I told myself I wouldn't but that wedgie annon for max awakened something in me and I can't stop thinking about it.
you know who else would be into giving you wedgies and making you cum like that? college!bff!danny!
not only is he doing it, he's doing it in public settings too since we know he's not shy. imagine stepping out of a party to catch your breath and he's behind you, grabbing the elastic of the thong peaking out of your lowrise jeans and pulling, there's nothing you can do beside moan and brace yourself against the nearest tree, hoping none of the drunk frat boys stumble upon you.
or he's doing it in public library, in between dusty old shelves and he's dragging and pulling on your panties, painfully stimulating your clit. laughing when you whine how he ruined all your underwear and telling you that you'll just have to go bare in that case and he'll find another way to pleasure (tease) you in the outside world.
wedgie anon look at the service you've done for all of us !!! and you are so real i was literally thinking about collegeau!danny while writing it!!!
bon's thoughts (18+)
i love the idea of him in a public library. you're trying to look through the shelves to find a book needed for this research paper you're writing and from the corner of your eye, you see your best friend danny walking over with a smug smile on his face. you're wearing that miniskirt he loves to talk about so much, so how could he resist when he sees you on your tippy toes to grab a book, giving him a clear view of your underwear?
you're smacking the back of his head with the book in your hands, but he grabs it and tosses it to the side, a hand on your throat as he spins you around to your ass against his crotch, and he's chuckling about how his best friend's nothing more than a filthy slut.
"danny, not now, what if we get caught?" you ask, and he rolls his eyes,
"ok, that didn't stop us last time when we fucked in the lecture hall 5 minutes before the professor arrived"
fair point. and you really hated him for that.
"if we get kicked out of the library-"
"that's on you, sweetheart, no one asked you to wear this skirt," he grins, pulling your skirt up to reveal your panties and he's tugging on it hard. he's snickering at the way your legs kick out, a strangled cry escaping your lips as he presses a bit harder on your throat, "shh, you gotta be quiet, you don't wanna get kicked out of the library do you?" he whispers in a mocking tone.
he's keeping you on edge for the next 5 minutes, loving the way you're squirming and begging for him to keep going and when you finally do cum after an arduous battle with him, he's giggling hysterically, he's thriving for this. he crouches down to face your cunt and carefully rips your panties in half. you can't even yell at him because there's a student on the other aisle, blissfully unaware of the filth happening and you don't want to bring attention to the matter. you glare at danny on the ground, who's stuffing your panties in his pocket before smacking your cute ass,
"good luck finding that book, try reaching for the top shelves now," he laughs and you're about to kill him when he vanishes from your sight. he pokes his head back in just for a split second with a smirk on his face, "i do hope you won't ask that boy on the other aisle to help you right?"
"and what if i do, danny?" you snort, rolling your eyes.
"i'll burn your entire set of panties in your dorm, and make sure everyone sees your sweet cunt," and he walks off as if he didn't just say the dirtiest thing ever. you scoff at his words, but deep down you knew he was being dead serious.
that's why you asked the sweet boy on the other aisle to come help you, knowing daniel was in earshot and he's laughing to himself as he's checking out a book.
that little slut.

Every time, you guys. Every time I look into alternatives to Lulu.com for self-publishing I come up with “Wow Lulu really is the best of a bad set of options, huh?”
Recently, Draft2Digital bought Smashwords in order to bring a print book company under their aegis; they’d formerly only done ebooks. I thought I might investigate them as an alternative to Lulu, which I’ve used for about twelve years now. For ebooks I would venture D2D is probably top of the line. For print books they are....not.
I’m writing this out half so other folks can see it but half so that in the future I can look this up and remind myself of why I’m still with Lulu.
TLDR: Not only does Draft2Digital want 60% of my print book royalties where Lulu takes 0%, and $30 for a proof that costs me $11 at Lulu, but I also appear to have solved the problem of why Lulu was making me price my books so goddamn artificially high. Which is like. Honestly the best anti-anxiety drug I’ve experienced this week.
Basically there are a number of elements that go into self-publishing with a print-on-demand service. For some publishers, there’s a “setup fee” which doesn’t really set anything up, it’s just there to be a fee, everything is done by computer on the back end. Traditionally, Lulu has not charged a setup fee. Smashwords used to charge $50, but Draft2Digital currently waives it. I was heartened by that because the setup fee was keeping me from migrating, since I can afford $50 but I balk at knowing I’m paying them $50 for nothing.
Next is the cost of printing -- what it costs the company in paper, ink, machinery, labor, etc, to just make a book with no profit. Lulu’s price calculus isn’t super clear and I’ve never bothered looking at what the breakdown is, because they’re pretty up-front -- they tell you in the process of setting the book up how much it’ll cost. In this case, a 140-page 6x9 trade paperback, no frills, which is how all my books are printed, is $5. Draft2Digital doesn’t tell you the flat price anywhere but they do offer the breakdown information; it costs $1.22 flat plus $0.0133 per page. So, for a 140 page book, the at-cost is $3.08. So far so good.
Now, if you’re going to sell through Lulu, the “at cost” is the minimum price. You won’t make any money but you CAN charge just $5 for a $5 book. Any pricing above that is your cut. So -- let’s price this 140 page trade paperback at $13-$15. That’s a bit high to be honest but let’s just see. At Lulu, your take is roughly $6-$8 based on those prices, because you’re just dropping out the cost of printing from the retail price.
At Draft2Digital, the same 140-page trade paperback, which remember is quoted as costing roughly $1.20 less to print than Lulu charges, gets you $2.75-$3.50 in royalties per book.
....wait, what?
So now we need to sidetrack a little but I promise it’s for a reason. One of the motivations for looking into a change to Draft2Digital is that I didn’t like that Lulu was setting higher “minimum prices” than I was accustomed to -- they would tell me the book only cost $5 to print but require me to sell it for $12 or similar, and I couldn’t work out why. I’m an idiot but the penny did finally drop: it’s because when you distribute them outside of Lulu (say, on Amazon or Barnes & Noble or similar) your royalties drop like a stone. $7 in royalties purchased through Lulu comes out to like twenty-five cents purchased through Amazon. So Lulu forces you to price the book at a point where you even GET royalties and don’t end up weirdly owing Amazon money. The “global distribution” is what’s driving that minimum up.
So in price-quoting a competitor I actually solved the problem with Lulu.
Which is good, because the fun doesn’t stop there. If you want a proof copy of a book from Lulu, it’s the at-cost of the book, plus tax, plus postage. Buying a proof copy of this book from Lulu would cost me $11. Lulu makes you order a new proof copy every time you make a change, which is shady, but usually I only need to make 1-2 changes across the life of a book, so at most the cost will probably be $35 and for that I’ll get three copies of the book. Draft2Digital doesn’t give you an option. If you want a proof pre-publication, it’s $30 flat. If you want to publish and then buy a copy you can, but you can only make one change to the book every 90 days once it’s published. If you want to make more than one change, it’s $25 every time you upload a new version of the manuscript within that 90 day period.
So Draft2Digital’s books cost less to print but they take a massive cut of your royalties out of the retail cost of the book. If the book costs $3 to print, and I price it at $15, that’s $12 in profit on the book. Of that $12, however, I only receive $4. Draft2Digital literally wants 2/3 of my royalties per book. They want $20 more than Lulu to send me a proof copy. If I need to correct the proof, the correction is free, but I’m assuming the second proof will also cost me $30. Any changes after that, within 90 days, will cost $25 plus $30 for a new proof.
Which means my upfront costs at Lulu are about $35 per published book; to do the same thing at Draft2Digital is between $60 and $105 depending on whether I need to make changes after the second proof copy. And even after that, my royalties at Lulu are just about twice what they would be at Draft2Digital per purchase.
So, well, Lulu it is. And the problem I was having with Lulu is solved if I decide to just retail through Lulu rather than selling globally. Which...selling globally has done two things that I’m aware of:
1. Fucked up my author page so badly on Amazon that one of my books is still attributed to Kathleen Starbuck, and one of her books is for sale on my author page.
2. Raised the minimum price I’m allowed to set my books at by like, 40%.
So I think probably what’s going to happen is going forward my books will be for sale only on Lulu. I can still assign them ISBNs and they still will ship worldwide, and the prices will fall significantly. My deepest apologies to those of you who have paid an artificially inflated price for the last few books; I’m going to fix that going forward, I’m going to go in and try to fix it retroactively in the books that are already on Lulu, and if it’s any consolation at least the cash came to me, and TWO THIRDS OF IT didn’t go to Lulu.
It’s gonna take me a little time, untangling Lulu’s relationship to other retailers is tricky, but eventually the Shivadh Omnibus and Twelve Points should come down significantly in price, and there ought to be a dollar or two drop for the older books as well.
This is why it always pays to do the math, even if like me you are dreadful at it.

Jeux sans frontières
Beta suggestions
From @ritemate
my suggestion, Miss: A tug-of-war, where two boys each has the end of a rope tied to his beta genitals, and must strive to move forward, by dragging his opponent backwards, to reach the feet of a girl and kiss them. The other girls can use riding crops to encourage them. The loser must give the winner a blow job.
From @pa2girlboss
Beta Decathlon - a series of challenges where each beta is awarded points for top performance. Beta with highest point total at the end wins. Hand laundry - Pour 4oz of coffee or red wine on a pair of panties for beta to hand wash. Winners will be judged on time and cleanliness.
Groveling - beta will pose in front of the judges on hands and knees and explain why he should be awarded “Top Groveler”. Top marks to most convincing supplicant.
Crumb cleaning - hide 10 or 20 small items (beads would be perfect) around the room. Allow first beta to enter and time him on finding all the hidden “crumbs”. Send him away, re-hide the crumbs in the same locations and repeat with the next beta. For an added challenge, don’t tell them the number of crumbs before they start. Quicker picker upper wins. Establish penalties for missed crumbs.
Cooking - assign betas to prepare their best tea sandwiches in under 30 minutes. Judges award points for taste.
Wine selection - each beta must bring a bottle of wine in the $25-35 price range. Judges award points for taste, uniqueness and optionally for quality of wine service.
Decoration - assign each beta a section of the room to decorate for the event in advance. Award points for attractiveness, adherence to theme and creativity.
Slipper fetching - beta is told to fetch slippers from another room. beta encounters a number of unexpected hurdles in the process: slippers aren’t in expected location, right and left slippers not together, slippers don’t match description given, …. betas are judged on autonomy, problem-solving and adaptability.
Fashion sense - each beta is given one square yard of fabric, scissors, a stapler and safety pins. beta must use these and only these items to construct an outfit that he will wear with nothing else on. You might have them model with a catwalk, or wear their outfit for the whole event.
Rub off - women are blindfolded. Each beta gets 5 minutes to anonymously massage the feet of each lady. Each lady then stack ranks the quality of their massages before the betas’ identities are revealed. Winner is the beta with highest average rank.
Command following - betas play a round of "Mistress Says", a spicier version of "Simon Says" you played in school. Be sure to put the betas in uncomfortable and humiliating positions, then release them without saying, "Mistress says".
Gold medal winner gets 10 bare bottom swats from the lady of his choice. Silver medalist gets 10 swats from each of two women, selected by the women. Bronze medalist gets 10 swats from all of the ladies. If there are more than three betas, the remaining losers get sent home.
From MsFern
"The Simp". In this game, everyone writes down their most embarrassing moments on pieces of paper and puts them in a bowl. Then, betas take turns drawing a piece of paper from the bowl and having to act out the embarrassing moment while the others cheer them on.
"Unfair Treatment". The beta boy who is chosen to be the target for the night is given a list of tasks and challenges to complete within a certain amount of time. If the beta boy fails any task, he must perform a degrading action such as begging or groveling.

The Best Games of 2004 | 20 Years Gone
A long time ago, in the late 00s, I REALLY wanted to be a Video Games Journalist. I was writing and podcasting for local tech website Techpedition and we even worked our way to E3 2009. I was able to parley my mask of legitimacy into getting a couple dozen free games from publishers, but was never able to break into the "business".
It's fine, I've still paid super close attention to the industry and have a handful of podcasts that I follow. One thing that I missed out on was creating the end-of-year best-of lists that have become so popular with pundits of video games. Partially because I didn't have a big enough outlet for it to matter, but more so because I didn't have the resources to play all the relevant games within their release years to render a judgment.
I typically get around to playing all the games I'm interested in, but it usually takes me about 2-5 years. It's partially a time thing but mostly a budget thing. So, what this is, is the beginning of my trip through the last 20 years of video games. I'll be creating a top 10 list for the last 15 years and going forward, I'll post a new list every year of the top 10 from 5 years ago. That is assuming I keep up with it, lol.
These will be written as if they were published the year of the list, so there will be no references to future games or better sequels, etc. Let's get started. Travel with me back to the year 2004 which, news flash, is now 20 years ago.
Tumblr media
#10 - Metroid: Zero Mission
Not only is Zero Mission a solid remake of the classic original Metroid, but it succeeds at both making it feel modern and ultimately super-playable, which isn't something you can say about the old NES game.
Tumblr media
#9 - Prince of Persia: The Warrior Within
Much more agro than its predecessor, The Warrior Within builds on the foundation of the standout Sands of Time and smooths out a lot of the jagged edges, specifically in the combat department. Your mileage will likely be tied to how much you like Godsmack-itude, but POP2 is a great sequel.
Tumblr media
#8 - Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
Paper Mario was a weird novelty and shadow follow-up to Super Mario RPG, but despite its clear creative direction, it was missing the character needed to fully succeed in the RPG space. The Thousand-Year Door has character in spades, and it will charm your staples off.
Tumblr media
#7 - Sly 2: Band of Thieves
Making Sly Cooper into an open-world heist game took what was a decent platformer to the next level. Where the first game was a solid third place behind Ratchet and Clank and Jak and Daxter, Sly 2 makes the argument that it's a top-tier Sony series. Each mission matters and each of its characters is special.
Tumblr media
#6 - Pikmin 2
Better than its predecessor in every way, Pikmin 2 shows the first game's primary game loop wasn't a fluke. The addition of Louie, as a second playable character who's played simultaneously with Olimar, adds a heightened level of stress, making each recovery mission a manic exercise in task prioritization.
Tumblr media
#5 - Halo 2
Is Halo 2 as impactful as Halo: Combat Evolved? Not really. The story isn't stellar, and the surprise Arbitor missions are little more than a pallet swap, but dropping the proven Halo action onto the Xbox Live service is game and industry-changing. I'm not a multiplayer guy, but I enjoyed the single player and I recognize how important Halo 2's success is to gaming as a whole.
Tumblr media
#4 - Mario vs Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong '94, on the Game Boy, is secretly one of the best games of 1994. Mario vs. Donkey is Nintendo fleshing out that idea and making an addictive puzzle platformer. It starts out simple and sweet and ends hard and satisfying. Had this been the direction the Donkey Kong franchise went rather than Rare's DK Country series, SNES games may have had a very different trajectory.
Tumblr media
#3 - Spider-Man 2
Licensed games always suck. Movie tie-in games always suck. Spider-Man 2 is an anomaly on top of an anomaly and it's 100% powered by the Swinging mechanic Treyarch built for the web-crawler. It feels SO good to swing around NYC that it's hard to believe Spider-Man as a character wasn't created specifically for video games.
Tumblr media
#2 - Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal
R&C3 is undoubtedly a great game, I'd even say damn near perfect, but its placement this high on the list may seem a bit weird. That's where my opinion comes in. I'm a huge 3D platformer fan, it's probably my favorite genre. With that factored in with the depth and polish of this shiny new Ratchet game, #2 on the list doesn't seem so outlandish.
Tumblr media
#1 - Half-Life 2
There's always talk of "importance" when it comes to works of art. Abbey Road is important, Michelangelo's David is important, and even A Clockwork Orange is important. Video Games, a medium that's still technically in its infancy, has only a handful of important titles. I'd say Half-Life 2 fits the bill. It's use of physics as a gaming mechanic is as technically impressive as it is clever. It's an FPS but it's not "just an FPS" and the mood and tone established throughout are as compelling as that of Blade Runner. Half-Life 2 is a stunner that will be studied for years.
Notable Omissions:
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - I've never liked GTA games. I respect their scope and ambition, but when it comes to playing them as games, GTA titles just stink.
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater - I've never gotten into the Metal Gear games and the more people yell at me to play them, the less I want to.
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap - This one technically came out in North America in 2005. So, with me being from the US, It will hit next year's list.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords - I might end up playing this one eventually, but as of 2024 I have not.
What are your favorite video games from 2004?
See you next time. Cheers!

A little bit about me…
Far as online is concerned, I would be recognized as a muse-stricken fanfiction writer. I started writing fan fiction 23 years ago on fanfiction.net. The first work posted online was Party with the Old Fly-Boys, fandom was JAG and the ship was Harm/Mac, that was September of 2000. And it went from there… Over time, I wrote 100 pieces of work for 26 fandoms ranging from books, television and movies and 27 different ships’. Since, my works have been purged (found only on my inactive LiveJournal) because they no longer reflect me as a writer. For years I’ve been trying to get back on the saddle, but my muse only goes as far as the ideas. Soon as I try to transcribe to paper or type it, I draw a major blank. Writer’s block for the last two decades has been disheartening. I still try, leaving things in my drafts and such but I usually just end up deleting it all and starting completely over. Amazing how one can feel like they’re on top of the moon writing to not being able to muster even a drabble.
Outside of writing? I’m a full-time mom to 2 autistic sons. Wife to a marine veteran, Semper Fi and thank a veteran or active member for their service they will appreciate it. And to top that already full plate I am a full-time daughter to my mothers. If I’m not taking care of something to do with them then I’m dealing with the horde of animals, we have. 9 dogs and 18 cats we have strays coming in all the time. I basically run a rescue all on my own and with my own money (but not a legit rescue just FEELS like I’m running a rescue).
What do I love?
Yellowstone I don't know that I will finish watching this series after all the behind-the-scenes drama with Sheridan and Costner. I just don't think they can pull off a decent ending to a train wreck without Costner coming back. 1923 I can’t wait for season 2, I’m beginning to lean toward Spencer and Alex being the grandparents of John Dutton III in Yellowstone. Shame this series has the been the best of the Yellowstone Universe thus far. Outlander I'm going to finish the series out however it finishes but I'm drained with it. The way they have structured their last three or four seasons has been a rollercoaster, slow then rushed and it's took a lot of the joy out of watching. Reacher Season 3 still has Neagley coming back to do her usual bonding with Reacher so I will continue to tune in every season. Though I will say I liked the writing and pace in season 1 better than season 2. The Terminal List Looking forward to where this goes next season and I'm definitely looking forward to the spin-off for Taylor Kitsch. Stranger Things I resisted watching this show simply because everyone loved it and I didn't want to admit it was good. It is good, it's great even and I can't wait for the final chapter of this awesome constructed series. Reminds me how well the Babylon 5 series was. Marvel Cinematic Universe I have been a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since The Avengers. Since that moment I have been an avid MCU fan. I am not a comic fan or expert, the extent of my comic knowledge comes from the many other experts I have watched online talking about these incredible complex stories.
Who do I love?
Beth Dutton from Yellowstone. I relate to her in so many ways, like her no bullshit attitude and utter dying devotion to family. Where we differ, I don’t smoke cigarettes, I don’t drink alcohol anymore, and I would LOVE to own Yellowstone Dutton Ranch GLADLY. She hates it and would have no qualm selling it once her father passes but while he is alive, she will defend it to her last breath. Beth doesn’t let anyone scare her, she won’t let anyone get that satisfaction from her ever again since her mother died and since she lost the ability to have children. (side note: Beth has a shit ton of trauma from her childhood that contributes to her erratic often childish behavior when she lashes out, but I still love her it's what makes her the most human of them.)
Wanda Maximoff from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Most particularly in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and before you say anything let me explain. I have two sons, like Wanda did, and a husband, like Wanda did. And I imagine what it would be like to lose my husband and my children...the grief that would consume me would no doubt turn me evil, and I'm not using the word lightly. If I were in Wanda's position in Multiverse of Madness with that grief and guilt and the Darkhold in my possession anyone who stood in my way would be fucked, like the Illuminati. The only thing that would be able to stop me would be my boys, just like Wanda. And like Wanda, when she realized what she had become and how her own boys perceived her...it was enough to turn her away from the dark path and truly LOVE her sons...which is what I would hope I would do because I would only hope their love would be enough to bring me back from that place.
I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WANDA AND HER FULL REDEMPTION ARC COME TO PASS!!
SHE IS NOT DEAD.
SHE WILL GET HER OWN SOLO MOVIE BET IT WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON! (update 8/6/24 - there was no announcement of anything related to Scarlet Witch at San Diego Comic-Con)
Why did I write and post this?
I managed to actually write it out fairly quick, so you damn right I’m posting it! May not be a story but its about me so I guess in a way it is a story.
Requests for stories and Asks welcome!

5, 4, 3, 2, 1
I was tagged by the lovely @cha-melodius 💖
Rules: post the top 5 works you’re most proud of that you released in 2022 (not necessarily your most popular), your top 4 current WIPs that you’re excited to release in the new year, your top 3 biggest improvements in your writing over the past year, your top 2 resolutions (ways you wish to improve your writing/blog) for the new year, and your number 1 favorite line you’ve written this year!
Top 5 works I’m proudest of (in reverse chronological order)
1. Soon (Tarlos) because 3,700 words written in 100-word chapters was a challenge, albeit a fun one! There were times when I was tempted to just say “fuck it” and write the rest of the fic as per usual, but I’d said I was going to do it in drabbles, and I’m stubborn and competitive enough to compete against myself, so 37 very smutty, very short chapters it was! I didn’t reread the earlier parts until I’d finished the whole thing and I’m really pleased at how cohesive it was in the end.
2. Let’s Get Physical (Tarlos) because of the coding I learned (thanks @celeritas2997 !) to be able to include Instagram posts and images within the fic
3. What, like it’s hard? (RWRB) because of the sheer amount of time and effort that went into writing that fic, and I think it has some of my best writing in it.
4. what i want (what you deserve) (Tarlos) because taking a fic written by someone else, and writing the alternate pov - without simply repeating everything that was in the original fic - was tricky but fun. Thank you Lola for letting me play in your universe!
5. Feeling kind of sketchy (Schitt’s Creek) because it’s a slightly different style to the way I usually write
Top 4 current wips I’m excited about
Hmm, this isn’t strictly a list of wips as not all of these have actual words typed yet but:
1. (un)professional services, my collab with @welcometololaland - we’re just having a lot of fun!
2. More Tarlos gym au
3. RWRB lawyer au part 3 aka the reveal
4. samba!Carlos (mostly cos the image I have in my head of Carlos in this fic is 🔥 and I wanna write about him)
Top 3 improvements in my writing
This was really hard to come up with!
1. A year ago, I definitely would not have been able to tell a story that is both believable on the face of it, but also as the precursor to a fairly significant twist. See for eg, to the victor, the spoils and you’re all that i need
2. Related, but not quite the same, I think my story telling has improved generally
3. I’m checking my stats less, which is far healthier. Is that an improvement in my writing? Maybe not directly, but it’s related.
Top 2 writing resolutions
1. I’ve said this before, but to use a beta more regularly. I do a lot of beta reading myself so I know the benefits of using one, and I do generally have a friend or two living in my docs and to bounce ideas with. But I know my writing could be improved on immensely by taking the time to have a friend actually beta it!
2. I don’t have to do All The Things
Number 1 favorite line
I’m cheating and this is two lines but they belong together and I can’t split them:
They say goodbye in the watery dawn light, between soft cotton sheets, in a tangle of limbs; writing their love for each other into their bodies with every gentle sweep of their fingers, every tender brush of their lips, every roll of their hips and the press of their bodies together.
They say goodbye in the hush of words whispered into the space that feels sacred between them, reminders of a love that feels infinite and unknowable, and yet a love that Alex knows as surely as if it were tattooed onto his skin for the world to see.

Thanks for tagging me, @the-paper-monkey!
I’m afraid I’ve lost track of who’s done this at this point, so if you want to play, consider yourself tagged!
Rules:
1. Post the top 5 works you’re most proud of that you released in 2022 (not necessarily your most popular),
2. your top 4 current WIPs that you’re excited to release in the new year,
3. your top 3 biggest improvements in your writing over the past year,
4. your top 2 resolutions (ways you wish to improve your writing/blog) for the new year,
5. and your number 1 favorite line you’ve written this year!
5 works
innocent (until proven guilty) | 142290+ words | WIP
When a mishap drops Albus Dumbledore back in the 1930s, he takes every available opportunity to meddle. He averts a World War and preemptively locks up one Dark-Lord-to-be. Furthermore, he adopts a young Tom Riddle in order to keep a closer eye on his development.
This will go swimmingly. After all, Albus Dumbledore is so very good with children.
Why I like it: the mix of moods and POVs.
a learning experience | 9025 words | Complete
Voldemort spends ten years in customer service. In retrospect, this may explain certain things.
Why I like it: Hepzibah Smith and her red wine cakes.
the devil you know | 11273 words | Complete
Upon rising to power, Voldemort needs a way to dispose of Dumbledore without killing him personally. He decides to lock the old coot up in Nurmengard, to be efficiently murdered by his oldest enemy.
(Voldemort may be missing some relevant background, where Albus Dumbledore and Gellert Grindelwald are concerned.)
Why I like it: all those soft, grey areas where Grindeldore shines best.
blood quills and ladyfingers | 9447 words | Complete
"In Dolores Umbridge, Lord Voldemort has all the followers he requires."
Why I like it: commitment to the bit (both mine and Voldemort’s).
concordance | 23707+ words | WIP
Tom would do anything to not be sent back to the orphanage over the summer, even if it means taking up with an old man he hates.
(Or: Albus Dumbledore is made of contradictions.)
Why I like it: emotional chaos.
Honorary mention to the great work for the symbolism.
4 WIPS
To be taken with a grain of salt. I offer no guarantees that any of these will be finished in 2023 (or ever):
Diary Tom/Harry longfic (alternatively known as “the one where Tom suffers,” which is saying a lot given the rest of my writing)
Tom/The Gray Lady canon-divergent ghost romance
Draco/Tom time-travel adoption plot
Grindeldore adopting Harry
3 Improvements Expansions
“Improvements” doesn’t quite seem like the right word, but these are three stylistic tools I added to my arsenal over the past year or so:
More dual POV
More main characters who are difficult to like
More words + more detail for the same amount of plot
2 Resolutions
Stick the landing on the end of Innocent.
Write a big damn Tomarry fic.
1 Favorite Line
“Given all their history, he really should have seen the fist coming.” Though it might not look like much, it’s pretty punchy in context!

Top Strategies for Cracking the IAS Exam: Insights from Coimbatore’s Best Academy
Tumblr media
Cracking the IAS (Indian Administrative Services) exam is no small feat. It requires a blend of hard work, dedication, and the right strategy. Whether you’re a first-time aspirant or someone looking to refine your preparation, understanding the key strategies is crucial. In this blog, we’ll share expert insights from the best IAS academy in Coimbatore, offering actionable tips and guidance to help you on your path to success.
Why Strategy is Key to Cracking the IAS Exam
The IAS exam is one of the toughest in India, with a huge number of candidates competing for limited vacancies. The exam consists of three stages: Prelims, Mains, and the Interview. Each stage requires a different approach, and a solid strategy can make the difference between success and failure. The best IAS academy in Coimbatore emphasizes structured, step-by-step planning that aligns with the demands of the exam.
Key Strategies for IAS Success
1. Understand the Exam Pattern and Syllabus Thoroughly
One of the first steps in preparing for the IAS exam is gaining a clear understanding of the exam pattern and syllabus. The best IAS academy in Coimbatore ensures that all its students are familiar with every aspect of the syllabus, so there are no surprises on exam day.
Prelims: Focus on General Studies and CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test).
Mains: Involves 9 papers, including subjects, essay writing, and General Studies.
Interview: Personality assessment that tests candidates' communication skills and decision-making ability.
Familiarizing yourself with the syllabus in depth will allow you to prioritize subjects, create a study plan, and avoid wasting time on irrelevant topics.
2. Develop a Daily Study Routine
Consistency is key when preparing for the IAS exam. The best IAS academy in Coimbatore emphasizes creating a well-balanced study routine that includes time for both preparation and rest.
Tips for Crafting Your Routine:
Dedicate specific hours each day to studying core subjects.
Allocate time for revision and practice of mock tests.
Include short breaks to avoid burnout and maintain mental clarity.
Balance the study of current affairs and static subjects like history, geography, and polity.
3. Focus on Time Management
Time management is a crucial aspect of IAS preparation. With the vast syllabus and limited time, prioritizing tasks becomes essential. The best IAS academy in Coimbatore teaches students how to allocate their time effectively between various subjects, ensuring they cover every topic without feeling overwhelmed.
Key Time Management Techniques:
Use a weekly planner to track your progress and deadlines.
Break down study sessions into manageable blocks (e.g., 90-minute study sessions with short breaks).
Prioritize difficult subjects or topics during your peak study hours.
4. Make Use of High-Quality Study Material
One of the mistakes many aspirants make is relying on too many books and resources. The best IAS academy in Coimbatore recommends focusing on quality study materials rather than quantity.
Stick to standard reference books like NCERTs for basic concepts and choose one or two trusted sources for each subject.
Stay updated with current affairs through reliable newspapers and magazines.
5. Practice with Mock Tests and Previous Year Papers
The importance of practicing mock tests and previous year’s papers cannot be overstated. This strategy not only helps with understanding the exam format but also boosts your confidence.
Regular mock tests will help you familiarize yourself with the exam's time constraints.
Analyzing past year papers will give you insights into frequently asked questions and important topics.
At the best IAS academy in Coimbatore, students regularly take mock tests to simulate real exam conditions. This builds both speed and accuracy—essential traits for acing the IAS exam.
6. Stay Updated with Current Affairs
Current affairs play a significant role in the IAS exam, particularly in the Prelims and Mains. The best IAS academy in Coimbatore emphasizes staying up-to-date with national and international news.
Best Ways to Stay Informed:
Read a daily newspaper like The Hindu or The Indian Express.
Watch news channels and follow government websites for updates on important policies and schemes.
Make notes of significant events and developments for easy revision.
7. Focus on the Mains Answer Writing Practice
Unlike the Prelims, which are objective-based, the Mains involves written answers. The best IAS academy in Coimbatore ensures that students regularly practice answer writing to improve their speed, clarity, and presentation.
Practice writing concise and well-structured answers.
Focus on quality over quantity—ensure that each answer addresses the question in depth.
