Holy shit this got more numbers than I expected.

Anyway hello! First off I wanna thank everybody who liked and reblogged and did all the tumblr things, I really appreciate all of you.

Now, into the au! Its current working title is the Re-Record au, mainly because that’s essentially what it is. It’s part au, part project with me and a handful of my friends voicing different characters!

(We don’t have a voice for Elias yet but whenever that day comes I’ll probably reblog this with an update or something.)

Currently it’s similar to canon with a few adjustments. I plan on making transcripts for it and possibly audio statements too, depending on how interested people are. Given that it’s an au, it also contains spoilers for the main plot of TMA.

As I’m writing things for Jon, I’ll share my working ideas with you all on the changes to his character. Some of them are changed because of my own vocal limits, some of them are changed because they’re ideas I want to explore more. There’s also going to be some lore sprinkled in.

Jon is younger than he is in canon, around his mid to late twenties. The stress makes it harder to tell just how old he is.

Jon is a trans man who isn’t on T at the start of season one.

Gertrude is Jon’s mom. Jon doesn’t initially know this. I’m still toying around with how he finds out.

In season one, Jon isn’t as much of a dick to Martin. (I understand that Jon has ample reasoning to dislike Martin, considering how they met and Martin’s continued incompetence throughout his career, but I feel like him going to an extreme of seemingly not caring whether he lives or dies is a bit much. He won’t be overly soft to the man, mind you, he’ll still have his moments of being an ass, but he wouldn’t go so far as to put him in the path of danger deliberately.)

Jon’s autistic and has trouble understanding jokes and people being affectionate towards him.

Jon records statements on his laptop, which works mostly rather fine, though the recording program never lets him delete cuts he’s made.

Jon adds tape recorder effects in the background of the statements. He claims it’s more to make a sense of continuity’s, as previous statements were recorded on tapes, but really he just likes the sound of it.

Sorry Jmart enjoyers but Jon probably won’t have any romantic feelings towards Martin. I can imagine their relationship being and remaining queer platonic.

Jon doesn’t call himself an Archivist at first.

tma mechs college band au where basira & jon are in the mechs together in college (along w the other members ofc) and while jon is staying with georgie shes like 'haha you should record another album w the mechs' and he tries to get out of it but somehow we end up with jonathan sims, no 1 suspect for the murder of jurgen leitner and gertrude robinson, basira, cop at the head of said murder cases, and also nikola orsinov, the fucked up mannequin, all in a room together. the rest of the mechs are regular ass people who thought a reunion would be fun with their old college pals. they did not sign up for this. basira promised to leave all cop stuff outside the studio but she is Mad About It
