The Acts 2 moment

So here we are... Monday morning. How quickly do Mondays come around...?! It’s not quite right I don’t think!

Talking of things coming quickly; This New Republic is just 11 days away...!!! We can officially say now that it’s happening next week...!

So here’s my thought for it, seeming as the theme scripture is from Acts 2:2 which says :

“And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.”

The mighty rushing wind; representing the presence of the Holy Spirit. God himself in the room.

But if you skip one verse back, the context of this states :

“When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.”

It’s amazing to think that the disciples; this group of rag tag, uneducated, bickering and squabbling young adults, had by this point become of ‘one accord.’

You have to remember this is the group who argued over who’d sit by Jesus in heaven. The same group who got annoyed by kids coming up to Jesus and ruining their vibe.

But I think them being in one accord, together, united and building towards the same thing was the prerequisite for what God was about to do.

See what I love about This New Republic is that it’s a bunch of young adults from across Europe (plus some from further afield!) who are together, of one accord.

Cheering each other on. Commiserating the losses. Celebrating the wins.

And I totally believe that when we meet next Friday that there will be an Acts 2 moment, God present, where everything changes.

I couldn’t be any more excited to stand with friends and family to lift up the name of Jesus.
