This song had potential for top 5, were it not for that fuck ass title/the lyrics. The instrumental track is just too good, I loooooove it so much. 

26. In Bloom – ZEROBASE ONE

I think this says more about me thank anything else but i just love a pumpy song, it was fun, good track, what else is there to say 

25. Still You – Seungkwan 

This is me cheating and throwing in an OST but it is far too good and I don’t ever hear anyone talk about it. This song kept me together for half the summer. Go listen right now and tell me im wrong for adding it. 

24. UNFORGIVEN – LE SSERAFIM

This is partially because of the MV, i simply love cowboy concepts. Just iconic. dont come for me if their new releases are “better” bc this is my list and also i haven’t listened yet. I am behind. 

23. SHALALA – TAEYONG

ICONIC. MV, song, all of it SCREAMEDDDDD ty and i love him for that. I really admire artists that are truly dedicated to their craft and taeyong is just one of those dudes.  

22. Say You Love Me – Kai 

I couldn’t not put him. I can’t believe there’s a whole year left until he comes back. It’s genuinely insane. anyway rover deserves to be on here too but i wanted to be special (also ur lying if you think this isnt the best song on that album. the only alternative is sinner) 

21. Air Force One – ODD EYE CIRCLE 

Right when I started wanting to listen to LOONA, everything happened and, well, at least they’re safe. This song is such a bop idk 

20. Will I Ever See You Again? – Red Velvet 

I think this is mostly just my personal taste but it’s sooooo good, an easy listen but consistently good???? 

19. LEFT RIGHT – XG 

2000s concept SLAYED, idk it’s just such a good song? like i’m not picky in my music taste but this is very much my style 

18. Get Loose – THE7

yes i got it from tiktok but a good song is a good song and this is a good song. I actually just like fun songs 

17. LONE RANGER – MONSTA X 

Remember when i said i love cowboy concepts? yeah. I also was working on a horse farm when this came out so like. it just fit  

16. Fire Eyes – The BOYZ 

Remember what i said about fun songs? i don’t even know how i found it bc i dont listen to the boyz religiously but i LOVE this song 

15. Memories – RIIZE 

They’re actually iconic for having siren and memories as pre-releases and showcasing their dance/singing abilities. K-pop is very much about singing for me and boys can sing, so memories made the cut. Honestly all their songs have been on repeat for me though, i just love the final chorus of this song ugh 

14. PADO – NCT U 

This is another cheat but i couldn’t not put it on. like haechan????? xiaojun???? yeah.. you got me confused…… you got me soooo satisfied 

13. Cool With You – NewJeans

Ditto remains my top newjeans song but cool with you… like i said with left right, it’s just very my style and idk i really enjoyed it. The whole album was soooo good JUST TOO SHORT 

12. Bubble – STAYC 

SLAYC IS BACK LETS GOOOOOO!!!!!!! I LOVE bubblegum pop so this was right up my alley. It’s just so funny and i love the girlies so much im so mad i couldn’t see them on tour 

11. Space – NCT 127 

WE’RE IN THE TOP TEN NOW LETS GOOOOO!!! Every time this song comes on i ascend to a higher plane of existence like that one spongebob meme. Let it breathe. Let it chill. Yeah we doin’ too much too much. specifically jaehyun on that part……. Oouugghhhhhhhh (whatever instrument/fake instrument that’s doing that one part…. Idk how to describe but ooughhhhhh) 

10. BOUNCY (K-HOT CHILLI PEPPERS) – ATEEZ 

When i tell you this was on REPEAT while i was in japan… i was making it bouncy all through the streets. played it for my mom and she said “this is a weird song” 

9. Fighting – BSS

That one tweet that’s like BSS’s music is like “dont kill yourself were booseoksoon.” yeah. It’s half that and half their performance and incredible ability to always make me laugh 

8. Poison – NCT DREAM

my world STOPPED when that track video dropped like…… have i mentioned haechan bc wow. he saw the baekhyun poster outside the recording studio and swore he wouldn’t let him down and he did just that. i love me some good whore music and that is whore music baby 

7. Spicy – aespa 

Perfect balance between bubblegum pop and noise music. the girlies came to serve and they did just that. 

6. JUMP – P1Harmony 

Not to be that person but they are seriously soooooo underrated. Justice for my boys because this song is just so good. I NEED to see it in person 

5. Queencared – (G)-IDLE 

SO hard to choose between this and I DO (and allergy) but ugh. the bubblegum pop won in the end. I love this song so so much, had the time of my LIFE singing along to it. Yuqi come home <3 

4. Poppin’ Love – WayV 

Idc if you don’t think they’re kpop, they’re going on my list. This song just has it all

3. I Don’t Understand But I Luv U – SEVENTEEN 

Remember what i said about whore music? also i genuinely don’t know why anyone was surprised when they looked at the lyrics for the first time like just listen to the song and it’s obvious what they were singing about idk. thank you woozi, thank you jun, thank you hoshi, thank you minghao, and thank you dino. if i dont see this song in concert……… lord knows what will happen to me 

2. Let Me In – EXO 

this was my number one song of the year i think. It came out right before i went to japan so all those positive memories are associated with this song, but also like.. she’s just that bitch. My first release with DO, Chen, and Baekhyun on one track together and let me tell you.. This song is just too good. Vocals will always win me over and the entire bridge-last chorus (actually the whole song).. just so good.

Whore music. Vocals. What else do you need???? When i tell you this song has brought me out of a Mood several times,,, idk what it is i just love this song so much. i put it on to write this and like. there’s just nothing bad about this song, its too good. the instrumental, the vocals, they knew EXACTLY what they were doing. PLEASEEEEE keep letting jaehyun sing it’s such a crime to hide his voice

Sooo... like, we’ve all seen the subtle foreshadowing that Luz might be possessed by the Collector soon, but as we’ve seen in the latest episodes, it’s King who has an established connection with the Collector, which gave me a horrible thought:

What if KING is the intended target of the Collector’s possession, and it’s going to result in Luz sacrificing herself by either striking a bargain with them OR like, dramatically intervening ala ‘throwing themselves in front of a bullet’ trope to somehow transfer the connection/possession to HER instead of King?? 

Because I don’t think my heart could take that.

Quick ROTTMNT Review

Oh god... the tears running down my face are so real. I need to watch the movie a few more times to properly process everything, but here’s what I can get out right now. 

I just knew there would be some fresh Leo/Raph conflict for this movie, but I didn’t know how it would be handled. I was hoping for some nice support/angst combo and they freakin’ DELIVERED. And in a way I totally didn’t expect.

The tone was consistent with the show yet somehow managed to pull off the tears and angst SO WELL. 

My biggest fear from the initial trailers was how Foot Recruit/Cassandra was going to be handled. SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER: It was addressed, and it made me laugh. We’re good.

Okay like... it almost feels redundant to talk about the animation? But I will a bit anyway. It was FIRE. It was BOSS. It was EPIC. It was everything you could possibly hope, want, expect, and more. It stayed Movie Quality the entire time. 

Probably my biggest critique is while yes, Leo and Raph were intended to have a role reversal, something shown in the show was how while Raph was always doing and trying his best as leader, he wasn’t a very good strategist nine times out of ten? And while Leo was more laid back and lazy he WAS in fact a very good strategist when he set his mind to it. This movie seems to reverse that...? Leo was VERY ‘fly by the seat of his pants’ and Raph put in the effort to make actual plans. BUT I suppose this could be attributed to a more literal role reversal. Leo decides ‘now that i’m leader whatever i do is FINE i guess’ and Raph has to overcompensate like he does in Pizza Puffs. It would have been nice to see this addressed properly BUT it didn’t ruin my emersion.

All in all, I loved this movie with my whole heart. Thank-you so much to the cast and crew for giving us this gift. I hope my tears fuel your next endeavors.

F1 Re-Watch 2013: Round 15 - Japan

I swear I'm going to finish this before the 2024 season starts

The festive season just happened and we are now weeks away from the first launch of the 2024 cars (which bruh what is the passing of time).

So I'm keeping my pre-race blurb to a minimum, which is fine because apart from Seb winning and I think Grosjean briefly leading the race, I don't remember much.

Okay: starting grid overview! Webber on pole, Seb P2. A win for the Martian girlies (gn). Lewis P3, Alonso P8, Jenson P10 and Jev P17

All bar Ricciardo and Pic starting on the mediums as opposed to the hards. (Though again this was in ye olden days when the Top 10 had to start on their quali tyre)

god I get whiplash now seeing Domenicali on the Ferrari garage now even though I know he was TP at that point. Safe to say I'm not enjoying him as F1 CEO

"He's having quite a scruffy afternoon." The fact that Seb being in P3 and going wide once and having one lock up shown on camera counts as scruffy is frankly hilarious. That's how good he was in 2013

[Lap 17]: A Seb fastest lap 🥰

[Lap 18]: What is a polar bear (Ricciardo in a Toro Rosso) doing in Arlington, Texas? (P4)

ohhhhh he hasn't stopped yet nvm

[Lap 19]: There is a queue of at least three cars behind him however

[Lap 20]: Alonso gets past Massa, but the Ricciardo train has now gained another few cars

It goes all the way down to 10th djbhdfjbhfxb

WHAT THE FUCK Hulkenberg went down the inside of 130R and made it stick.

[Lap 21]: And Alonso gets past him on the main straight.

[Lap 23]: "Multi 3, Multi 3" What does it mean what does it all mean????

[Lap 24]: And a Webber fastest lap! he's either prepping for his second stop or also got triggered by the word multi and bolted

also also, Seb has to make it lap 33 to make the 2 stop strategy work

[Lap 25]: Like the way Grosjean is still leading and it being pretty much legit, wild

[Lap 26]: And Mark makes his second stop bang in the middle of the pit window

[Lap 27]: Seb being told he's racing Grosjean and not Mark, inch resting

and it sounds like Lotus are trying to stretch his strategy out to the 2 stop

[Lap 28]: the gap between Seb and Romain is now 1.5 seconds 👀

"Put pressure on Grosjean" Bastard Seb about to be unleashed

[Lap 30]: and in comes Grosjean for I assume is his final stop. He takes on another set of hards and comes out in P3

[Lap 31]: Seb needs to eek out a tiny bit of lap time to have a pit stop gap over Romain, which will be slightly difficult since Grosjean is on the new set of tyres

oh god not Perez having a slow stop too. McLaren be suffering

[Lap 32]: and Ricciardo nets us our third drive through penalty of the race for leaving the track and gaining an advantage.

I've seen more drive through pens in this race than I have in the past 5 years

[Lap 33]: and now everyone bar Rosberg, Vergne and Pic is on the hard tyres

[Lap 34]: Massa gets the fourth drive through pen of the day for speeding in the pitlane

somehow my Grandma will get a drive through pen despite being 91 and not having a driving licence

[Lap 36]: Seb apparently has a new set of mediums left, interesting.gif

and his gap to Grosjean is still around 20 seconds when he needs 22 in theory, but if he's going to be on the faster and fresher tyre on the end he maybe doesn't need to have a pit stop gap to him

[Lap 37]: And Seb pits!

He takes on another set of hards and comes out in third.

"That's Grosjean in front of you, go and get him." Okay now we're going to unlock bastard Seb. Cheers Rocky.

[Lap 38]: Haven't done a top 5 overview in ages: it's Webber, Grosjean, Seb, Hulkenberg and Alonso

[Lap 40]: Seb is 6 tenths behind Grosjean, with a fastest lap to boot

[Lap 41]: And Seb takes P2 on the main straight!!!!

He is 14 seconds behind Mark who still needs to stop

[Lap 42]: Meanwhile Jenson has made his final stop and is back out in 14th place 🥲

[Lap 43]: Aaaaaand in comes Mark for his final pit stop

ooh for the medium tyres! and he comes out in third place

meanwhile Jenson overtakes Sutil for... P13

so the top 5 is now: Seb, Grosjean, Webber, Hulkenberg and Alonso

ouch, Perez got a rear puncture from contact with Rosberg

He's about 5 and a bit seconds behind Seb 👀

[Lap 46]: Alonso gets past Hulkenberg for P4!!

[Lap 47]: Grosjean barely staying in P2 going into turn 1

[Lap 48]: And still Grosjean is ahead going into the first corner

and, you guessed it, Grosjean is still in P2. Mark just isn't getting the traction he need out of the final chicane to be able to overtake him on the main straight

1 on 1 battles are so fascinating to watch unfold when your faves aren't involved

[Lap 51]: The way Webber is literally on Grosjean's gearbox now

[Lap 52]: of course Webber took P2 driving into turn 1 for the drama.

It was a saucy move ngl.

[Lap 53]: FINAL LAP!!!

Well that was a bit of a slow burn race, but it was really fun to see the 2 stop vs the 3 stop play out and have a proper on track battle between the top 3 cars.

ramuda smiled, bidding the model goodbye as he waved cheerily at her, thanking her for working with him and telling her he can't wait to see her during their next meeting. she waved goodbye and he gave her his usual flirty wink with an equally flirty comment.

after she left and he closed the door, ramuda huffed, plopping on the yellow couch in his office. his head leaning against the headrest, eyes glued on the brightly lit ceiling. he removed the measuring tape hanging around the back of his neck. placing his arm over his eyes, he let out another huff.

today was tiring. in a rewarding way yes, but also just in general tiring way. did the day start out awful for him? no. not really. the only bad thing was that he couldn't find his signature blue hoodie. and he loved that hoodie. it made him look small and cute. other than that, everything went by well. he kissed you on the forehead before he left, not bothering to wake you up. instead, opting for a cute little good morning text detailing how adorable you looked curled under the blankets and just how much he loved you.

he spent the most of morning designing clothes. after all, he needed to release a new series of clothes for the new season! and so he did! he couldn't help but think how adorable these skirts, dresses, shorts, hoodies, tops he sketched would look on you. to be fair, he believed anything he made would look cute on you. and he was proven time and time again! sometimes, you'd get the firsthand look and try on the new outfits he came up with.

but too bad you never agreed to be the main model for his fashion line though. nope. no matter how much he begged, pouted, or showed you his best puppy eyes, it never worked— you never budged. he kept saying how perfect it would be; his beautiful y/n–nee the face of his company! people would be gawking! they'd be jealous that such a beautiful (and cough, hot) girl was his and his only! but alas, you said no and he needed to respect that. however! you wear all the clothes he gave you that he designed and crafted with his own two hands!

he removed his shoes by the door and proceeded to look around the apartment for you. it was quiet. usually, when he called your name you'd answer but now you weren't.

once he reached your shared room, it made sense.

“bunny?” he called out again, noticing a lump of something on your side of the bed under the blankets. he walked closer to it and he smiled, finally seeing your sleeping figure. seeing that your head was covered in a hood, ramuda slowly pulled down the sheets. once he pulled it down enough, he saw that you were wearing the blue hoodie he left behind today.

whether you stole or found it, he didn't care. all he could do was smile even more and caress your cheek slowly. his heart swelled. he felt warm. he felt so filled with love. he kneeled and kissed you on the cheek.

“i love you so much, y/n.”

he chuckled as you let out a tiny sleepy squeak as a response to what he said. you were still asleep, yes, good. he'd beat himself up if he woke you up. he stood up properly and proceeded to get changed into clothes fitted for sleeping.

slowly and carefully, he laid down on the bed, watching you as you slept. he moved a stray hair out of your face just so he could see how adorable you looked, in his hoodie, in something that was his.

6. What would they give their life for?

In a hypothetical scenario where he knows that he will die for real – the people he’s closest to. Anyone who the thought of living without upsets and scares Hector enough. To name specific people – that’d be Gage first and foremost, adding Butch when them and Gage get real close, and Lily by extension. There could be others potentially, but I’m on the fence.

More realistically though, you don’t know these things beforehand. And Hector has kind of a habit to put himself in harm’s way before others (who he would feel upset about getting hurt and guilty if they were hurt and he was fine), because he’s much more resilient. He knows he can recover from injuries other people can’t, so it’s only logical. If he happens to die or get very severely injured, then uh… whoops.

11. If they could make a mark on history, what would they like it to be? 

Well, there was his life goal of finding a cure for his condition. He’s kind of given up on it to be honest, but there’s a chance for Darryl’s Institute to rekindle that fire. If him cooperating/helping with research on this can lead to a remedy or treatment for the sun allergy, and perhaps other related issues too, and if that was accredited to him in some way, he’d be very happy.

21. What is their favorite thing about their personality?

His determination. If an idea, a project, a goal really grabs him, there’s almost nothing anyone can do to stop him from seeing it through. He’s gonna work day and night, push through every setback, figure out every problem, no matter how hard or impossible it seems. (yes this seems contradictory to the previous answer but there’s no rule without exceptions, right?)

35. What is the easiest way to annoy them?

People fidgeting noisily or in visually very noticeable ways. Usually in quieter situations, like when he’s trying to do paperwork or maybe having a meal at the table. Like someone bouncing their leg so much the table starts shaking, drumming their fingers on its surface, ceaselessly clicking a pen, loudly chewing some gum… gets on his nerves very quickly.

40. Who do they trust most? Is that trust mutual?

MAAK because MAAK can do no wrong

Gotta be Gage again. Building their trust was a grueling process, but one that creates lasting results. Hector trusts Gage with his life, there’s just that one (unfounded) instance where he thought Gage and Butch were going to betray him. However, that stems more out of a lack of self-confidence than lack of trust in Gage. Hell, he was even gonna agree with him in the decision to replace him, even if it fucking hurts. When it comes to having his back, not betraying him, things like that, Gage does trust Hector. When it comes to not getting himself into trouble or always making the best thought out decisions, perhaps a bit less.

42. What is their favorite thing about their physical appearance?

No bald spots, no receding hairline, he looks young and spry as ever! (hair-wise, anyway, and if you don’t look at the color)

56. What do they smell like? Why do they smell like this? (Is it the things they’re around or a perfume they wear?)

He usually puts on a lil spritz of cologne, if he has any. At the start of his Overboss career he did not, and he rarely ever took off his clothes and mask even inside, because staying covered is a form of staying guarded. Having his mask off can make him feel more vulnerable. Also: gas masks eliminate your sense of smell. Maybe you can see where this is going – Hector had a bit of a body odor problem / problem of not having properly washed off the gunk from the previous day’s adventures and ending up emitting an unpleasant odor. One that he does not notice due to the gas mask. That is until Gage – Porter ‘Stinkman’ Gage – of all people let Hector know that he smelled bad, and Hector was mortified. From then on, he got waaay more conscientious about staying clean. Which includes acquiring cologne through his Overboss powers so he can go back to smelling like a well washed old man (at least until that is undone by Raider Adventures)

65. What’s their immune system like? Do they get sick often? How do they react to getting sick?

It’s not too great, what with the vitamin deficiency (or multiple, I’m too lazy to research that right now) and the fact that he breathes filtered air most of the time. It does a good job at keeping him healthy, so despite the lower immunity he doesn’t get sick too often, but he’s definitely more susceptible to it if he’s not wearing his mask. If it’s not too bad, he just pushes through it and keeps working as usual, but will sleep more. If it’s a fever, he’ll pretty much be in bed all day, varying between quietly isolating himself and whining pitifully to himself or anyone unfortunate enough to be nearby

75. If given a blank piece of paper, a pencil, and nothing to do, what would happen?

Sit in front of it for a while not knowing what to do, but soon be engrossed in writing down ideas he’s had, sketching out plans, continuing where he left off with solving a problem - usually something to do with engineering.

WNBA nearly did All-Star weekend right. But they made the stars fly economy

The WNBA nearly did All-Star weekend right. Then 6’8 Brittney Griner was given a middle seat in coach.

When Brittney Griner landed at McCarron International Airport in Las Vegas on the Thursday before the All-Star Game, she was greeted by a limo ready to take her to an upgraded suite at the Delano Hotel. As she walked through the doors of her new room, she witnessed something not seen at any of her previous five All-Star appearances: a room with a common room and supersized bathroom.

It’s here where the Phoenix Mercury center changed before going to a luxurious players-only dinner down the Vegas strip at the Bellagio. There were no ball-signings or media appearances to make. Just the best in the world enjoying a night together.

“It was fun,” Griner told SB Nation of the weekend. “Not that the other ones weren’t fun ... the one in Phoenix [in 2014] was fun. But it just felt like a real All-Star.”

At least it felt that way once the players arrived. The 22 All-Stars still had to fly coach to the event, which meant a middle seat for the 6’8 Griner. She had to pay her own money to upgrade and get the necessary extra leg room.

“If they would’ve listened to [Aces general manager and head coach] Bill Laimbeer on how to get us there, our travel there, to make us really feel like All-Stars, then it would’ve been great,” Griner said. “Like first-class seats, or at least exit row.”

Indeed, Las Vegas’ inaugural All-Star flashed the grandeur the stars of the league’s biggest celebratory weekend has long craved. At the same time, Griner’s flight difficulties showed the league still has a ways to go to improve the All-Star experience for those stars.

Upon arrival, everything was pristine. The biggest draw of the weekend featured a beach party performance the night before the game, with rapper Snoop Dogg and hip-hop artist Iggy Azalea performing at the Mandalay Bay casino and hotel. (Las Vegas Aces star Liz Cambage was set to open the night as a DJ, but technical difficulties scratched that segment.)

The next day, the All-Star Game player introductions were done between sets of Cirque Du Soleil stunts. For the first time ever, the game even had a halftime act, with singer Teyana Taylor owning the stage for the duration of the intermission.

Taylor was able to perform because, for the first time since 2006, the Three-Point Shootout and Skills Competition were not only paired together, but given their own night. For the past three years, the Three-Point shootout was played at halftime of the actual game, and there was no skills contest. Moving the events to Friday night gave the players a second day of spotlight on ESPN and opened the weekend to other events.

Taylor’s performance was a memorable one for the All Stars. In lieu of a halftime speech in the locker room, the players surrounded the stage to enjoy quasi-personal show. First-time All-Stars Diamond DeShield of the Chicago Sky and Odyssey Sims of the Minnesota Lynx took the mic to belt out Taylor lyrics in front of the crowd.

Griner also noticed all the other players from around the league in attendance to enjoy the weekend with them. With so much to enjoy around the game, it was hard for them to pass up, even if the alternative was a much-needed vacation. Luminaries included Sky forwards Gabby Williams and Stefanie Dolson, Seattle Storm guard Sue Bird and recent World Cup winner Megan Rapinoe, and NBA All-Stars Kobe Bryant and Chris Paul.

“I’d definitely call it my favorite weekend,” Griner said. “They made a lot of improvements. The aura around everything was great. I think it should be there again.”

But there’s still a ways for the league to go, through no fault of its host. One complaint was the All-Star Game’s early tip time at 12:30 p.m. PT the afternoon following the Snoop Dogg and Iggy Azalea concert. “Come on,” Griner said. “We’re all adults here. Maybe push the game back a little later.”

And then, there were the flights. All-Star Weekend is funded through a partnership between the WNBA and the host franchise, according to the league. Usually, the host franchise is responsible for travel arrangements.

Knowing that, Laimbeer, the coach and general manager of the Aces — and himself a 6’11 former NBA player — proposed setting $20,000 of his organization’s share aside to pay for first-class flights for the 22 All-Stars. But the league rejected the proposal, forcing Griner and her companions to squeeze into coach seats.

“I made a complaint at the board of governors meeting about that specific issue,” Laimbeer told The Associated Press. “They are our best assets, they are our All-Stars; treat them with respect. I apologized to them that I couldn’t get that done.”

Difficult travel accommodations have become a key point of emphasis for the league’s players and coaches. The WNBA’s collective bargaining agreement, which expires on Oct. 31, requires all players to fly commercially, which has contributed to frequent in-season delays, cancellations and uncomfortable trips across the country. Last season, 24 hours worth of plane troubles caused Laimbeer’s Aces to forfeit a late-season game with playoff implications. This season, new L.A. Sparks head coach Derek Fisher posted a picture of his team carrying their own bags through an airport terminal.

Still, the league played police for All-Star in the name of fairness and parity. The fear was that Laimbeer’s first-class ticket offer would be seen as a recruiting tactic to lure top players to join Vegas’ superteam in the future. After all, Vegas acquired Cambage, last year’s league-leading scorer, when she requested a trade from a smaller-market Dallas Wings. MGM owns the Aces, and few, if any, other teams can and will match the pockets of the international powerhouse. The league OK’d the upgraded suites, but drew the line at airfare.

The league’s logic mirrors the decision to force Mystics guard Kristi Toliver to get paid a mere $10,000 for what is typically a six-figure role as an NBA assistant coach during the winter. The Wizards and Mystics are both owned by Monumental Sports, so the WNBA wanted to prevent them from using the carrot of a six-figure salary with the same organization to circumvent the salary cap and retain Tolliver as a player.

Yet this anti-tampering fear from the league is wildly misplaced. For one, the WNBA’s current CBA features the core designation, a provision similar to the NFL’s franchise tag that can be used to keep a player for up to four years. This is already one of the most team-friendly perks in all of sports, so what threat would a comped first-class flight really pose to a small-market team?

More fundamentally, the All-Stars deserve better. This isn’t the same as NBA teams offering perks outside the CBA to lure free agents like Kawhi Leonard that make tens of millions of dollars a season. These are the WNBA’s most talented athletes, who already play year-round because a maximum salary — a maximum salary — is worth just $117,500. Their bodies are pushed to limit over and over again, and their health should be the primary concern.

Consider that the All Star showcase was already missing six of the league’s biggest stars due to injury. Reigning MVP Breanna Stewart tore her Achilles in the Euroleague title game (Dynamo Kursk), while teammate and legendary point guard Sue Bird has missed the entire season to arthroscopic knee surgery. Former MVPs Candace Parker and Diana Taurasi have only played 10 games combined due to nagging ailments, and thus missed the weekend. A’ja Wilson, the league’s second-most popular player by fan vote, has been in a walking boot due to a high-ankle sprain in late July. Finally, Maya Moore, arguably the league’s most recognizable face, is taking the year off to focus on “family” and “ministry dreams.”

Vegas’ All-Star set the pace for what the W should bring every year, and players are eager to come back. But it wasn’t perfect just yet.

Courtney Williams is a PROBLEM

The Sun quietly have the WNBA’s best record, despite being forced to trade top big Chimey Ogwumike to the Sparks before the season. Though forward Jonquel Jones takes a lot of the spotlight, Williams is an assassin. In a win over the Liberty, she scored 28 points on 12-of-18 shooting and also added seven rebounds, six assists and THIS BLOCK.
