The designs of the Lion King spin-off AU of the FPK AU are finally done!!! This took a long time but I'm incredibly proud of the result.
The story of this AU is quite different from both the HK canon and the FPK AU, though there are some similar elements here and there! I'm very happy with it, and I can't wait to potentially explore it in the future through art :D
Featuring a lot of the characters who don't have designs in the main AU (such as Irma, the original character who was Grimm's previous partner), those who are dead or don't have a big role, and Lace, who may or may not be included in the main AU depending on what her portrayal in Silksong is like.

Some more TLK AU yapping. I really like the idea of keeping Herrah alive in this one, I think giving her a bit more spotlight here would be really interesting. As a side note, I wonder if there's any other character y'all think could get more attention in this AU (or the wolf AU), I'd love to what some suggestions!
I don't have Herrah's finished design yet, but she's a massive lioness, almost giving Cape lion, and she would be a strong warrior. She would naturally still be the mother of Hornet, and born in similar circumstances - Vyrm would be pressured to do it for diplomatic alliance reasons.
But since here Herrah sticks around after Hornet was born, I quite like the idea that Hornet would spend some time with her, and then some time with Vyrm, which would eventually lead to her feeling as if she doesn't belong, and finding it difficult to get attached. Moreover, Vyrm's fear of confrontation would mean that he wouldn't be there to protect her from any conflict between her and WL, which would give her reasons to be angry at him.
At the same time, I think she would also be very hesitant about becoming Herrah's heir and the future queen of the pride. So after Herrah was presumed dead in a fight against The Radiance's pride (I'll elaborate more on that another time), Hornet felt intense dread about replacing her, she believed she wasn't made for it, that it was too much for her. And since Vyrm ran away with Asta and Milo soon before the news reached her, Hornet's immediate thought was to follow them to get as far away from her responsibilities as possible. So it was incredibly convenient when WL ordered her and Holly to go look for Vyrm and bring him back - Hornet was really skilled at tracking, and having Holly and Zote around meant that Zote could help scout the area from the air. What WL didn't know, is that none of them planned to return.
Then eventually Herrah returned, turns out she nearly died but was saved by a medic and nursed back to health in secret. When she came back, the pride was in chaos, and the pretenders to the throne got confident enough to cause serious issue. And I think that's where she's at now, trying to bring order to her pride. Her alliance with WL's pride would also be at risk, as Herrah would blame her for Hornet's disappearance. Which creates even more tension, as The Radiance's pride is still a looming threat, even if the recent battle delayed it.
