Satoru Gojo
The sun shone softly through the church's stained glass windows, illuminating the room with an almost ethereal glow. In front of everyone, Satoru Gojo stood there, impeccably dressed in a white suit, with that mischievous and provocative smile he always used to hide what he really felt. His white hair contrasted with his sparkling blue eyes, and as he held her hands, his carefree facade softened for a brief moment of sincerity. He took a deep breath, looking directly into her eyes, and began his vows.
"Well, everyone knows that I am, without a doubt, the strongest. Apparently, I am also the luckiest, because of all the people in the world, you chose to marry me. Or, who knows, I convinced you with my irresistible charm, hard to say. But, joking aside, being by your side is the only thing that makes me want to be even better. I, who always cared little about rules or what others thought, discovered that, with you, I really want to make everything work out." Gojo paused, letting the silence between you expand, his eyes shining with that unique mix of arrogance and vulnerability.
"I know the world can be chaotic, especially with my life. But I promise that, even on the hardest days, I'll be the guy who makes you laugh, who teases you just to see the sparkle in your eyes. I promise that, through all the curses and the fights, you'll always be my point of peace, the only person for whom I'd lower any barrier, even my own."
He gave a wide smile, that typical Gojo smile, and concluded with his final signature of confidence, "So, here I am, not only as the strongest, but as the guy who was lucky enough to win you over. I promise to protect you with everything I am, and to love you in my own way, which, of course, will be the best way, because we're talking about me."
Choso Kamo
The ceremony was surrounded by a silent and intimate atmosphere, far from exaggeration, but filled with the purest love. You were dressed in a beautiful white dress adorned with ornaments that highlighted your figure. The man's long black hair was loose, falling over his shoulders, and his dark, almost unfathomable eyes were fixed on you, and only on you.
Holding your hands tightly, Choso took a deep breath before beginning his vows. The seriousness of his tone contrasted with the softness of the moment.
"My life has always been marked by struggles, by the weight of responsibility and the pain of losing those I love. I never imagined that, in the midst of all this, I would find someone who would make me see that there was more beyond pain and duty. But then you appeared, like an unexpected light."
He paused, his eyes fixed on yours, reflecting a deep affection.
"You are my calm. When the world seems to be falling apart around me, you remind me that I can still have something good, something worth protecting, not with blood or force, but with my heart. I am not a man of many words, but know that every promise I make to you today is as immutable as the bond I carry with my brothers." Choso squeezed her hands a little tighter, his eyes moist but still serious. "I promise to be by your side, in silence or in words, when you need me. I promise to be your protection, as I have always been for my family, but this time... for you, out of love. And even if I don't know how to express my feelings in the simplest way, know that my commitment to you is unbreakable. You are my choice, my family, and nothing in the world will make me give up on keeping you safe, happy and loved." He paused briefly, seeming to ponder the words that would follow, and then concluded. "As I fight to honor my brothers, I will fight to honor you, all the days of our lives."
Nanami Kento
The wedding atmosphere was elegant and discreet, just as Kento preferred. The ceremony was simple, without exaggeration, but every detail seemed to have been carefully thought out to reflect his personality. Nanami stood before you, wearing his traditional beige suit, his tie perfectly adjusted, and his expression always serious, but with a softness visible only to you. His serene and confident gaze met yours, and when it was his turn to say his vows, he took a deep breath, never taking his eyes off yours.
"I've always been a practical man. Life, for me, has always been about doing what's necessary, efficiently, without deviating from what needs to be done. I've never been one to waste time on idealism or empty promises. But today, here with you, I realize that there is something more valuable than any plan or routine I could have drawn up."
He paused briefly, allowing the silence to do its work and show how important that moment was to him.
"You made me see that even in the midst of chaos, it is possible to find something worthwhile, something that goes beyond duty. With you, I learned that love does not need to be a distraction, but rather a force that makes me stronger. And so, today, before you, I promise something simple, but true."
Nanami gently squeezed her hands, her gaze never wavering.
"I promise to be the man who will always be by your side, in difficult times and in calm times. I promise to be your safe haven, someone you can trust completely. I am not one for grand gestures or flowery words, but every action I take will be to protect you and love you, with the same seriousness that I dedicate to everything that truly matters to me."
A slight smile, rare and genuine, touched her lips, softening the moment even more.
"You are what matters to me. And that is the only promise that truly makes sense. My commitment to you is solid, like everything I do in my life. Simple, but unbreakable. And if there is one thing I can guarantee, it is that by your side, I will always be the man you can trust, until the end of our days."
Toji Fushiguro
The ceremony was simple, almost unpretentious, reflecting Toji’s practical and unsentimental nature. He stood there, in front of her, with his relaxed posture, but with that intimidating air he always carried. His green eyes were piercing and his black hair fell messily over his forehead. Toji had never been a man of many words, but when he began to speak, his deep, steady voice seemed to carry more truth than any elaborate speech. He sighed, a cynical half-smile playing on his lips as he began his vows.
“Well, you already know I’m not the type to make pretty promises or fill your head with sweet words. I never have been, and I never will be. But if you’re here, choosing to marry me, I think you figured that out a long time ago.” He gave a light laugh, his tone rough but sincere, as he held her hand tightly, unceremoniously but surely. "I'm not going to pretend that I'm the perfect guy. I'm complicated, I have a lot of problems, and I've been through things that you can't even imagine. But if there's one thing I've learned in all this time, it's that the few people that matter... we protect them with everything we have."
Toji paused, his green eyes fixed on hers, carrying a raw intensity.
"I'm not one to talk about feelings, you know that. But I fight for what's mine. I always have, and I'll keep fighting. You're mine now, and that means I'll protect you the way I know how, with every fiber of my being. I promise to be by your side, even when the world seems to fall apart, because I'm not the type to give up easily. And if someone tries to hurt you, well... you know how that will end."
His smile returned, a little sarcastic, but filled with raw and true affection.
"I'm not the best man in the world, but what I can promise is that I'll be here, being who I am, and giving my all for you, like I've always done for the few things that really matter in my life. So, if you're willing to face that... well, I think we're a good team."
Aoi Todo
The wedding with Aoi Todo was anything but discreet. The ceremony was full of laughter and energy, just like him. The room vibrated with his presence, and even at the altar, Todo had that wide, confident smile, making no attempt to hide his excitement. Dressed in an elegant black suit that barely contained all the man's muscles. He turned to you with a sparkle in his eyes, holding your hands firmly. When it was his turn to say the vows, his voice echoed loudly, he was completely sure of what he was doing.
"You know I'm not a guy who minces words, right? And it's no different now. When I think of the two of us, only one thing comes to mind: you're my ideal woman."
He laughed, as if it were a joke he couldn't let go, and the people around him chuckled a few times too. But when he continued, his tone became more serious.
"Since the day I met you, I knew we were a good match. Not only because you're incredible and strong, but because you understand what it means to live intensely. And that's what I promise you today. I promise to live each day with you as intensely as I can. I promise to be by your side in every fight, in every victory, and even in the difficulties, because I know that, together, we are unstoppable."
Todo squeezed his hands a little tighter, his brown eyes shining with emotion and determination. "I know I can be a little... exaggerated sometimes." He laughed at himself, shrugging. "But that's because I feel everything so strongly. And with you it won't be any different. I will love you with everything I have, with the same fire I put into everything in my life. You are my partner, my ideal woman, and that's what matters most to me."
That confident smile returned to his face, but there was a special affection in his words. "So let's do this, live this life together with everything we have. I promise to support you, protect you, and most importantly, always admire you because you inspire me every day to be a better person. We will conquer the world together, and I promise that every second will be unforgettable, because with you, life will never be less than spectacular."
Yuji Itadori
The day of your wedding with Yuji was sunny, and the light breeze brought a feeling of freshness that perfectly reflected the vibrant energy he always carried. Dressed in a simple black suit, Yuji stood in front of you, with that genuine and warm smile that seemed to light up the room. His brown eyes shone with a mix of nervousness and excitement, and his flushed cheeks made him look even more charming. When it was Yuji's turn to exchange vows, he took a deep breath, clearly a little anxious, but determined to be sincere as he always was.
"Look, I'm not very good with pretty words," he began, laughing a little at himself, scratching the back of his neck with a shy smile. "But I'll try, because you deserve this and much more."
Yuji looked at you with that gaze full of admiration, and his voice, still soft, became firmer.
"From the moment I met you, I knew there was something special. Not only because you're amazing, strong, and kind, but because you made me believe that even in the midst of so many difficult things, we can always find something good... something worth fighting for." He paused, his eyes sparkling with emotion as he held her hands tenderly. "I promise that every day, I'll do my best to make you happy. Even if I make mistakes, because let's be honest, I'm a bit clumsy, I'll always try to improve. I promise to support you in everything you do, to protect you, and to be someone you can trust, just like I trust you."
Yuji's smile widened, but his eyes began to water a little, although he tried to hide it. "I know life can be complicated, but I'm not afraid, because with you by my side, I know I can face anything. I don't know what the future holds, but I know that as long as we're together, every day will be worth it. I promise to love you with all my heart, every day, without exception. Because you... you are the reason I want to be a better person."
Megumi Fushiguro
The atmosphere was serene, with few people around, and Megumi, in a well-cut black suit, maintained his calm and reserved posture. His dark hair was neat, but still fell in a slightly messy way, as always. When the time came for him to exchange vows, Megumi seemed a little uncomfortable with the attention, but he would face it for you, face anything for you. He took a deep breath, looking at you, and began to speak with sincerity.
"I... I've never been good at talking about how I feel," he began, with a small, almost shy smile. "But I think today I need to try."
His green eyes met yours, and for a moment, the world seemed to shrink until it was just the two of you.
"You know that I've always been someone who prefers to observe in silence, who avoids grand gestures and cares more about doing than talking. And maybe that's why I've never told you enough how much you mean to me. But that changes today."
He paused, his expression serious, but his affection for you was evident in the way he held your hands carefully, as if you were the only thing that mattered.
"I promise that, even in the most difficult moments, I will be here by your side, doing whatever it takes to protect you, even if I don't say it in words all the time. I promise to be your support, your safe haven, the way I know how: acting, being present, taking care of you in the most silent but constant way possible."
Megumi looked away for a brief second, as if organizing her words, before looking back at you.
"You brought something into my life that I didn't expect. You made me realize that, despite everything we've been through, the world still has good things. And you're the best of them. I promise that, even if I don't know how to perfectly express what I feel, you'll always be the person I'll fight for, every day."
He finished with a sincere expression, his eyes soft and full of a rare emotion that only you could see in him.
"I may not be the most eloquent, but I know that, with you, I am better than I ever thought I could be. And I will spend the rest of my life showing that, in my own way. I promise that no matter what happens, I will love you and protect you, even if it is in silence."
Yuta Okkotsu
The sun shone softly over the outdoor ceremony, and the light breeze carried with it the tranquility of the moment. Yuta, dressed in a dark blue suit that contrasted with his pale face and black hair, stood in front of her, holding her hands gently. His blue eyes were fixed on hers, with a depth that reflected his sincerity and a slight shyness. When it was Yuta's turn to exchange vows, he took a deep breath, visibly nervous, but determined to convey what he felt.
His voice was soft, a little hesitant at first, but full of affection. "I... never imagined that I would be here, with you, experiencing something so beautiful. Honestly, for a long time I thought that I would never be able to love or be loved again. But then you came along and... changed everything." He paused, his eyes shining with a mix of emotion and vulnerability.
"You made me believe that I deserve to be happy, that it's possible to have a life with someone without fear, without the pain of the past always haunting me. I know I'm not perfect, that I have my flaws, but with you, I feel like I can be a better person. I promise, from today on, that I will do my best to be worthy of you, to be by your side in every struggle we face."
Yuta gently squeezed her hands, and a shy smile appeared on his lips.
"I promise to protect you, support you, and love you with everything I am, no matter what happens. And, more than that, I promise that I will work every day so that you never have doubts about how much you mean to me. Because you are the light that took me out of the darkness, and for that, I will always be yours. Always." The emotion in his voice was palpable, and his eyes began to fill with tears, although he tried to hold them back.
Yuta, always so kind and full of feeling, spoke with a truth that went beyond words.
"I don't know what the future holds, but I know that with you, I'm ready for anything. You've given me something I never thought I'd have again: hope. And I'm going to spend the rest of my life caring for you, as lovingly and sincerely as I can. That's my promise."
Suguru Geto
You, an ordinary human, were about to exchange vows with a man who, even with all his hatred for humanity without cursed energy, still chose you to be by his side.
"It's ironic, isn't it?" he began, his voice low. "I, who dedicated myself to exterminating the weak, to purifying the world of worthless humans, am here... marrying one of you."
His smile was cold, almost cruel, as he watched the reaction on your face. But there was a strange duality in his gaze, something that went beyond the hatred he felt for humanity.
"You, an ordinary human, without curses, without any power, have achieved something that no one else has. I don't know if that's a weakness of mine or a curiosity of fate. But here we are."
He paused, his dark eyes studying you carefully.
"I won't lie to you. My contempt for humans hasn't changed. You continue to be the cause of everything that's wrong in this world. Weak, petty, greedy... and yet, for some reason, you remain by my side." Suguru stepped forward, his cold hands holding hers, but the touch wasn't affectionate, it was firm, controlled, as if he were handling something fragile, but without much care.
"If I chose you, it's not because I changed who I am or what I believe. I chose you because, despite everything, you are different. Perhaps you are the only exception in this corrupted world. But know that this doesn't change my purpose, my desire to cleanse this world. And you, as my wife, will be by my side in that."
His eyes narrowed, and he leaned in slightly closer. "I promise that as long as you are by my side, you will be protected. But do not think that this is an eternal guarantee. If one day you become like them, if one day you become corrupt, I will not hesitate." He gave a half smile
"But until then, you have my commitment. You will have a safe place by my side. I will protect you, not as a human, but as someone who transcends your pathetic condition. And in the end, when my plan comes to fruition and the world is purified, you will be the only one by my side, in the new world that I will create."

Win a Date with Takada-Chan! Part I
Pairing: Aoi Todo x f!reader
Rating: Mature
Word Count: ~4.6k
cw: reader described as having hair, reader has curves, suggestive dialogue, sexual tension, explicit language
Summary: You win a very exclusive contest to join in a group date with Takada-Chan! You’re able to bring a guest, but Sara is busy that day. Who else can you ask? None other than your fake boyfriend Aoi Todo.
Author’s Notes: Here’s chapter five, enjoy! Thanks for the support on this so far, I really appreciate it. Divider credit to @/saradika.
Previous Chapter | Masterlist | Next Chapter
After recounting to Sara all that was said between you and Todo, her first response is, “What the fuck?!” She grabs your two braided pigtails to twirls the ends in your face. “This was all said right in front of me and Yuji?!” You nod sheepishly to confirm. The two of you are waiting at the bus stop, heading back to your place from Club Coffee. After seeing Todo pull you forward to whisper in your ear, your best friend is naturally very curious at what was said.
“I told you he was a perv, but I guess you are too. Naughty girl,” she teases, still tugging on one of your braids.
You cover your face with your hands, embarrassed. “I don’t know what I was thinking.”
“You liked that he was checking you out! You like him!”
“I don’t like him!” you protest. “I don’t even know him!”
“But you’re attracted to him. You can’t deny that.” She stares at you with a brow raised, waiting for you to confess. God, you hate it when she’s right. She always rubs it in your face.
In a quiet voice, you mumble, “Yeah, I’m attracted to him.”
Sara snaps her fingers as if she just solved a case. “I knew it, I fucking knew it! You were in such denial the other day. Now you can drop this stupid act and just fuck already!”
“I don’t think he’s attracted to me.”
“He was staring at your ass all day. And he told you he likes it rough and wants to show you. What do you call that?”
“He was only saying those things to mess with me since I was messing with him! Also, I’m sure if someone put a mini skirt on an inflatable banana, that man would still check out its ass.” You pause to take a deep sigh. “Also, you’re forgetting the most important thing: He’s in love with Takada-Chan. I mean, the dude is already planning their wedding.”
Sara snorts, rolling her eyes. “I can’t believe you’re attracted to this guy.”
You groan loudly. “I know! What is wrong with me?!”
“Well, it’s pretty clear he’s whipped for Takada-Chan, so there’s nothing that can be done about that. We’ll have to think of something else.”
“We don’t have to think of anything else. It’s not like I’m in love with him or anything. I’m just attracted to him. That’s it. I’ll just have to get over it eventually, which I probably will as soon as he opens his big dumb mouth the next time I see him.”
“Look at you, already looking forward to the next time you see him,” Sara says, smirking.
You can’t believe your sudden feelings for him. Can you even call these feelings? It’s just physical attraction, right? Sure, his confidence is sexy, despite how annoying he can be most of the time. And you know he’s loyal, given his dedication to Takada-Chan. That is something you can respect. You remind yourself that this man hasn’t really done anything nice for you. All the interactions you’ve had together have been argumentative and combative, constantly trying to one up each other. Were there hints of sexual tension here and there? Maybe. But at the end of the day, there isn’t a reason for you to have feelings for Todo, besides your physical attraction to him. You barely know anything about him.
Whatever this is, you decide the best way to move forward is to drop this silly back-and-forth you constantly have with him. Today, he was mature enough to apologize and call a truce, but you decided to take a little bit of revenge anyways. It was petty of you to make suggestive comments in an attempt to embarrass him. It also didn’t work since he landed the final blow.
The next time you see him, you make a promise to yourself to be nice, as you normally would. Maybe your feelings for him will become clearer.
~~~ Todo walks beside Yuji towards the train station, hands in his pocket, reflecting. There’s a fluttering in his stomach as he recalls his rival, basically whispering sweet nothings into his ear. I’ll keep the skirt on while you show me how rough you like it.
Holy shit. His cheeks burn red just thinking about it. Todo never surrenders, but in that moment, he had to. He was so tempted to grab her by the hand and take her up on her offer. No woman has ever said anything like that to him. The few he has been with never engaged in dirty talk. Is he realizing just now how much he’s into it? Because damn, he is really into it. His imagination runs wild with thoughts of her straddling him in that fucking mini skirt, her braids bouncing with every movement, giggles and moans escaping from that cute smile of hers.
Holy shit, seriously, he needs to calm down.
“Today was fun!” Yuji’s voice snaps Todo out of his extremely inappropriate subconscious.
Todo chuckles. “Yeah, it was.”
“You and your rival seem to be getting along better,” Yuji says, with a smirk.
“Yeah, I guess.”
After a long pause, Yuji asks, “So…are we not going to talk about how you were totally checking her out?”
Todo scoffs. “What’s there to talk about?”
“I don’t know, Todo. You seem pretty smitten.” His brother tries his best to hold in his laughter.
“I’m not smitten. Don’t be so stupid, brother. It’s not that deep.”
“I just haven’t seen you gawk at someone like that in a while. Other than Takada-Chan, of course.”
Todo whips her head towards Yuji and glares at him. “Now you’re really sounding ridiculous, brother. You know I only have eyes for sweet, precious Takada-Chan.” Yuji chuckles and doesn’t press on the matter further. Todo continues to contemplate in silence.
It’s not like he is truly committed to Takada-Chan the rest of his life. He may be eccentric and delusional, but he’s not an idiot. He knows deep, deep down that the pop idol and him will never be together. Just as he knows that she never rejected him and that they never even went to middle school together. Deep into the abyss of his being, he knows this is all a fabrication. But he likes living in his little fantasy world of his. He needs it. It gives him something to look forward to, even if it is all pretend. It’s something hopeful. Something positive. Being a Jujutsu Sorcerer is a dangerous job. He knows he puts his life at risk every mission. The reality of his world is harsh, what harm is it to play pretend and hope for something fun in his life?
He's never had long term relationship. Sure, he’s hooked up with a few different women here and there. It never led to anything serious. Is that even something he wants? A serious relationship? What does that even mean to Todo?
The biggest cause of stress for him is boredom. Maybe he values a relationship that keeps him on his toes. He likes a woman who can keep up with him. And he isn’t the type of man that is easy to keep up with. When he thinks about his “rival”, he realizes that all their interactions are never boring. He likes her fiery attitude towards him. She doesn’t back down from a fight, even if she knows she’s outmatched. Todo can be an intimidating person, though it doesn’t seem to faze her.
He knows she’s capable of being nice. She put on the whole act of pretending to be a couple to get Takada-Chan’s attention. Because of her, Todo’s dream of meeting the idol and getting her to know his name came true. She also gave him the signed poster. He still wonders why she did all of that. Is it because she cares for him? A stranger? A stranger who has always been an ass to her? That would be crazy, right?
Today, he’s seen her naughty side. He knows she said those things to provoke him, but holy shit. It was hot. And it wasn’t just because of the outfit she was wearing. The confidence in which she said it was enticing. The way she touched his thigh, knowing it would rile him up. It’s like she knows what gets him going.
And what compelled him to whisper those parting words to her? We’ll just have to reschedule. He wanted to get the last say, he wanted the upper hand. But that’s not all it was. Part of him meant it, wanted it. Maybe he still wants it.
She can be naughty, and she can be nice. He’s seen a little bit of both those sides of her. It intrigues him. He likes it. He wants to see more.
~~~
A week after Takada-Chan’s birthday, the pop idol’s official website releases details on a new contest: Win a Date with Takada-Chan! There will be five winners selected and they can bring a guest. The “date” consists of a party bus ride with Takada-Chan from a predetermined meeting spot to a studio location. At the studio, the lucky guests get a behind the scenes look at an official Takada-Chan photoshoot. After the photoshoot, Takada-Chan will treat her guests to an exclusive private dinner at her favorite sushi restaurant in Tokyo.
It all seems too good to be true. A whole day with the Takada-Chan? Incredible.
To enter the contest, you must submit a photo of yourself showing how big of a fan you are. Then you must write a little blurb about why you would love to win the contest. You decide to submit the photo of you, Todo, and Takada-Chan doing the Taka-tan Beam in her dressing room. In your description, you write about how much you admire Takada-Chan for her talent, confidence, and overall bright persona.
The winners are announced two weeks after. Miraculously, you are one of them. You cannot believe your luck. The pop idol gods have blessed you, indeed.
You tremble with excitement as you speed dial Sara on your phone.
“Hey! What’s up?” she answers.
“You’ll never believe it. I won the contest!”
“Are you serious?! Holy shit! Congratulations!”
“And I get a guest! You’re coming with me!”
“Sounds good. When is it?”
“Next Saturday.”
“Next Saturday?”
“Yes!”
“Dude, we’re hosting a huge party at the restaurant. I won’t be able to make it, I’m serving.”
You frown to yourself. “Aw man. Okay. I guess I’ll have to find someone else.”
You hear your best friend snickering in the background, but she doesn’t say anything.
“What are you laughing about?” you ask.
“You know exactly who you should bring.”
“No. No way.”
“He’s your fake boyfriend, don’t you think Takada-Chan will be suspicious if you don’t bring him?”
“I mean, I’ll make up some excuse. I’m not going to ask Todo.”
“Why not?! We’ve already established that you’re attracted to him. This will be another good opportunity to get to know him better! Or at least gauge how you really feel about him.”
You let out a loud sigh. “You really can’t make it?”
She laughs. “No, I can’t. Just ask Todo. Maybe you two can finally become friends and go to Takada-Chan events together instead of dragging me and Yuji to them.”
“Gasp. I’m hurt. I thought you loved going to Takada-Chan events with me!” you tease.
“The reason I go to the events is because I love you. But Todo might be the answer to all my prayers. Who would have thought that giant mountain of a body would be my saving grace?”
“Ha ha, very funny. Fine. I’ll ask him,” you say, begrudgingly. Then you add, “And for the record, I love you too.”
You can hear your best friend smile through the phone. “Yeah, I know. Now go get your man.”
“Sara!”
~~~
Todo is in the middle of eating ramen when he looks at his phone to see a notification. It’s a text from someone named “Rival”. Why is she texting him?
He opens their message thread. Besides the new message he just received, the only thing on there is their photo with Takada-Chan. He almost forgot how cute this picture is.
Rival: Hey, are you free next Saturday?
He drops his spoon in his soup bowl, reading the text slowly. His heart starts racing faster as he types out a response.
Todo: Yes. Why?
He sees the 3 dots. After a few more seconds, she texts back.
Rival: I won Takada-Chan’s date contest. Sara can’t make it, so I’m asking you.
The contest! Win a Date with Takada-Chan! He entered that weeks ago and never got any response back. He assumed he wasn’t picked. She won?! He’s too excited to text. He presses the phone icon to call her. After a few rings, she picks up. “Todo?”
For some reason, hearing her say his name makes his heart skip a beat. His breath hitches for a millisecond before he responds, “Hey. Yeah, it’s me. You won the contest?”
She chuckles. “Yeah, I did.”
After a few moments of silence, Todo asks, “And you want to take me?”
“Well, Sara can’t make it. So, I figured the next best option would be Takada-Chan’s #2 fan.”
Todo grumbles. “I thought we were past this.”
She giggles. “Yeah yeah, I know, I’m just teasing you. So, are you down?”
“Hell yeah, I’m down. Just text me the details.”
“For sure. I’ll see you next week.”
They hang up and Todo completely abandons his ramen. He’s too thrilled to continue eating. A date with Takada-Chan? It’s official. All his dreams are coming true, minus marrying the pop idol. But he can live with that for now.
It was all thanks to her. His rival. Or maybe he should start calling her his acquaintance? Or friend? Were they even friends? All the thoughts he’s had of her these past two weeks have not been appropriate of someone intending to be just “friends”. It’s safe to say that Todo has not forgotten any part of their interaction at the café. It’s even safer to say that the memory of her outfit that day combined with her flirtatious demeanor lives in his mind rent free.
Whatever these feelings are, he must contain them next week. All his attention will be on Takada-Chan, and that’s it. He’s determined not to be distracted by anything, or anyone, else.
~~~
The day of Takada-Chan’s big group date finally arrives. The outfit you decide to wear today is simple: A lilac purple sweetheart dress that ends just right above your knees and white espadrille sandals. You wear a gold necklace with two interlocking circles. Sara has the exact same kind; you bought it as a matching set to symbolize your unwavering friendship, as cheesy as that sounds.
The meeting location for the group date is about a 20-minute bus ride from your house. You texted Todo the location last week, right after you told him the news. You’re absolutely thrilled to spend the day with Takada-Chan, but also a little apprehensive being on the date with Todo. You’ve replayed your last encounter with him many times over in your mind. You haven’t been able to go a day without thinking about him. When you talked to him on the phone, it was normal. As if you two didn’t exchange sexually charged comments with each other just the other week. What will it be like today?
You take a deep breath as the bus approaches your stop. Are you more nervous about seeing Takada-Chan or Todo? You can’t even tell.
From the stop, you walk about five minutes to the meeting location. It’s an empty parking lot. From your understanding of today’s agenda, a party bus with Takada-Chan will pick you up at 1:00 PM. Currently, it’s 12:40 PM.
The 4 other winners are already there with their plus ones. All of them are men. You laugh to yourself as Sara’s voice plays in your head. “Sausage-fest” is what she would say.
You check your phone. 12:45 PM. Should you text him to see where he is?
A few minutes later, Todo arrives. He’s wearing a dark purple t-shirt with black joggers. The shirt hugs his body tightly, accentuating every muscle and ab on his rock-hard body.
Wow, you think to yourself. This is the first time you’ve noticed his attire. Has he always worn outfits like this? He looks good. Really good.
You swallow the drool that is currently pooling in your mouth as he approaches you. His expression is neutral when he first greets you. You catch him scanning up and down your body, observing you. Then he smirks. “You look good.”
There’s a tingling right below your belly. You take a deep breath before saying, “Thank you. You too.”
He continues to smirk at you as you look directly into each other’s eyes. You gulp loudly, feeling shy. But you don’t want to look away from him.
Suddenly, someone approaches you two. It’s one of the other winners of the contest. The rest of the winners follow closely behind him. “Hey.”
“Hello,” you respond. Something about the way they look at you doesn’t seem friendly.
“Are you the ‘couple’ that Takada-Chan brought into her dressing room?” He puts air quotes around the word “couple”.
Todo steps closer to him, intimidating. “Yeah. What’s it to you?”
The guy smirks, then looks back at the other fans. “See guys, I knew it was all a fraud. Pathetic.”
You scowl at them and ask, “What the hell do you mean by that?”
The annoying guy lets out a malicious laugh before saying, “It’s pretty obvious you two aren’t a couple. You might have Takada-Chan fooled, but not us. We just think it’s pathetic that two fans would stoop so low.”
You hear Todo growling beside you. Not wanting the situation to escalate further, you say, “And what makes you think we aren’t a couple?” You link your arm around Todo’s, glaring at the asshole in front of you.
“We’ve had reports from other fans saying they’ve seen you two at other events, just bickering and arguing with each other. Sometimes barely even speaking to each other.”
Todo snorts, snarling, “You guys are a bunch of nerds. I don’t give a shit what your ‘reports’ say. Stop harassing me and my girlfriend.” His use of the word “girlfriend” makes your heart skip a beat for some reason. Control yourself, woman!
You tighten your grip on Todo’s arm and add, “Besides, you act like regular couples don’t fight and bicker. News flash: they do.”
“Well how come nobody has ever seen you kiss or hug like normal couples do?” Some of the guys behind him nod in agreement.
Todo lets out an even louder snort and laughs. “Is this dude for real?”
This idiot was right on the money about you and Todo pretending to be in a relationship, but you would rather eat shit than admit it. At this point, you’ll do whatever it takes to convince these losers that you’re right and they’re wrong. If it’s a kiss they want, then so be it.
You grip Todo by the collar and pull him down towards you. “If you perverts want to see a kiss, then fine. What do you say, baby?”
Todo seems taken aback by your sudden action. You desperately try to communicate to him telepathically. If you’re not cool with this, it’s okay, we don’t have to do it! But if you are, let’s prove these assholes wrong!
You see that familiar smirk on his lips as he says in that sexy low voice, “Yeah, let’s put on a show.” He leans down as you get on your tippy toes to close the gap.
His lips are soft against yours. Not what you expected from a meathead like this. The kiss starts closed mouth, but then suddenly his tongue slide against your lips, begging for entrance. You part your lips just the tiniest bit to feel his tongue swirl around yours. You let out a small moan, involuntarily.
You break the kiss immediately, Todo’s tongue still sticking out. His eyes are half-closed with a dazed look on his face. You turn away from him, face hot, and say to the crowd, “There. Are you losers happy? Now leave us alone.”
The group of men look at you, ashamed. You hear some of them grumble, “Sorry” as they turn to face away from you. The idiot who did the accusing grimaces at you, muttering, “Whatever.” What a fucking prick.
With perfect timing, you see a black bus drive into the parking lot. Takada-Chan has arrived.
You glance at Todo, who now has rosy cheeks. How cute. In a hushed voice, you say, “I’m sorry about that. I didn’t know how else to get those bastards to leave us alone.”
He doesn’t say anything. You can tell he’s trying to find his words carefully. Not wanting to prolong this awkward silence, you say, “Let’s just enjoy this date with Takada-Chan, okay?” You grab his hand and lead him in front of the black bus, which has just parked. You fall in line behind the other fans, not wanting to see their annoying faces. Todo’s hand is still around yours. You’re basically holding hands.
Peering up at him, you whisper, “What are you doing?”
He clears his throat and whispers back, “We have to keep acting like a couple, right? Couples hold hands.”
You look at him with a bewildered expression, but don’t argue. He’s right. You have to keep this whole act going. For those idiot fans, for Takada-Chan. That’s all it is, right? Just an act.
You adjust your grip so that you are interlocking fingers. This is more convincing. It’s more intimate. His hold around you is firm, his hand massive compared to yours. Oh, the things he could do to you with these hands…
The door to the bus opens and a security guard pops their head out. There’s a clipboard in his hand, presumably to check the list of winners and confirm their identities. Each winner and their guest steps into the bus, one by one. You hear squeals of joy as each fan enters and Takada-Chan greets them. When it’s your turn, the guard, who you now recognize as the same one at the Handshake Event and Meet and Greet, looks at you and Todo holding hands. He smiles and says, “Go ahead.” He didn’t even check for your ID.
As you set foot in the bus, you see purple mood lighting on the ceiling and hear Takada-Chan’s music playing through the speakers. The pop idol is seated at the far end in her own booth. Two security guards surround her. When she sees you and Todo, she jumps up with excitement and walks towards you. “You’re here! When I found out you were the one selected, I got so excited!” She gives you a warm hug, which you return with your free arm. Todo still has a steady hold of your hand. You expected him to let go as soon as he saw Takada-Chan, but surprisingly, his grip has not loosened one bit.
“Todo! So glad to see you here with your girlfriend!” Takada-Chan gives him a one-armed hug, which he returns silently.
You can’t help but wonder what’s going on in his head right now.
Takada-Chan leans in closer to whisper to you, “I wish you two could sit next to me, but these other fans sat there first. We’ll catch up later.” She gives you one last smile and a wink as she walks back to her seat.
You and Todo sit in the free spot closest to the entrance of the bus. It’s a bit cramped with the two of you sitting side by side. Suddenly, Todo lets go of your hand and swings it around your shoulders, pulling you in closer to his body. Maybe he thought this would be a more comfortable position.
He feels like a giant teddy bear, except he’s rippling with hard muscle. You’re so close that every time you breath, you inhale his scent. He smells like clean linen and ocean breeze. You turn your head slowly to face him, and to your surprise, his gaze is already on you.
~~~
When she turns to face him, Todo can’t help but stare down at her lips, hungrily. He wants to continue where they left off. He wants to kiss her again, taste more of her on his tongue, make her moan once more against his mouth. She’s so close to him, he can smell the intoxicating scent of the shampoo in her hair. He’s about to go feral if he doesn’t try to contain himself.
He swore to himself he wouldn’t let anybody distract him from today. But he didn’t expect to kiss his pretend girlfriend in front of all those dweebs. He also didn’t expect to like it. And boy, did he like it.
His arm is still wrapped around her, holding her close. She looks so good today, in her little purple dress. The neckline plunges just enough to tease him, leaving the rest to his imagination. Her collarbones are titillating, he wants to plant wet kisses all over, marking them as his. She wears a dainty gold necklace, giving her a look of innocence that seems to turn him on even more.
She stares at him with wide eyes. Her mouth is moving but isn’t paying attention to what she’s saying. All he can think about is how sweet her lips are. He just has to lean down a little bit closer to get a taste.
“Hey Todo, are you listening to me?” She raises her voice, which awakens him from his trance.
“Huh?”
“I asked you if you’re okay. You look out of it.” There’s genuine concern in her eyes. She’s so cute.
He smirks. “Yeah, I’m great. Are you okay?”
She smiles softly and rests her head against his chest. “Yeah, I’m good.”
Fuck fuck fuck, she’s so fucking cute.
After a while, she looks back up at him and says, “Whatever we’re doing, it’s working. Looks like those idiots aren’t even paying attention to us anymore. As long as Takada-Chan still thinks we’re a couple, we should be in the clear.”
His heart sinks. He responds with a simple hum as she lays her head back against his chest. This is all just part of their elaborate scheme to get the pop idol’s attention. It’s nothing more than an act, right?
The ride to the studio is only fifteen minutes. She spends the whole trip leaning on his body. He prays that she can’t hear or feel his heart racing in his chest. Todo glances over at Takada-Chan, who is chatting away with the fans closest to her. She looks adorable as usual, but something feels different today. Not with her, but with the way he looks at her.
Takada-Chan has always been a silly little fantasy. Now he sits here with an actual reality laying on his chest. Someone interesting, someone he respects, someone tangible.
She’s better than a dream girl like Takada-Chan. She’s real.
Todo likes her. That’s the conclusion he comes to. He doesn’t want this to be pretend anymore. He wants to hold her, kiss her, get to know her better. He wants all the aspects of being in a relationship without it all being part of an act.
He knows she might not feel the same way. She still thinks it’s all for show. Tonight, he’ll tell her how he feels. If she doesn’t feel the same way, then they’ll end this strange arrangement they have and he’ll leave her alone forever. Will it crush him? Maybe. But Todo is strong. He always bounces back. Plus, he’ll always have Takada-Chan.
He really, really hopes there’s a chance she feels the same way. He doesn’t want to go back to fantasy.
Family Formations • Part Nineteen
A/N: Request from @psychicai !!! Abt the readers relationship w the Kyoto kids
Summary: The Exchange Event, part two - reader and the Kyoto Kids.
CW: swearing, canon typical violence, mentions of gore
“Y/N!”
“HIMEEEEE!”
You shout each others names running toward each other, Utahime letting go of her girlfriend, Shoko’s hand and you Satoru’s so that you could meet in the middle of the courtyard and hug.
“I haven’t seen you in like, 2 months! I missed you so much!” She speaks.
“I missed you too! We have so much to catch up on!” You squeeze her tighter.
As she pulls away, she asks,
“So how’s your darling boy?” She asks and your heart immediately swells thinking of your little baby, now four months old.
“I’m doing really good, thanks Utahime-chan!” Satoru smiles, wrapping her in a hug to which he is quickly smacked in the chest.
“Fuck off, Gojo.”
“You’re the one who asked how I was!” He stomps.
“Honey she meant the baby.” You smile, squeezing his hand.
At the mention of Akio, Satoru’s eyes and face just light up like a carnival at dusk.
“Drinks?” You ask.
“Drinks.” Shoko agrees.
Utahime would be staying with Shoko while everyone was in town for the exchange event, which wasn’t surprising. They’d been dancing around their feelings for years, and then finally got together the night of you and Satoru’s wedding 4 years ago.
You only had tonight before meetings and gatherings for the event began, and you were gonna make the most of it.
—————————————————
“AOI TODO!”
Several bodies freeze in place.
You had been making your way across campus when sounds of a commotion had caught you attention. You’d followed the racket and you had found wreckage.
Megumi was held covered in blood, head flushing scarlet liquid, The giant of a man, Todo, the Kyoto third year was lunging forward to prepare another attack – but halted at your voice screaming his name as if it was Inumaki himself commanding it.
All heads whip around to you, and all except one cower at the edge in your voice and the rage on your face.
“Todo-san, it would be a wise move on your part to step away from my son.” Your voice echoed loud and clear and, in that moment, you had a 6ft3 bull of a young man cowering as if you were a dragon.
Nobara seemed taken aback, along with the girl you recognised as Mai Zen’in, by your eerie presence and rippling waves of fury ripping through the air around you.
Seems your reputation of possessing a blazing temper was accurate. No wonder you and Gojo-Sensei were married.
“Y/N-Sensei! I am –” Todo began, but you raised you hand to silence him.
“I absolutely do not want to hear it. I am incredibly disappointed at this display from you. Getting into a fight with a first year during the exchange event? Todo – you are a third year! Such childish behaviour.” You scolded him as if he was a toddler drawing on the wall.
“Nobara sweetie, will you run and get Satoru for me? Thank you honey.” You say, shooting her a soft smile.
“Todo. Get your ass out of here. I can’t look at you right now.” You say as you turn to kneel beside Megumi.
The Boogey Woogey user lowers his head in apparent shame and shuffles off in the direction of the Zen’in twins and their glaring showdown.
“Show me where it hurts, baby.” You pushed your son's hair from his face. You didn’t care if he was 16 now, he was still your little boy, and you’d continue patching up his wounds the same way you did from a fall off the climbing frame at 7 years old.
He lowers his head with a wince and if anyone had seen you both in this moment, they might have caught the soft way he keened at the touch and comfort of the woman who raised him – the only person he would let be this soft with him.
Okay, maybe Itadori was getting close.
You hiss pulling his hair back and seeing a gash on the pale scalp.
“This one is gonna need stitches I think, we should get you to Aunty Koko.” The way you were babying and fussing over him, even using the nickname for your best friend that Tsumiki had used when they were tiny was something he oh so secretly cherished. Not that he would ever let anyone know that, but you knew. He wasn’t that slick when it came to you.
Satoru waltzed around the corner at the moment, smile on his face – which quickly dropped as he saw you kneeling beside the bleeding teen and then he raced to sit with you both.
“Shit Megumi! Did you get in a fight with a building?!” He joked, easing the tension.
“Does Aoi Todo count as a building?” Megumi grunted out
“I’d classify him as a whole ass planet. C’mon let’s get you to Aunty Koko.” He spoke. Megumi rises to stand and quickly begins to lose his balance from the exhaustion of the fight.
You glance at Satoru who immediately crouches down a little, back to your son.
“C’mon kid, hop up.” Megumi cops on that he’s trying to give him a piggyback to the infirmary and quickly goes to shake his head and refuse – such a teenage boy, but the shaking of his head makes him wince as the blood from his spikey hair dribbles down.
He lets out a noise of protest but relents.
When he’s got his arms around Satoru’s neck, and your husband has his arms holding up the boys legs a vision, a flashback comes through your mind.
An 8-year-old Megumi, draped the exact same way, but head curled into a 21-year-old Satoru’s neck, asleep. Tsumiki was walking hand in hand with you. You’d just finished up a day at the zoo, you’d been there for hours and the kids, and you both, were exhausted.
You smiled, seeing you Megumi had grown. Well, how both your boys had.
You really had been kids raising kids, but you wouldn’t change it for the world.
——————————
Principal Yoshinobu Gakuganji.
You counted yourself as a kind person, warm and loving.
But not to him.
Never him.
Since the day you were born it seems that man has had a personal vendetta against you, along with the rest of the higher ups. He had been particularly evasive this time – presumably because of the fact that he had been plotting Yuuji’s death.
After you had ensured the kids were all okay, and safe – being treated by Shoko it was time for war.
You flung the door open to the staff room, leaving a dent in the wall from where the handle shattered the plaster.
“YOU BASTARD!” You shout.
“Miss Y/N –”
“DON’T YOU FUCKING DARE! You planned for his death! You treacherous old cretin. I knew you were a cunt, but this is another level. You used your students as weapons? To kill a child?” You shout at him, shaking in fury.
“He is not a child! He is Sukuna’s vessel! The only reason he has not yet been executed is because of you and your brat husband!”
“He is 15! He is a child! You ordered other children to kill a child! You would let them shoulder the burden of cold-blooded murder just so you can live the end of your miserable life without the burden of managing a vessel?! He’s not even your student! He’s ours!”
At this point, Satoru was dealing with the other issue – the unregistered curses who hijacked the event. He was investigating the possibility of the patch face curse’s involvement with Nanami. He’d join you later, but you had this handled.
His little angry bunny.
“I am your elder! Where is your respect?!” Gakuganji responded.
“Oh, you want respect? Wrong fucking person to ask, you slimy old fucker. You have been nothing but cruel and hateful my entire life, then you move onto the next generation? I swear to you, the next time you so much as think of harming any of these kids I will tear you limb from fucking limb and display your body to the rest of you ancient shits.”
And with that, you turn on your heel. Utahime and Yaga stared at your retreating figure.
You had no idea that all of the kids were waiting (eavesdropping) in the next room.
“Y/N. That was fucking badass.” From Maki.
“I knew you were iconic but – wow, you’re just like – the whole moment.” Nobara.
“Shake.”
“Jesus, mom that was brutal.” Megumi.
And a sheepish, if shaken Yuuji.
You giggle and walk down the hall to your office.
———————————
After about an hour of cooling down from your rage, a knock on the door sounds.
“Cmon in!”
One of the last people you’d expect came through the door.
“Y/N-Sensei. Do you have a moment?” The boy asked.
“Of course, Kamo-san. Do you want some candy?”
The boy sits and takes a few jellybeans from your jar on your desk.
He’s quiet for a minute.
You knew he had been the appointed leader of the ‘let’s kill Sukuna’s vessel’ squad.
“I’m here to apologise. For the exchange event, for everything that happened. I know that Fushiguro and the ves- Itadori are very important to you.” His head is low.
Your heart breaks.
This poor boy.
You reach across the desk and pass him another candy.
“You don’t need to apologise Kamo-san. You’re a victim in this situation too. I want to apologise to you. I’m sorry that I can’t do more to stop them, the elders. Satoru and I have been fighting them for years, on all their bullshit. I’m sorry that you and your friends are still being treated as we were in our youth – like weapons.” You smile at him, softly and sadly. The way his bangs fall – he reminds you a bit of Geto. Some of the lingering, heavy sadness he always carried on his shoulders echoes in this boy.
He chews his candy.
“How do you do it, Y/N-Sensei?” He asks, voice gravelly.
“Do what, honey?”
“All of it. The clans, the pressure, the rules, the laws – all of it.”
“Wanna know a secret?”
“Sure.”
“Sometimes, I don’t. Sometimes it all gets too much, too heavy to carry. Luckily, I have Satoru, who I can lean on. Shoko too. And your Utahime-Sensei. You have too much on your plate, too much pressure, I’m sorry Noritoshi. Here, this is my phone number – if you need anything, or if Gakuganji or anyone else gives you shit, send them my way.” You wink at him, knowing full well he’d heard this afternoon's showdown between you and his principal.
You chat for a few more minutes, about his cursed technique and how it’s improving, and you laugh about the elders some more, before Utahime calls him and it’s time for him to go.
“Thank you, Y/N-Sensei. Truly.” He says, halfway out the door.
“You’re a good kid, Kamo. Don’t let them tell you otherwise.”
A minute later a white shock of hair peeps through the door.
“There’s my princess! C’mon, whaddya say we take all the kids to McDonald’s?” Satoru says, peppering your face with kisses.
“Only if you promise to stay out of the soft play area this time, ‘toru. It was a nightmare getting your tall ass out of the slide last time.”
One Moment In A Lifetime
hhhhh okay, first BNHA fic ever, hooray! No clue what the point of this is supposed to be, though, it’s just . . . words. Just ran away from me entirely. Exploring relationship dynamics, I guess? I don’t even know. Hope you enjoy anyway!
Summary: A battle goes wrong in a way it shouldn’t have, and Shouto is not happy. What he ends up receiving, though, is something precious he never expected.
Includes hurt, regret, friendship, and platonic love and care.
(reposted)
*
Shouto usually isn’t one to lose his temper. On rare occasions, yes, when he’s been pushed way over the edge or been offered insufferable provocation or has found himself in situations he can see no clear way out of. It had turned out, amazingly, that Midoriya Izuku (face like a blushing puppy, body like a Greek statue, voice reminiscent of nothing more than a shy deer, personality of an enthusiastically fanatic nerd) was one person who could actually get him furious and throw him off balance (the determination of a piranha that’s just tasted blood, too). Apart from him, though, no single person from 1-A gets him rattled. Bakugou tries - oh, does he try - but Shouto can easily deal with such overt displays of aggressiveness.
Any tendency to back down, to waver, show weakness, has been beaten out of him long ago. Now, he looks in the mirror and is reminded of a mountain lake - still and undisturbed. That’s not a bad thing, he thinks. If nothing else, it’s certainly a safe way to go through life; unaffected by little upsets, little irritations, reserving all focus and discipline for the things that really matter.
So it comes as a surprise, to put it lightly, to find that this - this - has upset him.
“You,” he snaps, whirling around, “are a reckless idiot. What the hell did you think you were doing?”
Fire sparks in his left palm - not the best idea when facing Bakugou, but he pays that thought no mind. He won’t extinguish it. If he has to, he’ll beat Bakugou with his own element. He’d prefer to do so, in fact.
Bakugou backs down, though, looks down and away with a sullen scowl. It isn’t much of a surprise - Bakugou may be many things, but he’s not an idiot, and he never refuses to face any mistake he makes head on - but it exacerbates the itch inside Shouto, the itch to break something, burn something, create some outward manifestation of the frustration and lingering shock (not fear, he tells himself, not fear at all - and hates that he knows he’s lying) that’s burning somewhere deep in his chest.
Midoriya is crouched on the ground, wide eyes, anxious, tattered hood pushed back to hang limply down his back. “Uraraka-san, can - can you rate the pain on a scale of one to ten for me, please?”
Uraraka’s helmet is lying on the ground, pink visor smokey and splintered. One of her bracers is cracked, her belt is missing, and her boots are a maze of dirty scratches. The defect that draws the most attention, though, is the large, ragged hole in her costume on her left waist, where the skin is horribly red and blistered.
Still she smiles, as much as she is able, still she offers Bakugou no hint of resentment or anger in her clear eyes.
“M-maybe six?”
Bakugou snorts irritably, edging around Shouto with a defiant glare to crouch by Uraraka, a little away from Midoriya. He’s keeping his distance from her, Shouto realizes, aware of what he’s just done and ashamed of it, and understanding that makes him grudgingly extinguish the fire that was beginning to burn steadily in his palm.
“My explosions aren’t that weak, girl,” Bakugou growls. “They don’t burn me, but that don’t mean I ain’t aware of how much they hurt. I - “
He hesitates, glances up at Shouto, who stares back unforgivingly, and sideways at Midoriya, who still looks antsy and anxious.
“I’m sorry,” he mutters, glaring at the dirt. “I should’ve been more careful.”
“You should have looked,” Shouto says, the words clipped, “to see who exactly was in your line of fire instead of blasting away because one villain pissed you off. Both Midoriya and Uraraka were already taking care of him. Do you know what his quirk is?”
Bakugou grimaces. “No, damn you, I don’t!”
“Any object, any tool, anything remotely useful will have an effect opposite to the one intended. Since you tried to roast that guy alive when Uraraka was in the way, and she used her quirk to move him, he had the opportunity to touch her and activate his own quirk. And that means no medicine, no cooling pack, not even my ice will help with the massive second degree burn you just gave her!”
Shouto doesn’t even realize how loud his voice has become until Bakugou gets to his feet, snarling.
“I already apologized, you bastard, what the hell else do you want?! Want me to go back in time and fix it? Hah?!”
“I want you to understand exactly what you - !”
“Kacchan!”
Uraraka’s soft voice cuts through the crackling air like a knife. Both Shouto and Bakugou turn instantly, watching as Midoriya helps her struggle into a sitting position.
She smiles again, weak and painful. “It’s fine, Kacchan, it really is, I swear. I know you didn’t mean to. Thank you for apologizing. And Todoroki-kun, I appreciate your concern very much, but please don’t yell at Kacchan. It’s not -” She sucks in a breath, wincing as Midoriya’s gently probing fingers touch a particularly painful spot. She dismisses his hasty apology with a slight shake of her head, and continues, “- it’s not necessary at all.”
Shouto huffs shortly, and Bakugou jerks his head away, scowling at the ground. “Whatever. I’m going to go check that the last of the fires are out.”
Midoriya looks up at that. “Kacchan, don’t forget to check on the guy with the knife quirk! I don’t think he’ll be able to cut through the rope, I don’t think they can reach his wrists from his fingers, but just make sure - “
“Shut the fuck up, Deku, I know!” Bakugou gets to his feet, hand brushing across Uraraka’s shoulder for a brief, hesitant moment, cheeks dusted light red as he does so. “I’ll check on all those assholes, you don’t have to nag me.”
He gives Shouto a glare, and Shouto gives him a cool look in return, but steps aside to make way for him. Bakugou understands, and he regrets it, and that’s enough for Shouto. For now, at least. Later, he will talk to Bakugou and demand to know what had him distracted, what had him riled up, because it’s not the first time he’s been careless like this. It’s been happening for more than a week now, and if he doesn’t get it together, they may not be permitted to work together anymore, as rookie heroes. He needs to tell Shouto what’s wrong, or he can tell Midoriya, or just anyone, but it needs to be worked out before anyone gets hurt again - including Bakugou himself.
That it’s I’ll-Crush-You-And-Any-Dreams-You-Ever-Had-Bakugou that this is happening to, of all people, is, of course, a minor consideration, no matter how worrying it is. Shouto is good at leaving personal desires out of the picture, focusing only on the final goal to be achieved.
He learned that a long time ago, too.
Freezing Bakugou into the world’s most bizarre popsicle until he agrees to talk to (to confide in) Shouto can wait until later, though. Right now -
He kneels where Bakugou had crouched, not sure if Uraraka will be uncomfortable with the idea of being around him, his fire, especially when it’s the reason that the buildings around them, in this part of the abandoned town, are scorched and soot-streaked.
“We need to get you help,” Midoriya says, all wide and earnest eyes. “Will you be okay while one of us goes, Uraraka-san?”
The corner of her mouth quirks up vaguely - it’s all she can summon of her earlier smile.
“Of course, Deku, I’ll be fine. It’s really not - as bad as it -”
Shouto reaches out without thinking, to steady her as she sways, but his touch is, of course, unneeded. Midoriya already has one strong arm around her shoulders, keeping her upright, silently urging her to lean back against the rough block of concrete that is part of a fallen pillar. Shouto doesn’t remove his hand from her arm, though. Useless as the gesture may be, it makes him feel like he’s helping somehow, providing her with some modicum of support and comfort, that he’s not entirely useless in the situation. And it - gives him some small measure of comfort.
“You’re exhausted,” he says. “You were fighting longer than we were, and using your quirk almost constantly. The burn is the worst of it, but that’s not all that needs attention. We need medical professionals, or at least transport to a medical facility.”
Uraraka makes a soft sound that’s something between a snort and a laugh, one hand brushing against her useless phone. “And we just had to run into someone with a quirk that disables electrical devices today, didn’t we . . .”
“I could carry you,” Midoriya offers. “We could be at the next town in ten minutes.”
Uraraka shakes her head weakly, brown hair limp over her eyes. “Already - nauseous from Zero Gravity. I - thank you for offering but - bounding up and down like that - “
“Right, of course,” Midoriya says instantly, forehead creasing with worry. “Then, Todoroki-kun? Is your quirk - ?”
“It’s possible, yes, I can do it. But it would be slower, it would also exacerbate the nausea, and I don’t want to take the risk of my ice worsening your injury. If even the slightest bit comes into contact, I think it would feel like - like fire, probably - “
Uraraka shrinks back at that, just a little bit.
Shouto forces himself not to clench his fist, and continues, “And anyway you’re not supposed to apply ice to burns.”
Midoriya exhales, short and sharp. “Okay. Okay, okay, then I’ll go, I’ll get them, since I’ll be faster. I’ll be back as soon as I can, okay? Todoroki-kun, you’ll stay with - ?”
“Of course,” Shouto says before he even finishes the sentence. Of course, because where the hell else would he be?
Midoriya nods and is in the air almost before Shouto can blink. The thuds of his jumps are loud, concussive, and fading rapidly. They only hear three before he’s outside their range of hearing.*
Uraaka slowly lets her head fall back, her breathing going shallow and her features scrunching up in a way that implies that she’s been trying far too hard for far too long to seem calm and composed, and has just allowed herself to break. To stop.
It hurts, in a dull kind of way, because this is someone bright and kind and good, someone Shouto has fought beside too many times to count, has trusted with his life and been trusted with hers in return, someone who is comrade and friend and just - just dear to him, he realizes, she is dear to him in a way few people are. A bond forged in battle is no easy thing to replicate. And so seeing her like this, in pain, and being unable to help feels like something is squeezing his heart, compressing it until every heartbeat is a subdued ache.
But there’s nothing he can do, so he keeps his hand on her shoulder and resigns himself to feeling jittery and uncomfortable as he waits for Midoriya to return.
There are flakes of ash floating by, the air horribly still. Stifling. The only sounds are distant crashes of rubble that’s decided to fall only now, and the faint grunts of the trussed up villains. Bakugou, Shouto can’t hear at all (for once). He’s executing his mission in unnatural silence. Shouto hopes, vaguely, tiredly, as exhaustion sweeps over him in a wave, that he hasn’t run into any trouble - or killed the guy who’d irritated him so much in the first place. That’s an odd quirk, to be sure . . . it seems ridiculous, frustrating, but are there . . . possible uses?
Shouto’s eyes snap open.
“Uraraka,” he says, softly, urgently.
She levers her own eyes open and blinks at him blearily.
“If my ice would burn you - would my fire cool you?”
Her mouth opens a little, shock sharpening the features of her face.
“I - it - it might? But . . .” She frowns a bit, getting that look of furious focus that only appears when she’s trying desperately to think. “But ice isn’t good for burns, so would it - how would it - ”
“I don’t know,” he tells her, left hand already itching to be set ablaze. “Would you - like to try?”
Her eyes flick up to meet his, and he catches a glimpse of dark fear in them before she forces it back, swallowing.
“If you don’t want to -” he says immediately. He doesn’t want to pressure her in any way.
But she shakes her head weakly, biting her lip. “I think - m-maybe we should. It- “ Her voice breaks on a rising sob. “It really hurts, Todoroki-kun.”
“Okay,” he murmurs, trying to sound as soothing as he can. “We’ll do that, then. If you feel the slightest pain, anything at all, tell me immediately and we’ll stop, yes? We’re going to take this slow.”
Uraraka nods, pushing herself upright. Shouto allows one small flame to kindle at the tip of one finger, holding it like it’s a baby bird.
“Ready?”
She nods again, eyes screwed shut. He moves it towards her side carefully, the sight of the red-gold light against her burned, angry-looking skin making him wince. But he presses on, moving closer, closer, until he’s less than an inch away, and she should definitely be feeling some heat now, even if nerves have been damaged. But she says nothing.
“Feel anything?”
She shakes her head, relaxing a little. “No heat, but there’s like - a cool breeze?” Her eyes fall open. “I think you were right, Todoroki-kun.”
He moves closer, gingerly, until it’s almost licking at her side. “Now? Is it too cold?”
“N-no, it’s - good. It’s - ohh -” She almost shudders in relief when he allows it to press against her entirely. “It’s like cool water, it’s perfect.”
Shouto sighs quietly. “Good.”
He allows the flames to envelop his hand entirely and, very carefully, lays it flat against the burn. He can feel her skin even through the fire licking at the underside of his palm, rough and puckered and blistered, and his mouth twists without him meaning to.
“Todoroki-kun, could you - here?” She points, and he moves his hand accordingly, thinking about how if he had Kendo’s quirk in addition to his own he could just enlarge his hand to cool the entire affected area. But he doesn’t, and he can’t, and so he ends up absently stroking the entire burn in controlled sweeps, taking care not to get too close to the cloth of her costume because he has no clue as to whether the villain’s quirk extends to the clothes of the affected person as well.
It’s - weird. Once the buzz of his shock and anger has worn off, now that he’s doing something useful, helpful, it’s just odd. The whole situation is odd, kneeling on ashy ground in the middle of a ruined town, stroking a teammate’s burn with a hand on fire. And it’s even weirder that he’s doing this for Uraraka, of all people, because he might not be the most attentive person when it comes to social relationships, but everyone who had been in their class knows that there’s something between Midoriya and Uraraka, something tentative and nebulous and undefined that the two of them are too embarrassed to address; something that lasted through all the years since UA till now. And so if anyone should be - uh, touching (petting, Shouto thinks, and shudders slightly, shaking the uncomfortable thought out of his head) - Uraraka’s waist like this, it should most definitely not be Shouto.
But . . . it’s Uraraka. And since it’s Uraraka (as adept at defusing uncomfortable situations, with soothing words and just the right gestures, as she sometimes is at creating them, with nervous chatter and flustered hands) the smile she gives him and the way she relaxes, peacefully, ensures that he settles down to his task soon enough, the repetitive motion soothing away the chaos of battle still churning in his mind surprisingly effectively.
It’s one moment in a lifetime, one incident among hundreds that Shouto will experience in a lifetime as a pro hero. Yet later, when he’s older and more battle-scarred, when the white has started encroaching onto the red half of his hair, it’s that moment he thinks of when he thinks of tranquility, stillness, peace - Uraraka with her eyes closed, head tipped back against cracked concrete, the rise and fall of her chest gentle and steady (when before it had been harsh, stuttering) because his hand on her waist, his flames, are washing her pain away, keeping it at bay. It’s that atmosphere that he remembers, smokey and heavy and silent but - quiet, and comforting, as the adrenaline in his blood slows to a halt and his whirling thoughts slow and settle around a centre of silence.
It’s a feeling he will only be privileged to experience a few times in his life, that feeling of true peace. And he will never tell anyone, but to himself, Shouto can admit that the reason he watches Uraraka’s back more carefully in fights after that, the reason he listens to her worry about how Midoriya might never like her back, the reason he helps her make horrible Valentine’s Day chocolate and trains with her more and reads the books she recommends and -
- and becomes something of a best friend -
- is that he’s grateful to her for giving him that, that single, precious period of peace.
Even if is just - one moment in a lifetime.
— ITADORI YUJI + FUSHIGURO MEGUMI + GOJO SATORU + NANAMI KENTO || CELEBRATING THEIR S/O’S BIRTHDAY
↳ featuring : itadori yuji + fushiguro megumi + gojo satoru + nanami kento from jujutsu kaisen
↳ warnings : grammar issues
↳ form : headcanons
↳ published : 30 january
↳ pronouns : non specified in headcanon
↳ request : Hi! I'm so happy to see you're accepting requests again! I really love reading your work, it helps me de-stress ^_^ Could I request headcanons for s/o's birthday celebration with gojo, nanami, itadori, and fushiguro? (Like who'd be the type to throw a surprise party, schedule a date or a little trip, and what kind of gift would they give, etc. Anything about how they would celebrate their s/o's birthday) Thank you and I hope you have a great day <3
↳ barista’s notes : so....i’m not ready for the manga at all guys, like it is going to be updated in a good 36 hours but like i don’t think i can ever prepare myself at all...i...am...terrified .... ʕ ゚ ● ゚ʔ BUT other than that, i hope you enjoy your cup of classic black coffee (jujutsu kaisen request!) and come again soon ╲ʕ·ᴥ· ╲ʔ
Itadori is the type to have a surprise party for you since he thinks that having your birthday with your friends and loved ones is the best way to celebrate.
Of course, he has to convince a few people since it can’t just be him by himself celebrating the surprise.
To be honest, it wasn’t hard to convince Fushiguro, Kugisaki, Gojo and Todo because it’s them. The second-years wouldn’t take much either since you are their friend. But, Nanami took a while to open up with the idea since Nanami isn’t the type to outwardly celebrate things like Itadori does.
Everyone helps with the decorations and setting up everything while Itadori is the one that is cooking the food with Fushiguro - because cooking buddies~
I like to think that Itadori can bake since he can cook - so he does make your cake for you.
Please just know that Kugisaki is taking charge of decorations because it’s just her forte.
Since he probably was away for the whole day preparing the surprise for you, you would probably be walking around the school trying to find him, only for your other classmates Fushiguro and Kugisaki to appear right in front of your face.
They will probably blindfold you with no explanation with Kugisaki dragging you by the arms while Fushiguro holds your back to make sure you don’t bump into anything at all.
When your blindfold is taken off, expect to be in a dark room with everyone right in front of you while itadori is holding a cake right in front of you as they sing ‘happy birthday’.
After the whole song and you blowing out the candles, the lights will suddenly turn on and BAM we got a game night tournament of Mario Kart insight.
A whole whiteboard is prepared to see who is versing who with drinks and more snacks prepared for the night.
At the end of the night, Itadori will mostly likely give you a plush that you’ve been looking at since a mission that you both went on - he took a photo because he knows he will forget about it.
Overall, it’s a pretty energetic night you will spend with everyone as they are hyped up to win the whole game night, but the fact that you got to celebrate with your boyfriend and your friends is the main point here.
Unlike Itadori, Fushiguro would want to celebrate your birthday with just both of you alone together.
Fushiguro will probably plan out a whole date for you and will probably make something for you rather than buying something - maybe he will add a bouquet of flowers.
In the morning (if he can cook), Fushiguro will cook breakfast for you and if you are still in bed after he has finished, expect breakfast in bed because he wants to make the day perfect for you.
When it comes to your birthday, it really depends on what season it is in when he plans something.
If it’s during the spring/summer season, he will take you to the park to have a picnic together since it's a time where it’s not too warm but not too cold (depends on the day) - so it’s a perfect balance.
If it’s during the autumn/winter, he will take you somewhere warm like a cafe or go view the Christmas lights since a lot of warm street food will be prepared and that’s the best time to eat as much as you want.
After a peaceful day out, he would give you his gift when you get back to his dorm - it will be personal and it’s probably handmade like an embroidered jumper or knitted scarf, so cherish it.
And if other students have given you a gift, he would hand his last since he’s a bit shy after seeing everyone else’s gifts they have handed you.
The day before, he had prepared your favourite cake from the closest bakery and it will be a small one since it’s just you and him together - he will turn off the lights to make the candles glow your face.
Just know he is secretly taking pictures and a few videos since you have a bright smile on your face since who wouldn’t smile? Your smile is his favourite thing about you.
Overall, your birthday is a personal one with Fushiguro, it’s something that he wants to make perfect and make you the happiest since it is your special day.
Gojo will make sure everyone knows it is your birthday - and I mean EVERYONE, even people from the Kyoto side of Jujutsu Tech.
Of course, he would inform the first years - Fushiguro probably already knows your birthday - and Itadori and Kugisaki will be surprised since this was such a late notice for them to get you anything.
A week or month before your birthday, Gojo will have spent so much money on gifts on you without your realising since he is somehow got at hiding things away from you - since he can disappear and appear in a span of one second.
A few days prior to your birthday, you would find gifts being left around your dorm with random notes attached to them with cute drawings on them.
Let me admit, some of the gifts will be joke gifts like a pregnancy test - hints - or his glasses, and he will come up behind you and say “oh that’s where they were, thank you, baby~.”
Of course, when the gifts are proper gifts, they are fancy as hell since Gojo doesn’t have a budget when it comes to you - he wants to spoil you rotten.
When it comes to your actual birthday, Gojo will be glued to your side since he wants to spend the whole day with you celebrating.
Gojo will be extra affectionate then he would usually be. In the morning, he wants morning cuddles and you’ll probably begin the day with a whole makeout and in the afternoon, he will wrap his arms around your shoulders while whispering sweet nothings to you while giving you a few pecks here and there.
He will take you out to so many dessert places to the point where you get a tiny bit sugar sick but he will also invite the first year to have lunch with you since he knows how much you love them.
When it comes to your cake and candle blowing, except Gojo to wipe some of the whipped cream on your face because he is just a tease and will lick it off of you - disgustingly cute.
Overall, Gojo will be sickly sweet and teasing towards you during your birthday and prior to that, he just wants you to be excited since it is rare that you both get to spend time together during a special occasion like this and he just wants you to be in complete bliss.
Like Fushiguro, Nanami is someone that will want to celebrate your birthday peacefully and with only you and him together.
I know Nanami is more of the classy type and will probably book a reservation to your favourite fancy restaurant since this is one of the only times where you can enjoy your favourite meal there.
Gift wise, Nanami will make sure it is something special and elegant since he wants to give you something memorable since the life of a sorcerer is unpredictable.
Probably a matching watch with his, maybe a simple silver band ring or a bracelet - it is scary how the gift fits really well on you like it’s not too loose or too tight. Nanami has the eyes for detail.
However, if he gives you a necklace just know he will put it on for you - and if you feel him touch you anywhere on your neck, I bet you would shiver~
When you get to the restaurant, just know that you and Nanami are dressed to the nines - like damn, don’t you both look good?
Candlelit dinner, glasses of red wine, delicious food and a handsome man right in front of you, what more do you want?
When it comes to the end of your dinner, he would have already asked the restaurant for the cake and they will hand it to you with the silver globe and everything - most likely a sweet chocolate cake with strawberries.
When you get home, Nanami will be somewhat more affectionate and will give you a few deep breathless kisses here and there while cuddling you when you and him are on the couch/sofa - you on his lap of course
When though you both went out it’s nice to be at home with just you and him leading to a deep conversation about the future, a family, vacation, wedding and many other things.
Overall, your birthday with Nanami with is soothing and calm, there is a hint of suggestiveness due to the setting but in reason, he wants you to be the main focus since it is the anniversary of the day you were born and he can’t but appreciate you.
marriage headcanons || oscar diaz
alright so i’m posting this from my phone bc rn i don’t have wifi and my laptop is so slow on hotspot. i’ll come back and fix the format when i can! also i started writing this before season 3 came out and i just finished it rn. it’s not my favorite but i wanted to get some cute content out after that ending😅 this does get slightly NSFW towards the end, nothing crazy but proceed with caution lmao
listen to todo cambio by camila to set the mood🥺
————
Marrying Oscar Diaz would include...
- I feel like ruby would definitely try and be part of the planning process. He’d have a whole ass binder full of ideas for cakes, dresses, colors schemes, etc etc.
- He’d go with you when you look for a wedding dress and give his honest opinion on each dress.
- “Mm, I like it, but I don’t like it on you. It’s not your style.”
- “Okay, I like the lace, I’m not liking the long train though.”
- he’d be more of a bridezilla than you
- but you’d appreciate it and find it rather endearing
- he’d just want you to look and feel beautiful on your wedding day and you’d love him for that
- It’d go on like that for quite some time before you finally say yes to the dress
- Monse would be one of your bridesmaids.
- There’d be an age difference between you two, her being a teenager and you being a grown woman lmao, but you two would’ve gotten close since you’re both dating brothers.
- She’d almost look at you like a mother figure, or an older sister
- She’d come to you whenever she’d have problems with Cesar, she’d ask how you deal with being with Oscar, someone who lives such a dangerous life everyday.
- “I knew what I was getting into when I started talking to him. In no way did I think that our lives would be a fairytale. It’s been far from that. We fight. We argue. I fucking hate him sometimes. But, more than anything I love him. He’s my best friend. You and Cesar are young, you still have so much to learn, to go through - when I’m with Oscar, I feel the safest. I feel like nothing can touch me, because he doesn’t let that happen.”
- So, you feel that it’s only right that she’s one of your bridesmaids.
- Cesar is Oscar’s best man.
- No matter what they’ve gone through, they’re still brothers and they love each other.
- I’m torn though
- I can imagine you and Oscar having a church wedding
- bUT
- A BEACH WEDDING
- I feel like it would be Oscar’s idea to have a beach wedding - the beach would hold lots of meaning and significance to you and your relationship
- It’s where you went on your first date
- Where he proposed
- Where you’d go to get away from all the bullshit in Freeridge
- It’s a place where you could be alone together
- A nice beach wedding would be beautiful. special
- The weather would be nice - not too hot, not too cold. It’d be perfect
- You and Oscar would say your own vows
- “I’ve never really been good with words. Talking about my feelings, it’s something that I’m not used to. But with you, I want you to know how much I love you. The moment that I met, I think I already knew that you were the one that I wanted to marry, the woman that I want to be the mother of my children. You never turned your back on me. You set me straight, kept me sane. You protected Cesar when I couldn’t, you loved him and never looked at him like he was a burden. getting married, having a family of my own is something that I’ve always wanted, but something that I never thought would be possible. Who would want to be with someone like me? But then you came along and changed everything. It’s me and you, mamas. Me and you, forever. I love you. You were my girlfriend, my fiancé, and now I finally get to call you my wife. Mi esposa.”
- You’d be crying by the end of that lmao barely able to get through your own vows.
- “When we met, Oscar, when we first started going out - I’ll admit, I was actually kind of afraid. I knew what I was getting myself into but still, I still had some fear. Not of you, but of the life. Little did I know that my entire would was about to change for the better. We’ve been through a lot. So much. Too much. We’ve laughed and cried. Fought and argued. We’ve almost broken up a few times. But I’ve never felt more safer or more loved, than when I’m with you. When I’m with you, everything feels.. right. Like.. you’re my person. I can’t imagine myself marrying anyone else. Or starting a family with anyone else. You’re it. I love you. All of you. The good. The bad. Everything. I’m ready to be Mrs. Diaz. I’m ready to be your wife and spend forever with you.”
- Nothing, and I mean nothing, would top the fucking happiness you’d feel when you’re finally married, when Oscar finally gets to kiss you as your husband, you as his wife
- The reception would actually be at his house I feel. He and the other Santos would’ve cleaned out the backyard, made it look more spacious and clean, so you could decorate it to your liking
- It wouldn’t be too big, but it would still be a party
- Oscar would be fucking happy - he’d be smiling, laughing, drinking. He wouldn’t be his usual angry, tense self
- You two would have your first dance to Todo Cambio by Camila (that song is so cute listen to it while reading this y’all)
- “We’re finally married, bebe.” “I know. It’s fucking crazy. I’m not your girlfriend anymore. I’m your esposa.” And it’d finally hit you right then and there that you and Oscar were finally married. Husband and wife
- when you cut the cake, you’d both smush cake in each other’s faces bc you play too much lmao
- “you still got some on your mouth and cheek.” “wanna come closer and lick it off?”
- to which you’d promptly scoop some more frosting on your finger and get him in the nose
- “nah.”
- “damn, like that?”
- When you throw your bouquet, Jasmine would catch it. She’d about wrestle all the other women to catch it lmao
- You’d also have a dance with Cesar and it’d be super soft
- “I’m officially your sister now.” “You’ve always been like a sister to me. Like a mom, actually. I’m happy Oscar has you. He’s.. better. You’re good for him.” “I’ll always be here for you, too, Cesar. I love you, okay? Whatever you need, anytime, any day, I’m there.”
- okay so,,,
- the sex with you and oscar that night would so good
- i mean it’d always be good
- that man ain’t lacking in between the sheets lmao
- but the night of your wedding, when you’re finally alone
- SHIT WOULD GO DOWN
- it’d be hot and passionate. steamy and sexy. knowing you were his wife would get oscar all riled up. knowing it’d be you he’d get to wake up to for the rest of his life
- and i mean seeing you in your wedding dress would’ve done things to him lmao
- but being the one to get you out of it at the end of the night? y’all ain’t sleepin hunny
- all in all, your marriage with Oscar isn’t perfect, no marriage is, but you two are happy and in love and that’s what matters. Oscar has never been happier than with you by his side. As long as you have each other, your family, you’re good.
S/O is hurt but is still trying to be a good wife around the house to make the best of the situation and hide her insecurities. It’s just an idea, if it does not inspire you I hope you will find something better!! xx
a/n: (Submission 1/3 for my post asking for todo angst ideas! Thanks for the ask anon!)
Um. This is...depressing. Really depressing and really intense. I didn’t expect it would turn out this way. But it did. I had 2 other endings, but I instinctively wrote this one. I actually had to stop and cry for a few minutes because it was just really painful I mean, I know I said I was ready to but I didn’t actually mEAn it
I tried a different style for this, but I think it suits the story well. It’s 3rd person limited because I wanted you to experience everyone’s feelings in this (gotta maximize on the angst yknow) and half past tense bc of reasons you’ll find out.
God I’m afraid to post this. Is it bad that I love it, I honestly spent so much time writing this, but it hurts sO mUch?? Y’all are gonna hate me, you’re gonna kill me, oh no, just read the thing already, I’m hiding.
Buy me a coffee?
Shoto didn't know how to react to the news. It's not that he had his eye on anyone in particular, or that he was even interested in marriage for that matter. But because he proposed it, the man who had spent his entire childhood controlling every aspect of his life, he refused to accept any other intrusions from the man he should call "father."
The strange man across from his father spoke those words so casually. "So Endeavor, when are these two tying the knot?"
At first, he thought he had misheard or misunderstood. And then his father responded just as casually, "The date is set for next month."
The normally calm and collected boy almost burst the entire room into flames. He clenched the silverware so hard his knuckles turned white and his teeth ground together, but he couldn't say anything in front of his father's guest and his daughter for fear of shaming himself. The girl across from him offered a sympathetic look, but he turned away, already preparing the earful he's going to give his father.
-
"I want nothing to do with this!" he whirled on Endeavor as soon as they were home. "You've made my life a living hell controlling every single thing! And now you even want to control my marriage?!"
"I'm doing this for you!" Endeavor bellowed right back. "For the Todoroki name! For your future!"
"This is all for you! I want no part-!"
"If you don't agree, you'll never see your mother or the siblings again."
The calm threat was enough to drench Shoto's wrath into submissive fear. The flaming monster in front of him proved once again that he hasn't an ounce of sympathy for his blood. He's learned that family is the only thing keeping his son under his thumb and he still actively exploits that weakness.
All the boy can do is swallow and walk away, retreating to the outside world to escape his bitter reality even temporarily. Shoto doesn't have outbursts often, but there are times when the straw finally breaks the camel's back, and this is one of them. All he can do is run until he can't run anymore, reaching somewhere secluded enough where he can burst out in flames and ice without hurting anyone, finally getting to a forest where he can do exactly that and scream to his heart's content. It's the only thing he can do that is under his own control.
In the month that followed up to the wedding, Shoto barely spoke a word to anyone, choosing to isolate himself. He only came out when he absolutely had to show his face at functions to the bride's family and look presentable. His mind was always absent, the time flying in a blur of colors and white. Thankfully, his father did the preparations, so all he had to do was go along with everything. Shoto was simply playing a role in a play or movie, he was an actor who deserved an award for being in character for a month.
The night of the wedding, he and his newly-wedded wife were whisked away to their new home, being alone for the first time together. He didn't even know what she looked like nor did he care. As soon as they walked through the door of their already-furnished house, he released a heavy breath, brushed past her, unbuttoned his tuxedo, and - cold as his ice quirk - instructed, "I'm going to bed. Don't come up tonight." It was the first time he had ever spoken directly to her.
His wife, through this entire ordeal, was patient with him. She didn't want this arrangement either, but she figured they could at least talk and come to a mutual agreement. The entire month, she never pushed him to speak to her. She anticipated that he would be rational about this, as she was told by her family, and that they would be able to talk things over when they were finally alone. Just as she was going to speak her mind the way she had rehearsed it many times, he dismissed her. She was hurt, but she understood. He's exhausted after a whole month of stress and preparations, she rationalized, He just wants to rest. I wouldn't want to talk to a stranger after all that either.
Resolving to try again tomorrow morning, she undressed (with great difficulty), crept into the master bedroom for her clothes while Shoto showers, retrieved her pajamas quietly, and retreated back to the living room. The girl searched all the closets for a thick enough blanket and settles down to sleep on a couch, the exhaustion putting her right to sleep.
The next morning, the new Mrs. Todoroki woke up bright and early to make breakfast for her husband as an olive branch. She toiled away in the kitchen, somewhat making a racket even though she wanted to stay quiet so Shoto can sleep. Just as she finished setting the table and had to face the question of how to wake him, the boy padded down from the room.
"Oh, morning!" she smiled brightly at him.
He murmured a greeting back only to be polite, his face devoid of any real emotions other than coldness. He sat as far away from her a possible, thanking her for the meal halfheartedly and digging in without another word.
After waiting a few moments to let him satisfy his hunger, she cleared her throat. "So, um-"
"Your tamagoyaki needs more soy sauce and butter," he stated bluntly.
She blinked at the harsh comment. It was shocking he said anything to her at all, and the first thing he said was an insult.
"And the miso has no flavor," he continued in the same tone.
The girl finally gathered her wits. "I'll do better tomorrow. Thanks for the feedback, I guess?" she laughed nervously, trying to erase the immense tension Shoto bled into the atmosphere. When he didn't respond, she tried again. "I know this isn't something either of us wanted, but that doesn't mean we have to live here like enemies. We could be friends, or even just roommates!"
"I'd rather be strangers," he interjected harshly.
It felt like a stab in the heart. Here she was, trying to make their lives somewhat bearable together through their common misfortune, and all he wanted to do was live like ghosts in the same house.
Shoto placed his chopsticks down firmly, glaring her straight in the eyes with the iciest hatred she's ever seen. "Just to be clear, I want no part of you. You live your life and I live mine. You can have the bedroom to sleep at night if you want, but it's mine when I come home to shower and prepare for bed. We will not sleep, talk, or breathe near each other as long as we are in this house."
She dipped her head in defeat, unable to bear the weight of his stare. "C-Can we at least have our meals together?" she asked feebly.
It's something he respected, coming from family values no matter how broken. It's the only exception he made to their less-than relationship.
Months passed and she kept her end of the bargain through a suffocating routine. At first, the girl was kind, trying to get him to open up to her somehow without overstepping her boundaries. She made excuses for him constantly. He's just tired. The least I can do is leave him alone. I can't comfort him anyway, I'm a stranger. He's still upset about the whole thing, he'll come around. She even begged her boss to let her leave a little early every day to make sure she had ample amount of time to get home, shower, and prepare dinner before Shoto returned. When he did, he wordlessly showered, sat down to dinner, nitpicked at her cooking, finished eating, and went to sleep on the living room couch, all without even sparing her a glance.
But as every day passed, she grew more weary and worn in her efforts to please him. She tried to fix every little complaint Shoto had about her cooking or the cleanliness of the house or the laundry, but nothing seemed to satisfy him. She tried to hold onto the silver lining. At least he never touched me wrong or took advantage of me, she would think bitterly. He has the decency not to take his anger out on me.
Then the dark thoughts closed in as he continued ignoring her. Surely, Shoto's only disgusted with his father, he doesn't harbor hatred for her personally. Then she would remember the hate and disgust in his mismatched eyes the first day of their marriage. She realized no matter how desperately she tried, he wouldn't show her any signs of warmth or appreciation. No more did she try to make conversation with him during meals or greet him when he came home. There were days she thought, Why should I even try? He wouldn't like it either way. What's the point of getting up today? Maybe he'll even criticize how I sleep. But she still rose out of bed every morning and carried out her routine because it could always be worse.
A sliver of hope came in the form of Shoto's birthday. The girl figured if she did something just a little special, he would acknowledge her even the tiniest bit. She spent days beforehand researching and testing out the perfect cold soba recipe because she knew it was his favorite. She lit some candles on the table and bought a small cake for them to share.
When he came home, she was sure he would notice and say something, but he didn't; he went straight up to the bathroom as he usually did without a word. Though she felt the glimmer lessen in her heart, she didn't give up. For the first time in a while, she verbalized her thoughts to him.
"I made your favorite for your birthday!" she chirped as he sat down, setting the plate and a cup of dipping sauce in front of him. She was so eager for him to try it because she was confident she'd gotten it right this time. If she were a dog, her tail would've wagged in anticipation as he slurped the noodles into his mouth. She waited patiently for his feedback, leaning forward in excitement as he swallowed.
"The noodles are slightly overcooked. And the dipping sauce is too strong, you didn't add enough water."
Her hopes came crashing to a halt. She couldn't even muster anything else to say as he hastily finished his dinner and rose to leave.
She stood up, heart hammering in her chest. "What about the cake?" Anything, something!
"I don't want it." He turned his back to her.
"I got it for you!" It was the first time she explicitly stated her intentions, the first time she made herself vulnerable.
"You shouldn't have gotten it at all. It was a waste of time. Why did you even try?" The calm and cold words stung her as he got up and left her in the dining room alone.
His words echoed against the empty walls of the dining room. She looked down at the cake he disregarded, feeling cold and dizzy. She took a shaky breath in and out before resting her head on the cold glass table to stabilize herself. The voice stabs through her even as she closed her eyes to block them out.
It was then she felt bluntly in her mind. He hates me.
-
The girl feels nothing but numbing cold, both on her face and inside. Rolling up to sit, her neck and back cry out in soreness from sleeping on the table, pale light greeting her from the nearby window. Her face feels strange, and she trudges to the bathroom mirror to check why. She knows she should be preparing for work, but what's the point? Her reflection reveals lines across her cheek, probably from sleeping on the edge of the table. She shuffles to the kitchen because she should probably start breakfast, but why should she? Leaning against the counter, she can't bring herself to move anywhere. Her brain buffers as she tries to force herself to think of what to do now. She doesn't feel sick, but there's a dull, cool feeling in her limbs that she can't face.
The phone rings, catching her off guard. Glancing at the number, she doesn't hesitate to answer. "Hello?"
"Hi, baby. It's me."
Her eyebrows relax, appreciating the sound of a familiar voice. "Hey, Mom. What's up?" She knows her voice sounds weak, she's hoping the woman can't hear it.
"I'm just checking in, you haven't called in a while. Is something up? You don't sound good."
"I'm...fine," she stumbles over the word. "How's dad?"
"He's doing well. You sure you're not sick, sweetie?"
"I'm not." She leans her back on the counter.
"Is Shoto there? How is he?"
And just like that, she feels something dislodge in her throat. "He's going to work, he probably left early." She doesn't know, there hasn't been any rustling in the house.
Her mom is silent for a while. "Tell me the truth. What happened?"
The sound of her mother's stern voice moves something in her chest. "It's nothing, I just made a mistake."
"Doing what?"
"I tried making Shoto's favorite dish for his birthday yesterday. I put so much time and energy into perfecting it for him to enjoy it, but I fell short again." She laughs bitterly, tears starting to fill her eyes. "He didn't even want the cake I got for him, he said it was a waste. I shouldn't have bothered with it." She blinks and a tear slides down her face. "I don't know why I was expecting something different to happen, I'm so stupid."
"Honey, where is this coming from? What's going on?"
She wipes her face, but more spill out of her eyes as she slides down the cabinet onto the cold floor. "It's just a little frustrating when you're sharing a house with someone you're married to and they barely acknowledge you. I mean, I expected there to be problems at first given the circumstances, but I didn't expect this." Her voice shakes with every word. "God, what did I do to deserve this? I've lived in this house for 5 months, and never has he even said 'thank you' to me. Hasn't breathed a word of appreciation to me. I do so much for him. I've bent over backwards for him just to make everything done the way he wants it, I've worked my entire routine, my entire life in this house to cater to him, but all he does is complain!" She sobs into the phone, curling up into a ball as tremors wrack through her body. "I'm just so tired. I don't know how much more I can take. I've made so many excuses for him, but I just can't do anything right. Why am I even still here?"
Her mother is silent on the other line. "My baby, if I knew this would happen, I wouldn't have allowed this marriage. I can't believe you're going through this."
The girl can't formulate words or think anything coherent. She drops the phone out of her hand, wrapping her legs to her chest as the tremors continue in waves, muffled whimpers the only thing escaping her lips because she's afraid to cry out loud despite being in an empty, lonely house.
-
Shoto heard something he probably shouldn't have, but he definitely needed to hear. It bothered him for the rest of the day. It was a sobering slap in the face that made him feel shame and regret, a hard-to-swallow pill that sat in his stomach the entire day.
On his way back home, the sound of her sobs echoes in his mind. He curses his behavior from the past few months. At the very least, he made a lady cry, and at the most, he's been a complete asshole. It's all his fault, that is something he's completely aware of and is ready to take full responsibility for. All this time, he was stupidly neglecting her out of spite for his father, but he broke her in the process. He's angry that he had to hear her crying to realize that. The only thing he can do now is hurry home to profusely apologize for what he's done and hope they can start over new and she forgives him, which he's prepared for her not to do.
Honestly, he deserves all the hate from her that he's shown her. After everything she's done for him and all the effort she's put into their imbalanced relationship, he wouldn't be surprised if she yelled at him and called him all sorts of names.
Shoto walks through the door, the atmosphere different. The house is quiet as usual, but it's more eerie than he remembers, as if that means anything with how aloof he was. He slips into the bedroom and changes quickly, returning back to the quiet dining room where his dinner waits for him at his place.
He tentatively sits and spares a quick glance at the girl who's supposed to be his wife. Her eyes are still puffy and she's tugging at her sleeves. It seems she's avoiding him and he was avoiding her before. He questions how things should start. When is the right time to speak his piece. Would she listen to him now? He decides to take a bite first and chews slowly. I guess a 'thank you' is a good place to start-
"We're getting a divorce."
He stops suddenly, almost choking.
"You don't owe me anything, and I don't want anything from you." She isn't looking at him, voice calm and collected. "Besides, it's better this way since it's what you wanted." She rises from her seat smoothly. "I've already packed for the next few nights. I'll have some workers come in the following weeks to clear out the rest, and the papers will be delivered promptly." Her footsteps recede from the room.
Shoto turns around to call out to her, and his minds comes up blank.
He never even bothered to remember her name.
AU Targaryen: Best destinations for the children of Jaehaerys I & Alysanne (1/13)
Aegon was born two months premature, born shortly after his mother was attacked in Maiden's Pool by the holy sisters. The prince was considered as white as snow and his cry as painful as that of a widow.
His father decided to put a dragon egg in his cradle thinking that in this way it would alleviate the pain of his offspring. It was thought that the prince would not survive his first month of life, but to the surprise of the masters, Aegon came to fulfill the first day of his name and that same day his dragon Valarr was born, which was black as night. Alysanne took great care of her eldest son and she believed that he could pass away. Aegon grew up as a thin, tall, pale child who was fond of reading, dragons, and the countryside.
Despite being a somewhat shy and fragile child, Aegon had a good relationship with his brothers, especially with Daenerys and Aemon with whom he shared studies, despite not being able to share games with them. In 60 a. C., his sister Daenerys sick with chills and together with her mother prayed continuously for the improvement of Daenerys. A month later her sister would supposedly survive when her white dragon was born.
In 62 a. C., After almost two years of the chills, Jaehaerys I and Alysanne formalize the engagement between Aegon with Daenerys in favor of Septon Barth, however the wedding would not take place until the betrothed were older. A year after getting engaged, Aegon rode his dragon for the first time, Valarr flying from the capital to Harrenhal and it is said that that trip mysteriously improved the prince's health, becoming a young man of good wit, sturdy arms and strong skin.
The prince of Dragonstone began to share some games with his brothers and especially with his sister Daenerys who was considered restless, happy and energetic. Septon Barth recommended to Jaehaerys I that Aegon join the Golden Cloaks stating that "A dragon rider and a future king must be a good warrior", this was well seen by the king, but the queen was afraid of what it could happen to your child during jousting practice. In the end, Jaehaerys managed to convince his beloved wife to allow his firstborn to begin to gain strength and protection for himself.
Aegon entered the Golden Cloaks when he was about 12 years old, but after a year he left due to his inexperience with the sword and bow being considered a young man with very limited strength. Two months later, the long-awaited wedding of the crown princes took place in the Red Keep, being an event much celebrated by the Seven Kingdoms.
Aegon & Daenerys were very close and everyone thought that they would be like their parents reigning in complete peace. The couple did not consume the bed until 70 a. C., when they were both adults, but Daenerys did not get pregnant until a year after she gave birth to a girl, Alysanne Targaryen who would be the wife of her uncle Valerion of hers and they would have a child.
In 73 a. C., her little Daena was born, who became her favorite daughter and a year later her first child, Aegon, was born, but he would die shortly after being born being the tragic death of her for the family. In 76 his third daughter was born, Maerys, who would be Lady of Casterly Rock and would have offspring.
In 78 Aenar would be born who would reach adulthood and have offspring, but would not become King. Three years after the birth of his heir, his little daughter Daena died of tuberculosis at the age of 8, this heartbreaking death for him and he kept the dragon egg that he had given him from which young Daenos was born. After the death of her daughter the couple distanced themselves a bit, but they reconciled again a few months later and in 84 a. C., Daeron is born that would be adviser of the currency and would have descendants. A year after this birth, the family decided to go to Dorne to visit his younger sister, Saera, who was Mistress of Spear of the Sun, and the brothers agreed that Prince Daeron would marry his cousin Maya Martell.
In 90 a. C., Daenerys gave birth to her last daughter, Shaera and this she would become Lady of the Valley by marrying the stepson of her aunt Daella, Lord Arryn. The couple lived in complete peace for ten years, spending their afternoons reading or taking care of their children & during that time their son Aenar married Jocasta Lannister, daughter of Lyman Lannister and Jocasta Tarbeck, but with her they did not have a good relationship due to the ambition that Jocasta had.
In 100 a. C., her mother Alysanne Targaryen died of old age and her death hurt her children a lot, but especially her husband who would miss her for many years. After his mother died, Aegon took over the regency when his father began to be less lucid and his regency is described as calm, in addition to being a thrifty prince.
Three years later, Jaehaerys I Targaryen passed away due to his advanced age, his death being just as tragic as that of the queen. Aegon ascended the throne as Aegon II Targaryen and Daenerys as his consort, being highly praised by the people.
The Reign of Aegon is described as quiet and a golden age when the "Scarlet Bank" or also known as "Band of the Dragon" was founded where all taxes were kept and used for the benefit of the people. That maneuver earned him the nickname "The Golden King" and the sympathy of the people.
In 108 a. C., was born his grandson, Aenys the only legitimate son of his son Aenar Targaryen. The birth of his male grandson further increased tensions between the kings and her daughter-in-law, Jocasta Lannister because she had given birth to the heir to the crown. Four years after the birth of Aenys, Prince Aenar died at 34 years of age of puerperal fever and little Aenys became Prince of Dragonstone.
The death of his son made Aegon II fear that if he died, his grandson would become King and his mother would take the regency, so he dictated in his will that his successor would be his wife, Daenerys until he came of age. of his grandson and that way there would be no ruler. This decision was not welcomed by some men who supported the mother of the young prince, but his younger brother Baelon, who was his Hand of the King, thought that it would be the best for the good of the people and the heir to the crown. Aegon declared to all Daenerys as his heir who would reign until the coming of age of Aenys something that was well seen by the people, but the courtiers did not see well that the prince of Dragonstone was displaced longer from the throne.
In 114 a. C., the kings suffered a poisoning attempt after a feast for the day of the name of the little Aenys and it is believed that it was a plan of Jocasta Lannister or her mother, Lady Tarbeck to get rid of both.
Despite this event, Aegon II's reign was one of complete peace even with the palatial plots of some of his relatives.
At the beginning of 118 a. C., the king began to suffer from serious health problems and ended up dying a month later at 66 years of age due to his advanced age. He was succeeded by his wife, Daenerys I Targaryen who would reign until her own death in 124 a. C. He was cremated and his ashes lie alongside those of his family.
Aegon II (53 d. C.-118 d. C.) Rey de los Siete Reinos
Aegon nació dos meses prematuro, había nacido poco después de que su madre fue atacada en Poza de la Doncella por las santas hermanas. El príncipe era considerado tan blanco como la nieve y su llanto tan doloroso como el de una viuda.
Su padre decidió poner un huevo de dragón en su cuna pensando que de esta forma aliviaría el dolor de su retoño. Se pensaba que el príncipe no sobreviviría a su primer mes de vida, pero para la sorpresa de los maestres, Aegon llego a cumplir su primer día del nombre y ese mismo día nació su dragón Valarr que era negro como la noche. Alysanne cuido con sumo cuidado a su hijo mayor y creía que este podría fallecer. Aegon creció como un niño delgado, de estatura alta y pálido que era aficionado a la lectura, a los dragones y el campo.
Pesé a ser un niño algo tímido y frágil, Aegon tuvo una buena relación con sus hermanos en especial con Daenerys y Aemon con los cuales compartía estudios pesé a no poder compartir juegos con ellos. En 60 d. C., su hermana Daenerys enfermo de escalofríos y junto a su madre rezaba continuamente por la mejoría de Daenerys. Un mes después su hermana sobreviviría supuestamente al nacer su dragón blanca.
En 62 d. C., tras casi dos años del escalofríos, Jaehaerys I y Alysanne formalizan el compromiso entre Aegon con Daenerys por favor del Septon Barth, sin embargo la boda no se realizaría hasta que los prometidos fueran mas mayores. Un año después de comprometerse, Aegon monto por primera vez su dragón, Valarr volando desde la capital hasta Harrenhal y se dice que aquel viaje mejoro misteriosamente la salud del príncipe volviéndose un joven de buen ingenio, brazos resistentes y con una piel fuerte.
El príncipe de Rocadragon empezó a compartir algunos juegos con sus hermanos y sobre todo con su hermana Daenerys que era considerada inquieta, alegre y energética. El septón Barth recomendó a Jaehaerys I que Aegon se uniera a las Capas Doradas afirmando que “Un jinete de dragón y un futuro rey debe de ser un buen guerrero”, esto fue bien visto por el rey, pero la reina tenia miedo de lo que podría pasarle a su hijo durante una practica de justa. Al final Jaehaerys logro convencer a su querida esposa de permitir que su primogénito empiece a adquirir fuerza y protección por el mismo.
Aegon entro en Las Capas Doradas cuando tenia unos 12 años de edad, pero al cabo de un año lo dejo debido a su inexperiencia con la espada y el arco siendo considerado un joven con una fuerza muy limitada. Dos meses mas tarde se celebro la esperada boda de los príncipes herederos en la Fortaleza Roja siendo un evento muy celebrado por los Siete Reinos.
Aegon & Daenerys eran muy cercanos y todos pensaban que serían como sus padres reinando en completa paz. La pareja no consumo el lecho hasta el 70 d. C., cuando ambos ya eran mayores de edad, pero Daenerys no quedo embarazada hasta un año después dando a luz a una niña, Alysanne Targaryen que sería la esposa de su tío Valerion y tendrían un hijo.
En 73 d. C., nace su pequeña Daena que se convirtió en su hija favorita y un año después nació su primer hijo, Aegon, pero este fallecería al poco de nacer siendo su muerte trágica para la familia. En el 76 nace su tercera hija, Maerys que sería Señora de Roca Casterly y tendría descendencia.
En 78 nacería Aenar que llegaría a edad adulta y tendría descendencia, pero no llegaría a ser Rey. Tres años después del nacimiento de su heredero falleció su pequeña Daena por tuberculosis a los 8 años siendo esta muerte desgarradora para el y conservo el huevo de dragón que le había otorgado del cual nació el joven Daenos. Tras la muerte de su hija la pareja se distancio un poco, pero volvieron a reconciliarse unos meses después y en 84 d. C., nace Daeron que sería consejero de la moneda y tendría descendencia. Un año después de este nacimiento, la familia decide partir a Dorne para visitar a su hermana menor, Saera que era Señora de Lanza del Sol y entre los hermanos acordaron que el príncipe Daeron se casaría con su prima Maya Martell.
En 90 d. C., Daenerys dio a luz a su ultima hija, Shaera y esta sería Señora del Valle al casarse con el hijastro de su tía Daella, Lord Arryn. La pareja vivió en completa paz por diez años pasando sus tardes leyendo o cuidando de sus hijos & durante ese tiempo su hijo Aenar se caso con Jocasta Lannister, hija de Lyman Lannister y Jocasta Tarbeck, pero con esta no tuvieron buena relación por la ambición que Jocasta tenia.
En 100 d. C., falleció su madre Alysanne Targaryen por vejez y su muerte le dolió mucho a sus hijos, pero en especial a su marido que la añoraría por muchos años. Tras morir su madre, Aegon se encargo de la regencia cuando su padre empezó a estar menos lucido y se describe su regencia como tranquila, además de ser un príncipe ahorrador.
Tres años después falleció Jaehaerys I Targaryen por su avanzada edad siendo su muerte igual de trágica que la de la reina. Aegon subió al trono como Aegon II Targaryen y Daenerys como su consorte, siendo muy elogiados por el pueblo.
El Reinado de Aegon se describe como tranquilo y una época de oro cuando se fundo el “Banco Escarlata” o también conocido como “Bando del Dragón” donde todos los impuestos eran guardados y utilizados para beneficio del pueblo. Aquella maniobra le gano el apodo de “El rey Dorado” y la simpatía del pueblo.
En 108 d. C., nació su nieto, Aenys el único hijo legitimo de su hijo Aenar Targaryen. El nacimiento de su nieto varón hizo que incrementara mas las tensiones entre los reyes y su nuera, Jocasta Lannister debido a que había dado a luz al heredero de la corona. Cuatro años después del nacimiento de Aenys, el príncipe Aenar falleció a los 34 años de edad de fiebres puerperales y el pequeño Aenys se convirtió en Príncipe de Rocadragón.
La muerte de su hijo hizo temer a Aegon II de que si el fallecía su nieto se convierta en Rey y la madre de este tomara la regencia, por lo que dicto en su testamento que su sucesora sería su esposa, Daenerys hasta la mayoría de edad de su nieto y de esa forma no habría regente. Esta decisión no fue bien vista por algunos hombres que apoyaban a la madre del joven príncipe, pero su hermano menor Baelon, que era su Mano del Rey pensó que sería lo mejor por el bien del pueblo y del heredero de la corona. Aegon declaro ante todos a Daenerys como su heredera que reinaría hasta la mayoría de edad de Aenys algo que fue bien visto por el pueblo, pero los cortesanos no veían bien que el príncipe de Rocadragón fuera desplazado mas tiempo del trono.
En 114 d. C., los reyes sufrieron un intento de envenenamiento tras un banquete por el día del nombre del pequeño Aenys y se cree que fue plan de Jocasta Lannister o su madre, Lady Tarbeck para deshacerse de ambos.
Pesé a este acontecimiento el reinado de Aegon II fue de completa paz aun con las tramas palaciegas de algunos de sus familiares.
A principios del 118 d. C., el rey empezó a sufrir de serios problemas de salud y acabo falleciendo un mes después a los 66 años de edad por su avanzada edad. Fue sucedido por su esposa, Daenerys I Targaryen que reinaría hasta su propia muerte en 124 d. C. Fue incinerado y sus cenizas reposan al lado de las de su familia.
Coukd i get a angst(but fluffy ending) with shoto, i am so in love with angst now Maybe something basic like shoto is an ass to his s/o, because he had a fight with his dad? Or just do something you have in your mind :)
I heard from todo in days . I’m really worried about him. It was not like him at all to miss. School. So I decided to head to his dorm after class. I knock on the door.
“ Baby are you in there” I said knocking again. I got no reply.
“Please I know your in there” I cried “l love you. Please answer. Did I do something to make you mad if so please tell me” Maybe he wasn’t I here after all. I can’t leave until I know what’s up for sure.
“Alright I’m coming In then” I said turning the door knob.
“Leave me alone please”he yelled. I got a answer but it was so unlike him, to lose his cool. I have to know what’s wrong.
“Please just tell me what’s wrong” I begged
“ go away Y/n ” he scoffed. What did I do to deserve this treatment from him.
“ please we can talk about it. I’m worried about you . I love you please” this was starting to feel hopeless. Maybe he didn’t want me anymore. Maybe he was trying to distance himself from me . To make things easier.
Well if that the case . If he doesn’t want me anymore then he should face me like a man. He should tell me that himself . I felt like my heart had dropped to my stomach . Please don’t let that be the case. I love him more then anything in this life .
“ Please let me in todo” I pleaded. If he was trying to make things easier. He failing to do so, this is more painful.
“ fine I’m coming in” I said . I open the door to see him standing there . He look like a mess. I never seen him like this .
“ I said leave me alone” he shouted . What he did next, took me by surprise. He attack me using his fire said . I was burnt on my arm . My eyes welled up with tears. Not because of the fire but because it was him who had hurt me .
“ I’m so sorry my love . I didn’t mean too” he babbled. I didn’t care I was so hurt by his actions. I decided to go find Bakugou my best friend. I needed someone to talk to.
_____________________________________________
Todoroki POV
I stared down at my hands . I can’t believe I hurt her . I love her more then anything. I don’t deserve her, she was only trying to help.
I probably lost her forever with my actions. I wouldn’t blame her . The reaction on Y/n face still burning in my head . I could never forgive myself.
She needs to know that’ll it will never happen again. I need to show her that I still love her . She my whole entire world . I wasn’t mad at her . I was mad at my dad. Yet I feel I’m becoming him and I’m terrified.
_______________________________________________
Y/n POV
“ hey stop fucking crying your better then that” Bakugou said. We were setting in my room and eating ice cream. “ I’m going to blast Icyhot when I see him . I warned him when he started talking to you. Not to hurt you or I’ll murder him”
“Please don’t I still love him” I said . Bakugou was mean and rude. Everyone knows that I’m like his little sister and he will fuck them up . If he has too. He already tru to kill mineta because of his pervy comments.
There was a knock on the door . I got up and answer it. It was todoroki. He pulled me into a tight hug before I could resist . “ please hear me out love” he said.
“ you have five seconds to leave before I murder you” Bakugou growled.
“ it’s fine, can you give us a moment” I asked . He walked out and slam the door.
“ look I’m so sorry . I had a fight with my dad and I didn’t want to take out on you . You walked in anyways and I just snapped . I’m sorry . I hate myself so much for it . I just need you to understand how much I love you.” His eyes started to tear up. He got down on one need and pulled out a ring.
“ will you Y/n take this promise ring. I love you so much. I’d do anything for you. I’d choose your happiness over mine. If you take it I promise you will always be love and Have everything you ever need. One day when we graduate. I will replace it with a wedding ring” he confessed.
“ Yes, of course I forgive you my love” I ran And jumped into his arms. He put the ring on my finger and then we started to kiss.
“ Get a fucking room you two” I heard Bakugou behind us.
“Are you excited?” My mom asked me as I sat down in front of a mirror, getting my hair and make up done. I could hear my friends laughing in the background and see them twirling around in their bridesmaids dresses. I smiled and looked up at her through the reflection and nodded. “I am. I can’t believe the day is actually here.”
I looked outside my window and saw how dark it was getting outside. It’s almost time and my heart is racing at the thought of living out the rest of my life with my best friend. She leaned down and grasped my hand into hers, rubbing small circles and sighed.
“... Okay I’m not gonna lie, I’m actually very nervous.” I said. “What if everything doesn’t turn out the way we planned? What if he’s having second thoughts? Am I just gonna - ”
“(Y/N), cálmese. Escuchame muy bien...” I glanced at her and nodded as she continued talking. “Your father and I have always prayed that you would find someone who will love you no matter what. Someone who was willing to put in the work and treat you as an equal. When we first met Christopher, I knew he was special. He was different than the guys you would bring home to meet us in the past and I just… I knew he was going to be in our lives for a very long time. (Y/N), you have nothing to worry about. He’s your soulmate, your other half… you found him.”
“Mom, you’re gonna make me cry and I just got my makeup done. I’m a mess. I am the conductor of the Hot Mess Express.” I chuckled and fanned my face as she laughed.
“I’m sorry for getting all sappy on you, but you needed to hear it.” After a few minutes, my sister had come up to me and held up her phone. “C’mon! Let’s take a quick photo.” She laughed as I leaned in and smiled.
“You know… Chris is gonna cry like a baby when he sees you.” She joked and I laughed, nodding. “I think he might, and I think he knows it because he’s told people he has no shame in getting emotional at the altar.” I’m not used to being without him for a day or not speaking to him for a day. I’m curious to see what he’s doing and I can’t wait to see him.
After everything was set and I was practically ready, I heard a knock on my door and my mom went to go and see who it was. “Is she ready?” I heard my father’s voice come through as I turned to look at him. He glanced at me and smiled, walking towards me.
“You look beautiful.” I smiled as he leaned in and gave me a hug. “I can’t believe the day’s here.” He chuckled and pulled away, tears welling up in his eyes as he finally got a good look at me. “Papá, please don’t cry..” He sniffled and laughed. “I’m not crying! There’s just something in my eye..”
I looked up at the clock in my room and took a deep breath in. “Toots… it’s time..” My dad spoke as he held out his hand for me to take. I grabbed my bouquet of flowers and looked at myself one last time in the mirror. “Okay.. let’s do this..”
We walked out of the room as everyone followed after us. One by one, the bridesmaids and groomsmen walked down the aisle until it was just me and my father. I looked up and saw him standing there. He looks so handsome…
Oh my God… I’m going to marry the man of my dreams..
I gripped onto my father’s arm as we got closer to where Chris was standing. I can’t believe I’m walking into my very own fairytale wedding.
I’ve been dreaming of a wedding like this since I was a very young child and knew I wanted to be a princess walking down the aisle. I never thought I would get it until now.
I turned and gave my father a hug and whispered into his ear. “I love you, papá… ” We pulled away and handed me off to Christopher. The second I felt his touch against mine, I feel at home. This is the man I’m meant to be with for the rest of my life.
He smiled at me with tears in his eyes as we now stood hand in hand at the altar in front of friends and family. “You look gorgeous, mi amor… ” I smiled at him as I heard the officiant begin speaking.
“Family, friends… we are gathered here to witness the marriage between Christopher Bryant Vélez Muñoz and (Y/N) (L/N). With the strength and beauty of this couple and their journey, I can think of no better place to celebrate their perfect day. Look at one another and remember this moment in time. In a few moments, you shall say a few words that will take you across a threshold of life, and things between you will never quite be the same. For after today, you shall say to the world - this is my husband. This is my wife. Both Christopher and (Y/N) decided to write their own vows and will share them in front of everyone..”
I felt my heart begin racing as we turned towards each other and began reading our vows. “(Y/N), mi amor… ” He started off. “God gave me my happily ever after 4 years ago when I least expected it. You move me like no one else has ever done before. I knew I loved you when you would smile and laugh at all of my silly jokes.” I smiled at him and waited for him to continue.
“I knew you were the one for me when you took care of my mother when she was sick. I saw how caring and nurturing you are and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you and our kids in the future. I want to wake up and see you and your crazy hair in the morning. I want you to be the last thing I see before I sleep. I promise to be your best friend because you are mine. Ultimately, I want to say that I want it all with you. There’s no other person I would go through Heaven and earth for than you. I love you and I can’t wait to start this new chapter together and be able to call you mi mujer… ”
I cleared my throat and began saying my vows.
“Chris. Cris P. Bacon. The real Chris shady. Kristoff. My nicknames for you have changed over the years, but my love for you has not.” He chuckled and wiped a tear away from his eye.
“Mi amor, you are my other half. I promise I will always save you a bite of food from my plate when you’re still hungry. I promise I will always celebrate you and celebrate with you. Your ups and downs, I’ll be with you through it all. I dread to think of how my life would be like if I never met you. Boring is probably the word because you bring so much laughter into my life.” He laughed as I took a shaky breath in.
“I’m excited to see what this new adventure with you as your wife would be like. Te amo mucho con todo mi corazón, mi amor.” We each slipped on our wedding rings and looked back up at each other. This is actually happening. We’re actually getting married…
His lips quivered a bit as I leaned in and wiped his tears away from his face. “Hey, I’m not afraid to cry, okay?” Everyone laughed as the officiant spoke.
“Christopher and (Y/N) have demonstrated the importance of growing roots that are deep and strong. May your marriage be stout and resilient. Christopher, you may now kiss the bride.” I smiled and wrapped my hands around his neck, bringing him closer to me as our lips touched. Our friends and family cheered as he placed his hand on my lower back and brought me closer to him.
We pulled away and looked into each other's eyes, smiling. “We’re married… ” He moved a strand of hair away from my face and chuckled. “Mi mujer… wow… ”
BOOM
We all turned our attention to the sky where fireworks were now going off above us. I chuckled and leaned into Christopher’s side, placing my hand on his chest as he wrapped an arm around my shoulder. Everyone gathered around us to admire the fireworks as I leaned in and planted a kiss onto my husband's lips.
“I love you to infinity and beyond.”
“That is so cheesy.”
“I know, but it feels right.”
La princesa Alyssa Targaryen fue la quinta hija del rey Jaehaerys I Targaryen y su hermana esposa, la reina Alysanne Targaryen. Se casó con su hermano, el príncipe Baelon Targaryen, y tuvo tres hijos con él, Viserys, Daemon y Aegon. Fue jinete del dragón Meleys.
Alyssa es descrita como una muchacha delgada de rostro luengo, de orejas grandes, cabello rubio sucio y ojos de color dispar, uno violeta y el otro verde. Tras recibir el golpe de una espada de madera en el rostro a los seis años, se le quebró la nariz y sanó torcida.
Nombrada en honor a su abuela, Alyssa Velaryon, la princesa fue una niña alegre y sana. De niña era muy similar a su difunta hermana Daenerys, pero el parecido desapareció rápidamente. Alyssa se vestía como un chico siempre que podía, huía de las niñas y prefería montar a caballo, trepar y pelear con espadas que coser, leer y cantar. Además, la princesa seguía incesantemente a su hermano mayor Baelon, para desgracia del príncipe. Con los años se hicieron inseparables y para 68 d.C., los reyes hablaban de casar a Baelon y Alyssa, quienes eran tan unidos como lo fueran sus padres a su edad.
La princesa se convirtió en hermana mayor en 62 d.C., cuando la reina dio a luz a una niña llamada Maegelle; la nueva princesa se encariñó con Alyssa del mismo modo en que ella lo había hecho con Baelon. Alyssa se enfurecía de tener a la pequeña pegada a sus faldas y la evitaba lo mejor que podía, mientras Baelon se reía de su furia.
En 73 d.C. una dama de compañía de la reina, nueva en la Fortaleza Roja, le preguntó al príncipe Vaegon y la princesa Daella en tono de broma cuándo se iban a casar. Vaegon reaccionó como si lo hubieran abofeteado, afirmando delante de media corte que jamás se casaría con ella, diciendo que Daella apenas sabía leer. Sugirió entonces que deberían dar con un señor necesitado de hijos mentecatos, pues serían los únicos vástagos que Daella tendría. La princesa estalló en llanto y huyó del salón, seguida a toda prisa por su madre. Alyssa, tres años mayor que Vaegon, le vertió una jarra de vino por la cabeza, pero ni siquiera eso hizo arrepentirse al príncipe de sus dichos.
Ese mismo año, a instancias del rey, el Gran Maestre Elysar le pidió al príncipe Baelon que entrenara con Vaegon; aunque Baelon persistió un año, era claro que Vaegon no había nacido para luchar. En una ocasión, para animar a su hermano menor, Baelon llevó a Alyssa con una cota de malla para que entrenara con Vaegon; Alyssa no había olvidado el incidente del dorado del Rejo y humilló a Vaegon medio centenar de veces mientras Daella observaba desde una torre.
A los quince años, en 75 d.C., la princesa en convirtió en la primera jinete del dragón Meleys. Su hermano Aemon se había convertido en jinete a los diecisiete, mientras Baelon había reclamado a Vhagar a los dieciséis; Alyssa no iba a esperar demasiado. Los Guardianes de los Dragones la disuadieron de escoger a Balerion, argumentando que era viejo y lento y que seguramente ella deseaba una montura veloz; finalmente alzó el vuelo con Meleys, una hembra escarlata jamás montada. No tan grande como otros dragones Targaryen, Meleys era el más rápido de todos ellos, adelantando con facilidad a Caraxes y a Vhagar en vuelo.
Ese mismo año, Alyssa desposó a su hermano Baelon. En encamamiento que siguió a su banquete nupcial generó chistes desvergonzados por días, pues a decir de algunos los gritos de la novia se oyeron hasta el Valle Oscuro. El príncipe no dejó de sonreír después de su matrimonio, pasando con su esposa tanto como les era posible, tanto volando en Vhagar y Meleys, como en sus aposentos.
Dos años después de su matrimonio, Alyssa dio a luz al primer hijo de la pareja, el príncipe Viserys. Cuando el risueño bebé tenía seis días de edad, Alyssa se lo amarró al pecho y voló a lomos de Meleys; posteriormente declaró que Viserys se había reído durante todo el vuelo. Otro hijo, el príncipe Daemon, nació en 81 d.C. Como con Viserys anteriormente, Alyssa llevó a volar al bebé a los quince días de nacido.
Tras su éxito en la cuarta guerra dorniense, Baelon y Alyssa celebraron su tercer embarazo. Después de un largo y difícil parto en 84 d.C., la princesa dio a luz a su tercer hijo, el príncipe Aegon. Baelon declaró que Alyssa era más valerosa que él, quien preferiría librar una docena de batallas a pasar por un parto. La princesa, riendo, respondió:
"Tú estás hecho para la batalla, y yo, para esto. Con Viserys, Daemon y Aegon ya van tres. En cuanto me ponga bien, haremos otro. Quiero darte veinte hijos. ¡Un ejército propio!"
Sin embargo, Alyssa no se recuperó por completo del difícil parto y murió ese mismo año; el príncipe Aegon murió medio año después, poco antes de su primer día del nombre. Devastado por las muertes, el príncipe Baelon se refugió en sus hijos Viserys y Daemon, y nunca dejó de honrar la memoria de esposa.
A veces me la puedo imaginar como hubiera sido si ella siguiera viva, su hermano Aemon muriera, Baelon sería el heredero de su padre y para aquel entonces siguiera vivo, me la puedo imaginar como su madre (si hubiera sido reina) valiente, fuerte, amistosa con amigos y fiera con sus enemigos. Viserra podría haber sido la hermana mas hermosa, pero Alyssa no necesitaba ser una muchacha de belleza extraordinaria y ni mucho menos... Para poder conquistar el corazón de su hermano, que a pesar de haber enviudado joven y haberse podido casar de nuevo, nunca dejo de pensar en Alyssa y nunca dejo de amarla.
Princess Alyssa Targaryen was the fifth daughter of King Jaehaerys I Targaryen and his sister wife, Queen Alysanne Targaryen. She married her brother, Prince Baelon Targaryen, and had three children with him, Viserys, Daemon, and Aegon. She was rider of the dragon Meleys.
Alyssa is described as a slim girl with a long face, big ears, dirty blonde hair and disparate colored eyes, one purple and the other green. After receiving the blow of a wooden sword in the face at the age of six, her nose was broken and she healed crooked.
Named after her grandmother, Alyssa Velaryon, the princess was a happy and healthy child. As a child she was very similar to her late sister Daenerys, but the resemblance quickly faded. Alyssa dressed like a boy whenever she could, ran away from girls, and preferred to ride horses, climb, and fight with swords than to sew, read, and sing. Furthermore, the princess incessantly followed her older brother Baelon, much to the prince's misfortune. Over the years they became inseparable and by AD 68, the kings were talking about marrying Baelon and Alyssa, who were as close as their parents were at their age.
The princess became an older sister in 62 AD, when the queen gave birth to a girl named Maegelle; the new princess grew fond of Alyssa in the same way that she had fond of Baelon. Alyssa was infuriated to have the little girl clinging to her skirts and avoided her as best she could, while Baelon laughed at her fury.
In 73 A.D. a lady-in-waiting to the queen, new to the Red Keep, jokingly asked Prince Vaegon and Princess Daella when they were getting married. Vaegon reacted as if he had been slapped, stating in front of the middle court that he would never marry her, saying that Daella could barely read. She suggested then that they should find a man in need of foolish children, as they would be the only offspring Daella would have. The princess burst into tears and fled the room, followed hastily by her mother. Alyssa, three years older than Vaegon, poured a jug of wine over her head, but even that didn't make the prince regret her sayings.
That same year, at the king's urging, Grand Master Elysar asked Prince Baelon to train with Vaegon; although Baelon persisted for a year, it was clear that Vaegon was not born to fight. On one occasion, to cheer up his younger brother, Baelon brought Alyssa in a chainmail to train with Vaegon; Alyssa had not forgotten the incident of the Dorado of the Rejo and humiliated Vaegon half a hundred times while Daella watched from a tower.
At the age of fifteen, in AD 75, the princess became the first dragon rider Meleys. Her brother Aemon had become a rider at seventeen, while Baelon had claimed Vhagar at sixteen; Alyssa wasn't going to wait too long. The Guardians of the Dragons dissuaded her from choosing Balerion, arguing that he was old and slow and that she surely wanted a fast mount; she finally took flight with Meleys, a scarlet female never ridden. Not as big as other Targaryen dragons, Meleys was the fastest of them all, easily overtaking Caraxes and Vhagar in flight.
That same year, Alyssa married her brother Baelon. In bedding that followed her wedding banquet, she generated shameless jokes for days, because according to some, the bride's screams were heard up to the Dark Valley. The prince did not stop smiling after their marriage, spending as much time with his wife as possible, both flying in Vhagar and Meleys, and in their chambers.
Two years after their marriage, Alyssa gave birth to the couple's first child, Prince Viserys. When the giggling baby was six days old, Alyssa tied him to her chest and flew on Meleys' back; she later stated that Viserys had laughed throughout the flight. Another son, Prince Daemon, was born in AD 81. As with Viserys previously, Alyssa took the baby flying at fifteen days old.
Following her success in the Fourth Dornish War, Baelon and Alyssa celebrated their third pregnancy. After a long and difficult labor in 84 AD, the princess gave birth to her third son, Prince Aegon. Baelon declared that Alyssa was more courageous than he, who would rather fight a dozen battles than go through childbirth. The princess, laughing, replied:
"You are made for the battle, and I, for this. With Viserys, Daemon and Aegon there are already three. As soon as I am well, we will make another one. I want to give you twenty children. An army of my own!"
However, Alyssa did not fully recover from the difficult delivery and died that same year; Prince Aegon died half a year later, shortly before her first name day. Devastated by the deaths, Prince Baelon took refuge in his sons Viserys and Daemon, and never failed to honor his wife's memory.
Sometimes I can imagine her as she would have been if she were still alive, her brother Aemon died, Baelon would be his father's heir and by then he was still alive, I can imagine her as her mother (if she had been queen) brave, strong, friendly with friends and fierce with her enemies. Viserra could have been the most beautiful sister, but Alyssa did not need to be a girl of extraordinary beauty and far from it ... To be able to conquer the heart of her brother, who despite having been a young widow and having been able to marry again, never I stop thinking about Alyssa and I never stop loving her.
Star Tear AU - Alt. Timeline: Todoroki ver. [Part 1]
This is an AU I wrote on the todomomo discord server eons ago. Anything posted to this blog will be transcripts of old original work and not really edited, save for formatting. I have no guarantees if I will ever finish these AUs either so these will only be kept as an archive.
Original transcript posted to tdmm discord: Aug 2020
Momo ver. Alternate timeline: Todo ver. Part 1 || Todo ver. Part 2 || Todo ver. Part 3
Star tears in which Todoroki falls for Momo first.
shortly after the exam with Aizawa he doesn’t know what he’s feeling but just admires her strength and quick thinking
and him hanging out with Deku and Iida at lunch means Todo hears all the nice and good things Momo does when she and Iida to discuss class prez stuff
which intensifies this ??admiration?? and respect more
and he just?? Holds onto those feelings unable to figure out what they are until idk maybe holidays where 1A and 1B throw that holiday hotpot party
and Momos really cute lookin’ in that Santa hat she made with the festive turtleneck
and so that feeling inside Todo grows into something more??? bc "oh shit she cute".... and Todo’s blushing while looking at her from afar. Probably.
so Todo talks to Fuyumi abt it and Fuyumi’s like: “I think you like her Shouto”
and he writes to his mom abt it and Rei's like: “she sounds like a lovely girl Shouto”
and he texts Natsuo abt it and Natsu's like: “aw little bro has a crush”
but all the while this is happening, Momo's gotten closer with Iida over class prez stuff and hero stuff and everyone in 1A (read: mina and hagakure) think iimomo might be a thing???
ofc Momo denies it and making excuses politely like "no no ofc not we're being responsible class prez and vice prez" but she’s kinda stuttery while doing so, so no one buys it
and no ones brave enough to ask Iida except Ochako but he gives some straight laced answer like "i admire her work ethic and respect her as a hero and vice prez" but he also has some tint of blush across his cheeks
so idk fast forward to graduation where Todo's been holding onto these feelings for Momo since first year and iimomo is still very very likely
so its all cherry blossom petals flying around and congratulatory celebrations
and when Todo sees Momo amongst the sakura trees smiling like he's never seen before (bc they're finally officially heroes!!) he thinks she’s beautiful
but just as he's about to approach her, Iida approaches her and Todo can see she's blushing and he knows its really not good to eavesdrop on one of his best friends and the girl he likes
But... he's curious.
or so he lies to himself.
Ofc what he hears isnt what he ever wants to,,,,
cuz Iida just confessed to her.
and she feels the same.
and a star tear slips from Todo's eye as he walks away.
he stops mid step as he touches his cheek bc he didnt even realize he was crying
but what are these tears??? What’s happening?? He's never had these before bc even though Todo is an emotional crier, he doesn’t cry that often.. only when he is completely overwhelmed with emotion
so he has this dumbfounded expression staring at his fingers as these star tears are twinkling out of his eyes catching sunlight and sakura petals
until he hears "Youre a fucking idiot" from a few steps away
Bakugou.
(Baku really likes eavesdropping ok its not the first time lol)
Baku: theyre called star tears.
Todo: You know what these are?
Baku: it happens when you like someone and that person doesnt like you back, idiot.
Todo: ... oh.
Baku: get that shit sorted or you'll go blind
(And for those who are curious, yes maaaayyybe Bakugou has a case of the stars in this timeline too, that’s how he knows. To whom? I'll let you decide bc honestly, I just want todobaku brotp bonding over unrequited love)
so now Todo thinks he might be fucked. One of his best friends confessed to the girl he likes too and she likes him back and now Todo has this disease that might make him go blind and might get in the way of heroing (which they've all secured post graduation positions by now) and what can he do about it?
nothing, says the doctor he sees. The disease is not curable and the only way to stop it is to have your feelings returned else you'll go colour blind and then completely blind, so he's told.
ya he's really fucked.
maybe its a good thing then, that he doesnt cry often. It makes it easier to ice over these feelings, freeze them in time with the memories of U.A.; of his last congratulations to her and her smile at the end of the ceremony an hour after he overheard that confession
maybe its another good thing that right after graduation, everyone went off to their own positions as side kicks with agencies across japan, focusing on heroing
but its 3 months after graduation that Iida tells Deku and Todoroki that he is seeing Momo when they meet up every Friday to catch up
its 6 months after graduation that its publicly announced in Hero Magazine that Ingenium and Creati are dating
its 9 months after graduation that he sees Iida and Momo attending the Hero Association's rising stars gala as a couple and are seated at the same table as them
(Bakugou is scowling at him across the table.)
Todo tries. He really does. To be happy for them.
but he's angry at himself that he can't be happy for them. That it saddens him to see Momo glowing under the ballroom lights but its not himself to make her shine like that, its Iida. That he sees she is the one to make Iida genuinely happy in the way his eyes light up when he smiles at her.
and all three times Todo goes home, lies down alone in his room, an arm slung across his forehead as the star tears leak from his eyes.
he starts to lose seeing colour at 12 months.
after 24 months he needs glasses for colour correction (and ironically gets a sponsorship with the brand. The fashion magazines print headlines for weeks "Hot-Cold Hero Shouto Fall Fashion! See page 7 spread for his newest spotted specks and turtle necks")
at 36 months Iida breaks the news. Iida's gonna propose to Yaoyorozu and wants him, Deku, and his brother to be his groomsmen
she said yes.
and a part of Todo washes away with the star tears flooding him room and twinkling against the tatami.
he tries to stay out of the wedding planning as much as possible. He'll go to the tuxedo fittings as requested and still keep up hearing the updates when seeing Iida and Deku for their weekly get together on Friday nights.
But for anything involving Momo's presence, there will always be a "sorry i have a mission that week", "sorry im visiting my mom", "sorry Endeavor needs to see me about the agency"
... all excuses Bakugou knows, but the others pay no mind. They are rising heroes near the top of the billboard by now
month 48. Wedding day.
she's stunning. Gorgeous. A near goddess walking down the aisle on her big day.
but she's not walking down for him. No its for iida.
there was the ceremony, the cheers, the congratulations, the reception. Fairy lights around the dance floor and along the walls, champagne glittering after the sound of a cork
Todoroki stands off to against the wall as the night dies down, a glass in hand, watching the newly weds grace the dance floor.
someone slides up beside him, he feels the presence. Bakugou.
"She's beautiful isnt she?"
"Yeah."
. . .
a star tear falls from Todoroki's eyes, twinkle hidden among the fairy lights and champagne glitter.
she's beautiful, but maybe its a good thing I can't see
somebody said: what if she knows everything that had happened and the reason why he couldn't continue his career is bc of her?
me: ok you’re asking for it
Momo, 3 months pregnant with iimomo baby, announces with Iida the news to their friends
the soon to be parents want to choose godparents for the baby so Iida gets to choose the baby’s godmother and Momo gets to choose the godfather
and ofc along with the announcement Momo asks Todoroki to be the kid’s godfather
he can’t say no to her.
the same week later Todo and Momo's agencies are requested to deal with this one villain case while Ingenium's agency deals with another in another town (later turns out the cases were connected)
small talk, civil, very professional between Momo and Todo when they’re in the debriefing
at this point Todo's pretty much completely blind and uses some special contact lenses from Hatsume to help "see"
but the contact lenses can only do so much as to detect light movement and shadows and it reallllllllly doesnt work well when he's using his fire
so Todo already had tossed around the idea of running away to the mountains like Roy did in the FMA 2003 ending, "mysteriously" retiring bc really his vision cannot keep up
until this last mission with Momo
and really its been nearly a decade now since they last worked together side by side (not since U.A. he thinks).. so just let the blind man be selfish one last time
and so smth smth missiom happens, Todo and Momo fighting side by side
but Momo senses there’s something off with Todo's movements? His reflexes are slower.. it doesnt seem like he's prediciting the opponents moves like he used to.. he's more so reacting and retaliating than attacking..
she chalks it up to that they havent fought side by side in a long time and his style must’ve changed and really, she doesnt know him anymore... not like she used to
smth smth 3 months pregnant Momo gets hurt, knocked unconscious for a bit
Todo saves her
and when she comes to, while Todo's holding her, star tears fall onto her cheek from Todo's eyes.
She's shocked. Reaches up to gently graze a finger tip at his left cheek.
"Todoroki-san, these are?"
and again its like Todo didnt realize he was crying. He jerks away from her hand and brushes her off with "its nothing”. Changes the subject with "are you ok?"
Momo: yes.. i think so
Todo: and the baby?
Momo, sitting up: we're ok I think
Todo, moving away: good
the mission concludes and they meet up with Ingenium’s group to wrap up the two ends. Todo slips away before Iida and Momo and approach him
theres no activity from Todoroki for the next month
neither Iida, Deku or anyone else in 1A know where he went except the Hero Association's vague comment on "Hot Cold Hero Shouto has taken a sudden indefinite hiatus"
(Only Todo’s family knows and Endeavor asked the Association to say "hiatus" instead of "retirement" bc Enji wants to believe in his son making a comeback. He didnt stop Shouto from taking off)
and ofc Momo upon hearing this is so confused??? Her last mission with him was the last time she saw him and he was crying. Why was he crying? Strange star tears twinkling and landing on her cheeks? What even is that phenomenon?
its too many questions and ofc Momo's gonna investigate. For the sake of her friend.
so she digs up all the texts she can find on star tears. Internet search all the possibilities. Consults the doctors at the hospital. Even asks Tenya if Todoroki has been acting strangely during their weekly catch ups.
but Tenya tells her Todoroki hasnt been the the meet ups since after their wedding
so she asks anyone in their pro hero circle of associates she can think of. Tsukiyomi, Burnin', heros from his agency, anyone she can think of that has worked with Todoroki before and could comment on his behaviour
no body knows. No body noticed anything different either. Sure there were some off days but the Hot Cold Hero Shouto was always on his game being one of the top 3 heroes on the billboard charts
she searches and searches, splitting time interviewing colleagues and researching the possible star tears phenomenon
until eventually her search takes her to...
Bakugou.
Of course.
Momo, pleading: please Bakugou, you know something about him dont you?
Bakugou, who at this point had been very careful trying not to get cornered knowing her investigation: save it pony tail, you’re about to have a baby. Go have people harass you about that brat in your oven instead of harassing other people
Momo, nearly begging: please. You and I both know he's strong and a good hero that would not suddenly retire. Whatever he is doing, he might need help.. please tell me Bakugou.
... theres something about pregnant women that you cant say no to.
Bakugou, relenting: tch. The half ass is somewhere in Yokohama
and thats all she needs nearly running waddling (as fast as a pregnant woman could) out the door
Bakugou, calling out after her, still reluctant: when find that half ass, i suggest you throw him a gift. Literally. Throw it at him. He deserves it.
she finds him along the port, watching the sunset in Yokohama (its really not that hard to find someone with heterochromia and two tone hair in a city, especially if youre a hero that knows what methods heroes will use to go incognito)
and for some inkling of a feeling, Momo takes Bakugou's advice. She has a carton of strawberry milk in hand.
Momo, a few feet away from him: Todoroki-san, it's been a while.
Todo, turning his head in her direction: Yaoyorozu...?
Momo, sadly smiling: the sunset is beautiful here isnt it?
Todo, brows furrowing: .. sure. Yaoyorozu what are you doing here--
Momo, interrupting him: --i brought some snacks. Strawberry milk, you liked this while we were in school right? Catch.
she tosses it at him.
he tries to reach out.
But he'es completely off. And misses
Momo, sad: Todoroki-san. You're blind, arent you?
Todo, guilty: ah.
Momo, tearing up: will you please tell me?
he still can say no to her and confesses his story
and when he's finished telling the tale of star tears, the stars above are twinkling too
she's crying and choking and sobbing through tears and its intensified by baby Iida with pregnancy hormones
But the last thing she manages to croak out at the very least is still wholly her
She apologizes
“Im so sorry Todoroki- san. I cant love you that way.”
“I know.”
END NOTES:
red is the last color Todoroki wanted to lose because it reminds him of Momo
during missions, as long as he could see her, “that’s ok” he thought. she is the only one he sees in color. that is okay with him
to him, Momo is his shining star. And there’s something tragically poetic of him losing his sight to the stars if its for his shining star Momo
He leaves the last stars in a tiny little jar like those paper stars as a gift for her with just the words on a note "goodbye Momo" the day after she finds him in Yokohama
Momo has the jar of stars forever on her bedside and looks at them with this melancholy expression. Baby Iida grows up and asks mom: "what is that jar of stars?"
Momo responds: "a gift from someone that was blinded by love"
Bakugou in this timeline had a case of star tears too but I'd like to think he got his feelings requited so he never went blind to contrast Todo
So thats why Baku is (begrudgingly) sympathetic to Todo cuz he thinks: “that could’ve been me”
The ending shot of a blind Todoroki in a dark room, all alone, eyes closed, thinking back to Momo's shining smile from UA surrounded by star light with a sad smile on his face and it fades to black
(Not a request) but can you imagine Xavier and Latina Reader getting married and Xavier's vows are entirely in Spanish
okay this makes me so soft oh my- that boy is so in love with you and knows how important your culture is to you so you best believe he’d take his ass to your abuela’s house to ask for help on the translation (and to eat her food bc abuela’s comida alway smacks) since he’s literally her favorite boyfriend you’ve had so far and seems to love him just a little bit more than you at times. The vows are original and so sincere and romantic and full of his love for you. “Te amo con todo mi corazón. No puedo seguir viviendo cuando tú no estás conmigo y quiero amarte por el resto de mi vida.” His accent may not be perfect and some of the pronunciation is off but literally you and your whole family are in tears bc this man literally took the time and effort to not only write his vows in Spanish but recite them at your wedding. He loves you, accepts you for who you are, and wants to be involved and educated on your culture. He wants to be able to enjoy the traditions with you and your future kids. Basically Xavier will love you for who you are and take on every single part that makes you you. (Also I was totally inspired by Jane the Virgin for this oop-)
El Amor Todo Lo Puede Chapter 48: With This Ring...
Chapters 1-45 Chapter 46 Chapter 47
“What would you say is the biggest challenge in your relationship?”
“He tries to tell me what to do.” Laura answered, adding more quietly, “That gets a little sporty sometimes.”
The priest looked over at Rafael. The amusement in Rafael’s eyes made Laura nervous, but all he said was, “I think I would agree with that.”
Laura breathed again.
Rafael had a number of issues with the Catholic Church, and had advocated for a quick, easy wedding, but he knew his fiancée well enough to know that wasn’t going to happen. Of all the things he had ever done to show his love for her, Laura thought that his being here in this room was the most telling. Rafael simply chalked it up to one more thing he would never have imagined he’d do, and then had done without hesitation when Laura asked him to. At least they hadn’t been required to take pre-marriage classes.
Father Frederick would never understand how Laura had talked him into waiving that important step, which he usually required for all couples he married. He wasn’t worried. They weren’t kids, and nothing he’d learned had pointed to any serious issues. He had known Laura Parker since she’d joined Saint Augustine Parish several years before, and he was a good judge of people. He had also spent a number of hours one-on-one with Rafael Barba, and now had a good understanding of Rafael’s basic character. He hoped that Laura would be able to influence Rafael to come back to the Church, because between the two of them, Father Frederick thought Rafael might actually have the deeper, more unshakable faith. What Rafael thought was his anger toward the Church, Father Frederick believed was actually anger at his father and his ex-wife, both practicing Catholics whom Father Frederick would like to have a shot at in a dark alley with a baseball bat. He made a mental note to confess that desire at his next opportunity.
The pre-marriage counseling session didn’t take long. These two were more than compatible, and there were only a few red flags that required particular discussion. To be sure, Father Frederick was relieved to hear that they recognized they were both very strong-willed. They had also discussed the deep wounds both Rafael and Laura carried from the traumatic experiences of their pasts, and the ways those wounds caused problems for their relationship today. Still and all, Father Frederick had no reservations about marrying them.
After that, it was just a matter of choosing a date, which was quickly done. Although they were already living together, a fact they hadn’t tried to hide from Father Frederick, they were both eager to have the blessing and sanction of the Church. Father Frederick was just as eager to get them properly married and out of a state of sin.
***********
Choosing a dress had been easy. Laura knew exactly how she wanted to look when she married Rafael. It had also been easy to agree that they wanted to be married in the beautiful little chapel at St. Augustine’s, rather than the main church, with a small number of family and very close friends in attendance. Lucia informed them that, intimate wedding or not, one doesn’t marry a Hispanic man with a huge, Catholic family without a correspondingly huge party afterward. They had cheerfully accepted her help in arranging one.
No, wedding preparations hadn’t been the problem. The problem, the hardest step for Laura in preparing to marry Rafael, had been telling Peter Stone. Her mother had flatly refused to be the one to do it. Carol had scolded Laura for even suggesting such a cowardly and unfeeling thing. In truth, Laura had been pretty sure she would, but she’d tried anyway.
Peter had started dating a woman a few months after returning to Chicago, and the relationship sounded like it was progressing nicely. Still, Laura was the one getting married, and even she felt a certain sadness at the knowledge that her romance with Peter, the other great love of her life, was truly and finally over for good. She thought maybe Peter might feel a little sad, too, and she didn’t like the idea of hurting him.
“So… um… I called to tell you something.”
“What’s that?”
“Well, I’m… getting married. To Rafael. In May.”
There had been only the smallest hesitation before Peter had congratulated her and, as expected, reminded her that he had predicted that.
“I’ve been telling you for years you should listen to me, but I’ve given up expecting you to.”
“Be nice to me. I talked Mom out of the flowered couch.”
“I am being nice to you. I’m happy for you. Rafael’s a lucky bastard, and I hope he knows it. And how did you talk your Mom out of making me take that couch, anyway?”
Peter only felt a little guilty about changing the subject. As long as he’d been expecting this news, it still hit him like a sledgehammer.
“I told her… You know what? Don’t ask me that. You don’t want to know.”
“Now you have to tell me.”
“Really-“
“Sunshine. Spill.”
“OK, but you asked for it. I told her that we lost our virginity on it. Together. And it would be too emotionally difficult for you to have it in your apartment.”
“You’re not lying about that last part. But I wish I thought you were kidding.”
“You know I’m not.”
“Sunny, you are - something.”
“Is that a compliment or an insult?”
“I don’t know.”
“So, anyway, it’s a tiny wedding. Just close family and friends, which is you on both counts, but… I don’t know if you’d want to come. Don’t feel like you have to.”
“That’s kind of a tough one, Sunshine. You know how I feel. I honestly don’t think I can go to your wedding.”
“I didn’t think so. I’m not going to yours. But… you know. I had to ask.”
“I know. And listen. I’m really happy for you. I wish you everything good in the world.”
“Thanks, Peter. That’s what I want for you, too.”
Peter had thought a long time ago that he had cried for the last time over Laura Parker. But he’d been wrong.
***********
Carisi and Rollins had volunteered to be sort of unofficial ushers. Unofficial because the wedding was really too small to need ushers, but they’d wanted to do something, and Sonny said that he had experience with some odd behavior at weddings in his family. They just wanted to be sure the day was perfect for their friends. The whole squad was overjoyed that Rafael and Laura were getting married. As much as they liked Laura, they had known and cared about Rafael longer, and were especially thrilled to see him happy. It was obvious that he had found a woman who loved him beyond reason, would protect him with her life, and not only tolerated his crankiness but adored him for it. For a while, they’d hoped that being in love (and getting laid regularly) might also make Barba a bit easier to deal with, but that hadn’t happened. Still, they were happy for him.
Neither Laura nor Rafael ever knew how fortunate it was that Carisi and Rollins were on the door that day.
Rafael’s childhood friend Alex Muñoz and his wife, Yelena, arrived with a guest. She was a Hispanic woman who looked as though she had been very pretty at one time but, as Amanda later put it confidentially to Sonny, “That girl’s got some miles on her.” They knew that, at some point in the distant past, Rafael had dated Alex’s wife Yelena, but since Rafael had invited her along with her husband – how could he not – they were willing to be pleasant. But the idea of bringing an uninvited guest to a wedding as intimate as this one rubbed Amanda the wrong way, and the woman herself bothered Sonny. Carisi, who liked everybody until they gave him a reason not to, immediately distrusted her.
And then as Amanda and Sonny were quietly engaging them with questions about how they knew the couple – in other words, interrogation dressed up as social chat – Yelena called the woman “Ana.” Amanda’s suspicions went into the red.
“Oh, Ana, what a lovely name.”
Sonny knew immediately that things were about to get interesting. He’d been partnered with Rollins a long time. He knew when she was about to go Amanda.
As Amanda had intended, the woman explained that “Ana” was short for “Anatalia.”
Anatalia. Rafael’s ex-wife. The one who treated him so horribly that poor Laura basically had to use a crowbar to finally get his pants off, Amanda thought. Oh, hell no. That is not happening.
The sweet, southern smile on Amanda’s face didn’t change. True to her heritage, she appeared perfectly polite and charming as she let Anatalia know – without saying one specific word – that both she and Sonny knew the kind of woman she was. Afterward, neither Yelena nor Anatalia could ever figure out what, exactly, Amanda had said that was so insulting. But they both distinctly got the message.
They got Sonny’s message, as well. Both barrels of it – Italy and Staten Island. He was far more pointed and far less polite than Amanda had been when he told them that Anatalia would not be attending Rafael and Laura’s wedding. For good measure, he shared his opinions on the kind of woman who would even attempt such a thing, and the kind of people who would help her do it.
Anatalia and Yelena sputtered and began to affect discreet outrage, not wanting to make a scene. Amanda, however, was unwilling to give one second to such bullshit on such a happy day. She simply shut it down with a quiet, surgical nuclear strike. “Honey, I think it might be best if you listened to Sonny, but I’d be happy to just have a quiet word with Lucia and ask her what she thinks.”
The reaction on both women’s faces was spectacularly entertaining to both Amanda and Sonny, although neither showed it at the time. Amanda had correctly guessed that Lucia Barba was not a woman to be crossed, and that both Yelena and Anatalia had good reason to know that. That moment gave birth to a favorite, very private joke between Amanda and Sonny. They referred to making an especially effective threat during an interrogation “Asking Lucia.”
It was crystal clear that Anatalia was not getting past Rollins and Carisi. Alex had privately wondered what she and Yelena had been thinking in the first place, but he’d never really liked Ana and wasn’t much surprised when she suggested something as tasteless as crashing Rafi’s wedding. Consummate politician that he was, Alex suggested that the ladies have lunch somewhere while he attended the wedding by himself. He later explained to Rafael and Laura that Yelena was “indisposed” and couldn’t attend. Neither of them gave it a second thought.
**************
The wedding itself was perfect. The mothers cried, Rollins and Carisi cried, and even Olivia and Fin had tears in their eyes. Ed Parker only cried once, just as he finished walking her down the aisle and set Laura’s hand in Rafael’s.
Laura wouldn’t remember much about the ceremony. She was glad there were pictures and a video, because all she was aware of was Rafael. Every detail of his adorably handsome face was precious to her. He always dressed well, and he always looked good to her, but she thought that, standing next to her in his morning suit, beaming with joy, he looked the best she’d ever seen him. She remembered the night in the safe house when she had first realized she loved him, and marveled at the meager fragility of that feeling compared to the feeling she had for him now. She had been completely unprepared to fall in love with a man so much smarter and stronger than she was, so irascible and combative on the outside and yet so privately tender and romantic. But she remembered during the ceremony to offer profound thanks to God that she had. And that he loved her just as fiercely as she loved him.
It was the same for Rafael. His entire focus was on Laura, this brash, irreverent woman who wore thousand-year-old cutoffs and T-shirts whose logos were faded to memories, who had saved his life on multiple occasions despite his reprehensible treatment of her, and who fearlessly waved her love for him like a banner before the whole world. He thought she was beautiful in her simple, elegant white gown and the gauzy veil that sparkled just a little in the morning sunlight. He wanted a picture of her, looking just like that, on his desk to look at every day for the rest of his life. He had done his best to prevent falling in love with her, and to keep her at a distance, but as he stood before the priest and vowed to spend his life caring for her, he thanked God for ignoring what he’d thought he wanted.
***********
The sun streamed in, causing Rafael to throw an arm over his eyes and Laura to bury her head under a pillow. It had been late when they’d finally stumbled into their hotel room, laughing and kissing, and they weren’t quite ready for it to be shining in on the bed, waking them from an exhausted sleep.
They were clear headed, neither having drank any alcohol at the party the night before. Rafael was aware that he could drink if he chose; Laura was clear that she was responsible for her own sobriety. He just preferred not to drink when he was with her. Everyone else at the party had freely indulged, however. Lucia and Carol, who had become fast friends and a fearsome duo, had chosen to hold the party in a restaurant owned by – no surprise – relatives of Lucia’s. The space had rough wooden pillars down the sides of a very large room, supporting rafters of the same wood from which hung cascades of multicolored flowers. The layout made for a huge public space with a raised platform for musicians and acres of floor for dancing, surrounded by rustic, well-used tables covered with brightly-colored linens and dishes. It also created darker, more secluded spaces on the edges beyond the pillars where smaller tables lined the walls. There were thousands of twinkle lights on the rafters and surrounding the pillars, and several votive candles on every table.
The musicians who had been hired for the occasion were from the neighborhood, and welcomed anyone who wanted to join them. The guest who joined them to sing the most songs turned out to be Father Frederick, who sang beautifully and was easily talked into singing. Everybody forgave him for the hilarious result when he tried to sing in Spanish.
The food was so good, and so plentiful, that everyone commented later they’d eaten far more than they’d planned. And everyone had such a good time that most of them also drank more than they’d planned, which made for an easy mixing of the various groups of guests.
Rafael smiled remembering his cousins Ramón and Selena teaching the cha-cha to Olivia and Tucker, who were too tipsy to be any good but had a great time. Fin and his lady, on the other hand, turned out to have some serious moves despite drinking as much as everyone else. Laura’s older brother Steve showed an unexpected interest in learning to cha-cha, which seemed odd until Steve and Selena disappeared about halfway through the party.
Things hadn’t worked out with the Sergeant from Computer Crimes, but Rollins seemed to be taking that in stride. She spent most of the party at a secluded table in a dim corner of the room with an investigator from the D.A.’s office. Carisi and Dean had bonded with Laura’s younger brother Dan and – all three a bit the worse for drink - had learned quite a few colorful Spanish phrases and found themselves very well-liked by Rafael’s many relatives. Carol and Ed Parker tried to ignore their drunken son, but Lucia thought it was hilarious and kept pointing out their shenanigans throughout the night. The only time Lucia faltered was when, after downing shots of something, the three had shouted a particularly graphic phrase they’d just learned. When Carol had asked what they’d said, Lucia blushed and lied.
At one point, one of Rafael’s more inebriated uncles had gone to one knee and proposed to Carmen, who had gracefully negotiated a dance for the moment, in exchange for some time to think about agreeing to marriage.
Rafael and Laura had changed into more casual, comfortable clothes after the wedding, and had spent an exhausting evening trying to make sure they spoke to everyone. It was a difficult task because everyone wanted to feed them, or dance with them, or give them marital advice. It was made more difficult by the fact that they really didn’t feel like being separated. It happened again and again; they kept being swept apart by the many well-wishers, and afterwards Rafael would have to go looking for Laura.
His wife. The idea popped his eyes open and he looked over at her in the bed. She was wearing the bow tie from his morning suit, which he had tied for her once they were finally alone at the hotel, simply because she wanted to wear it. It was still tied perfectly, though hanging crookedly around her neck. He peeked under the covers to confirm that, in fact, it was all she had on. He didn’t know why those silly ideas she got were so adorable to him, but he supposed he’d better get used to it.
She felt him move the covers and peeked out from under the pillow.
“Am I married to you?” She asked sleepily.
“You are.”
“Legally? Like, consummated and stuff?”
“Fully and inescapably.”
“Sweet.” She rolled over and pulled the pillow back over her head. It was a little hard to get back to sleep because her jaw actually ached from smiling so much the day before.
Rafael ordered breakfast from room service and cuddled up to Laura to doze until it arrived.
**********
After a short honeymoon in the Poconos, Laura and Rafael eventually returned to work and began life in their new normal. It was no different than it had been before they were married, other than having moved into their new apartment. But somehow it felt different, in part because every single time Laura caught a glimpse of Rafael’s wedding ring, she felt a new sensation of bliss, on top of the little frisson of excitement she’d always felt when she saw him.
