The Haven kids and their weapons of choice

Tracy Otto

In true Otto fashion, Tracy becomes good at using most weapons being trained by her parents. She starts out with just a knife and as she grows she is allowed to carry more intense weapons. However, something Troy and Lyn do is ensure that while their daughter knows how to use a variety of weapons she doesn't have to because they are always her first and last line of defense. Eventually, as she grew, Tracy settled on her main weapons: a handgun her father gave her when she was thirteen and a machete, like the one her mom uses.

Arthur Campbell

For his weapon of choice, Arthur eventually settles on a hunting hatchet. Arthur had wanted to use a regular axe with a longer handle but it took him longer to swing it and it was heavy. So Dwight switched it out and eventually started training him with a hatchet instead. It was lighter and allowed Arthur to move more swiftly when fighting or going on runs. He, like most other kids in the Haven (and Tracy) also carries a knife, and often a handgun but his main and preferred weapon is that of the hatchet. Arthur even learned how to throw it properly and can launch it pretty far maintaining an accurate shot.

Klaus Gottfried

Klaus's weapon of choice is a bat with nails stuck into the end. After checking it wouldn't give Dwight a heart attack (he thought it was hardwired at first and freaked out a little) Klaus picks it as his weapon to use to go on runs. He usually used a bat when facing the dead back at the hotel. It was the first weapon he had used, and even though he was a young kid it was easy enough for him to swing. So as he got older and more adapted to learning how to use a weapon after being at the Haven, Klaus made the choice to use a bat. He knows how to fire a gun, but he's not great at it and just prefers to use his bat. Frank figured if he was comfortable with the bat it was a good weapon for his son, even if Troy thought the kid would be safer with something...sharper. Frank added the nails to the bat, adding an upper hand to the weapon while ensuring it was still something his kid could use.
