#there's this unspoken assumption that nt people are just husks full of assholishness with bland emotions and no passions#any sort of quirk fictional or real is explained by autism or adhd (just these two)#and even if you don't care about nt people being essentially told they are emotionless and without passion#you are confusing others into believing they're nd and muddying the definitions#(this also goes for sexuality and gender btw)#(apparently straight people can't actually love and cis people have no self perception)

these are all tags from one post about fostering active curiosity in things you find interesting. no I don't have adhd or autism. even if I did, why are you hellbent on making a complete stranger's experiences all about what you think their brain chemistry looks like. you guys have seriously got to knock this weird online psych zodiac shit off, it's not cute.
#this this this this THIS.#i don't doubt a lot of people here have autism/adhd#but when people start throwing around this stuff with literally every imaginable fun activity/habit/etc people do#that's how you get every other person (especially young people who have no idea how to sift through misinformation) thinking they have it.#and it adds to the growing narrative that neurotypical people are “boring” and “not special” and “something that would be awful to be“ etc.#like. at the end of the day asd and adhd are disorders. it's in the name. please stop pathologizing every individual human trait.#people have done this on my own posts too and it's like no. just no. it's so uncomfortable.#(editing to add more tags...)#that bit about labeling people as eggs just because they like a scent that's stereotypically liked by a different gender is also a++.#stop doing that too please. it's creepy and invasive.#i know someone who likes old spice. she's a cis woman. i also know someone who cosplays as men. SHE'S ALSO A CIS WOMAN.#SHE IS 45 YEARS OLD. SHE KNOWS WHO SHE IS. SHE KNOWS HERSELF BETTER THAN ANYONE.#but she got called an egg by like 10 different people online when she posted her cosplay photos so she removed them.#people were basically saying “ohh you don't understand your gender yet or are going to come out as a different gender! we know you will!”.#how is that okay?! people have no sense of boundaries anymore and it shows.#tldr: seeing people online isn't a trait easter egg hunt. it's not a game to spot the prize and rack up as many points as possible.#psychology#neurodiversity#armchair diagnosing#bigotry
