Tom Hardy lips and nips are the same godforsaken color, and you fine people at Tommyplum seem like the type to properly appreciate this.
We would like it known that we are a Serious Business Blog and we resent this assumption that we would engage in base objectification of Tom Hardy or his lips or nips despite the fact that both are often on full display simultaneously! SOLELY IN THE INTERESTS of addressing your supposition in a more Elite and Educated manner therefore:
- his colours are Blush and Bashful, also what the fuck who strolls around with his costume half-off like this drinking Crystal Clear bottled water with only one (1) entire tit out! PADRE FIERO
- even with the image flipped we can clearly see that all four areas (each lip counts separately) are the same colour, which happens to be a shade of muted darkish pink that makeup companies generally gift with the moniker “Aroused” or “Little Ms. Naughty” or “Do Me” (although, anon, we do agree that “Godforsaken” would be an excellent addition to the family)
- well shit that’s just candy ain’t it
This concludes our presentation and we hope that we at tommyplum have sufficiently demonstrated that we conduct this blog with nothing but the utmost Respect, Dignity, and High-Minded Discourse when it comes to our irreproachable fannish interest in Tom Hardy and his many varied parts. Please collect a complimentary bracelet made of knotted parachute cord on your way out, thank you.
Your hosts, John and Maggie

Out of curiosity – are there any published writers whose child dialogue you like? For me it’s Stephen King even though his kids are more crass than I ever was lol -maggie
I think Stephen King does it a bit better than most, yeah, and that's mostly (I think) because he doesn't underestimate children. His children characters may read as very immature or as though they don’t have a real grasp on how the world actually works (par the course for their age), but they have real anxieties and terrors, they go through heavy shit, ask weird and profound questions. I think the biggest issue I have with how kids are often written is that people don't seem to listen to how children really speak, which I think is often symptomatic to how we culturally tend to misconstrue childhood and refuse to take children seriously- so you see representations of ten year old’s going "sowwy i ated the cereal uwu" and it's like ... no, if you actually observe kids, there's actual nuance, logic, and intent to even the weirdest shit they have to say. And, in my experience with kids both in my personal and professional life, the second they learn how to say fuck, a lot of them are gonna think it's vocabulary seasoning and say it WAY too loudly when they're supposed to be covert about it, so I’ll give Stephen King a bone for that, too.
So, yes, Stephen King does a pretty good job. Rebecca Kaufman has a book called The Gunners that really beautifully follows a group of friends from childhood to adulthood in a way that feels very authentic- I really recommend it just as a quick but beautifully written read. I think Louise Eldrich, Laurie Halse Anderson, and Jesmyn Ward manage it, too.

v-means-a-lot-of-things: THEY’RE THE EXACT SAME HEIGHT
@tommyplum I could never thank you enough omg! I’m so, so happy you like it and your comments mean so much! It’s so awesome to see the way you look at details, and how you reflect and think about what you see, and how your comments make other people think too! As for the height, I have to admit that exaggerated size differences is, urgh, a trend I don’t like very much… I mean, I checked and, as far as Google can be trusted, the actors seem to be of the same height…
I’m so glad that my rambling half-screaming feedback makes you happy, darling V!! With your art especially there’s so many tiny little touches and details to keep a person interested, time after time -- new things to discover with each look.
And YEAH Cillian and Tom are the exact same height and since Tom isn’t particularly bulked up in PB and Cillian is ‘suitably hench’ (for Cillian, that is, lol it’s relative), I’m not much for the exaggerated size difference myself. I like a little bit of size difference where it exists naturally, don’t get me wrong (John’s and my OCs have a height difference of like five inches and the shorter one is more muscular) but I ALSO love two men who are more or less evenly matched, physically. I mean not to be thirsty or anything but MMMMMMMM.

tiredspices: 067. — fall from grace (um if you make this...
@tommyplum im not a big grace fan either (if you cant tell from the digs about her attitude to the rest of the shelbys bc thats one thing i cant STAND about her) but the temptation of a pun and not have to write AU got to me (even though this is a little Haunting of Hill House inspired) im glad you liked it anyway x
YES the Hill House feelings!! <3
And also yes to Grace’s toffee-nosed airs and the way that she stressed the class differences between herself and the Shelbys. Which honestly contributed to my never really getting on board with Tommy being so maaaadly in love with her to the point of conjuring up her ghost, because with May and Tatiana, he’s super derisive and scornful of their wealth and status (even as he uses it to his own advantage) but he just sort of smiles dopily at Grace and her stupid society thank-you notes? invitations? whatever the fuck that was, I don’t even remember properly because she bored me to tears. Where was Tommy Shelby the Man of the People THEN huh

arcticelves: “sparrows-books: Why is this man built like a truck and why do I want...”
@tommyplum Don't tempt me to write that...
oh??!? Should I not throw myself into encouraging you, who writes some incredibly textured and layered interaction among people who have a lot on their plates and don’t particularly want to let on, to explore how tight all of Carillo’s shirts are, and how Javi gets that nervous overstimulated energy whenever they’re together, and how Carillo’s always faintly frustrated but he’s still out on a date with Javi getting drinks at the start of the series? and how Javier’s super fuckin jelly when Steve suddenly gets it into his head to go for a helicopter ride with Carillo? To not wonder about Javier’s obvious streak of self-loathing mixed with a need to keep secrets and what Carillo’s bull-terrier single-minded determination and sureness does when it bangs up against that? and

"a thicc little twink" "sturdy" "a nice substantial fairy" MAGGIE !!! I cannot get over you talking about twinks like you're talking about wines!!! I'm just waiting for your next tags: substantial...rich... detect an under-note of ... submissive? maybe ochre? either way, this would pair excellently with Tom Hardy
AHAHAHAHAAHAH OMG I didn’t even think of that but it’s HILARIOUS! All twinks should be thus evaluated. And most of them would pair excellently with Tom Hardy. I don’t know what sort of dish that makes him but I am open to opinions from those with more of a nose for vintage and meal pairings XDD

puddle--wonderful: mad friendship bracelets
True story: my fella pulled a paracord bracelet out of his cigar cabinet a couple weeks ago. One he’d made himself. And I had the exact same reaction. It no longer fits him, so I wear it. It’s bulky and hideous and I love it.
OHHHHHHH EMM GEE THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS STORY <333

No exaggeration: I chose my dissertation advisor because we once had a lengthy conversation about Velvet Goldmine, and from then on out, I just TRUSTED her.
“You could be my main man” said John when we started yapping to each other about Velvet Goldmine, and I sincerely hope that’s also what you said to your dissertation advisor, oh gosh my geesh!

Hi! Just bc ive seen your tags a few times and im curious, (and sorry if youve answered this before) but why are you guys at tommyplum, not team grace?
We have not answered this before so no worries a’tall XD
John and I have discussed this before so this is our joint opinion: neither of us found that Tommy & Grace’s relationship felt terribly organic or genuine. Grace isn’t a favourite character for us (the core elements of her character are appealing, but due to a combination of the scripting & the acting she’s just meh), and the huge, lasting importance she took on in Tommy’s life felt … unearned, really. It was a whole lot of telling rather than showing.
It’s definitely within Tommy’s character to choose women who are particular archetypes because they basically serve as foils for whatever mental construction he’s got of himself at the moment (s1 when he’s trying to be seen as a legit player and semi-decent person, he chooses the madonna in Grace – hell, her name is grace – and s5 when he’s already gained that status he thinks he’s magnanimously helping Lizzie reform by choosing the whore, I mean Tommy’s not super subtle). Plus the women in Peaky Blinders are often given these tantalizing, meaty foundations and then squandered so there’s that.
But we find that Tommy and Grace didn’t even have much in the way of chemistry, unlike him and Lizzie; Grace was sort of bland and smug and didn’t particularly challenge Tommy in any compelling fashion, in our opinion. May Carleton couldn’t last because she was ultimately a good girl, and lonely longing + a horse connection can only go so far, but they were super hot together. Tatiana Petrovna would have been WILDLY entertaining and just when Tommy thought he might have had her figured, she would’ve tipped him arse over teakettle (she’s the fave round these parts). Jessie Eden was great but unfortunately the show would never have given her the proper upper hand that would’ve made their sexual relationship as subversive as it had the potential to be. More importantly, all three of these ladies had the chemistry with Tommy that Grace lacked.
Grace, at the end of the day, seemed like more of an aspirational idea than a real person. Which is fine and good within a character arc, but the fact that she was afforded such (unquestioned) revered status in Tommy’s life to the point where he’s conjuring her up in his mind as his conscience or truest love or whatever falls flat for us.
Bonus petty comment: she wasn’t THAT great of a singer
