#to get to see how Hyrule lived 10000 years before the calamity

As soon as I saw this leak I got real excited I had already suspected we'd be getting flashbacks to 10,000 years ago, to the first calamity, as it would only make sense to flesh that part out more now that whatever kept the calamity sealed away has been broken, or lifted, and this pretty much confirms that suspicion for me.
I have two competing ideas on who this mysterious woman could be
my first thought was that she is the physical representation of the goddess Hylia, which she very well could be by this point, if the lines on her skin are not simply painted on. My second and more likely thought, is that this is an incarnation of Zelda, a version of her from 10,000 years ago—the Zelda who seals the calamity away that we see in the ancient mural.
I highly suspect we will have at least one cut scene depicting the past, but I have a feeling that for each temple/dungeon (or whatever equivalent they receive in game) there will be a cut scene unlocked showing the history of what unfolded 10,000 years ago, and that these visions will be what Link and Zelda need to see in order to figure out how to stop the next coming of the calamity.
We may even get to see her journey alongside botw-Zelda's (i.e. if we get playable Zelda segments, I can see the ancient-Zelda cutscenes being placed during those segments,) as they both ascend to a point strong enough to seal away the calamity at different points in time.
#totk#botw#loz#totk spoilers#I just think it would be neat#to get to see how Hyrule lived 10000 years before the calamity#this would also be the first loz game to have two Zelda's from two different points in the history of Hyrule#I do suspect that the journey this ancient Zelda went through was to ascend to goddesshood like Zelda did in ss#and that would mean that botw-Zelda will be also going on that same journey to ascension#I wonder if this time they will break the cycle#or if Demise's curse will hold strong for another 10000 years#Which makes me wonder if every 10000 years#Demise has an opportunity to break through to unleash calamity#the first one was outright avoided due to Link and Zelda in ss#then 10000 years later we see the calamity come forth again#and nearly succeed if it weren't for ancient-Zelda and ancient-Link#(which I think we will get to see actual glimpses of in flashbacks during totk)#and tbh it makes me wonder if we are about to see what calamity truly is#and that the events from botw weren't quite the calamity#as Zelda and Link were able to post-pone the true destruction#the destruction that we're going to see in totk

Gale’s Theories: Ganondorf is not the same Ganondorf
Now if you have read that statement, you are probably VERY confused
What do I mean by that?
Well buckle up kiddos, I’m about to drop my theory on you.
Demon king Ganondorf from tears of the kingdom
Is not the same as Calamity Ganon
In fact he isn’t connected to the other Ganondorfs in the Zelda Timeline.
So Spoilers for tears of the kingdom.
The Demon King Ganondorf came to be 10000 years before the events of Tears of the kingdom. Around the founding of Hyrule, in the Age of King Rauru and Queen Sonia.
He killed the queen and stole her sage stone to become the monster that he is. The demon king
With his power, he nearly destroyed Hyrule. But he was sealed away by Rauru.
And eventually the seal gets undone. That results in the Gloom leaking out and Link and Zelda going to investigate, thus beginning the events of the game.
Now how can I say for sure that this Ganondorf isn’t the same as the Calamity Ganon, or that Calamity Ganon is not just a manifestation of THIS Ganondorf’s hatred.
Well it’s actually quite simple.
It revolves around Demise.
Demise, the Demon king that made the cycle that always has his hatred follow the blood of the princess and spirit of the hero.
Whenever that incarnation of Hate appears to cause trouble, it’s because Link and Zelda are both around or are coming.
This is the case in each game, EXCEPT for Tears of the kingdom.
Ganondorf didn’t manifest, the DK Ganondorf was sealed away by another person for 10000 years. There was no hero to confront and fight this Ganondorf back then. In fact, Zelda only shows up in that past AFTER they met him in the depths, altering history and causing her appearance as a dragon in the game. Zelda and Link wondered into this Demon King’s whole agenda, his beef wasn’t with Link or Zelda. If it was, Ganondorf, who would have had the memories of his previous lives would have KNOWN Zelda and Link prior to meeting them. He would have probably gone after them first.
But he didn’t, this Ganondorf arrogantly fought Link not as a nemesis he clashed with before like with his other iterations, but as some sort of annoyance that his true enemy warned him about.
And there is an important piece of dialogue that was in breath of the wild.
“He has Given up on Reincarnation.”
This form is no longer human or any sort of mortal. Calamity Ganon was the incarnation of Demise’s hate and the evil being that the hero of hyrule and princess were bound to fight.
The Demon king Ganondorf and Calamity Ganon are not the same.
If we even want to go further. The evil miasma that DK Ganondorf is responsible for is called Gloom,
While the Dark miasma that Calamity Ganon makes is called Malice. Both treated as different things in the Zelda universe
But before you all say
“But Gale, in Botw, it mentions Calamity Ganon appeared 10,000 years ago and Demon King Ganondorf appeared back then.”
Both can be correct, because, Calamity Ganon, appeared before Ganondorf.
Totk took place 5-7 years after BOTW.
Meaning, that Calamity Ganon appeared and was defeated by the Link and Zelda of that time with the Shiekah tech.
It’s likely the fight decimated hyrule but was stated as a success since Ganon was defeated.
Then the Zonai appeared likely seeing the aftermath and brought their tech, resulting in the Refounding of hyrule.
Ganondorf appears and pulls his bulls*** and bam. The imprisoning war.
After Mineru vanishes there were no more Zonai to help with the tech and thus useless and likely the ancient sheikah tech was lost to time. Thus 100 years prior to botw, the rediscovery of that Sheikah tech. Which was less complicated so it was easier to rediscover.
And that tech was eventually scrapped After Calamity Ganon was defeated so the guardians and Beasts could not be taken advantage of again.

I couldn’t sleep, started thinking about totk again.
what happened to the sheikah tech? Well, what if they literally faded away? Like all the tech was under a stasis effect for 10000 years, which broke when ganon was defeated. And like the shrine monks, it all blew away in green smoke. then another thought hit me, how would Zelda react to that? Losing her family, friends, kingdom, and then her main interest? And then I wrote an outline. I’m not even a writer how did that happen?
Immediatly after the calamity
The master sword is returned to the pedestal in the lost woods to rest. It’s work finished hopefully for good.
The spirits of the king, mipha, daruk, revali, and urbosa pass on.
The divine beasts go inert.
After a 2 month recovery period, link and Zelda begin to investigate the divine beasts, starting with vah rudania.
However, try as she might Zelda simply cannot figure out what’s wrong with it. With any of them! She even attempts to have yunobo activate the beast, which doesn’t work (doing wonders for poor yunobo’s self esteem). The bronze stone alloy the divine beasts, and in fact all ancient sheikah technology are made of has started to turn grey.
Then it get worse. 3 months later the shrines and towers, once blue, maybe orange, shut down. Zelda is beginning to worry, as she frantically tries everything she can think of to try and revive the technology, hindered when the shiekah slate itself one day shuts down. The technology slowly deteriorates until one day, half a year since the the defeat of the calamity, the technology, the beasts, the shrines, the towers, simply fade away in a matter link notices similar to the monks link had met in the shrines.
Zelda is inconsolable. She hardly ever leaves links house. She won’t eat. Link is worried. He tries anything he can think of to lift her spirits, one day he packs their things and drags Zelda to Faron to see the zonai ruins. And suddenly Zelda is alive again. Something to research! Something new!
She throws herself entirely into this new topic, and it’s like nothing had ever happened.
1 year after the calamity, a blood moon occurs. The people hold their breath but ganon himself doesn’t return, simply his monsters. The blood moon itself had long proven itself an annual routine, long before the calamity, easily dealt with by the royal army, but it’s frequency hadincreased to (idk let’s say) once every three full moons. (Weee headcanons! But I mean like, ganon wasn’t truly dead was he? That was just a bunch of sentient gloom/malice that leaked from rauru’s seal. Makes sense the blood moon would plague the land long before calamity ganon attacked.)
However, where before the destruction of the royal army combined with the greater frequency of the moon meant that hyrule never had a chance to try and get ahead of the problem, this time was different. In response to the reappearance of monsters a new group is formed, aptly naming themselves the monster hunters. Three squads of brave hyruleans willing to risk their lives to prevent the monsters from retaking hyrule.
Link joins them, being the greatest soldier in all the land, and while he visits Zelda constanly his absence from day to day life lead the people of hateno village to forget his face.
Speaking of Zelda, she has not been idle. The blood moon showed her something too, that the cycle of calamity is not finished, someday ganon will return. With no sheikah technology to aid them, Zelda fears how the next generation will fare. In an attempt to find anything she can leave to that future generation, Zelda founds the zonai research team, to investigate the ruins, research the zonai, in hopes of maybe discovering something useful (of course she also just plain wanted to do that anyway, the moon simply gave her the “selfless” motive)
The children of hateno village are starstruck by her passion and speeches, and Zelda finds herself lecturing to just as many children as scholars. So Zelda hires the newly renamed Hudson construction, Bolton having retired, to build a schoolhouse for the children.
Meanwhile Purah and Robbie haven’t been idle. 4 years after the calamity they present Zelda with a prototype of something they’re calling “The Purah pad”, a name which Robbie seems reluctant to commit to.
Right now it only has the camera, but Purah promises one day it’ll have map functionality, as well as teleportation!
Purah just needs to set up relay towers to provide it with the topographical map data.
Having done such a good job with the schoolhouse, zelda reccomends Hudson construction, who begins work on them straight away.
5 years have passed. Half of the “skyview towers” as Purah is calling them, have been built. Zelda wishes to begin resettling central hyrule, and once again hires Hudson construction to rebuild castle town itself.
They begin by setting up a base around the old sacred grounds ruins, surrounding the remains of a secret hidden passage that Zelda is able to unlock. They call it lookout landing. Purah opts to move there herself, in order to more efficently survey they construction of her towers from a more, central, locale.
6 years since the calamity. Hudson construction workers in castle town are falling Ill. The cause seems to be a strange airborne fog reminiscent of the malice of calamity ganon, emanating from caverns under hyrule castle, ones that Zelda’s father had said had been forbidden since before the castle itself had even been built.
Acting on a hunch, link and Zelda reclaim the master sword from the lost woods, and set off for the caverns underneath hyrule castle.
