My next fic is the quietest I’ve ever written. It’s the least eventful of them all. In fact, everything that “happens”—all the events—are narrated in the background of the present. Literally, it’s almost all conversations and resolutions.

Oh, and a version of Good Rafal experiences and grapples with guilt for the first time in his life, over Rufius of all people. It's like a foreign body his body is trying to reject. He also actually feels doubt about himself for once, and cracks and panics a little.

In my upcoming fic, Rafal is said to have paid off the Kingdom Council with hush money.

Any guesses as to why?

He also used coercion, outright intimidation, and death threats, but that was cleanly struck off the record. Only the legal activities were documented. Though, no one would have disputed his power.

And he lies to Rhian for a Good reason.

You see, he’s not 100%, precisely by-the-book Good, but he’s as Good as he can be, considering the lifetime of Evil deeds that trail after him like a long shadow; his means are simply more… underhanded.
