Tomgreg week 2023 day 6: genderbent/wlw tomgreg

Once, Tommy told Gwen that full-grown circus elephants used to be kept in place by a single rope on a small wooden stake. She said when they were babies they couldn’t pull the stake from the ground, and never realized they could uproot a whole tree, much less a pathetic stake when they grew up. These huge animals, big enough to fill an entire room and level the whole circus if they wanted to, still felt so small. And why shouldn’t they? They didn’t know any better.

“I don’t understand,” Gwen said, they were out at a restaurant, and it was seemingly unrelated to the story about her Mom that Gwen had just finished telling.

Tommy stared at Gwen, obviously upset, the beginnings of tears made her eyes glassy and tinged red, but she just shook her head.

“Forget it, Gwen,” she huffed and looked down at her plate. She sniffled. “Eat your food.”

Gwen isn’t sure how it happened.

that forehead kiss really lasted so fucking long huh. like if it was pure impulsive celebration it would've been a quick smack and it could even more easily been on the cheek or even the lips but like... 2 or 3 solid seconds of slow, deliberate lips to forehead contact...... god that is fucking love. I'll hold forever that tom would have kissed him on the mouth if only he hadn't chickened out last second but the forehead is such a particular, symbolic place too. like its innocent. it's lacking for that moment in lust or desire tbqh in, at the same time, the most wanting possible way. like i'm not taking anything from you, i dont just want something that you can give me, i like and love YOU, i just want to express that, i just want to annoint you with this, i just want you to know what you mean to me. listen i know it's cringy or whatever to be an adult that is deeply invested in the romantic and sexual lives of fictional characters. that being said, i dont think it's unreasonable to say that if i watch the series finale of succession and i haven't seen matthew macfadyen and nicholas braun kiss with tongue, i'm never trusting anyone ever again

Tomgreg week 2023 day 4: Greg calling Tom “Nero” for the first time

 “Oh,” Tom intones, “so that’s what this is about?”

 “What?”

 “This is all a scheme for you to get me in the water,” Tom assesses, and he gets off of his own chair and treads over to the poolside, “you’re a tricky little pervert, Greg.”

 “Well, I don’t like that,” Greg grumbles, sinking into the water up to his nose.

 “You want me to swim with you?” Tom asks, staring down at Greg from the concrete.

 “Obviously, yes,” Greg replies, and he gestures around him at the pool, “it’s kind of boring to swim by yourself?”

 “Well, you should have considered that before you came down here, buddy,” Tom tuts, “it’s a business conference, people aren’t going to be getting wet and wild.”

 “Not people,” Greg corrects, and sweeps closer to the edge again, he looks up at Tom through his eyelashes, “just us.”

thinking about greg being a constant voice of reassurance for tom this season. looking after him. asking if he's okay. making sure he's eating and sleeping and feeling good even if it comes at his own detriment when he has to go back down to 'gregging'. cheering him on. hearing that tom is suffering in his marriage and half-jokingly asking if he wants to get revenge. doing it anyway. calling him at his uncle's funeral to see where he is. making sure the president of the united states knows tom's name. he really is tom's lifeline.
