His mechanical heart uses more energy than is shown in the campaign, so when he really pushes his limits past his max he has major repercussions for doing so, which is seen with him passing out for days instead of his normal short naps after really draining battles like their base burning down & going straight into the spirit realm, the meatball, Atlas, etc.

when i started shipping them:

honestly very very recently lol. i can't remember exactly but i think abt 2-3 months ago? ik their dynamic was definitely entertaining to me from the start and there were moments that made me go like "👀" sometimes (bc im a gayass hopeless romantic so im always kinda subconsciously on the lookout for fun characters to ship ig lol), but i started getting genuinely rlly invested in the ship roughly when i watched dimension jump for the first time. something abt seeing rimmer get so jealous and catty abt lister and ace i suppose.......... hehe

my thoughts

i mean obviously i think they're great lol. i am nuts abt them. they're both such fun characters and their dynamic together is just wonderful and iconic and hilarious. even platonically they're just like...... a duo to me. ik all of the dwarfers are a set (Do Not Separate Them) but lister and rimmer especially just go together. it doesn't feel right to talk abt one without mentioning the other. they're just lister and rimmer yknow......... regardless of whether they're friends or lovers i just love them together and love it when they interact

what makes me happy about them

SO MANY THINGS....... the ship does bring a lot of comfort to me bc despite their arguments and the insults that get thrown around they do really care abt each other and it becomes pretty obvious in later seasons. the opposites attract/sun and moon thing they have going on is so endearing to me as well.......... i get so much serotonin from the little moments of honest affection they have for each other in the show.

i think they can be a source of comfort for each other as well, not always in an obvious way but they just keep each other grounded, they're each a reassuring constant in the other's life yknow? also they're both very relatable to me in their own different ways so i would be lying if i said there wasn't an aspect of projection in it as well lol

what makes me sad about them:

the answer to this one is also Many Things......... sometimes they are genuinely just Mean to each other and it makes me a bit sad. and just. lister's childhood and his loneliness and depression and likewise rimmer's childhood and self hatred...... idk they're just both very saddening guys at times, im not even gonna lie. i wish that they'd both allow themselves to be more vulnerable with each other and more open abt their feelings sometimes but ik there are plenty of reasons why that's hard for them. ig it's more their characters separately that make me sad mostly rather than their relationship with each other though, if that makes sense

this is a rlly specific personal pet peeve but i kinda dislike it when ppl rlly exaggerate lister's accent in fic. like when they write his speech out as "rimmah" instead of "rimmer" and that sort of thing lol. it's fine in small amounts or if it's a purely comedic fic but if im reading a more emotionally poignant (or sexy) fic and the author has changed the spelling of every second word lister says i just have to exit outta there sorry. for me i feel like since we all know what he sounds like then trying to write out his pronunciation that way just seems awkward and silly. this is by no means an objective thing just personal preference.

it's also a pet peeve of mine when lister gets kinda sidelined or his characterisation gets messed around with in favour of the author basically using him as a self insert bc they're horny for rimmer. it doesn't come up often but when it does it annoys me......... ik rimmer is everyone's special little boy but i love lister too and i don't like to see him get ignored or undervalued like that

my wishlist:

bsd: gonna shock everyone i know..... nikolai :) his vibes are just impeccable. i love his whole view of life and what he does in hopes to achieve his impossible goal. i love that he's crazy cuuhraaaayyzeeee asylum but also is he. keeping us on our toes. and most importantly he is FUN every time he's around you can't help but have a good time even tho he's like, gruesomely murdering someone (i mean for me it's also part of the fun but eh)

fire emblem: ferdinand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he is just. ough. he is so dear to me. he fills my heart with joy and warmth i can't explain it. he has such a good and lovely arc and despite suffering and losing so much he remains positive through it all and tries his best to help others. and he's also just! very fun! like with nikolai every time he's on screen is just enjoyable, usually p funny, or very touching :')

persona: akechi. he makes me insane. esp in royal he's a very well written and interesting character imo, his motivations are illogical in a logical way (as in. they're illogical but you can perfectly understand why), he is so so tragic. and once again like the last 2, he is just so so fun, esp in third sem where he lets loose and becomes more violent and vulgar and sassy :)

criticism is valid and understandable and no media is free of it, but some people really spend almost all their time in a certain fandom doing nothing but hating it and its creator (biggest example is the bnha fandom is 2017ish. i swear most posts i saw abt it were hate posts from people who were still following the manga religiously)

not to mention the version of this that's like ignoring canon completely and making up new personalities for the characters in an attempt to make them non-problematic and such. pls just make ocs

like at some point i can't help but wonder why they're still reading it?? please move on to different things? if not for your own well being then for other fans bc i don't wanna see your negativity when i'm trying to be excited over smth i like 😭

The King and Queen’s Nakedness (Cradle’s Hot Springs Bonus Story)

Aight so there’s a hot springs collection event going on in Ikerev TW rn, and guess what one of the bonus stories were?

The characters, of course, involve our lovely Kings and Queens of Cradle and their trip to the hot springs. The term “坦诚相见” here, translated literally, means “to see each other honestly.” However, over the years, it’s become a polite euphemism for nakedness in the presence of others ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The moment I saw that title I knew I absolutely HAD to get it. It costs 400 hearts on the TW version (probably more in the ENG version), and it was absolutely worth the story tickets I used. I had a lotta Jonah-centered thoughts after reading it, so...here goes.

Ships mentioned: Lancelot x Jonah, Sirius x Jonah

MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW THE CUT

So basically a new hot springs was discovered in Cradle, and the officials from both armies are there to inspect it and the resort that was built around it. We start off with our K and Q of Hearts riding to the new resort, and Jonah mentions that it sounds barbaric to bathe in the open (he’s so prim and prissy uwu). Lancelot, being the fair King, tells Jonah that they shouldn’t comment on something they haven’t yet seen, and Jonah agrees. 

Then, Jonah puffs out his chest and mentions that Edgar and the others had wanted to come along too, but apparently he stopped them because:

[Jonah: The only one allowed to see King Lancelot naked is me, the Queen of Hearts--your right arm!] 

Jonah, I--

(I had to punch a desk while reading that line to calm down)

I have no idea how one man can make me squeal and cringe at the same time, but THIS MAN I STG

And I was also kinda worried abt how Lancelot would react bc it would break both my heart and Jonah’s heart if he reacts negatively. But I never should’ve underestimated this smug bastard bc:

[Lancelot: ...Yeah.]

Aaaaaand Lancelot just casually confirms that Jonah’s the only one who gets to see him naked.

...Cybird are u sure there isn’t anything going on between them.

And then this dude has the nerve to SMILE after that entirely platonic exchange:

[The corner of Lancelot’s lips turned up in a smile, but at the same time, as if noticing something, he reined in his horse slightly]

And this is when Ray and Sirius come into the scene!

[Sirius: If only we could’ve brought the brats along.]

Unlike Jonah and Lancelot (who secretly hate their kids), Sirius and Ray are sad bc they couldn’t take the kids along awwwwwww.

So apparently neither group knew the other would be inspecting the hot springs at this time, too, so it turns into a happy coincidence and they go to the hot springs together. 

Well, maybe not so happy for Jonah...

[Sirius: Ah. This seems pretty nice. Isn’t that right, Jonah.

Jonah: Don’t talk to me. Why am I so unfortunate that I have to be naked with you people?]

asdjffkjda;wkleiuesafw HE’S SO CUTE WHEN HE’S FORCED TO BE NAKED IN FRONT OF HIS SWORN ENEMY

And he’s so overdramatic abt it too??? Going all “don’t talk to me” and “I’m so unfortunate woe is me” bc he’s sharing a hot spring with “you people.” But I can kinda understand how he feels bc he probably wants to be alone with Lancelot...naked...in the hot springs...

And I love how Sirius addresses him first too, probably bc he knows it’s gonna make Jonah all grumpy and indignant. 

[Sirius: If you’re so fired up it’ll be easy for you to faint from the heat. Did you drink water before coming in?

Jonah: Of course I did. I drank a whole cup...no, I don’t need your concern. I told you not to talk to me!]

I never thought I’d see the day when Sirius parents Jonah, too, but here we are ig. Granted, it’s more in a teasing way than an actual fatherly way, but still. And Jonah is receptive to it too! He subconsciously replies to Sirius’s question before he catches himself and remembers that he’s supposed to hate the dude.

I genuinely think that, if circumstances were different, Jonah and Sirius would probably get along pretty well. Sirius doesn’t get easily offended by Jonah’s prickly nature (in fact there are times where he seems amused by it), and Jonah would appreciate having someone around who can ground him and take care of him and take him down a few notches. If only Jonah would stop thinking of Sirius as the person who “stole” his King and his brother XD

But yeah while that’s going down the Kings are just chilling:

[A bit further away from the two noisy people, Lancelot and Ray soaked in the hot springs side by side.]

U know, just two Kings, chillin in a hot spring, two feet apart bc this is an otome game.

And yeah. They go on to talk about making the hot springs available to everyone in Cradle, regardless of the territory they belong in, and also about how MC would be happy to see that happen. Sirius and Jonah then comes over, still bickering (I thought u weren’t talking to him Jonah), and the four of them enjoys the hot springs together!

I love this story so much!!! 1000000000/10 would recommend to anyone thinking about getting it when the event rolls around.
