I pairing: college soccer player! Tom ‘Iceman’ Kazansky x female reader
I précis: watching your bf’s soccer practice!
I content/warnings: college au, college soccer player au, fluff
I word count: 858
I a/n: prob gonna make a mini series for college soccer player ice bc he’s sooo dreamy
You watch as Ice runs drills with his team. To you, it's a wonder that he can focus so well when you're in the stands. You can't even process one paragraph from your textbook when Ice studies with you.
He meets your eye quickly, but not so quick that you don't see his wink, or the light pink that rises on his cheeks. You stand corrected.
You don't normally find yourself in the stands when Ice is practicing. Games, sure, but you didn't want to be the overly obnoxious soccer girlfriend who came to practices--you aren't, all of his teammates like you and even the coaches, who suspect the boys play better when they have an audience, even if it's an audience of one. But Ice's game this weekend is away--too far for you to even justify. So you told him you'd come to one of his practices this week.
He does not force you to come to his games, he doesn't even ask you to. The only game he ever asked you to come to was before you started dating--that was over a year ago and now you try to be a regular at all of his games.
You absentmindedly run your finger on the chain of your necklace, the one that holds your small cube shaped--ice cube shaped-diamond. It was an anniversary gift from your boyfriend, and now an everyday staple to your wardrobe.
Your economics textbook is sprawled out on your lap, but you're not really paying attention like you told Ice you would.
"I don't want to distract you from your schoolwork." He'd said after you informed him you'd be attending his Thursday practice.
"Okay, you won't." You smile evilly.
"You sure?"
"No."
He throws his head back and groans. "Angel, you shouldn't come then."
"It's fine Ice. I already finished my paper, I just have some econ homework."
He frowns, but doesn't protest when you lean on him to press a kiss to his chin.
And now, as you watch him run around in his uniform practice t-shirt and shorts, you close your textbook and shove it into your tote bag.
For the next hour you watch as Ice and his teammates run around and occasionally stop for water. When they break up and all head for the bench, Ice looks up and meets your eyes, you stand up and grab your tote bag. You make your way down to the fence that separates the field from the stadium, standing over Ice.
A few of his teammates linger, and you smile at them, reaching in your bag for the extra water bottle you brought. Ice frowns when he sucks the last of the water from his Yeti bottle, and you produce the extra.
“C’mere baby,” You coo, leaning down to pop a kiss on his mouth before handing him the water.
“Thanks angel.” He grins, teeth gleaming, before pulling the bottle to his mouth.
“Oh look, Iceman’s got his girl here!” One of his teammates, Nick, calls, a shit-eating grin on his face.
“Hey Goose!” You call back, brushing hair out of your face.
“Hey,” He walks up to Ice, slinging an arm around his shoulder. “Sorry doll, had I known you were here, I would’ve played better.”
You snort, shaking your head.
“Stop hitting on my girl, Goose.” Ice says, rolling his eyes.
“Yours for now,” He retorts. Ice’s teammates like to rile him up, and the best way to do it, is be involving you. Nick’s act is just that, an act. You know for a fact that he’s crushing hard on a girl in your friend group—Carole—he’s told you himself.
“Ooh, I don’t think Carole would like to hear that!” You tease, laughing when red paints his cheeks. He mumbles something about having to go, then grabs his stuff. You wait until everyone else has left before hopping over the fence, tossing your tote back to the ground, then sliding down right in front of Ice.
“Jesus baby, you gotta be careful.” He chides, giving you a stern look.
You give him an apologetic smile before sliding your arms around his waist. He can’t help the smile that captures his lips as he looks at you lovingly.
“You did good today.”
“Mmh?” He hums. “You a soccer expert now?”
You nod, running a hand through his sweat-slicked hair, the perspiration making the usual bright blonde locks, a much darker hue.
“I should be at this point. With how many games have I sat through with you? Oh and those youtube videos, and old game footage and—“
“Okay!” He cuts you off with an embarrassed laugh, pressing a quick kiss to your lips. “You are definitely an expert. And thank you.”
You chuckle and grin up at him.
“Wanna go get food?” You ask, hooking your arm into his. He nods, leaning over to kiss the top of your head.
“Then you can help me with the econ homework I didn’t finish.”
You break away from his arm and jog ahead so you can pretend you don’t hear his exasperated groan of your name.

Day 10: Blood In The Water
Pairings: Nick ‘Goose’ Bradshaw x sister!reader, Tom ‘Iceman’ Kazansky x fem!reader
Synopsis: What would have happened if it was you, Ice’s RIO, in that flat spin instead of Goose?
Warnings: mentions of death, panic attacks, crying, fainting, engine failure & plane crashes.
Note: wouldn’t mind expanding on this one after whumptober if people are interested
Word count: 1.3k
“Come on, Mav!” You called from behind Ice. The two of you were currently flying right behind Maverick, the arrogant pilot having cut you off to get a shot on the bogey. After many attempts, he was unsuccessful and now refusing to move to let you and Iceman get the shot. He was too close to get a proper shot lined up. The pissing contest between the two was really starting to get out of hand. “Get the hell out of there!”
With a roll of your eyes, you gave up on yelling at your brother's best friend and spoke to Ice instead. After little encouragement from you, it was his turn to yell at Maverick. “Mav! Come off high right,” You grinned, ready for Ice to make the shot. However, Mav insisted that he only needed five more seconds. “Come off high right, Mav. I’m in.” Everything seemed to be going fine. You and Ice were about to make the shot, putting you on top of the scoreboard.
But in the blink of an eye, everything went to hell.
“I’m off. Shit!” Maverick hissed, quickly pulling up and to the right. For a second, you were elated. This was the point that would put you over the edge. You were seconds away from winning the Top Gun trophy. That was before your stomach dropped and you realized what exactly was happening.
You froze, eyes screwed shut as you screamed at Ice. “We’re in his jet wash!” Distantly, you heard Ice curse in front of you. Your head was pounding against your skull, horror surging through your veins. The only thing you could do was hope that Ice could pull you out of it. This was not good. You peeled your eyes open when you heard a sensor going off. “Shit! We’ve got a flame out, Ice!” More sensors went off as your jet continued to spiral. “Engine one is out! Engine two is out!”
It was then that you heard the words you never wanted to hear from your pilot. He called your name in a rush. “I’m losing control, I’m losing control!” The panic in his voice was unlike anything you had ever heard before. “I ca- I can’t control it! It won’t recover!” He cussed again as the jet spun uncontrollably through the air.
You looked up with tears in your eyes, watching the view from the canopy switch from the dark ocean below to the bright blue sky. “We’re out of control! This is not good!” Before you could stop it, a sob bubbled out of your chest. It wasn’t often that you cried, and you knew that Ice needed you to be level-headed, but you couldn’t help yourself. You were about to die.
When Ice heard you crying behind him, it was as if something clicked in his mind. Suddenly, you stopped spinning. Now your jet was headed straight for the ocean. As a kid, you loved the water; splashing around in it with your brother. Now? Not so much. Through heavy breaths, you blinked sluggishly. Everything felt funny. Your head became fuzzy, it was harder to breathe and you felt sick to your stomach.
And then everything went dark.
In front of you, Ice was focused on pulling the two of you out of the flat spin. The two of you were going to make it through this. He was sure of it.
Only one hundred meters away, Goose watched, helpless as his baby sister and her pilot spun out of control. He would never tell Maverick this, but if there was one person that he was confident could recover from a flat spin, it was Iceman. When you had followed Goose to the academy only a few years after him, needless to say, he was worried. He was even more worried when you were paired with the infamous Iceman. After all, you were his baby sister. Nick Bradshaw would lay his life down to protect you. And everyone knew that.
One night, only a few days after you and Iceman had been paired up, Goose approached the cocky pilot that he considered his friend. Regardless of the fact that some would have assumed that Goose was really questioning Ice’s skill, Ice knew that your brother was simply looking out for you. And that was something that he could understand. That night, your pilot had promised to protect you with his life. If he could help it, no harm would ever come to you.
A few months later, Goose met Maverick. Even though Mav wasn’t at the academy, the two grew inseparable almost instantly. You had met Mav many times before being reunited with the pilot at Top Gun, however, he had never met your pilot. When you walked into the first class only a few weeks ago, Maverick’s jaw dropped at the sight of you strutting in with Iceman’s arm thrown over your shoulders. Needless to say, he was a bit jealous.
Maverick was never a religious man. But now, even he was praying that Ice could pull this off. Right now, his ego didn’t matter. Nothing mattered except for saving you and Iceman. Did he like the pilot? No. Did that mean that he wanted to watch him crash into the ocean? Hell no. Especially not if it meant you were going with him. You and Goose were the only family he had left. He wasn’t about to lose you.
“Mayday! Mayday! Ice is in trouble!” Simultaneously, Maverick and Goose’s jaws dropped. They both watched Ice pull off a miracle. Your jet was no longer spinning out of control. Instead, it was rising steadily. Even over the coms, they could hear Ice breathe a sigh of relief. But they weren't quite done yet. The next step was getting all four of you back to land without another incident.
Back on land, you were lying on the tarmac, out cold with Ice, Mav, and your brother hovering protectively over you. Ever so slowly, you blinked your eyes open, gasping quietly at the sight of the three aviators hovering over you. You only had a second to process what was happening before Goose collapsed onto you, clinging to you for dear life. There was a small smile on your face as you hugged him back.
Ice and Maverick sat back on their heels and made eye contact. Where there normally would have been anger or disdain, there was now thankfulness and understanding. A nod was shared between the two. And then your brother was launching himself at Iceman. Chuckling at the sight of your pilot's shocked face, you sat up slowly with the help of Mav. Ice shot a dazzling smile at you from over your brother’s shoulder and patted his back in reassurance.
“Thank you,” Goose pulled back, his expression as serious as you had ever seen it. “Thank you so much for keeping her safe.” Everyone’s expressions became sombre at the reality of what could have happened. Ice only nodded at your brother.
You were the next to hug him, falling into his arms and sniffling into his chest. His strong arms wrapped securely around you, keeping you anchored to the ground, to him. You could have sworn you heard him sniffle, but no one else ever had to know. When you sniffled again, holding him tighter, he rocked the two of you back and forth. And neither your brother, nor Maverick, needed to know that he pressed a delicate kiss to your temple seconds later.

Stuck at the Navy Ball
So… I decided I wasn’t done playin’ with the boys.
As this is a continuation of the original Stuck in the Middle fic, I highly recommend that you read through that before diving into this. Could you dive headfirst into this? Yes. There might be a little confusion, though.
Inspired by a comment someone left on SitM over on AO3.
Pairing: Tom “Iceman” Kazansky x F!Reader x Ron “Slider” Kerner Summary: You, Ice, and Sli haven’t lost that loving feeling. So when the flyboys are reunited at the 1986 Navy Ball, it's only natural that they bring a bit of chaos with them. Word Count: 4200 Warnings: Smut, bets and wagers, under-negotiated situations (but everyone involved is fine), fingering Chapter: 1/4 Minors DNI

Chapter 1: Under the Table
The invitation arrives early in September, printed on thick cardstock and addressed to your brother. But if Viper’s words are to be believed—and you’ve yet to hear of a situation in which they aren’t—Pete’s attendance isn’t exactly optional. So the summons finds its way from the trash onto the fridge, rough edges taped back together.
Please Join Us For the 211th Navy Ball. Monday, October 13th Washington D.C.
Cocktail Hour 1700 | Ceremony Begins 1800 Live Music. Food. Dancing.
The same invitation has Carole positively giddy. Born and raised in Virginia, she’s been looking for an excuse to fly east to visit her parents. And for a party? Isn’t that swell! Arrangements are made for Bradley to sleep at his grandparents on the night of the ball before Goose—whose PT-mandated wheelchair has landed him desk duty—is home from work.
Which is how, roughly one month later, you find yourself in Goose’s room at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill, sharing precious mirror space with Carole. Breathing in Aqua Net while putting the finishing touches on your looks.
The hotel calls the four of you a taxi, Goose’s wheelchair is stuffed into the trunk, and then you’re off to meet your date.
Singular.
There hadn’t been a question of if you’d attend or whose arm you’d decorate once Pete’s invite arrived. Officially, you’re at the ball with Ice. After Layton, Ice had made it a point to be seen with you while he was off-duty. Your relationship, which you’d tried to keep on the down-low, was worth showing off publicly after he and your brother had dropped their rivalry in favor of mutual respect. Friendship.
But the other half of your relationship was still very much under wraps.
That fact hadn’t stopped you from nodding eagerly when Ice pulled you close to ask you to attend the Navy Ball with him. Ice wants to climb the ladder, and earning stars is more than clambering into the cockpit every morning or disappearing on a carrier for the better part of a year at a time. It’s politics. It’s achieving perceived milestones on or ahead of schedule. And in October, for Lieutenant Tom “Iceman” Kazansky, naval aviator and promotion hopeful, it’s attending the Navy Ball with a woman on his arm.
Pete wrestles the wheelchair out of the trunk while Goose pays the cab driver. As you step into the crisp October evening, you marvel at the palatial, white-stone building that is to be the backdrop of your night. A steady flow of servicemen and women crossing beneath grand archways with their dates for the promise of a good night.
You aren’t left alone to gawk for long before you catch sight of them chatting with someone or another: decked in their whites, Slider leaning against the wrought iron rail and Ice to his side. Ice’s gaze flicks to you instantaneously, as if he’d felt your eyes land on him. The natural pout of his lips morphs into a grin as he excuses himself from the conversation and moves toward you against the flow of the crowd. Slider follows close behind, ultimately making his way to Goose, Carole, and your brother. But you catch the hesitation in his step. The course-correct.
Events like these will be challenging for the three of you—that had been a foregone conclusion—but this knowledge doesn’t make it any easier. It feels all sorts of wrong to have Slider keep himself at such a purposeful distance when you’re used to his proximity. Even at the O Club, he manages to stand close. Doesn’t shy away.
Before your mood can be irreparably embittered, Ice takes your hand in his and coaxes you into a slow spin. “You’re beautiful,” he coos as he kisses your cheek, and a delicate smile lights your lips.
The dress had been a surprise. Something you’d insisted on buying yourself despite Ice and Slider offering to pool their money for something truly extravagant. But after years spent in the foster system, even the thought of spending money on something so frivolous left a bad taste in your mouth. Instead, you’d taken Carole, your more comfortable budget, and found an old gala dress at a thrift shop. The sleek, black velvet gown up to your collarbones with the slightest sparkle as the fabric shifted beneath the store’s old lights ticked all your self-imposed boxes. A dress fit for an aspirational young officer’s date, even after Carole added a slit up the left side to show a little leg and “bring the dress into this decade.”
“Look who’s talking,” you say, squeezing Ice’s arm as it’s offered to you. Typically, the change of season calls for blues, but the Navy Ball is an exception to the rule. You wonder whose wife you have to thank for that because although your boys look damn fine in both, you have a not-so-hidden preference. “And Kerner didn’t clean up so bad, either,” you shoot in Slider’s direction with a playful grin.
“Surprised?” Slider asks, brow raised. You shrug because, no, you’re not surprised, but you aren’t sure what to say that will fly under the radar. And that’s the name of the night’s game. That doesn’t stop Pete from rolling his eyes as he passes you with Goose and Carole on their way to the building’s ramp.
The closest you ever got to a ball before tonight was prom—not yours; you’d been on staff at the venue. Frankly, you’d half expected you and Pete to have been blacklisted, given your father’s ill-gotten reputation, but they let you in without issue. You wonder if Pete’s face appearing on the front page of every magazine in the English-speaking world has anything to do with it, but you keep that to yourself while Ice, ever the gentleman, escorts you further into the event.
If the outside of the building is beautiful, then the inside is magnificent: all barrel vaulted ceilings decorated with Romanesque gold leafing and warm mahogany. A vast hall that steadily fills as guests arrive for cocktail hour and to mingle before the evening officially kicks off.
Slider spots Carole’s shock of blonde hair by a table with easy access for Goose and herds Ice in her direction. They aren’t alone at the table. “Merlin,” Slider barks, bounding over to shake his fellow RIO’s hand. “I thought you were stationed over the Atlantic. What’re you doing here?”
“Turned out to be an exercise. Over and back in sixty-two days.”
“And just in time for the party,” the woman at his side chips in, and Merlin wraps an arm around her to pull her close.
“Oh! Tom Kazansky, Ron Kerner, my wife, Laura.” Ice takes the opportunity to introduce you in turn. The conversation is easy-going, Ice and Slider filling Merlin in on their time instructing at Miramar.
Slider gets in several quips about Ice having a list of officers whose asses he needs to kiss to speed up a promotion when Ice spies one of said officers. He gently tugs you in the right direction so you can play the part of the doting girlfriend. The officer—a captain—quickly introduces you to his wife before he and Ice talk shop.
You manage to pluck a champagne flute from a waiter’s tray, sipping daintily and nodding along with the captain’s wife. Considering most of your knowledge concerning the Navy revolves around the planes your brother flies and the stunts he’s pulled in them, the conversation goes in one ear and out the other.
Not that it matters. Your role tonight—thankfully—is just to follow Ice around and look pretty.
The captain’s wife finishes her champagne in record time, and though you’re hesitant at first, you aren’t too far behind her. It is at this point, glass empty, that Slider appears like your guardian angel. “Captain,” he nods. “Ice.”
“Captain Reid, have you met my RIO?” Ice asks, knowing full well that Slider has no interest in schmoozing. Much like your brother, Slider is there because it is expected of him. Unlike Pete, Ice doesn’t need his friend’s emotional support or commiseration to make it through such events, mandatory or otherwise. Every opportunity like this is one Ice can use to his advantage.
Slider offers the captain a firm handshake. “Lieutenant Ron Kerner, sir.”
“Your RIO? I thought you were stationed at Miramar?”
“The perks of winning the trophy, sir,” pride leaks through as Slider says it. He and Ice worked damn hard to finish at the top of their class. “We’ve been together since flight school. When Ice took a teaching position at TOPGUN, I followed.”
“And how does a man of your stature fit in the cockpit, lieutenant?” the captain’s wife asks from beneath heavily painted lashes.
The grin Slider offers her is loose. “It’s a bit of a squeeze, but no complaints so far.” The minute narrowing of Ice’s eyes says behave. You nearly avoid snorting, hiding the unladylike compulsion behind the rim of your empty flute, a reflection off the crystal drawing Slider’s eye.
“Actually,” Slider says, hand twitching as if he’s had to stop himself from resting it against your back, “I noticed your glass is empty.” Sli nods toward the bar, an invitation to refill your glass. You look up at him with a grin—a genuine one, not the soft smile that’s grown stale throughout Ice’s conversation—acceptance on your lips when–
“Why didn’t you say anything?” Ice’s brow wrinkles, noticing for the first time that you’ve finished your drink.
”I didn’t want to interrupt,” is your bashful answer.
”Don’t be ridiculous,” Ice says. “I’ll come with you.”
”You don’t have to leave.” Slider will take care of me, you don’t say.
Ice picks up on the silent part but blatantly ignores it. His eyes take on that warm, charmed look, tongue peeking out before his lips curl into that honeyed smile you love so much. “You’re too good for me,” he says as if it’s a secret meant only for you. There’s no doubt he means it, but something about the way he’s playing the sentiment up for the brass makes it feel different in a way you’re not entirely comfortable with. No mistakes. “If you’ll excuse us, sir. Ma’am.”
Captain Reid is already turning to walk the room with his wife when Ice’s eyes narrow into what can only be described as a glare at Slider, his arm cementing itself around your waist in a way that probably looks far more relaxed than it feels.
”What?” Slider asks, shooting for casual, but now you’re not sure you’re buying it, either. “I’m just trying to do my part so you can talk to everyone on your list.” The subconscious flex of Ice’s jaw, as if he wishes he could chew out his frustration on the butt of a cig or some gum, doesn’t go unnoticed, but it does go unheeded. “Admiral Benjamin is on your list, right?” You perk up. As in Penny Benjamin? “I think I saw him by the corner with wife number three and Commander Johnson.”
“You know,” Ice says, his grin glacial, “it wouldn’t be such a bad thing if you rubbed elbows at an event like this.”
Slider scoffs, though it’s affectionate. “Why bother? We both know my military career ends when you take a desk job. Besides, I think my time is much better spent keeping your date’s cup full.” You’ve all agreed to go to the bar, but no one is moving. The tension between Ice and Slider is palpable.
”Okay,” you interrupt. There’s something off about their banter tonight. You’ve seen Ice stare down many a handful of people since landing in Miramar, but never Slider. It’s enough to raise a sculpted brow. “What am I missing?”
Slider senses blood in the water. Sees the smoke in the air. The grin he gives you is far tighter than the one he gave the captain’s wife. He opens his mouth, but Ice beats him to the punch. “You said something about grabbing my date a drink.”
Slider’s jaw clicks shut, but his grin isn’t so easily wiped away. “More champagne?” When you nod, Slider picks his way toward the bar while Ice escorts you to the side of the room where there’s more room to breathe and a lesser likelihood that someone will overhear when he presses close. “Sli’s upset that you’re with me tonight.”
That’s it? You hadn’t thought the arrangement would bother Slider so much. The three of you had discussed it and mutually concluded that you should go with Ice. That you had to go with Ice. Was Slider having second thoughts?
“Well, not upset,” Ice concedes at the concern that drags your lips down. “But he was talking a big game.”
Color you curious. “What’d he say?”
“Well,” Ice pulls you closer so his breath tickles your ear and you can smell the mint on his breath, “he thinks he can get you off before we leave the building. Steal you away while you’re being my pretty little girlfriend for the brass.” You gulp. Where is Slider with that drink?
”Oh.”
Ice chuckles. “Yeah. Oh. But I’m not worried.” Two fingers find their way under your chin and lift until your eyes meet Ice’s. “I know you’ll be good for me.”
“What’s the winner get?”
”Bragging rights.”
”And?”
It’s impossible to miss the way Ice’s eyes flit to your lips and linger there because he can. Those are the perks of being your date out in the light of day. “Can’t that be it?”
“Could be,” you breathe and slowly wet your bottom lip with your tongue, delighting in the way gray-blue eyes track the movement, “but it isn’t.”
Ice double-checks that no one is eavesdropping on your conversation. “You remember what got delivered the other day?” Your breath hitches. Yeah. You remember the catalog order you’d put in for a remote-controlled toy. The excitement and disappointment that had come with unfortunate delivery schedules. “Single-night, exclusive access once we’re all home.”
”That’s quite a lot on the line.”
”It would be,” Ice concedes, one large hand spanning the small of your back, warming you and holding you close enough you can breathe in his cologne, “but you can be good for me, right, baby? I’ll make it worth your while.” You nod, a little dumb as you inhale teakwood, sage, and sea salt.
It’s sure to be a profoundly satisfying night as long as you can stick to the script.
“I’m not going to make it easy on you,” Slider promises, appearing by Ice’s shoulder.
”Wouldn’t be fun if you did.” Ice’s smirk is all cocky confidence, cracking only when he notices Slider has only fetched two flutes of champagne.
”Only got two hands, Tommy,” Slider says with a toothy grin, “but I’ll keep her company while you grab yourself a glass.” The crystal buzzes with the steady fizz of bubbles, your fingers brushing Sli’s ever so slightly before Ice pulls you back into the throng.
The room becomes more difficult to navigate with each new attendee, but Ice only seems more in his element as cocktail hour drags on. He introduces you to a flurry of officers and their wives whose jewel-tone dresses all start to blend together, brushing shoulders with the men who ultimately control his upward trajectory.
On his arm, you smile and nod, interjecting where appropriate because, despite the smattering of female officers present, the Navy remains very much a boy’s club.
Still, it’s nice to be shown off so publicly. To delight in the knowledge that Ice’s attention never strays far from you despite his planned schmoozing. You preen each time he introduces you to someone new with a tender look—there are many things tonight that may be manufactured, but that look isn’t one of them.
An ache blooms in the ball of your foot as Ice delivers on the same script over and over to increasingly dismal company. The throbbing is nothing compared to the pinpricks in your cheeks, though. Beauty pageant smiles are their own form of torture. But this is important.
It’s all for a good cause.
Tonight is important to Ice, so it’s important to you.
You’d do anything for your boys: ignore every sour expression at your last name, force a pleasant laugh along with each rear admiral’s wife, stifle a relieved sigh when everyone is invited to find their seats for dinner.
The flyboys have claimed three closely clustered tables during your absence, forcing others to walk around them as they spill into the spaces between each table, leaning close to make up for the distance forced by post-graduation reassignments. Viper is curiously absent, or perhaps Jester had pulled the short straw and been stuck with babysitting duties.
But there’s someone you don’t recognize at your table, sat between Merlin and Slider, a stranger in your midst. A smile splits Ice’s face when he spots him. “Cougar?” The man stands and pulls Ice into a quick embrace, Ice’s hand on the man’s—Cougar’s—shoulder. Ice makes quick work of introducing you to Bill Cortell and his wife, Maria. “Cougar and I were like brothers in flight school,” Ice beams. “We were supposed to meet up at TOPGUN, but–”
”It turned out for the best,” Cougar cuts Ice off goodnaturedly with a quick nod toward Pete. “Besides, desk life isn’t so bad.” Ice raises a brow at the assertion while Goose lets out a ‘bullshit!’ “Okay,” he cedes, “it’s pretty bad, but I wouldn’t give up being at home with Maria and the kids for the world.” Maria, who is heavily pregnant, rests her hand over her bundle of joy.
The lights choose that moment to dim, commanding stragglers to find their seats, but neither man moves. Slider stands up. “Here,” he offers Ice his seat on Cougar’s left because the two clearly have some catching up to do. Ice takes the seat while you slide over to stay seated next to him, and Slider takes your spot as the lights come up on the stage for the opening ceremony.
By the time everyone is seated and some speaker makes his way to center stage, Ice is only half paying attention to the night’s program. He and Cougar have a lot to catch up on in appropriately hushed whispers. You’re about to zone out when you’re yanked back to the present by a hand on your knee.
Above the table, for prying eyes, Slider doesn’t give anything away. Attention seemingly focused on the stage. Below the table’s skirt, however, you press your thighs together as Slider’s hand massages the skin exposed by the modified slit in your dress. Familiar callouses drawing senseless patterns above your knee. His hand stays there, occasionally giving you a comforting squeeze, like he knows you crave reassurance through gentle touches after being dragged so far out of your comfort zone. It’s nice. Before long, between the buzz of quiet conversation and each soothing caress, you relax back into your chair.
Polite applause fills the room as the admiral gives the podium to the next presenter. Pete and Carole chuckle at something Goose murmurs. Wolfman yawns. Someone coughs. A waiter comes around to top off champagne.
You wrap your fingers around the delicate stem of your flute, raising it to your lips in the same instant that Slider’s palm shifts so it’s wedged between your thighs. Your sharp breath is lost in the crowd as nimble fingers creep higher, never once pausing their massage.
The corner of Slider’s lip tugs the slightest bit up. Smug bastard. When you’re sure no one is paying attention, you give his wrist a tug, but instead of retreating, Slider brushes a finger against the flimsy fabric of your panties.
Your heart jumps into your throat as you become hyper-aware of how loud your breathing is, and your brain kicks into overdrive. Can anyone hear you over the clink of glasses? Your nails dig into the meat of Slider’s wrist in surprise, but you’re fairly confident that the rest of you looks normal—suddenly, you’re not sure what that means.
Is this the way a normal person’s mouth rests? The way a normal person sits in their chair? You need to leave, but you can’t. Being good for Ice, among other things, means not causing a scene. Not fleeing the room in the middle of a presentation. Not letting anyone know that while your boyfriend dutifully splits his time between the podium and his colleague, his RIO is pushing your underwear to the side for better access to your cunt. How you’re responding to his touch.
“Hey.” Pete’s giving you a strange look from across the table. “You okay?” From the way he’s pulled a face, you missed the bar for normal, and now Goose and Carole are also looking your way.
“I’m fine,” you hiss. “I-” need a distraction. You mentally stumble as Slider continues to stroke up and down your slit, his fingers spreading the wetness until they glide effortlessly through your lips.
The universe grants your wish when the crowd bursts into polite applause and the mic is turned over to the next speaker. “Isn’t that Admiral Benjamin?”
“As in Penny Benjamin?” Carole perks up, sitting tall in an attempt to get a better look at the stage while Pete bangs his head onto the table. Probably. You’re admittedly not paying attention.
Pleasure zings up your spine as thick fingers nudge your clit. A reward for redirecting the eyes on you. It’s everything you can do not to press your hips into the pressure or let your head loll back with a gasp. And with Penny’s father keeping attention off of you, Slider hooks an ankle around yours to encourage your legs further apart.
You shouldn’t, but Slider has always been convincing.
Ice won’t be particularly pleased with how promptly you gave into Slider’s suggestions, how readily your legs fall open, but that’s barely a blip on your radar as firm circles rub into your clit. The devil on your shoulder whispers that if Ice had really wanted to win, he shouldn’t have allowed himself to be so easily distracted.
None of that matters nearly as much as it should when your heart pulses between your legs.
A hand lands on your velvet-covered thigh. Ice. “Sweetheart.” You whip your head around too quickly for the move to be anything but suspicious. Like you’ve been caught with your hand—or someone else’s—in the cookie jar. You try to focus on the cool, grounding pressure of his touch. It’s working, you think, but your leg is still trembling from the effort it takes to keep still. Keen eyes move from your face to your leg, trembling under his touch, to your lap, and then to Slider, where they narrow almost imperceptibly. “You alright?”
With a nod, you reach past your champagne for water to wet your dry throat. “Just taking it all in.”
A poor choice of words. Ever the opportunist, Slider presses a finger into your hole, the stretch delicious and unexpected enough that you almost choke. If anyone catches the color on your cheeks, you hope they’ll blame your earlier drinks.
“I was just saying I didn’t know Maverick had a sister,” Cougar says, this time loud enough for the table to hear him.
“He doesn’t talk about me much.”
“Yeah,” Pete scoffs, “because when people find out about you, this–” he gestures between you and Ice “–happens.”
“You got any other sisters, Mav?” Chipper’s question from the next table over prompts Pete to load a pomegranate seed onto this salad fork. He’s ready to launch, but a disapproving look from Jester dissuades him. Goose flips Chipper the bird in a show of solidarity.
“So when did this happen?” Cougar asks, eyes flitting from you to the blonde on your right.
Slider chuckles and leans into the conversation at the same time as he crooks his fingers. You bite the inside of your cheek. The circles Ice is rubbing into your knee aren’t as distracting as either of you wants them to be. “He hasn’t been able to keep his hands off of her since we made it to Miramar.”
Hypocrite. You clear your throat. “About five months?”
“Aw,” Maria sighs in that way so many in long-term relationships do. You try and fail to focus on that as a second finger prods at your opening before pushing in slowly. “You’re still in the honeymoon phase.” Thankfully, Ice steps in with a reply because all you can hear is the blood rushing in your ears when Slider rubs his fingers against your sweet spot, thumb applying steady pressure to your clit. Your nails dig crescent moons into Ice’s wrist in a last-ditch attempt to ground yourself because if Slider keeps this up, it’s going to take a miracle to keep you from causing a scene.
“Sorry to interrupt,” Viper’s unapologetic quip appears from seemingly nowhere. Your own personal savior. “I need to borrow Iceman and Slider, Maverick and Merlin, Hollywood and Wolfman.”
You shiver at the abrupt emptiness. Slider wipes his fingers, dripping with arousal, off on the tablecloth, eyes locked on Ice.

"only bought this dress so you could take it off"
Song: Dress by Taylor Swift
Pairing: bob floyd x reader (afab)
Warning(s): Allusions to smut (not written) & Aftercare
Word Count: 1,913
Summary: Y/N had just moved to Miramar and was invited to the Navy Ball in San Diego by her roommate. Soon when the both of them arrived, Y/N was met with a face she hasn't seen in a long time.
Backing away from the full length mirror, I admired the dress I picked out a few days ago. The muted gold beaded dress hugged my waist in all the right ways. With it being off the shoulder and a sweetheart neckline, it showed the right amount of chest without it being too scandalous.
“Wow, you look amazing.” I looked over to see my roommate, Natasha, entering my room.
“Are you sure? I mean is this appropriate for a naval ball?” I turned to face her.
“Yes, all heads will turn to you when you enter the ballroom,” she reassured me. “Who knows? Maybe a navy man will approach you and you end up going on a date with him, but if it’s Hangman, straight up reject him.”
I laughed at what she said. “Nat, I just moved here two weeks ago, I’m not looking for a relationship yet.”
Ever since I moved to San Diego two weeks ago, I’ve been more focused on my teaching job. I work at the local high school near a navy base as a science teacher. I was hired when the school year already started so I've been catching my students up since the substitute teacher they had barely got them learning.
“Well, the Lyft is almost here, you should finish getting ready,” she told me before leaving my room.
Slipping on a pair of gold heels, I grabbed my clutch and double checked the inside to see if I had all of the things I needed. Closing it, I walked out of my room and walked out of the house with Natasha after she locked the front door. Getting into the car, our driver started to drive us to the US Grant hotel.
“Hey, everything is going to be fine,” Natasha squeezed my hand. “All of the Dagger Squad is going to love you.”
We soon pulled up to the hotel and saw a bunch of naval higher ups in their uniforms with their plus ones. I’m pretty sure that I also saw some politicians entering the hotel. Natasha and I soon walked in and headed to the ballroom entrance where we showed our identifications along with invites.
When we walked in, I started to feel overwhelmed. Many members of the Navy and their plus ones filled the room while a live band played music.
“Oh, I see them!” Natasha started to drag me to where her friends were. “Guys, meet Y/N.”
I was soon met with two dark skinned men, one with a buzzcut, another one with a somewhat porno mustache, and one who looked like a real life Ken doll. She soon started to introduce me to them with their actual names and call signs. More of the members came and I was introduced to them along with her captain and his husband.
“Guess who finally showed up,” Jake announced. “How long does it take to get a soda?”
“Y/N, meet-” I looked over to see who came and I froze.
“Robbie?” His name fell out of my mouth.
“Y/N? Is that you?” He asked.
“Oh my god, it’s been so long.” I walked up and hugged him.
“It has.” He returned my hug.
“Wait, is this the Robbie you told me about?” Natasha asked.
“Yeah,” I nodded my head.
“Are we missing something here?” Mickey asked.
“Yeah, did you and Baby on Board used to have a thing or?” Jake asked.
“Baby on Board?” A confused look formed on my face when I heard the name he gave Robbie.
“No, we used to be childhood friends back in North Carolina,” Robbie explained.
“Yeah we’ve lived in the same neighborhood until I had to move to Arizona because my dad got a new job,” I nodded and pointed to Natasha. “That’s where I met Natasha.”
“And we’ve been inseparable until we had to leave for college.” Nat wrapped her arm around my shoulders. “It took me some convincing to get her to move down here.”
“Well, I had to finish both of my masters,” I told her.
“Two masters?” Admiral Kazansky raised his eyebrow.
“Yes, one in mechanical engineering and one in physics, but I also have a teaching credential for physics.” I smiled proudly.
“Do you mind if we continue this conversation while I get myself another drink?” The admiral asked me.
“I don’t mind at all Admiral,” I answered while linking arms with him.
While on our walk to the bar, he started asking me questions about my studies and why I double majored. I also talked about my time studying my undergrad at Cal Poly and getting my masters/teaching credential at the University of San Francisco.
Throughout our conversation, I glanced at the other side of the room to see Robbie talking to some of his squadron members. We would send each other a smile if we made eye contact with each other.
Soon a familiar tune filled my ears and the room. Placing my drink down on the bar, I faced the admiral.
“Excuse me sir, but I have to do something,” I excused sir.
“It’s no problem, also call me Tom.” He smiled and I nodded my head.
Hurrying myself to the other side of the room, I made my way to where Robbie was. When I saw him leaning against the wall as he listened to his friends, a smile came onto our faces as lyrics started to echo through the room. Handing his drink to Ruben, I grabbed his arm and dragged him to the dance floor as Come On Eileen played. (A/N I just imagine the dance scene in Perks of Being a Wallflower) We started to do the dance routine that we created when we were kids whenever this song played through the stereo. We continued to dance to the song and sang out the lyrics.
“Wow, it’s been a while since we last did that,” I caught my breath after he dipped me and we moved to a slow dancing position.
“I’m surprised that we still remember it,” he chuckled.
“After the amount of times we perform this dance in front of our families, I would be surprised if we don't remember the moves,” I looked up at him.
He still had the same face from what I remembered as a little kid, but it was more defined. He was still the shy and reserved kid that I knew of as I grew up.
“Hey, wanna head out?” He whispered in my ear which sent chills down my spine.
“Sure,” I agreed.
He led me off the dance floor and went to his squad.
“It’s been great meeting you all. I hope we get to see each other again,” I told everyone.
They all said their goodbyes and Robbie and I left the hotel ballroom. As Robbie and I waited for the valet to bring his wrangler around, I felt him put his coat over my shoulders and wrapped his arm around them. Leaning against him, I looked up at him and gave a smile. Soon the wrangler was pulled up and he helped me into the car. Getting into the driver’s seat, he closed the door and untied the tie he was wearing.
During the drive to Natasha and I’s house, we were sharing stories and memories from our childhood. He also explained the reason why Jake called him Baby on Board sometimes. I laughed at the stories that he had with his crew. I guess he’s glad that he’s permanently stationed here with his crew.
Pulling up in front of the house, he got out of the driver’s seat and helped me out of the car. Walking me up to the door, we stood there for a moment, waiting to see what happens next.
“Thanks for taking me home,” I thanked him.
“No problem, it’s nice seeing you again,” he smiled. “You look beautiful by the way.”
“Thank you,” I looked down at the ground and blushed.
I soon felt his fingers touch my chin and moved my head to face him. Don’t know the reason why but I started to feel my heart begin to race as my stomach fluttered. Leaning my head in as his did, our lips touched and moved. It continued for a few more seconds as it got more passionate until we detached, looking at each other with a blush on our faces.
“Did that just?” I asked.
“Yeah, it did,” he nodded his head.
“Well, I should head in now,” I told him and grabbed my house key from my clutch.
Unlocking it, I pushed open the door and walked into the house without closing the door. I tossed my clutch on the kitchen island and started my walk down the hallway to my room. Hearing the sound of Robbie’s footsteps entering the house, I looked over my shoulder a little and gave him a wink. Entering my room, I took off my heels and started to unzip the back of my dress.
“Need help with that?” I heard Robbie’s voice enter my room.
“Please,” I answered despite me not needing any help.
Chills were sent throughout my body as I felt his breath hit my neck as he slowly unzipped my dress. I bit the inside of my lip as he started to place kisses down my neck. With my dress off, leaving me in my undergarments, I turned and started to kiss him as he led me to my bed.
*Aftercare*
Tangled up in my bed sheets, Robbie laid flat on his back while I laid my head on his chest. One of his arms wrapped around my waist while the other drew circles on my thigh.
“Imagine if we told younger us that we’ll be in this situation,” I chuckled, looking up at him.
“I feel they would be grossed out,” he let out a laugh. “I miss this, I miss us hanging out with each other.”
“Me too,” I agreed. “It sucked that we weren’t able to keep in contact with each other.”
He nodded his head and hummed in agreement. “But hey, we got to see each other again even though it took over ten years.”
“True,” I laughed.
“I know I already said that you look beautiful but that dress on you is amazing,” he complimented me.
“Well, I should buy that dress in other colors if it makes you do this,” I smirked as I gestured to us in bed.
“Nah, anything you wear can make me feel like this,” he placed a kiss on my lips.
“This isn’t going to affect our friendship right?” I asked him.
“I already lost you once, not losing you again,” he said while pulling me closer to him.
I smiled and laid my head on his chest letting out a yawn. Closing my eyes, I drifted off to sleep.
*The Morning After*
Opening my eyes, I looked over to see Robbie still sleeping. Smiling to myself and last night’s events, I quietly got out of bed and threw on his dress shirt. Walking out of my room, I walked down the hall to the kitchen to see Natasha standing there with a cup of coffee and a smirk on her face.
“So, my backseater huh?” She asked.
“Shush,” I blushed a little while pouring myself a cup of coffee.
“Hey, just saying he’s a really good guy but you already know that,” she told me.
Soon we heard footsteps revealing Robbie in his boxers and hair disheveled.
“Yeah, he really is.”

✨Take My Breath Away✨
Summary: Valentine's prompt Flowers (3) and Dancing (7) -- Iceman x Reader
Words: 1.7k
Tags: pure fluff !! Ice being super awkward with feelings. No proof reading.

════ ⋆★⋆ ════
From the beginning of your training as the first female pilot to today, hiding your weakness had become a habit. Feeling sick or tired? You would double your efforts and work even more than on a normal day. Feeling depressed? You would reply to the constant teasing with a sharp and confident smile as if you were ready to eat them alive. Especially Hollywood, who you could not put up with. Even when your period cramps were tearing your uterus and the hormones would rattle your nerves, you kept working hard, your face was always hidden behind a mask of total indifference. Maverick and Goose often joked about your frozen demeanor, comparing you to Iceman when it came to expressing emotions. But contrary to Kazansky, no one had given you the choice. The slightest weakness shown could be used against you by the pack of ferocious and macho pilots, whose only wish was to see you fall.
The black tea you had let cool down on the coffee table had stopped smoking. An unpleasant chill ran down your spine, which made you snuggle a bit more in the heavy and warm blanket you wrapped yourself with when you came back to your bedroom. Your fingers reached for the cup’s handle and brought the tea to your lips. The first sip warmed your whole soul. You felt like you had just swallowed a little fragment of sun, which lit up you from the inside. A sigh of relief escaped from your mouth, soon followed by your eyelids slowly closing. Finally, you thought, you could finally rest and forget about Valentine’s. A hot tea, a blanket, and music coming from your radio were all you needed. The sights of pilots gifting flowers and chocolate to girlfriends almost made you sick. Men… They were all the same. You did not always hate Valentine’s Day though. There was a time you could not wait for your boyfriend to come home with the cliché but oh-so-romantic box of chocolates et flowers. Cheesy, but absolutely heartening. You remembered how your expression would suddenly become cheerful at the sight of the handsome soldier with gifts in his hands, waiting for you in the middle of the door’s frame. There were Valentine’s Days with John and now, those without him. You clenched your jaw at such bittersweet memories: you had loved him so much… Until you found him in bed with another woman.
Another sip of tea, another wave of warmth coating your frozen heart with its delicious aroma. It was not particularly late but you decided to go to sleep, after all, it was not like you had a date or something. You had barely got up from the couch when you heard someone knocking at your door. Your brows furrowed for you were not expecting visits. At first, you hesitated: what If you just didn’t answer? Your social battery was so empty that the last thing you wished for was to hold a conversation. Nevertheless, you still dragged your exhausted body to the door and opened it.
“Listen, I’m fucking tired and—“ You cut mid-sentence.
“And?” A calm and cold voice retorted.
You looked up and your eyes were met with freezing blue irises. Tom “Iceman” Kazansky was standing fiercely at your door, hands crossed behind his back and his whole posture screaming military discipline. You had expected anyone knocking at your door, anyone except Iceman. The corner of his mouth moved in a quick and faint smirk, betraying his emotions: he was amused by how you reacted to his presence. While you could easily make men shit themselves, Kazansky was the only one who would face you at the slightest inconvenience. He was harsh, he was scary, but he also was the only one who never made inappropriate comments about you. He was difficult to prove, consequently you never knew if he liked you or hated you — or if your presence was just insignificant to him. Coming back to your senses, you took a step back and crossed your arms on your chest.
“What do you want, Kazansky” Your tone was suddenly less impetuous now that Ice was towering over you. He remained silent for a little while, his cerulean eyes observing each trait of your face as if the answer to all his worries was hidden somewhere on your skin. He finally blinked, realizing that he was probably staring at you for too long and that it was awkward.
“Take.” Stern tone. No extra words. Ice was the kind of man who liked going straight to the point. Maybe that was why he handed you the charming bouquet of red roses he had hidden behind his back without utterly the slightest explanation. You opened your eyes wide: he took your breath away as if he had just thrown you a punch right in the guts. Tom “Iceman” Kazansky was standing at your door, roses in his hand and they were for you. Blood rushed to your face.
“Are you gonna take them or not?” The tall blonde pilot said, raising an eyebrow. His jaws were moving for he was chewing gum — he always did since he quit smoking.
“Oh, yes!” You shook your head, his attractive voice snatching you from your thoughts, “Yes!” You repeated before taking the flowers from his hands and burying your nose in their delicate petals to sniff at their pleasant scent. It was the first time Ice saw a genuine smile flattering your juicy lips and, to be true, it made him melt. Even though he did not let it show.
“Thank you Ice, this is very nice.” You said, nose still hidden among the red roses.
“Well,” He cleared his throat, not really sure what to do now. Slider told him to take off his shirt and show his abs, but he was not sure about it. Bradshaw and Mitchell would have sung you a ridiculous love song, but doing so was absolutely out of question. And concerning the florist, she only told him to offer the bouquet and wait for his lover to make the first step — but you were not having any peculiar reaction. What did he do wrong?
“See you tomorrow, I guess.”
“Ice?” Raising your face from the bouquet, you offer him a shy smile with glimmering eyes. Your face was dressed in a look you had never given to a pilot since you broke up with John.
“Yes?”
“Come in.” You winked and let him come into your bedroom. Then, you put the red roses in a little flower pot you had brought from your mom’s house. As you took care of the bouquet, the blonde pilot stopped in the middle of the room and looked all around him. To be honest, He believed that a bedroom could tell a lot about someone. For example, his was neat, clean, and completely impersonal. No family pictures, no letters, no plushies, nothing. Sometimes you wondered if Tom Kazansky could be anything else than Iceman. You could not picture him being a father, nor a son, nor a casual man. He was just… Ice.
Yet, a small grin stretched the corner of his lips. He had just spotted the adorable family picture you had on your nightstand, displaying a little Y/N piggybacked by your father. Behind you was standing an impressive Biplane straight from World War I. He knew you came from a family of pilots, but he did not expect your father to own such an incredible machine.
"You look so happy." Ice stated, his voice softer than usual.
"I was. My dad would often take me with him when he flew the Fokker. I think there are my favorite memories of him. He would tell me that, one day, I'll be ready to fly it by myself."
When Iceman noticed the tint of melancholy in your voice, he could not help but gently bring his hesitant fingers to one of your shoulders. He, who was always confident, felt like a shy kid. Even though he already had relationships, they were all one night stands. Which did not help him to understand the mysteries behind social interactions. The unexpected physical contact sent a shiver down your spine -- You never realized how eager you were for him to touch you until today. You both remained silent for a while, Ice gently caressing your shoulder with his thumb as the first notes of Take My Breath Away by Berlin echoed in the room. The blonde pilot took a deep breath and glanced at you, his frost eyes enjoying the sight of your delightful silhouette.
"Hey."
Surprised when he broke the silence, you turned to him with a questioning look on your adorable face. Ice's smile grew bigger, showcasing his perfect white teeth in a surprisingly tender grin. His blue eyes left yours only to fall on your lips, which immediately made your whole body heat up. Why the hell were you reacting like that? Of course, you had always thought Kazansky was a handsome man but not a handsome potential boyfriend. At least, that was the case until he smiled.
"I really love this song." He said, always uttering a sufficient amount of words. Gathering his courage, he wrapped your waist with his strong arms with an indescribable softness. Then, he brought you closer.
"Ice--" You locked yours around his neck, not really knowing what you were doing.
"Shhhh." The way your expression shift when you were surprised sent a jolt of arousal through his body. He let out a long exhale through his nostrils and, with small and slow steps, he pulled you in a slow dance. Your whole being faltered at his touch as well as at his freezing eyes diving into yours. The first hesitant movements were soon swept away by more confidence.
Watching, I keep waiting, still anticipating love Never hesitating to become the fated ones Turning and returning to some secret place to hide Watching in slow motion as you turn to me and sayMy love, take my breath away
You closed your eyes, your head now gently resting on his chest while you were still slowly swirling on the song's rhythm. As the soft melody of his beating heart lulled your broken soul, you finally found peace.
There had been Valentine's days with John and those without. But the more important ones were those you spent with Iceman. Because since winter 86', he would keep bringing you red roses and still make you slow dance with him in the living room each Valentine's Day.
Even after you became Mrs. Y/N Kazansky.

Iceman. Ice cold, no mistake and—wait he has a kid?! | Top Gun Fanfic ❄️
Summary: The day people find out about Iceman’s private life would be the day he makes sure, he knows it firsthand. In other words, Tom Kazansky meets his future wife the day his fellow pilot finds out about his daughter.
Established father daughter relationship: Iceman & Skysolo
Pairing: Tom “Iceman” Kazansky x Hazel "Daredevil" Quinn
Note: Pre-Top Gun Maverick, so Amber Kazansky is around 5-7 years old
——
There were many things Iceman was, or least how he presented himself to people. Strong, levelheaded, flies ice cold and no mistake if he had a say in it.
Some people were honest a bit scared of the man, might even idolized him, and even rather intimidated to say the least due to his looks.
Yeah sure he was rather layback and chill, cracking a few wisecracking jokes with his teammates and family. Swearing his cheeky smile with pride. Ask Maverick or Slider, they’ll tell ya the truth to that showing smile.
But one thing that Iceman made sure was to keep his private life separate from his aviation one. At home, he was just Tom. Tom Kazansky.
And there is a reason why.
His daughter.
Amber Nic Kazansky.
His angelcake, his little snowball, and his reason to keep fighting. His angel eyes. He kept her private from the public eye, safe and sound in his arms. Mentioning his kid every once in a while at work but people always assumed he was talking about Maverick’s kids or Goose’s son.
Because he was considered their uncle, to everyone on base.
But they don’t ever assume his own. He didn’t blame them, he never specifically said his daughter name out loud to the masses to hear. Only his close family and friends knew about Amber’s existence. She was one of Maverick’s sweethearts afterwards and Slider’s little glamorous girl.
And if ever did his angel eyes to work, he made sure she never left his sight. It was a big place, she could get lost however Amber was smart enough to know her way around the base too, even if Tom liked it or not…
Such as today.
Tom wasn’t supposed to have work that weekend, it was Sunday for gods sake but his bosses had other plans for the Lieutenant Commander. He was called in to finalize some paperwork, check on installations and probably head to some meetings. Which meant he would be stuck in his office for most of the day.
Tom sighed, knowing he had no choice but to bring Amber with him due to Maverick being busy and his sister being in another freaking state. However he didn’t mind the company, since he was able to show his daughter the planes, possibly getting to see a familiar face such as Wraith or Hollywood, look at the frames on the wall and the view of the building from where they were standing.
And to be honest, Amber loved it. She was shy about it all but she couldn’t help but grin. Her eyes sparkled at the huge planes, the classrooms filled with aviators, the darling style of the technology they had and clean cut frame of the building.
Tom stayed in his office playing the radio and doing paperwork with Amber by his side sitting in the blue beanbag beside from desk. Even though Tom was working, he pauses writing on a form hearing his 7 year old curls bounce as she sang one of the songs on the radio as she played with her Barbie dolls.
“And here we go, we know the start, we know the end!” She sang, brushing her doll’s hair with such passion, “Masters of the scene. We’ve done it all before and now we’re back to get some more..”
“You know what i mean.” Tom sang along softly, twirling his pen in between his finger grinning, “Voulez-Vous!”
One thing was sure was how much she loved singing ABBA’s popular songs when it came on the radio. She definitely got it from her aunts and uncles, he can’t blame her. When music like that starts playing it becomes contagious, where you just have to sing along.
Amber stood up from her beanbag chair and started to twirl around, dancing holding out a hand for Ice to take. He hesitated cause he was at work but he shrugged, removing himself from his seat taking his daughter’s hand and twirl her around. Her infectious laugh and cheeky grin matched her father’s gracefully.
The two of them, dancing until the song was over and radio played Dolly Parton’s 9 To 5. Tom returned back to his desk, twirling the pen back in his hand chuckling. Meanwhile Amber went to grab the grapes that were packed in her bag as she sat down and ate, looking out the window at the planes.
———
A few short hours later, Slider walked in greeting his niece and best friends, sitting down to talk with Ice over the planes they would flying next weekend. Amber was finally starting to get bored and begging her father to walk around the base with him. She wanted to spend time with him or her uncles to explore for a while, instead of being laying around in an office.
Slider noticed the look on his niece’s face and said, “Oh come Tom, it’s just a little walk to see the other side of base. I know your overprotective but cut the baby some slack.”
“Ron. I know that, she’s been here before she could walk but what if she gets lost, huh? Half of people don’t even know about her.” Tom explained, with a sigh.
“She’ll be fine! Won’t you, baby?”
“Slider!”
“Ice! We’ll have fun, right babygirl?”
Amber smiles, “Yeah! Daddy pleaseeee! I will be careful.”
With a sigh, he nodded and replied, “Alright. Okay, you can go and explore the base but be careful. I don’t want you getting lost or get both of you and your uncles in trouble.”
“No promises. They are a bunch of cowboys like you said.”
“Clever girl. And watch your tone.”
Slider chuckled taking his niece’s hand and teased his best friend on how they’re gonna cause some trouble. Probably even bring Goose and Mav along for the ride. Ice just rolled his eyes and chuckled at them.
Ron knew that his niece was very important to his pilot’s life and understood why he’s been overprotective of her since day one. He was a single father, yeah sure their friends were there too but Tom was the main caretaker of his daughter’s life. Of course he wanted her safe and sound wherever she is. It was also a private part of his life, that he wanted to maintain calm and not go off the rails.
But like everything, change happens and surprises come along the way. Weather he liked it or not.
He was talking to Hollywood when it did, keeping Amber close by the tarmac of the planes. Hollywood was kneeling down to the girls height, letting her play with his helmet in the meantime.
Both men were chatting about the way the newer pilots almost got jet washed during training session a couple of days ago and how they needed to tweak the planes safety alerts. Amber was holding Hollywood’s helmet and enjoying the colors when something caught her eye. More like someone.
On the tarmac, drew out a nice sliver dollar plane as if someone just gotten off the skies and landed on the ground. She caught wind of the small wave of damage the plane got on the edges but the man—no women, since she removed her helmet, who step out of cockpit, climbing out of the darn thing had some trouble finding grin on her.
She didn’t know if to be impressed or intimidated by her.
Dark locks like her uncle Mav, a dark olive green jumpsuit like all the other aviators and attention grabbing attitude towards the person she was talking to. Amber didn’t get a good look at her face though. So in her brain, she couldn’t if she was good news or not.
She was taken out of her gaze, following her uncle Slider and Hollywood inside still holding the helmet. Slider was called by Viper for something real quick, leaving her with Hollywood. Amber got a bit annoyed at that, she wanted to explore but she got stuck sitting on a bench instead.
It was half bad, due to her and Hollywood talking about the latest movie she saw.
Since her dad and uncles took her, Bradley, Austin, Jenny and Dane to see a rereleased of The Empire Strikes Back. The kids haven’t seen those movies yet, so it was their first time. But Hollywood couldn’t go cause he was too busy so he couldn’t, instead Wolfman went taking his place.
“And then Luke fought Darth Vader! Austin screamed saying he could do it better than him. And I said ‘no you can’t!’ but he didn’t believe me.” Amber exclaimed with a laugh, “Why did Leia kiss Luke then Han in the movie?”
Hollywood chuckled at her enthusiasm for the movie and repiled, “Well he did to prove a point to Han. But you kids will have to watch the next one to find out what happens. Did your Aunt Carole or Drey took you to see The Little Mermaid yet?”
“No! They said we gotta wait for they can buy it and we can watch it at home. But I wanna see it.”
“How about I see if I can get Drey to change her mind? How does that sound? She owes me a date anyway.”
Amber giggled at that and nodded, suddenly she had to use the restroom and Hollywood pointed to go down the hallway, next to the double doors. He watched her from where he was standing, smiling.
———
After she used the restroom, Amber noticed that Hollywood wasn’t there anymore but on the other end of the hallway talking with Wolfman. She rolled her eyes and grunted, rushing her with a glare to Hollywood.
“Hey! You said you’d wait for me.” Yelled Amber, tugging at his pant leg with a glare that similar to Iceman.
Expect that glare had a hint of fire within them, like there was smoke behind the ice cold blocks. Wolfman noticed it and would’ve chuckled if he wasn’t a bit confused about Amber being here. He was sure he saw her walking with Slider earlier.
“I’m sorry, kiddo! I got caught up with Wolf, he will telling me something important.” Hollywood apologize, for his mistake but he still saw the glares.
He noticed Amber walking away, her temper and annoyance getting the best of her. All she wanted was a small walk around the base with someone like her aunts or uncles but they were more or less distracted with work. She couldn’t even blame them for being caught up with work but she was smart enough to know she deserves some attention and respect.
Hollywood and Wolfman chased after the 7 year old, as her blonde locks bounced across the hallways of the base finding herself in the wonders of the building. She pushed her bangs past her eyes, popped up her collar of her jacket.
A few mutters and mumbles could be heard of people asking who’s child was that around the corner, as she stopped in front of the rows of pictures frames displaying days of older class photos. From 1960s to now. She blocked out the whole noise of officers, captains, commanders and even some lingering lieutenants who walked past her.
She saw a few pictures frames of planes her favorite was the Tomcat due to the display of grays and or blues, speaking volumes of the way it swords the skies and classic modeling that carried two passengers. She knows her uncle Mav had small miniature replicas near the speakers at his house, telling the kids to not play with them.
She wasn’t one to absolutely desire the trill of piloting one of those lovely things. But she wouldn’t mind being in the backseat of one, watching them go fast and the high from being in the clouds. Hell, her uncle Merlin and Maverick took her in one of those for a quick joy ride before her surprise birthday party last year. They were only off the ground for a few minutes, nothing special but it was fun.
Amber sighed, smiling softy at the pictures wishing she wasn’t alone but with her uncles. Like Merlin, Maverick, Slider or even her uncle Buzz. But then again, she did run away from them and they were busy.
She heard a loud, “Kazansky!” as she wiped her head around to see Jester and Stinger talking probably searching for her father.
As one of their fellow members, said that he was in his office and heading to a meeting.
She even heard Cain’s voice yelling “Maverick! Kazansky better get say something good about you and Merlin’s flying today or so god help me!”
She was rather shy but curious, when it came to things like this. Her uncle Mav always got into trouble for his interesting, in color words to say the least, flying skills. She winced hearing the yelling of her last name and others across the hall, as you can hear plenty muffled noises in between. Amber didn’t like it, so she glanced at the pictures once again, this time being of the 86’ class and ran finding herself outside of a briefing room.
She knew the room she stood outside of, being the same one her dad’s higher rank, Viper, taught the 86’ class in. Well it was very much similar, at least. She stood on her tippy toes at the window, looking inside to find it empty inside but the door easily locked.
It was across the small hallway her father would possibly be having his meeting in. Amber instead of boring herself, she found herself wondering outside the window playing with one of the tiny toy Blackbird plane, she had in her pocket that she took her father’s desk at home and placed it against the glass window pretending to fly it.
She giggled to herself softly using imagination and said, “Ladies and gentlemen, this is Officer Kazansky speaking. I will be showing here the flight manners, I liked to call a barrel roll. And if you’re lucky, you can surprise the other pilots with this one by sneaking up on them.”
Little did she know, some female works were walking past her and listening giggling catching onto her last name. Some were confused even shocked, plenty around it adorable and others were jealous thinking that Tom ‘Iceman’ Kazansky was secretly taken if that was really his kid.
——
Just as Ice was about to enter his meeting with Jester, Cain and Stinger to explain his wingman actions up in the sky, Slider went rushing in as as Maverick was about to head inside.
“H-HEY! I-Ice, we got a little—” Slider began to explain what he heard from Hollywood and Wolfman, but was surely cut off.
“Where’s my kid?” Tom asked, looking over his shoulder and around for his daughter.
“I was just about to get to that. Long story short, I left her with Holly for a while and when I came back, he and Wolf said she was gone.”
“Gone or ran? Amber ain’t gonna run out unless something happened.”
Maverick cut in, “Wait! Amber’s here?! In the building?! Slider what’s wrong with you?”
“Hey! It wasn’t my fault Viper called me earlier into his office, so I left her with the guys! They said she ran from them as the two started to chase her down." Slider said, telling the shorter pilot.
“Find her! I don’t care about myself right now, I’ll take the heat like always but Jester would be more mad that you guys left a child unattended in the building.”
Tom shared a look with his wingman, something both him and Mav knew all too well, the panic, fear and annoyance at the thought of their children missing. Slider or some of their friends didn’t get it yet, since not all of them were parents but they had nieces and nephews. Slider was of course one step ahead of them, saying that he already sent some of the guys to go search the blonde.
Maverick gave Ice a soft smile, “Hey. They’ll find her, if not we’re leave the meeting early and get her ourselves.”
Tom’s eyes were turning ice cold with a glare that somewhat soften at his words nodding, then entered the meeting quietly. Iceman being too quiet wasn’t a good thing for anyone, it meant his mind was racing around with throughs to rush out and resume work for another day. But had to stay focused, he knew Slider and the others were on the case. Maverick was frustrated by it all, yelling for Merlin who walked past by to see if he saw Amber, who shock his head but went searching for her…
———
The girl in question was walking around the base, passing a few short notice offices and lounges to find not many familiar faces. She was getting shyer and slightly curious as the moments went on, regardless she knew she got herself in trouble by running away. Amber eventually stumbled upon an office that brought a soft smile to her face. She gently knocked on the door, fixing her jacket and holding her plane in one hand.
It open to reveal the man who this office belong to brown mustache, deep brown eyes and tipped baseball cap staring at her. Mike MetCalf, Viper, looked down at her blinking twice at her small figure. He heard a few of his 86’ class rushing across the building yelling and shouting softly a few words, as it clicked in his head. They was looking for her.
He kneeling down in front of her, noticing the same deep look as her father, covered with blushing tears as if she was trying not to shed any. He put a hand on her shoulder, “Amber, sweetheart. What happened?”
“I..I ran away..fr-from..from Hollywood and Wolfy..” She replied with a small voice, a soft glare trying to keep her tears from falling.
“That’s wasn’t the right move and you know it. I don’t know why you did it but you weren’t supposed to that..”
“I know…”
“Come on.”
He takes her hand, leading her inside his office as he lead her to the counter against the wall near the window. He told her to stay there, as he was in middle of a conversation with an pilot at the moment. She looked up at the pilot, Viper mentioned, as she titled her head remembering the dark hair women from eariler. This time, she saw her face.
She was looking right at her.
Her rather soft features combined with rich one such as the woman’s nose and eyebrows that curled in a way as if she was analyzing the situation. There was something about this women that made Amber not know if she would be scared or shy about her, as she looked away from the brunette.
Viper noticed the looks and said, “Amber Nic Kazansky, meet Hazel Quinn. One of our pilots here, she’s been here before months ago but transferred recently to hopeful longer stay.”
This time the women—Hazel, looked at Amber with a slight difference, analysis of her state with soften concern and worry for the young girl. Hazel looked at Amber, twisting in her chair and standing up to sit beside the little girl. She noticed her glares, her last name ringed bell. Iceman. Flies ice cold, no mistakes.
She never met the man or even seen pictures but heard about him. If though he never met him, she can see the results of his child from the blonde hair to the eyes. But there was a sweetness that Hazel read to her face, a loving and gentle pace to the girl. A doll that needed to be protected. She can only imagine what made this girl run away but she might have an idea coming from a family who lend their lives to the military herself.
Hazel smiled softly, “Hi.”
“Hey..” replied Amber, looking up at the women.
“Are you okay, sweetheart?”
“Y-yeah I’m fine…how about you?”
“I’m alright but you don’t seem like your fine.”
“I’m fine..”
“…look, I guess you don’t want to tell me what happened cause we just met. But whatever it is, you should at least tell someone. They will try to understand.”
Amber stayed silent, her smoking glares still knees deep she wanted to say something like a witty comeback or a rude interception of her works but she didn’t.
Hazel contained her obvious observations and continued, “Okay I’ll humor you. I bet that you wanted to spend time together with your father or uncles but they got too busy, playing hand off with you instead? You wanted some kind of respect and attention today but didn’t get it or know to tell your guardian at the moment about it.”
That seemed to soften Amber up, as she looked over her shoulder and nodded, she left like she wasn’t exactly scared around this women but somehow understood and willing to listen. I guess what they say is true, sometimes a complete stranger can be the easiest person to talk to than anyone else closer to you? Huh? Hazel watched her, waited for her to say something as she noticed Amber tuned to face better and explain.
She told her, everything about how she wanted to spend time walking around the base and explore with her family members but she really secretly wanted was some more moments with her dad. But she understood he was busy today, since he originally wasn’t supposed to come into work at all for that matter. Amber couldn’t blame him and didn’t even bother to say anything but it sounded like she was annoyed with that fact herself. She knew Viper was listening, as she watched her in a way he looked at his own children and godson.
Hazel wanted to give this little lady a hug because she knew that feeling all too well herself, wanting to spend time with her parents but they were busy sometimes with military assistance. But she could tell from how Amber spoke of her father, she loved him very much and wasn’t even mad at his efforts, as if she knew she will get her attention soon enough.
————
And she was right. Because less than a half a second later, you could 8 rushing footsteps and yelling of 4 men, possibly even 5 at Viper’s doorstep.
“Amber!” Yelled the voice. As the girls turned around to see Tom Kazansky—no, Iceman, standing there with his hand on the doorknob with a mix of anger, worry and deep questions laced across his face. He continued, “Sweetheart what were—”
“I’mma stop you right there, flyboy.” Said the only female voice in the room, being Hazel, who stood up from the couch facing Iceman with a hand hovering his chest to pause him.
It was as if the room fell silent for a millisecond.
This brunette just stop Tom Kazansky in his tracks. The Iceman. Hollywood and Wolfman were just outside the door, as you only heard a small sniff or murmured noise coming from there. Wolfman blinked confused then recognize the voice, knowing who she was.
She was like a female Maverick but with a strong levelheaded voice, dark humor and a wildly competitive side to boot.
Princess Leia but in aviator form in simpler words.
Slider cough slightly, standing there awkwardly entering the room to check up on Amber’s current state that matched his own. They were both staring at Daredevil and Iceman, who just locked eye on another.
Tom’s ice cold glares that tend to be laced with deep fried anger watching all the angles in the room, locked eyes with the brunette. She was breathtaking. Stunning in every way possible due to the way she challenged him at the moment.
From her short brown hair with feather bangs that almost fell over eyesight that she didn’t even bother to fix. Rich blue eyes. Craved out cheekbones that enchanted her beauty. Along with the nude, almost red lip that she carried added to her frame.
It took a moment for Ice to contain his combating composure and focus on the task at hand. But dear god was this women gorgeous in his eyes!
Tom cleared his throat, scoffed with a slight chuckled and said, “I’m sorry, who might you be?”
She crossed her arms, with a light smile pointed across her face with a stance and replied, “Hazel ‘Daredevil’ Quinn. One of your new Lieutenant Commanders, sir. I’m assuming that she’s your daughter?”
“Yeah, ma’am, she is. I apologize if she intercepted your and Viper’s conversation earlier. She almost gave me a scare..”
She scoffed, “Some father. Shouldn’t you have been looking after her? Look, she told me what happened and how she felt. I don’t blame you for anything but maybe take a few minutes to listen to her next time.”
He raised a eyebrow, “Look, I would’ve been keeping an eye on her but I unfortunately got caught up with work, so I entrusted her with my friends and she got away from them. I messed up and so did they, i take full accountability for what happened today. None of this was supposed to happen but I’m more worried about her right now.”
Hazel took one a look over her shoulder at Amber, as Tom followed her gaze with a sigh already telling by his daughter eyes that she was a bit down in the dumps. He kneeled down in front of her, put a gentle hand on her cheek meeting her baby blues and asking her tell him what happened in a calmer tone this time. Hazel sat beside her, listening to what she told her.
Tom sighed lowering his head as he listened to his daughter’s words and shook his head, not catching on the small signs that she wasn’t enjoying her day, he apologized greatly for it. His first job was father, pilot second. He knew that, it’s why he tried to keep his private life separate from this base but here he was in Viper’s office listening to his baby girl thoughts.
Sometimes he forgets what’s it like to be a child and feel unheard or not wanting to bother adults with your own business.
Amber pushed back her bangs and lowered her eyes, before looking up at her father and said, “…I’m sorry, daddy..i know I shouldn’t have ran away but i wanted to see the base with you..but everyone was busy or talking with other people…it felt like Hollywood forgot about me..”
“Honey, why didn’t you come back to my office or at least, find your uncle Mav to tell us how you were feeling?” Tom asked, with a soft tone that sounded almost like a whisper, nothing like the pilot people are used to hearing.
“You were handling a lot of paperwork and i heard Jester call your name..and I didn’t like it..and uh, you were about to go into a meeting. I didn’t want to interrupt you..”
“And you through because i was about to head to a meeting to bail out your uncle Mav, I wasn’t gonna have time to talk with you? Baby, as busy or annoyed as i can get, i will always make time for you. I’m sorry you thought running around base was the best option…oh..all you wanted was a little bit of attention, didn’t you?”
She just nodded at that. She must’ve sounded selfish or brash, wanting some attention than it seemed like she already had. Hell, due to her lack of communication she had 5 men searching for her.
“Amber, honey, you’re still so young and you won’t get it now but when you’re older you will. I didn’t want to stuck in my office all day, it wasn’t even my intention to make you feel that way either. If it was up to me, i would’ve been taking you flying or have you see a new selection of planes we have gotten this month but my schedule said otherwise. When you’re old enough you will understand what i mean. I should’ve went with you and gave you my full attention instead of having you hang out with your uncle Slider.”
Slider intercepted with a light mocking gasp, “Hey! I was a nice babysitter.”
“You lost her, you idiot.” Tom commented.
“Blame Hollywood and Wolfe for that last part.”
“Yeah, sure, buddy. We will.”
Wolfman and Hollywood scoffed hearing that part but nodded, since they did take a part in losing the young blonde. The duo walked in apologizing for their mistakes, as Wolf even ruffled Amber’s hair in efforts to make her crack a smile. And to his efforts, it worked.
Hazel leaned backwards in her sat and whisper softly to the young blonde, “Well now you got all the guys fondling over you, sweetie. Feel a little better?”
Amber nodded and wrapped her arms around Tom’s neck as he picked her up, embracing his little angels warmth not wanting to let her go. He humming softly asking, “Angel eyes?”
“Hm?” Amber responded, rubbing her eyes and rested her head on his shoulder.
“Can you forgive me?”
“Well, daddy, can you forgive me?”
He chuckled nodding, “Yeah I can. I’m still a bit mad that you ran instead of coming to me first but yeah, of course I forgive you.”
She smiled at that, “I forgive you daddy..how much longer do you have to go your meeting?”
“I cut my meeting with Cain short because I had to go searching for you. But I have another one in two hours, after that I’m all yours.”
“Are you in trouble?”
“Stinger understood but Jester was a little annoyed, but I think I got off the hook. And I think you need to apologize for giving Maverick and the rest of the boys a scare too, baby.”
She nodded hearing the last part, knowing she needed to do that at some point. Tom put her down on the floor, thanking Viper for keeping her in his office for the time being as the older man told him he didn’t mind it one bit. Slider was already walking walking the boys out of the office, leaving the father daughter duo and a certain someone left. Hazel was running her fingers crossed her hair, with a soft smile leading against the couch hearing them talk softly to another one prideful she was able to help.
However just as she about to continue her conversation with Mike, the two blondes turned to her. Amber thanked her firsthand, hoping to see her around more often if she gets a chance to visit the base once again and went to stand in the doorway waiting for her father.
As she stood in the doorframe of Viper’s office, she noticed something on both adults faces. Mainly because the fog cleared now for her. She would’ve giggled and cleared her throat but she was more than curious to see where this goes. Mike was standing beside her, giving the girl a small wink as he looked over his shoulder to see Maverick coming their way.
Tom cleared his throat and grinned, “Uh, thank you back there.”
“For what?” Hazel asked, with a sly smile.
“Knocking some sense into me. I wasn’t thinking straight at all, usually I’m more grounded than this.”
“So I heard. I heard of your reputation, but I never expected the whole father thing.”
“Yeah well, it’s something I don’t expect everyone to know. I have my reasons to keep my private life separated from my aviation one.”
“I get it.”
“Yeah?”
“I do. With a darling girl like that, I can see why you want to keep her safe. She’s a good girl, you got lucky.”
“I think so too. And she seems to have taken a liking to you.”
“I guess so. Uh, I’ll see you around, Iceman?”
“Most certainly, Daredevil.”
Amber rolled her eyes at her father not being as smooth as he would be and chuckled, “Ask for her number, daddy.”
All adults laughed at her comments and rolled their eyes, seeing how forwarded she was being today. To be fair, after the world-wind of a day Tom had his head wasn’t screwed on straight, so missed a stepped at being a flirt with his fellow pilots.
He gave his daughter a pointed look and chuckled, “I was just getting to that, sweetheart.” He continued looking at the brunette with his signature smile and added, “Can I have your number, beautiful?”
Hazel chuckled doubling over with a hand on her chest, still taking in the young girl’s forwardness as if it was the most obvious answer. It took her a moment before she replied with a darling smile, biting her bottom lip, “Yes. Yes you may.”
Without a second later, Hazel ripped a piece a index card from Viper’s desk and wrote down her number, handing it to Tom who grinned thanking her. The two talked for another half minute about whatever nonsense that came to mind, with a mention of a date next Friday if they’re both available and then some. Viper chuckled clearing his throat, as much as he loved seeing two pilots creating a connection, he knew time is money and he had meetings to get to today.
Both the blonde and brunette nodding grinning as Ice took his daughter’s hand and once again thanked Viper, allowing him to return to his previous meetings Daredevil earlier. Hazel waved at the two blondes and took a seat once again where she sat originally.
———
As one could imagine, the rest of the day went as follows, Ice went to his final meeting of the day with Amber this time right beside him. She didn’t mind it all, rather enjoyed being in the room with all the high ranking people and the view of the office in general. Maverick intercepted the meeting to check up on his niece and wingman, glad to see two of favorite people in the building alright and well. Stinger glared at the short pilot twice and pointed for him to exit the door as soon as possible.
Once it over, the father daughter packed it up leaving the offices and headed to the tarmac to watch the planes in the air. Since he always carried an extra pair of sunglasses, he slipped the another one in her hand as she gladly put them on.
Tom scooped up Amber, pointing out the fliers pulling the moves then landing from the safe zone. There were moments of comfortable silence between the two of them and others of them suggesting what else they should do that day.
“How about McDonald’s?” Amber asked, as her father placed her once again on the ground.
He thought for a moment, considering the opinions of today’s action and shook his head, “Sorry, angel eyes. Not today, maybe some other time.”
“It’s okay. I understand..I’m sorry again daddy for running off.”
“I know you are sweetie and I just hope next time you know not to do something like that again.”
“Yes daddy. So no McDonald’s?”
“Nope. We have food at home, but we can past McDonald’s on the drive.”
Tom smirked watching her face, as her mouth opened for a moment then shut pouting. Seeing that it would furrow her brown and having her nose snitch up at that rather rude idea. He knew it was a little mean act, but it was something his grandfather did to him as a small punishment and to see if the fast food restaurant was really worth it.
After a moment, her face returned back to normal as she let out a dramatic sigh and nodded knowing it was somewhat fair trick to play on her. She even let out a smile, following her father out away from the tarmac and into the parking lot.
The drive home was pretty okay, since the music that played on the radio allowed for a gentle sound to release whatever negative thoughts and feelings from across the day, as they went out the window. And yes, they did past by McDonald’s on their way home.
Once they got home, both ate something and showered early, that’s when Tom had the actual talk he said he was going to do earlier that day. Not to get into any heavy detail, it a long 20 minutes of Tom’s eyes almost shifting to his Iceman persona every few minutes at how his emotions sorta bottled up in him while scolding Amber.
He didn’t scream or yell, keeping his voice neutral the whole time.
Telling how that what she did was very reckless, irresponsible, that it a worrisome situation on his part and she literally made a down right stupid decision. Saying something worse could’ve happened if she wasn’t careful. He gave his two sense on the matter and explained to her all the possibilities of what might’ve went wrong today. Things she could’ve done instead and so forth.
Amber tear up hearing her father and just nodded listening to him. He said that he understood why she did it, she felt annoyed and unheard. Plus, she’s a kid, so she doesn’t know any better than to just run away from the issue and stay in her thoughts. However he does say that he felt good that she realized what she did wrong and went back to find an adult.
Yes, he rather it was him but he really liked the fact that she at least went to Viper’s office. Because it was a trusted friend and honorary member of the family.
Due to Tom sitting on the couch with her as he talked, he rubbed her shoulder and handed her a tissue to wipe away those tears that rolled down her cheeks. Apologizing as well for his decisions and own actions today, knowing he messed up on his part since he should’ve stayed with her the whole entire time, instead of leaving her with Slider and the older pilots.
That he should’ve read the signs and taken time to give her his full attention or something. Amber didn’t blame him, as she given her moments to speak her mind as well onto her own feelings. She promised to not try to run away again and go to him if she feels some certain way. She asked if it possible to go flying like old times and he replied that one day they can. Telling her how he will definitely try his best to make time for her, listen to her own thoughts better and keep himself as in the loop as possible.
He gave her a squeeze and a kiss on her cheek, as the two stayed there just talking about punishments, the rules for the rest of the week and exceptions to be set soon. She leaned into his touch and nodded hearing him talking, to be honest even though he was telling her no tv for a week and among other things, his voice was rather relaxing. Hushing her worries about a few things as she softly smile.
Overall the afternoon went well, a few shed tears and a couple of moments just to hear the other person out was exactly what was needed.

Persuasion at it’s... Finest?
Pairing: Tom “Iceman” Kazansky x Pilot!reader Characters: Pilot!reader, Tom “Iceman” Kazansky, Nick “Goose” Bradshaw, Bradley Bradshaw
Briefly mentioned: Carole Bradshaw, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell Warnings: Nick being traumatized, friends with benefits situation, Bradley doing all that he can to fight the monsters in his room, did I imagine Nick calling reader at 2am... yes, Tom doesn’t care if Nick knows, not gonna lie... Toms told Ron about the reader, and he approves (not just cause, it pisses mother Goose and Mav off), Carole is a trooper for enduring this chaotic mess, P.S. Carole loves the reader Word Count: 619
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You grunt at the sound of your ring tone. ‘Maybe it’s a dream.’ Your phone is tossed beside you.
“Phone.”
You roll your eyes even though they’re still closed and blindly reach for the phone, not prepared for the brightness of the phone even as you thought about it to mentally prepare yourself.
You close your eyes, setting your phone on the mattress. “Let’s try this again,” you mumble, slowly opening your eyes to peek at the, still, bright screen.
“What the hell?!” You answer the call, wondering why the hell your damn cousin is calling you now when he knows you’re gonna met up with him and Pete later today after your done with work.
“Why are you disturbing my slumber, asswipe?”
He ignores your crankiness and gets right into what he called you for. “Do you know how to make anti-monster spray? Brad doesn’t believe I know how to make it?”
“You’ve got to be f-”
“Speaker.”
You know he’s pulled away from the phone to tell the young boy to say hi, which he does and dammit- it warms your heart. “Hi, Bradley. Why don’t you think your dad knows how to make the monster spray?”
“He didn’t do it like you.”
“That’s because he’s trying to distract you with jokes, so you forget what he’s making. It’s a- a clever way to throw the monsters off his trail.”
“Really?” He asks, like he doesn’t believe you.
“Yep. Now, that you know how your dad can make the special spray and let him work his magic, can I hangup and you two cleanse the whole house?”
“But I,” he yawns. “Like talking to you.”
You smile, knowing how hard he’s fighting to stay awake. “I know, Brad but you gotta let Nick do his thing so you can get all the sleep you need in order to help your mom out with some things.”
“Okay. We’ll see you soon, right?”
“Of course. I’ll try to make it over earlier than I said so I can scare your dad.”
“I heard that.”
“Good.” You can hear rusting, slowly figuring out that Nick is getting the phone away from Bradley.
“Hey,” he whispers. “Sorry about that. I know you were sleeping but-”
“He has your genes.”
He chuckles, “exactly.”
“If I don’t make it on time, I’m blaming you and we all know how much Viper likes me. Some might say I’m his favorite.”
“No one says that.”
“That’s because they know to keep their mouths shut.”
“See they do talk about how you’re his favorite, then I don’t believe you.”
“You’re annoying.”
“Oh! I’m annoying.”
“Yeah,” you say, without missing a beat.
“You’re one to talk.”
His hand brushes against your low back as he reaches for you. “Are you done yet? He wraps his arm around your waist, pulling you closer to him.
“Who is that?” Nick asks after Carole takes Bradley so he can be put to bed (making sure to take the spray with her). “Is that- was that ICEMAN!? What is he doing in your-”
You hang up on him and quickly turn your phone off soon after.
“He’s not gonna stop calling,” Tom points out, mumbling into your pillow.
“I know but I can hold him off for right now.”
“As long as we get to sleep longer, I’m fine with that.” He burrows his head deeper into the pillow.
You shake your head. “You’re getting up when I do, buddy.”
“No.”
“Yes, you are. We both have to be there early.”
“Anyway, I can persuade you into a different activity, other than sleeping?”
“Nice try.” You pat his cheek and lay back down, pulling your sheets and comforter over your shoulder.

Day 25 ~ Reading In Bed
Iceman is sick and he wants his boyfriend to read to him to feel a bit better.
“Come one Ice you have to stay in bed.” You pleaded with your sniffling boyfriend as he stood up to follow you. “But you are so warm. You are taking away all my heat if you are going. So where you go I will follow.” He grumbled out as he sniffled shuffling closer to you. Laying his head on your broad chest he let out a content sigh wrapping his arms around your middle.
“If I get sick I am going to smack you.” You started saying but could not bring yourself to say anything further as you looked down onto his face. Sickly yet adorably cute. “I just wanted to get you medicine. You could have cuddled the blankets for a bit you know that right.” You whispered into his ear but he just shook his head. “No only you. I don’t like the blankets touching me.” He whined out the me for a second too long. “Okay come on mister Ice.” You started pulling him back towards your bedroom. “For such a great pilot you really are a baby when you are sick.” You mumbled and he just whined that he is not a baby causing you to giggle.
Once you are settled into bed again he cuddled into you immediately. “I want you to read me something please.” He pleaded with a tired sigh. “It would make me feel ten times better because you know I love it when you read to me.” He concluded and you just nod. “Sure thing babe.” You looked to your bedside table and picked up the book that you are currently reading. ‘Hopefully he doesn’t mind a good romance novel.’ You though open the book by chapter 4 where you last stopped reading.
As you continued to read you felt Tom’s head get heavy and his eyes started fluttering close trying to fight off the sleep that was taking him over. Reading for about five minutes more you decided it was enough and you moved down the bed to lay down after putting your book back on the table and Tom immediately cuddled further into your chest whispering to himself that this right here is how he is content.
“I love you mister Kazansky.” You muttered kissing his forehead with a tired giggle escaping him “I love you mister Y/L/N.” he whispered and about a minute or two later he is finally out cold. Quietly getting up you went to the kitchen to get a glass of water and his medicine for when he is awake. As you poured water into his cup you felt arms wrapped around your waist. “Now what did I tell you about being out of bed.” You teased and he smiled softly into your neck.
“And what did I tell you about being my personal heater.” He mumbled back and you just laughed. “Well you are never going to get better if you keep getting out of bed mister Kazansky.” “Yeah, yeah whatever come back to bed it is very lonely without you there. And I am freezing my ass off without you there.” He said pulling you towards the bedroom. “Okay fine but you have to take your medicine first so that you can start feeling better.” You said pointing at the glass of water and the cold medicine.
“Fine dad.” He grumbled but thankfully he complied. “Hey that is daddy or sir for you.” You teased the sick man with a smirk and he just laughed but was cut off by a coughing fit. “And that is why you should stay in bed.” You rubbed his back to sooth his coughing. “Come on let’s get back into bed and you can have your personal heater back.” You smiled pulling the blond back to bed.

Home sweet home ~ T.I.K
Masterlist
Blurb: After completing the mission, Iceman returns home to his Girlfriend (Y/N) Mitchell; the sister of Pete “Maverick” Mitchell. All her nerves evaporate as she looks into his blue eyes.
Warnings: none, just pure fluff.
[(Y/n) - Your name] [(y/h/c) - your hair colour] [(y/e/c) - your eye colour]
Tom “Iceman” Kazanksky x Fem!Reader. Will include Pete being Pete. Romantic and sibling interactions. She/her pronouns used. vague mention of a small age gap (6 years). Pet names “Angel” and “Babe” used. Short but sweet
Sitting in the living room, knees tucked under your chin, ‘Great balls of fire’ playing at a medium volume and staring absentmindedly out the window. The waves of the beach sparkled through your window, but it didn’t help your nerves. The blue water reminded you of your Boyfriend’s eyes, which you were scared that you would never get to see again. You knew that being the partner of a Navy Pilot came with its up and downs, but you always felt the same mix of hope and dread when your Boyfriend would go on missions. It also didn’t help that your older brother was also in the same profession. So not knowing if you would possibly loose either one, or both of them made your breathing shake and throat dry.
You got up with a sigh and went into your shared bedroom, getting one of his white dress shirts from the wardrobe and put it on like a cardigan. You brought a sleeve to your nose and inhaled the smell of his cologne, letting your mussels relax at last. “I need to take my mind off this for a while” you spoke your thoughts out loud while grabbing your bag and keys. So with the house locked, you made your way to your motorbike. Hopping on and the engine roaring to life.
You had no destination in mind, letting the bike lead the way. Your hair blowing in the wind, the cool breeze stroking your cheeks and the smell of the salty sea in the air brought you peace. Turning left, the bike led you up to a cliff on the nearest mountain. The gravel and soil crinkled and crunched unter the tires, finally getting to the cliff. Parking it in the shade, you walked to the edge. Sitting down with your feet dangling while taking in the view. You felt a tickle on your thigh and looked down in curiosity. Sitting on your thigh, was a green gecko which gazed its small eyes on you. You smiled, being fond of all animals leading you to stroke it’s back. The small reptile seemed content by the action, so it cutely rested its head and drifted off to sleep. Your smile grew, knowing that the little guy trusted you enough to sleep on you made you feel warm inside.
Letting time drift by as you took in the view while caring for the reptile, you realise that your Boyfriend and your brother could be home any minute. Carefully putting the creature onto the warm rock, you got up and rushed to your bike. You carefully but quickly made your way home, with your heart beating hard in your chest. You and your brother weren’t raised religious, but you were praying to God that they were both safe. As you approach the drive way, you don’t see either of their vehicles which made your nerves and adrenaline increase. You parked in your spot and got inside, as you wanted them to come home to a snack and a beer. You set out 2 large bags of Doritos and a six-pack of bottled beer.
You cleaned the non-existent dust off your hands and mumbled “Perfect” under your breath.
-
Ice and Maverick made their way off the boat, bags in hand. Their bodies in fresh, clean civilian clothes. They chatted to one another while they got to their vehicles. “When are you going to get a car Mav? God, you and (Y/n) are so alike it’s insane” Ice through his bag into his trunk. The brunette chuckled and answered like the smartass he is “when pigs fly!”, coaxing a laugh from the Pilot. Getting into/onto their vehicles, they drove to the Kazansky-Mitchell household. They both felt extremely excited to see you, as they had both expressed how much they missed you and hoped you were ok without them. Being gone for up to 6 months obviously would’ve had its ups and downs, so they didn’t want to waste another minute of letting you be without them.
They pull up into the driveway and park in their respective spots, getting out/off with haste to the front door. Ice got his keys out and unlocked the door, his key chain of an ice cube that you had gotten him for his birthday hitting the wood of the front door. Pushing the door open, the sound of fast paced walking was heard. All Ice saw was (y/h/c) and all he felt was arms going around his neck. He didn’t need processing time as his arms rushed to be around you, his head resting on your shoulder and a smile on his face. Light and muffled sobs were heard coming from you as you were officially not boyfriend-and-brother-less.
“Hey Angel, it’s ok. I’m here, I’m here” Ice ran his hands up and down your back to sooth you, which was muscle memory. “Babe, please look at me” he pushed you back a bit, wanting to look into your gorgeous (y/e/c) eyes. Your teary eyes looked up at his and everything you had been worrying about, evaporated. Your face lit up and you let out a sigh. As ice wiped any remaining tears from your face, the moment was interrupted by your brother feeling ‘left out’.
“Wow, this is a lovely wall! I’ve never seen anything like it! I just love how-” you both look at him as he stands with his hands on his hips, looking at the wall. You both laugh and roll your eyes, you went to Maverick’s side and slapped his shoulder. “-Ok, you can shut up now!” You silenced him and pulled him into a hug. He hugged you tightly, putting a hand on the back of your head. “You’re 6 years older than me and yet I question who really is the oldest here” you let go of him and it’s his turn to slap you, he chuckles. “I missed you too”
After you all settled down and you helped Ice bring in his bags. You all sat on the couch with the snacks and beer, making up for lost time. You laughed together, listened to each others stories of the past months and it felt like they never left.
“Alright guys, I’ll be back for dinner. I’ve just got a meeting with Viper about my Instructor position” Pete stood up and kissed the top of your head and shook Tom’s hand.
Once he was out the door Tom wasted no time in kissing you. His hand reached up and cupped your cheek, which you instantly melted into. Tom picked you up and placed you on his lap, hugging you close. He kissed your cheek, while his fingers played with your hair.
“Home sweet home” Tom’s lips stretched into a soft smile at the cheesy saying. You smiled back at him, mapping his face with your eyes. You still felt like you were dreaming, which is understandable given the length of time you were separated.
You placed your lips to his forehead and then to his lips, pecking them. “I love you Angel” Tom declared. Your smile grew and you didn’t hesitate to reply.
“I love you more Ice cube”

Soothing Touch
Requested: yes
Summary: When Ice returns from a long day at work, you’re there to help melt all his stress away.
Word count: 0.6k
Warnings: none
Pairings: Tom ‘Iceman’ Kazansky x fem!reader
A long, drawn-out sigh escaped Ice as he stepped into your shared home. Maverick was such a pain in the ass. The entire day had been filled with Ice and Slider having to deal with Maverick and Goose’s shenanigans. Those two were little devils; Ice was convinced. Now, all he needed was to spend the evening curled up with the love of his life.
You head the front door close softly. What shocked you was that you didn’t hear anything from your boyfriend. Usually, he would call out to you, a newfound happiness in his voice now that he got to come home to you. Today, however, Tom never spoke a word as he stepped into your home. “Honey?” You called softly as you stepped out of the kitchen.
After a few seconds, you found him stepping out of the front entry, shoulders sagging and a soft frown on his face. The sight made your heart clench. “Tommy?” His head snapped up, eyes tired as he offered you a smile. You gave him a sympathetic smile in return, opening your arms wide as he walked toward you.
He collapsed into your arms, making you grunt slightly as you adjusted to support his weight. “Wanna talk about it?” You whispered into his shoulder as your hand ran up and down his back softly. He only shook his head. You could have guessed what was bothering him. It had been the same thing for the past week and a half. Maverick.
Wordlessly, you lead him to the couch. You sat down before pulling him on top of you. Your boyfriend barely put up a fight as he rested his head on your chest. His long body filled the entire couch, so much so that his legs hung over the edge slightly. His arms wound around your waist as he tucked his head into your neck.
You could feel his eyelashes flutter against the soft skin of your neck as he closed his eyes. The stress of the day rolled off him in waves as your hand moved p and down his back. “Is there anything else I can do for you, Tommy?” You whisper softly into his ear.
A beat of silence passed as your fingers drew delicate patterns over his shirt. He sucked in a soft breath, contemplating his response. But you soon realized that Ice wasn’t going to say anything. The pilot simply grabbed your hand and placed it on the top of his head, wordlessly communicating what he wanted.
There was a soft smile on your face as you began carding your fingers through his hair. For as perfectly styled as it was, there was a surprisingly little amount of gel. Your fingers moved slowly and gently through your boyfriend's hair, fingertips gently scratching at his scalp.
You could feel him melt into you at your soft touch. The feeling of your fingertips running across his scalp had him nearly moaning at the sensation.
This was how you remained for the next twenty minutes Eventually, Tom's breathing evened out and he was snoring softly. You smiled softly at the sound. After such a long day, you were glad that you were able to help him relax. Plus, you would never turn down an opportunity to play with your boyfriend’s hair.
Your fingers kept moving carefully through his hair, your other hand holding the back of his neck as he slept soundly. By now, you were simply running your hand gently across the top of his head, almost as if you were petting his head.
Your hand eventually slowed until it was just resting on his head. As your eyes slipped shut, you could feel his arms tighten around you and nuzzle further into your chest. Your thumb stroked softly over the back of his neck as you allowed sleep to finally pull you under.

Chapter 3: Behind the Door
Pairing: Tom "Iceman" Kazansky x F!Reader x Ron "Slider" Kerner Summary: Interrupting Iceman. Word Count: 4100 Warnings: Smut, bets and wagers, semi-public sex, fingering Chapter: 3/4 Minors DNI Previous Chapter
Slider's head whips around, shoulders drawn tight toward his ears as the crash of the door startles you both.
"Kerner!"
The split-second of terror subsides with that voice.
Ice.
Slider grunts, stubbornly diving back between your thighs. A man on a mission.
"I know you're up here, and I'm giving you to the count of three."
"No," you whimper, hips rocking against Slider's fingers, urging them to work faster. "Don't stop."
"One."
Instead of responding, Slider's breath ghosts over your clit as he presses two fingers into your cunt, curling them to pinpoint your sweet spot and hurtle you toward the edge.
The click of Ice's shoes is loud as he stalks toward you. "Two."
"So good," Slider hums against your slick skin. You squeeze your eyes closed, keening at the praise. "Almost there, baby."
Sli hisses as fingers fist in his short hair and yank him from between your legs.
"Three."
You whimper at the sudden loss of stimulation and the pour of cool night air over heated skin.
Slider has the audacity to flash Ice a smug smile. "Oh," he says as if he hadn't known the two of you were no longer alone. "Hey, Ice."
Pale eyes narrow as if asking Slider if that's the game they're going to play, then Ice pulls a tissue from his pocket and holds it to his RIO. "You've got lipstick on your face."
Slider's tongue peeks out to lick his lips. "That's not the only thing on my face."
Ice doesn't dignify him with a response, only releasing Slider when he stands and steps back to give you enough space for Ice to resettle you—steadying you on your own two feet and smoothing wrinkled velvet before procuring another tissue to help clean up the rouge smudged beyond the bounds of your lips.
Once you're deemed presentable, Ice descends the steps with his hand wrapped around your wrist, guiding you with an insistent tug that makes you feel more like an insolent child than his date. You want to stamp your feet as Ice assures you that he only needs to talk to a couple more officers he wants to speak with before you can get out of there.
Between the forced separation through staggered travel to D.C. and the night's two encounters—both of which had taken you to the very edge before leaving you high and dry—you're at your limit. So, to say you aren't paying attention to the conversation is an understatement. How are you supposed to pay attention to anything when you're oscillating between the jitters of unsated arousal and lightly filtered frustration?
Because who the hell does he think he is—do they think they are—to draw you into their little macho pissing contest? It's a wonder Iceman and Slider can both fit into the cockpit with their egos so blown out of proportion.
What should it matter in the end? They know you're going home with both of them.
Not that you get to say any of this. Instead, you're left to stew with empty eyes, a pinched smile, and a clenched fist at Ice's side as he makes a good impression on a commander. You're scraping the barrel with each half-hearted laugh at the officer's dull jokes, the Brut in your glass swirling between your fingers untouched. Each shift of your legs brings you closer to angry tears as the spit between them turns tacky, the microabrasions from Slider's stubble smarts reminding you of your lack of undergarment and the dissatisfied, borderline painful feeling of emptiness.
But it'll be a cold day in hell before you let any tears fall. You have your own pride to manage, and besides, no one wants to mingle with the serviceman whose date's eyes burn a tear-stung red.
"How much longer?" you ask Ice once the commander leaves.
Ice gives you an assessing look, eyebrows pulled down, and his head lightly tilted. You can't tell if he feels bad about what he's putting you through or is confused by your shortness of tone. "Impatient?"
You scoff, barely repressing the urge to cross your arms. Instead, you take a sip of your Brut, nose wrinkling as it bursts bitter across your tongue. "Whatever," you huff, done with the conversation and resigning yourself to more of the same. Ice had said there were "a couple" officers he wanted to talk with, after all.
Ice draws a deep breath in through his nose; lips pursed as he looks up to the ceiling. You know he's looking for the right words. You're still determining what those words would be. You know for a fact he won't find them painted on the ceiling.
Lucky for you—because you're not done being upset with him yet—Ice can't pinpoint what he's looking for before you're interrupted.
"Woah!" a familiar blonde excuses, bumbling into Ice and nearly spilling his beer on matching whites. "Sorry about that, still got my sea le– oh! Ice, hey!" Excuse dropped as a beamish grin overtakes Wolfman's face, cheeks tinged pink with drink.
"Wolf," you giggle as Wolf pulls you into a better mood with a friendly hug. It's hard to be all doom and gloom when Wolf's involved; he's a veritable ray of sunshine. "Where's 'Wood?"
"Pfft," he snorts. "Where's anyone? I mean, 'Wood's somewhere with his girl, but one minute I'm with Sli and Chip, the next Sli's gone and Chip's found himself a pretty little thing to dance with." He shrugs, not looking too plussed about his situation.
"I'll dance with you, Wolfie," you jump to offer. "Ice is being boring anyway."
Ice frowns. Wolf laughs. "Who am I to say no to a lady?" he asks, pulling you into an off-kilter twirl. "Don't worry, Ice, she's in good hands!" he calls over his shoulder as you practically drag him toward the dancefloor.
What Wolfman lacks in prowess, he makes up for in enthusiasm. By the time Hollywood and his fiancée find the two of you on the dancefloor—not a surprise since 'Wood and Wolf are practically connected at the hip—you're a little breathless from trying to keep up.
It's a good time, but you can only be so distracted, and it's only a matter of time before you begin scanning the crowd. Either you'll find Slider, or he'll find you, but you'll be damned if he doesn't finish what he started.
You know Ice has people he wants to impress and a ladder he's trying to climb, but shouldn't you be at the top of his list? With this thought at the helm, it isn't long before you spot a head of brown curls that towers above the rest. You rock onto your tiptoes to feed Wolf a lie—bathroom—and push through the crowd alone.
Except as you get closer, it becomes glaringly apparent that this tall brunet is not Slider.
You scowl at no one in particular when you come up empty-handed.
As you decide to keep searching until you find Slider—and, ultimately, relief—someone grabs you from behind.
You whirl around, ready to smack the person's hands off of you.
It's Pete.
You smack him anyway.
"Ow!" Pete yelps, more from surprise than pain. You didn't hit him that hard. "What the hell?!"
"Pete Mitchell, who do you think you are grabbing a lady–"
"You're hardly a lady."
"–from behind like that. You almost gave me a heart attack!"
Pete disarms you with a light pinch to your side that has you clamping your arms against your sides to protect against further tickling. "Where're Tweedledee and Tweedledum? Didn't think I'd catch you without one or the other."
You suppress a roll of your eyes. "Who knows."
"Sooo," Pete drawls a bit awkwardly, "does this have anything to do with the weirdness going on between the three of you?"
"Oh my god. You know," you groan, unable to stop yourself from hiding your face in your hands. How embarrassing.
"I don't know-know," Pete's quick to correct, "and I don't want to. But I know something's up."
This isn't something you're delving into with your brother. "It's nothing. Forget it."
"Doesn't seem like nothing if you're avoiding them."
"Like you're avoiding Penny's dad?" you snark back. Deflecting. "I'm surprised you decided to stick around."
"He's old. It's probably past his bedtime," Pete says confidently, a smile tugging at his lips. "The night's mine."
"Whatever will you do with this newfound freedom?" you tease.
Pete gives a half-shrug, surveying the room. "I'm sure some poor officer brought his daughter so she could meet the love of her life."
You don't bother holding in a mocking laugh. "And that's you?"
"No." Pete makes a face. "But I can be her something for the night."
"Ew," you grunt because you so do not want to get into that with your brother. "I need a drink."
A hand catches your elbow as you turn. "Going somewhere?"
You refuse to look as you shake Ice's hand off and continue walking.
"So you're going to ignore me." It's a statement.
"Don't you have other people to talk to?"
Ice reaches for your elbow again, turning you so he can meet your eyes with his own. "I want to talk to you."
"That's my cue," Pete mumbles as he slinks into the crowd, presumably to find trouble.
Neither you nor Ice move, and your stomach roils as his jaw sets, his Adam's apple bobbing. "You're mad at me."
Part of you wants to tell him off. Instead, you shake your head. "I'm not mad. I'm frustrated."
"Okay," Ice says, with a curt nod, his shoulders—which had been bunched—rolling back as he becomes more sure of himself. "I can work with that."
Something about the way he says it rankles you, and you sneer. Earlier, you'd been all aboard hanging off Ice's arm, but now you're wound tight enough to burst, and all you want to do is take a hot bath. And now that he's made you this way, you're something that needs to be dealt with.
"Let's grab some fresh air," Ice says, loud enough to settle any eavesdroppers as he leads you toward the outdoor courtyard with a gentle but commanding grasp on your elbow.
But you pass by the turn for the courtyard.
"Where are you taking me?" The smell of cigar smoke thins as you walk along less-traveled hallways.
"I'm taking care of it," he says as if it's the most obvious thing in the world and continues to drag you after him.
Venturing further from the intended party spaces, the lights dim. You doubt the venue means for you to be down here.
Instead of voicing these thoughts, you scoff. "Helpful."
Making sure you're alone, Ice pulls you down a deserted hallway. "You're frustrated. I have people to talk to," he says slowly, sparing you a glance.
You frown. There goes Ice, talking about other people. Again.
He beelines for two unassuming doors, reaching out to the first, but its handle jiggles. Catches. Locked.
"I'm taking care of it."
Before you can challenge that assertion, Ice steps to the side and grabs the handle to the second door, marked STAFF ONLY.
It clicks.
Ice pushes you inside, following close behind.
The light coming through the foot of the door isn't enough to tell you where you are. But the clinical, electric-orange antiseptic smell of cleaning supplies invading your nose, singeing the hairs, is more than enough to give it away.
When you cross your arms over your chest, something falls to the ground with a wooden clack! "By dragging me into a janitor's closet?"
"Well, you said you'd be good for me, but that didn't last long."
You reach for where the handle must be, but Ice anticipates your moodiness and moves to intercept, deflecting your hand. "But the bet was that Slider couldn't get you off." His breath fans your face as he leans in, so you tilt your head away to avoid his lips. Stubborn. Undeterred, he kisses the long line of your neck, and the ghost of soft lips has you holding back a gasp. "So I'm taking care of it."
"What if it doesn't want to be taken care of?"
Sharp teeth are a shock beneath the hinge of your jaw. "Don't be a brat."
A strangled moan trips past your lips as he catches you off guard.
You don't have to see Ice to know he's smirking. "Noted." Then his hand is cupping your breast. "So, are you going to let me take care of you or not?"
You're not proud of how quickly you crumble, but it's like a switch flips. You hope Ice is okay with the whiplash because after an entire night of teasing, you're desperate for relief. "Please," you whimper, pushing yourself further into his orbit. You want so bad it hurts.
"Don't worry, sweetheart. I've got you." Ice captures your lips in a heated kiss—nipping at your bottom lip so you hiss and open up for him. He knows what you need, and he's (apparently) going to give it to you.
Your fingers, clumsy in their haste, scramble for Ice's belt, but he brushes them aside. "This is about you. I'll get mine later," he says, tilting your head to the side so he can track wet kisses up to the spot just below your ear, electricity sparking down your spine as teeth tug at the lobe. "When I lay you out on my bed."
A high-pitched, excited moan is your answer, interrupted by Ice's fingers over your lips. "You've gotta be quiet," he purrs, voice low in your ear. "Wouldn't want anyone to hear us."
"Then kiss me." He does. And as you breathe in deep, the whole situation makes you feel like you're back in high school: shelving digging into your lower back like you're sneaking around, trading uncoordinated kisses in the janitor's closet with David Hodges until your brother finds you and rips poor David away for an ass-beating. But infinitely better.
Ice's lips are familiar. Urgent and addictive against your own as he swallows your whimper—nothing like David.
Ice pinches your fat bottom lip between his teeth before releasing it with a slick smack. You suck in a sharp breath, lashes fluttering open to look up at the shadow of him in the dark. "So pretty," he growls, fabric rustling as he hastily cuffs the sleeve of his jacket and pushes it up to his elbow to keep it safe from what he has planned.
Handfuls of velvet are bunched around your waist so you can spread your legs more freely, and Ice can slot his hand between them.
Threading your fingers through his hair, you return his lips to yours. You both groan from the kiss—you from the relief of his hands on you, the promise of a sweet release; him from how wet and needy you are (Slider's work, really, but Ice seems keen to reap the benefits).
When you break apart to gasp for air, Ice husks, "I'd get my mouth on you." And it conjures the image of Slider's wicked brown eyes looking up at you from between your legs, your cunt throbs. God, you want that. "Too bad I can't smell like pussy while I'm talking to the brass." But he allows himself the indulgence of a single taste, bringing fingers slick with your arousal to his lips.
You shake your head, unsure if his eyes have adjusted enough to see you. "Unprofessional," you agree, dizzy as his fingers plunge back into your heat. The heel of his palm grinds deliciously against your clit, his fingers working with the frantic cant of your hips as you chase a high that's walking the line of pain in its evasion of you. A steady, unignorable ache.
Ice drags his nails over the dense fabric covering your tits, your nipples pebbling at the faux cool sensation. "Tell me what you need," he whispers against your lips.
Relief is so close the air is thick with it. It tastes like Lysol. You stutter out a breath, and it morphs into a quiet whine. "Just like that," you mewl. "Keep touching me like that."
"Yeah?" Ice teases, a third finger sneaking into you and zeroing in on your sweet spot, thumb coming up to rub circles into your clit. What little light there is in the closet glints off the sharp point of his teeth as his lips part. "You're going to cum on my fingers," he declares, and your heart skips a beat when it jumps into your throat. "Then, you're going to go back to being my good, pretty girlfriend while I talk business," he presses a teasing kiss to the corner of your lips, and you can't contain a needy, lilting whine, "and no one will know you needed to cum on my fingers just to make it through the night."
"Oh god," you sob, nails digging into the starched fabric of Ice's jacket. You're right there. Liquid flames lick at your core, your tummy tied in knots and thighs jumpy as Ice speeds up his fingers, a muffled squelch each time his fingers bottom out, knuckles pressed tight to your cunt.
The two of you are so distracted that you don't hear the frantic footsteps until they're almost on top of you.
Ice jerks his fingers from you, yanking your dress back into place at the same time as he steps between you and the door to the closet, blocking you from whoever's about to fling the door open.
But it doesn't stop your eyes from meeting your brother's over his shoulder.
Pete slams the door shut.
Silence. Then: "You still dressed?"
Posture going rigid, Ice shoots the door a barbed look. "Maverick–" Pete shushes him through the door. He must be pressed up against the wood. Ice gives in but doesn't give up, continuing with a more hushed, "–what the hell?"
A pause. "That's not a no," your brother mulls. "Scoot over. I'm coming in."
"No!" You and Ice hiss simultaneously, but Pete is already squeezing himself into the closet with the two of you, pressed tight against Ice's back as he shuts the door firmly but with as much care as he gives his Kawasaki.
"Look," Pete whispers, and maybe his hands would be up in a placating manner if there were enough room, "I either hide in here with you two or hack it out there with Admiral Benjamin."
Without the distraction of each other, you and Ice hear far more measured footsteps hesitate at the far end of the hall before heading in your direction.
"I like your chances," Ice bites. "Leave."
Pete jostles all three of you as he turns to get into Ice's face as much as he can, given the confines of the closet. A shelf creaks, but nothing falls. "Well, it won't look good on you either," he whispers furiously. "Huh? Ice-cold, no mistakes, making out with your date in a closet like you're at junior pr–" Ice slaps a hand over his mouth, and the three of you fall deathly still.
The tension thickens until the footsteps pass you by.
No one dares to let out a quiet, adrenaline-shaken breath, even when the footsteps sound like they must have reached the other end of the hallway. Pete does, however, allow his shoulders to sag in relief.
Then, the footsteps pause.
They grow closer—louder—once more. This time, the muffled chaf of dress shoes on the carpet sounds like it's purposefully approaching the closet. Each step ratchets the tension up exponentially. You hold still, certain that if you shift your weight, something on the open shelving will give away your location. Ice, still shielding you from the door, brings a hand up to pet the back of your neck; the cool metal of his Academy ring—grounding any other time—sends a nervous trickle down your spine.
Benjamin is obviously after Pete, but how bad will it look that the two of you are in the closet with him?
There's a mechanical squeal of metal catching, handle turning, getting stuck. Jiggle. A grunt as he encounters the locking mechanism of the next door over.
Two shadows block the ambient light at the bottom of the door.
Well, you pinch your eyes closed. This will be embarrassing.
"Admiral Benjamin," someone calls from further away.
"Ah," the response comes uncomfortably close to your door. "Lieutenant…?"
"Kerner, sir." Slider. "I was with Lieutenant Kazansky earlier. Did you ever find Mitchell?
Two quick raps on the door. Pete flinches. "I believe I have." And Admiral Benjamin sounds smug.
The statement hangs in the air.
"In a closet, sir?" You can see the skeptical raise of Slider's brow in your mind's eye.
The shadow shifts. "I'm sure he came this way."
"Well, I just saw his RIO headed toward the taxis." A pause. "He's a slippery little shit. If he was here, he's long gone by now."
"Hm." Admiral Benjamin doesn't move, but from the sound of things, neither does Slider. "Well, Lieutenant. Really good stuff on the Enterprise."
Slider thanks him as the shadows disappear from the doorway and footsteps hurry off on a Goose chase.
When you're sure the admiral has left the vicinity—thankfully not asking Slider why he decided to stick around—Pete stumbles out of the closet with all the grace of a baby giraffe but none of the height. "Aw, Kerner," he teases with a dopey grin, "you do like me."
Slider snorts. "Don't thank me yet. The Geese are waiting for a taxi."
Pete's chin falls to his chest, and he mumbles a "goddammit" before hurrying to see if he can avoid Admiral Benjamin by sneaking through the courtyard.
"They're not the only ones," Slider tells Ice, nodding in the general direction of what remains of the Ball's attendees. "If you want to talk to anyone else, now's the time."
But as you practically tremble between them, Ice looks at you—really looks at you—and his features soften. He cups your shoulder, offering but not pulling you into his side. "I think I've networked enough for one night," he declares, tone light. His thumb rubbing back and forth, soothing.
Then those gray-blue eyes are on you, and his lips stretch into a slow, soft smile. "No one I can't talk with some other time."
"You sure?" Slider asks. Then, hushed, "I can take care of her while you finish up."
There is quite literally nothing you want less. The venue is clearly cursed, and you don't plan on sticking around long enough to find out what other ways you can get caught or edged tonight.
"The bet's off," Ice states before you can say 'no,' and your heart flutters. If Ice wasn't going to stick around for one last round of shoulder-rubbing, then winning was only a matter of getting you in a taxi.
For his part, Slider doesn't seem as shocked as you are by Ice's declaration.
Ice feathers a kiss to your temple before you can second-guess his decision. It's the most relaxed you've seen him all evening. "Let's get you a taxi."
"Wait." Slider pushes off the wall. He procures a key from his pocket and presses it into Ice's hand. "Holiday Inn. K Street. Leave in 10 minutes."
Ice fiddles with the thick plastic of the keychain but pays it no real mind.
"Don't give me that look," Slider boos.
Ice licks his lips. "You know our rooms were comped, right?" It's a perk of being summoned to the event, you're sure.
Slider takes a half step forward, the three of you the closest you've been all night. From this distance, Ice has to look up ever so slightly to meet Slider's cocky gaze. "You want to what?" he asks, voice going deep and quiet enough no one else could hear if they happened by you. "Pile into a single room at the same hotel everyone else is staying at?" He motions between the three of you. "How's that going to work?"
Some like to write Slider off as all muscle, no brain. But it's his job to see things others don't—things Ice doesn't. He knew they couldn't take you back to their fancy hotel rooms even before he came to the event tonight. The safest solution had been to shell out for a lesser room somewhere you were less likely to turn heads.
"She isn't exactly known for being quiet," Sli stresses.
Ice ponders the key for long seconds before he pockets it with a nod.
Slider smirks. "That's what I thought."

Young Val Kilmer was a menace
Fatal Attraction — Tom 'Iceman' Kazansky x Reader
Pairing: Tom ‘Iceman’ Kazansky x Female!Reader (18+)
Description: Much like every other person that came across Tom ‘Iceman’ Kazansky, you had developed quite the crush on him. What made you different, though, was that you were the niece of his direct superior. He knew it was wrong, and he knew he shouldn’t entertain the idea in the slightest, but a little teasing never killed anyone, right?
Warnings: Explicit language, insane dirty talk, semi-possessive Iceman, sexual thoughts and tension, allusions to smut, so much pining, degradation kink, Iceman not wanting to pull a Maverick, Iceman doing just that. You know the drill.
Word Count: 4,279.
A/N: Not only was this much longer than I expected, but it ended up being much dirtier. I’M SORRY, Iceman just does something to me. He does something to all of us. Val Kilmer, you will PAY FOR THIS.
Requests are still open!
Another Friday morning. How lovely.
You were currently making your way to Commander Mike Metcalf’s office, commonly known around those grounds as Viper. The skylight beaming throughout the windows of the naval building illuminated the hallway before you, further reminding you of just how tired you were.
Every single day for the entire month that you were in San Diego, your uncle would forget his lunch. In several ways, his unintentional forgetfulness reminded you very deeply of your father, further proving just why those two were best friends. Had it not been for you, the containers so articulately and thoughtfully prepared by your aunt would have remained right where she left them on the granite countertop.
The first time it happened, you figured that you would just take it to the base on your way out, seeing as you had a few light errands to run. That was all it took for that very action to become a key part of your daily routine for the entire duration of your visit. You would never complain, though. Not when you were happily occupying the guest bedroom in his very, very beautiful house.
To be quite fair, not all of it was so bad. It thrilled you to see the stunning aircrafts taking off on the runways as you stole glances out of the windows, and it was always fun to hang out in your uncle’s office. The best parts, however, were the pilots.
God, the pilots.
The naval aviators studying at Top Gun were nothing short of cocky, but it wasn’t as if they had no reason to be. They were young, they were the best at what they did, they were hot shit— they were the future of the Navy. The very world was at their fingertips, and they were well aware of that fact.
Your uncle had warned you about these men. Some of them got a bit too cocky, resulting in them crashing and burning. Sometimes metaphorically, sometimes literally, as brutal as that was. For the most part, you heeded his warnings with ease, taking the warmest comfort in knowing that his expertise on the subject had been perfected over the course of your entire lifetime. You had been flirted with by quite a few of the men, but it never seemed to have any impact on you. None of them really captured your interest, nor did they properly catch your eye.
Well— none of them except Tom ‘Iceman’ Kazansky, of course.
From the moment you laid your eyes on him, you were completely hooked. You had no idea whether it was because of his undeniably indescribable beauty, his electrifyingly powerful aura, his domineering and enigmatic attitude, his precision when flying, his irresistibly alluring charm, or his very evident intellect. All you knew was that whatever it was, it completely consumed you. It devoured you.
Never in your life had you hungered for another human being so deeply. The very sight of him set your heart ablaze, despite him acting as a walking example of everything your uncle warned you against.
In your most humble defense, you thought your uncle should consider himself lucky that you weren't madly in love with Maverick, but that was another story.
The very thought of Iceman put quite the smile on your face as you entered the vacant office, any remainder of sleep in your eyes disappearing into thin air. You inhaled sharply as a means to take a deep breath and sauntered over to his desk, absentmindedly leaving the door open behind you.
Your mind began to wander in just the few seconds it took for you to walk. What was Iceman doing? Would he be happy to see you, if he even did? How did flying go today? Did Maverick piss him off again? You didn’t even have to ask that one, you already knew what the answer was.
What went through that pretty head of his? After asking yourself the question, you realized just how much you truly wanted to know the answer to it. Even though you had only been in his presence for just a month and you had only slightly conversed with one another, you wanted to know everything there was to know about the enigmatic man. You wanted to know why he was the way he was, why he did the things that he did. Everything. You wanted to go back to where it all began, you wanted to know every minute detail that he probably hadn’t even noticed himself. You wanted to know if the cheeky little glances and the few devious smirks he’d flash you whenever you briefly spoke meant anything, or if that was just something he did to everyone.
After just a moment, a very particular voice rang through your ears like no other, your heart falling to your feet once you heard it. You hadn’t even reached the desk once it pierced your ears; the containers were still in your hand.
“There she is.”
You turned your head and there he was.
A subtly grinning Tom Kazansky, fully adorned in his flight suit. Because of how engulfed you were in your own thoughts, you didn’t even realize that training must have been over. Men had been roaming the halls outside the office for a few minutes now, much to your chagrin. That man in particular, however, noticed you the second he entered the building.
Immediately, your lips were curling into a wide grin, not even being able to fight your excitement as you giggled at just the sight of him. Trying to hold your composure as calmly as possible, you turned and set the containers on Viper’s desk, your back now facing him. “Good morning, Ice.”
Had you not missed making an appearance yesterday, you felt as though you would have been much more collected. It was the only day in the past month that you didn’t show up to drop off lunch, and the Iceman withdrawal was hitting you with the intensity of ten hammers. The thing that bothered you the most about it was the fact that he couldn’t have been thinking about you. No, of course not. While you were lying awake at the thought of not seeing Tom Kazansky for the first time in a month, you were sure that he was chatting up some blonde, sipping his ice water with his aviators on his stupidly beautiful face.
That asshole.
“I missed you yesterday.” He told you so casually, treating the words as if they were as simple as him asking you what the weather was. To him, the words were nothing more than a simple little fact, but to you, they were the warmest sentiment you had ever received. Your heart both stopped and sped up as your eyes widened, your back still turned to him.
You stopped dead in your tracks as you heard his words, something that did not go unnoticed by him. Your eyebrows were furrowed as your widened eyes stayed firmly on the surface of the desk. Your fingers were still lightly planted on the containers while you stood, not even looking over your shoulder as you spoke before you could think. “You noticed I was gone?”
Iceman was aware of your reaction the second you froze. He didn’t fight the smirk that was forming on his face, seeing as your back was still turned to him. Had you been looking at him, he wouldn’t have embarrassed you with the way his gaze was glued to your figure. Had you been looking at him, you would have seen the way his eyes were heavily clouded with lust as they were planted on you. Had you been looking at him, you would have seen the way his cheek was hollowed from the way he was biting the inside of it. Had you been looking at him, you would have seen the way he was eye-fucking you the same way you did to him whenever he had his back to you.
Within the next few seconds, though, the words that fell from his lips seemed to be what sent you over the edge. You could practically hear your heart pounding out of your chest as you felt your entire body heat up. Weirdly enough, even as hot as your skin felt, you felt goosebumps rising along your spine.
“I notice a lot of things about you.”
That was enough for you to finally let go of the container, making an attempt to face him very casually. Your body turned and you immediately cleared your throat at the sight of him, trying your hardest to disguise it as something very normal. Even under all of his aviation gear, you could see that his toned body was a bit tense. His sunglasses must have been in one of his pockets, seeing as you had a full view of his face.
“Like?” You further egged him on, mentally patting yourself on the back for it.
“Yeah, that’s right. Fall into the trap. Take the bait. Come on.” You thought to yourself as you gazed over at him, silently hoping he wouldn’t examine your face the way you were trying to examine his.
You silently hoped that he would be oblivious to your feelings about him, but even the furthest person in the building could identify the lust in your eyes. You were blinking almost every second as a means to suppress your excitement, but there was no use. His eyes were firmly fixated on yours, and you could feel your heart continue to race as a result. You wondered if he saw the look in your eyes for what it was; a mixture of lust, desire, and admiration.
For someone as cold as Iceman was, he was not an asshole. He could see the look in your eyes as clear as day, of course he could. He recognized that very look in nearly every woman that looked at him. The most notable difference, though, was that he wanted you to look at him.
To say that Tom Kazansky had quite an effect on people, typically women, was an extreme understatement. From his enchantingly full lips, to his quite muscularly toned frame, to his domineering aura, even to his precision, it was safe to say that he knew all eyes were on him when he entered a room. For the love of all that is holy, he’s Iceman.
He’d be a fool to think that he wasn’t the subject of most people’s desires, and a fool was the last thing he was.
Regardless of how he knew people gawked at him, dreamt of him, and even craved him, none of it seemed to truly capture his interest. For all that it was worth, the man was practically next to unattainable. He liked to have fun, yes, but all of his focus went to flying. It was very safe to say that people were able to catch his eye, but never his interest.
Everyone except you, that is.
From the moment you caught his eye on the first day you came, he was intrigued. The pure confusion in your eyes as you tried to navigate the corridors had him in quite a trance, which did not go unnoticed by his friends.
“Slider, who is that?” The words fell from his lips with what was almost an embarrassing amount of interest. His eyes fixated on you as if he was scared to look away.
Slider glanced over at you once he heard his friend ask the question, his eyebrows raising at the sight. There was no denying that you were a beautiful woman. From the way your precious sundress hugged your waist and flowed just to your mid-thigh, Iceman had to nudge Slider to prevent him from devouring your body with his eyes. In doing so, Slider figured that he was telling him to back off. He figured that he was claiming you, and due to the fact that Slider was very highly up Iceman’s ass, he would oblige.
Before he could answer, you met both of their gazes and took a sharp breath, assuming that they were silently laughing at you for how lost you were. You flashed a gentle smile once you saw Slider kindly nod at you as a greeting, making your way over.
“Excuse me.” Your heavenly voice filled Iceman’s ears, causing him to stand up straight. You were speaking to Slider when you went over, but once you caught a glimpse of the man beside him, your mind went completely blank. Your lips parted as you gazed up at him, blinking a few times before you forced the words out. “Do you know where I can find Mike Metcalf’s office?”
“Viper?” Iceman asked with furrowed eyebrows, knowing you must not have been from around there by the way you neglected Viper’s callsign. You rolled your eyes at your own mistake and let out a small giggle, nodding your head.
“Yes, I’m sorry. He’s my uncle, I was just dropping by because he forgot his lunch.” You sweetly told the two pilots, both of them clearly quite surprised at the revelation.
“No, no way. You’re too pretty to be related to Viper.” Slider casually remarked, earning one of the coldest glares that Iceman could conjure up. You let a small laugh out at the flattery, shaking your head slightly in response.
“He’s my dad’s best friend. I’ve just known him as my uncle my whole life.” You gently spoke, a cheeky little grin on your face as you decided to tease the taller man. “I’ll tell your commander that you said that.”
Slider’s life flashed before his eyes as Iceman let out a cool chuckle at your words, causing you to silently and subtly swoon. You glanced over at him with a warm grin, your breath hitching in your throat as you finally met his intense gaze.
“Two doors to the left, sweetheart. You were almost there.” Iceman told you in a tone that would’ve made anyone fold right then and there, the smirk on his face tying it all up. You immediately swallowed once you felt your mouth water and shifted in your stance, not being able to help the smile that was on your face.
“Thank you, um…” You began, now noticing that they hadn’t introduced themselves to you.
Slider opened his mouth to speak, but it was no use. Iceman was already politely extending his large hand, the size of it almost making you faint.
“Iceman.” He stated it in a way that you couldn’t properly identify. It wasn’t cocky, but it was definitely sure of himself. Yes, that was it. He was very sure of himself.
You shifted the container to one of your hands and used your free one to grip his, the firmness in both of your hands as you shook causing you to suppress a literal moan. Your hand was quite small and warm, as opposed to his large, cold one. Your skin was soft; his was calloused. You didn’t want to let go, but any second longer would have resulted in you just pouncing on him.
“Iceman.” You repeated in a mutter, causing his smirk to return and his attraction to replace all hints of professionalism that still remained in his expression. You took a deep breath and retracted your hand, kindly smiling at the pair of them as you snapped out of it. “Thank you both.”
Once you began to walk away, Iceman made no attempt to hide the fact that he was gazing at you. Your figure was now an image that was burned into his memory, something that came in handy in his dirtiest and most desperate moments. You truly would never know that Iceman had taken quite an interest in you long before you had taken one in him.
“Viper’s niece. There’s your answer.” Slider chirped out as an answer to his former question, looking down at his watch.
“Not biologically.” Iceman responded in a way that sounded all too familiar, causing him to furrow his own eyebrows. He didn’t even know where that came from.
“Yeah, Ice, good luck with that. See how well Commander Viper would take you being laid up with his niece, blood or not.” Slider dryly laughed out loud, shaking his head. “Don’t shit where you eat. Don’t pull a Maverick.”
The reference to Maverick relentlessly trying to get Charlie was something they all made fun of, despite not knowing that he had been successful in doing so. Immediately, Iceman’s face dropped.
Maverick. Maverick would try you. Holy FUCK, Maverick would definitely try you.
“Shut up, Slider.” Iceman seethed through his teeth lowly at the thought, taking a sharp breath. Once he put his aviators on, he only tried to disregard the thought of you. He had worked incredibly hard to get where he was, and he refused to put his lust before his work. That was the difference between him and Maverick. He was logical, and Maverick was the most impulsive person in the world.
Iceman cleared his throat as the thought of meeting you flashed throughout his mind so briefly, now meeting your gaze. You recognized the way he cleared his throat and didn’t even try to hide your smirk, as it was the way you always did when he teased you.
You made him flustered.
“Like what, Iceman?” You asked in an even softer tone than before, your head tilting to the side. You could see the lust in his eyes for the first time since you met him, trying not to let it corrupt your position of having the upper-hand.
In true Iceman fashion, however, he refused to not be the one in control.
A cold chuckle escaped his lips as he shook his head, now standing up straight. The sound of his boots hit the floor in a way that made you feel as if you were listening to a sweet tune. He slowly inched inside of the office before he used his large hand to push the door shut behind him, doing so very quietly.
“I don’t think you can handle it.” He teased you in a light tone, his voice almost intimidating you as you tried your hardest not to shift. Now, he was standing in front of you, the smirk on his face prominent as he used his tongue to wet his lips. Unbeknownst to you, he only did so to see if you would gaze at his lips during the process. Much to his satisfaction, you did.
Your lips parted as you basked in the sight, completely submitting to him in that moment. He wanted the power, and you let him mercilessly take it. Trying your best to fight against the situation, you gulped silently and said the very first words that crossed your mind.
“Try me.”
For such small and seemingly harmless words, they truly acted as the match to the sensitive gas tank that was his self-restraint. He knew that it was incredibly unwise to jeopardize his position by involving himself with you, but he could no longer control himself. From your parted lips to your doe-like eyes, he found himself unable to resist you. The privacy of the four walls in the office intoxicated him in a way alcohol would. The mere fact that he could make a complete mess out of you with no one knowing filled his head, but what prevented him from doing so was the fear of getting caught.
Fuck, you two couldn’t get caught.
For the love of God, you were in his commander’s office. To add even more danger to the situation, you were the niece of that very commander. Not only would he be severely punished if he was caught with someone there, but if he was caught with you there, Viper would just fuck him up. None of that mattered to him in the moment, though. The way you were slightly backed up to where you were standing in front of the desk was enough for him to disregard his thoughts. Gazing at the needy little look in your eyes, he decided to use the risks to his advantage.
Still standing right in front of you, he took his time in dipping his head down, your hands practically shaking as you felt his lips not even a few centimeters away from yours. You could feel his minty breath hit your lips as he parted his own, causing you to grip the edges of the desk behind you.
“How would your uncle feel if he knew this is what you did at his job, hm?” He whispered to you, his lips slightly brushing against yours as he spoke. He was that close to you.
You would be lying if you said you weren’t a bit ashamed, even though that was not his goal at all. If you weren’t as aroused as you were, you probably would have stopped whatever was transpiring between the pair of you.
“How would he feel if he knew that while he was out serving his country, you were in his office, practically begging to be fucked by one of his colleagues?” His whisper hit your lips once more, your eyebrows furrowing in desperation as your mouth slightly fell open. You wanted him, you craved him. You needed him.
The look on your face caused his large hands to find shelter on your hips, his grip making it seem as though he was holding onto you for dear life. He effortlessly lifted you off of your feet and almost roughly set you down on the desk, wasting no time in spreading your legs for him to step in between.
You didn’t even slightly resist. You were his for the taking.
“How would he feel,” he trailed, his rough fingertips running along your bare thighs before he lifted one of his hands, gently yet firmly gripping your neck with it. “If he knew that you were on his desk, begging to be fucked like the dirty little slut you are?”
You had never been spoken to that way, both sexually and non-sexually. Your heart was racing as the words traveled from your ears to your stomach, warming your body up entirely. You couldn’t even speak. All you could do was gently grip the fabric of his flight suit, which wasn’t aiding your desire for him in the slightest bit.
“He could walk in here at any time, but you don’t care.” Iceman coldly chuckled at your needy little expression, his lips still hardly away from yours. Teasing you even further, his head tilted to the opposite side that yours was tilted to, the tip of his tongue lightly running across your parted lips. You finally let a small whine out, having had quite enough of his teasing. You swatted at his chest and properly crashed your lips onto his, silently thanking every higher power for the fact that he returned your kiss.
The kiss was foul. Both of you were desperately trying to taste one another, the sounds coming from you two being enough to kill a nun. In the process of it all, he had pulled your hips closer to his, your sundress riding up as he did so. The thin fabric of your panties and his entire flight suit separated you from his bulge, but you could still definitely feel it. Before you could even begin grinding your hips the way you wanted to, he detached his lips from yours and chuckled softly, glancing down at the beautiful sight underneath him.
“All you want is for me to fuck you stupid and leave you a pathetic, needy little mess. Used like the fucking toy you are.” He seethed through his teeth in a way that sent you in a whirlwind, causing your back to arch for the man.
With the sound of rising chatter in the hallways outside of the office, both of you were brought out of your lust-driven haze, resulting in the most sexual tension you had ever been in. He let a chuckle escape his lips at the sight of you as he took a deep breath, stepping back a few times.
“I told you that you couldn’t handle it.” He teased you in a tone that made you roll your eyes, standing up from your position on the desk. You fixed your sundress and hid the way that you were smiling from him, your head turned away from him.
“Listen, a few of the guys and I are going to play volleyball after training.” He informed you with a hint of something you couldn’t quite recognize. For a second, it almost sounded like Iceman, the Iceman, was a bit nervous. “Maybe you can come with us. Hold my shirt for me, throw rocks at Maverick and Goose. You know.”
Your lips curled into the biggest smile he had ever seen, your gaze on him telling him just how long you had been waiting for him to ask you out, even if it was to do something as small as watching him play volleyball.
“Maybe, we’ll see. I’ll throw rocks at whoever’s losing.” You teased him gently, earning an amused chuckle as he opened the door. “I’ve heard that there’s just something about that Maverick. I think he has a real shot at winning.”
The dull and playful glare made your incessant teasing worthwhile, but what he said before he left was what made you giggle and squeeze your eyes shut once you were alone.
“Try telling me that again after I make a pretty, whimpering mess out of you.”

Finding Love At A Carnival
“I am so, so sorry.” You begin apologizing to the man you just scared from behind. “I thought you were my brother because he was just standing there a second ago.” You continue to explain feeling so embarrassed.
‘Oh, this night could not get anymore embarrassing than this.’ You think feeling a blush start to form on your cheeks. Not wanting to annoy the handsome man in front of you, you just decided to stay quiet. All the man could do was laugh as the blush on your cheeks spread to your whole face.
All that can be heard around you is the yelling of sugar high children and their tired parents telling them to be quiet for like 10 seconds and to stand still so that they can buy them tickets for whatever carnival game they want to play.
“Again, I am so sorry about that. Now if you will excuse me while I go drown my sorrows in fried food.” You muttered, starting to walk away only to be stopped by the blond in front of you grabbing your arm.
“Wait I’ll go with…” but he was cut off by your someone pulling you away from the good looking man. “Go away mister Ice. You have nothing here to worry about.” Maverick said glaring at him. “Pete.” You whined out pulling his arm off your shoulder and stepping away.
“Come on you just moved out here. You can spend the time with your very, very lonely brother, can’t you? Please I love you so much you cannot just leave me here to fend for myself.” He continued to whine like the child he is.
“What it some kid attacks me with their food.” he said, pulling a disgusted face. “Or what if they scare me and I have no one there to protect me.” Pete chuckled out the last part. ‘And you want your little sister to protect you jackass.’ You mused.
“Shut up.” You mumbled punching him lightly in the arm. “Let me get to know your friends.” You continue to talk to your brother laughing quietly at the mention that Iceman is no friend of his.
“We have the whole week to spend together Mav, let me go buy the man I scared some yummy food to make up for it. You can come with us if you want to.” You said looking at your older brother. “Just don’t be embarrassing.” you all but begged the grinning man already knowing what he is planning to do.
“I so did not.” You exclaimed to your brother as he was busy telling Iceman about the crush you had on your English teacher in your last year of high school. “He was just super friendly to everyone, and he was a funny teacher.” You mumbled embarrassed knowing Maverick is correct but not wanting to admit it.
“Sound to me like a crush.” Tom joked along with Pete just to see the cute look on your crimson face. “Shut up. Both of you.” You mumbled looking down at your food. “And just for that you are going to buy me all my drinks tomorrow, Pete.” You grinned up at your now quiet brother whining out that he has not been paid yet. “Yeah, well that is what you get for humiliating me you ass face.” You cackled out.
“No, no this is not happening.” Maverick exclaimed after you and Tom just let him know that you have been dating for two months. “No that is my little sister you stay away from her.” Pete all but yelled as Iceman pulled you into his side.
“Mav.” You said pulling away from Tom to stand near your brother. “We have been going out for two months you really think if he were an ass, I would still be with him. He is the sweetest man I have ever met, and he treats me so well.” You said pulling the biggest smile to ease his worrying.
Hoping it works you continue. “I really like him Mavvy. You know if I didn’t, I would have kicked him to the curb already.” You grinned from ear to ear knowing the nickname will work its magic.
“Even though we have only known each other for two months I know that I want to be with your sister for the rest of my life Maverick. I really like her.” Tom said towards Pete but smiling at you after he finished.
Maverick, starting to calm down after seeing the loving look on both your faces turned to Iceman. “Fine… but just so you know if you ever hurt her or if she ever turns up on my doorstep crying, I will not hesitate to shoot you down Kazansky. This is your first and final warning.”
“Thanks Mav.” Tom mumbled as he pulled you and Pete into a hug. “Love you bro.” you whispered into his ear as Ice pulled away from the hug. “Yeah, yeah love you to Y/N/N.” hugging for a second longer you pulled away and turned to both men. “Okay now that, that is out of the way who is ready for breakfast.”

Chapter Eighteen - Lord and Lady Bradshaw
♡♡♡
It's early the next morning and the house is alive with buzz. Carole's things had been brought over to the Kerner's as she will be departing from there. Your mother and father will not see her until the wedding. You can only hope that they won't stir trouble over this later.
Carole begs you to stay close all morning, from breakfast, to bathing, to getting ready. You stay in her sights for all of it, and only leave when it's time for you dress for the day. In which case, Mrs Kerner keeps Carole company. Once dressed and ready, you leave your room and prepare to return to your sister. Along the way you bump into Lord Kerner.
"Nervous?" He asks, a soft smile on his face. You startle slightly, as if realising that you were, in fact, nervous.
"Strange... I shouldn't be the nervous one."
"No?" He asks, giving you a questioning brow.
"No?" You ask, hesitating.
"I think you have plenty to be nervous about yourself, but all I can offer you is a not to worry. Trust me. Trust him. You will have nothing to fear."
"Are you for certain?" You ask him.
"In the end, yes."
"In the end?" You question him.
"You will see. Now , you should return to your sister. I shall see you all later." Ron bows his head and takes his leave, letting you go back to what you were doing a short moment ago. With more questions in your head after this encounter, you continue the journey back to Carole's room.
As soon as you enter the room she hurries over to you and grabs your hand. You laugh softly.
"You look beautiful," you tell her.
Carole looks down at her wedding dress. It may have been of mother's choosing, but Carole really did look stunning in it. Her cheeks are dusted pink as she brings her eyes back to you.
"Do you think he will like it?" She asks.
"I think he will love it, dear sister," you say, giving her hands a little squeeze.
Carole smiles fondly at you and then gazes at your own attire.
"Look at you!"
You suddenly find yourself becoming shy.
"It hardly compares to the bride," you remind her.
"But you look so wonderful. I'm sure the duke will be unable to look away from you all day," she giggles.
Your blush increases slightly. "That is, if he attends."
Carole grabs both your hands in hers and holds them up between you. She looks you in the eyes as she so confidently says, "I know he will."
You can't help but wonder if there has been some kind of development. Everyone seems so chipper and confidant today. What news has there been that you do not of yet? Your eyes are drawn to Mrs Kerner who is giving some instructions to her staff. There is a glint in her eyes as she briefly catches your gaze. You find yourself filled with some form of hope.
If only you could speak with the duke.
Charles, the Kerner's butler, knocks once on the door. It's the signal that the carriages have arrived and Lord Kerner would be waiting outside. Mrs Kerner dismisses the staff and you grab the bouquet from where it rested. Carole takes the beautiful bundle of flowers from you and you take her arm with yours. Mrs Kerner leads you both out of the room and you all make your way down to the carriages.
Lord Kerner helps his wife into her carriage, and then he comes over to where you and Carole stand, now joined by Bob who looks very smart in his suit. Bob opens the door to the carriage and smiles at you both. Lord Kerner holds out his hand with a smile and Carole smiles in return as she takes his hand. He helps her inside and you all wait until she is comfortable before you climb in after her, with Lord Kerner's help.
Lord Kerner returns to his wife and Bob climbs in after you, closing the door behind him. It was time to leave the safety of the Kerner's home and enter the next chapter. Carole grabs your hand and squeezes it tightly, looking at you. You try to read the expression on her face, but you can't quite work out what she is trying to tell you.
As the carriage sets off in motion, someone finally speaks.
"Whatever happens, I will always have you, won't I?" Carole asks.
You turn to her with slight shock on your face.
"Of course you will. Always."
She smiles softly.
Bob looks at his sisters with a small smile, but a heavy heart. You had no idea what was to happen after today. They couldn't tell you. The duke had asked them not to tell you.
As the carriage comes to a slow stop, Carole takes a deep breath. This was it. Today she would become Lady Bradshaw. Bob steps out of the carriage and Lord Kerner appears at the door. He helps you out first, and then Carole. The carriages leave. Lord Kerner and his wife part from you to go inside. They both smile at you before they go.
Carole turns to you and lets out a little sigh.
"I can't believe this is it."
You smile at her.
"Are you ready?" You ask her.
"Are you?"
"Me? I'll be fine. This is your day."
Carole doesn't say anything else. She looks at you in silence. You want to know what it running through her mind, but you feel like you may have a good guess as to what it is. You don't say anything and offer her your arm. She takes it.
You nod to Bob. He nods back.
Bob leads the way inside. You let him go first, waiting with Carole just outside. She takes a deep breath. Music comes from within and it is at that point you know there is no turning back. She will marry Nick Bradshaw and you will be left to face your mother.
You both go inside.
Lord Bradshaw turns around at the end of the aisle and sees his bride making her way to him. The smile on his face is unmatched. His whole demeanour lights up at the very sight of her. Nick Bradshaw is the happiest man alive.
You walk Carole to the end of the aisle and give her hand over to Lord Bradshaw. He doesn't even acknowledge you as he takes her hand. You and Carole laugh softly. You step away and take your seat, ignoring the fact that your parents were sitting a few places behind you, most likely glaring at you. You could almost feel their gazes.
Sitting on the groom's side was the duke. You hadn't noticed him yet, but he had noticed you. His eyes had been focused on you from the moment you came into sight. Even now as the ceremony begins, his eyes are on you.
You look at Carole and Nick. Never has love looked so pure and full before. This was a perfect match.
You heart yearned to have that. You wanted what they had. Deep down in your heart you know there is only one soul who could give you what you wanted, but you had to talk to him first. You had to tell him how you felt.
No matter what your mother tried next, you knew you wanted the duke.
As if finally sensing his presence you turn your head to the side. Blue eyes are watching you from the other side of the room. You heart begins to race. Now that he has your attention, he smiles. You feel like the rest of the world has frozen. He's smiling at you. You smile back, unable to stop yourself even if you tried. He's here and he's looking at you.
There is hope.
You have no idea how long you had been looking at him for, but before you know it, the bride and groom are exchanging vows and rings. You tear your gaze away from the man who holds your heart and turn back to your sister. The smile on your face is still present though, which has him chuckling to himself as he finally turns away from you too.
Carole is declared his bride and they kiss.
You, along with everyone, stand to cheer for the happy couple as they exit the church.
You file out along with everyone else, Mrs Kerner catching your arm before your parents can even think of stealing you away. Lord Kerner comes up on your other side to block them. The duke follows silently a few paces behind you, but you don't know that.
Everyone exits the church and the couple are surrounded. You smile as you watch your sister and her husband file into a carriage, waving at everyone. You catch Carole's eyes and she blows you a kiss. You smile and return it, waving her off. You'll see her in a little bit anyway, but she was about to spent a moment with her husband alone in the carriage.
Mrs Kerner brings your attention back to her once the couple are out of sight. You go with them to get into another carriage, calling Bob to come with you.
Unknown to either you or Bob, your parents were pushing past people to get to you both. The duke had seen them and effortlessly cut them off without them even realising he was there doing it. Along with Seresin, who had been present, the pair work together to keep the path to you blocked by guests. Bob reaches you without hassle and you both disappear from sight. The duke nods at Seresin from across the lawn and they both part ways.
It was time to celebrate before tomorrow's dual.
And the duke had yet to talk to you.
Tomorrow, nothing will be the same. One way or another, your life will be very different.

love me like you - tik
I pairing: college! Tom 'Iceman' Kazansky x female reader
I précis: You get drunk at a party and your lovely bf takes care of you!
I content/warnings: mentions of drinking/alcohol, mentions of being drunk, cigarette/smoking mention, college soccer player tom, college au
I word count: 1,093
I a/n: part of my college soccer ice series
Much to Ice’s chagrin, the team throws or attends a party after almost every game. If it’s a win, it’s to celebrate. If it’s a loss, it’s to commiserate. He doesn’t like drinking during soccer season, so he usually plays babysitter until everyone gets home. When you first asked Ice to go out with you, it was at a party, and you were endeared with the way he watched over the other boys and made sure they all stayed safe.
Now, you’re another person that Ice watches over at the party, especially if you’re drinking.
The other boys love when you tag along to parties, because it means they get to see the softer side of Ice that he doesn’t usually show to them. It’s even better when you’re drunk, because he’s extra lovey to you, and the guys eat it up.
You’re sprawled out on Ice’s lap while he lounges on the couch. Much to his dismay, there was a frat party so that is where he’s spending his Friday night, rather than relaxing with you.
His hand moves up and down your bare leg soothingly, distracting himself until you’re ready to leave. Your skin is warm under his palm, and he revels in the way you’ve gone limp in his lap, fully comfortable with—on—him. You’ve had about one seltzer too many, and Ice makes a mental note to grab you a bottle of water when you let him up.
Your finger traces his jawline up-and-down until you get bored with that and shift in his lap. “Icey,” You whisper, leaning forward like you’re going to share a secret.
He doesn’t even get a chance to answer before you’re placing your palms on either side of his face, squishing his cheeks, and forcing his lips to pucker. You press a sloppy kiss to his mouth, before releasing his face.
“What did you need, baby?” He hums, a fond expression taking over his features.
“Nothin’.” You mumble, suddenly shy. “Just wanted to kiss you.”
He laughs, warm and deep, running his hand over your back again. “Yeah?” He wonders. “You wanna do it again?”
You nod eagerly, falling even more into him when he presents his lips. They’re warm and gentle against your own, and you giggle into his mouth, hands curling into the hair at the nape of his neck.
“You’re so pretty,” You whisper when you pull away.
“I have to tell you something.” He says, mirroring your tone. “You’re even prettier.”
A delighted shriek leaves your lips and you squish him in a hug again.
One seltzer too many, turned into too many drinks entirely, in just a couple of short hours. You’d gone to the bathroom with one of your friends and came back drunker than you had been before, with a wasted Goose in tow, giggling at something you were whispering in his ear.
“Alright, I think you’ve both had enough.” Ice states, standing up briskly, and deftly slipping an arm around your side.
“You mean we’re leaving?” Goose whines, resting his head on Ice’s shoulder.
“Afraid so, bud.” Ice nods. He pulls his phone out to text his team—double checking that no one else needs a ride home—before corralling you and Goose to his car.
In anticipation of this happening, he’d parked as close to the run-down fraternity house as possible.
Ice man-handles Goose into the backseat so that he can focus fully on you. He’s bent at the waist, leaning over you to slide the seatbelt across your body. Once it’s clicked into place, he presses his lips to your temple, lingering for longer, before making his way to the driver’s seat.
He listens to you ramble on about a plethora of things, a fond smile on his face as he holds one of your hands in his.
When he pulls up to the house he shares with the other members of his soccer team, Mav is standing, propped up against the side of the house, smoking a drunk cigarette. Ice has no idea how Mav beat him home, considering he was in the middle of a keg stand when Ice left with you and Goose.
“Mav!” Goose is suddenly yelling, half of his body hanging outside the window that Ice didn’t even hear him open.
“Jesus, Goose, get back in the car!” Ice calls, using the driver door access to close the back window when Goose heaves his body back inside the car.
It’s a long journey from the car to the front door, especially with you leaning more than half of your body weight on your boyfriend, while Goose is tugging him by the hand, eager to get inside and eat a snack.
Slider is inside—and sober—and Ice breathes a sigh of relief. He would’ve liked to have been the one to stay home, but right now he’s just happy Slider can help take care of Goose and Mav, and he can worry about getting you up to bed.
“Long night?” Slider jokes, wrapping his hand around Goose’s bicep so he can lead him into the kitchen.
“C’mon Goosey, I’ve got pizza rolls for you and Mav.”
“Thanks Sli.” Ice smiles, nodding at his friend before focusing fully on you. Usually Ice loves his bedroom—the only one on the third floor of the old house—but right now he’s wishing it wasn’t so that it wouldn’t be as far for you to walk. You’ve got your arms wrapped around his torso now, head pressed into his chest.
“M’tired, Icey.” You whine. “Can we take an elevator?”
He chuckles into the top of your head. “We don’t have one, honey.” He shoves his phone into his back pocket, slings your purse into the bend of his arm, before crouching in front of you.
“Hop on, baby.”
“Really!?” You coo, with much more energy than you currently possess.
“Really.” He’s smiling but you can’t see it, and you clamber onto his back with a huff.
“Got it!” You cheer, nestling your cheek against his shoulder. He’s steady through two flights of stairs, not even quivering when he gently deposits you on his bed.
“You’re so strong,” You coo happily. “Thank you for carrying me, Icey.”
“You don’t have to thank me honey,” He smiles, full and sincere. “Always gonna take care of you.”
You giggle, reaching up to lock your arms around his neck. You grin grows impossibly big when he plasters kisses to the top of your head.
“C’mon sweet girl, let’s get you ready for bed.”
