Oi Ekira, what’s with the thumb-sucking now and then? Thought you’ve grown way past that, no?

“That’s—!” Heat rises to their cheeks as their thumb pops out of their mouth, quickly shoving it beneath their arm. Technically time around they were only biting their nail, but it certainly didn’t make the observation any less embarrassing. “I did! I grew past it, I—“

Ekira’s shoulders rise up, the lump in their throat growing larger by the minute as they try to shrink in their seat. “I don’t— I didn’t—“ they stammer, struggling to bite back tears. “I don’t do that anymore. I don’t.”

#to give you a real answer since Ekira wont: they were weaned too early and this is a result of that #in a way it’s also kind of similar to me because while I don’t suck my thumb I do bite my nails #for me it helps alleviate stress and anxiety which also helps Ekira and soothes them #usually though in Ekira’s case it starts out as nail biting then turns to thumb sucking #though tbf to Ekira I was a thumb sucker at nine so HAH #🌻 | grey strangers.#🌻 | ic.#maybe not as old as them for sure but still plenty embarassing
