how bad are things going to look for us when real madrid inevitably signs mbappé? obviously he's a top player but how much will he bring to their team, especially against us? they already have a strong left wing (just ignore this question if i'm being obnoxious by asking lol i'm just wondering if you have any thoughts)
Aaah anon, the billion dollar question, to which I'm real not qualified to answer. I don't know jack shit about this.
All I can say is he's a phenomenal player, but as we saw before with a certain team, getting a bunch of world-talented players together doesn't equal success. You gotta balance the team. It's like if City got him; how on earth do you make Mbappé and Haaland play at the same time, when Pep hasn't even found a sure way to play Julian and Haaland yet. To me tho, I think it can be interesting what could come up with him going to Madrid. Vini has taken the left wing and I don't see him moving any time soon; he's getting better and better by the week. But you don't buy Mbappé for him to stay on the bench. So the only thing I can see would be, esp since the retirement of Benzema, for him to serve as a "striker" or a similar positionnement, esp since he can drop deep as he did in PSG. He doesn't have the experience of Benzema or such, but it's a start. Plus with the midfield they're building, the front would be served well. And, if needed, he could go on the wing. Now idk how Ancelotti could do it, idk how Mbappé would accept it (he wouldn't have the disrespect to do a pivot gang, which by the way I am still astounded he did, since Madrid is, unlike PSG a serious institution where no player whatsoever, be they Ronaldo, Hazard or Benzema, is above the club and the team.) and, most important of all, idk how the chemistry would be between him and the rest. But if it worked, then yeah, it'd be a real threat, especially on the quick counterattacks. Can you picture Vinicius and Mbappé launched together? Rodrygo too. You gotta have strong, quick, young, smart, energetic defence. Which, oh! We do!
That's why I'm not really alarmed. People make it seem worse than it is, just like this ridiculous thing with Bayern. The club held up to Zidane's Galacticos; and held up to the BBC's era. It's just another combination, and it's really exciting, actually, to push our team to be better. We had a good defence last year? Get it better, because you have no choice. How will Araújo, Koundé, Baldé, Christensen improve? How will we deal with the injuries - cause without them, it's a big no-no. How can we keep and move the ball (esp with Busquets gone), defend the counterattacks like that one against Betis, work on our own (we can't rely on Dembélé alone, and Lewandowski can't be our sole goalscorer if we want to be serious about Europe), etc. We gotta improve our mentality, cause we can't afford to crumble after taking a goal. It will also make us not take la Liga for granted, which is something that we used to do for the past decade. Madrid will def be a threat if they figure where to play Mbappé and if he adapts well, but, as we're getting back together as a team, it will be exciting, and perhaps precisely what we need to develop and strenghten those areas of our game. Once again tho, I don't know anything, I'm no coach nor tactician, and we'll just see what happens on the pitch eh?

The Barca line of dreams, "Re-determination"
Luis Suarez (Gremio) is scheduled to join Inter Miami.
Spain's Marca report, "The next player to join Lionel Messi in Miami is Suarez. Suarez will leave Gremio as soon as possible."
He added: “Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba will soon meet former colleagues. The best Barcelona member of all time and the winner of the treble under Luis Enrique, they will welcome Suarez, while David Beckham will complete the dream he has been striving for since his arrival in Miami. “I will,” he added.
Lastly, "Miami was missing the most important decoration - a goalscorer who could finish every chance. The reason Suarez was unable to go to the United States was because he had difficulties with the termination of his contract with Gremio," a source close to the player said. According to sources, Suarez and Gremio's contracts are expected to expire in December, completing one of the most exciting transfers in recent football history.
Suarez is a player who has had an amazing career. He scored 111 goals and 68 assists in 159 games for Ajax, 82 goals and 46 assists in 133 games for Liverpool, 195 goals and 113 assists in 283 games for Barcelona, and 34 goals and 6 assists in 83 games for Atletico Madrid.
In particular, during his time at Barcelona, he enjoyed numerous honors with fantastic teammates. He has won La Liga four times, the Copa del Rey four times, the Supercopa de España twice, the Champions League once, the UEFA Super Cup once and the Club World Cup once.
Now that he is nearing the end of his career, Suarez has left Europe and is active in other regions. He joined his ‘home team’ Club Nacional de Futbol on a short-term contract last summer. And he finished top of the league with 8 goals and 3 assists. This year, since wearing the Gremio uniform, he has played 43 games, scoring 18 goals and 13 assists. Along with this, he lifted the Campeonato Gaucho and Le Copa Gaucha cups.
Suarez's final destination is Miami. Miami has been trying to recruit Suarez since this summer. However, it was ultimately canceled due to opposition from Gremio at the time. The winter transfer window is approaching, and a transfer has actually become a possibility. Miami coach Gerardo Martino said at a recent press conference, "When the moment comes to formalize the situation between Miami and Suarez, we will be prepared to move in the appropriate direction."
Moreover, according to 'Marca', Suarez's joining Miami has become a fait accompli. Messi, Busquets, Alba, and even Suarez. Barcelona's dream line is set to be formed again.

Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro GOIH ComM (Portuguese pronunciation: [kɾiʃˈtjɐnu ʁɔˈnaɫdu]; born 5 February 1985) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a forward and captains the Portugal national team. He is currently a free agent. Widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, Ronaldo has won five Ballon d'Or awards[note 3] and four European Golden Shoes, the most by a European player. He has won 34 trophies in his career, including seven league titles, five UEFA Champions Leagues, the UEFA European Championship and the UEFA Nations League. Ronaldo holds the records for most appearances (183), goals (140), and assists (42) in the Champions League, goals in the European Championship (14), international goals (118), and joint-most international appearances (196). He is one of the few players to have made over 1,100 professional career appearances, and has scored over 800 official senior career goals for club and country. He is the only male player to score in five World Cup tournaments.
Ronaldo began his senior career with Sporting CP, before signing with Manchester United in 2003, at age 18, winning the FA Cup in his first season. He would also go on to win three consecutive Premier League titles, the Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup; at age 23, he won his first Ballon d'Or. Ronaldo was the subject of the then-most expensive association football transfer when he signed for Real Madrid in 2009 in a transfer worth €94 million (£80 million). There he became a key contributor and formed an attacking trio with Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale, dubbed BBC, they were integral to the team win four Champions League wins from 2014 to 2018, including La Décima. During this period, he won back-to-back Ballons d'Or in 2013 and 2014, and again in 2016 and 2017, was runner-up three times behind Lionel Messi, his perceived career rival, became the club's all-time top goalscorer and the all-time top scorer in the Champions League, after finished as the competition's top scorer for six consecutive seasons between 2012 to 2018. With Real Madrid, Ronaldo won two La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey, four UEFA Champions League, three UEFA Super Cup and three FIFA Club World Cup titles. In 2018, he signed for Juventus in a transfer worth an initial €100 million (£88 million), the most expensive transfer for an Italian club and for a player over 30 years old. He won two Serie A titles, two Supercoppa Italiana trophies and a Coppa Italia, became the inaugural Serie A Most Valuable Player and the first footballer to finish as top scorer in the English, Spanish and Italian leagues, before returning to Manchester United in 2021. He left in 2022, after his contract with the club was terminated.
Ronaldo made his international debut for Portugal in 2003 at the age of 18 and has since earned over 190 caps, making him Portugal's most-capped player. With more than 100 goals at international level, he is also the nation's all-time top goalscorer. Ronaldo has played in and scored at 11 major tournaments; he scored his first international goal at Euro 2004, where he helped Portugal reach the final. He assumed captaincy of the national team in July 2008. In 2015, Ronaldo was named the best Portuguese player of all time by the Portuguese Football Federation. The following year, he led Portugal to their first major tournament title at Euro 2016, and received the Silver Boot as the second-highest goalscorer of the tournament. This achievement would see him receive his fourth Ballon d'Or. He also led them to a third-place finish at the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup, to victory in the inaugural UEFA Nations League in 2019, receiving the top scorer award in the finals, and later received the Golden Boot as top scorer of Euro 2020.
One of the world's most marketable and famous athletes, Ronaldo was ranked the world's highest-paid athlete by Forbes in 2016 and 2017 and the world's most famous athlete by ESPN from 2016 to 2019. Time included him on their list of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2014. He is the first footballer and the third sportsman to earn US$1 billion in his career.

Rivaldo's nickname is "The Devil's Left Foot".
Rivaldo's nickname is "The Devil's Left Foot".
Tumblr media
A former Brazilian footballer whose main position was attacking midfielder, he was also a free-roll striker with no special role. His nickname is "Devil's Left Foot".
When he was active, he had the best of his club career, leading two consecutive La Liga titles in Barcelona, winning the Ballon d'Or and FIFA Player of the Year, and also led his country to win the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup in the Brazilian national team.
He is also known as a midfielder, and technically, he was close to an attacker who could play flexibly from strikers to attacking midfielders. In particular, he was the best player in a two-top or three-top position, and in his heyday, he played as a central attacking midfielder or a left free-roll striker for the club. In the national team, he often played for the two-top, and even when he played for Olympiacos after his heyday, he was mainly a right striker for the two-top.
Hibaudu's biggest advantage is a terrifying left-footed kick. The accuracy and power of both left-footed shots and crosses were the highest ever, so known as the devil's left foot, and both free kicks, mid-range shots, penalty kicks, and crosses were good. Even the acrobatic bicicle kick is very powerful. Also, the ball touch was very good, and what's interesting is that I didn't know if almost all the ball touches were conscious or instinctive, but I only did it with my left foot. Since the car is also left foot, it is practically not using one foot, but nevertheless, it showed sensuous and wonderful play. In that sense, it is similar to the famous Hungarian legend Ferenc Puskas.
He was also good at physical fight and main force. The main force is actually a little vague, but the maximum speed is very fast and the instantaneous deceleration at the maximum speed is also excellent, but the acceleration and agility are poor. If you replace it with Korea, it is similar considering Seol Ki-hyun, a national university. However, he was good at playing using physical skills such as playing even if he lacked a little acceleration or agility, so he broke the defense line with a storm breakthrough or pass with a left-footed technique after securing his space in a narrow gap between defenders. In other words, he was forced to take the lead because he was not confident in winning if he stuck to the defense because he had a scary kick, and when he was a little far away, he was forced to take the lead because he had fast feet and good kick power.
It is relatively less prominent because it is buried in the tremendous kick power, but it was also a master of cut-in dribble, famous for Arjen Robben's frequent dribble skills. If there is a difference, Robben is a dribble in the form of hitting in the same direction several times to find a loophole in the defense, and Hibaudu freely adjusts the direction of the bend and creates an angle that can be shot at any time. Also, the cut-in movement is much more dynamic than Robben because Hibaudu uses his whole body for fake movements, changing the upper body angle very often.
He was a big game player who was especially strong in big games. He was not a strong mental player who could be called mental, but rather a type of player who enjoyed the game like Ronaldinho, but he was especially strong in big games or crisis situations. As soon as he joined Barcelona, he started with a league trophy and a king's cup trophy, and even when Barca Squad faltered due to Louis van Gaal's anti-medication in 1999, Hibauduman remained the same and won the Champions League top scorer of the season. Soon after, of course, Banhal was replaced. Victory in a die match against the coach Until a kid broke the record in November 2010, the position of the most goalscorer in the Champions League history in Barcelona was up to him.
And the final match of the 2000-01 season, which is still talked about. The team's atmosphere was not a mess, so he had to bring his rival Valencia CF home and play the last 38 rounds. Until then, Barca was in fifth place, three points short of Valencia, and it was a desperate situation where they had to win to qualify for the Champions League. And that day, Hibaudu became a hero. The result was a 3–2 hat-trick by Hibaudu. Be sure to look for the bike kick when it's the last blow to seal the victory. I'm out of breath.
His ability to cope with the crisis is also fully demonstrated in the World Cup squad, especially at the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup. He scored a penalty kick against Turkey in the first leg of the group stage to win the match 2–1, and scored an equalizer against England to set the stage for a turnaround. And throughout the World Cup, he left a deep impression by showing a completely different appearance from the existing Hibaudu. Unlike the existing character, which was followed by the word greed, he showed a thorough focus on doubling Ronaldo's scoring ability. Just as he scored an equalizer against England, he solved it himself depending on the situation, so I wonder if he played more than Ronaldo. Except for the Hollywood action against Turkey in the first round of the group stage, he led the championship with a near-perfect appearance.
However, Hibaudu's biggest weakness is greed. He played many roles as a shadow striker or an inside forward in Barcelona and the Brazilian national team, which is the peak of his career, but he was originally close to a goal hunter, and so was Mentality. Of course, there was no big problem because of his outstanding ability, but he was greedy to take the decisive moment, and the chance he blew was quite good. Greed is called greed because if you succeed with a goal, no one can touch it and rather applauds it, but it is not usually like that. Johann Cruyff said that even though he is a great technician with Hibaudu, he always plays with difficulty due to his poor positioning. Of course, these words are meant to mean that the player who has already reached the top can do better.

I am a huge fan of your blog and I respect your opinions, so I just wanted to clarify the lewandowski situation a little. I’m from Poland and lewandowski is a national hero for us, just like messi is for Argentinians. He is very humble and hardworking. He truly got robbed for 2020 and it’s so sad as a fan of his because that was his moment. I watched the interview you are referencing, and of course that quote was taken out of context. Lewa talked about how honored he was to compete with messi, the greatest footballer of all time, for the award. He talked about being very sad when he found out he didn’t win. The interviewer baited him with the question about how he felt about Messi’s comment that he should win 2020 and if he felt it was empty words and he just said he hopes it was honest and not empty words. He was just using the words of the interviewer. No bad blood here! Also these terrible gossip sites are so bad at translating from polish bc it’s a very difficult language. You know how often words are taken out of context. The dude is just sad:(
Hi!! 💖 thank you so much for clarifying, honestly, the statement surprised me because it didn't sound like Robert at all, or at least, the impression I had of him. I respect him a lot as a football player and person and I think he's the best striker in the world at the moment. Knowing Lionel... he never speaks or says something if he doesn't feel/think it genuinely because he's not a man of many words. So I feel like Leo declaring that Lewa should get his award was 100% honest. I understand that he's disappointed and his fans too, and I know I'm probably biased because Messi is from my country, but I feel like with the status of Barcelona as a club people overlooked all his efforts this year, he was still the top goalscorer of La Liga, he won La Copa del Rey, he won La Copa America (the equivalent of the Euros) being the top goalscorer and the MVP, etc. so the award was fair from my point of view. But I agree with Lio, Lewa should totally get last year's award because of his performances regionally and the Champions League, his records are completely insane.
No bad blood here either my friend, thanks for sending this message! And what a class duo you have over there: Lewa and Ewa 🙌🏽
Have a nice day! 💌

FC BARCELONA 3 - 0 MANCHESTER CITY
Okay, let's talk about this for a second. Because we need to talk about them. We have to.
Tumblr media
In the last 3 seasons we've seen the Blaugrana ladies really step it up in the highest continental competition:
Finalists in 2019
Semi-finalists in 2020 (out on a 1-0 in a one-legged tie)
And now 95% into the semis again unless something extreme happens and well they emulate the dumbasses... WHICH I HIGHLY DOUBT! But football can be unpredictable, weird, and unfair... anyways... I digress.
Back to the match in particular and the whole team vibe in general.
Yep, you guessed it, time for some stats.
Goalscorers / Goals scored:
Tumblr media
The ladies have scored 20 goals so far in the 5 matches they've played, an average of 4 goals per match.
They have also so far conceded 2 goals (both against PSV), an average of 0.4 goals per match
As I'm writing this, Jenni, thanks to her late strike today, is the Competition's top scorer for now with 5 goals. Lieke and Asisat are the team's second UWCL top scorer with 3.
Tumblr media
the Competition scorers are:
Jenni 5
Asisat 3
Lieke 3
Caroline 2
Aitana 2
Mariona 2
Marta 1
Alexia 1
An OG (PSV)

Game Dominance
Many have thrown around the fact that the team has scored as many goals in La Liga because it's simply La Liga Iberdrola, but it is beyond that... way beyond it.
This team does not only play a match, they control it, in all its aspects. The balance that is present in the way they play is something to not be taken lightly.
It's no surprise that they have scored that many goals with the number of chances they create per match (and trust me they miss a big portion of them, which may be the only aspect that needs to be worked on extensively).
Today's match showed that dominance, albeit not that extravagantly as other matches usually do (57% possession of the ball compared to the 73% we had vs Fortuna and the 71% vs PSV), but come on, we are talking about facing the 2nd top team in England here, prop where it's due, they pushed our buttons and caused problems. But we dealt with those problems and controlled them.
On average the team has had an average of 65.4% of possession throughout the course of these matches.
Top teams will make it difficult, the remaining UWCL teams are no walk in the park that is for damn sure. More difficult tests are coming and Lluis needs to fix the lapses in the team's game, because missing that many chances against a Lyon or a Bayern or any of the remaining teams will not be taken so lightly as say missing that many chances against Sevilla or Real Madrid, because those teams will most likely not allow that many chances to be created and taken against them.
We took 16 shots on goal today, 7 of them were on target, and Ellie Roebuck did a great job in keeping her team in the game for as much as she could by saving 4 of them.
Tumblr media
On the flip side, it is also no surprise at all that they have conceded so little. The amount of pressure they put on to recover the ball, the organization of the lines, the 'all-in on everything' mentality they display should be highly credited as well.
Tumblr media
Mapi, Pere, Leila, Marta.. What a defensive line, with Patri Ana and Melanie coming on to help with holding attackers away. Truly marvelous work from them.
Compared to other matches, City took 10 shots against us, 5 of which were on target. The highest number of shots we have conceded so far, which again is understandable because it is after all Manchester City.
Now, let's talk about Sandra for a second, because I feel we don't talk about her enough, and well that in itself is a crime.
Tumblr media
Sandra Paños, the reason the girls are able to play the way they do because they have THAT much security at the back. Today proved to be a great example of that security. Manchester City had a huge chance today which Sandra wonderfully stopped. Add the incredible penalty save, which would have given the Citizens a huge morale boost. That save was half a qualification. A sure-fire away goal was denied thanks to that save. And well, the couple of others she made today.
This team has been under so much work and has been building and evolving steadily and surely to finally be able to lift this trophy, and hopefully we get to do it this season.
March madness
Tumblr media
The Blaugrana ladies have played six matches so far in the month of March and have won all of them, scoring 24 goals and conceding 0.
2 matches remain for this month
✈ La Liga, Round 24 vs Sevilla, Sunday 28th at 18:00 PM CET
✈ UWCL 1/4 finals 2nd leg vs ManCity, Wednesday 31st at 18:00 PM CET
