Nikolai adopts trans people, whose parents abandoned/disowned them after coming out. He does this very frequently too, actually. While he may not actively seek said trans people out, he attracts them either way. Someone needs to care about them, and so he takes on the job of being their father. He'll support them through their transition and keep in contact with them, keeping them safe from their actual parents as well. He absolutely adores his trans sons, daughters and children and makes sure they know that. His "children" don't need to be actual children or teenagers, though, as he adopts adults as well.

For y'all's review for the AU: A Prequel Outline - Divorce Saga Domon

Hey real quick - I'm thinking of maybe changing the timeline to 2 years post canon as opposed to 3 years and change post canon.

The reason being: I had a thought that this scene could either be part if the fic or if it's getting to big then it could be a stand alone tie-in prequel fic as part of this AU but - like

Immediately Post Divorce Domon Needs Space and runs off. As one does. And he runs to Earth because he just wants to Get Lost for a while.

He has Argo smuggle him out to avoid detection.

Argo has Andrew help stow Domon in a storage hanger of a Neo Canadian supply ship that's returning to the US - they have trade often enough and share agricultural resources - which leads to Domon ending up in New York when he hits Earthside pavement.

He's privately worked on his English the last couple of months and after being dropped in New York with a different hairstyle, outfit, and accent he's unrecognizable. 

He considers making his way west to get some solitude in the wilderness, but something about that initial plan feels off now that he's on the ground.

Chibodee is also Earthside for a special series of prize fights aimed at raising charitable appeal for the US in the eyes of Neo Americans.

Domon decides to hit up Chibodee for a fight on a day between matches hoping it'll clear his head and give him the clarity to decide on a course of action. What ends up happening is an unexpected heart to heart via blows and a breakdown.

Domon is happy for Rain and Kyoji, and he knows it's not true; but he feels like he lost a piece of himself when his relationship with Rain fell apart.

Domon's instinct is to run after that but Chibodee knows this city and Domon doesn't hide out for long before Chibodee drags him back to his place to stay and just "Chill out and breathe. You don't have to be anyone but yourself here. You can take as long as you need to find out what everything changing means for you." Friends and teammates stick together.

So Domon spends a few weeks with Chibodee sparring and hanging out in New York. Chibodee does a frankly awesome job at containing his feelings because he's focusing on Domons feelings and being a good friend first and foremost. Whatever he's feeling can wait until after Domon is done going though it.

There's a bit of a twinge in Domon's heart as he leaves that he can't really place.

After he returns to Neo Japan and gets settled back into life with his family, The Dreams start.

They're mainly set in New York. Small things first like noticing Chibodee's smile and his eyes. Then sparring sessions that begin to turn lurid.

He thought these kinds of dreams would stop after he was married.... he doesn't know what to do about this.

I just figure it gives more clarity and sense of time for the journey from Comphet Marriage Dissolution to Feelings to Confession. Idk.

But I got stuck on a bit and then had this thought and needed to get it down before I lost it and it was so long it made sense to make it its own post as opposed to several replies.

The Maize and Clown Motel will probably still be 3 years and change post canon for clarification.

Sooooo I spent all day reading Nakahara’s poetry and then I got home and spent several more hours taking his poems apart stanza by stanza to, essentially, collage them into five poems that suit the Chuuya in my fic

Truly, hyperfixation at work right there.

I tweaked words here and there to suit my AU better, but most of it is from Nakahara’s poetry

This one, which I haven’t named yet, is Chuuya writing from the perspective of himself if Dazai successfully took his own life

(To be clear, Dazai isn’t going to die in my fic, it’s Chuuya going through the what if of it.)

I.

I’m quietly drinking;

remorse on remorse, and I feel unsettled.

Dark remorse, always lingering remorse.

Filled with stupid laughter, my past

soon became tearful darkness,

soon became deep-rooted fatigue.

My heart always sinking in mourning thoughts.

— Once lost, things never return.

II.

Well then, goodbye, you said,

unusually full of smiles, with something of a brassy glitter,

and then out you went by that door.

The Pokemon HOME app limiting random features and information to either the mobile or console versions is SO clunky and annoying.

My goal: to check which of my favorite Pokemon and shinies stored in HOME don't have the Paldea Champion Ribbon yet, so I can bring those into Scarlet and get it for them. But! You can only view what ribbons a Pokemon has on the mobile version of the software! And you can't move Pokemon to your switch games from mobile!!! So you have to:

quit out of the console app, if you opened it already because you thought this would be a relatively simple task

open the app on mobile

manually document which Pokemon don't have the ribbon- like, on a piece of paper or something

close the mobile app (you can't have both versions of the app open simultaneously)

open the app on console

move them from HOME into Scarlet, referring to aforementioned list

Now you might say "There is a custom tag feature in Pokemon HOME! You could apply a tag to the Pokemon you plan to move instead of making a physical note on a piece of paper!" But unfortunately, the only aspect of the tag you can see on the console version is the color- the name of the tag isn't visible. and I'm already using every color of tag available

(also: you can only make and apply tags on mobile. other mobile exclusive things: wonder trade and gts, viewing 90% of achievements, viewing models, switching between a pokemon's stats for different games it can go in without switching what game you're planning on moving things between)

When Joel’s settled in and he and Maria are on their way to becoming best friends, they dedicate their free time to teasing Tommy whenever they can. Joel tells her all the embarrassing stories from when Tommy was younger that he was too embarrassed to tell his wife, and Maria tells him stories from more recent, like how he embarrassed himself when he started flirting with her.

Also, Joel totally makes joking comments like ‘Tommy, you’re just lucky you met her first’

okay anon. bestie. i literally screamed at this it is 7 am and i at squealing like a pig in my bedroom rn because YES. JOEL FLIRTING WITH MARIA TO BOTHER TOMMY?? FUCK YES. so so so funny to me

i tried to write a little fic to show how similar and funny joel and maria would be together regarding teasing or chewing out tommy, and anon because this gave me joy, i hope i can return the favor with this!

this is what i’d imagine it would be like if both joel and maria had to deal with an injured tommy:

“Tommy goddamn Miller!” Joel bellows, because of fuckin’ course he does. Goddamn drama queen.

“Oh, here we go.”

“Did I not tell you five times, you stupid goddamn idiot, that the Davis’s fuckin’ roof was too unstable for us to fix?”

“Joel, I know. I got a broken fuckin’ leg here already. You really don’t need to—“

“And did I not repeat myself three times when I said I think we should wait on fixing the leak until we can find a way to reinforce the structure?”

“…”

“Well?”

“…”

“Did I not say that three fuckin’ times, Tommy?”

“Apparently you did, Joel.”

“Then why don’t you go on and explain to me, God, and all the nurses in here why in the hell you would decide to just mosey on up there anyways?”

“I wasn’t trying to—! I thought I coul—,”

“You thought you could? You thought you could, right, okay. Do you remember when you thought you could jump off of the Dillon’s roof, drunk off your ass at your graduation party?”

“It was into their pool!”

“It was stupid, is what is was. You had three compound fractures, Tommy. You got a fuckin’ concussion —I’m not arguing about that again, for fuck’s sake.”

“You brought it up.”

“Tommy.”

“What?”

“Tommy.”

“Okay, okay! M’Sorry, sorry, geez! I thought I could at least get high enough to see what needed repairing from the top without getting too close to the weak spot, okay? How was I supposed to know the whole goddamn roof would come down?”

“I fuckin’ told you I thought the roof might come down yesterday, Tommy.”

“Oh, really? You did? How many times?”

Joel gave him a flat look. “You’re not funny.”

“My niece would beg to differ. Where is she, anyway?”

“Still out cleanin’ the stables with Jesse and Dina. Should be here soon, though. I asked a nurse to find her and tell her to meet us here.”

“Oh, come on, Joel, don’t! That’s just gonna worry her! I’m fine!”

“You’re in an infirmary bed, Tommy, with a broken goddamn leg. You ain’t fuckin’ fine.”

“Yeah, well, the Dillon’s pool was way worse.”

“Wha—No it wasn’t! Either way, you shouldn’t have fuckin’—I am not gonna argue with you about that again—,”

“Tommy Miller!” Maria’s voice, a dangerous mixed of urgently worried and pissed off, interrupts Joel’s ranting.

“Shit,” Tommy mumbles once, just before she comes in. Joel smirks pointedly at him, which he chooses to ignore. He tries his best to give her a charming smile, the one that usually works to at least soften her up a bit. “Uh, hey Hone—“

“Don’t fucking hey Honey me, you fuckin’ Miller! You fell through a goddamn roof?”

“No! Or, er—not really. Kind of.”

“What the fuck do you mean, kind of?”

“Well, first off, I’m completely oka—“

“You have a broken leg, Tommy.”

“Shut up, Joel, I’m mostly fine—,”

“What happened?” Maria interrupts them again.

“Well. Technically, uh—,”

“Technically he fell off the roof, ma’am. Piece he was usin’ to climb up wasn’t stable, so he slipped. Slid straight off it, I heard—,”

“Fuck off, Joel.”

“Which is actually worse for you than falling straight down, I think. Technically.”

“I swear to God, Joel, you better shut your stupid mouth, or I’ll—,”

“Or you’ll what? What’re you gonna do, roundhouse kick me on one leg?”

“I’ll kick you somewhere, that’s for fuckin’ sure—,”

“Boys,” Maria stopped them.

“Sorry,” they both mumbled sheepishly.

Maria just closed her eyes, heaving out a sigh and putting her face in her hands.

Tommy grimaced at her rare show of stress. She often didn’t like letting anyone see her worry, not even him and Joel, despite how close the three have become. “Really, baby. It’s okay. I’m just fine.”

“It’s okay, I’m just fine,” she mocks sarcastically, accent at all. It makes Joel laugh, as always, which at least brings a small smile to her fact. “Tommy. You’re in a hospital bed with a broken leg, and Esther just told me you might have a concussion. You’re not fine.”

Joel gives him a pointed look at the repeat of his own words from earlier, and Tommy has to resist sticking out his tounge. Still, he can’t quite bring himself to complain about their smothering—not in the face of this much love. He shuts up and accepts it.

OK bear with me here cause this might be a bit of a reach courtesy of shipping brain but for as blatant and on the nose as a lot of the Hailey × Scott stuff has been I also feel like the whole Puffle Kerfluffle thing also gives a lot of Hailey x Becker vibes.

There is no question that at the end Bailey is meant to represent Hailey herself, but I think that Hailey seeing Scott in Thatcher is just because at this point Becker hasn't even really entered the picture and Hailey is presently seeing Scott in a romantic light. Thatcher is clearly much more reminiscent of Becker, not just in name (Thatcher is closer to Becker than it is to Scott) but also in appearance and mannerisms.

Scott was scared to approach him after seeing him screaming and thrashing on stage but it turned out he was actually a nice guy, much like how Becker comes off as this violent troublemaker until Hailey really gets to know her and realizes she's actually very sweet. He also dresses more similarly to how Becker might. I mean, look at him.

He's even got a spiked bracelet almost if not identical to Becker's, just on the opposite wrist. He just gives way more Becker vibes than our lovable goofball Scott.

Now this part is the bigger reach with way more speculation. A lot of people are theorizing about how the Professor could be future Hailey. I doubt this because we hear future Hailey on a recording and it's the same voice actress as young Hailey, as opposed to the Professor's actress. Not only that but they don't look at all like the same person. They do look similar, however. Maybe even related. Maybe like future Hailey-- who would be in her 60s during the Professor's time-- could be her mother. It tracks given that the Professor looks like she's in her 30s, and holds a lot of reverence and respect for Hailey. She even has a bunch of Hailey's belongings in her room/workshop in the background during the episode Cos-played. Arguably more likely is that she's Scott and Hailey's kid.

I posit however that her personality, which is a little closer to Becker's chaos loving manners with Hailey's brains, might be because her parents are actually Hailey and Becker. She also seems remarkably unimpressed around Scott.

But that may well just be because in this scene he's more fixated on the backpack she brought with her than the insanely powerful supercomputer in her hand.

Hailey almost even seems to not actually have strong romantic feelings for Scott like she thinks. She comes off as relieved whenever their near kisses are interrupted, and if they aren't organically interrupted she'll come up with a reason to stop for herself. Thanks to Chibi Pride we also know that neither Scott nor Hailey are 100% straight, either.

For as much Scott x Hailey as there is it feels like there is just as much albeit super subtle nods towards Becker x Hailey and I will go down with this ship.

due to the fact that this blog will be answering rpc related questions, and the fact that it may feel quite daunting to ask these questions without the anonymous feature, i'm choosing to bring back anon! but any abuse of this feature will result in it being switched off.

i'm starting a new part of my life that will take full priority, so i may be slower and less active, but i do intend to be here within reason! i think we all understand that this time of year is particularly hectic for most of the dash, so i appreciate you all, and i hope you're finding things easier and more do-able!
