Not all heroes wear capes, as a matter of fact sometimes they use a walker! World War II veteran Tom Moore set out to walk 100 laps of his back garden in Bedfordshire, around 50 miles northwest of London, before his 100th birthday on April 30 to raise money for the NHS. His original fundraising target was $1,250. His family said the fundraising site JustGiving had to stop the "Captain Tom Moore's 100th Birthday Walk for the NHS" page from crashing, as more than 90,000 people tried to access it at one point. So far, more than 860,000 people have donated more than $20 mil to Moore's effort. So, Captain Tom Moore is a 99-year-old and he's raised £10m for NHS charities in the past few days by walking around his garden with his Zimmer frame. TEN million pounds!!

We all know the NHS should be properly funded by the government but the Tory cuts show this will never happen. Amazing people like Captain Tom Moore and those who have supported him show just how much the British population values the NHS.

A 99-year-old army veteran who has raised more than £4m to help the NHS in the fight against Covid-19 has vowed to keep going even though he has smashed his original £1,000 target.

What an inspiring man, his selfless action and service for me indicative of his generation.

Amazing Captain Tom

I have been following a story recently regarding Captain Tom who is doing a walk before his 100th birthday to raise money for our NHS.
