This year has been an odd one for me, quit my job in September to start a second degree in Pharmacy moved 5 hours away from home and struggled a lot with that. I also stopped posting on here as much :( but I'm hoping next year I will get some brain space to be consistent again :D

okay top5 for myself

the word “shrugged”: i swear my characters shrug more in one chapter than i have in my entire life, but i cant seem to get away from the word…although when i put my work into this thing that counts word recurrence, it never makes the top 10, i still feel like i overuse it sm

proofreading: i hate hate hate proofreading….like reading my own writing is just frustrating to me, especially bc i actually write way in advance of when i actually publish it, so things i may have thought were good a month and a half ago i usually end up hating by the time i actually publish them…idk i think a lot of creators are their worst critics, im sure there’s not as much actually wrong w my stuff as i think

mixing action with dialogue: i dont even mind this much when im reading, but seeing a huge section of just dialogue in my own writing has me foaming at the mouth…and i have a hard time visualizing things so it takes me so long to add realistic actions in between certain lines, otherwise i feel like the scene flows weird if i dont do this…

figurative or overly descriptive language: no one has ever said anything bad abt this so i’m not sure why it but i always worry that parts of my writing will come off pretentious? like i’ll write it and be like “wow i cooked” and then i’ll read it back and be like “who tf do u think u are to be writing like that”

writing environment: i swear i need everything just so to be able to write efficiently, its so annoying. perfect caffeination level (not enough = no brain, too much = can’t focus), perfect playlist, comfy clothes and comfy seating position, not hungry but not full etc etc. i can still write without these things but it ends up being slow af. so annoying

poorly formatted dialogue: genuinely if i see dialogue lumped in with paragraphs of text I CLICK OUT im not reading that i’m sorry. it’s a visual thing like it’s overwhelming to read and makes the story flow weirdly, like pleasseeedseese put your dialogue on a new line

UNDERuse of the word “said”: ik this is contrary to most writing advice, but it bothers me fr when ppl go out of their way to avoid words like “said” “asked” “replied”…like sometimes they’re genuinely the best words for the situation, or the synonym that gets used is just not appropriate. when you get into more specific words like that it’s gotta fit well. i’m a big advocate for using modifiers rather than synonyms, like “whispered” “said softly” “said, a hint of softness creeping into their voice” are all different. anyway i hate when im reading and someone uses a synonym for “said” that doesn’t fit the situation

over reliance on physical description for characters: again like the synonyms- time and place. maybe it’s just me, it just feels kinda depersonalizing if youre constantly using physical descriptions when they aren’t relevant, especially in romance. ex: in dancing with a stranger, megumi notices yuuji’s muscles bc he purposely flexes, or the way his eyes catch the sun as part of the “view” on a sunny day, but the rest of they time, he’s thinking of yuuji as kind, warm, talented, etc. it just makes characters feel shallow, and especially in romance, makes the relationship feel shallow. if all megumi noticed about yuuji were his big muscles and loserboy puppy eyes, it kinda cuts the meaning and intimacy from the relationship. also noah fence but it also comes off as kinda lazy characterization

pretty much the people I'm familiar with or watch regularly as someone who's been in the horror community for a LONG time. This has a variety of things and not all of them I watch often I just know them.

Be. Busta - creepy story narration and he's one of my favs (and unless I'm mistaken I think he works as dentist lol)

Brimstone Below - creepy story narrator he is no longer active (hope he's okay)

blameitonjorge - Very well known, he makes mostly lost media videos now but he also does lots of video essays of interesting topics

Bright Sun Films��(Formerly Bright Sun Gaming) - Does videos of abandoned locations and the history of them, he also does Urbex.

Brittney Crabb (Formerly Brittney44) - Does urban legends stories seemingly focused on a more younger audience as her content is very energetic and silly. Sometimes she does ghost hunting.

Jessii Vee - Same as Brittney she does urban legends and is for a younger audience, but there are some interesting things on there.

Dark Exploration Films - Urbex youtuber who does many interesting locations of many types

Darkness Prevails  - Another creepy story narrator, he has a speech pattern that's very podcast persona.

AbandonedMines11 - As the name suggests he explores mines. If that's your thing here you are.

Exploring With Josh - Another Urbex youtuber and is very well known. Explores well known and random places and is very energetic.

GloomyHouse - Does stories and lists. Some of his stuff is very fake and a bit clickbait.

Goose Boose - Deserves SO MUCH MORE attention. He does videos of creepy media mostly.

HoodoHoodlumsRevenge - Doesn't post anymore but his videos are mostly comedy in some way and posts about creepypastas (also really likes Gorillaz)

Lazy Masquerade - Very well known narrator who also does list type videos. LEMMiNO - Does really nice video essays!! If you scroll to bottom you'll see what the channel used to be LMAO. He also has made some lovely music that I still listen to.

Night Mind - Does videos on exploring ARGs and other creepy media. I have one of his plushes.

oddheader - I'm counting him due to the mystery aspect. He does easter egg videos mostly

ScareTheater - Well known, does short videos on many dark things and is mentioned by other Youtubers on occasion. Rather light in tone.

Tats TopVideos - Her older videos are now gone but I still remember them, but she makes Top list videos with many other people that tend to be long (also rather comedic and several). Also SCP stuff.

The Haunting of Sunshine Girl Network - Not active any more really, but this was a channel created by an acting agency to make videos about a girl haunted by ghosts and learning she can help them, it's fictional of course but there is also books based on it (which I own and they stray a lot from the source but that's fine). There is also stuff on there from others.

Top5s - Another List channel, but these videos tend to feature things not often featured or talked about. I have been following this channel for as long as I can remember.

Top15s - I think we all already know this one. I'm counting this channel as it's mostly creepy things lol. With the return of Chills the style has changed and I think it's better now. Chills also stopped doing the deep voice

YourEverydayTheorist - Older stuff is silly theory videos but his newer stuff is mostly Iceberg videos.

Nick Crowley - To me some of his stuff can be rather disturbing

Moe Sargi - Now he's not for everyone as most of his videos are exaggerated and he's very loud but if you like Josh you may like him. He also was the one who made the 24 hour challenge videos first and I like his older stuff more. He also pumps out videos like crazy.

Night Time Spooks - Yet another horror narrator, but he's got the voice of just some guy.

Sakura Stardust - Does mostly Japanese horror content. Fortune - Does both real and fake stuff (as the header states blue = real and purple = fake. Most known for his Unexplained incidents videos.

ReignBot - Similar to Scare theater and is also well known and often mentioned.

Shrouded Hand - I don't really watch him but he's worth mentioning as he is also often mentioned by others

Mr. Nightmare - I accidently deleted his part OOPS. He's another narrator but a lot of his stuff got deleted by him.

Nexpo - I FORGOT HIM OOPS. He's probably the most well known of them. Makes long videos exploring many things.

ShaiiValley - Makes lots of lost media videos about topics that are unsolved and barely spoken of

Barely Sociable - Makes lots of mystery videos and covering a variety of topics. Great for both very long and dinner long content.

Sourcebrew - lost media lists

SomeOrdinaryGamers - does gaming videos and content on creepy things such as creepypastas. Does deep web and computer safety things too

Maverick Files - There is not a lot of videos on here but it's very promising and the quality is pretty great.

Pixels After Dark - The newer videos are better in my opinion but I spent a lot of time on this channel some nights ago while playing games lol

Sacrow - Does a lot of iceberg videos. If you have ever wanted to learn about older internet horror stuff it's a great channel to see lots.

Chilling Scares- Another multi theme true horror stories channel, kinda like Mr. Nightmare lol

Jessicur- Run of the mill horror channel that covers true crime and internet posts.

Top 5 videogame characters

Omg I didn’t know this was going around 😭

(Not counting characters from VNs because otherwise the whole list would just be Higurashi and Umineko characters djdjdkdkdk)

1. Mae Borowski (Night in the Woods)

Ah. Yeah KJFDNJFDKKNJD cat girl blinded and chained by nostalgia that she doesn't want to leave behind, while also being weighed down by her past mistakes as she still struggles with the guilt and the mental illness of it all. Reconnecting with old friends, only to find that they've changed and they're becoming farther and farther away for you to reach out to. Finding a way to cope with all of that and simply leaving with "I'll just continue to live" in the end — AUGH. Night in the Woods my beloved, Mae Borowski my beloved...

2. Akane Kurashiki (Zero Escape)

I remember playing 999 on the ds and just being shocked, and I remember playing vlr on the 3ds also being pretty shocked. And I didn't quite understand Akane as a character at the time because I was like 14 and I couldn't comprehend shit. But when I revisit her character now and I read a bunch of analysis stuff regarding her, I now realize just how well she's written to be in Zero Escape's narrative. For a girl to sacrifice the normality and life she had left for the sake of the world, forsaking timelines again and again so she can find the right outcome, but leaving the one she loved most behind — it's heartbreaking. It's cruel and tragic, because Akane had her life tragically ripped away too soon, so she never got to truly live at all. But to see her at the same time be cold-hearted and leave behind Junpei and the others also hurts to see. She's very well written and complex and I love her for it

3. Yosuke Hanamura (Persona 4)

I don't talk much about Yosuke, but he's a character I have a lot of beef with personally. He's a character that I look at and go "Shit, I can't help but see my teenage self in you" and it's like damn 💀 I struggled with the same goddamn things this guy did and I was shitty just like he is, and I'm looking at a mirror every time I see content about him I swear. Persona 4 was a game that got me through my teenage years, so it checks out tbh. I appreciate the growth that Yosuke himself goes through, but I do think the game does him dirty development wise 😭

4. Mizuki Okiura/Date (Ai: The Somnium Files)

I think this goes in hand with my personal experiences, but I relate to Mizuki a lot tbh. I relate to her loneliness as a child, but it was also so happy and fulfilling to see this girl get the family she deserved in the end and to see her grow up into a better version of herself, who's come to terms with her grief. I have more complicated feelings with how they handled some of her character aspects in aini, but I still appreciate how we got to see Mizuki older and see how much she's grown as a person from her 12 yr old self in aitsf

5. Ryunosuke Naruhodo (Ace Attorney/The Great Ace Attorney)

Keeping this one brief and without spoilers since I have a moot who's going through tgaa rn, but I love Ryunosuke as a protag much more than Phoenix tbh, his development throughout the duology is so good! He's silly, he's grieving, he finds a passion in something he didn't think he would excel in. His character arc overall is just very satisfying to see, and he's one of the more enjoyable protags I've played in any video game ngl

Nicola as bond girl yes but also why are the opinions always just white woman the same 5-8 white woman that is, it’s always they get yt woman/man use them for everything And the same 5 mixed girl Z being their pick always like we are tired give us Nicola for sure but Charithra Arsema now fcvk the industry and it’s racism it’s always only picking same yt people for everything even if it’s new rising it’s always a yt person and that yt person is in everything for the next 5-10 years and I’m so sick of it they saying Jonny is bond great personally don’t think it’ll suit him or that he can do bond as he’s very like most of his characters and bone is so far from his real person that I don’t think he can do it that well but I’m glad for him he’s getting his finally he deserves it and it’s kinda obvious why he’s getting it and not Rege or why Nicola is and not Arsema Charithra always said nic fits the beauty standard of Hollywood so pretty and blonde and she’s incredibly talented too ofc but its clear talent is always 2nd to the beauty standards glad she getting what she deserves so much more then any and all actually worker so hard for it so for her to finally get whats hers is everything and it gives people hope that they too can achieve their dreams in their late 30s

bond should definitely be one of them even they are the only real options if bein honest with Arsema Nic Charithra as Bond girl that’s perfect casting let me do it let me do the casting for stuff please I know it well!

I’ll even accept Theo J, Henry G, or even Tom H Aaron Taylor which eveyone saying is bond already which is cool (confirmed as they were all my 2nd option after these top5 that are perfect) other then Johnny but are we gonna get them no because they’ll eat black bond up and they all been trough enough the fact the idea of idris Lashana had them crying it was crazy it wasn’t even confirmed real just rumours same thing they did with avnatika as rapunzel! and we all know what John went through in Star Wars so would never wish that on him again or any of them ever so I’m good with ATJ/JB

7. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?

I don't look for a lot of stuff on him but... I really like when I see people use very different character to serve as his trauma-processor? Like Judai and a few others are classics but when I see development on his dynamic with Echo, or him hanging out with Johan, it's fun like. He has very unique dynamics with many characters so I'm glad it's a bit exploited.

Also i really like that everyone agrees schmaden schmuki is in top5 yugioh moment. I really want to make a compilation across languages someday.

12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?

His father was huge into nerd non-video games, board games, rpgs, tabletop games, just all kinda stuff. He's a tcg designer after all. So this kinda of highly nerdy stuff is a deep part of Edo's childhood and connection to his father (and i have my little general GX AU where they're practically a group of board game nerds I can place them on the rpg-board games-figurine trium virat it fits every character so well).

BUT he's more particularly into figurine stuff. As in Warhammer. Listen Warhammer is prime smart-ass edgy nerd with lots of money to spend hobby. He spends hours painting each of his mini and he has lore for each unit. Has very expensive table and decor and somehow look down on players (marufujis basically) who have more homemade stuff. He won't play against you if you don't know the exact timeline of war between X and Y faction. He's that kinda guy.

21. If you're a fic writer and have written for this character, what's your favorite thing to do when you're writing for this character? What's something you don't like?

Most fun and embarassing Edo writing moment to me is when I get to the part where he thinks how much he loves Saiou and like. it's all projection. Half of my love toward my friends half of my love toward Saiou. He's so fun to write for real i can spend an hour describind Saiou's hair and yeah it's in-character. Also I love showing bits of his issues poke out here and there. Like being a little scared of opening door.

For the part I don't like... I guess when I need to write him be a bit of an asshole to others? It's a bit hard writing characters being mean but it's kind of necessary for pre/early-s2 Edo.

It's been a month and I still listen to it at least twice a day because I actually want to.

It was a good experience for me until the sales thing happened. I don't care too much about what antis say, and I would've still not cared if it wasn't for the blatant hypocrisy shown after the Jungkook photos with scooter and BangPd. I complain because I don't think those events: Scooter and Jimin's drop from top5 were a coincidence.

I expected Yoongi's album to drop before his tour, I knew it would be like that since the moment the tour was announced. There was just no way he'd go on tour without a new album, so I was expecting the blow. I also think pjms complaining about the radio show on Apple is... dumb... because Jimin would not do a radio show anyways. That's what Yoongi wanted to do because he likes that stuff or whatever. I'm also sure Jimin will tour too eventually, as he said, he doesn't have enough songs just yet. But he will have more. The only injustice I see is them not letting Jimin film more music videos. And the timing of the album release.

The timing is not fair. I already said this when On the Street was announced and I didn't take it well that Hoseok was announcing his enlistment and single at the same time because we all know what that looked like -as much as I like Hoseok. Someone posted some companies prediction and said that there are 4 BTS solo albums planned for this year. FOUR. In 12 months. That should be around 3 months for each album. They had to squeeze Jimin's and Yoongi's in one month for some reason. A reason that I think will make sense when taekook get second half of the year all to themselves.

That, or hybe just really wanted yoonmin to do promo together since they've been pairing them together for a while even before the hiatus started. Hybe trying to make it look like they're still a family that goes to sleep together every night is really fucking hilarious, if not sad.

Honestly, it makes 100 times more sense for Yoongi to have released his album first, and then leave for tour and have Jimin release now in April. But I'm telling you, and I've said before, they did this on purpose T_T I'm not changing my mind unless Jimin himself says "I chose to release this day."

I don't really mind if the fandom will focus on yoongi... they're fans for a reason. It seems useless to complain about army focusing on BTS members because that's what they're supposed to do. I guess they feel they already did everything they could for Jimin, and everyone seriously did a lot; and now they'll try to get same or similar results for the other members. Jimin really paved the way. And again, it's not the fandom's fault, it's the company's fault.

The one thing I'm mad about is that he should be in the military already. He's been dodging that like... It should be him going, not Hoseok.

Confession time : Im not even too sad about her leaving Valentino because in reality, my top5 of her all time best looks don't even include any Valentino look😅 They make some good stuff, and it was nice while it lasted, but I'm not opposed to some change and I never really adored the Valentino looks anyway. Also, I know she has the power to have a very flexible contract and wherever she is, she'll always be able to have custom made and archival looks from other fashion houses (and in my personal opinion, that's her power stands). She can be a LV girl and still serve looks in other brands, and in a few years become a Loewe ambassador and do the same..etc etc. Her being with LV doesn't mean she's wear them for every single public appearance. Even if you're a LV hater, you'll just have to look the other way when she's gonna wear them, but I promise you she's gonna wear other brands too, regularly, so 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

3 - theres a moment in their second one fine day where hoshi is losing his mind bc he needed to switch teams (for some rough context he and wonwoo had been like '''feuding''' or something and hoshi wanted to get back at him, but in order to do that they needed to stay on the same team or something) and then wonwoo, mid-hoshi freaking out, goes 'hoshi-ya finger guns', and hoshi, not missing a BEAT does the finger guns back and i swear to god…i lose my mind every time 😭😭😭 theyre so stupid but i cried laughing the first time i watched it omg….
