Write a poem discussing the reclamation of sexuality. #PB17Sexuality "MY SEXUALITY WAS NOBODY ELSE’S CONCERN BUT MINE TO TALK ABOUT" I had to reclaim my sexuality long before I was ready to come out, for my school principals framed me, telling my parents what they should be worried about. I was called to the director's office for him to make a story up, saying I had done something he had seen with his own eyes. It's true I liked this friend, but we hadn't shared a kiss that day. They were only making assumptions, saying I’d been acting gay. They called my parents for a meeting, made me feel ashamed of who I was and advertised my truth before I was ready to put it into my own words. Their disgust wrecked a sixteen-year-old teen, carved an inner scar on his skin. My sexuality was nobody else's concern but mine to talk about. So today I'm raising my voice for those who can't do it for themselves, for those whose parents won't care what they say, and for those who do speak up, but a team of heteronormative bastards will twist their words at school.
