

Students of Classes VI and VII employed their imagination and experiences to pen down unique stories based on the given themes. The activity ignited their innate skills of innovation and creativity.

Class VIII students were asked to write an essay on the topic- "Online learning versus traditional learning in schools." It developed their ability to structure an argument and built their capacity to write lucidly, coherently and persuasively.

All the students actively participated and exhibited their best work.

Exploring the solar system

Students at The Asian School have a flair for artistic excellence. The vividly colourful and flamboyant charts depicting the Solar system are evidence of their creative output. The kids of the middle school have, indeed, utilised their time to churn out vibrant polychromatic charts of the Solar system which are beautiful to look at. Given below is a basic description of the Solar system.

Our solar system is the celestial system comprising the sun, which is a star, and the various heavenly bodies that orbit it. These heavenly bodies include the eight planets and their natural satellites, asteroids, dwarf planets, comets, meteoroids and tiny particles of rock and dust. All of these revolve around the sun, the largest object in the Solar system containing about 99% of its mass, under an immense gravitational force.

Amid the gloom and doom of COVID-19  and  the intense period of lockdown,   our Asianites are toiling hard to churn out something productive by involving themselves in plentiful activities which include honing their culinary skills, creativity, reading, scribbling doodles, swaying to the beats of zumba as well as devising innovating  mechanisms to save water. They are also reaching out to homeless people by distributing  food packets. Indeed, during this crisis, our students are becoming the silent warriors of the future.
